Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the fourth movie in Planet of the Apes‘ rebooted saga, is set to hit theatres on May 27, 2024. There’s no better time to catch up with the series, which has, overall, proven worthy of its critical acclaim and been a box-office success.
While the original Planet of the Apes movies, which were produced between 1968 and 1973, took place in a future where apes had risen to become the dominant species on the planet, the rebooted series chose to depict how apes came to hold such power over humanity. Planet of the Apes is a sci-fi classic. If ever there was a series worth digging into, it’s this one.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)

In the first of the rebooted Planet of the Apes movies, a geneticist named Will Rodman (James Franco) is testing out a new cure for Alzheimer’s disease on chimpanzees at a laboratory in San Francisco. Though one of the test subjects was eventually shot after going on a rampage, her offspring, named Caesar (Andy Serkis), begins to develop rapidly, able to communicate through sign language and eventually even speak. Years later, when Ceasar comes into contact with other apes, he douses them with a new version of the same drug, heightening their intelligence, too. It turns out, however, that the drug can be deadly for humans. The apes eventually fight their way to freedom and escape into the forest.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes place ten years after Rise. A deadly pandemic has drastically decreased the human population, and society has collapsed, while the intelligent apes, whose numbers have only increased due to the virus, have established a state of their own. When a band of human survivors enters the apes’ territory, all hell breaks loose, and the apes are forced into a battle with humanity’s remaining armies.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

Two years after the events of Dawn, War for the Planet of the Apes sees the war between apes and humans come to a head. The apes are forced into a ruthless, deadly battle by a vindictive human Colonel (Woody Harrelson), and they suffer heavy losses. Tapping into his darker side, Caesar vows to avenge his kind, and he and the Colonel get locked into an epic war that will determine the fate of apekind and humankind for years to come.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will involve another significant time skip. While War for the Planet of the Apes depicted the end of the conflict between apes and humans, Kingdom will take us into the future that the original Planet of the Apes movies foretold. Apes are now the dominant species, and humans have regressed significantly, forced into exile. It’ll be interesting to see how much the apes’ society has grown and developed and what parallels can be drawn between Kingdom and the original Planet of the Apes movie. Some shots in the trailer show the apes using more dangerous, technologically advanced weapons, but we’ll have to wait and see how those play into the story.
This will be the first of the rebooted Planet of the Apes movies without Andy Serkis’ Caesar in the leading role. However, though it has yet to be confirmed, Kevin Durand will likely be playing Caesar’s son. Durand will be joined by The Witcher‘s Freya Allen in the lead human role.
Art the Clown will return for another round of gun-happy supernatural slashings in Terrifier 3, written and directed by Damien Leone and produced by Phil Falcone.
Originally played by Mike Giannelli, Art first appeared in the 2013 horror anthology film All Hallows’ Eve, Leone’s feature-length directorial debut. Set on Halloween night, the film is presented as a series of shorts on an unmarked videotape discovered by two children and their babysitter, all featuring the homicidal clown. The first All Hallows’ Eve incorporates footage from Leone’s short films The 9th Circle (2008)and Terrifier (2011), also featuring Art.
In Terrifier (2016), Art returned, and again four years later, in the Screambox Original Terrifier 2 (2020), a supernatural force resurrects the killer clown so he can keep terrorizing the residents of Miles County. Known for extreme gore and practical effects, Terrifier 2 gained national attention after reports surfaced on social media of audiences “vomiting” and “passing out,” raking in over $15 million worldwide at the box office, earning over four times what it cost to make, according to Yahoo! Entertainment.
While Art’s first appearances were love letters to slasher films and the horror genre as a whole, over time, Leone’s gore-filled shock fests started to develop their own voice. As such, the Terrifier franchise has gained a loyal following, thanks to some truly innovative violence (seriously, there was some stuff I’ve never seen before). Even comedian Pete Davidson is among those loyal fans, which led to Art’s cameo in Davidson’s strange hallucination sequence in the season 1 finale of the Peacock series Bupkis.
In a May 2023 Cannes exclusive, Deadline reported that the women-led production company The Coven was again teaming up with the Art the Clown filmmakers Leone and Falcone to handle worldwide sales on Terrifier 3. The Coven founder, Priscilla Ross Smith, said, “There will be a much bigger budget this time around, which is intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom and let them be as wild as they can be. And, all jokes aside, we are going for that Oscar this year.”

What is Terrifier 3 about?
“Terrifier 3 will be another boundary-pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no-holds-barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate,” Leone told Deadline, alongside the threequel’s announcement. “If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in Part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
While no official Terrifier 3 plot synopsis has been released yet, Leone has hinted at the film’s storyline in several interviews. Speaking to Insider, the director teased his plans for expanding the mythology behind the killer clown in a big way, expanding on Terrifier 2‘s religious themes. “There’s blatant religious mythic imagery [in Terrifier 2],” explained Leone. “The clown is this resurrected demon, and Sienna is slowly becoming aware that she’s sort of this Old Testament angel ready to do battle and going through that metamorphosis.”
The director added, “Because there’s a lot more to explore with Art the Clown, the pale girl, Victoria, and certainly Sienna as our final girl. We will be following her journey to the end of this franchise.”
Who is in Terrifier 3?

Having played Art the Clown in Terrifier and Terrifier 2, David Howard Thornton (Nightwing: Escalation) will return as the homicidal prankster. Also returning for the threequel are Terrifier 2‘s Shaw siblings Sienna, played by Lauren LaVera (Iron Fist), and Jonathan, played by Elliott Fullam (Get Rolling with Otis), and in a much more prominent role, heroine turned villainess Victoria Heyes, played by Samantha Scaffidi (Demon Hole).
Regarding Terrifier, Leone said his biggest regret was leaving Heyes underdeveloped. Originally, Terrifier 2 set up the character’s demise, but the director/writer deemed it too similar to the concept of 2021’s Malignant. While conceptualizing the birthing scene, he decided he wanted to keep Victoria alive and give her significant character development, as he enjoyed working with Scaffidi.

