  • Sophie Turner Went Pants-Less in a Blazer and Tights and Pulled It Off With Ease

Sophie Turner Went Pants-Less in a Blazer and Tights and Pulled It Off With Ease

    [ad_1]

Sophie Turner must get tired of people telling her that “winter is coming,” but when she wears an outfit like this, can you really blame us? Sophie, winter is here, where are your pants?

All Game of Thrones jokes aside, we’re into this savvy style statement. The actress and mother of two showed off her long legs in a gorgeous Ganni blazer paired with sheer black tights and the most perfect pointy-toe pumps. Given that she shared the photo on Instagram on January first, we have a feeling this was what she wore to ring in the New Year, and she certainly did so in style.

Upon closer inspection, the waist-defining button closure helps to make this garment look more like a dress with lapels, but trust us: it’s a jacket that could just as easily be worn with pants. But that doesn’t mean pants are required (although perhaps strongly suggested if you live somewhere it is currently snowing).

If you’re into the pants-less look, it’s actually quite simple to pull off. Just pair a slightly oversize blazer in a dark hue with matching tights (except nude), and coordinating heels. The entire outfit is probably already in your closet, but just in case, we’ve pulled a few pieces—including the Ganni blazer—that pair perfectly well together as a trio so you can save the pants for a snowy day.

  • These New $65 H&M Ballet Flats Are as Chic as the $950 Designer Pair I Want

These New $65 H&M Ballet Flats Are as Chic as the $950 Designer Pair I Want

    [ad_1]

If you’re like me, I’m sure you agree that the best shoe trends are flat shoe trends. They’re certainly the ones I wear the most, as someone who lives in the South and works from home full time. As you can imagine, the fact that one of the biggest shoe trends of the season is a flat one is very exciting to me, and that trend is ballet flats.

I quickly jumped on the satin Miu Miu Ballerinas trend a few months ago and now I can’t stop thinking of a Prada pair that came out before the holidays (and is now almost sold out). They’re made of soft Nappa leather and they feature everyone’s favorite triangle logo nestled on an otherwise classic ballet flat. They’re $950 worth of perfection.

I know—$950 is a lot of money no matter how you look at it, and since my size in the Prada pair is sold out anyway, you can imagine my excitement when I came across another classic pair of ballet flats on H&M today. Like the Prada pair, they’re made of soft, flexible leather and have a delicate bow. The Prada triangle may be absent but they sure do look expensive for $65.

I have a hunch that these will be one of those H&M items that sell out quickly, so keep scrolling to shop the flats before they do, along with some of my other favorite affordable ballet flats.

J.Crew Casually Put a Ton Of Its New Arrivals On Sale—I’m Buying These 29 First

    [ad_1]

As a fashion editor who spends most of her time, both during the work day and long after it, scouring online stores for the next It thing, there are two specific things that get me really excited: sales and new arrivals. Sadly, I almost never get them in conjunction. That isn’t the case today, though, thanks to J.Crew’s current “SHOPNOW” code, which has much of the brand’s newest items marked down by 30%.

Since this happens so rarely, when I spotted the sale marker on J.Crew’s website, I knew right away that I had to first, shop the selection myself, and second, make it easy for all of you to do the same. After all, who can resist a sale that includes penny loafers, cable-knit sweaters, chic outerwear, and yes, cashmere, all of which is seasonally appropriate right now and 30% off? That’s right—no one. Scroll down to shop my favorite items from J.Crew’s sale on new arrivals (and more).

  • For Sophia Brown, The Witcher: Blood Origin Came at the Perfect Time

For Sophia Brown, The Witcher: Blood Origin Came at the Perfect Time

    [ad_1]

Scían is played by Michelle Yeoh, who is having such a moment right now. What was it like working with her?

