  • Virginia mom praises Trump for shining ‘a light’ on daughter’s school transition case during SOTU

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The mother of a Virginia teen praised President Donald Trump for shining “a light” on her daughter’s case during his State of the Union address and vowed to continue her lawsuit against the school she accused of secretly socially transitioning her child without parental consent.

“It meant the world. It was very surreal,” Michele Blair, mother of Sage Blair, said Wednesday as she reflected on the president’s remarks.

Sage was recognized as one of Trump’s guests during his address to Congress, where he detailed her story before a national audience.

The president said Sage was 14 when school officials in Virginia “sought to socially transition her to a new gender,” treating her as a boy and allegedly hiding it from her parents.

Trump described how Sage ran away from home, was placed in an all-boys state facility after a ruling from a judge and was later returned to her family. He praised her resilience, calling her “a proud and wonderful young woman” who now has a full scholarship to Liberty University.

“I’m just so grateful that a light has been shown on this dark topic because it’s happening to so many children like Sage,” Blair told Carley Shimkus.

“They [the school] glorified the fact that… she wanted to identify as a boy, and she was being horribly bullied… Had things been different, and they called me and brought me in and told me about the bullying, I could have saved her a lifetime of nightmares,” she added.

Attorney Vernadette Broyles alleged that after running away, Sage was sex trafficked across multiple states before being recovered by law enforcement in Texas and later transferred to Maryland.

“It was a nightmare that… I don’t know if she’ll ever get beyond,” Blair told “Fox & Friends First.”

Broyles said the family’s legal battle is already underway in federal court.

“We have a Title IX claim that is pending right now in the Western District of Federal Court in Virginia on behalf of Sage herself,” she said.

She said the complaint is being amended to include a religious free exercise claim, arguing that Michele Blair’s parental rights to direct her daughter’s religious upbringing were violated.

“This is a deeply broken young woman that was kept in the system,” Broyles said.

  • Millions brace for ‘catastrophic’ ice as 18 states declare emergency amid historic winter storm

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A powerful winter storm is barreling across the United States, as federal officials warn that ice and snow pose a threat to millions of Americans.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, R-Ark, declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard. She said road crews have pre-treated roughly 90% of state highways ahead of the incoming storm.

“We’re continuing to encourage every Arkansan to stay off the roads and to really take this storm seriously,” Sanders said Saturday on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

“Mother Nature is not something you get to control, and so we’ve got to be very aware of our surroundings and what’s coming,” she later added.

A state of emergency has been declared in at least 18 states so far, including New York, Kentucky, Georgia and Texas. The 2,300-mile-long storm is expected to bring snow, freezing rain and sleet.

More than 190 million people are under some form of winter weather alert, marking the highest number of U.S. counties ever simultaneously under a Winter Storm Warning, FOX Weather reported.

“We certainly hope people can enjoy the fun parts of the snow, but also ask them to be really cautious as they’re getting out and not take unnecessary risks,” added Sanders as the first signs of the storm began to hit her state.

National Weather Service Director Ken Graham described the storm as reaching a “staggering amount of distance” and told Americans to be prepared on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

He warned that ice would likely be one of the most dangerous aspects of the storm and said, “It’s a catastrophic situation for certain areas.”

Overnight, snow and ice triggered power outages in parts of the country. Graham said that even with strong power grids, damage to local lines and falling trees could leave some neighborhoods without electricity for days.

He warned people to use their generators correctly, noting that “people lose their lives” when they’re used incorrectly. Graham’s advice to Americans was to prepare now by stocking up on food, having safe secondary heat sources and checking on elderly neighbors.

President Donald Trump said the federal government is ready to respond to the storm, even as thousands of flights have been canceled.

Alongside an alert from the National Weather Service, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I have been briefed on the Record Cold Wave and Historic Winter Storm that will be hitting much of the United States this weekend. The Trump Administration is coordinating with State and Local Officials. FEMA is fully prepared to respond. Stay Safe and Stay Warm! President DJT.”

  • United Nations ‘upset’ that Trump took ‘bold action’ to improve Venezuela, says UN Amb. Mike Waltz

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz told “Hannity” on Tuesday why he believes the UN is “so upset” about President Donald Trump’s capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.

“Over 50 countries didn’t even recognize Maduro because he stole the election. So, it’s hard to figure out what they’re so upset about,” Waltz told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

“I think we know the answer. It’s because it’s President Trump, and he’s a man of action and took real action. And now the Venezuelan people are going to be better off,” he added.

