  • VEGAS MYTHS RE-BUSTED: Celebrity Chefs Work in Their Own Restaurants – Casino.org

    [ad_1]

    Posted on: September 26, 2025, 07:21h.

    Last updated on: September 25, 2025, 09:51h.

EDITOR’S NOTE: “Vegas Myths Busted” publishes every Monday, with a bonus Flashback Friday edition. Today’s entry in our ongoing series originally ran on June 17, 2024.

It’s not too difficult to figure out who started the myth that celebrity chefs work in their own restaurants. According to an old menu at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace: “If you think the guy sitting at the end of the bar looks a lot like Gordon, well, it just might be.”

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay poses for a photo in a restaurant in which he has never cooked, Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace. (Image: vistlasvegas.com)

    Booking the Cooks

Caesars Entertainment wants you to think you can meet or see Ramsay by dining at one of the six Las Vegas restaurants they operate for him — so much so that the casino company requires him to visit each one at least once a year, for at least 24 consecutive hours.

During each visit, Ramsay is contractually obligated to allow himself to be photographed as though his being there is a perfectly normal occurrence and not just a requirement for him to earn his $340K annual name-licensing fee per restaurant, along with 5%-6% of Caesars’ gross profits from it.

This suggests what we all kind of know intuitively — that once someone earns millions from TV shows and passive licensing deals, they don’t want to have to cook your Crispy Skin Salmon over a hot stove after you arrive famished from seeing Mat Franco’s 7 p.m. show at the LINQ.

Celebrity chefs may sometimes help design the menus at their Las Vegas restaurants — that’s both may and sometimes. But they never cook in them. Doing so may actually be illegal if they don’t possess a Nevada health card.

Instead, they rely on their hotel partners’ food and beverage departments to manage the restaurants.

Ramsay cooks in a scene for his long-running “Hell’s Kitchen” Fox-TV reality series, which is always shot on soundstages, never in his restaurants. Seasons 23 and 24, now filming at the Foxwoods in Connecticut, is set on a soundstage at the casino resort, not in the Hell’s Kitchen there. (Image: Fox-TV)

    How We Know For Sure

We only know about Caesars’ deal with Ramsay because it was among the financial relationships exposed by the Wall Street Journal during the company’s 2016 bankruptcy proceedings.

We assume that Caesars, and other casino companies, have similar deals with Guy Fieri, José Andrés, Guy Savoy, Giada De Laurentis, Michael Mina, and David Chang, though those deals have never been made public.

The only time celebrity chefs can be counted on to be at their restaurants is for their grand openings.

Unfortunately, that’s one of the only times you can’t be because those are invite-only affairs open exclusively to celebrities and other casino VIPs.

Guy Fieri, the celebrity chef and restaurateur, is teaming up with Circle K, the national convenience store chain, to bring a little bit of Flavortown to South Dakota.

The partnership will bring 11 exclusive Flavortown-inspired menu items to participating Circle K and Holiday locations in 10 states, including South Dakota.

“Our customers are looking for more from their convenience store experience, and we’re answering that call by partnering with Guy Fieri to bring his iconic Flavortown creations to Circle K,” Gary Brant, vice president of North American food service at Circle K, said in a news release.

The new menu items include a range of different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner – and don’t forget the snacks.

“Flavortown is as much a lifestyle as it is a place, so when it comes to great food and flavor, it’s all about finding it wherever you are,” said Fieri, the longtime host of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and self-styled “Mayor of Flavortown.”

Celebrity chef and Food Network icon Guy Fieri’s restaurant Chicken Guy! is facing eviction over unpaid rent at its Winter Park location, according to court records.

According to records, the restaurant is accused of breaching its contract and owing its landlord $38,507.72 in overdue rent, interest and late fees. A three-day notice was issued Feb. 15 ordering Chicken Guy! to pay rent or give up possession of the premises. The landlord issued the same notice again March 4, before filing an eviction notice in Orange County court.

