It’s recently been reported that Alison has found herself a new man.

The 47-year-old – who hosts For the Love of Dogs – is believed to be dating Russian model David Putman.

David is believed to be 6ft 10 tall and 20 years Alison’s junior.

“Alison has never been happier. She has had a turbulent love life. But is finally confident she has found a trusted companion,” a source recently told The Sun.

Over the weekend, Alison and David reportedly enjoyed a visit to a zoo in Kent. According to body language expert Judi James, Alison appeared “openly in charge” during their day out.

“I hope Alison thoroughly enjoys herself with her good-looking new guy whether it’s a fun fling or a full-on romance. Her body language here looks happy but without any real signals of decisive commitment but she does seem to be not only upbeat in his company but also quite openly in charge as though keen to protect him, too,” she told The Mirror.

    Concern over age-gap

However, pals of Alison have been left a little concerned over the age gap between herself and David.

“She has wanted to settle down for many years now and she has had several boyfriends but none of them have worked out. Some have been a little questionable,” a source told the MailOnline.

“Those who are close to her fear that she will be taken advantage of. She has so much to give, she is now rich and pretty famous and that is a worry for her friends,” they then continued.

“Obviously alarm bells go off when there is a 20-year age gap… and there is someone involved who is rich. It is surely natural that there would be some concern.”

For the Love of Dogs star Alison Hammond moves into her ‘dream’ home

Earlier this year, Alison made a huge change by moving into a new house. The This Morning star declared that her new pad is her “dream home”.

Alison had previously lived in a four-bedroom property in Solihull. However, she has since moved elsewhere, as she showed on her Instagram story back in February.

The TV star gave fans a glimpse of her spacious garden which backs onto woodland. The garden had a patio and gazebo on it.

“Feeling very emotional knowing that without all your support and love I wouldn’t be looking at this view,” she captioned the post.

“This is my new garden I would draw as a child but never dreamed it would be a reality. Thank you. Wish Mum was here to see it,” she added.

Alison is the mother of Aidan, 19, and it looks as though he’s going to be following in his mum’s footsteps by taking the showbiz world by storm.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Aidan will be DJ’ing at his first-ever festival this summer.

Aidan will be performing at Camp Bestival at Lulworth Castle, Dorset in July. He announced the exciting news on his Instagram.

“I will be playing on Saturday 27th of July in the Bollywood tent from 7-8pm so if you like house music get your tickets and come see me play big thanks to @campbestival,” he said.

His followers were thrilled. “Omg @aidanhammond555 I love this so proud of you,” one of his followers said.

“This is awesome news! They need to get you at Shropshire next,” another wrote.

For the Love of Dogs is back this year with its new host Alison Hammond.

The late Paul O’Grady fronted every series of the much-loved ITV show since 2012. Paul’s final TV project – Paul O’Grady’s Great Elephant adventure – airs on Sunday (March 31).

Following Paul O’Grady’s death last March, there was much speculation about whether his Battersea show would return.

What’s more, a number of names were thrown into the mix from Martin Clunes to Amanda Holden to be the new host. But it was Brummie fave Alison who was confirmed as the brand new host.

But what vow has she made about the show? And which EastEnders star claimed Paul wanted her to host it instead? Keep scrolling to find out!

Alison Hammond replaces Paul O’Grady on For the Love of Dogs

When news of Alison hosting the For the Love of Dogs was revealed, she said: “I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series, But if I can continue to shine a light on the brilliant work done at Battersea and help to tell the stories of these beautiful dogs, then it will be an absolute privilege to give it my all.

“I can’t wait to share the joy of their searches for new loving forever homes. And hopefully make lots of furry friends of my own along the way!”

Alison Hammond’s ‘vow’ on For the Love of Dogs

A few weeks later in February, while hosting This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary, she was congratulated by her co-host for the new job.

After thanking Dermot for congratulating her, he stated that he was going to get Alison a dog. Admitting that it’s a “massive responsibility” to host the show, the former Big Brother contestant stated she wanted to take the job to learn more about dogs.

“I’ve always wanted a dog but you have to take it very very seriously,” she said. She also made a vow and added: “I just want to carry on that work because the charity does so much good work.”

For the Love of Dogs fans issue plea

When Alison became the new host, it sparked a mixed reaction among fans. Some were thrilled for the star while others believed Alison was the wrong choice to host For the Love of Dogs. Taking to social media, fans had a moan about the news.

“Paul will never be replaced and if it is Allison Hammond that’s me not watching,” one fan fumed.

“Julian Clary would have been perfect,” another said.

“I love this programme but not sure about Alison Hammond as host she’s not my favourite presenter not sure if I’ll watch it,” a third wrote.

