Kate Middleton Just Wore Trendy Cargo Skinny Jeans With the Prettiest Top

    [ad_1]

After the busy Coronation weekend, it was right back to work for members of the royal family, but with a far more casual affair for Kate Middleton and Prince William. They attended the Big Help Out (a day when people in the UK are encouraged to volunteer) with their three children in tow. And Middleton’s wardrobe for the occasion was quite the departure from her ornate wardrobe over the weekend.

For the outdoor event, Middleton wore two of her favorite casual-attire items: skinny jeans and Blundstone Chelsea boots. But the jeans weren’t her typical plain black skinny jeans. She opted for a cargo pair, which she wore with a pretty chambray denim blouse.

Cargo everything is trending right now, so it was fun to see Middleton in a pair that suited her aesthetic. There are cargo-jean options to suit every preference, so scroll on to find your pair (including the exact G-Star Raw ones that Middleton wore).

  • Irina Shayk Wore a Sheer Maxi Dress With Bikini Bottoms to the Miami Grand Prix

Irina Shayk Wore a Sheer Maxi Dress With Bikini Bottoms to the Miami Grand Prix

    [ad_1]

Every year, more and more celebrities seem to flock to Formula One races, with the Miami Grand Prix, which took place this weekend, being among the most popular of the entire season. Over the three-day event, the likes of A$AP Rocky, Madelyn Cline, Roger Federer, and Emily Ratajkowski all made their way to the Miami International Autodrome in their best race-day attire, but the celeb with the most interesting and unexpected take on F1 style was, without a shadow of a doubt, Irina Shayk

On Sunday, Shayk posted a photo dump for her 21.8 million Instagram followers with the caption “F1” followed by a black heart emoji. In it, the supermodel can be seen roaming the F1 paddock alongside former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci and model Stella Maxwell wearing the opposite of proper racing attire. By that, I mean she chose to layer a completely sheer tank dress on top of a cropped, white tee and bikini bottoms, finishing off the ensemble with Nike tube socks and point-toe sling-backs. (Practical.) For some much-needed sun protection, she added a black baseball cap and a chic pair of oval sunglasses.

Shayk’s outfit—which prioritized style over utility in almost ever way—only goes to show that the relationship between fashion and F1 is growing at a pace only comparable to the actual cars on track. Scroll down for photographic proof. And while you’re at it, shop the sheer-dress trend before the next race in two weeks time.

  • Meet The Founder Of Beloved Cupcake Brand Baked By Melissa: Melissa Ben-Ishay

Meet The Founder Of Beloved Cupcake Brand Baked By Melissa: Melissa Ben-Ishay

    [ad_1]

Over a decade ago, bespoke mini cupcakes in an innovative range of flavors quickly became the latest dessert craze in Manhattan. The cupcakes transcended beyond the dessert, infiltrating the beauty and fashion industries as the go-to gift or event delectables, and everyone knew what Baked by Melissa was. At the helm of the namesake dessert brand is Melissa Ben-Ishay. In 2008, Ben-Ishay began selling cupcakes out of her New York City apartment and hand-delivering them throughout the city, and by 2009 Baked by Melissa opened the doors to its very first retail location, a small pickup window in SoHo. Today, she has grown the business into a certified sensation with fourteen retail locations in New York, one in Boston, and a massive e-commerce platform shipping treats nationwide for every gifting occasion. Impressively, Ben-Ishay has sold over 250 million bite-sized cupcakes to date.

And while Ben-Ishay is known for redefining desserts, in 2021, she actually went viral on TikTok for her Green Goddess Salad, sharing her philosophy that if you get your nourishment from mealtime, you can enjoy dessert every day. Ben-Ishay’s viral moment catapulted her into a new rise to fame as a content creator on social media, where she shares everyday meals that empower her viewers in the kitchen.

Yet back before she was leading a multimillion-dollar company and navigating her new norm in the social media spotlight, she worked in advertising as an assistant media buyer. In fact, this job ultimately led her to start baking out of her apartment as she was unexpectedly fired from the position.

Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to hear how Ben-Ishay’s career is truly the epitome of the common phrase, “when one door closes, another one opens.” And, keep scrolling to shop some of our favorite Baked by Melissa treats.

  • This $16 MUA-Favorite, Cult-Classic Bronzer Is the Secret to Sofia Richie’s Glow

This $16 MUA-Favorite, Cult-Classic Bronzer Is the Secret to Sofia Richie’s Glow

    [ad_1]

There’s no denying it: Sofia Richie has absolutely bewitched the world. From her ethereal wedding in the South of France to her quiet luxury–inspired wardrobe, she’s essentially the star of everyone’s summer mood board right now.

As an avid beauty lover, I personally can’t get enough of the slew of “get ready with me” videos that she’s posted to her newly minted TikTok account. The videos she posts of herself doing her makeup are extremely satisfying and even, at times, oddly relatable—she uses her fingers! Perhaps the best part, however, of Richie’s GRWM glam moments is her loyalty to specific products. Richie has clearly found the makeup that works for her, and she sticks to her favorite products.