EEAAO also contains some references to sexuality, including sexual humor. In one scene, a character uses a phallic-looking trophy as a butt plug. That scene, along with a montage of different realities that include characters making love, contains partial nudity.

However, EEAAO may still be a great movie to watch with your teens. The film delivers a strong message of maternal love and acceptance, as Evelyn learns to accept Joy as she is. The family bond between Evelyn, Joy, Waymond, and Evelyn’s father Gong Gong (James Hong) is moving and heartwarming. The film is also visually beautiful, with a smart, mind-bending plot. Who are the Mentalics in Foundation season 2?

The Mentalics, inspired by the characters of the same name in Isaac Asimov’s I, Robot and Foundation novels, are a community of humans with telepathic abilities. These abilities include sharing thoughts and memories, projecting illusions, and bending people to their will. The Mentalics live in a secluded colony, where they’re led by the charismatic Tellem Bond (Rachel House). As Gaal’s own psychic abilities strengthen, allowing her to see into the far future, the more sinister side of the Mentalics starts to emerge.
Tellem reveals that she’s spent generations cheating death by sending her consciousness into new bodies—which she harvests from unwilling volunteers. Tellem also reveals that she plans to use Gaal’s body as her next vessel, and initiates a ceremony in which she begins to eliminate Gaal’s consciousness so that she can take over. Luckily, Salvor and Hari use an illusion of their own to rescue Gaal and kill Tellem.
After Tellem’s death, the rest of the Mentalics reveal that they’ve been living under her control. Once she’s gone, though, they’re free to start over again, and they become the caretakers of Gaal and Hari’s bodies as the pair goes into cryosleep. Salvor isn’t as lucky, though: after Tellem’s death, one last remnant of her consciousness enters the mind of a young boy, and he kills Salvor.
Why do Hari and Gaal go into cryosleep in the Mentalic colony? Why, to set up season 3, of course.
Who are the Mentalics in Foundation season 3?
In season 2, Gaal projects her consciousness over 150 years into the future, where she’s confronted with a frightening vision: a powerful Mentalic called the Mule is on a rampage, and he’s got his sights set on Gaal.
We don’t know much about the Mule yet. However, in the original novels, the Mule is a warlord bent on thwarting Hari’s plan to save humanity. In season 3 of the Apple TV+ adaptation, we know that he’ll be on the lookout for Gaal, as her cryosleep allows her to catch up to him in the future.
How will Gaal and the Mule face off? What will the Mentalics—both in the colony, and in the wider galaxy—look like by the time Gaal and Hari wake up? We’ll have to wait for season 3 to come out to see.
It’s hard to think of another television series that has captured the global audience the way that Squid Game has. The South Korean drama, where 456 players compete in a deadly game for millions of dollars, became Netflix’s most-watched series and the most-watched program in 94 countries.
The series garnered critical acclaim and took home several international awards. Two years later, Squid Game fever shows no signs of slowing down. That’s thanks in part to the massively successful Squid Game: The Challenge reality series which, while completely missing the point of its predecessor, was nevertheless successful enough to earn a second season.
Okay, but when is Squid Game coming back?
Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has said he’s working on season two, but there has been little news from Netflix about the highly anticipated season. So, what do we know about season two of Squid Game?
When we last saw protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), he was boarding an airplane to visit his daughter in America. But after watching the game recruiter manipulate another desperate player, he takes the invitation card and calls the phone number. He asks the voice on the other end who is running the games, but the voice warns him to board the plane. Instead, Gi-hun walks away from the terminal, presumably to take the game-makers down.
No release date has been set for season 2 of the series, but a table read took place in June 2023. The series is currently filming, meaning the earliest it could premiere is late 2024. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn more.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe officially began in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. In the fifteen years since then, the MCU has unfolded through more movies than I thought possible.
What started with a few lone superhero movies turned into an almost nebulous entity of team films and solo stories that all connect. We’ve gone from watching origin stories of famous comic book characters to seeing the Avengers team come together. The movies have also taken audiences from Earth to adventures in outer space. The MCU started small and grew into a behemoth. However, the huge money maker has stumbled with its last few theatrical releases. Many blame their superhero fatigue on the sheer amount of MCU projects out there.
So, how many Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are there?
The MCU has 33 films in total as of 2023. It sounds like way more than could be out there, right? Somehow, I always think of the MCU as a thing that can be binged over a weekend. I was pretty shocked when I realized just how many were in the series. Here is a full list of all the films:

This list doesn’t include the short films or multiple television shows that are also officially canon in the MCU. So many films coming out in the same year might explain why so many people have experienced superhero fatigue recently. At first, Marvel waited one or two years before releasing another MCU film. From 2015 onward, Marvel released two to three movies per year. As much as I love comic book superheroes, there is only so much of it that audiences can take in a single year. Not to mention the creative strain on the teams working on these films. In 2021 alone, four MCU movies came out.
Recently, however, the team at Marvel Studios decided to dial down the release schedule and only have Deadpool 3 on the calendar for 2024. Hopefully, producing fewer superhero movies at once will allow the the studio to catch its breath and once again focus on quality over quantity.

No average American family has 11 acres of farmland lying around. Taylor’s family home was located in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
It’s kind of misleading when she says that she wasn’t raised in a mansion since her family home in Pennsylvania is a 3560-square-foot mansion. The house has five bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms and was described as having the aesthetics of a Georgian colonial settlement. It was built in 1929, and the Swifts bought the house in 1997.