Cheryl Fergison’s For the Love of Dogs claim

This year, former EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison claimed the late Paul would have given her his “blessing” to host For the Love of Dogs.

Speaking about Alison landing the role, Heather Trott star Cheryl told her fans on a TikTok live – obtained by The Sun: “You know, I can turn my hand to most things, I’m not begging for a job. I’m just telling you I am perfect for a lot of jobs but you guys are not putting me up for them, letting me go for them, and I don’t know why.”

Cheryl added: “I say good luck to Alison Hammond for For the Love of Dogs. But I’m telling you now, Paul O’Grady would’ve definitely given me his blessing to do that job, because a) I have a dog, we’ve discussed our dogs quite a lot and I’ve always had dogs in my life, and erm yeah, dogs are the best, it’s that simple.”

Following the news that she will be the new host of For the Love of Dogs, Alison Hammond has admitted it’s a big deal to follow in Paul O’Grady’s footsteps.

While hosting This Morning today (February 2) alongside Dermot O’Leary, she was congratulated by her co-host for the new job.

Alison Hammond wants to learn more about dogs

After thanking Dermot for congratulating her, he stated that he was going to get Alison a dog. Admitting that it’s a “massive responsibility” to host the show, the former Big Brother contestant stated she wanted to take the job to learn more about dogs.

“I’ve always wanted a dog but you have to take it very very seriously,” she said.

Following the news, Alison received a backlash for the job as many questioned her passion for dogs. A handful of names from Tom Hardy and Sue Perkins to Martin Clunes were popular choices from fans.

Another name that came up often was Julian Clary, who Alison said on the show got in touch with her.

While in the Maldives, Julian told Alison that he is “so happy that you got the job,” stating that Paul “thought very highly” of Alison and would “be happy” that she’s the new host.

Almost choking up, Alison said the text made her “so happy” and wants to make Paul’s legacy and Battersea proud.

She said: “I just want to carry on that work because the charity does so much good work.”

With Dermot trying to persuade Alison to adopt a dog or cat, she told him that it’s not “ideal” with her lifestyle right now. However, she isn’t ruling it out in the future.

In a statement following the announcement, Alison said: “I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series.”

She continued by saying it is “an absolute privilege to give it my all” by showing off Battersea’s “brilliant work”.

Alison Hammond 'in final talks' to host For The Love Of Dogs – and fans aren't happy

    [ad_1]

This Morning host Alison Hammond is reported to be in line to present For The Love Of Dogs after the heartbreaking death of Paul O’Grady.

Alison is said to be “in final talks” to succeed Paul on the show, which ITV have said they wish to continue to honour Paul after he died.

The documentary series set in Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is much-loved by viewers across the country. Speculation has previously been rife over who would present it now. Names such as Stephen Mulhern, Ricky Gervais and Amanda Holden were thrown into the mix.

Alison Hammond to present For The Love Of Dogs, according to reports

But now, according to The Mirror, it’s Alison who is the front runner.

A source told them: “Paul is obviously irreplaceable but they believe that not only does Alison bring some of Paul’s trademark self-deprecating humour to proceedings, but that she can also make it her own, just as Paul did.”

They continued: “Alison would be a great signing… and as her ever-expanding portfolio of shows demonstrates, capable of putting her hand to anything.”

However it seems fans are in disagreement over Alison being the perfect signing. Many have expressed their unhappiness with the news on social media. Some even said they’d certainly switch off if she was the host.

Fans vow to switch off For The Love Of Dogs over Alison Hammond

Writing on X, one said: “Lots of horrible stuff going on at the moment and this will seem silly but, and contrary to public opinion, I will be gutted if Alison Hammond takes over For the Love of Dogs from Paul O’Grady. I won’t be watching again.”

“For the love of dogs – Alison Hammond? No thanks – instant turn off,” agreed a second.

Another added: “You have got to be joking…the awful Alison Hammond is being lined up to take over from the wonderful Paul O’Grady on For The Love of Dogs. What an absolute disaster that will be. I for one will NOT be watching.”

“Not at all an appropriate person to take over this show. Sadly I will probably no longer watch it,” admitted one more.

However, some were pleased with the news, with one responding: “I for one think Alison would be awesome she is fun and seems caring also she is what a lot of ‘celebs’ seem to be trying NOT to be which is real.”

    This Morning news

It’s not all bad news for Alison, however! In December last year she was recognised for her presenting skills at the 2023 Women in Film and Television Awards.

The star, 48, bagged herself the EIKON Presenter award for her work on This Morning and Great British Bake Off.

She is also the bookies favourite to take over a permanent This Morning host. This comes after Cat Deeley reportedly turned down the role.
