Glossier’s You perfume has rightfully earned its place as a holy grail scent. While past generations swore by the iconic Chanel No 5, 21st century girls have Glossier You. Not only is it one of the best selling perfumes in Sephora, it has stolen the hearts of Glossier super fans and perfume lovers alike. And if you’re not yet convinced, just know that You isn’t any ordinary perfume—it has the unique ability to adapt to the individual wearer and enhance their natural scent. Since the release of You in 2017, Glossier fans have been begging the brand to expand its perfume range. And just this week, Glossier announced the arrival of two more perfumes, Doux and Rêve.

    It’s Twins!

As a loyal You wearer, I was beyond excited to hear about the release of not one—but two new scents. It’s no secret that Glossier has amassed a huge cult following since its online inception, so I knew these new perfumes would be one for the books—in one way or another. Although their names don’t quite roll of the tounge like You does, Doux and Rêve intrigued me even before I first smelled them.

    Soft but strong.

    Glossier You Rêve

Hard to say, easy to love.

Just like You, these two new scents claim to be “skin-scent enhancers,” meaning they smell different on everyone. “You are the final ingredient,” Glossier says. Both Doux and Rêve have familiar base notes of ambrette and ambrox, making them the perfect successors to You. In fact, Glossier encourages wearers to experiment with the three perfumes (which they call “Impressions of You”), by layering them to create a unique scent profile. Although that sounds nice in theory, the thought of wearing that many notes at once can be a bit overwhelming to scent newbies. Because despite sharing the same base notes, Doux and Rêve are distinctly different scents.

Glossier You Rêve, by Kleigh Balugo.

    Rêve: The Bratty Bushwick Partygoer

As a fruity perfume fan, I knew Rêve would be right up my alley. It has a buttercream top note, along with notes of plum butter, toasted almond, iris, and white sandalwood—making it super decadent and dreamy. Upon first sniff, its sweetness reminded me of the baby colognes I wore as a child and the plums I picked from my grandpa’s tree. Because of its fruity qualities, Rêve epitomizes that childlike carefree nature—yet its musky notes make it equally mature. To me, Rêve is the fun party girl you meet in the dive bar bathroom.

Rêve is a scent I can see myself wearing for a long time. Although it’s not quite as subtle and “barely there” as the original You scent, it’s warm and fuzzy in the best way possible. Plus, if you’re not into fruity scents—I personally don’t think the plum notes are too overwhelming. To sum it all up, I see Rêve as a great everyday scent. Mostly because, I plan on wearing it everyday.

    Doux: The Demure Uptown Romantic

If Rêve is a Sour Patch Kid, Doux is a truffle. Its top note is violet—with palo santo, frankincense, and myrrh for that spicy kick. Upon its arrival, Glossier fans were over the moon to discover the brand was finally releasing a floral scent. And although I’m bias to fruity scents, I was curious how Glossier could make such sophisticated scent notes desirable to their vast demographic. I see Doux as the cool older sister, she’s feminine and romantic yet bold and unapologetic.

Doux expertly contrasts sweet and spicy. If you like both floral and smoky notes, Doux ensures you never have to settle for just one. I may see Rêve as more of an everyday scent, but Doux’s complexity in notes makes it ideal for a big event or a classy night out. Doux continues to grow on me, because although I can appreciate it on its own, it’s hard not to notice how it’s both complementary and opposite to Rêve—the yin to its yang.

    Doux or Rêve?

The best part about two new perfumes is the ability to pick the one better suited to you. While the original You is almost a “one size fits all” scent, the fun of Doux and Rêve is how unmistakably unique they are from each other. And because of that, there is no black and white answer as to which one is worth buying.

If you’re a serial perfume fan, you might find that both perfumes are worth your while. Because although they share the same base notes, they are diverse enough to satisfy your craving for something new. While the Glossier Redditors will undoubtedly be adding both to their cart before smelling either, I recognize some of us are a bit more picky about the perfumes we spend our hard earned coin on.