After We Collided (2020)

After We Collided, the eagerly awaited sequel in the After series, arrived on the scene determined to outdo its predecessor in drama, angst, and, let’s not forget, smoldering glances. Directed by Roger Kumble, a connoisseur of the teen drama genre, this film picks up where the first left off, tossing us back into the turbulent ocean of Tessa and Hardin’s relationship, which, by now, resembles a rollercoaster designed by a lovelorn teenager. The story, ripe with the trials and tribulations of young love, serves jealousy and passionate reconciliations.
In this chapter, Tessa, portrayed with a mix of innocence and sass by Josephine Langford, finds herself grappling with the consequences of her whirlwind romance with Hardin, the brooding heartthrob with more mood swings than a weather forecast in spring. Dylan Sprouse joins the fray as Trevor. Much like a soap opera that accidentally stumbled onto the big screen, the film makes no apologies for its dramatic heart. Critics wagged their fingers, but fans of the franchise relished in the chaos.
After We Fell (2021)

The third installment, After We Fell, helmed by director Castille Landon, goes deeper into the labyrinthine relationship of Tessa and Hardin, a duo whose love story is starting to have more twists than a pretzel factory. In this round, the stakes are higher, the emotions more intense, and the drama is through the roof, to put it mildly. With a flourish, the film pulls family secrets, old flames, and professional setbacks out of its hat, creating an emotional feast.
Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin reprise their roles as Tessa and Hardin, delivering performances oscillating between tender vulnerability and stormy passion. After We Fell’s unwavering commitment to its narrative path, undeterred by critics’ raised eyebrows, caters unabashedly to its fanbase, who are armed with loyalty and love for the franchise.
After Ever Happy (2022)

After Ever Happy, the fourth installment of the After series, continues the taffy pull of tedium, spinning the already vanishingly wispy romance between good-girl Tessa and bad-boy Hardin. After Ever Happy throws our beloved characters into a whirlpool of conflicts, picking up right after the startling revelation in its predecessor, After We Fell. The movie starts with a bang (quite literally) as Hardin grapples with the sudden news that his supposed stepfather, Christian Vance, is his biological father.
The revelation sends Hardin spiraling into a vortex of anger and despair, leading him to resort to his old destructive habits. While Hardin grapples with his demons, Tessa is confronted with personal hardships. The shocking discovery of her father’s death from an overdose leaves her devastated and alone. The film was shot back-to-back with its predecessor After We Fell, in Bulgaria in 2020, and was released to the typical fanfare.
After Everything (2023)

The release of After Everything marked the end of an era for the After series. This installment differs from its predecessors, as it does not carry the title of the novel it’s based on. The story primarily focuses on Hardin’s journey of self-discovery and redemption in Portugal, away from Tessa. Hardin’s quest leads him to find Natalie, a woman from his past whom he had wronged. While in Portugal, he grapples with writer’s block while trying to finish his manuscript. Amid his work struggles, he also contends with the pain of his breakup with Tessa.
Hardin’s journey in Portugal presents a significant shift in his character. He realizes his past mistakes and acknowledges the need for change. He experiences a series of emotions, longing for Tessa while understanding what life could be like without her. His journey, marked by introspection and remorse, forms the film’s crux. Towards the end of the film, Tessa makes a brief appearance, leading to the rekindling of their romance and setting the stage for a dramatic climax.
You’ve come here for spoilers so that you can brace yourself for what’s to come in Episode 40 of Jujutsu Kaisen. The 39th episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, otherwise known as the 15th episode of season 2, left fans like yourself in a state of shock and rage. Jogo hadn’t been a real threat until he set Nanami Kento, Zenin Maki, and Zenin Naobito on fire after their fight against Dagon. It was implied that their next challenge would be Fushiguro Toji, who had risen from the dead. But the reanimated man chose to fight Megumi instead.
It’s no secret that Nanami Kento has a huge following of fiercely devoted fans. Aside from being animated like a god, his commitment to protecting his students and his strength as a Grade 1 Sorcerer gained him a lot of love, especially during this season.
As an anime-only watcher, you’ve probably been holding your breath up to this very moment. The answer is that he survives this attack from Jogo, albeit not unscathed. Chapter 111 of the manga also cuts off where the episode does, but Kento does survive this chapter and episode. You can breathe a sigh of relief for now, if your question only extends to his safety after being fire-hosed by Jogo.
But if you really want the complete answer, Nanami Kento does not survive the Shibuya Incident. In fact, he doesn’t last much longer after his encounter with Jogo. Shortly after being summoned by Sukuna himself, Jogo leaves his burned victims. In Chapter 120, Kento tries to locate Megumi, who was thrown off by Toji away from the group. Even in his severely injured state, all he could think about was protecting his students. He faces a hoard of disfigured spirits and defeats them, but he crosses paths with Mahito once more.
His last fight against Mahito almost got Kento killed, and he was only saved by Itadori Yuji in the first season of the anime. In his final moments, he was thinking of how nice a vacation in Malaysia would be. But Kento remembered that he still had to find his students and keep them safe. Without anybody to help him fight, Nanami Kento died looking on to Yuji. “You got it from here,” he said before being blown up by Mahito.
Many anime and manga fans disagree with Kento’s last sentiment. They can’t handle it from here and many are reeling in from the loss of this wonderful character. Yuji’s enraged charge at Mahito probably represents what the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom feels about the situation, and I’d probably do the same and obliterate that cursed spirit from existence after seeing him mercilessly disfigure Kento. I’d probably follow Kento in the afterlife shortly for doing something as absurd as that. But what can I do? I’m just an observer who can’t control the horrors unfolding before me, and so are you.
It’s disheartening that a man who always worked overtime had to clock out so soon in the game of life. But nevertheless, Nanami Kento died in honor with the thought of protecting his students. So rest in power, Nanami Kento. You will be heavily missed by Jujutsu Kaisen fans.
Another fan campaign has managed the impossible. Warrior Nun, which was unceremoniously canceled by Netflix after its second season, has been miraculously revived—though not in the way you might think.
Inspired by the comic books by Ben Dunn, Warrior Nun sees a young woman gain a new lease on life after being resurrected by a religious artifact. After her resurrection, she is forced to join the Order of the Cruciform Sword, an ancient organization tasked with protecting the Earth from demons. All the while, forces on both sides seek to control her and the powerful Halo embedded into her back.
Warrior Nun was another victim of Netflix’s ongoing cancelation spree. This cancelation caused more outrage than most, though. Warrior Nun was yet another fantasy show with a lesbian relationship front and center, axed before the characters could begin to explore their relationship on screen—and the second season’s massive cliffhanger didn’t help matters, either. Petitions were started, #SaveWarriorNun relentlessly circulated on social media, and billboards went up in front of Netflix’s offices in New York and Los Angeles. The outcry was real, and the campaign has proven genuinely effective.
Though Netflix hasn’t renewed Warrior Nun for a third season, another unrevealed studio has appointed itself as the show’s new guardian angel. Executive producer Dean English and showrunner Simon Barry revealed earlier this year that Warrior Nun will return as a movie trilogy instead.
Any major announcements about the Warrior Nun movie trilogy thus far have been hindered due to the recently resolved WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now that those are over, however, fans should expect to hear more news soon, including which cast members will return, what the trilogy will be about, production updates, potential release dates, and more.
We expect that the first movie, at least, will pick up right after season 2 left off—Netflix did, after all, leave the show with a massive cliffhanger. Ava and Sister Beatrice professed their feelings for one another for the first time in the season 2 finale, but that’s not all. Ava, the titular Warrior Nun, sacrificed herself to defeat Adriel and save the world but is now most likely stuck in another realm with no way to return home. Meanwhile, Beatrice left the Order of the Cruciform Sword after Adriel’s powers and evil tested her faith beyond its limits.
There are a lot of ways the story could continue. Thankfully, Warrior Nun fans can now rest assured that the show still has a future.
The Jedi of Star Wars are like the knights or samurai of the future (but also somehow in the past). Many regard them as heroes who defend the galaxy against the evil Sith with their trusty glowing blades. They have a strong connection to the Force and can use it to manipulate the world around them. To be a true Jedi, you must follow a strict code that eschews strong feelings and personal attachment.
Even though the Jedi can be a flawed group, we all have our favorites. Although all the Jedi have their strong points, some are more powerful than others. I have a theory that Jedi only get stronger with the next generation because the Force keeps building. Some Jedi have to walk, so others can run. So, going off of canon Jedi, I have compiled a list of the most powerful folks to wield a lightsaber.
15. Grogu

