Confirmed: This Free People Jacket Is the Perfect All-Seasons Style

While each product featured is independently selected by our editors, we may include paid promotion. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission. Read more about our Product Review Guidelines here.

In my world, some things are inevitable come fall: cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice products consuming my local Trader Joe’s, my mom playing Christmas music in her car as early as September, and — perhaps most predictable of all — me buying a new Free People jacket that I’ll wear through the new year.

While some people might kickstart their autumnal festivities with an apple-picking excursion, my fall doesn’t really begin until I’ve added a cozy, new Free People style to my closet. Last year’s elected favorite was none other than the Pippa Packable Puffer Jacket — which is still my go-to travel jacket. My style of choice this season, however, is the Free People Chloe Jacket ($198).

    Main Image

I’m far from the first person to fall in love with the comfy jacket; not only has it been bubbling up on TikTok, but the topper is also regarded as one of Free People’s bestselling styles. With its flattering fit, quilted composition, and wide array of pattern options, it’s not hard to see why this statement piece has garnered so much attention — along with a permanent spot in my wardrobe. Ahead, I break down what makes this Free People jacket one of fall 2024’s best coats.

What I Like About Free People’s Chloe Jacket

First and foremost, I love just how endlessly comfortable this jacket is. It’s made from a lightweight cotton and rayon material, with a polyester filling that’s plush and squishy; it’s like getting all the benefits of a cozy down jacket rolled into the structure of a chunky cardigan. The material isn’t so heavy that I feel overwhelmed or constricted, but it’s also just thick enough to where I can comfortably wear it in lower winter temperatures.

This jacket’s styling versatility is also endless — whether I want to layer it with a basic T-shirt or team it with a bulky sweater, the product’s oversize fit makes it functional enough to work with so many different clothing types. And I appreciate that despite having a steeper price tag, I feel like I’m getting the most for my money with this Free People jacket. I’ve been wearing it nonstop already this fall (even in 70-degree temperatures) and I know that I’ll have no issue wearing it throughout the colder winter months, too. With its floral design, I could probably even get away with donning it throughout the spring season!

Its lightweight build is so unique, I honestly forget that I’m often wearing a jacket at all. Plus, the style’s packable design makes it a great option for travel. Whether I’m embarking on a road trip or jet setting to another country, it’s a style that doesn’t take up too much packing space in my carry-on suitcase.

    What’s Worth Noting

Unlike traditional zippered or button-down jackets, this style is fitted with hook closure accents, which keep both sides of the jacket pulled together for a more closed-in look. On occasion, the hooks will unlatch and I’ll have to reattach them; overall, I find myself fidgeting with this jacket more as opposed to standard zippered styles. Additionally, because of its dolman silhouette, the layer also has a boxier design. The looser fit gives the jacket a lived-in feel that I enjoy, but other reviewers noted it was a bit too oversize for their preferences. I recommend referencing Free People’s style guide to source your perfect size, and consider sizing down if you’re concerned about it being too large on you.

Who Is Free People’s Chloe Jacket Best For?

If you’re in the market for a style that you can comfortably wear through even the most confusing transitional weather — from chilled mornings to warm afternoons and cold nights — this Free People jacket will be your new go-to. It’s breathable enough that you won’t feel bogged down by heavy material, but its quilted design also ensures ample warmth and insulation in lower temperatures. With a wide variety of pattern and color options, you won’t have any trouble finding your dream style — or even stocking up on the jacket in multiple variations (because the more, the merrier!).

    Additional Details

    • The jacket is available in US women’s sizes XS through XL.
    • It comes in 12 different pattern and color options, including a checkered black and white style, striped red and brown variation, and a floral maroon combo (my print of choice).
    • This jacket is crafted from a quilted fabrication that’s plush and surprisingly warm, with an insulated design that’ll help users stay warm in brisk seasonal temperatures.

  • Looks For Less: Get Hailey Bieber’s Style On A Budget

Looks For Less: Get Hailey Bieber’s Style On A Budget

    [ad_1]

    New mother
Hailey Bieber has been the ultimate influencer for just about everyone on the planet. She’s dictated trends like chrome nails, glazed donut skin (thanks, rhode), and even hair color. And if Hailey Bieber uses Kosas concealer, so do we.

Not only does she make a product look easy to use, she’s also a supermodel who knows trends
before the public does. Listening to Hailey Bieber expound about trends is the smart thing to do.

