These 12 “Anti-Static” Hair Products Are the Key to Smooth Strands This Winter

    [ad_1]

“In the winter, I always recommend incorporating a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, like Unite 7Seconds Shampoo ($34) and 7Seconds Conditioner ($36), into your haircare routine to keep the hair moisturized and protected,” Snyder says. “I also love using the 7Seconds Detangler ($22) after washing for additional moisture and protein to strengthen strands.”

If you want to up the ante, Snyder recommends using a hair mask too—especially if you have textured or chemically processed hair. “Textured hair is more susceptible to frizz, as the hair tends to be drier and have more surface area, making it easier for moisture to escape,” she says. “Damaged hair has a compromised cuticle layer that cannot effectively retain moisture.” She recommends the Unite 7Seconds Hair Masque ($50).

  • This $13 Hydrating Hair Mask Is Reducing Shoppers’ Frizziness & Breakage

This $13 Hydrating Hair Mask Is Reducing Shoppers’ Frizziness & Breakage

    [ad_1]

All products and services featured are independently chosen by editors. However, StyleCaster may receive a commission on orders placed through its retail links, and the retailer may receive certain auditable data for accounting purposes.

If you have overly processed or chemically damaged strands, a generic shampoo and conditioner likely won’t cut it. You’re going to need a formula that repairs and restores your locks to a healthy and manageable state. A prime example of one such product is Arvazallia’s Hydrating Argan Oil Hair Mask, which, might I add, is on sale for $13 on Amazon right now.

To understand why shoppers are raving about this game-changer, it’s important to look at the key ingredient. Argan oil is used to prevent hair loss and dry hair. In fact, one study found that it “statistically reduced the protein loss when compared to just base formulation,” therefore decreasing “the damage caused to hair by the coloring process.”

The Hydrating Argan Oil Hair Mask promises to hydrate and moisturize dry, damaged hair so that it feels silky smooth and healthy, per the brand. So if you’re struggling with texture, elasticity, and shine, this hair mask might be just what your locks need to, quite literally, bounce back.

Besides repairing and restoring weak, overprocessed strands
, the product also makes hair more manageable, and numerous shoppers can back up these claims.

“I’ve been using this product for a while, and it has transformed my hair from frizzy and lifeless to soft, manageable, and healthy,” one five-star reviewer wrote.

Another one raved, “I’ve been using this argan oil hair mask and deep conditioner for nearly one month. I use it twice a week. Once I shampoo, I apply it and let it sit for 10 minutes. It’s amazing what it’s done for my dry hair! My hair is now full of life! It’s reduced the frizz
that would appear once I dried my hair. It deeply moisturizes my hair. My hair is much shinier now.”

Suitable for all hair types, this formula is free from sulfates and parabens, too.

And if you’re trying to remedy the texture of your hair, let this shopper ease your worries.

“I wasn’t sure anything could save it from being dry, tangling easily, and protecting it from snapping off with every stroke of the brush. This stuff worked a miracle. I followed the instructions and washed my hair, then applied this to my towel-dried hair for seven minutes and rinsed it out with straight cold water,” adding, “After my hair was fully dried, I couldn’t keep my fingers out of it. The strands feel like literal silk
. I have had almost no breakage. I will buy this stuff over and over again because it’s now therapy for my hair.”

These are certainly some high praises, so if you’re wondering whether this $13 hydrating hair mask can actually get the job done, you’re going to have to add it to your Amazon cart
    and see for yourself.

Nikita Mehta is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Fable & Mane. She started the brand with her brother, Akash, to share the traditional Indian hair care secrets.

I’d love to know more about the brand. What was the inspiration behind it?

“When Akash and I were children, Nani (grandma) would visit us from India and we’d sit in a hair-oiling train while she massaged our heads lovingly with a handcrafted blend of Ayurvedic plants and herbs. Her healing hands would help to melt away any feelings of stress or anxiety, and she’d tell us magical fables of India’s rich plant and animal kingdom. A few years ago, during a time of stress, I experienced hair loss so I went back to my roots to this time-tested ritual to help grow healthier, stronger, and more hydrated hair. We wanted to share these ancient rituals of Ayurveda and Indian beauty secrets with the modern, everyday consumer, and that’s how Fable & Mane was born.”