Grogu isn’t technically a Jedi, I know. He trained only for a short time, then went rogue. But he is very powerful in the Force. Since we do not know much about Grogu and Yoda, it may be that they are all this strongly connected to the Force, especially at a young age. Either way, Grogu could rank higher on the list if he ever goes back to training.
14. Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura is a Twi’lek Jedi Master featured in the prequel movies and The Clone Wars. Her powers with the Force may not be extraordinary, but her overall skills as a warrior are. Sadly, she led a group of troopers when Order 66 occurred and the brainwashed clones murdered her.
13. Kit Fisto

Kit Fisto had a lot of skill with a lightsaber. Because of his genetics, not only could he fight well on land, but he could also take that same skill underwater. However, his connection to the Force didn’t seem much higher than the average Jedi.
12. Plo Koon

Plo Koon is another Jedi Master who sadly died during Order 66. Like several of the other Jedi, he was a skilled warrior and pilot. Unlike the others, Pl Koon seemed to have a stronger connection to the telekinetic abilities. Too bad we didn’t get to see more of his skills.
11. Ezra Bridger

Ezra Bridger is considered to be a prodigy in the Force. He’s a character that we have now seen in the animated Rebels show and the live-action Ahsoka where he had some impressive moves. His training hasn’t been consistent, otherwise, he would probably be higher on the list. Something unique about Ezra and the Force is that it allows him to connect with animals. Just that power alone could do great things.
10. Count Dooku

Before Dooku fell to the dark side, he was one of the best Jedi with a lightsaber. He matched Mace Windu in ability and only Yoda could defeat him. But he went Sith and ruined his chances of being higher on the list.
9. Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos had a lot of skill with a lightsaber. But his power ranking more lies with his Force ability. Not only could he use Force telekinesis, but he connected to the Force on a deeper level, where he could feel a person’s thoughts or emotions from an object they had touched. Using this, he could track people with ease. Also, he used the Force to hide that he had turned to the dark side. But his betrayal of the Jedi code forced him lower on the list.
8. Ahsoka Tano

Trained in the Force by her two dads, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano is very powerful in the Force. She uses the Force to increase her agility during duels (that she does with two blades) and can use telekinesis with skill, including using a Force choke.
The Force even came to her through visions of the future and this allows her to communicate telepathically with other Force-sensitive beings. If she had stayed with the Jedi longer (and I support her decision in every way), and if Order 66 never happened, she may have surpassed more Jedi on the list.
7. Mace Windu

Besides just being cool (and having the only purple lightsaber), Mace Windu is one of the top Jedi duelists of all time. A powerful handle on Force telekinesis, Windu also mastered the Jedi mind trick. Maybe because of his ability to see the future, he never trusted Anakin fully, knowing he would eventually fall to the dark side. Although Windu is exceptional, he just doesn’t reach the same level as the other Jedi on the list.
6. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi (a.k.a. Ben Kenobi or Daddy-Wan Kenobi) is the grand-padawan of Count Dooku, the padawan of Qui-Gon Jinn. He trained both Anakin Skywalker and Anakin’s son, Luke. But Kenobi was more than a trainer. He used the Force (and his silver tongue) to mind-trick people and help negotiations during the war.
Also, he used his deep connection to the Force to lift large objects. With his power and lightsaber dueling abilities, he even defeated Darth Vader (not Anakin because those two would never fight). I also stand by the theory that Vader didn’t kill Kenobi. Kenobi just stopped existing since he was sick of dealing with Skywalker-related drama. One man (even a master Jedi) can only take so much.
5. Ben Solo

Before Ben Solo thought his Uncle Luke Skywalker was out to kill him, he was on the path to becoming an ultra-powerful Jedi. As the child of Leia Skywalker, the Force was strong in Ben. Lucky for him, Luke was there to teach him. Ben’s power could have met that of Luke’s, but egos and daddy issues got in the way, as they tend to do in Star Wars. Although Kylo Ren is still powerful, his chaotic anger never equaled what his power good have been if he stayed on the path of the Jedi.
4. Anakin Skywalker