Waltz’s comments came after the UN said Tuesday the United States’ removal of Venezuela’s Maduro violates international law and makes the world less safe.

Maduro is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. — a facility notorious for housing high-profile criminals like disgraced musician Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

He pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges, including narco-terrorism.

Waltz applauded the president for taking “real action” against the South American strongman.

“The world is safer, stronger and certainly more prosperous because of it,” Waltz argued.

China, Russia and Iran are among several nations that have criticized the administration’s actions against the dictator.

But, the Trump-appointed ambassador maintained dethroning Maduro was a good choice from the commander-in-chief.

“This was the right thing to do,” said Waltz. “President Trump took bold action and will continue to swing and DOGE that ridiculous organization called the United Nations.”

Waltz also touted defunding the UN’s Human Rights Council, a move he said was made possible by the Trump administration.

“We just pushed and pressed the UN to agree to cut over 3,000 of its bureaucrats, its first budget cut in its history. So we’re DOGE-ing away,” he said.

  • Nicki Minaj’s MAGA shift seen as warning sign for Democrats ahead of midterms

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Rapper Nicki Minaj‘s MAGA turn could “spell trouble” for Democrats in next year’s midterms, highlighting a potential shift of some anti-Trump voting blocs to the right, Washington Times editor-at-large Alex Swoyer said Monday.

If someone like her [Minaj] can make this transformation, I think that speaks volumes about the type of voters that also can across the country,” Swoyer told “America Reports.”

“We saw it in 2024 with the popular vote, and I think we’ll see it again. It could spell trouble for Democrats with the midterms.”

Swoyer noted that the president’s party typically loses ground in midterm elections, but Minaj could help Republicans “expand their tent.”

Minaj made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on Sunday, teaming up with Erika Kirk for a Q&A. She previously joined forces with the Trump White House at the United Nations to address persecution against Christians in Nigeria.

“I’m honored to be here,” Minaj said after Kirk welcomed her to the stage.

She went on to praise both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, saying both are politicians who have an “uncanny” ability to relate to the American people.

Minaj’s appearance received praise from conservatives in the aftermath.

PragerU personality Xaviaer DuRousseau hailed the move as “absolutely iconic” but said he wasn’t exactly surprised to see it happen.

“I’ve watched closely over the last decade as to how the left has demonized President Trump and spread all this propaganda against him simply because he has been draining the swamp in D.C., where the same thing has been happening to Nicki Minaj,” he said Monday on “The Will Cain Show.”

“For over a decade, she has been exposing corruption, fraud, and exploitation in the entertainment space, so that’s why they try to label her as this horrible, villainous person, but really all she wants is for us to be able to protect our freedoms, prioritize faith, protect children and have a sane society once again.”

Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade suggested Monday that the warming reception Trump has received from rappers like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and now Minaj may “be the beginning of people taking a fresh look” instead of using a media filter to form their opinions.

  • Christian actor reveals pressure of playing Jesus’ most beloved disciple in Fox Nation series

Christian actor Alister Hawke knew he had “big shoes to fill” when stepping into the role of the Apostle John, Jesus’ beloved disciple whose obedience and devotion kept him at the foot of the cross with Mary until the very end.

“There’s a certain reverence when you play a character like John the Apostle,” Hawke said Sunday on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

“What creates that reverence is their obedience, their faithfulness, and their consistency to the task at hand.”

In the new season of Fox Nation’s “Jesus Crown of Thorns,” Hawke brings a deeply human portrayal to what he views as an ordinary person living in “extraordinary circumstances.”

His faith, Hawke explained, added both responsibility and perspective to the role, pushing him to approach John’s story with humility while exploring the flawed nature of the disciples who followed Christ in a time of immense uncertainty and opposition.

“I won’t lie if I say it didn’t add a sort of another layer of pressure, but in the best way possible,” he said of his faith.

“You want to do justice to these people and tell their story, and I’ve always been really passionate about exploring the context of these stories and making sure that things aren’t just taken at base value, and we can really drill into those beautiful moments and those stories, but also the contextual side of things.”

  • Legal analyst predicts Trump could win ‘considerable’ damages from BBC documentary lawsuit

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett predicted President Trump could be entitled to “considerable” damages from BBC should he move forward with a lawsuit against the outlet over an allegedly misleading edit of his Jan. 6 speech featured in a 2024 documentary.

