An 18-year-old man accused of gunning down two teenage boys at a Chula Vista house party pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of murder.
David Garcia is accused of opening fire on Kane Roldan, 15, and Elias Yanez, 17, at a Halloween party attended by more than 100 people. Police responded to the East Prospect Street home just after 11 p.m. to find both boys with gunshot wounds. The teens later died at a hospital.
Along with the murder counts, he faces a charge of negligently discharging a firearm for allegedly shooting into the air some time before the teens were shot. He also faces a special circumstance allegation of committing multiple murders.
If he is convicted of the murder counts, plus the special circumstance allegation, he would face life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty, should prosecutors pursue capital punishment.
At Garcia’s arraignment, Deputy District Attorney Jack Yeh said Garcia showed multiple people at the party that he had a gun tucked into his waistband.
Prior to the fatal shooting, the prosecutor said Garcia got into an altercation with someone, then fired the gun into the air to scare the person away.
Later, Garcia allegedly got into an fight with a friend of the victims. When the boys attempted to aid their friend, Garcia shot them both, Yeh said.
Garcia remains in custody without bail.
Family members of Roldan, of San Diego, and Yanez, of Imperial Beach, have created GoFundMe pages to assist with funeral costs and support their loved ones.
According to the fundraising pages, Roldan’s memorial will be on Nov. 24, while plans for Yanez’s service are pending.

Costume lovers flooding Walmart’s aisles last month in preparation for Halloween had little idea how much calculation went into stocking this year’s superhero, witch, and zombie outfits. Amid the Trump administration’s fluctuating tariffs, Walmart’s seasonal planning, which begins months in advance, now includes projecting how levies might change before orders arrive, estimating potential price shifts and guessing how many units will sell, according to CEO Doug McMillon. All that comes on top of analyzing how inflation may affect consumer behavior.
“Families prioritize their children and their pets before they prioritize the parents, and a mom usually puts herself last,” McMillon said while speaking at the Harvard Business Review’s Future of Business event today (Nov. 3). “These trade-offs happen throughout the family.”
Walmart factored those dynamics into its Halloween strategy this year. “We were confident there would be trick or treating and children’s costumes would sell, but we might not sell as many adult costumes,” he said, adding that the company has “done a really good job of generally getting things right” amid the uncertainty caused by tariffs.
As America’s largest retailer, Walmart manufactures more than two-thirds of its products domestically. But it still depends on imports from countries such as China, Mexico, Canada and Vietnam, leaving it exposed to tariffs. Earlier this year, the Bentonville, Ark.-based company warned that the duties could force it to raise prices.
Price hikes are just one of several difficult choices Walmart executives face under tariff pressure. Other decisions include shifting production, changing countries of origin and managing inventory. Inventory management can be an especially delicate task, according to McMillon. “If you get over-inventoried, you end up with all these additional costs,” he said. “If you have too little goods, you end up missing sales opportunities.”
It’s not the first time Walmart has had to make quick decisions in response to an unprecedented event. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, for instance, accelerated the company’s decision-making as executives worked to protect employees and customers while maintaining supply chains. Those efforts paid off: Walmart’s profits surged in 2020 as consumers stocked up on essentials, spent stimulus checks, and embraced the retailer’s online shopping and curbside pickup options.
McMillion credits Walmart’s pandemic-era success to the agility of its associates across stores, supply chains and warehouses. “What I experienced is just how good their judgment was and how fast they could make decisions,” he said. The same adaptability, he added, is proving essential again as Walmart navigates tariff-fueled uncertainty.
“The way they’ve managed through this whole, ever-changing complex situation, too, has been impressive—just like it was during the pandemic,” he said.

Navy Yard Halloween melee prompts new curfew for youths
D.C. police said a total of 18 curfew violators were stopped by officers on the first night of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s limited juvenile curfew, which went into effect Saturday.
The curfew was implemented in response to an incident Halloween night where D.C. police, as well as Metro and Capitol Police, worked alongside the National Guard to disperse a large group of teens that had congregated in the Navy Yard neighborhood.
Five arrests were made, with charges ranging from possession of a knife to resisting arrest.
Special juvenile curfew zones have been established in Navy Yard, the U Street Corridor and along Union Station and the Banneker Recreation Center.
Anyone under 18 cannot be in the zones without an adult between the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. A citywide youth curfew then goes into effect at 11 p.m. and lasts until 6 a.m.
Under the mayor’s order, those curfews are set to take effect every night through Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. But, in recent weeks, Bowser has called on the D.C. Council to enact a permanent curfew.
On Saturday night, D.C. police said they stopped 14 juveniles who refused to leave one of the established curfew zones in the area of 14th and U Street, Northwest around 10:40 p.m.