But one thing I am confident about is the fact that I cannot afford
Hailey Bieber’s entire wardrobe. Yes, she may be the inspiration for our capsule closets and obsession with basics…she’s also a multi-millionaire. And I, sadly, am not.

That’s not going to stop me from aspiring to a supermodel-caliber closet on a regular salary. In fact, since
Hailey celebrates the basics so much, it actually makes her style affordable to recreate. No one can tell if Hailey’s tee is Prada and mine is H&M…

If you’re going to emulate a celebrity’s style, it’s key to invest in pieces where quality makes a visible difference like leather jackets or dresses. But ultimately, we’re looking to shop smarter and save money.

Hailey Bieber has iconic outfits that we all can easily achieve, so let’s look into how to get her look for less!

    Hailey’s All White Moment

Hailey is blessed. Even while pregnant with son, Jack Blues Bieber, she can wear regular-sized clothing. But what I especially like about this outfit is that it works for multiple occasions and looks terrific on all body types.

Here are some great options for a similar Hailey-inspired look:

And, of course, there’s the bag. A Birkin knockoff by YSL is awesome, but even then, still too pricey. Luckily enough, the market’s glutted with Birkin dupes that are more affordable.

    An Easy Fall Trench Look

Honestly, this is such a fantastic look that’s easily put together with essential items already in your closet: a white tank, trousers, and trench coat. What Hailey does best is make basic look thrilling. And an easily achievable look.

Plus, a trench coat is a necessity when it comes to fall weather. It’s one of the most underrated outerwear pieces for the fashion lover. A trench coat and heels says corporate, it gives off an official vibe that I love.

If you want this ensemble, here are a few close-to-identical pieces:

    A Staple Oversized Leather Jacket

Now that we’re suddenly transitioning into fall weather, we need to start thinking about cold weather pieces. If there’s one thing that is
very Hailey Bieber, it’s an oversized leather jacket.

She’s constantly photographed with a big leather Balenciaga bomber jacket — upwards of $6,000. So while we can’t afford Hailey’s iconic leather jacket — that she wears with everything — we
    can replicate.

These are my favorite leather bombers that are inspired by Hailey:

    A Sassy Fur Coat

If you’re partial to the mob wife aesthetic, this one’s for you. When Mrs. Bieber donned this YSL faux fur jacket with a pair of jeans, red pumps, and sunnies, we knew this would be a style inspo pic for many.

Nothing makes you feel sassier than a fur coat. When I wear one, I seriously feel like a runway model hiding secrets in my jacket. Drape it over a dress for added warmth this winter, with leather leggings, or even jeans like HB.

Here are some of my favorite oversized fur coats:

    A Simple Black Dress

We all love a little black dress. But again, the weather is transitional right now. Great for date night, or dinner with your friends, or just a special occasion in general. I love this dress on Hailey because she lets her accessories do the talking.

Whether you choose to style it with simple jewelry and a chic up-do, or colorful heels and matching bag, with a simple black dress like Hailey’s Bottega Veneta dress you cannot go wrong.

Again, a $2,900 dress isn’t the ideal price tag, I’ve found a few similar looks for far less:

    And A Fun Red Dress

Holiday Season calls for a red dress…I know it, you know it. So let’s get it out of the way early! Have one on deck so you don’t have to stress about it come December.

What amazing about this Hailey look is that she really commits to the all red. Red pumps, red lip, red strawberry earrings, and of course…the red dress.

This Ermanno Scervino Fall 2023 dress is, of course, far beyond our price range. But something like it is certainly achievable. Just look for a structured empire waist and tight bodice on your strapless dress.

Here are a few similar options if you want the Bieber look:

FP Movement x On Sneaker Collab Will Have You Running On Clouds

    [ad_1]

Thanks to some stellar weather, a summer full of sports (from the 2024 Olympics to the US Open), the rise of run clubs, and one new sneaker collaboration, it’s no wonder we feel like moving our bodies more. Free People’s activewear brand, FP Movement, which we know and love for its performance-ready and fashion-forward activewear, is teaming up with the on-trend sneaker brand: On. And we couldn’t be more excited to slip them on.

“Rooted in a shared mission to support fitness and wellness for all, FP Movement and On are proud to announce a two-style footwear collaboration designed to encourage their communities to discover just how simple and freeing it can be to make movement a regular part of everyday life,” reads the press release.

The limited-edition, two-style sneaker collection features reimagined versions of Switzerland-based brand On’s CloudTec-cushioned Cloudmonster ($180) and Cloudnova Form 2 sneakers ($150) with an FP Movement twist.

