    It took a while—and over 1000 runway images—to finally wrap our heads around the contents of fashion month. For the first time in a long time, the runways this fall/winter season had an almost tangible air of newness to them, with a handful of designer debuts—including Daniel Lee at Burberry and Ludovic de Saint Sernin at Ann Demeulemeester—and a number of veterans successfully refreshing their brands in the eyes of the fashion community. Most substantial, though, were the trends presented by these designers and so many more, who managed to deliver some of the most unexpected groupings we’ve seen in ages that somehow still fit within the current zeitgeist. 

    Tory Burch, Miuccia Prada for Prada and Miu Miu, Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, and Matthieu Blazy for Bottega Veneta all seemed to grasp what so many have tried and failed to in the past—that is, what women actually wear. In a relatable move, Prada sent models down the runway at Miu Miu looking intentionally frazzled, having remembered to wear stockings and outerwear but forgotten pants and a hairbrush.

    Elsewhere, Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent collection displayed a contrasting glimpse of the female form, one that’s strict in its put-togetherness, utilizing intensely strong tailoring and powerful silhouettes to get his message across. Finally, at Loewe, Ferragamo, and Jil Sander, our desire for comfort played out in the form of furry footwear, fashionable security blankets, and apparel fitted with oversize hoods.

    Melody Willis-Williams, the president of Vegas Weddings, which operates multiple wedding venues shared “Anytime you get these specialty dates, they’re always hugely popular. But tie that in with New Year’s Eve and it’s a showstopper.”  The record of  4,492 for marriages in Las Vegas set on 7. July 2007. The day of the “lucky sevens.”

    Of course, Vegas has always had iconic locations – from the Golden Steer Las Vegas – home to massive steaks and lobsters to the kitschy Vegas sign and Bellagio fountain shows…Vegas gives you are reason to return again and again. The Spheres are the current showstopper.  Social media as blown as at the $2 billion globe like arena the outside has transformed from the Rocketttes to a Christmas Ornament mesmerizing locals and online community. And this is the first full year to make a splash and fill it with action, music and wonder. Look for Phish, U-2, and, rumor has it, Harry Styles to be part of their lineup.

    It’s Succession meets Knives Out—only this Hollywood-like plot is real.

    Nicolas Puech, 80, the estranged Hermès heir, announced a bold plan to adopt his 51-year-old former gardener and handyman to bequeath him his $11 billion fortune. Puech is the grandson of the founder of the fashion giant and owns 5.7% of the company.

    According to the Swiss publication Tribune de Genève, the reclusive Peuch has little contact with his family. Single and childless, he considers the gardener (whose name has not been released) to be like kin. Not much else is known publicly about the gardener besides that he comes “from a modest Moroccan family” and has a Spanish wife and two children.

    Reversal of fortune

    Previously, Peuch promised to hand over his money to his foundation. But earlier this year, he had a change of heart, sending a “handwritten note” to the foundation expressing his wishes for a new succession. Shockwaves ensued.

    With no direct heirs to his name, the billionaire may get away with his plan. But not without major legal hurdles. According to Tribune de Genève, adopting an adult child in Switzerland is complicated—add that the adoptee stands to earn billions, and it becomes a high-stakes battle.

    Bad blood

    This is not the first time Puech has clashed with his family. In 2014, he left Hermès board of directors after a hostile takeover bid by fashion rival LVMH. But he retained his shares, making him among the wealthiest individuals in Switzerland. He now lives in a mansion with 66 other inhabitants in La Fouly, according to El Pais.

    Hermès, now the third-largest publicly listed company in France worth an estimated $200 billion, is no stranger to the spotlight. Still, this latest development has taken center stage, evoking questions and curiosity about the future of this storied empire.

    If you’re in New York City or follow anyone on Instagram or TikTok who is, you’re probably already all too aware of the temperature situation. It’s New York Fashion Week, which means that everyone remotely involved in the industry is running around the city, attending presentations, runway shows, and parties, all the while dealing with near-100º temps, equally high levels of humidity, and intermittent thunderstorms and periods of blazing-hot sunshine. We’re surviving, sure, but it’s most definitely not comfortable.

