  • Bella Hadid Just Ditched Baggy Jeans For This Skinny-Adjacent Style

Bella Hadid Just Ditched Baggy Jeans For This Skinny-Adjacent Style

    [ad_1]

Bella Hadid is back in NYC after many months away. And as someone whose style is always evolving, it’s to be expected that there’d be some new observations to make about her wardrobe. In keeping with the trends for several seasons now, Hadid had embraced baggier silhouettes before taking some time off away from the public eye. This included her jeans of choice, which were often loose and low-rise. But things have shifted, at least for a day.

While out in the city during the day this week, Hadid wore a pair of jeans that were basically the opposite of her previous loose and low ones. The high-waisted pair she chose weren’t quite skinny jeans, as they weren’t super tight around the ankles, but they could best be described as slim-leg jeans. Slim-leg jeans fall somewhere between straight-leg and skinny jeans on the slimness meter, and they’re a great choice if you prefer something polished, timeless, and versatile.

If you love Hadid’s new jeans, scroll on to shop similar pairs for yourself.

I've Been Preparing All Year For This Nordstrom Sale—23 Finds I Can't *Not* Buy

    [ad_1]

Because of my job, I pretty much have the sale schedules of every retailer memorized. In other words, I’ve known about Nordstrom’s current sale for a long time—pretty much all year—and have been mentally, emotionally, and physically preparing for it ever since. Think I’m kidding? I won’t bore you with the receipts, but trust me, I’ve never been more ready to dig up the best finds from Nordstrom’s 30,000-plus women’s sale items than I am today. You should see my workstation. It includes three screens, four liquids, and the *perfect* playlist for peak concentration.

Enough about the preparation though. You and I both know that what you’re really here for is a list of irresistible fashion items that would’ve cost you infinitely more just a short while ago. I’ve got that handled too. Scroll down for 23 items that even someone who’s meticulously scrolled through every sale in 2023 is incapable of resisting. They’re that good.

  • The $160 Uggs I'm Buying to Mimic Kelly Rutherford's Viral Winter Outfits

The $160 Uggs I'm Buying to Mimic Kelly Rutherford's Viral Winter Outfits

    [ad_1]

Apparently, I’m not the only one who’s recently become a super fan. “Out of all the original Gossip Girl cast members, I don’t know why I didn’t think to follow Kelly more closely,” Brooklyn-based freelance fashion editor Cortne Bonilla explains over DM. “A few weeks ago, I came across her Instagram profile after one of my favorites brands, By Malene Birger, reposted an ensemble of hers,” she continues. “In the age of mass girlhood, it’s so refreshing to see a woman of a certain age embracing personal style, experimentation, and emerging brands.” For her, it’s Rutherford’s very personal sense of style that drew her in. “Kelly doesn’t dress for a trend or age, she dresses for herself—you can tell by her mixture of the old and the new, the classic and the experimental.”

On her feed, one will find a mix of just-released outerwear from the aforementioned Danish brand that fashion girls regularly obsess over to casual yet luxe knitwear. Most of her looks are colored in a palette of quiet-luxury neutrals, from camel to ivory, with touches of navy, black, and brown for good measure. Every article of clothing is glamorous yet nonchalant, making each of the actress’s outfits more than worth copying.

  • Kendall and Hailey Wore the Classic Sweater Trend Everyone's Buying From J.Crew

Kendall and Hailey Wore the Classic Sweater Trend Everyone's Buying From J.Crew

    [ad_1]

Now that we’re deep into December and have been wearing knitwear for at least a month now, it’s become clear what the emerging sweater trends are. Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber certainly agree on one in particular. That trend is Fair Isle sweaters. Jenner wore the classic après-ski style earlier this week in Aspen, and Bieber wore it upon her return to Los Angeles. Both of them wore Fair Isle sweaters by Khaite, who can largely be credited (along with Celine) for the returning popularity of the style this season.

Multicolored Fair Isle knitwear actually dates back to the early 19th century on an island near Scotland, when it was made for fisherman’s sweaters. Today, brands from low to high-end embrace the design each winter, but it’s become especially ubiquitous this season. One place I’ve come across multiple excellent examples of the trend is J.Crew, where its Fair Isle sweaters keep selling out. (Trust me—I’m on J.Crew.com a lot.) Scroll on to shop those along with Jenner’s and Bieber’s Khaite crew-neck and cardigan.

  • The Jewelry Pieces to Invest In, According to Expert Will Kahn

The Jewelry Pieces to Invest In, According to Expert Will Kahn

    [ad_1]

Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. I know—because I’m nosy and also have known you for a long time—that you started at W Magazine in the accessories department, but I have no idea how you ended up there. Talk to me a little bit about those days.