Early Saturday, at approximately 12:24 a.m., officers found two juveniles in violation of the citywide curfew in the 1100 block of New Jersey Avenue SE. Two more were found in the area of 9th and U Street NW, just before 3 a.m.
Police said youths who were engaged by officers generally complied and dispersed the zones when asked.

Nina Dobrev seemingly used her Halloween costume to poke fun at her recent broken engagement with Shaun White.
The Vampire Diaries alum, 36, unveiled snaps of her tongue-in-cheek Halloween fit on Saturday, November 1, revealing that she dressed up as Jennifer Tilly’s character Tiffany from the 1998 horror classic Bride of Chucky. Dobrev went all out for her Bride of Chucky look — including getting a fake chest tattoo of Chucky’s name over a pierced heart, just like in the movie.
Dobrev even carried around a miniature doll of Tiffany’s main squeeze, Chucky, as she partied with friends. In one slide, the Chucky doll was shown lying helpless and alone on a table.
Dobrev’s costume may have been a subtle jab at her ex-fiancé since White — like Chucky — is known for his fiery red hair.

Two teens died Friday in a shooting at a Chula Vista Halloween party and police are seeking video footage of a fight to help identify those responsible.
At approximately 11:17 p.m., patrols responded to a report of a shooting on E. Prospect Street, according to a news release from the Chula Vista Police Department. The officers discovered two victims, ages 15 and 17, suffering from gunshot wounds.
The officers attempted to resuscitate the teens until medics arrived to transport both to UCSD Medical Center. Doctors there pronounced them dead.
The victims’ names are being withheld until family members can be notified, police said.
Investigators have determined that an argument at the Halloween party led up to the shooting and believe “there is a likelihood” witnesses would have used cell phones to record the fight.
Chula Vista police are trying to locate witnesses to identify the suspect or suspects. They ask that anyone with information, video of the incident or working exterior cameras around the 00 block of E. Prospect Street to contact investigators at (619) 691-5075.
Tipsters also may contact the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the fatal shooting.

Halloween is a good time to try a new look, and maybe the Ride podcast hosts and the Overcompensating stars are trying everything à la Shakira. Perhaps this will unlock their fursona within — or become nightmare fuel. Either way, perfect subway outfits.
For nearly 50 years, most Halloweenmovies have focused on Michael Myers’ victims rather than the man himself. For the upcoming video game, players will step into the Shape’s shoes and lumber their way into the events of the 1978 film.
To celebrate the spooky holiday, developer Illfonic talked up the game’s single-player story, aka “The Night He Came Home Reimagined.” In it, players will get to inhabit “critical moments” referenced but not seen in the first Halloween, such as Michael’s escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and Phelps’ garage. (The video below features concept art of those two locations, plus a hardware store stocked with Halloween items and the Rabbit in Red Lounge featured in 2007’s Halloween reboot). Illfonic wants these moments to function as “supplemental material” that builds onto the movie and are joined by wholly new scenes and locations that introduce “Heroes of Haddonfield” that’ll be playable in the multiplayer mode, which pits four of them against Michael.
Halloween is Illfonic’s first true go at making a single-player mode, and its blog mentions the “commitment to delivering a compelling and authentic offering that matches the meticulous cadence of the original film,” including narration from recurring franchise staple Dr. Loomis. The studio also promises “fresh twists” to the movie’s events, such as multiple endings determined by how players make their way through Haddonfield and potentially other factors like the game’s different difficulties or sub-objectives achieved.
If killing it up as Michael Myers sounds at all fun to you, you’ll have to wait a while for Halloween—it’s releasing September 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

“I’m dressed as Jackie Kennedy in the pink suit. As for Jack, he has tirelessly worked to uphold his late grandparents’ legacy through the years.
“I’ve always felt super lucky that there’s this massive historical record about my family that I can learn from. A lot of people don’t get to have that kind of relationship with their ancestors,” Jack told Vogue in a July 2024 interview. “I’m so lucky for it, and so I try to learn as much as I can from them. I think my grandpa’s speeches are the coolest things ever. His administration actually did so much that’s still with us today, and he inspired a whole generation of people to enter public service — and still does.”
Jack further called John, who died at age 46 and never met his grandchildren, his “hero.”