At the end of the day, Doux is better suited for fans of floral and spicy notes—while Rêve is the clear choice for sweet and fruity scent lovers. And if you don’t find yourself falling into either category, it might be best to smell both for yourself before making a decision. Or maybe, you might find yourself picking up yet another bottle of your tried-and-true holy grail, You.

  • Glossier Has Finally Arrived In Australia, But Did We Miss the Hype? – POPSUGAR Australia

Glossier Has Finally Arrived In Australia, But Did We Miss the Hype? – POPSUGAR Australia

Glossier has arrived in Australia. Remember the days when snagging a coveted Glossier product felt like trying to score a golden ticket? For years, Australian beauty enthusiasts have been lusting after the brand’s millennial pink haven of natural-looking makeup and “woke up like this” vibes. We watched with envy as Glossier dominated social media feeds, but the only way to get our hands on those cloud paints and boy brows was through international shipping or (gasp) resellers.

Well, the wait is finally over, and it feels like a major coup for Aussie beauty lovers. Glossier has chosen Australia as its next big international step. But even more exciting? They’re partnering with Mecca, meaning we can finally ditch the online shopping anxiety and head in-store to test and trial all those Glossier goodies before we swipe our cards.

    Glossier In Australia: Why Now

So, is this a cause for celebration or a case of déjà vu? Let’s see what Emily Weiss, the Glossier mastermind herself, has to say about the long wait and her must-have picks.

“We’ve never been outside of our website or stores. That’s it for nine years,” she explained during a Glossier media event. “So we just started to finally say, ok, let’s really go out and meet everyone and be available for people who really want to touch and feel this brand.”

Touching and feeling the brand’s signature packaging and innovative textures is a big part of the Glossier experience, and Weiss emphasised the importance of physical accessibility. This philosophy extends to their choice of partner in Australia.

“Australia was our first new country to really like come to and invest in and visit,” Weiss said. “Mecca is like such a world class partner that it made the decision super easy as well.”

The partnership with Mecca makes perfect sense. Both brands share a commitment to offering a curated selection of high-quality beauty products, with a focus on experience and customer service.

Glossier’s Aussie invasion feels like an episode of “Friends” that finally got streamed on Netflix. Maybe they were busy conquering the US and Europe, swatching their way to world domination. Or perhaps untangling the red tape of international shipping had them feeling like they were stuck in customs purgatory (a relatable struggle, tbh). So, dust off your MECCA loyalty cards, because Glossier’s here to stay.

Is the Glossier Hype Still A Thing?

Sure, Glossier might not be the beauty world’s hottest new fling anymore. But let’s be real, it’s the comfy boyfriend jeans of the makeup world – a reliable fave that never goes out of style. Their focus on natural beauty and that elusive “lit-from-within” glow is timeless, and who can resist a product that looks as good on your vanity as it does on your face?

Glossier’s got the “less is more” mantra down to a pat. Their products are all about enhancing your natural features, not hiding them under a mask of foundation. Plus, the packaging is the epitome of cute (millennial pink forever!), and the whole brand aesthetic screams “effortless cool” like you just rolled out of bed and straight onto a fashion week runway.

Glossier Must-Haves, According to the Founder Herself

The hype surrounding Glossier’s arrival is real, and with shelves overflowing with those oh-so-tempting cloud paints and boy brows, choosing where to start can feel overwhelming. But fear not, fellow beauty fiends! Emily spilled the tea on her personal must-have Glossier picks.

    Glossier You

    Supplied

“Well, I’d be remiss not to talk about Glossier You,” Weiss enthused, kicking off the conversation. “One is sold every 20 seconds in the world of Glossier You, which is so, so amazing because when we came out with this perfume in 2017, we wanted to create the ultimate personal fragrance.”