We were talking about projects she had done before. I think we were talking about clothing, and in the conversation, she was like, “I was shooting this film, and we had to do part of it on green screen,” and I was like, “Oh, what was the film?” She was like, “It’s this film that has hot-dog fingers.” In my mind, I was like, “Hot-dog fingers? Okay, what B movie is this?” I only clocked it when I went to see Everything Everywhere All at Once, and when I saw the hot-dog fingers, I gasped! I messaged her (I call her Mama Michelle), and I said, “Mama Michelle, you just inspired me again. I can’t believe it.” I already knew beforehand when she was cast what an honor and privilege it was to be able to witness her work and to work with her. Then to be able to actually go through that process and learn so much from her personally and professionally, it’s just cool. And to see her now getting her flowers, I’m just like, “Wow, what an amazing position to be able to witness someone who I now regard as a friend … get her moment at her age.” It’s just incredible. I love it.

Up next, you have the Russell T Davies limited series You & Me. It’s a contemporary love story that focuses on three different characters. Can you tell me about your character Jess and what intrigued you about the project?

Immediately after doing The Witcher: Blood Origin, I wanted something that was quite simple and delicate. It was a much smaller world, and you get a little insight into these two people, and it came at the perfect time. [My character] Jess, we find her in a place where she is trying to figure out what to do in London. She has a strong sense of self, but she doesn’t know what she wants to do. And she meets Ben, a person who changes the course of her life. We get to witness little moments of their relationship growing and where they go. I was drawn to it because I haven’t seen many stories in London trying to capture that pocket of life where you are out of university, and you don’t really know what you want to do, and you’ve got some sort of qualifications, but you are broke, and you are living in this capital city that has everything on offer, but it doesn’t seem on offer to you, which I think that happens for a lot of people. And you maybe meet somebody, and you nestle in together, and they become your person, and they become closer to you than your family, and you create this little pocket of your own world, and you become obsessed with it. I really got that from the script when I first read it, and I really wanted to be that person that created that pocket of the world.

In terms of fashion and beauty, you seem to be someone who has a lot of fun mixing up your look.

I love fashion. I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m somebody who knows all the designers, but it’s an extension of my creativity, from my nail color right down to my socks. However I’m feeling on a day, I like to wear that and let that be an extension of my mood. That’s what has been so much fun as well. Doing these projects and press for them, I’ve been able to play around with my identity in so many different ways. I’m being introduced to different designers from either stylists or looking ideas up for character costumes or stuff like that. So yeah, I definitely love fashion. It’s a thread within my artistry.

The Witcher: Blood Origin is now streaming on Netflix.

  • Everyone Is Wearing This Shoe Style With Leggings Again

Everyone Is Wearing This Shoe Style With Leggings Again

    [ad_1]

In recent years, it was typical to see leggings paired with sneakers or a pair of slide sandals from time to time, but that’s about it. This winter, celebrities have been wearing them outside of the gym a lot more than usual, even dressing them up with chic outerwear and jewelry. And the particular shoe style that’s most often worn with jeans this time of year? Ankle boots.

Yes, you read correctly—leather ankle boots (and not just Uggs) have made their way back into celebrities’ legging outfits, many of which have heels. We’ll admit that they look very, very chic. Take Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for example, in her long vest, athletic leggings, and black suede ankle boots this week. She clearly was not going to pilates.

Want to see more proof? Scroll for the celeb-approved legging-and–ankle-boot outfits that may encourage you to follow suit (and shop stylish leggings and ankle boots, of course).

Princess Diana’s Fave Ski Jacket Is Still Elite, so I Found a $75 H&M Version

    [ad_1]

Whether or not hitting the ski slopes is in your future, winter temperatures are here for at least a few more months. And aside from the pros, no one did sporty fashion (before athleisure was a thing) better than Princess Diana.

Although she was endlessly photographed in everything from ball gowns to bikinis, it is Diana’s leisure looks that continue to inspire our off-duty style decades later. Case in point: her red puffer jacket. It was simple yet statement-making (you couldn’t miss her on the mountain), and we love this piece not only for its place in one of the world’s most iconic wardrobes but also because it is the epitome of both practical and chic

While Princess Diana’s red ski jacket was likely of the more technical variety—she wore it to exercise, after all—we’ve found 11 similar styles that will suit any winter-weather leisure look from Aspen to the Alps, including a nearly identical $75 option from H&M. Keep scrolling to find your perfect red puffer to wear all winter; no ski boots required.