“The first thing I ever got really nerdy about was him, his speeches and his administration,” Jack told the outlet. “It’s a blueprint for how progressivism can work in America and how America can lead the world in a positive, optimistic, science-driven way. As I’ve grown up, I’ve become more involved in the official obligations that come with being part of my family.”
Jack also revealed that his family’s legacy is to “try to stay positive about government” despite the partisanship and divisive political climate.
“I try to stay positive, and for some reason, these days, that’s a unique perspective,” he said. “To me, if you’re going to talk about stuff, it’s a responsibility to try to make it a little bit better.”
Heidi Klum donned green scales and squirming snakes to transform herself into Medusa for Halloween on Friday.
Klum said she loves the Greek myth of Medusa, in which a goddess turns a beautiful woman into a monster with serpents for hair.
“So I wanted to be really, really like a really ugly, ugly Medusa. And I feel like we nailed it – to the teeth,” Klum said before pointing to fangs in her mouth.
Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, dressed as a man turned to stone. According to Greek mythology, her gaze could turn people to stone.

The supermodel-turned-TV personality went viral in 2022 when she arrived at her annual Halloween party on the end of a fishing line, encased in a slithering worm costume.
This year, she said she spent 10 hours getting into costume and that it was worth it because she loves the celebration.
“HAPPY HEIDIWEEN,” she posted on Instagram on Halloween night, showing her costume. “Don’t stare too long or you’ll turn to stone.”
In past years, Klum has come dressed as an 8-foot-tall “Transformer,” a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video, a clone accompanied by several Klum-lookalikes, and Kali, the multiarmed Hindu goddess of death and destruction.
Klum has said she starts planning her costume for the next year immediately after her party wraps.
Among the other celebrities who walked the carpet at the Hard Rock Hotel New York were a green-painted Darren Criss as Shrek, Maye Musk as Cruella de Vil and Ariana Madix as Lady Gaga.
Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting at a home in the 400 block of Cottonwood Lake Drive in Clifton at 11:50 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Clifton is an unincorporated community east of Grand Junction.
Deputies found two victims with serious injuries and started CPR, but both were pronounced dead at the hospital about an hour later.
Investigators believe an “incident” caused one or more people to start shooting during the party, sheriff’s officials said. The shooting is being investigated as a double homicide.
The names of the victims will be released by the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707 and reference Mesa County Sheriff’s Office case number 25-41695.

Smoke rolled across the stage and spilled into the crowd, where fans arrived dressed as video game characters, movie icons, and other familiar pop culture figures. Standing above the audience on a giant speaker stood Doechii, dancing through the wafting smoke to Stressed. As the music rose, the singer let out a loud scream and the audience screamed back. When the roar finally began to settle, the rapper stopped at center stage and looked out over the crowd.
“You all sold this B&$%* out” she shouted. “Happy Halloween Swamp!”
Her greeting was more than a holiday nod. Swamp is the name she uses for her fanbase, a reference rooted in the humid environment of her hometown of Tampa, Florida. It is also the title of her current tour, a 14 city run moving through North America during October and November called Live From The Swamp.
Born Jaylah Hickmon in Tampa, Florida, Doechii began releasing music online as a teenager, building a following through early YouTube uploads and self released projects that showcased both her writing ability and her interest in blending rap with theatrical performance. Her breakout moment came with “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake,” a cleverly written introduction to her life that caught fire on social media and brought widespread attention to her talent. The success led to a growing buzz that eventually reached Top Dawg Entertainment, where she made history as the first woman to join the label.