“This project was our chance to bring [FP Movement’s] perspective on color and graphic that is completely different to On’s, while maintaining the innovation, sensation, and performance that everyone expects from an On product,” says Max Smith, global commercial lead of special projects at On.

Both the Cloudmonster (a running sneaker) and Cloudnova Form 2 (a lifestyle sneaker) feature an exclusive floral-printed insole, FP Movement’s signature neon pops of color (this time in 2024’s hottest color: red), and both brands’ logos.

  • Insights On Fall Fashion 2024

    Insights On Fall Fashion 2024

    [ad_1]

I can’t believe I’m saying this either: but it’s time to start shopping for your fall clothes. You’ve probably seen a few fall fashion-focused TikToks…and stores have even started rolling out Halloween candy.

So yes, we’re looking ahead, but for good reason. First, I’m all about getting ahead of the trends. It’s why people buy UGGs in the summer: you can nab all of the good sizes and colors before the latest UGGs are even a gleam in everyone else’s eye.

If you wait until the last minute, chances are that stores are already stocking their shelves for winter…and we don’t have time for that.

This fall’s biggest trend? Skorts. Everywhere I go, I see at least one person sporting a skort. And while I love a good skort, I truly wasn’t expecting it. You can also expect brown — especially orange tones — to be this year’s color of the season.

We’re moving towards menswear again, emphasizing blazers and plaid tweed trousers. The fashion world is partial to softer, more professional-looking clothing after a summer-long soiree of florals and prints.

Even more interesting is the return of the polka dot. Not my favorite trend resurfacing, but a trend nonetheless. Move over garden party florals, here come unironic polka dots! In all forms.

So, if you’re looking to start your shopping a little early but want to avoid scrolling through TikTok to find the answers…here are our fall fashion trends for 2024!

    Neutrals

    Emma Chamberlain via Instagram

While summer 2024 was all about bright colors and fun prints, fall is more focused on neutrals. Since we’re already losing our tans, it can be easy to feel washed out in vibrant pinks and oranges…which is exactly why we’re leaning towards tans and browns.

Whether it’s a top or bottom, basics are essential for a successful wardrobe. If you’ve already built your capsule closet thanks to Hailey Bieber’s advice, or you’re looking to stock up on your favorite tee, make sure you pack in the neutrals so you’ll always have an acceptable outfit. Looking for fun neutrals? Here are my picks:

    Norma Kamali Drop Shoulder Shirt

    GAP Modern Rib Cardigan

Hollister Livvy Ultra High Rise Linen Blend Wide Leg Pants

    SNDYS x Revolve Cassis Skirt

    Chunky Sweaters

fall fashion trends 2024Matilda Djerf via Instagram

Think oversized cable knits and sailor sweaters. There’s nothing that screams fall more than a sweater you’re basically swimming in. Even though it’s still summer through most of September (and the weather reflects this), I start building my sweater collection early.

This year, I’m loving the retro bell sleeve style to truly get the most comfort out of your sweater style. Look out for notch neck collars and rugby-style sweaters as well. I love a good chunky sweater, here are my faves:

    Everlane The Cocoon Crew

PISTOLA Alpine Cozy Crew Neck Sweater

    Free People Easy Street Tunic

    Tuckernuck Beechwood Crewneck Sweater

    Polka Dots

fall fashion trends 2024Kendall Jenner Vogue ITALIA – Mert Alas

As I mentioned earlier, this one’s a bit weird for me to bring up. Definitely not my favorite trend. In fact, it’s one I think we’ll regret. But I digress, to each their own.

Expect to see a plethora of polka dots on dresses, shirts, pants, skirts — even sweaters! — this year. To my eyes, they’re not flattering and a bit childish. And reminiscent of my kindergarten teacher or a nasty matriarchal nanny in movies. Regardless, some influencer will somehow convince everyone to wear polka dots soon enough, I fear. If I had to wear polka dots, I’d wear these:

    Jenni Kayne Sawyer Blouse

    RIXO Ardith Skirt

    SNDYS x Revolve Chloe Dress

    English Prep School

fall fashion trends 2024Paige Desorbo via Instagram

With trends like Quiet Luxury and Old Money aesthetics continuing to surge — thanks to the likes of Sofia Richie — may I introduce the English prep school style? It’s exactly what you’d imagine: blazers, corduroy, tweed, ties, button-downs, equestrian style.