Chicken Guy! opened in Winter Park at 818 S. Orlando Ave. in 2021, joining the only other Central Florida location in Disney Springs. The two other Florida locations are in Miami and Wesley Chapel.

What has two thumbs and will see you some other time?

Denizens of Flavortown will no doubt be sad to learn that Guy Fieri’s planned Flavortown Fest in Columbus in June has been nixed.

The two-day food and music extravaganza was set to feature headliners Greta Van Fleet and Kane Brown in the town where Fieri was born along with eats from the Food Network star’s favorite Columbus-area Triple-D restaurants.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Fest, initially planned for June 1-2 in Columbus, Oh, has been canceled,” a statement from organizers read. “Thank you to all our Flavortown Fest fans for understanding and your support along this journey.”

And what a quick journey it was — with the lineup announced in January.

Refunds are being issued to all ticket holders.

  • Guy Fieri Says His Sons May Not Inherit His Fortune | Entrepreneur

Guy Fieri Says His Sons May Not Inherit His Fortune | Entrepreneur

    [ad_1]

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri may have a net worth of $70 million, but that doesn’t mean his two sons will feast on his fortune after he dies.

In an interview with Fox News, the Food Network’s highest-paid star and the man behind the Flavortown empire said that he told his sons, Hunter and Ryder, they would have to work hard for the money.

“I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me. My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral.’ And I told my boys, ‘None of this that we’ve been…that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me,’” Fiery said.

    Instilling a strong work ethic

Fieri’s comments may seem harsh, but they reinforce his firm belief in a strong work ethic. Nothing ever came easy to Fieri, and he expects the same for his kids. Before Fieri won “Food Network Star” in 2006, he worked for a car parts manufacturer. He catapulted to fame with shows like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” due to his tireless pursuit of culinary perfection. The hair helped, too.

While some might assume that the children of a TV star would have an easy path laid out for them, Fieri has set a high bar for his children, expecting them to pursue higher education fervently. Instead of giving his 16-year-old son, Ryder, a fancy sports car for his birthday, he gave him the family minivan.

“I refuse to let him buy a car until he spends one year with no tickets, no accidents, driving the minivan,” Fieri told People.

The tough love approach seems to be resonating. His oldest son, Hunter, 27, has a contract with Food Network, is a top salesman for the family wine brand, and is advancing towards his master’s degree at the University of Nevada (where his dad went).

As for Ryder, he appreciates his father’s passion but wishes he’d turn down the heat a little.

“My youngest son, Ryder, is a senior in high school getting ready to graduate, or you know, going to graduate in the spring,” Fieri said. “And he’s like, ‘Dad, this is so unfair. I haven’t even gone to college yet, and you’re already pushing that I’ve got to get an MBA? Can I just get through college?’”

  • Guy Fieri Refuses To Give His Sons A Free Ride – 'Same Thing My Dad Told Me…'

Guy Fieri Refuses To Give His Sons A Free Ride – 'Same Thing My Dad Told Me…'

    [ad_1]

    Opinion

Source: Screenshot TODAY YouTube, People YouTube

Guy Fieri is one of the biggest stars on the Food Network, with Parade alleging that he has a net worth of about $70 million, but that doesn’t mean that he’s giving his sons a free ride in life. In fact, he’s doing just the opposite, as he’s trying to raise his boys with the kind of work ethics that his own father gave him in his youth.

Fieri Raising His Sons To Work Hard

“I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me,” Fieri told Fox News. “My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral.’”

“And I told my boys, none of this that we’ve been … that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me,” he added.

Fieri and his wife Lori have been married since 1995, and they are the parents of two sons: Hunter and Ryder. They are also raising their nephew Jules, who they took in after the 2011 death of Fieri’s sister Morgan, who died of a metazoic melanoma.

    Fieri’s Teenager Fights Back

While Hunter and Jules are both adults who are out of the house and launching their own careers, the 17 year-old Ryder recently took issue with his dad’s rules about hard work.