Live From The Swamp is a showcase of Doechii’s evolution as an artist. The show pulls from her 2024 critically acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal as well as the singles that have highlighted her versatility. Doechii is a relatively new artist, so her catalog is not deep, but the swamp is deeper than it appears. She moves between songs with ease, shifting from lyrically dense rap to light, melodic pop without losing momentum.
While she may be a new name to many, her growing catalog reveals an artist with more skill and confidence than her years in the industry might suggest, and her stage show proves it. From start to finish, Doechii bounced across the stage without a hint of fatigue. She spent the evening racing across the platform, climbing the tall speakers that framed the stage, and sliding down the connected ramps in full command of the room. The show offered far more than a simple one to one performance of her catalog. Many of the songs were reworked with samples and references to artists like Mary J Blige, Outkast, Nas, Jay Z, Crystal Waters, Missy, and others. And with the Houston stop falling on Halloween, the added layer of costume pageantry gave the night an extra spark.
“I be so mad because ever since I dropped, I been on tour every Halloween” laughed Doechii as she directed the cameras toward the audience. “I never get a chance to dress up but I see you all out there. Quick, someone get the camera on MF Doom over there.”
The Anxiety singer then spent the next few moments pointing out costumes in the crowd, including Frozone and an audience member dressed as her single Spookie Coochie.
Just as her music suggests an artist beyond the age of her catalog, Doechii’s live show is polished and thoughtfully crafted. Whether performing through clouds of smoke, trading back and forth with her DJ, or singing alongside the music videos projected on the screens behind her, she keeps the audience in the palm of her hand throughout the evening. Houston’s own Monaleo was even part of the show, seated at a long table on stage with other fans as Doechii performed while displaying a POV camera feed to the audience.

RFK Jr.’s neighbor has Halloween display message for him
Move over spooky, this year’s Halloween theme in D.C. is politics.
Along with pumpkins, witches and vampires, you will see a lot of Halloween decorations featuring political messages on the front steps of homes around the District.
Skeletons throwing sandwiches were spotted in many parts of D.C., which represents Sean Dunn, the former paralegal for the Department of Justice who was arrested for throwing a sub at a Customs and Border Protection during a protest at 14th and U streets NW in August.
One hot spot for politically themed Halloween decorations is in Georgetown, which may make one of President Donald Trump’s cabinet members feel less than festive.
Christine Payne has lived, along with her husband Jimmy, in Georgetown for six years and her small but pointed decoration has more than a veiled message to her neighbor Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“My son has autism, and a neighbor is very active in anti-vaccines,” Payne said. “So it was also in reflection to that.”
Along with pumpkins and a Halloween themed “Welcome” sign on the door, Payne has a skeleton displayed in her window.
The skeleton in a child-sized chair, holding a sign that says, “Wish I had taken my vaccine.”
“There is a small bottle of Tylenol also next to his feet because we’re very concerned about it affecting children,” Payne said.
Another one of Payne’s neighbors joined her with the theme — by putting out a headstone that reads, “I did my own research.”
“We have people taking photos of it constantly,” Payne said.
While she had not heard from Kennedy about the Halloween display, she did say he and his wife Cheryl Hines have only been nice and friendly.
“One of the nicer neighbors that we’ve dealt with through the years, very agreeable, but love thy neighbor, not agree with his politics,” Payne said.

Heflin, Alabama — Every Halloween season, when the sun sets in the small Alabama town of Heflin, the local students from Cleburne County High School toilet paper a few homes.
But last month, they upped their game, toilet papering just about every business in town, too.
“It’s just fun,” one teen told CBS News.
“And then you don’t get caught and it’s like, this is fantastic,” said another.
It was fantastic until they made the mistake of hitting the headquarters of the Heflin Police Department.
“It was up on the roof, the spare cars we had in the parking lot … We had to do something,” Heflin Police Chief Ross McGlaughn said.
So after the “attack” on his station last month, McGlaughn took to social media to send a message to the perpetrators.
“We think that rolling the police department was a little uncalled for, but as we enter into Halloween season, we dont want to hear any crying when we load up like we are going to serve a search warrant and go full out tactical ninja style old school rolling at your place next month,” McGlaughn wrote. “We know who you are and while you just put the play station controller down for a week, we are children of the 80s and 90s who perfected this craft years ago.”
The Heflin Police Department then got to work on an operation that was supported by officers from multiple jurisdictions, all armed to the teeth with toilet paper.
It was an unusual approach to policing, to say the least. But McGlaughn did get permission from the parents in advance. And he said he has his reasons for encouraging the kids like this.
“As long as they’re doing this, they’re not getting into trouble doing something else,” McGlaughn said. “I haven’t seen any types of drugs or alcohol involved. You know, I think they’re spending all their money on toilet paper.”
The kids have definitely taken to the prank war.
“I just think it’s good clean fun for everyone, and it’s been great for our whole town, the police department and everybody,” one student said.
Heflin’s toilet paper war has so tickled the town that businesses are now offering support by putting out free toilet paper. And the kids are taking care of the ensuing mess in their own unique way, by selling insurance.
“They call it the Toilet Paper Rapid Response Team,” McGlaughn said. “So if you buy their insurance and your yard gets rolled, the youth group will come clean it up for you … So you can buy protection.”
But it’s worth it, McGlaughn said, because this has been fun for everyone, including him.
“I’m just rallying everybody,” McGlaughn said as he prepared to toilet paper another home. “That way we can hit the next house. It looks beautiful from down there.”