Think of Bella Hadid’s recent equestrian outfits or Sofia Richie’s preppy looks. The idea is to look polished, a tad collegiate, and super studious. Almost as if you have a library date, or you spend your weekends reading Jane Austen. My favorite British boarding school pieces are:

    SNDYS Hills Blazer

    SNDYS x Revolve Emiliana Top

    Camila Coelho Mireia Tailored Jacket

    Sheer and Lace

fall fashion trends 2024Kylie Jenner via Instagram

Another trend I’ve seen a lot is a dark, romantic vibe. Textures like lace will be popular, or darker floral patterns. Gobs of gothic inspiration, yet with hyper-feminine features that help the piece pop.

Lace bodysuits, appliqued dresses, and more will be popular this fall. You’ll see lots of sheer layering, some rich jewel tones like emerald and ruby, and a touch of velvet. The dark romance theme is akin to royalty: luxurious fabrics, intentional draping, and deep hues. If you want some sheer style this fall, here are easy options:

    Majorelle Ann Mini Dress

    NIA Lace Madrid Tank

    Topshop Lace Tiered Maxi Skirt

    That’s A Wrap!

fall fashion trends 2024Hailey Bieber via Instagram

No, the article isn’t over…I’m talking about the return of the wrap. Whether it’s a wrap poncho, coat, dress, or scarf, the wrap is back. And I’m here for it!

There’s nothing more chic or sassy than draping a simply gorgeous scarf around your head and shoulders when the temperature drops. I’m also loving the poncho style this fall, expect to see many more of these to pop up in stores. Here are my picks:

Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Diamond Weave Blanket Scarf

White and Warren Cashmere Travel Wrap

BHLDN Rue Semi Sheer Pashmina Wrap

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

The current bestselling dresses at Free People are appropriate for a range of events — which is no surprise, since summer is the time for stacked calendars. From flouncy beach minis and everyday shifts that can be thrown over a bathing suit or sports bra, to free-flowing maxis with that signature, vintage-inspired bohemian spirit, the styles really run the gamut. But after combing through the reviews on all of them, we’ve narrowed it down to eight top-rated looks that are also dispersed by price point and should get you the most bang for your buck.

Not only will these dresses get tons of wear this season, they’ll also bring on the compliments from passersby, as well as fellow guests at the party. Another common trait? They can all be dressed up or down — so, for example, you could wear the flouncy Selkie x FP corseted mini bare, accessorized with just heels and a statement necklace, or you could layer it over a white tee with rolled sleeves and finish it off with high-tops, reveling in the ultimate ’90s moment when you hit the streets.

Ahead, read why these eight dresses are our favorite options from Free People right now, and pay close attention to customer feedback, which may tap into important information regarding sizing, length, or the sheer factor of certain materials.

  • This Free People Set Is My Go-To Summer Vacation Outfit

This Free People Set Is My Go-To Summer Vacation Outfit

    [ad_1]

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

One of my favorite things about going on vacation is planning my outfits (and yes, I do search for city-specific outfit inspiration on Pinterest). What I don’t love is then having to cut down my clothing options so they fit in a single carry-on bag. When you have limited space in your suitcase, there’s no room to bring pieces you aren’t sure about. Every ‘fit has to work — and that’s when a matching set can come in handy. Co-ords automatically look good together, and can help take the stress out of packing by guaranteeing there’s no space wasted on clothing items you’re uncertain about.

So when I was packing for an upcoming trip, I wanted to reach for the sets I already had in my closet. But most of the ones I owned were on the casual side — which is why Free People’s Donnie Short Set ($78) caught my eye when I was browsing the brand’s site. The two pieces — a flowy baby doll top with puff sleeves and matching bottoms — were stylish and on-trend, but also looked like something I could easily dress up or down depending on the occasion.

    Main Image

Having worn the set a few times before my trip, I’m sharing my honest thoughts on Free People’s Donnie Short Set — and why it may be worth adding to your summer outfit lineup, too.

What I Like About the Free People Donnie Short Set

When it comes to summer and travel-friendly clothes, I always look for cotton or linen fabrics that’ll keep me cool on hot days — and the Donnie Short Set immediately got some points when I saw it was made of cotton. It feels lightweight and breezy on, but isn’t thin or see-through like other cotton sets I’ve tried before. The two pieces also have some stretch in the bust and waistband of the shorts that make them comfortable for all-day wear, which is important if you’re doing a lot of walking, sitting, or indulging (I’d planned on doing all three).