Many great Jedi believed Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one to bring balance to the Force. His connection to the Force and skill with a lightsaber exceeds most Jedi. Watching Anakin duel is a thing of beauty, especially when he combines his physical skills and the Force.
If the Jedi understood Anakin’s raw power more, or if he had more hugs from Obi-Wan, he could have outranked all the other Jedi. However, his emotions and power were not channeled correctly (I could literally write a Ted Talk on this), and we got Darth Vader instead of an ultimate Jedi.
3. Yoda

Yoda is a lean, green Force machine. The oldest and wisest of the Jedi, Yoda has had 900 years to hone the Force to his needs. Whether it is lightsaber battles, telekineses, or feeling the will of the Force, he’s got it all on lockdown. He trained many of the legendary Jedi, including Dooku and Luke Skywalker. Yet even with his advanced age, his ability didn’t eclipse some younger Jedi.
2. Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker was born to be a Jedi (like his father before him). The son of “the chosen one” and trained by two Jedi greats, Luke easily found his feet as an amazing Jedi. It is like the power of those before him, added to his strengths and abilities.
After training others, Luke found ancient Jedi texts to further his own knowledge. As we saw when he used a Force projection (also called Similfuturus) to travel through space. This is honestly one of the coolest moments in Star Wars history.
1. Rey Skywalker

Much like Luke Skywalker, Rey was born to be a glowing center in the Force. It makes sense that she would take the Skywalker last name. As the daughter of a clone of Darth Sidious/Sheev Palpatine and trained by Luke Skywalker for a short time, Rey had the basic skills to become one of the greatest Jedi ever.
With only a short training window and being a young age during that time, Rey still performed amazing feats with the Force. Her Force telekinesis outperformed many Jedi before her. And her power connected with Ben Solo/Kylo Ren to create a legendary Force Dyad. We only saw some of Rey’s power, so with her, the sky is the limit.
After ten years, the anime adaptation of Attack on Titan has finally come to an end—a couple of years after its original material, which concluded back in 2021 when mangaka Hajime Isayama published the last chapter of the manga of the same name.
During both its manga and its anime run, Attack on Titan—also known by its original Japanese title, Shingeki no Kyojin, which translates more literally to “Attack Titan,” a difference that is pretty relevant for those who know how the story progresses—has undoubtedly been one of the most successful stories of its genre. I, for one, know that it deserves my eternal gratitude simply for introducing me to Captain Levi Ackerman. I might be basic, but I do love that man. He really is everything to me.
So, whether you’re new to the series or are already planning a rewatch because you miss the Survey Corps, this watch order guide, complete with all seasons and all OADs (Original Animation DVDs), might be just what you need.
How to watch Attack on Titan in narrative order
The four seasons of the show do their best to make things confusing because no anime series would be complete without a mind-bending watch order. Seasons 1 and 2 were released in full, while seasons 3 and 4 were divided into two and four parts, respectively. The first two parts of season 4 are called “The Final Season,” while parts 3 and 4 are dubbed “Final Chapter Specials”. Like I said, it’s confusing. Despite this, watching Attack on Titan is actually a pretty straightforward affair.
The four seasons run in order from episode 1 to episode 89, and ignoring the various “Final” titles in favor of sticking with the episode numbers might be for the best. In between them, there are six OADs. These are short films that did not air on television but were released directly on DVD. The OADs dive deeper into certain characters and focus on side quests parallel to the main plot.
So with that in mind, here is the best order in which to watch Attack on Titan:

How to watch Attack on Titan via in-universe chronological order
Watching a franchise’s various installments via the in-universe chronological order might be a great choice for other sagas, but it’s not ideal for Attack on Titan. Especially if it’s your first time diving into this story.
Still, if you want to give it a go, the only thing changing from the previous watch order to this one is the placement of the various OADs. The two-parter about Levi takes place years before the story of Eren, Armin, and Mikasa begins. One might argue that episodes 56 and 57 could be watched even before No Regrets since they go back decades before the main events. But that would mean completely killing any kind of narrative tension and build-up to a resolution, so it might not be the best idea.

The mega-popular Attack on Titan anime series ended last weekend, but many fans might not have been able to watch the finale yet due to licensing restrictions. So that begs the question: is Attack on Titan on Netflix?
Unfortunately, if you happen to live outside of Asian countries like Japan and Singapore, you’re pretty much out of luck. As of now, Attack on Titan is not available on Netflix for most Western countries, including the United States and the rest of North America. The anime series was taken off Netflix in June of this year and hasn’t been seen back since.
Created by animator Gooseworx, The Amazing Digital Circus is a 3D-animated web series about a clown girl named Pomni trapped in a strange place with psychotic AI characters. Fans of the series might be wondering who voices Pomni in The Amazing Digital Circus.
Going into this series, I had no idea what to expect. Everyone and their mother were talking about it on the internet. The video itself hit over 30 million views in less than two weeks. As we’ve talked about before, given the popularity of the series, it very well might get an episode 2. However, we don’t know the exact release window for that yet. With such explosive popularity, this show couldn’t have been that interesting … right?
I’m still not entirely sure if this animation is my thing or not, but the world itself is enticing. Much of the humor is reminiscent of Newgrounds animation (the part of Newgrounds that isn’t vile, at least). The pilot episode throws our protagonist into a carnival-like helter-skelter dimension that slowly gives way to absolute existential horror. It may not completely be for me, but I get it. I understand why others love this.
The standout star here is Pomni the Clown. Ignoring the … NSFW community surrounding her, Pomni skyrocketed to internet favorite overnight. She is voiced by Lizzie Freeman, who is most famous for playing Trish Una in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Her other acting credits include Yanfei in Genshin Impact, Chisato in Lycoris Recoil, Chizuru Mizuhara in Rent-a-Girlfriend, Mujika in The Promised Neverland, and many more (via IMDb).
Freeman does a fantastic job at bringing this character to life. She can capture the abject fear and existential horror in her voice while conveying a strong sense of humanity. Judging by the numbers this show is doing, it’s probably safe to say that she’s got plenty more work for her in this series to come.
In case you need another opportunity to give the Squishmallow people all your money, the toy company is putting out an advent calendar this year. Yay, but also RIP my bank balance.