Glossier You’s unique, user-specific scent has garnered a cult following, and Weiss elaborated on the concept. “We left out top notes of this fragrance so that everyone sort of alchemises their own scent with this perfume and it truly smells different on everyone,” she explained. Could it be the next Chanel No. 5? Only time will tell, but Weiss’ enthusiasm is undeniable.

    Balm DotCom

    glossier-balm-dotcom
    Supplied

However, Weiss also acknowledged the importance of Glossier’s classic products.

“Everyone here needs Balm Dotcom, it’s an oldie but a goodie,” she added. This multi-tasking balm has been a staple since the brand’s launch, and Weiss chuckled, “I mean, this was one of the first four products we launched with and now she has like, you know eight sisters. It’s like we have unscented, but she also has birthday and coconut and all these different expressions and flavours.”

Is Glossier Still the “It” Brand?

The jury’s out on whether Glossier’s arrival in Australia is a trendsetter’s dream or a case of catching up. Regardless, one thing’s clear: the brand’s loyal following (and that signature pink packaging) is enough to get us lining up at Mecca. While it might not be the hottest new thing on the beauty scene anymore, its cult favourites hold their status for a reason. So grab your besties, head to Mecca, and experience the Glossier magic for yourselves. Remember, these products are all about a natural, buildable look. So take your time, experiment, and unleash your inner glow – one perfectly imperfect selfie at a time.

Glossier lands in-store and online at Mecca nationwide on Tuesday, 16 July.

  • We Take Lip Balm Seriously—Out of Hundreds of Formulas, These 10 Came Out on Top

We Take Lip Balm Seriously—Out of Hundreds of Formulas, These 10 Came Out on Top

This installment of Deep Reviews, like all others, took weeks to complete. Not only do we take our time to research the best products on the market, but we put our top contenders through rigorous testing, which is conducted by our very own editors.

Here’s the 411. We started by looking at other publications—AllureByrdieGlamour, and many others. We created a master list of all the lip balms that were recommended. From there, we compared and color-coordinated the lists, looking at how often each lip balm was mentioned as well as its overall ratings and reviews on major beauty retailer sites.

After all of this, we had our list narrowed down to a mere 10 lip balms. All that was left was to do our own testing, and we did. Each editor received the lip balms and was asked to test, rate, and review them. Once we had everyone’s responses, we assembled them into a document and ranked each lip balm according to the feedback. By the end, we had crowned the best one.

  • Glossier’s Cyber Monday Sale Is My Super Bowl—13 Products I’m Stocking Up On

Glossier’s Cyber Monday Sale Is My Super Bowl—13 Products I’m Stocking Up On

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am a Glossier girl through and through. Ever since the brand launched in 2014, I’ve been a loyal customer. I used to collect the pink bubblewrap bags, plaster my college water bottle with Glossier stickers, and religiously refill my favorite products. Now that I’m a beauty editor, I’ve mixed other brands into my routine, but I always find myself coming back to Glossier. To me, the brand is perfect for someone who loves makeup but also values products that work to enhance your natural beauty.

Every year, I look forward to Glossier going on sale for Cyber Monday. It’s the best time to shop the already affordable products at steep discounts. This year, Glossier is offering 25% off sitewide, 30% off orders over $100, and a free Glossier candle with purchases over $125 (and trust me, their candles will make your home smell absolutely amazing). Keep reading for all of the products I would prioritize stocking up on this year.

If you’re someone who loves a glowy makeup finish, then take a look at The Party Pots Kit. It comes with three limited edition pots of bright eye and cheek shimmers. In fact, we love the shades so much, we’re definitely hoping Glossier keeps them around all year long.

    Glossier The Winter Skin Set

Glossier is so much more than just skincare products, though – just take a glimpse at The Full Face Set, which contains four makeup essentials. This includes the Stretch Fluid Foundation, the Ultralip lipstick, the Cloud Paint gel-cream blush and Lash Slick, the brand’s best-selling lifting and lengthening mascara.