“My youngest son, Ryder, is a senior in high school getting ready to graduate, or you know, going to graduate in the spring,” Fieri explained. “And he’s like, ‘Dad this is so unfair. I haven’t even gone to college yet, and you’re already pushing that I’ve got to get an MBA? Can I just get through college?’”

“Shaq said it best,” Fieri continued.”Shaq said it about his kids one time. He says, ‘If you want any of this cheese, you’ve got to give me two degrees.’ Well, my two degrees mean, you know, postgraduate. So they’re on their way.”

Fieri’s 27 year-old son Hunter has already signed his own contract with the Food Network. He’s currently working on his master’s degree, and he is the top salesman for Hunt & Ryde, the family wine brand.

“I think the kid’s going to explode,” Fieri proudly said of his son.

Fieri Gives Sons Old Family Cars

Fieri is known for being a car aficionado, so fans would likely assume that he bought his sons fancy and expensive cars when they turned 16, but that’s not the route that he chose to go.

“All the kids got to drive a family car when they first got their license until they earned their money,” Fieri said. “And so Hunter and Jules drove my dad’s old green pickup truck.”

When Ryder turned 16, Fieri gathered the teenager and his friends for what the young man assumed would be the big reveal of a snazzy new car.

“Held the key up, and I go. Here you go, son. Smiling ear to ear, pushes the button and the alarm goes off on my parent’s 1994 champagne Chrysler minivan,” Fieri recalled. “Because I bought my mom a new car that day, and they took their van from them. And he’s like, ‘no way. No way. I’m not driving the minivan.’”

“I said, ‘Ride your bike. I don’t care. You need a car to drive. The minivan is available,’” Fieri added. “Took him about a week. He softened up and then. Then he loved the minivan. He was the coolest guy cruising that.”

It’s clear that unlike the vast majority of wealthy folks in the entertainment world, Fieri is actually raising his boys to be hard-working young men who will be able to actually get themselves far in life. In the end, they are lucky to have a no-nonsense father like Guy Fieri behind them!

  • Florence Pugh Embraces Her Inner Donkey Sauce

Florence Pugh Embraces Her Inner Donkey Sauce

    [ad_1]

Flavortown, as we all well know, is less an actual place, more a way of life. We just didn’t know that fashion icon, actor, and all-around delight Florence Pugh was a citizen.

Pugh showed off her funkalicious side Thursday on her Instagram story, captioning a photo of herself and her freshly watched bleach-blonde buzzcut, “Sometimes when I get out the shower I look like Guy Fieri and I love it.”

On the next slide, she continued her homage to the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host, though she couldn’t help letting her affinity for goofy puns shine.

“Just saying, could be the new mayor of flavour town,” she captioned another shot of her spiky ‘do, accessorized with some admittedly Fieri-esque black-and-gold cateye sunglasses. “Or should I say…’Flo’ver town.”

Pugh recently shared that she shaved her head as a way to control her image, saying, “Vanity is gone.” In its place? Maybe Fieri’s signature condiment, Donkey Sauce. There is no beauty standard, only Donkey Sauce.

With the confidence of an incumbent who has successfully lobbied every power player in Flavortown and knows he has the next mayoral election on lock, Fieri himself shared his young doppelganger’s image on his own Instagram story Friday, captioning it, “You’re crushin’ it.”

The whole thing is, as they (Fieri, “they” is Fieri) say, off the chain.

Guy Fieri, the Emmy Award-winning restauranteur and spike-haired host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, is hosting a mashup of culinary arts and music festivals no one could’ve seen coming.

Fieri has announced Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate, a Super Bowl game day experience in Phoenix. Equal parts food festival and music festival, it’s the largest free culinary event in football history, according to Forbes.

Fieri, a longtime country music fan with ties to California’s Stagecoach Festival, has lassoed in a headlining performance from Diplo, the Grammy-winning DJ who famously moonlights as a country artist. The two have been friends since as early as 2019, when they ripped shots at the SoCal festival for Diplo’s “So Long” music video.