    That being said, everyone’s on high alert when it comes to chic hot-weather outfits, scanning the crowds outside of shows for inspiration on what to wear to beat the heat. And while I don’t usually like to brag, I’m happy to do so right now after I spotted Sofia Richie Grainge wearing the perfect (albeit unexpected) garment for every New Yorkers’ current predicament: a nightgown. Specifically, a Prada nightgown from the Italian brand’s spring ’23 runway collection, which she paired with a burgundy Hermès Kelly bag and matching velvet Mary-Jane flats. She also accessorized with chunky gold hoops, black sunglasses, and a classic silver timepiece. The caption on her photos of the look? “97 in NYC = Prada night gown.” 

    Though I sadly won’t be able to quite afford Richie’s off-the-runway nightgown, the look is certainly inspiring me to get creative with my styling, putting aside normal dressing rules and picking out items that feel comfortable in this weather—even if they are typically worn to bed.     Whenever I’m looking to put together an outfit that elevates me from 27-year-old with a tendency to shop instead of save to 27-year-old who’s unbothered about money because she has so much of it, I look to *the* luxury dresser Jennifer Lopez. As someone who regularly dons the most lavish of designer labels, from Brunello Cucinelli and Ralph Lauren to Hermès and Dior, the actress and singer knows a bit—read a lot—about looking rich, making her an obvious source of inspiration.

    Proof of this lies in her most recent street-style sighting, which shows her wearing a muted color palette of cognac and mocha brown and combining fabrics like suede, silk, and denim. Specifically, Lopez wore an A.L.C. brown blazer and white blouse with straight-leg jeans, platform heels, oversize sunglasses, and the most gorgeous cognac-colored suede Birkin I’ve ever seen. The result? The kind of low-key ensemble that immediately comes to mind when you think of casual luxury.

    Unfortunately, with such an elevated wardrobe, getting J.Lo’s exact look, especially her bag, will come at a significant price. Luckily, the suede-bag trend is everywhere right now for fall, making it easy to mimic her outfit without completely breaking the bank.     After our slightly ’80s-inspired (and very loud luxury) cover spread starring none other than 2023’s It girl Sofia Richie Grainge, I can’t say I was surprised to find a slideshow featuring one of the era’s biggest and most relevant-right-now trends pop up on her Instagram feed. That’s not to say I wasn’t happy to see it there, especially since I’ve been rallying behind the vintage outerwear’s return to fame for quite some time now. If you haven’t yet guessed, I’m referring to the tapered-in, gold-buttoned, big-shouldered blazers and jackets from the oft-slept-on decade in fashion that—thanks to brands like Saint Laurent, Alaïa, Schiaparelli, and more—are making a massive comeback for fall. 

    Richie Grainge, in particular, chose a highlighter-yellow take on the style, with hers featuring a military-style collar and a long-line silhouette. Though the photos, which she captioned with just a lemon emoji, don’t show her entire ‘fit, she appears to be wearing black jeans and carrying an Hermès Swift Kelly bag, a style that’s currently on sale for over $15,000 (casual). 

    While styles similar to Richie Grainge’s are all over the secondhand market—I have a habit of checking the RealReal for them every morning before I get up—brands like Zara, H&M, and more are, too, getting in on the ’80s-blazer trend, making it both easy and affordable to mimic the newlywed’s look.     When I was 19, I worked in a small clothing boutique that sold a surprisingly impressive designer assortment for a college town such as mine. On the ready-to-wear side, its racks were lined with Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Lauren Manoogian, and Samuji. And for denim, we exclusively sold Frame Denim, the brand every LA and NYC fashion girl was wearing at the time. I adored every pair from the brand and too often spent my entire paycheck on jeans. 

    One pair, in particular, that I bought and subsequently wore roughly three times a week every summer for years, was Frame’s Le Skinny de Jeanne style in white. When I graduated and moved to New York, I left a ton of clothing items behind, donating most of them and selling the rest. Those jeans were one of the pieces I parted ways with, an act I’m now very much regretting after spotting the exact same pair on none other than Meghan Markle. 