Another thing I like about this Free People set is how effortlessly chic it is. The baby doll top’s almost empire waistline, puff sleeves, and bow-tie back instantly make me feel like I’m in my regency core era, à la “Bridgerton” — but the matching shorts bring the look back to the 21st century.

Finally, for my trip, I loved how easy it was to dress the cotton set up or down. I could easily style it with a pair of wedges and a statement bag or dress it down with a pair of sneakers. Another plus was that each item made for a great basic on its own. I could get away with wearing the summer whites together or separately with other pieces in my closet. The versatility of this set is ultimately what really won me over — and for that reason, I have no doubt that I’ll be wearing this on repeat both at home and on vacation.

What to Know Before Buying the Free People Donnie Short Set

I like how both pieces fit, but did decide to size down in this set because it’s flowy and has a good amount of stretch. I’m between sizes — medium and large — and found the top and bottom to be pretty roomy even after I went down to a medium. I will also note that it’s tricky to wear a bra with this shirt if you don’t want it to show through the cutout. I got around this with a sticky bra, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re thinking of buying the set.

Who the Free People Donnie Short Set Is Best For

This matching set is best for anyone who is looking for a comfortable and stylish outfit for summer. The two pieces are very easy to mix and match with other basics — so they’d also work great for anyone looking to expand their summer wardrobe.

Additional Details About the Free People Donnie Short Set

    • The Donnie Short Set is made of 100 percent cotton.
    • The set comes in 3 colors — Barbados Cherry, Optic White, and Brownie.
    • It is available in sizes XS-XL.

Where Is the Donnie Short Set Available to Shop?

  • I’ll Be Living in These Free People Denim Shorts 24/7 This Summer

I’ll Be Living in These Free People Denim Shorts 24/7 This Summer

    [ad_1]

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

Denim shorts feel so synonymous with summer, which is precisely why I start bulk-buying the style whenever temperatures begin to heat up. Sure, I love opting for a flowy maxi dress or comfy romper on occasion, but when it comes to building out my dream summer uniform — aka what I can reliably wear for a handful of different dress codes or destinations (it is vacation season, after all) — denim shorts are always at the center of my everyday looks.

With so many pairs already in my closet, this season I sought out to find a style with a little more edge — ideally something that’s trendy yet timeless, breathable yet a touch more formal, and comfortable yet still flattering. Given Free People’s wide assortment of denim, I turned to the brand looking for some extra product inspiration and immediately fell in love with these Free People We the Free Boomerang Long Shorts ($98) — which, to no one’s surprise, I’ve basically been wearing on repeat everyday.

    Main Image

Ahead, I break down what it is that makes these Free People denim shorts so great — aside from their undeniably cool design (which is already a given). From the pair’s lengthy silhouette to its deep side pockets and flattering fit, I’d argue that no summer wardrobe is complete without having this pair incorporated into it.

What I Like About These Free People Denim Shorts

As someone with an hourglass shape, I’m always weary of purchasing nonstretch denim pieces — the combination of wide hips and a smaller waist usually requires bottoms with a little extra wiggle room and stretch. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortability provided by these Free People denim shorts, which are made from a 100 percent cotton material. Despite their nonstretch design, the shorts are breathable and easy to move around, with a waist-hugging fit that accentuates my curves and cultivates a more tailored look.

The might-wash coloring is a bit easier to style than traditional dark-wash denim, giving me the freedom to dress them up or down accordingly; during the day I can throw them on with a cropped white T-shirt, striped button-down top, and everyday sneakers for something sporty and fun. Then come nighttime, I can pair these long shorts with a black corset top, oversize blazer, and thong sandals for a dinner date or club rendezvous.

I also appreciate the unique silhouette of these denim shorts, which makes them feel one-of-a-kind and unlike anything else in my closet. The Free People shorts have a lengthier, Bermuda-like design that extends past my mid-thigh so that the hem hovers just above my knees. Booty shorts are a little too cheeky to fit within my style wheelhouse, so I appreciate the extra coverage provided by these long denim shorts. Crisscross jeans are also so trendy among celebrities at the moment — Taylor Swift and Hailey Bieber have both sported similar denim styles — and I like that these jean shorts give me a way into the trend, while still looking classic enough to wear long after the fad dissipates.

    What’s Worth Noting

As noted on Free People’s website and in several shopper reviews, these nonstretch shorts run small, so it’s recommended that you size up in order to ensure a more comfortable fit. This style also boasts a mid-rise design that’s made to sit between the hips and belly button, but with its criss-cross waistline, some shoppers have reported that it has a tendency to fit awkwardly depending on your body type and the size you order; if you have a curvier shape, the short’s asymmetrical waistline might not look as distinct compared to those with a straighter figure. Make sure you reference Free People’s size guide prior to ordering the pair.