Can you tell me more about the Ayurvedic ingredients that are used and what makes them so beneficial for the hair and scalp?

“Our triple-A complex of amla, ashwagandha, and aloe is found in all Fable & Mane products for ultimate hair hydration, strength, and growth. Amla is nature’s miracle berry and a natural conditioner that’s rich in vitamin C. It’s brilliant for adding shine to lackluster locks and adding hydration to strands. Ashwagandha strengthens the scalp barrier and protects it from external stressors, making it brilliant for hair growth from the root. Finally, aloe is nature’s hydration hero – it gives hair that coveted natural gloss and shine, retains moisture in each strand, and is especially beneficial for sensitive scalps.”

Do you have any tips and tricks for using the HoliRoots Repairing Hair Mask?

“I always apply a generous amount on wet hair in the shower, but my favourite way to use this is on dry hair before a steam or sauna. I find the results last twice as long, I don’t need to put any product on after washing as my hair is already detangled and silky smooth and soft.”

What about the HoliRoots Pre-Wash Hair Treatment Oil?

“Not only is the HoliRoots Hair Oil great for weightless hair hydration and stimulating healthy hair growth, but it can be really grounding and a mindful experience. I always inhale the scent before applying, rubbing a few drops on my scalp with deep breaths. I also love to mix some of the oil with our hair mask for a double hydration mask which leaves my hair silky soft and smooth.”

What about the MahaMane Smooth & Shine Hair Oil?

“The best way to use this oil is to press it into the ends, rather than rub. Use it on the mid-lengths and ends on damp hair and blow-dry in. My hair is left frizz-free and it smells amazing!”

  • Stylists and Editors Agree—These 12 Masks Will Revive Even the Most Damaged Hair

Stylists and Editors Agree—These 12 Masks Will Revive Even the Most Damaged Hair

    [ad_1]

If you’re looking to get the best hair of your life, there’s one product you should be sure to include in your routine: a hair mask. Anyone can use a hair mask—it doesn’t matter what texture your hair is or how much damage it has. In fact, hair masks are essential for getting healthy, bouncy, and soft hair. Think of a hair mask as a DIY spa treatment for your hair.

Hair masks get a bad rap for being super thick. “When people hear ‘hair mask,’ the general conception is of a heavy and deep conditioning product,” says Fekkai SoHo colorist Lorik Rockefeller. “[Because of] that, a lot of people,  especially the ones with finer hair, tend to avoid them.” But hair masks come in all different consistencies for all different hair textures and densities.

Using a hair mask helps you maintain your haircut a bit longer, ward off split ends, and repair and prevent damage. Whether you want to improve the health of your hair or give your strands some major TLC, there’s a hair mask out there for every hair type, texture, concern, and price point.

I spoke with stylists and Who What Wear beauty editors to find the best hair masks. Keep reading to find the hair mask that’s right for you.

  • My Hair Has Never Looked So Shiny, and It’s Thanks to These Specific Products

My Hair Has Never Looked So Shiny, and It’s Thanks to These Specific Products

    [ad_1]

When it comes to my skincare routine, I’ll always favor the route that leads me to dewy, glowy, healthy skin. A serum that promises “glazed donut” skin? Excellent. A hyaluronic acid-infused face mist? I’ll take two. An SPF with light-reflecting particles? Sign me up. The thing about radiant skin is that it looks healthy, and the same applies to hair—which is why, now that I’ve found my glowy skin essentials, I’m on a mission to achieve the shiniest, glossiest hair of my life.

It helps that shiny hair is majorly on trend right now, so there are a ton of products out there that promise to boost shine and give hair a “glass-like” finish. “The current interest in shiny hair is really a phenomenon coming from social media that reflects the quiet-luxury trend,” says celebrity hairstylist Frederic Fekkai. “From sleek ponytails accessorized with ribbons to a reflective bob or long hair with a mirror-like shine, it’s a versatile trend.” No matter your hair type or length, it’s always possible to achieve a glossy finish, and because a shiny finish creates the illusion of healthy hair, it looks good on everyone.