There are lots of troubling existential questions when you think too hard about the fact that the Squishville world is built out of the exact same plush fabric and stuffing as the character toys. ESPECIALLY the little vehicles that all have faces (what is their deal?!) Anyway, there are lots of opportunities for your children (or you, no judgment) to play out little Christmas-themed stories and set up Christmas dioramas as the days go by.
Prices vary depending on where you source your Squishville Advent Calendar from, with Walmart coming in at a whopping $169.99 vs. Amazon’s comparatively cheap £129.99, it’s still eye-wateringly expensive wherever you go. So, tragically, it probably won’t be making an appearance in my household this year (unless a kind anonymous donor wanted to buy it for me, hint hint). But if you just love Squishmallows and happen to have that kind of money lying around, then this is your year! Fill your house with mini-mallows! Who will stop you? Certainly not me.
Okay, money is going to stop most of us from buying this advent calendar. But hey, if you can’t afford to blow a hundred-plus dollars, don’t worry. There are still plenty of full-sized Christmas-themed Squishmallows you can bring into your home for some marshmallowy soft seasonal cheer at a much more reasonable price.

The Netflix series All the Light We Cannot See is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Anthony Doerr. Like the series, the novel tells the story of Marie-Laure, a blind woman living in Paris during World War II. When German forces occupy France, Marie-Laure and her father flee to the city of Saint-Malo.
Meanwhile, an orphan named Werner is recruited into the Hitler Youth, where he’s selected to help track the French Resistance. Werner and Marie-Laure’s stories eventually converge in Saint-Malo, as Werner grapples with the atrocities his country is committing.
All the Light We Cannot See was a sensation when it came out. The novel won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize, with the prize committee calling it “an imaginative and intricate novel inspired by the horrors of World War II.” The novel was also a finalist for the National Book Award and a New York Times bestseller.

Judging from the trailers that have been released, the Netflix series hopes to capture the novel’s heart-wrenching story and sobering meditation on war. The series highlights Marie-Laure’s radio broadcast for the French Resistance, while also showing memorable details from the novel, like the scale model of Marie-Laure’s neighborhood that she uses to memorize the streets, and the jewel that she and her father hide when they flee Paris.

The Eminence in Shadow is a popular series of Japanese light novels by mangaka Daisuke Aizawa, which got an anime adaptation back in October 2022. And now, season 2, episode 5 of The Eminence in Shadow just had its release date confirmed.
Season 2 has been pretty intense so far. We last left off in episode 4 with a terrifying battle between the two companies—Major Corporate Alliance and Mitsugoshi Corporation. Shadow, the antihero leader of the Mitsugoshi Corporation, took on a disguise to fight against Gettan the Sword Devil. His plan is to use counterfeit money to disrupt Alpha’s finances.
It’s an exciting development in what has mostly been a decent anime show so far. Shadow seems to be playing 6D chess mind games while everyone else is struggling to pick up the pieces. I don’t know where this plot is heading, but it seems to be in capable hands as of now.
Season 2, episode 5 of The Eminence in Shadow will continue this conflict, resulting in even more narrative complications and deep layers to the mind game shenanigans. As of now, the episode will be released on Wednesday, November 1, in Japan at 10:30PM (JST).
What’s interesting is that Shadow Garden has grown impossibly huge. They have pretty much infinite money, some of the strongest, wealthiest members in their organization, plenty of advanced technology, overwhelming influence on monarchies in multiple countries, and own an entire private city that is pretty much impossible for anyone to find. It’s safe to say that Cid has gotten himself into some pretty high stakes that hopefully will have a payoff, eventually.
At this point, Cid’s ultimate goal is to introduce an economic depression through a series of clandestine operations. Our boy is probably going a little too hard on the whole capitalism thing, but we’ll see where it goes next.

So, to celebrate your upcoming transformations, I’m giving you all a special assignment! I’ve ranked the best werewolf movies of all time, and I’d like you all to write a report on how each of these movies relates to you.

15. The Curse of the Werewolf

Terence Fisher’s The Curse of a Werewolf is a scary little flick from the 60s, but the action takes place in the 1700s! That’s right! People have been going through these kinds of “changes” since long before you kids were born! This film tells the story of a young man named Leon, who was born on Christmas Day. People believe that being born on such a date will cause him to lead a cursed life. How wrong they were! The circumstances surrounding the young man’s birth cause him to grow into a big, hairy wolfman! How lucky! The only problem is, the surrounding townsfolk don’t seem to think so.
14. Silver Bullet
(Paramount Pictures)
Daniel Attias’ Silver Bullet is inspired by a Stephen King story called Cycle of the Werewolf. And if Steve King knows anything about anything, it’s puberty! The film is about a paraplegic boy named Marty who is convinced that a werewolf is stalking his sleepy little town. After his sister builds Marty a wheelchair that doubles as a sweet motorcycle, they head to stop the monster!
13. Wolf

How did A-list actor Jack Nicholson end up in Mike Nichols’ campy horror/drama film Wolf? Your guess is as good as mine! After a middle-aged book salesman is bitten by a werewolf, he begins to experience a pep in his step that he hasn’t felt since he was a teenager! And he uses it to eat would-be muggers in Central Park!
12. Trick’r Treat
Michael Dougherty’s Trick’r Treat is an anthology horror film about Halloween legends, but its werewolf story is one of the best around! Dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, a young girl named Laurie gets ready to go to a Halloween party with her friends. Along the way, they tease her and tell her to find a man at the party so she can have her “first time”. On the way to the party, she finds herself stalked by a masked man, but the real wolf in this situation is not who it seems!
11. Late Phases
(Dark Sky Films)
Adrián García Bogliano’s Late Phases seems like a werewolf film on the surface, but really it’s about father/son bonding! After all, who better to talk a young man through all the changes his body is going through than dear old dad? After the dear old dad in this film is moved into a retirement home by his estranged son, he realizes that the community is haunted by a werewolf. Father and son will have to team up in order to defeat the beast, and in doing so wrestle with an even bigger monster: male/male intimacy.
10. Teen Wolf
(Atlantic releasing corporation)
Teen Wolf is a clever little film about a nice young basketball player who begins undergoing some mysterious changes himself! He grows hair all over his body, and initially, it makes him so afraid that he quits his basketball team! Later at a party, he starts experiencing some urges towards one of the girls in his class, and it causes his hands to turn into claws! He goes home and talks to his father about it (something you boys should all do) and his father tells him that he too is a werewolf!
9. Wolfen