Who Are These Free People Denim Shorts Best For?

If you (like me) are a denim enthusiast looking to swap out your jeans in favor of a more summer-friendly style, I can’t recommend these shorts enough. They’re unique, functional, and easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion. Plus, they blend two styles into one with a lengthier, Bermuda-like silhouette and denim composition. Whether you’re packing them for an upcoming vacation, wearing them casually around the house, or donning them beachside, you’ll be able to get extended wear out of the shorts, and feel comfortable wearing them in even the warmest temperatures.

Where Are These Denim Shorts Available to Shop?

These shorts are available to shop exclusively at Free People.

    Additional Details

    • These Free People denim shorts are available in US women’s sizes 24-33.
    • They come in four different colorways, including a snowcone white, lightwash blue, and charcoal nightshift (my shade of choice).
    • Since they’re made from a 100 percent cotton material, it’s recommended that you machine wash them cold with similar colors; this will help to preserve the short’s quality longer.

If scampering around Coachella’s polo grounds this year taught me anything, it’s that Western looks are in (thank you, Beyoncé), and the trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. While I wouldn’t necessarily find myself donning a cowboy hat on a random Tuesday night before heading out to dinner with my girlfriends, I can absolutely envision myself in a pair of Western-themed boots. Cowboy boots would be an easy choice, but before you hit “add to cart” on the pair you’ve been eyeing, allow me to introduce you to something I guarantee you’re going to like even better.

Free People teamed up with the shoe brand Jeffery Campbell and the leather-goods brand Understated Leather to create the shoe of my (and probably your) dreams. Enter: the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boot ($348). Yes, the name is a mouthful, but as soon as I saw a photo of them online, I knew I was going to be obsessed. Ever since I received them, they’ve had me in an absolute chokehold, and for good reason. The quality is perfection, they’re comfortable, and they can be styled with virtually anything in my closet.

    Main Image

They’re one part moto boot, one part cowboy boot, and all around great for dancing, walking, and just general frolicking, which I am going to find myself doing a lot of in the coming months.

Keep scrolling to read my full review of the boots I’ll be wearing nonstop this summer and beyond.

What I Like About the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots

First and foremost, the number one thing I noticed about these boots when I took them out of their box was the quality. They’re made of thick, heavy leather, and I could feel how well-constructed they are as soon as I touched them. However, although they’re sturdy, they aren’t uncomfortable to walk in. I’ve found that most boots take a breaking-in period, but I didn’t have that problem with these. So far, I’ve worn them out to dinner, to a concert, and to an outdoor picnic, all with zero issues. I’ve done quite a bit of walking in them, and I haven’t had to deal with blisters or chafing (although I should note that I make sure to wear a pair of thick socks with them).

The design is also utter perfection. They’re essentially a motorcycle boot with Western-inspired stitching, which makes them an easy grab when I’m heading out of the house, no matter what I’m wearing. Plus, the harness on the shoes is removable, so if you want to opt for a more pared-down look, you can do that as well. The design is unique enough that I get tons of “where did you get those?” questions whenever I’m out and about, but it’s also simple enough to be a staple shoe in my closet.

I haven’t yet had a chance to wear them to a festival, but I already know they’re going to be my go-to shoe for any occasion where I need to walk a lot and still look fashionable at the same time.

What’s Worth Noting About the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots

The boots come in two color options, black and brown, both of which are stunning. I had a hard time choosing between the two options, but I ended up going with black because the majority of my wardrobe is the same shade. If you’re having a hard time picking, I’d suggest thinking about what color will go best with the rest of the clothes in your closet.

I was a little stressed when it came to sizing, because I didn’t try on the shoes in person, but I went with my typical size 8. The boot fits well, even with a thick sock, but I probably could have sized up half a size for a little more room. Boots are often a hit or miss for me because of the size of my legs, but I still had extra room around my 14.5-inch calves once I slipped these on.

Who Are the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots Best For?

The design of these boots is so versatile that I’d suggest them for essentially anyone. Whether you’re looking for comfortable boots you can wear all day long at a music festival, a standout pair to wear to a concert, or boots that match virtually any outfit, these would be my pick. They’re the perfect mix of a motorcycle boot and a cowboy boot, and look cute with everything from jeans to dresses to shorts.