    Glossier The Full Face Set

    2. Glossier skincare

Often dubbed the ‘Apple’ of the beauty industry, Glossier carries some of the best and most hard-working skincare products around. So if you’re looking to stock up on some nourishing lip balms, hand creams, moisturisers and serums like the Glossier Futuredew ahead of the holiday season, there’s no better place to look than here.

    Glossier Limited Edition Balm Dotcom

The Glossier Balm Dotcom and the Priming Moisturiser are mainstays within our beauty cabinets, especially now that the cold is picking up and we’re in desperate need of something to keep our skin from cracking in the winter breeze. And don’t forget about the Super Bounce serum, which contains a blend of hyaluronic acid and pro-vitamin B5 for smoother skin and long-lasting hydration.

Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen SPF30

    3. Glossier makeup and fragrances

Once you’re all done with getting your skincare routine in order, it’s time for the next step. Glossier makeup will always have our hearts, with pretty much every product in their collection an absolute essential for a ‘no-makeup’ makeup look (plus, each item is an absolute dream to apply).

    Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint

Icons like the Glossier Cloud Paint and the Boy Brow remain bestsellers for good reason, and although we can hardly call perfume makeup, we’ve also tossed in the Glossier You fragrance for good measure. The latter features top notes of peppercorns and white florals, as well as a base of musk. It’s utterly unique in the way that it’s designed to enhance your personal scent, meaning it’ll smell differently on everyone.

    Glossier Mini Cloud Paint Duo

We’re also big fans of several other Glossier makeup staples, including the Perfecting Skin Tint, the Lash Slick mascara, the Lip Gloss and the Stretch Balm concealer.

    Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation

    Glossier Wowder Weightless Finishing Powder

    4. Glossier merchandise (not discounted)

For the Glossier super-fan in your life, a gift from the Glossi-Wear store will go down an absolute treat. For example, they stock a range of insanely-soft hoodies, sweatshirts, beauty bags and pouches, as well as a perfectly-proportioned duffle bag and a stylish pair of socks. But just like the limited edition Black Friday gift sets, bear in mind that this merchandise is also not eligible for an additional discount. But we stan nonetheless.

What are Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday book-end a weekend-long sales event which sees tonnes of our favourite brands – from YSL to Charlotte Tilbury – reduce their stock in price to help you get your Christmas shopping done for less. That said, many retailers now run their Black Friday promotions from the start of November (we’re looking at you, Boots Black Friday deals event) to give shoppers longer to make more considered (less impulsive) purchases.

Black Friday 2023 kicked off on Friday November 24th, but the sales are carrying on over Cyber Weekend into Cyber Monday, November 27th. Retailers such as Sephora, LookFantastic and Boots already have a flurry of sales in full motion, some of which are expected to last throughout Cyber Week.

  • What It Was Like Writing the Glossier Tell-All Book

What It Was Like Writing the Glossier Tell-All Book

What parts of writing this book came really easily, and then was there a part that you found difficult to write for any reason?

Everyone wanted to talk and loved to talk about Camp Glossier, which was their annual employee off-site. It seemed like it was so much fun and wholesome. That was easy and a delight to talk about. Honestly, the hardest part was just Emily [Weiss] and our relationship and her ambivalence to the book. She felt, I believe, that she was a bit blindsided that the book was about Glossier, that her name was in the subtitle.

I felt like I was being pretty open about the process over email and that they just weren’t really taking it seriously or paying a lot of attention. I think she felt more like I was being a little shady or duplicitous and tried to do a little of the “I thought we were friends” thing. That’s when I really had to be like, “We’re not friends. We don’t hang out socially.”

I had to have this moment of standing up for myself in a way and saying, “I have a job, and it’s a writer, and it’s important, and I want to tell this very nuanced story that I think is rooted in feminism and power.” That was hard for me to say about myself. We’re in this environment where being a journalist is easy to be hated because of it.