Halloween is the spookiest night of the year, and while many will be more than happy to curl up in front of the sofa with the lights dimmed streaming every horror movie, there’s others who might opt to avoid the frights. Normally, children’s television is a safe bet, with the episodes aimed at a younger audience generally guaranteed not to have anything that’ll make you afraid to sleep with the lights off. But these characters ended up giving not only children, but plenty of adults nightmares, even from shows that are normally tame. It was meant to be one of the seven ‘Magical Events’, and yet this episode ended up traumatising a generation of Teletubbies viewers, including this writer. The Scary Lion with Big Scary Teeth and The Bear with Brown Fuzzy Hair were seen chasing around the titular characters with a strange and eerie music playing in the background.
Viewers were more scared by the Bear’s sharp claws and eyes rolling around its head as it chanted: “I’m the Bear, I’m the Bear, and I’m coming,” over and over again. The episode is still discussed online, with one commentator saying: “The lion and bear episode of the Teletubbies is the scariest thing to have ever aired in television history and if you disagree, you’re wrong.” A second added: “The lion and the bear in the Teletubbies were HORRIFYING. I used to run up the stairs in pure panic every time they came on-screen.”
Complaints started flooding in to the BBC when the episode first aired back in 1997, and the corporation ended up taking action. Repeats of the episode starting from 2001 changed the Bear’s voice and swapped the music to something more light-hearted. But the damage had already been done, with some countries removing the whole episode from their rotations, and I still get the shivers whenever I think about the episode.
Tove Jansson’s iconic Moomin series might seem like light-hearted fun for all ages, but one particular episode of the 1990 cartoon ended up unnerving several viewers. In episodes 6-8 of the series, the Moomins first encounter the monstrous Groke, searching for a shell. My sister regularly recounts how terrifying the original episode was simply due to the creature’s imposing figure and lack of dialogue. It was the emptiness and solitary stare, in which she never blinked, that ended up unnerving viewers.
One social media commentator noted: “This one was particularly scary, the Hufsa, or the Groke. It made everything cold and it growled. Traumatizing.” While a second added: “‘This Groke character is rather scary looking. Maybe we should try to make her harder to see for our network, so the kids don’t get scared’. Welp, mission failed. I remember The Groke being [the] scariest [expletive] thing ever, when I was a child.“
Broadcast between 1979 and 1984, Jigsaw was a show aimed at children aged between four and seven, however, it ended up having one of the most terrifying things to have ever been put on screen, Mr. Noseybonk. The character was known for his largely extended nose and toothy grin and despite being intended to entertain, he instead terrified.
Taking to social media, one said: “From 1980 to 1984, lighthearted Children’s BBC puzzle series/sketch show Jigsaw was haunted by NOSEYBONK. Intended to be a whimsical childlike innocent, he ended up terrifying kids, like Mr Bean directed by David Lynch,” and a second posted: “He has given me a LIFELONG fear of long noses. I’d managed to avoid seeing him for over 40 years and then last year there was a picture of him posted up on some reddit forum and that night I woke screaming. And twice more that week.”
Speaking to SyFy magazine in 2018, X Files writer Benjamin Van Allen revealed that the character was the inspiration for his Mr. Chuckleteeth character in the horror series. “Mr. Chuckleteeth was actually inspired by an old British kids TV show called Jigsaw,” he explained. “There’s a character in Jigsaw called Mr. Noseybonk. He kind of looks like Mr. Chuckleteeth a little bit, so that was the inspiration for me when I was writing the character. It was the starting point for the design, but we really made it our own thing. My inkling is that it might also have been the inspiration behind Jigsaw, the character in the Saw films.”
Even though he’s one of the heroes of his series, plenty of children have found talking scarecrow Worzel Gummidge absolutely terrifying. Whether it’s the nature of a scarecrow coming to life or his ability to remove his own head and keep speaking, many still shudder when they hear the theme. It’s not just the original that terrified viewers, as the reboot has attracted plenty of attention with some suggesting the character resembled classic horror villain Freddy Kreuger.
Reflecting on the series, one said: “I also used to find Aunt Sally scary as hell too – the whole thing just seemed to have an odd atmosphere to it. Wurzel was just weird, Aunt Sally seemed to hate him and that seemed to create a weird air of conflict,” while a second shared: “Scarier than 1970’s Dr Who. And that is saying something,” and a third penned: “The original was terrifying. Aunt Sally gave me nightmares for weeks and I refused to watch it after her introduction.“