Although I’ve styled them in numerous ways, I think my favorite way to wear them in the coming months is going to be with a pair of boxer shorts, a white tank, and an oversized leather jacket. Casual, but still chic.

Where Are the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots Available?

These boots are available directly on the Free People website, the Jeffrey Campbell website, and the Understated Leather website.

  • Tashi Duncan Is Our Style Icon Of The Summer

Tashi Duncan Is Our Style Icon Of The Summer

    [ad_1]

If there’s one thing the internet loves, it’s a film with a love triangle. We’ve tirelessly argued over Team Edward versus Team Jacob, Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, Team Stefan or Team Damon, Team (insert attractive young male star) or Team (insert second attractive young male star).

So, when Luca Guadagnino’s latest homoerotic cinematic masterpiece —
Challengers — debuted, you knew the world would be hooked. Not only does Challengers offer up steamy scenes, but it includes a recipe for instant success: Zendaya as the female lead, and two rapidly rising young leading men — Josh O’Connor (Patrick Zweig) and Mike Faist (Art Donaldson) — for the world to fawn over.

Yes, it’s Zendaya’s time to be the
villain as Tashi Duncan — although the internet’s still debating whether she’s a feminist icon or just plain evil. Already receiving high praise as one of the best movies of 2024 so far — our review was pretty glowing, too.

But I couldn’t help but notice that
Challengers solidifies a major shift in the fashion trendscape. Zendaya and her stylist — Law Roach — are known for their emblematic looks that set trends for the following year — and years to come. The verdict is in…luxury athleisure has never been more popular.

    Similar to
Quiet Luxury made popular by shows like SuccessionSuccessionand It-Girls like Sofia Richie, luxury athleisure gives a money vibe…without the display of labels. Challengers is all about looking like an old-money tennis pro.

Zendaya’s been delivering some killer serves (get it?) in the name of
Challengers and Tashi Duncan lately…so she’s our resident style icon for building your luxury athleisure closet.

    What Is Luxury Athleisure?

The ultimate goal in fashion of late is to look effortlessly sophisticated and filthy rich, without screaming that you’re trying too hard. That means an emphasis on quality and durability as well as an absence of logo and branding. Black and white color blocking is back in a big way, as are neutrals.

You must don luxury athleisure as if you’re an off-duty professional athlete. But only an athlete in an elite sport like tennis, horseback riding, or something posh like croquet.

It’s about that sweater tied over your shoulders and the wide headband pushing back your blowout. The polo shirt and the pleated skort. Tube socks and crisp whites. Getting the picture?

You see luxury athleisure outfits throughout Zendaya’s
Challengers press tour, with clean girl tennis skirt sets and bouncy ponytails. You can perfectly picture her as Tashi Duncan but also catch a glimpse of how to achieve the luxury athleisure trend yourself.

    Zendaya’s Challengers Style

    The
Barbie movie emphasized how fun it can be — and good for ratings — when the lead actress cosplays her character — Tashi Duncan — for press shoots. Margot Robbie constantly churned out Barbie look after Barbie look for every premiere, press opportunity, and awards show.

So when Zendaya followed suit and debuted Tashi Duncan-esque fits…we
knew we had a hit on our hands. Some of the style is a literal homage to the sport — tennis ball Loewe heels paired with a custom Loewe V-neck bedazzled dress…or a Thom Browne gown with racquet appliques.

But her other appearances alongside Tom Holland at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells or the Monte Carlo Masters give us insight on the ultimate Tennis-Core closet.

Many of her looks are reminiscent of the 50s and 60s fashion that’s growing ever-popular this
spring. Hoop skirts and Jackie O inspired skirt suits have been stellar on the press tour. And then there’s the power jumpsuits that are the epitome of office chic.

And it’s not just Zendaya who has leaned into Tennis Core…it’s one of
Taylor Swift’s go-to style moments. TheTortured Poets Department singer loves a good pleated skort…and she’s well known for her cardigans.

In short, Tennis-Core is a mix of Taylor Swift, Zendaya — esp. in
Challengers — and Sofia Richie’s style all-in-one. It’s about looking luxurious while being comfy. It’s to convey a highly active lifestyle that pays well. It’s to convey an air of money.

What You Need To Dress Like Tashi Duncan

So now that we want to dress — and live? — like Tashi Duncan, it’s important to emphasize elevated basics that will last you a few years. Luxury athleisure isn’t about fast fashion, it’s about high-quality, luxe materials.