Not to cite other podcasts on a podcast, but when I was kind of thinking about how I got to where I got. It reminded me of that question on Las Culturistas: What moment in the culture led you to realize that culture is for you? My moment was LC [Lauren Conrad] walking into the doors of Teen Vogue in the L.A. office. From that moment on, I was like, “This is what I got to do.” I don’t know why. It didn’t look particularly fun. Well, it kind of did. At the time, it seemed glamorous and it was just like, “This is what I have to do. I don’t really understand it. I don’t know what they’re doing, but this is what I’m going to do.”

Reading The Devil Wears Prada also in that time period, I was like, “I need to be that. I have to be rolling a rack of jeans somewhere in a glamorous office while wearing tight pants. That is what I need to do.” That is kind of a very superficial way of how I got to where I am in that I just was mesmerized by that world and I had to be a part of it. I didn’t really understand it, but I had to be a part of it. I just really aggressively went after internships, because I just was like, “I guess that’s how you do this. I’m going to be an intern like LC.” You had to work your way up, because Teen Vogue was not going to have me immediately. My first internship was at Life & Style Weekly

  • Fashion People Think This Sweater Style Is Elite

Fashion People Think This Sweater Style Is Elite

    [ad_1]

Sweater weather is something I spend half of the year looking forward to and the other half embracing. But what about the humble cardigan? I have a theory: Winter comes and goes, but cardigans don’t have a particular season. Excluding the sartorial necessities of extremely hot or cold days, a cardigan is a versatile piece you should always have on hand. I always have one draped over my office chair and never forget to stow one in my carry-on with a water bottle and a good book—they have that much staying power, regardless of color, material, or style.

One of my favorite types is the collared cardigan, a versatile and timeless iteration that comes in a number of styles, from zip-up and button-down to fitted and loose. Some of my most coveted collared cardigans have pointed collars, while others have dainty Peter Pan collars. Suffice to say: The options are endless. To help you narrow down your options, I curated a list of my favorites.

Reformation's Best-Selling Dresses Are on Sale RN—Here's What to Prioritize

    [ad_1]

Sale shopping usually goes one of two ways: You buy something you’ve had your eyes on all season for a bit less, or you score a special piece for the future at a major discount. Right now, at Reformation, either is possible since many of the brand’s top-selling dresses of the year are marked down anywhere from $50 to 100 off the original price.

So what’s the best way to approach such a broad opportunity to add to your wardrobe? Consider the events or special occasions that are coming up in the next month and throughout the next year. Whether it’s standing out in style at a holiday party or planning for the upcoming wedding season (both brides and bridesmaids), there is at least one item you won’t be able to resist placing into your shopping cart.

But like most good things, this sale and Reformation’s sustainably minded inventory won’t last forever. Keep scrolling for 21 dresses to prioritize—as in check out ASAP—while you still can.

  • My 3-Piece Capsule Collection: Boot Edition

My 3-Piece Capsule Collection: Boot Edition

    [ad_1]

The only thing better than transitioning to sweater weather is when it’s finally time to change shoes, swapping out sandals and sneakers for boots. One or two pairs could suffice, especially if you don’t live in a place where snow is a concern. But in my experience, it takes at least three styles of boots to get through winter and fall in style.

Chelsea boots top the list as an essential wardrobe staple because they go with everything, are easy to walk in, and look totally timeless. Invest in a well-made pair, and keep them looking pristine with shoe polish, waterproofing, and regular sole maintenance, and they’ll last for seasons to come.

Next are flat, lace-up ankle boots. These run the gamut from sturdy snow shoes to cool combat boots and can be found in an array of materials from leather to nylon. Opt for a chunky sole, or look for a combat-boot style with buckles and embellishments. It’s a subtle statement shoe no matter how you wear it.

Finally, the prettiest boots in our closets are often knee-high heeled boots. They’re not always practical but are guaranteed to take any outfit to the next level. Choose a stacked heel for maximum comfort, or try out a short heel in stunning suede to wear with a mini or midi skirt. And don’t forget boot inserts or hangers to help the tall shaft keep its shape while in storage.

Ready to complete your capsule wardrobe with a new pair just in time for the holidays? We’ve pulled several versions of each style that demonstrate the versatility within each category. The only hard part is choosing which new boots to break in first.