Puppets raised a generation from the Muppets to Sooty, we all have fond memories of these entertainers, but one ended up scaring instead of thrilling. While Pipkins had plenty of puppets, from Topov the Cockney monkey to Octavia the Ostrich and Mrs Penguin, it was Hartley Hare that unnerved many. Several complained about his mangy appearance, with some comparing the children’s character to a reanimated zombie.
Noting his scariness, one person on X wrote: “Another favourite on our (very unscientific) poll of scariest childhood horrors was Hartley Hare. If there was ever a sinister hybrid of abused oven glove and reanimated roadkill then Pipkins’ own Hartley Hare was it. Voiced by Nigel Plaskitt he terrified a generation,” while a second said: “As children’s television icons go, the myxomatosis-riddled fleabag that was Pipkins’ HARTLEY HARE was pretty unique. Terrifying to behold and camp as Christmas, I adored him, then and now.”
Mr Blobby was meant to entertain children with his clumsy antics, but his electronically distorted voice, that only ever repeated variations of the word ‘blobby’, and his crazy green eyes, had children heading behind the sofa instead of laughing along with him.
One of those who found the character frightening is comedian Jack Whitehall, with the star attempting to hide away under his desk when the character made a cameo on The Big Fat Quiz. When Blobby was compared to the Teletubbies, Jack replied: “Teletubbies? They’re joyous, Blobby was evil.” When the character appeared on the show, Jack exclaimed: “How the [expletive] were you allowed near kids?“
Heidi Klum revealed her 2025 costume at her annual Halloween party, proving once again why her look is one of the most anticipated of the spooky season, dressing up as mythical character Medusa for the Oct. 31 bash.
The “Project Runway” host debuted the look at her 24th Annual Halloween Party presented by Butterfinger at Hard Rock Hotel New York and was joined on the red carpet by husband Tom Kaulitz, who was the Greek hero who beheads Medusa, Perseus.
Klum gave fans a peek at her costume a few weeks before the big event, sharing a prosthetic of her bust to Instagram Oct. 17, as well as fabric swatches and tagging the makeup team she’s been working with. And hours before her big reveal, she shared a teaser of her applying her green makeup and bald cap for the getup.
Heidi Klum is the queen of spooky season, hook line and sinker. The 49-year-old showed off her over-the-top costume at her annual “Heidi Halloween” bash in New York City on Monday.
As the 52-year-old — who is mom to Leni, 21, Henry, 20, Johan, 18, and Lou, 16, with ex-husband Seal — has previously explained, it takes quite a while to get her costume just right.
“It took one year to get ready,” she shared with E! News about the E.T. costume she donned at her 2024 bash. “We started at 10 a.m. this morning. We just got ready, we just came down.”
Tom — who also dressed up as E.T that year. — added, “It took a whole team of amazing people. And lots of planning.”
Through the years Klum has dressed up in a wide array of incredible costumes, like Jessica Rabbit from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” in 2016, the werewolf from Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” music video in 2017 and Fiona from “Shrek“ in 2018. And Halloween is one holiday that she is excited about all year long — especially as she gets to celebrate with her own party.
“When I moved to America, I immediately fell in love with Halloween and the spookiness of it,” she gushed to “The Hollywood Reporter” in 2018. “All that was missing was a fantastic party. It felt like a real opportunity for me.”
And the model had a very specific reason as to why she’s opted for some over-the-top looks, noting that if she wears “elaborate outfits,” it would be a sign for her guests to follow suit.
“And it’s worked,” she added, “because, over the years, people have become increasingly more outrageous with their costumes. The party has become almost legendary. It’s epic. I feel like my love for Halloween has made other people fall in love with the holiday, too.”