Also, I respected this woman so much. I’m not a sadist. Causing someone pain isn’t something that I’m particularly fond of. But also there were previous versions of the book that had probably too much hand-wringing about that and too much of my own inferiority complex. That was the hardest part. It was an emotional journey of acceptance for probably both of us.

  • Run, Don’t Walk—Glossier’s Cult-Loved Concealer Formula is Now a Foundation

Run, Don’t Walk—Glossier’s Cult-Loved Concealer Formula is Now a Foundation

True to the original “stretch” formula, this foundation provides a lightweight, second-skin finish. According to the brand, this formula is composed of an 89% skincare ingredient base and 11% color pigment. It’s a gel-cream emulsion rich in hydrating, ingredients like glycerin and squalane so it won’t dry your skin out throughout the day and it can even help repair a damaged moisture barrier. Additionally, plant extracts like wild rose berry and plankton work to help reduce the appearance of excess oil or shine on the skin, making it great for most skin types—even oily. Even if your skin is sensitive to fragrance or is acne-prone, this formula could still be a match for you. It’s totally noncomedogenic and fragrance-free.

Lastly, it provides medium coverage and comes in 32 shades. I know, in the age of Fenty Beauty and 50+ shade ranges, that doesn’t sound overly impressive, but these shades are unique and totally flexible. They can adapt to your specific complexion and work to enhance the natural beauty of your specific skin tone. So go ahead, smash that buy button—I don’t think you’ll regret it, especially if you’re already a stan for the concealer!

The 20 Most Undetectable (Yet Effective) Concealers for Barely-There Makeup

“When I’m shopping for a concealer, I’m always looking for something lightweight, buildable, and hydrating! There is nothing that I hate more than a concealer that becomes cake-y and flakey by the end of the day,” shares freelance makeup artist and Kite Beauty representative, Morgan Leigh. “My favorite go to is Kite Beauty because their ingredients are beyond hydrating and buildable which is key! The packaging is also made for the on-the-go girls so it’s always easy to touch up or build coverage for a day to night look!” When applying concealer, Leigh likes to begin with an very moisturized canvas to ensure easy application of the concealer product.

For skin prep, Leigh’s go-to product is Merit’s Instant Glow Serum which uses skin-loving ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to quickly hydrate and visibly plump the skin; lending to a visibly brighter and smoother palette to start with. She then follows the serum with a moisturizer for easy concealer application that also remains glowy. After your skin is moisturized, Leigh recommends using a damp beauty blender for flawless application and the ability to build up your concealer’s coverage.

  • This New Liquid Lipstick Is So Good Our NYC Editors Went Feral for It

This New Liquid Lipstick Is So Good Our NYC Editors Went Feral for It

To be honest, I was a little hesitant about the new Glossier launch—a liquid lipstick—before I tried it. Didn’t we leave liquid lipsticks and their drying, cakey formulas in 2016 with black chokers and tie tops? Not only that, but my relationship to lipstick has changed drastically since the pandemic. I used to wear a bold lip practically every day, but after over two years of mask-wearing and not leaving my apartment, my love for bold lips fell by the wayside. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward glosses, oils, and tinted balms instead.

I’d basically all but sworn off liquid lipsticks until Glossier G Suit came along. As a die-hard fan of the brand, I knew I had to at least try it. It only took one swipe, however, before I was totally hooked. Glossier G Suit is everything I’ve always wanted a liquid lipstick to be—it’s comfortable, feels moisturizing, doesn’t settle into lines, and, most importantly, does not make your lips feel like the Sahara Desert. The colors are blurring and easy to play with and have the most luxurious, velvety finish.