On the other end of the spectrum, I also included some luxe designer buys in case you want to splurge a bit this year. I’m talking about a faux-fur jacket from the Scandinavian brand Stand Studio, hot-pink boots by Proenza Schouler, and more. Katie Holmes Traded Jeans for This Underrated Winter Pant Style

    [ad_1]

Katie Holmes is one of those celebrities I always look to for accessible, chic outfit ideas, as she’s photographed trekking around NYC on pretty much a weekly basis. Most time, those outfits include jeans and some sort of comfortable shoes and chic outerwear. But her most recent outfit got a wintery update and I thought I’d share it because it’s cold, people. Any guesses?

Wearing corduroy pants in the winter isn’t exactly ground-breaking, but they’re still worthy of being reminded of from time to time. I think they deserve a permanent spot in a winter basics wardrobe, as you can pretty much wear them with anything you wear with jeans. But they’ll keep you even warmer and they’ll add a chic retro twist to your winter outfits.

I don’t know about you but now I’m in the mood to shop for some corduroy pants so I found some chic options. Scroll to join me.

Ashley Olsen Reportedly Got Married In a Top-Secret Ceremony—Here’s What We Know

    [ad_1]

Normally, we’d be a touch bummed if a celebrity we love got married on the down low, but since the current bride in question is Ashley Olsen, the low-key quality of her supposed wedding last week is right on par with our expectations for the actor-turned-designer. According to Page Six, Olsen and her longtime boyfriend, artist Louis Eisner, wed in an intimate ceremony on December 28 at a private home in Bel-Air, California.

In line with the couple’s relationship as a whole, the entire affair was reportedly a private one, with the publication stating that there were only a few dozen people in attendance, though that didn’t stop the celebration from lasting well into the night: “It went late with 50 people or so total,” a source told Page Six.

Unfortunately, if their wedding was anything like Ashley’s twin sister and business partner Mary Kate’s back in 2015, photos from the ceremony are likely to remain unseen. Our best guess? The bride wore The Row. In lieu of wedding photos, scroll down to see a few rare shots of the couple and find out all we know about their relationship.

Kendall and Hailey Just Made Wearing This Unexpected Item With Leggings a Thing

    [ad_1]

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber spend a lot of time attending workout classes. Therefore, they spend a lot of time in leggings. And as you’ve probably noticed, their innate stylishness doesn’t stop at the hot pilates door. It carries over into everything they do, so it’s worth paying attention to their looks—even when they’re going to a pilates class.

Given that leggings are such a staple in the wardrobes of Bieber and Jenner, you can always count on them to come up with new ways to style them. It’s even better when they style them very similarly for the same outing (guess they’re on the same wavelength). This finally brings me to my point: This week, the duo both styled their leggings with leather jackets. Bieber wore her flared ones with a black leather trench and Jenner wore her basic black ones with a brown leather bomber jacket. They went out to lunch after their class, which proves that pairing your workout outfit with a sleek leather jacket makes it instantly appropriate for going somewhere that doesn’t involve sweating.

Mango’s New Arrivals Are Dangerously Chic—26 I’m Spending My January Paycheck On

    [ad_1]

For most of November and December, every time I checked up on my favorite brands’ websites, all I saw were last-season sale items that I’d become overstimulated by or bought full-price months prior, or were entirely sold out besides maybe one or two sizes. So, when January hit and brought with it all of the new-year arrivals, you bet I was quick to jump on my computer and start scrolling. First stop was Mango

It took me about a minute to realize that I wanted everything, from the perfectly distressed, Miu Miu–esque motorcycle boots (that are sadly selling out faster than Ugg’s Classic Ultra Mini Platforms after they were spotted on Elsa Hosk during NYFW) to the metallic accessories, ranging from shopper bags to skinny belts. And those are just my highlights. Ahead, shop all of the can’t-miss new items at Mango that I’ve spent the whole of 2023 thinking about.

  • Hailey Bieber Is Responsible for the Return of This Controversial Legging Trend

Hailey Bieber Is Responsible for the Return of This Controversial Legging Trend

    [ad_1]

When fashion items are deemed “out,” they fall into one of two categories. Either they’ve simply hit their peak for the time being and are expected to return to grace in the future, or they’re so hated by then that we collectively promise never to wear them again. Leather leggings, similar to extra-low-rise jeans and whale tails, fell into the latter group. But just like its neighbors on the list, the controversial legging style is unexpectedly back. For proof, see Hailey Bieber.

