  • ‘Hawkeye’ star allegedly sent unwanted nudes and threatened to call ICE on his ex | The Mary Sue

    [ad_1]

A big Marvel star has serious allegations levied against him on social media and a recent report lays a ton of claims out there. The Daily Beast posted a lengthy story about Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner allegedly threatening a female filmmaker.

Other details from the report include the MCU actor threatening to “call ICE” on Yi Zhou according to her social media. The Daily Mail also interviewed the 37-year-old filmmaker about her alleged dating history with Renner. She says that he sent “unsolicited pornographic images of himself” in some Instagram posts this week.

In The Daily Beast’s account of the events, Zhou said that she was dating Renner previously. She alleges that during the period they were making a documentary and an animated film together, the relationship began. The filmmaker told The Daily Beast that he introduced himself over WhatsApp and things escalated from there. The Daily Mail says that they have screenshots of her alleged messages with Renner. There are alleged short porn video clips in those records from June too. During a meeting for Chronicles of Disney, Zhou says she feared for her life because of Renner’s temper.

On social media, Zhou wrote, “I’m worried for other women who will be victim and might have been victim being used as a sexual object,  abused and destroyed in such a manner. Hollywood hides these men and bad behavior for the sake of money, but do we still need to be a silent victim in the post me 2 era? I thank the media reporters that reached out to me and are willing to support me unpack the truth we need to endure in today’s Hollywood, and help other women to tell the truth.”

The most shocking part of the reporting stems from claims that Jeremy Renner allegedly threatened to call ICE on Yi Zhou after she confronted him for not promoting their movie together. WhatsApp messages obtained by The Daily Mail have Renner allegedly responding “Immigration will be notified of your-” when she pressed him about sending lewd photos of himself in different apps. On social media, the filmmaker is posting all kinds of statements about Renner and about Hollywood in general. Representatives for the Marvel star have not responded to inquiries about the veracity of these claims.

Zhous posted on Instagram, “When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me.”

All of these allegations follow Renner’s legal history with his ex-wife. Sonni Pacheco also accused the Marvel star of abusive behavior. They were married for 10 months, beginning in 2014. Renner would deny those allegations in an interview with The Guardian. The Hawkeye actor currently shares joint custody of his daughter with Pacheco. This is a developing story.

  • 'Echo's Place on the MCU Timeline Is Mercifully Straightforward

'Echo's Place on the MCU Timeline Is Mercifully Straightforward

    [ad_1]

    (Disney)

All five episodes of Echo are now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, continuing the story of Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox). But, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s timeline constantly getting bigger and more convoluted, you might be wondering when exactly Echo takes place. Is it before or after the Blip? Is that giant dude from Eternals sticking out of the ocean yet? Has that multiversal war happened!?

Don’t worry, the timing of Echo is actually pretty straightforward. Here’s when Echo takes place in the MCU!

Echo follows Maya Lopez during the aftermath of attempt to kill Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). When she heads home to Oklahoma to try and strike back against Kingpin’s remaining forces, she’s forced to confront the family she left behind—especially since Kingpin survived her attack, and he’s coming for her.

Echo takes place after Hawkeye, and probably before Daredevil: Born Again

We first meet Maya in Hawkeye, in which Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) passes the torch … uh, bow and quiver to Kate Bishop (Hailee Stanfield). In Hawkeye, Maya is one of Kingpin’s lieutenants, but she turns on him when Barton tells her that Kingpin ordered her father killed. At the end of Hawkeye, Maya shoots Kingpin in the face.

Episode 1 of Echo recaps the events of Hawkeye, then catches up with Maya five months later. Thanks to that timing—and the fact that Hawkeye takes place during Christmas—we know that Echo takes place in May, after the events of Hawkeye.

But when is that? According to the official MCU timeline, Hawkeye takes place in December 2025, which puts Echo in May 2025. The Blip, the period in which half the universe is erased from existence, goes from 2018 to 2023 in the MCU. That means that Echo takes place about two years after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The major events of Echo span only a few days.

What about the end of Echo? I’m avoiding spoilers in this article, so I won’t say too much, but it definitely seems to set up Daredevil: Born Again. Will we see more of Maya in the future? I hope so.

  • ‘Rogers: The Musical’ Will Become a Real Show At Disneyland

‘Rogers: The Musical’ Will Become a Real Show At Disneyland

    [ad_1]

In the Hawkeye Disney+ series, Clint Barton and his family go to see a musical centered around the Avengers. Now tourists will get to experience what it’s like to see a weirdly uncomfortable Broadway show based on a Marvel concept when Rogers: The Musical is turned into a real stage show at  Disneyland’s California Adventure Park later this year.

In HawkeyeRogers: The Musical is just a short gag so Barton can make fun of the inaccuracies, but the production basically mounted a lengthy excerpt from the show, with music by real Broadway composers, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. If you managed to stick around through the credits of the last episode of Hawkeye without hopping into your next binge, you’re treated to a full-length version of the track.

Shaiman talked about the possibilities you have in an Avengers musical back in 2021, explaining that there are plenty of avenues for the story to take.

There are a million things that you could create in a Marvel musical, especially with Steve Rogers. The fact that he exists in the ’40s as well would allow us to write a whole lot of different genres, so the whole Marvel story would take place over decades. It would be a thrill to get to do that.

The official Disney Parks Twitter page has released a short teaser, which implies that the musical will be “Coming Soon.” The musical will be hitting Disney California Adventure Park as a one-act play sometime this summer.

The fact that Peggy Carter is the one looking at the playbill for Rogers: The Musical seems to suggest that she will appear in the show as well. (The Hawkeye version was basically just the one sequence inspired by The Avengers, so they’re going to have to write a bunch more material, even for a one-act show.
