Two Frisco restaurants were closed, and two others had problems with roaches in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from Dec. 28 through Jan. 10 and 92 inspections.
Frisco’s restaurant inspections function on a demerit system: When the total number of demerits exceeds 30, the inspector may close the establishment at their discretion. The decision is based on the establishment’s history of compliance, the nature of the violations and other risk factors.
Two food establishments were closed because of a lack of functioning hot water:
Vitality Bowls Eldorado, 5105 Eldorado Parkway, had a score of 10.
Hold My Chai, 5266 Independence Parkway, had a score of 7.
Two other establishments were noted to have issues with roaches:
Desibites Frisco, 2525 Main St., had a score of 24. Inspectors observed live roaches on a can opener.
Shoji Sushi Hibachi, 2575 Main St., had a score of 21. Inspectors observed a live roach in the warewashing area.