While her makeup routine is full of products from high-end brands like Dior and Chanel, there’s one product she reaches for that’s been a drugstore staple for years. In one TikTok video, Richie even calls it her “secret fave” before brushing it into the hollows of her cheeks, on the top of her forehead, and along her jawline. The product in question? Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer.

This bronzer might be a powder, but it still looks like a second layer of skin once it’s applied. That’s because it’s infused with a luxe blend of murumuru, cupuaçu, and tucuma butters, all of which are packed with fatty acids and provitamins that help moisturize and nourish your skin. It blends seamlessly into skin and has a subtle shimmer, which assists Richie in getting the most celestial glow.

Hailey Bieber Wore the Elegant Low-Heel Shoe Trend That Looks Chic With Jeans

    [ad_1]

If you’re a fan of jeans but not a fan of sky-high heels, you’ve clicked on the right story. Hailey Bieber just wore a low-key outfit you’ll love—I know I did, and I identify as a jeans fan who likes low heels. While out and about in Los Angeles earlier this week, Bieber wore a cropped white T-shirt, mid-rise jeans, and a classic belt. She paired her simple outfit with one of the chicest and most elegant shoe trends around: kitten-heel mules.

While kitten-heel mules have been a thing for years, they’re as relevant and trendy as ever. Bieber opted for a square-toe croc-embossed pair by Jil Sander she’ll surely get years of wear from. The 2-inch heels are the perfect complement to her ankle-length straight-leg jeans. I don’t know about you, but I’m inspired to order a fresh pair of kitten-heel mules for myself. Scroll for a few of my favorite contenders, including Bieber’s splurge-worthy designer pair.

  • J.Lo Just Wore the Bag Trend You Might Hate If Your Favorite Style Is Crossbody

J.Lo Just Wore the Bag Trend You Might Hate If Your Favorite Style Is Crossbody

    [ad_1]

When you’re Jennifer Lopez and you have people to open doors and carry umbrellas for you everywhere you go, having a hands-free bag probably isn’t a huge priority. So it wasn’t all that surprising when she stepped out with a certain bag trend while out in New York this week while promoting her new film, The Mother. The bag trend in question is an oversize clutch, which is basically the worst nightmare of someone who strongly prefers easy crossbody bags. But what this J.Lo-approved bag trend is lacking in convenience, it makes up for in chicness.

Not since Daniel Lee made unstructured clutches a thing during his early days at Bottega Veneta have they been so popular. But after they were seen all over the spring and fall runways and in oversize silhouettes no less, they’ve taken off again. Lopez’s clutch is by Max Mara, and it comes in at an impressive 14.5 inches across. Carrying a strapless bag of that size around all day may not be for the faint of heart, but there’s no denying that it looks cool and forward.

Scroll to shop chic oversize clutches if you’re on board with the polarizing trend.

  • The Best Outfit to Wear With Sneakers, According to French It-Girl Tina Kunakey

The Best Outfit to Wear With Sneakers, According to French It-Girl Tina Kunakey

    [ad_1]

About three years ago, I published a story about the affordable items I repurchase again and again. At the very top of my list? A pair of Superga 2750 Cotu Sneakers ($69). So when I checked my inbox and saw an offer to interview French model and actress Tina Kunakey, Superga’s newest ambassador, I jumped at the chance.

Given her impeccable style, I wanted to ask Kunakey where she gets her fashion inspiration from. “My mood really inspires me, and also the place where I am,” she says. “I don’t really get my inspiration from Instagram or runway shows. I love going to shows, but at the end of the day, it’s a show. For example, I’m not really into wearing head-to-toe runway looks because I won’t be able to wear them in real life. I try to personalize them in my own way so they fit me better.”

I also asked Kunakey what her favorite outfit to wear with sneakers is, and her answer was supremely relatable. “I would say a tank top, denim shorts, and the Superga 2750 Cotu sneakers.” Sounds like my ideal outfit, too. Keep scrolling for pieces you can use to re-create it.

This $65 H&M Dress Is a Dead Ringer for Meghan Markle’s Sold-Out Version

    [ad_1]

Whether you’re in the public eye or not, there’s something to be said for having a recognizable signature style. Whether your style is broadly defined as classic, sporty, or bohemian, or super specific combinations like ankle-length dresses with boots or high-waist jeans with boxy tees, there’s a lot of value in knowing what makes you look and feel your best.

Long before she was one of the most recognizable faces around the world, Meghan Markle honed her personal style, focusing on modern interpretations of traditional silhouettes. And, while her wardrobe ranges from casual to custom, there is a particular style that stands out as quintessentially Meg: the trench coat dress.

