    GRESHAM, OR – Gresham police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in a fatal shooting that happened one year ago at a city park.

    Jorge Ovidio Mateo Vasquez, 17, was shot and killed shortly after 4 p.m. on January 23, 2025, while playing on the futsal court at Vance Park. Police described the shooting as an apparent unprovoked attack.

    Investigators identified the suspect as Camerino Vides, now 17, of Gresham, but said they have been unable to locate him.

    Detectives urge anyone with information about Vides’ whereabouts to call 911 immediately. Police warned the public not to approach him, saying he may be armed.

    “Someone knows where Vides is,” Detective Huffman said in a statement. “We need the community’s help to locate him so we can hold him accountable and bring some measure of justice to Jorge’s family.”

  • Gresham Offers “Know Your Rights” Training For – KXL

    GRESHAM, OR – The City of Gresham’s East Multnomah Outreach Prevention Intervention team is supporting a free “Know Your Rights” training session to be hosted by the community-based organization Latino Network.

    The organizers say their goal is to educate attendees about their constitutionally protected rights as they relate to interactions with state and federal law enforcement agencies. The physical address for the training and a link to a virtual option will be provided upon registration.

  • Gresham Police Search For Teen Who Did Not Return Home from School – KXL

    Gracie Hall has not been located, and Gresham police continue to ask anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 911.

    GRESHAM, OR – Investigators say Gracie Hall has not been located, and Gresham police continue to ask anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 9-1-1.

    Gresham Police say the missing 15-year-old who was last seen leaving her Gresham High School in the 1200 block of N Main Avenue just after 7;00 a.m. on Monday and has not been seen since.  Gracie is described as a White female with brown hair, she stands 5-feet and 6-inches tall, and she weighs about 130 pounds.

    Gracie Hall has not been located, and Gresham police continue to ask anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 911.

    Gracie was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with palm trees, blue jeans, and black and white Nike shoes. Gracie’s family is concerned because she is missing her medication.

  • Gresham Police Officer Hector Carranza Resigns After Child Sex Abuse Charges – KXL

    GRESHAM, Ore. — 56-year-old Hector Carranza resigned his position as a Gresham Police Officer on Friday, September 5th, 2025.   He was arrested on July 31st and charged with 56 crimes related to rape and sexual abuse of a minor.

    Multnomah County Prosecutors alledge he had inapproriate sexual relations with a minor girl between 2014 – 2017.  They say they recovered over 11,000 social image posts between him and his victim.

    Carannza was allowed out on bail after a hearing in August, but has been ordered to stay off social media and to not have contact with any minors with the exception of his young child.

    On Friday, Gresham Police put out the below statement:

    Gresham, Ore.— On September 5, 2025, Hector Carranza resigned from his position as a Police Officer with the Gresham Police Department. Due to the ongoing criminal case, the City of Gresham and Gresham Police Department are unable to provide additional information.