“It’s hard to put a value on it at this early juncture, but it’s considerable,” Jarrett said Monday on “Fox & Friends.”

“Two top executives resigned in disgrace when they removed the slander,” he continued, referencing the resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC director-general Tim Davie.

“And yet the BBC still claims it wasn’t defamatory, which is absurd. They knew it was wrong.”

The outlet drew heavy backlash for a documentary examining Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, remarks before the assault on the U.S. Capitol.

“[It’s] a clear case of what I think is defamation,” Jarrett added.

“They deleted his caution to act peacefully, and then they spliced together the video to give the opposite impression, almost certainly defamatory.”

Critics like Jarrett claim the documentary was misleading because it omitted Trump urging supporters to protest “peacefully,” and stitched together remarks the president made nearly an hour apart to make it appear like one long statement.

Trump has threatened an up to $5 billion lawsuit over the ordeal.

In a previous statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesman for the president’s legal team accused the network of editing the documentary – which aired a week before the 2024 United States presidential election – “in order to try and interfere in” the outcome.

A BBC spokesperson said last Thursday that lawyers for the outlet had written to Trump’s legal team in response to a letter they had previously received, adding that BBC chair Samir Shah “separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president’s speech…”

The spokesperson said it has “no plans” to rebroadcast the documentary at the center of the controversy on any of BBC’s platforms, but added that, “While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim.”

According to Sky News, Shah pledged to combat Trump’s legal threats, writing in an email to staff, “There is a lot being written, said and speculated upon about the possibility of legal action, including potential costs or settlements.

“In all this we are, of course, acutely aware of the privilege of our funding and the need to protect our license fee payers, the British public. I want to be very clear with you – our position has not changed. There is no basis for a defamation case and we are determined to fight this.”

Turness — one of the company’s executives who resigned after the fact — also defended BBC against criticism, stressing that the outlet is “not institutionally biased” and that its journalists are “not corrupt.”

“There is no institutional bias. Mistakes are made,” she said.

  • Explosive new documentary probes ’80-year global coverup’ of UFO secrets

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

For decades, military pilots, radar operators, and ordinary citizens alike have reported strange objects darting through the skies, often dismissed by officials or buried under classification.

Despite congressional hearings and government task forces, little clarity has emerged about what Americans are actually seeing.

Now, the director of a new explosive documentary is pulling back the curtain on that mystery.

Director and producer Dan Farah sat down with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Friday to discuss his new documentary, “The Age of Disclosure.”

UFO TRACKER MAPS EERIE CLUSTERS OF UNIDENTIFIED OBJECTS LURKING BENEATH US SHORELINES: ‘WE’RE BEING LIED TO’

Director Dan Farah’s documentary ‘The Age of Disclosure’ features 34 senior U.S. officials revealing an alleged 80-year government cover-up of non-human intelligence. (The Age of Disclosure)

“For a very long time, the public, Congress, and even the President have been kept out of the loop on this subject,” Farah said. “In the last few years, senior members of Congress, senior members of the administration, thanks to whistleblowers, have found out what’s been going on, and they are now in pursuit of the truth for themselves and for the American people.”

The film explores an alleged “80-year global cover-up” of non-human intelligent life and a secret race among world powers to reverse-engineer advanced technology of non-human origin. It features interviews with 34 senior members of the U.S. government, military, and intelligence community — including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“Every single person I interviewed made it very clear that it was no longer a question of whether this was a real situation,” he said. “It’s a very real situation.”

Farah, who worked on the film for more than three years, said each person he spoke to had “direct knowledge of this issue” and “extreme credibility.”

“We’ve had repeated instances of something operating in the airspace over restricted nuclear facilities, and it’s not ours,” Rubio said in the trailer.

He said the film reveals how the U.S. government is engaged in a “high-stakes, secret Cold War race with adversarial nations like China and Russia to reverse engineer technology of non-human origin.”

“The first country that cracks the code on this technology will be the leader for years to come,” said Jay Stratton, a former Defense Intelligence Agency official and director of the government’s UAP Task Force, in the film’s trailer.

Farah said some are calling it “the Manhattan Project on steroids.”

“The fear here is that if another nation wins this race it could really change the lay of the land in terms of power,” he said.

But skepticism surrounding UAPs remains. Farah said the question now isn’t whether UAPs exist, but where they come from, who controls them and what their purpose is.

He said joking about this topic is “the equivalent of laughing at a terrorist threat.”

