    Gadar 2, the period action drama that hit the theatres in August, this year, has now emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood in recent times. Sunny Deol, the senior Bollywood superstar reprised his much-loved character Tara Singh in the film, which is a sequel to the 2001-released iconic film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The project also marked the star’s reunion with senior filmmaker Anil Sharma, after a long gap. 

    In an Exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, director Anil Sharma extensively spoke about his latest outing, Gadar 2. Interestingly, the veteran director also revealed that he is a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan, and reacted to the official trailer of the superstar’s upcoming project, Jawan.

    Anil Sharma loved Shah Rukh Khan’s bald look in Jawan trailer

    In his interview with Pinkvilla, the senior director opened up about his fondness for Shah Rukh Khan. When he was asked what he feels about the trailer of Jawan, the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer which is expected to be the third blockbuster of the year after Pathaan and Gadar 2, Anil Sharma had an interesting answer.

    “I just loved the Jawan trailer. I’ve always been a fan of Shah Rukh Khan. I’m so impressed, especially with the bald look he sported in the trailer, it is simply fantastic. I absolutely loved it and I’m gonna watch Jawan on its release day itself,” said Sharma, as he heaped praises on Shah Rukh Khan and Jawan trailer. 

    The Gadar 2 director about working with Shah Rukh Khan

    When Anil Sharma was asked why he never thought of working with Shah Rukh Khan despite being in the film industry and having a great fondness for the superstar, the filmmaker had a simple answer. “I never got a chance to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan. If I ever get a chance, I’ll definitely work with him. Shah Rukh is a big star now, filmmakers are waiting in queue to work with him. How am I gonna get a chance? So, I don’t think about it much,” said the Gadar 2 director.

    Gadar 2 star Sunny Deol is riding high in his professional career once again after the humongous success of his recent release which also stars Ameesha Patel as the lead heroine. The Anil Sharma directorial has not only received positive reviews from the critics but also plethora of love from the audience. Following the much-hype around his film, the actor has been preoccupied with several interviews. Now, in one of the interviews, the actor made a surprising revelation about being dyslexic as a child.

    Sunny Deol opens up on being a dyslexic child

    In an interview with popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, Sunny Deol revealed how Telemprompters were his sneaky nemesis and the public speaking jitters were rooted to the very same cause. The actor turned politician went on to reveal that he would often get slapped for not scoring well in studies, but no one really knew what dyslexia even meant back then.

    He said, “I was dyslexic as a child. Back then, we didn’t even know what that meant! Thappad padte the, duffer hai, padhai nahi aati (I would get slapped, called duffer for not being able to study). Even now when it comes to reading, sometimes the words seem all jumbled up.”

     

    In addition to this, he also shared that when people ask him to use a teleprompter during a public gathering, he refuses. “I am like, ‘You tell me what to say, I will try to say it.”. Calling being dyslexic as ‘one aspect’ of his personality, he revealed having a very high IQ. “Me being dyslexic never came up in conversation over the years. But it used to get difficult, initially I would feel (nervous) to speak.” Furthermore, Gadar 2 actor also confesses that with age he feels being more candid. In the initial times, when he was handed over the microphone, he would wonder, “Now what do I say?”

    The Border actor made a comeback to the big screen nearly nine years after Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 with the sequel of the iconic 2001 release, Gadar. The film shattered all the records and emerged as the highest grossing film of the year after Pathaan. Recently, the film crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office.

The sequel to their 2001 blockbuster romantic drama, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2, is receiving immense love from audiences of all ages. The movie that sees Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel stepping into the shoes of their iconic characters, Tara Singh and Sakina, after 22 years, Gadar 2 also stars Director Anil Sharma’s son, Utkarsh Sharma, as Jeetey. Now, when the entire nation is gripped by the Gadar fever, the leading lady of Gadar 2 – Ameesha Patel, has opened up about that one thing that she would like to change in the movie.

    In a recent interview with ETimes, when Ameesha Patel was asked about one thing that she wished makers could have done differently with Gadar 2 and what she would like to change in the film, to which the actor replied, “Nothing really but I wish I was the editor. I would have edited and re-edited few things and made it maybe crisper.”

    When asked about her reaction to Gadar 2 success, the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai star responded, “It is phenomenal, crazy, and unbelievable, it’s like history is recreating itself all over again. It’s a bit hard to digest, it is still sinking in because we knew that the audiences love Tara and Sakina and we know that the audience has lived with them for 22 years but this outburst of love is very overwhelming.”

    Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in the leading roles. It also stars Manish Wadhwa as the lead antagonist along with Simrat Kaur, Gaurav Chopra, and Luv Sinha in supporting roles. In Gadar 2, Tara Singh takes the story ahead and goes to Pakistan to find his son, Jeetey. Gadar 2 clashed with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam’s OMG 2, however, the film still managed to become a blockbuster by earning Rs 284 crore in the first week of its release.