    Markle was seen exiting an office in Montecito, California wearing arguably the chicest, most luxurious outfit I’ve ever seen, consisting of a camel-colored robe coat, a cream sweater, an Hermès shawl, Chanel slingbacks, and an oversize, all-white Goyard tote. But even with all of that draped on her, the fashion item that my eyes were immediately drawn to were her jeans, the same exact pair of white Frame skinnies that I owned in college. Envious, I immediately started searching the internet for a pair to replace the ones I got rid of five years ago.

    Think it’s impossible to experience Hermès first-hand? Think again. The stars came out in droves over the weekend to enjoy the luxury brand‘s latest experiential endeavor, a poetic and cinematic performance dubbed On the Wings of Hermès. And tickets are now available to the public.

    Loosely chronicling the tale of Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, the experience is an ode to oneirism, otherwise known as daydreaming. “It is an experience which sparks the imagination, designed by artisans of dreams,” says Hermès Artistic Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas. According to the press release, dancers, choreographers, lighting, and image technicians work together in a joyous, magical extravaganza that features a humorous opera sung by a cast of Hermès Kelly bags, a mini circus, and incredible movement.

    Goodbye Trucker Hats: Harley-Davidson Is Entering High Fashion

    The luxury retail market is no stranger to brands stepping out of their comfort zones and into the world of fashion. Think: Hermes switching from saddles to purses, Louis Vuitton pivoting from luggage to fashion, and more recently, Tiffany & Co. collaborating with Nike. And yes, sometimes it can work perfectly (LV)…but sometimes, it fails (Tiffany).


    It’s the age-old question: should we branch out as a brand and sell our souls to the runway…or should we stick to what we know? For most brands, the answer is it’s worth a shot. And for Harley-Davidson, fashion isn’t as much of a stretch as you’d think.

    You know the Harley logo, and you’ve seen the massive storefronts that apparently don’t just sell two-wheelers. You see, those ubiquitous trucker hats and baby tees embossed with that recognizable orange logo already make the motorcycle company a ton of cash. They did $270 million in clothing sales alone in 2022.

    So it’s no surprise that they’re scaling up from logo trucker hats to make a real play at entering the fashion world. They even tapped former Yeezy co-creator Louise Goldin as Harley’s first-ever creative director to lead the way. Goldin’s genius aided the infamous Kanye “Ye” West in creating his siganture monochromatic streetwear that has been endlessly iterated by brands everywhere.

    And now, Goldin will try her hand at appealing to a younger, trendier market with Harley-Davidson’s fashion moment. That’s right…they aren’t looking to reel in more 40-50-year-old predominantly male customers. It’s about a real shot at the fashion world, on runways and at Fashion Weeks everywhere.

    The new wave of Harley-Davidson, titled “H-D Collections,” will feature elevated takes on the classic Harley look. Graphic tees, sleeker designs, and subtle logos are wrapped into a blend of chic streetwear and functional workwear. With Goldin’s expertise, the brand isn’t straying too far from themselves, while still leaping away from the gimmicky t-shirts with eagles on the front.

    H-D Collections

    And of course, there’s leather. It wouldn’t be a biker’s dream line if there weren’t a splash of black leather jackets and moto pants. The collection includes H-D Originals, which delves more into the graphic tee-side of Harley’s iconic look. It’ll also feature an authorized vintage program for the nostalgic Harley fan.

    Another collection under the new Harley Davidson is Bar & Shield, which is Goldin’s most expensive line for the brand. Prices range from $95 t-shirts all the way up to $1,500 for those iconic leather jackets.

    Goldin is known for using unique fabrics that aren’t mass produced by other brands quite yet. This makes her visions perfect for the new world of Harley-Davidson, especially because she was drawn to the engineering behind it all. Their values are similar, if for different reasons: Goldin sees the beauty in engineering fabrics…Harley sees the beauty in engineering bikes.

    With an already solid foothold in the clothing world, it’s easy to see how Harley could go the wrong direction. Too many scorned traditionalist HD fans who feel isolated from the newer, younger crowd that Harley is trying to draw in. The “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality.

    However, this could be the start of a new dynasty under Goldin’s reign. Goldin, a fashion nepo-baby in her own right who has worked with big names like Donatella Versace herself, whose collections have been worn by Rihanna and Katy Perry…pairing with the traditional motorbike giant Harley-Davidson can only mean big things for the brand.