“Who would do that?” he said. “It makes no sense when you think about it. You know, if someone said, ‘Hey, there’s this constant terrorist threat. Terrorists are penetrating the airspace over our nuclear weapons sites.’ Who would laugh at that? It makes no sense.”

High-level officials in the film claim the issue was moved away from presidential oversight, with defense contractors “gatekeeping information.” However, Farah said members of Congress and the Trump administration are now working to uncover answers.

“Now we have leaders in Congress and in the administration that are trying to get to the bottom of it, and there are people in this film who are respected in their fields, who say they have seen these craft and have seen the recovered non-human bodies,” he said.

He said on-the-record interviews are even more important in this digital age, with many people dismissing everything they see as fake or artificial intelligence. He hopes the film will serve as the evidence many believe doesn’t exist.

“Some officials go on record claiming to have seen craft and non-human beings with their own eyes, and these are people who are putting their reputation and their names on the line,” he said.

Farah said he thinks President Donald Trump could be the first president to speak openly about this unexplained phenomenon.

“I think it’s only a matter of time at this point before we have a sitting president step to the microphone and have the biggest moment a leader can possibly have, which is telling all of humanity that we’re not alone in the universe and that the United States intends to lead the way,” Farah said.

The film will be released on Nov. 21 and will play in select theaters in New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles, and will also be available worldwide to purchase or rent on Amazon Prime Video.

  • California father says Newsom ignored pleas after migrant trucker’s crash left daughter critically injured

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A California father says Gov. Gavin Newsom has ignored his pleas for answers after an illegal immigrant truck driver caused what he says was a devastating crash that left his young daughter with life-altering injuries.

“We never did receive anything back from the governor. We never received a call back. We never received a ‘governor’s going to look into this.’ We didn’t receive anything,” Marcus Coleman told “America’s Newsroom” Thursday.

His daughter, Dalilah Coleman, was 5 years old at the time of the crash in Southern California last year. Coleman said a semi-truck failed to stop and caused a multi-vehicle pileup. Dalilah was airlifted to a children’s hospital, where she stayed more than a month, much of it in a coma.

“This is sadly another example of Gavin Newsom’s California Department of Motor Vehicles issuing an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License. How many more innocent people must become victims before Gavin Newsom stops playing games with American lives?”

A spokesperson for Newsom’s office pushed back, saying responsibility for the crash rests with the federal government, not the state.

“Our hearts go out to the Coleman family,” the office said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

They also hit back at Noem, writing:

“It’s deeply disappointing to see Secretary Noem politicize such a horrific tragedy. The FEDERAL government issued the driver a federal work permit (and RENEWED IT AFTER THE ACCIDENT), making him eligible for a driver’s license — not only in California, BUT IN ANY STATE. Madam Secretary, please stop peddling false and misleading information.”

Coleman and Krause say they want answers.

“She didn’t deserve this. She was a very sweet girl, and she still is. And you could see that light of her still shining through,” Krause said.

“But we miss who she was.”

  • Rubio answers Hamas’ reported letter to Trump, says president won’t accept partial hostage release

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the White House has yet to receive a reported Hamas letter offering a 60-day ceasefire in exchange for releasing half the remaining Gaza hostages, while noting that President Donald Trump would reject anything short of a full release of hostages.

“We haven’t seen the letter. We don’t have that letter, and even if we did, it wouldn’t matter. The president has already made clear he’s not interested in 60 days, 10 people. He wants all the hostages out, all 48, including the 20 who are alive, the 28 who are deceased,” Rubio said Tuesday on “Fox & Friends.”

“Why are we even talking about hostages? Why do we still have to talk about hostages at this point? There shouldn’t be any. They should all be released immediately. Period. That’s the president’s position.”

Rubio reiterated that President Trump would have rejected Hamas’ reported offer even if it had already reached his desk, suggesting the message was perhaps given to the media rather than the administration.

Per prior reporting, a senior Trump official and a second source directly involved in negotiations told Fox News Hamas had drafted the letter to be delivered to Trump sometime this week.

This comes after the president said he wanted the remaining hostages to be freed “now – right now,” during his U.K. visit last week.

Trump also issued what he called his “last warning” to Hamas in a Truth Social post earlier this month, writing on Sept. 7, “Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!”

Rubio elaborated on what lies ahead for Hamas if the group fails to surrender, warning that Israeli forces are “right at the doorstep of Gaza City,” where Hamas leaders are currently concentrated, and have “begun an operation to go in.”