Now this movie is a little bit … scarier. But I assure you, puberty is nothing to be afraid of! As you experience these “changes” in your body, you might find yourself getting a little… emotional. You might find you want to yell into a pillow or punch a wall. You might even find that you want to maul a person to death. But don’t do that now! Or else you’ll turn up like the werewolf in this film! This werewolf attracts the attention of an NYPD detective on the mean streets of New York City who is trying to solve a series of grisly animal attacks! Wouldn’t want to end up in jail now, would you?
8. The Wolf of Snow Hollow
(Orion Classics)
Here’s another film about a werewolf who couldn’t control their urges and becomes the target of law enforcement! Except this movie takes place in a little mountain town in Utah! See, it’s not just big city people who go become werewolves—I mean, experience puberty. Everybody does it! The unfortunate thing for these townspeople is that one particular werewolf isn’t doing a very good job of controlling their new urges. The results aren’t pretty. But I know you students can do better!
7. Werewolves Within
(Ubisoft Film & Television)
This goofy little movie is all the more proof that there’s a werewolf in all of us! It’s about another small little town (I’m sensing a theme!) that begins to experience a number of mysterious maulings in the night. First, a poor little doggie is killed, then people start turning up dead. The townspeople eventually start to lose trust in each other, and accusations are thrown about. Eventually, the werewolf isn’t the only thing in the little town that turns to violence. May this movie be a lesson for you to be patient with your peers, even if one of you turns up dead. After all, they’re going through the same thing you are!
6. The Howling

The Howling is another movie on this list that’s on the darker side. It’s about a news anchor named Karen who suffers amnesia while she’s helping the police catch a serial killer who’s been stalking her. At the urging of her therapist, she and her husband go away to a sleepy little therapeutic resort to rest and recuperate. Eventually, Karen and her husband begin to experience strange goings-on at the resort, as the people there may all be suffering from a supernatural sort of ailment, if you catch my drift. But don’t worry, children, puberty isn’t supernatural. It just feels like you’re turning into a hideous monster sometimes.
5. Dog Soldiers

Sometimes, children, puberty is going to feel like a war that you’re fighting with yourself. You versus the ferocious and uncontrollable beast inside of you. You simply have to soldier on, just like the brave men in this film! They’re a group of soldiers who quite literally have to fight a horde of ferocious beasts. The film is about a squad of British soldiers who come across the scene of a massacre while on a training exercise on a full-moonlit night. The men realize that something is hunting them, and they have to take shelter in a spooky old farmhouse to wait out the night. Maybe we should lock you all in farmhouses in order to protect you from yourselves!
4. The Company of Wolves

When experiencing puberty, you may find that you start having certain kinds of dreams. If these dreams are about some teen heart-throb on the TikTok, that’s normal. However, if they’re about being chased by slavering packs of feral canines, that might be something to tell an adult about. But you’re not alone! Because that’s exactly what happens to the heroine of this film! Eventually, this young lady meets a handsome hunter in the forest, and discovers that she has an animalistic attraction to him! Again, this is totally normal! Unless of course supernatural wolves are involved. In which case, please see your guidance counselor.
3. Ginger Snaps
(Lionsgate)
Oh, this is one of the best coming-of-age werewolf movies there is! It’s about two young women named Ginger and Bridgette who live in a sleepy little part of suburbia. One night, Ginger gets something called her “period.” It’s something we’re going to cover in detail later, but, um … blood is involved. The scent of her blood causes her to be attacked by a creature in the night. However, she discovers that the next day her wounds have all healed! Her sister Bridgette senses that something is wrong, however, and has to figure out a way to save Ginger from the lupine fate that awaits her!
2. The Wolf Man

If you learn anything from this film, children, it’s that people have been going through puberty for generations, even those old-timey people who talk in those funny accents! It’s about a man who, due to his unstrained urges, buys an antique silver cane in order to impress the cute shopkeeper. As he is walking home, he is attacked by a wolf! He thwacks it to death with his fancy new cane, but he later learns that he has actually murdered a man! Later on, he meets a Romani woman who tells him that he killed her son and that he is now a werewolf! Let it be a lesson to you, children, never spend money on “drip” in order to “stunt” on a “shortie.” You’ll only end up hurting yourself!
1. An American Werewolf In London

Here it is, children, the greatest werewolf film of all time! The film was probably inspired by a very talented man named Warren Zevon, who wrote what you children would call a “banger” about werewolves in the United Kingdom! It’s about two young men named Jack and David who are attacked by a wolf while backpacking through the British countryside on a moonlit night. Poor Jack is killed by the wolf, while the other boy David survives. However, David soon begins having some strange dreams! He begins dreaming about his best friend (something many of you children may soon experience for yourselves) who warns David that he didn’t come out of the attack unscathed. David is cursed to go through a series of extraordinary changes himself!
Just like you adorable children are cursed to turn into filthy teenagers! The film features perhaps the greatest werewolf transformation ever recorded, and the sequence is set to another “banger” called “Bad Moon Rising,” written by Mr. John Fogarty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. My stars, I sure had some urges having to do with that man when I was your age!
Well children, I certainly hope that clears up some of your questions about puberty. Now, if you all will please open your textbooks to page – oh no! I’ll have none of that eye-rolling sass! Like you, I’m rather tired myself. I had a rather late night last night. I can simply never sleep during a full moon, but I haven’t the faintest idea why!
One beauty of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that it contains stories within the larger story that you can watch on their own if it strikes your fancy. Here’s how to watch the Captain America movies in order, from the story of the boy from Brooklyn and beyond.
First and foremost, I’ll track Steve Rogers’ three-movie arc in the MCU as the Star-Spangled Man With a Plan. I’ll add some additional material and tell you where Chris Evans as Steve appears as Cap in the Avengers films, too. They’re not really necessary as long as you’re at least a little familiar with his friends from work, but it helps to know where they fall in the order. Ultimately, your Captain America marathon can be as long or as short as you like! It is entirely up to you. The order itself is not complicated–chronological and release order is the same. The only things I’m not including are the Evans cameos in Thor: The Dark World and Spider-Man Homecoming.
All of the below titles can be streamed on Disney+ and rented wherever you rent movies. You could also, if you’re feeling wild, buy a box set of the first three movies. And don’t forget about your local library!
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Let’s start at the very beginning. In the 2011 film, we meet Steve Rogers, a scrawny boy from Brooklyn who desperately wants to serve his country and fight fascist bullies in World War II. His pure heart makes him a perfect candidate for a super soldier serum under development by the Strategic Scientific Reserve, a top-secret military agency. At first, the government just wants to use Steve a.k.a. Captain America as a symbol. It isn’t until his friend Bucky Barnes is captured that he becomes a hero.
But then, alas, Bucky falls off a train and Steve falls into the ice. So clumsy! Decades later, S.H.I.E.L.D. (which was born out of the S.S.R.) uncovers his body and revives him.
Steve Rogers appears next in The Avengers (2012)