    Whereas the Nike x Tiffany collaboration failed to commemorate the brand’s roots; Harley-Davidson’s entrance into the fashion community remains classic, yet progressive.

    In a world of luxury items, we are no strangers to high-end fashion brands intermingling with mass-market fashion. Hermès, once known for producing saddles, eventually made their way into the world with their bags. Louis Vuitton, the luggage empire, is now a leading face in fashion weeks everywhere. Tiffany, however, has stuck to jewelry.


    Tiffany’s robin’s egg blue demeanor and solid silver have satisfied customers for countless years. But recently, they’ve decided to market to a different, younger demographic. Look no further than their most recent attempt with the “1837 Collection” collaboration with Nike for the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1.

    For Nike, it’s another score. For Tiffany, it leaves questions. The brand, acquired by LVMH in 2021, has hailed multiple collabs with big names like Jay-Z & Beyonce, Hailey Bieber, and Blackpink’s Rosé in an attempt to reach a younger generation of sales. Yet, longtime Tiffany fans have had an issue with most of these campaigns.

    The $400 AF1 is all black leather with a robin’s egg blue swoosh, complete with a Tiffany silver shoe horn, silver brush, attachable silver whistle, and laces. Dropping on March 3, the resale value already rests at $1,850 on StockX. And while Nike has successfully collabed with other LVMH brands like Dior and Louis Vuitton, Tiffany’s take on the iconic Nike classic falls short.

    The shoe itself does little to represent Tiffany’s brand identity. The shoe buckle on the laces is leather when there is a clear opportunity to incorporate Tiffany’s well-known silver. The predominantly black leather is no ode to anything about the brand. People are saying they’re trying too hard to appeal to sneakerheads, suggesting buying the shoe to melt down the silver appliques.

    It’s not Tiffany’s only grasp at relevancy with a younger crowd this year, either. The brand released a sold-out NFT, solidifying the notion that they are aiming for a new audience. It follows the controversial “Not Your Mother’s Tiffany” campaign from July 2021.

    The campaign brandished buildings with billboards of models against a plain backdrop sporting t-shirts and loose denim. Accompanying the new, edgy look were slogans like “tell us again silver’s dated…we dare you.” The idea? They’re no longer the Tiffany’s that your mother wore…they’re cool now.

    But the longtime supporters of the silver jewelry titan took offense. Why alienate one sector of consumers to appeal to another? What was wrong with your mother buying Tiffany? And what was wrong with the classic, luxurious feel that Tiffany once provided?

    Just like Victoria’s Secret taking away the Angels to promote diversity, Tiffany missed the point. People love the timeless look of Tiffany, and they don’t care that their mother owned it. People’s mothers own Cartier and every girl out there still wants the LOVE bracelet. They want a solid brand identity that doesn’t mold to a specific age range.

    We’ve seen plenty of examples of successful rebrands in recent years. The return of “dad shoes” like New Balance, ASICS, and Crocs have all been welcomed with open arms. Brands you once declared dead are resurrected.

    And yet, surprisingly, Tiffany is still raking in the cash. They reported a record year in 2022 with the high jewelry revenue doubling. However, every campaign is alienating a potential customer.

    When you think about Tiffany’s, you think of Audrey Hepburn-esque luxury. So why are they trying so hard to change that? Maybe they’re losing customers in the older age range and feel they need to force their way into younger markets by any means necessary. Or maybe they’re just too out of touch to realize that no one likes a copycat.

    With creative director Ruba Abu-Nimah stepping down this year only two years after being appointed, it’s tough to imagine how Tiffany will mold their brand identity. While fans are calling for embracing tradition and sticking to what they know, Tiffany appears to be doing just fine on their own.

The resale value of this bag also retains or increases depending on leather and hardware. It’s also a constant favorite of Alexa Chung, Rita Ora, Demi Lovato, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Lauren Conrad.”

    “Another bag to consider for investment is the Chanel Boy Bag,” says Le Prix. “While the Boy Bag is fairly new, introduced in 2011, it’s now a mainstay, joining the ranks of the classic flaps and reissue flaps. Five years ago, this bag started at $2500. Today the Chanel Boy Bag starts at $5100. It typically retains at least 90% of its resale value.