“It may take a while, but they’re [Hamas officials are] not going to survive the Israeli push,” he warned.

“What we would hope to see is that it doesn’t have to happen, because Hamas surrenders, they lay down their arms, they release all the hostages. And then the important work of rebuilding Gaza and providing a place where Palestinians can live prosperously and peacefully, that work can begin. But that work cannot begin until the hostages are released and Hamas no longer exists.

“The sooner that happens, the sooner peace will begin.”

  • Operation Midway Blitz commander rebuts Pritzker’s ‘crazy rhetoric,’ warns it could lead to violence

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker accused Operation Midway Blitz Commander Gregory Bovino of targeting minorities, saying federal authorities had “acted violently against people” and detained those “who have Brown skin or who speak with an accent.”

Bovino fired back, forcefully denying the claims on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday.

“When you have this crazy rhetoric by folks like that governor or some of the other elected representatives that we’ve seen, all that does is lead to violence against our law enforcement officers and agents,” Bovino said on “Fox & Friends.”

“What we tell our agents is, we’re legal, ethical, and moral in our operations every day, but we are going after those criminal illegal aliens with a vengeance.”

The Department of Homeland Security recently ramped up its blitz of Chicagoland with Bovino’s help, adding to the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations enacted in other major U.S. cities like Los Angeles and New York City.

The operation has triggered immediate pushback from Democratic officials like Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who have both persistently opposed federal crackdowns led by the administration.

Bovino shot down the idea that agents are targeting people on the basis of accents or skin color, telling Brian Kilmeade they are looking for individuals who “violated our immigration laws” and “vile criminals that harm thousands of American citizens each year.”

“Perhaps the governor would do well to realize that we’re actually ridding his city and his state of these criminals,” he said.

“It has nothing to do with skin color, speech, or anything else. It’s immigration laws.”

Bovino also touted the operation’s “great success,” pointing to “several hundred” arrests thus far.

  • Charlie Kirk’s friend urges mourners to ‘go back to church’ following activist’s killing

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Worldwide vigils have taken place following the killing of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. His close friend Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show” podcast, is urging mourners to remember him as he believes Kirk would have wanted.

“I want Charlie to be remembered for his great faith because that’s how he wanted to be remembered, for his courage and his faith,” Kolvet said Sunday on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday on a Utah college campus. He leaves behind his wife Erika and two young children.

Much of his work focused on reviving what he saw as the traditional American family, a mission rooted in his Christian faith

Kolvet urged supporters to channel their grief into that same commitment.

“If you [want to] honor Charlie today, it is Sunday… go back to church, open your Bible, pray, ask God to lead you. That’s what he wanted,” he said.

Vigils for Kirk have sprung up across the country, including at Turning Point USA campus chapters, on Capitol Hill, and even overseas. Demonstrators at a previously scheduled march in London carried pictures and banners of Kirk.

Turning Point USA announced it will hold a public memorial for Kirk next weekend at the Arizona Cardinals’ stadium. The venue can host over 70,000 people.

Kolvet said the worldwide response since Kirk’s death reflects his message’s authenticity.

“The reason he resonated, I believe, so widely and so broadly across the world… is because he himself was good. A message sown across the world out of a place of integrity and honesty and decency,” said Kolvet.

“You can’t emulate that. You can fake that. And it comes through. People can see just how straightforward and honest and good he was.”

Kolvet said the peaceful nature of the memorials have been especially meaningful to Kirk’s family, staff, and friends.

“The people that loved him most, they’re not rioting. They’re not burning down cities or businesses. They are praying, they’re lighting candles in his honor, and they’re expressing the grief that they feel, that we all feel, in their own way,” he said.

  • Pirro tears into Pritzker after deadly weekend in Chicago: ‘He should be ashamed of himself’

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Jeanine Pirro, U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, criticized Democratic leaders for opposing the Trump administration’s crime crackdown in Washington, D.C. and for resisting the possibility of expanding similar efforts to other cities in the country.

Pirro singled out Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker after Chicago experienced one of its most violent weekends of the year.

“This guy Pritzker, he should be ashamed of himself,” Pirro said on “America Reports,” referring to the staggering number of shootings and fatalities. “It is a rejection of your oath to protect the people.”

Over Labor Day weekend, at least 58 people were shot in Chicago, eight of them fatally. President Donald Trump has floated the idea of deploying the National Guard to help curb violence in the Windy City, as his administration has already done in the nation’s capital.