If you want to embody the baller that is Tashi, here are the items you simply
    must have in your closet.

    Cable Knit Sweaters

    Zendaya BACKGRID

If there’s one staple item you need to complete the #TennisCore trend, it’s an oversized cable knit sweater. Nothing says old money quite like a collared cable knit. It’s giving “I know how to sail my father’s yacht…and I weekend in the Hamptons.”

Zendaya pairs the cable knit with a white maxi skirt…but these seriously go with anything. I like to combine the classic chunky sweater with a pair of wide-leg linen trousers.

    Try these:

    Scads of Collared Tops

    challengers styleZendayaBackgrid

While you don’t necessarily need a notch neck collar in your cable knit sweater…it’s essential for a luxe athleisure look. And luckily, a lot of athleisure brands are throwing collars on dresses, crop tops, and more.

I’m a fan of the oversized collared shirts that you can pull on at any moment.

Try these tops for a Tashi Duncan look:

    Pleated Skorts and Dresses

    Challengers styleZendaya Backgrid

If you’re a Swiftie, you know that a pleated skort is Taylor’s go-to. For someone with long legs, nothing shows them off better than a skort with some detailing.
Everyone is on the pleated skort trend lately, so you better not miss out.

Skorts also solve the problem of accidental indecent exposure that skirts pose. With comfy shorts — and often a handy pocket — underneath, you’ll never wear a real skirt again.

    Preppy Touches

This is all about accessorizing. Thick, sporty headbands are in — hello
Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf. And, yes, I think the headband is a marvelous alternative to pulling your hair back with damaging elastics or claw clips.

But the headband isn’t the be-all and end-all. Mules and Mary Jane flats have come back to add a preppy flare…what’s next? Sperry’s?

If you want a few preppy accessories, here are my picks:

    Uniqlo vs. Loewe

Let’s be honest. These two brands dominated the court in
Challengers. If it wasn’t a Loewe look, the actors were sporting Uniqlo. And the good news is that Uniqlo is super affordable.

If you need some UNIQLO moments, here are the best luxury athleisure pieces:

The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the store. During the event, which will be put on in collaboration with textile recycling nonprofit FabScrap, attendees can use fabric waste to accessorize clothing that they select from Reclectic’s inventory.

MORE: This year’s Fan Expo Philadelphia will bring notable film and game actors to Philly

Tickets for the event are available online for $50 each. Attendees will be invited to shop Reclectic’s inventory one hour before it opens to the public. Each customer will receive a small shopping bag to fill with up to five products, including one shirt and one pair of pants or skirt to use in the workshop.

Then, staff from URBN and FabScrap will assist attendees in using fabric waste patches and scraps, as well as other customization techniques, to create unique, eco-friendly clothes.

Net profits from ticket sales will be donated to FabScrap, which has made use of nearly 100,000 pounds of fabric waste — the equivalent of about 10,641 trees planted — from Philly-based URBN alone, according to the company.

Reclectic, which opened in August, carries a wide variety of new products, unsold samples created during the design process and lightly used merchandise ready for thrifting from all of URBN’s brands — including Anthropologie, Free People and Urban Outfitters. • Everyone’s Getting Rid of These 3 Designer Bags Right Now (and Buying These)

Everyone’s Getting Rid of These 3 Designer Bags Right Now (and Buying These)

    [ad_1]

It’s become a common topic of discussion in the fashion space that during periods of economic uncertainty, consumers tend to pivot their purchases toward wiser investments. That is, after all, a major contributing factor to quiet luxury’s success over the last year. And the designer handbag space is far from immune. According to luxury resale site Rebag’s Clair Report for 2023, storied houses like Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton continue to be of top priority in times like this, with their best-selling handbags continuing to hold onto resale value despite the market’s fickleness of late. “Pieces like the Hermès Constance, Chanel Deauville Tote, and Louis Neverfull [are] retaining their average [resale value by] 127%, 114%, and 136% in 2023, respectively,” says Elizabeth Layne, the Rebag’s Chief Marketing Officer.

But that’s not the case for every brand, nor every bag. And just as fast as people will invest in safe bets when the market is unpredictable, they’ll sell off those carriers in their closet that are no longer serving them sartorially (or financially). Layne knows this all too well. Thankfully, she was more than willing to share her knowledge of those specific handbag styles that people are more often getting rid of in 2024 than buying with Who What Wear. Keep scrolling to see which three designer bags she says are being resold to Rebag in bulk this year and the three that are being invested in instead. Who knows? The findings might just surprise you.