During her and Kylie Jenner’s holiday trip to Aspen for New Year’s Eve, the model and Rhode founder was spotted downtown wearing an all-black après-ski outfit consisting of an oversize, belted Saint Laurent coat, sunglasses, and a Le 5 À 7 shoulder bag as well as Loewe leather puffer boots and matching leggings—leather leggings just like the ones she used to wear on repeat back in the late 2010s. Oddly enough, this time around, her choice of skintight bottoms didn’t result in the ick like it would have even just a few months ago. Instead, I get the feeling that leather leggings will be back to reigning in the fashion world in no time now that they have Bieber’s stamp of approval.

Olympian Allyson Felix on Life Beyond the Track

    [ad_1]

Perhaps one of the most celebrated female athletes, 11-time Olympic medalist Allyson Felix has made quite a name for herself on the track. At the age of 18, Felix won her first Olympic medal in Athens and later won what would be her last during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she won bronze and gold. Then, in the summer of 2022, Felix officially retired from her competitive running career with incredibly impressive, groundbreaking records, holding a total of thirty global medals — further cementing her place as one of the most beloved track and field Olympians of this generation.

As no surprise, Felix’s success off the track is just as remarkable. After contending with an inequitable sponsorship deal with Nike regarding pregnancy protections—or lack thereof—she made a monumental decision to part ways with her longtime sponsor. Today, she is sponsored by Athleta. Allyson continues to push the industry forward, using her platform to inspire real impact as her activism led Nike to eventually change their policy regarding protections for pregnant athletes and new moms — marking a historical industry shift.

I’m Obsessed With TikTok’s “Cold Girl” Makeup Trend – Here’s What You Need

    [ad_1]

While scrolling through TikTok recently, I discovered an emerging makeup trend that doesn’t seem to have that much coverage yet, but will undeniably grow in popularity as we race towards the cooler months. It’s called “Cold Girl” makeup: a serotonin-filled, ultra-feminine, offshoot of the “clean girl” makeup trend that’s been taking over my “For You” Page.

“Cold girl” makeup is a look that’s based on the unique appearance of skin that’s been exposed to the wintery elements. Think blushing cheeks, frosty pink lips, and a perfectly matte, blurred base. Essentially, “cold girl” is a happy medium between the “clean girl” and the “cool girl” beauty aesthetics that gained popularity in 2022. It’s effortlessly chic and perfect to try as we enter the cooler months.

A makeup tutorial posted on October 17th by user and makeup artist Zoe Kim Kenealy, introduces the look by setting the scene: “[It’s] 45 degrees, it’s the holidays, we’re drinking cocoa… that kind of cold.” The video has since received over 2.3 million views, emblematic of the trend’s sudden popularity. If you’re as obsessed with this makeup trend as I am, you’re in luck! I’ve combed through the “Cold Girl” makeup tag on the app to determine the must-have products to recreate this aesthetic.

Katie Holmes’s Trendy Anti-Skinny Jeans Are the Ideal Airport Jeans

    [ad_1]

We’re used to seeing photos of Katie Holmes either walking the streets of NYC in stylish outfits, or on the red carpet. But this time, she was photographed at the airport, making a post-Christmas return to the city. And as is always the case with Holmes, she was dressed in a practical outfit that was as stylish as it was wearable.

As someone who prefers to wear jeans over leggings or sweatpants to the airport, I love seeing a celebrity travel outfit that includes jeans that are actually comfortable. The instances of celebs wearing stiff, high-waisted jeans to the airport are well-documented, but Holmes opted for a pair of loose wide-leg jeans in a light wash. Her jeans are a now-sold-out pair by Wandler but there are plenty of similar styles on the market to choose from (see below).

Baggy jeans, another style in the loose-jean family, were obviously the reigning denim trend of 2022 (with low-rise being a close second), but wide-leg jeans like Holmes’s are a classic style that has been a part of many excellent airport outfits over the years. You can now add Holmes’s 2022 holiday travel outfit to that list.

Scroll to shop wide-leg jeans that are perfect for travel, just like Holmes’s.