But Democratic officials in Illinois strongly oppose federal involvement. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have both rejected Trump’s proposal. In an interview with CBS, the governor suggested the administration’s motives may go beyond crime control, calling the potential deployment of National Guard troops in the city “an invasion.”

“They should understand that he has other aims other than fighting crime. That’s the first thing they should understand,” Pritzker told CBS’s Ed O’Keefe.

“The second is it is an attack on the American people by the president of the United States.”

TRUMP SAYS ‘INCOMPETENT’ ILLINOIS GOVERNOR, ‘NO BETTER’ CHICAGO MAYOR SHOULD CALL HIM FOR HELP WITH CRIME

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., voiced similar concerns, calling the crackdown “performative political actions.”

Pirro strongly rejected those arguments, claiming the crackdown has already delivered results in Washington, D.C.

“Who is entitled to say, crime is low enough and let’s not bother?” she asked.

“Who among us is willing to say I’m willing to have my child shot tonight in Chicago or next weekend?”

PIRRO CALLS OUT DC LAWS LETTING ‘YOUNG PUNKS’ OFF THE HOOK FOR VIOLENT CRIMES

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who had initially pushed back against the deployment, has since acknowledged the improvements brought to her city since the National Guard’s arrival.

In late August, Bowser said the city saw an 87% drop in carjackings over a 20-day span compared with the same period last year.

“We know that when carjackings go down, when use of guns goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighborhoods feel safer and are safer. So, this surge has been important to us for that reason,” she said during a press conference.

Pirro has argued that Democratic leaders are resisting assistance and federal involvement simply because it comes from the White House.

“The truth is that these people are about ideology and power,” she said.

“They should sit with the families of homicide victims. They should talk to the mothers who don’t know if their sons are coming home tonight because of the gunfire that is pervasive.”

“Only President Trump is the one who’s willing to put the resources, the energy, and yes, he has the determination to make this work. And it is working.”

  • Zohran Mamdani’s policies ‘won’t work’ in New York, Andrew Cuomo argues

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Independent New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo on Friday blasted his Democratic socialist opponent Zohran Mamdani’s “anti-business, anti-corporate” positions on “The Story.”

“[Mamdani’s] positions just will not work in New York,” Cuomo told Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum. “If there’s one city where you can’t have a socialist mayor, it’s New York City.”

CUOMO TURNS TABLES ON MAMDANI AFTER HE DODGED QUESTION ADDRESSING ‘DESTRUCTIVE’ POLICY

The former Democratic governor’s comments come as Mamdani leads the city’s mayoral race by nearly 20 points, at 44%, according to a Siena College Poll. Cuomo currently sits as the runner-up over Mamdani’s other opponents at 25%.

Cuomo gave no indication of whether he would drop out of the race, while New York City Mayor Eric Adams criticized him for putting “dangerous laws on the books that hurt us, from cannabis to bail reform to 15,000 nursing home deaths.”

Instead, Cuomo predicted Mamdani’s appeal is going to “drop dramatically.”

“I don’t think the public even knows who the assemblyman is, what he represents, what his positions are,” Cuomo argued. “So I think the more they find out about him, the less they’re going to like him, and his appeal is going to drop dramatically.”

Cuomo went on to outline what makes him “more competitive” with Republicans and Independents amid what he calls an “internal debate” in the Democratic Party.

“You can’t have an anti-business, anti-corporate mayor of New York City. We’re nothing without business and corporations, et cetera. It’s why people came here. It’s what made New York New York,” Cuomo said.

He continued, “I believe in law and order. Zohran is anti-police. I believe in capitalism; Zohran is a socialist, and I think that will make me more competitive with the Republicans and Independents.

When MacCallum asked Cuomo if he is “hoping for President Donald Trump’s support, either overtly or behind the scenes,” Cuomo gave a resounding response.

Yeah, no, absolutely not,” Cuomo replied. “I take President Trump at his word that he won’t get involved.

Cuomo disclosed that the last time he spoke or left a message to the president was July 2024, when Trump was almost assassinated in Butler, Pa, to “wish him well, and [send] regards to his family.”

The two politicians notoriously butted heads over lockdown policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Cuomo accused of causing significant numbers of deaths in nursing homes by admitting COVID-positive patients without requiring testing.

The Justice Department is currently investigating whether Cuomo misled Congress about his role in allegedly downplaying the number of fatalities and shifting blame to infected nursing home staff.