  • I Tried Glossier’s All-Natural Deodorant That Defies Nature

I Tried Glossier’s All-Natural Deodorant That Defies Nature

The majority of our Deep Reviews will feature our editors’ honest, ultra-hot takes on entire product categories or multiple products from a particular beauty brand, but every so often, we’ll sprinkle in a special single-product format called Honestly, I Love It. As the name suggests, these reviews will hone in on one standout beauty formula our editors quite literally can’t shut up about. This time around, I’m highlighting Glossier’s Deodorant ($22).

I’ve always prided myself on being a good judge of products that will make a difference in my lifestyle. It’s always a plus when one of those products may also make a difference in my environment. In the past few years, the beauty industry has made notable strides toward taking environmental responsibility. More brands have begun to create clean beauty products that are fully refillable, reusable, and recyclable, cutting down waste and promoting a system that relies on the participation of their consumers to shift the narrative.

One of the brands that has done this especially well is Glossier, with the recent release of its natural, aluminum-free deodorant. It comes fully assembled with a reusable deodorant stick and case with clear instructions on how to make the best of your product (including switching out your finished deodorant stick for another without needing to toss the whole thing away). Whether consumers decide to fully participate in this effort is up to them, but it does feel good knowing that there are options to change our habits when it comes to shopping for products we use every day.

When I’m on the hunt for a deodorant, one of the biggest things I look for is longevity. What good is a deodorant that’s aesthetically pleasing and smells good if it doesn’t actually last? I’m sure a lot of people have had the experience of reapplying deodorant throughout the day to combat odor and perspiration. I can personally attest to the matter, as I’m always on the move, and unfortunately, I have a wardrobe that’s at least 95% white and cream. That’s right: Deodorant stains have no mercy on your gorgeous garments. That’s where Glossier’s Deodorant comes in.

Whether you decided to make the switch from antiperspirant to regular deodorant mid-pandemic, or are just looking to revamp your routine essentials in favor of more streamlined formulas, Glossier’s first launch of the year should be right up your alley.

They also come in three signature scents, including cult-favorite Glossier You, pear- and cypress-noted Orange Blossom Neroli, and the introduction of its sandalwood- and fig leaf-powered Sandstone fragrance. And for those who are sensitive to scent, the brand has also designed a fragrance-free option to keep you fresh.

Each twist-up deodorant in the range retails at $22, and contains hydrating coconut oil as a base for soft and supple underarms, along with a blend of superfruit elderberry extract, magnesium hydroxide, and potato starch, to keep odor and wetness at bay. The deodorant case itself is also recyclable and reusable, with refills available for $18 each. To celebrate the launch, Glossier has also partnered with Club Pilates to sponsor nationwide sessions through the month of January where guests can receive Glossier gifts—including the Deodorant—following their class of choice.

As an added bonus for Glossier You lovers, customers can now double up on notes of the peppery iris, ambrox, and ambrette fragrance for less, thanks to the brand’s new and limited-edition body bundle. In addition to receiving a bottle of Glossier You Eau de Parfum, the $75 set (which is currently on markdown) also includes a tube of its companion deodorant to enjoy for an all-day and into the night scent.

Glossier Is About to Enter an Entirely New Product Category

Glossier is officially expanding beyond its beauty offerings of skin-care, color cosmetics, body care and fragrance and entering a new, perhaps unexpected, category: deodorant

The beauty brand, which is set to enter into its first major retail partnership with Sephora in the coming months, is introducing The Glossier Deodorant, a vegan, cruelty-free, non-comedogenic formula on Jan. 17. Described in a brand press release as a “smooth-glide, odor defense deodorant stick” made with “sensitive pits in mind,” the refillable solid is aluminum-, baking soda-, acid- and water-free. It instead relies on elderberry extract, coconut oil and, interestingly enough, potato starch (a natural moisture-absorbing ingredient).