How Brit Marling Has Become an Absolute Entertainment Powerhouse

In the world of entertainment, Brit Marling is the ultimate multi-hyphenate. A director, showrunner, writer, and actor, Marling has versatile talents that have left an indelible mark on the industry. It all began in 2011 when she made her foray into the industry with films Another Earth and Sound of My Voice, which premiered side by side at the Sundance Film Festival, catching the attention of both critics and audiences. The films not only garnered nominations for Independent Spirit Awards but also secured distribution deals with Fox Searchlight.

Marling’s career continued to skyrocket as she went on to create and star in hits like The East and The OA. Her unique storytelling abilities and captivating on-screen presence set her apart in a competitive industry. However, Marling has proven herself to be a constant innovator, always pushing the boundaries of her career. Gomez chose to release a line of bodycare as an opportunity to showcase how important self-care is. “When you’re taking care of your body, mind, and soul, it’s all one,” Gomez said. “When you do take time to enjoy yourself and to find your little pockets and moments of peace, that’s something you should always be proud of.”

Find Comfort features four brand-new products: a body lotion, an aromatherapy pen, a fragrance mist, and a hand cream. Each product is packaged in purposefully made mauve vessels. The One Shoe Trend Olivia Rodrigo and Selena Gomez Can't Stop Wearing RN

    [ad_1]

When looking for outfit inspiration this year, two names always come to mind: Olivia Rodrigo and Selena Gomez. The singers each have their unique style, but in addition to excellent voices, they also have superb taste in fashion. So, when we spotted both wearing a pair of black high-heeled Mary Janes in the same week, you can bet it caught our attention.

Mary Janes have been around since the 1900s, and it’s safe to say they’ve evolved quite a bit over the past century. Today, stiletto or stacked heel styles can be found just as often as the original flat version of the shoe. From affordable $50 pairs to pricier designer takes on the trend, there’s a Mary Jane out there to suit just about any outfit.

But, let’s keep it simple: taking a cue from Gomez and Rodrigo, we’ve pulled 14 of the prettiest black high-heeled Mary Janes available to shop now. Suede, satin, and patent leather prevail, with heels coming in a variety of heights and shapes. Not all Mary Janes look the same—and that’s a good thing—so keep scrolling to find the pair that speaks to you, and get ready to strap ’em on for the holidays.

Leighton Meester Just Proved This Trend Will *Not* Be Expiring in 2024

    [ad_1]

This time of year, everyone is offering their predictions about 2024 fashion trends. My fellow Who What Wear colleagues, for instance, have weighed in with their own opinions on what will and won’t make it to the New Year. Everything is certainly subjective, but I have a strong feeling that Leighton Meester’s newest look just proved that one trend, in particular, has major staying power: rosettes.

Photographed on the red carpet at a holiday party for Freevee and Amazon Prime, Meester wore Silvia Tcherassi’s Daniela Gown ($1020), complete with a stunning 3-D floral appliqué front and center. We’ve been talking about the rosette trend all year long—remember Zendaya’s rose-festooned dress at the SAG Awards back in February? Meester’s fantastic interpretation of the trend just proved that rosettes will not be expiring in 2024. Scroll down to see her new look and shop the trend for yourself.

Kendall Jenner Wore the #1 Coat Trend for 2024 Twice in One Week

    [ad_1]

Not just once, but twice in a single week, Kendall Jenner has been spotted wearing outerwear with cape-like details. Last week, during a shopping trip in West Hollywood, she wore a leather jacket with an attachable scarf from Phoebe Philo, styled with white jeans, a boxy bag, and kitten heels. Just a few days later, Jenner wore a wrapped leather trench coat that debuted on the Bottega Veneta S/S 24 runway with sheer tights and pumps. Other fashion insiders and celebs, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, have been spotted wearing the silhouette—solidifying it as a key outerwear trend to know for 2024.

Over the last few years, we have seen the rise of blanket coats with built-in scarves from brands including Toteme and Tove. The more heavily-draped, cape-like versions endorsed by Bottega Veneta and Phoebe Philo are pushing the trend forward and we’re already expecting it to be the #1 coat trend in 2024. Ahead, see how celebs are wearing the cape outerwear trend and shop pieces inspired by them.

Even as someone who owns tons of beauty products (hundreds?! thousands?!) I still buy certain necessities on a weekly or monthly basis. Especially, if I’m traveling or visiting my family back home in Minnesota. Ulta is usually my destination of choice because A) it has more selection than drugstores (and I like that it carries prestige lines, as well), and B) it’s typically easier to find an Ulta than it is a Sephora or Nordstrom. (Not to mention, I don’t love having to go into a mall, and usually, I don’t have to if I’m going to an Ulta.)