As the wholesome fish out of the water, Steve serves as an audience surrogate in the film. His particular blend of loyalty and skepticism (plus punching) makes him an asset on the superhero team.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
After The Avengers, Steve Rogers adjusts to his life as a man out of time. He even makes a new friend in fellow veteran and counselor Sam Wilson, a.k.a. The Falcon. But the past comes back to haunt him when an assassin targetting Nick Fury turns out to be Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier and a.k.a. his best friend. Since disappearing during WWII, Bucky has been brainwashed, given super strength and a bionic arm, and kept in a cryostasis container between missions.
Steve Rogers appears next in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Sam and Steve briefly mention the search for Bucky, but otherwise, Cap takes something of a backseat in this film. Wanda’s illusions do reveal his inability to move on from World War II and live his life. But the most notable thing he does is tear a log in half with his bare hands.
Agent Carter Seasons 1 & 2 (2015-2016)
Cap is technically not in this show. Watching this does break the release and chronological time continuum because it takes place chronologically between five minutes before the end of The First Avenger and five minutes between the end of Avengers:Endgame. However, this is my list, and I say that true fans of Captain America in the MCU should include the series about his former (and maybe future, whatever) best girl. Not only does it center characters from The First Avenger but it’s thematically as much of a Captain America story as any of the films. If you really want to be a completist, start with the Agent Carter one-shot as well.
The first season digs into how both Peggy Carter and Howard Stark mourn losing Steve. There’s an incredible bit in an early episode about a radio program that portrays Peggy as a damsel in distress. Some of the Howling Commandos make a brief appearance. You get to meet the OG Jarvis, the butler who went on to raise Tony Stark, and he’s a hoot! Peggy even has her very own Black Widow, though they’re not always on the same team. In the second season, Peggy gets her groove back and becomes even more of a hero in her own right. She does what Steve is actually never able to do–she moves on.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)

The third Captain America film, and for all intents and purposes the end of the Steve Rogers trilogy involves so many MCU heroes (and introduces Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man) that it feels more like Avengers 2.5 than Captain America 3. However, it is a continuation of his story. Cap may be a symbol of patriotism, but Steve Rogers has always forged his own path and pushed back against the institutions that seek to control him. In the first movie, it was the U.S. Army. In the second, it was the U.S. government. And in the third, it was the Avengers themselves. Oh, and Tony Stark also learned that Steve sorta knew that his BFF Bucky killed Howard and Maria Stark whilst brainwashed. He kind of forgot to tell him, and it caused a whole thing!
Steve Rogers appears next in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

At the start of the duology, Steve and “Team Cap” are on the run after refusing to sign the Sokovia Accords (and some other things) in Civil War. They got up to stuff. Steve also grew a beard. After half of the universe gets snapped away, he eschews Avengers leadership and runs a support group. The gang finally reunites and pulls a time heist where Steve revisits some events and people from his past, and puts the world right again. When the battle is done, Steve “retires” by going back in time to live out his days with Peggy–who despite multiple promotions and love interests on Agent Carter seems to be living single in the suburbs with not much else going on. He also officially passes the torch shield to Sam.
Are Steve and Peggy in a new timeline that he created with this choice? Or was Steve actually Peggy’s husband all along, and she neglected to tell him this in her old age? When he kissed Sharon Carter, was he kissing his own niece? Amazingly, almost five years later Big Marvel still has not answered definitively. Do not try to ‘splain it to me in the comments! I’ve done the research! I’ve been on the ground! You can find interviews that “confirm” both possibilities. Ugh!!
The Falcon & The Winter Soldier (2021)
Like Agent Carter, this Marvel television series features cast and characters from the Captain America movies but not Steve Rogers himself. Unlike Agent Carter, this series features not one, or two, but three characters who carry the moniker “Captain America.” Sam Wilson isn’t sure whether or not he wants to step into Steve Rogers’ footsteps. So, the government stepped in and offered the “job” of Captain America to a soldier named John Walker. Sam knows that symbolically representing the United States would be different for him as a Black man in America. He then meets Isaiah Bradley, a Korean War veteran and supersoldier, who was experimented on and imprisoned by both the US and Hydra. This confirms Sam’s worst fears and more. But when Walker goes rogue and shames the Captain America name, Sam reluctantly steps up and claims it for himself.
Captain Carter appears in What If Season 1 and Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Captain America: Brave New World (2024)
We don’t know what’s to come in the fourth Captain America film, but the first to be led by Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson. Can he be Captain America on his own terms? We’ll still have to wait to find out.

Residents of Los Angeles have reported a pop-up Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria on 8301 Sunset Boulevard. However, the restaurant appears to not yet be open for business. If/when it does open, it will almost certainly have the pizza boxes available for guests to take home.