15 Eyebrow Gels That Will Help You Achieve Zendaya-Esque Brows

    Rosdiana Ciaravolo

As the owner of recently-bleached brows, I can tell you one thing for sure: they make a huge difference to your face. Eyes are the windows to the soul but let’s not pretend that eyebrows aren’t just as important. The perfect brow (ahem, Zendaya) isn’t birthed overnight; it takes a lot of training, threading, waxing, and an arduous search for the perfect brow gel. Maybe you use a brow pencil to add depth or religiously apply a brow-growth serum. Either way, topping it off with a brow gel is essential. “Eyebrow gel is the easiest way to tame brows and make them look fuller and groomed,” says makeup artist Tasha Brown, who works with Yara Shahidi, Logan Browning, and Maggie Betts.

“I use clear brows gel and brush brows upwards and out for basic grooming. My go-to technique is to use a brow powder and create small, hair-like strokes in the direction the hair grows in the brows. Then I finish with a generous coating of tinted brow gel for a clean, believable effect.” Like many beauty lovers, Betts’s favorite gel is none other than the fan-favorite Glossier Brow Boy. Ahead, Boy Brow and 14 other gels will keep your brow game strong.

Jared Bailey is the Benefit Cosmetics Global Brow Expert.

Tasha Brown is a celebrity makeup artist who’s clients include Alicia Keys and Whitney Peak.

“Brow gels are the simplest way to style, redirect, fill, or tame brow hairs,” says Bailey. “It really depends on the nature of your brows, you might use it to comb it up in a pleasing, fluffy manner. You might use it to keep your shape and place all day, or you might use them to really tame stubborn hairs that tend to go crazy on you,” adds Healy.

Why are people using soap as brow gel?

“People love using this hack because it’s an inexpensive way to get a stronghold and help keep your brows in place all day, especially if you have thick, unruly brow hairs,” says Bailey. “It’s actually considered an old-Hollywood secret that has been used by makeup artists on set, in editorial beauty and fashion shoots, and even in drag makeup for decades.” Soap brows are a great way to cheat laminated brows. “It’s a highly stylized look, but to me, it’s not a no-makeup makeup look,” says Healy. “It looks like the brows have been manipulated in such a way. There are a lot of expensive products on the market that are soap brow-like products, but good old-fashioned soap, specifically a clear bar of Glycerine soap, will do the job. I always recommend Pears, it’s just a very simple Glycerine soap that you see commonly around.”

What is the best eyebrow gel?

“Finding the right brow gel for you can be really personal depending on how you want it to perform,” says Bailey. “I love brow gels that don’t get crispy or crunchy and ones that don’t leave a residue,” says Healy. “Sometimes brow gels leave this flakiness behind and I prefer when they leave a pliable, flexible hold. For me, that’s a light to medium weight hold. If you need something a little bit more intense, you can opt for a mustache wax, and I think that’s even better than using a bar of soap. It’s also inexpensive, but it’s made for hair and it does give a bit of more substantial hold. But, most people are good with a basic, medium brow gel, and people don’t always know that you can in fact layer your brow gels.”

What are the different types of brow gels?

“These days, there are so many different types,” says Healy. For Bailey, answering these questions is key to finding your perfect brow gel. “Do you want a strong hold or a light hold? Do you want a gel with a tint or clear? Fiber enhanced gel for volume or something more flat? Quick dry time or something more workable?” The two most common types of brow gels are Brow Setting Gels and Fiber Brow gels. A setting brow keeps hairs in place, while a fiber gel can help the brow look fluffier and more voluminous.

24 Gift-Worthy Candles That Most Definitely Spark Joy

We know it’s hard to find the right gifts for your loved ones, so we’ve compiled a ton of fashion and beauty-focused gift guides tailored to a range of interests and budgets. Check out our latest below and find more right here.

A candle may not immediately seem like the most creative holiday gift option — cue “Saturday Night Live”‘s peach candle song (a tragically under-appreciated sketch). But just because something is a bit cliché doesn’t mean it’s not also a classic and a crowd pleaser. It’s just about finding the right scent and vibe for the giftee.