The duchess has worn several trench-inspired dresses, but the public first took notice of them when she stepped out in a sleeveless midi-length design by House of Nonie in 2018. In subsequent years, Markle has been photographed wearing this style of dress from brands as accessible as Banana Republic to designer labels like Wales Bonner, which she chose to wear for baby Archie’s debut.

While Banana Republic’s version is currently sold out, this classic design can be found at an array of retailers and price points. As springtime and sunshine call for shorter hemlines and lightweight fabrics, we’re excited to step into H&M’s linen version of the sleeveless belted style. But, if that’s not the right fit, there are plenty of affordable trench-inspired dresses to try on at Zara, Mango, and even Uniqlo, not to mention a few pricer designer versions.

Keep scrolling for 10 of our favorite Markle-inspired trench coat dresses, and prepare to suit up in style this season.

  • Amal Clooney Wore Classic Sneakers With the Perfect Casual Spring Dress

Amal Clooney Wore Classic Sneakers With the Perfect Casual Spring Dress

    [ad_1]

While Amal Clooney is a workwear fashion icon, her off-duty style is just as noteworthy—and quite different from her usual business attire, I might add. She appears to love fashion and has fun with it, often wearing items that are quite trendy. While getting coffee in L.A. earlier this week, Clooney embraced the “quiet luxury” look.

Clooney re-wore a knit Stella McCartney dress in step with this spring’s “in” aesthetic. Knit dresses are ideal for spring when the weather is not quite cold but not exactly hot since they’re comfortable, versatile, and provide a bit of warmth. Clooney was previously spotted in this particular dress at the airport, where she paired it with a controversial pair of boots.

This time, however, she opted for classic white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers, proving that two timeless and versatile items are better than one. Read on to shop Clooney’s chic spring outfit combination.

Aurora James: Fashion Designer, Thought Leader, Activist, and New Author

    [ad_1]

You talk about the history of your parents and a lot about your mother. You talk about the 15 Percent Pledge. I’m wondering how you thought about the flow as you went along and if it changed at all as you wrote.

Yeah, it changed a lot. In the beginning, it started out with the Pledge. It started out in the present day, and then I wanted to go back to my childhood. But then I realized I was feeling like I had to start with the Pledge to make it relevant at all.

When I started writing about my childhood, I realized this isn’t just my childhood. It’s so many of our childhoods, actually. I don’t need the KPIs that have netted out in my adulthood to validate my childhood experience and the complexities that were there.

I think for me, the anger needed to be understood, as well, because I’ve had these moments where I’ve been really angry—and I’m not an angry person. But it was super valid. I was so angry at my mom for years, and I was so angry at society for feeling like they were just writing off women. Even with fashion. It’s like, “Oh, what are these girls doing over there with their polka dots or whatever.” It’s kind of like f-you.

We have real businesses. We’re doing real things. We have a big impact on the economy. We have a big community amongst each other. We can actually affect change and do something. You don’t have to be this man sitting here telling us what we can or can’t do, how you want us to be, or how we need to be submissive to you.

I just can’t hold anger for very long. I have to find a way to channel it. The book hopefully pinpoints out to people some of the ways in which I chose to channel my anger and let it go. Carrying this baggage around with you is a heavy load. You’ve got to stop and open it sometimes. I’m not saying you have to abandon all the luggage—because I truly don’t believe that’s possible—but if we’re carrying something, we have the right to know what we are carrying, and some of it we may want to leave behind at different points to lighten the load for ourselves.

I’m Flying to Miami In 24 Hours—25 Items I’m Running to Zara to Buy and Pack

    [ad_1]

Despite writing about packing and vacation planning all day long, I’m not exactly the expert in actually doing either in a responsible manner. Usually, I think about making a packing list all the way up to a few hours before my actual flight, at which point I’m stuck throwing tons of pieces into my carry-on and hoping for the best. The result? Me ending up in Berlin without a coat, jacket, or any outerwear option at all or touching down in Mexico City sans a single pair of walking shoes.

Given that I’m flying to Miami for the Formula One Grand Prix in roughly 24 hours and have yet to take out my suitcase, I clearly haven’t learned my lesson. Luckily, I live in a city that allows me to never be more than a walk, train ride, or cab away from Zara, where right now, everything in stock feels primed for a tropical vacation. Ahead, see which items I’m planning to buy and pack when I sprint over to whichever one is closest to before I take off tomorrow.

Rihanna Arrived Fashionably Late to the Met Gala—Her Red Lip Was Worth the Wait

    [ad_1]

The party doesn’t start until Rihanna walks in. In a typical RiRi move, she and A$AP Rocky arrived fashionably late to this year’s Met Gala. But rest assured, the singer and Fenty Beauty mogul didn’t keep us waiting for nothing—her Met Gala glam was worth it.

For her makeup look, Rihanna dipped into Old Hollywood glamour, sporting a bold red lip and a bouffant hairstyle under all the white florals she was enshrouded with. Rihanna’s bold lips are a departure from many of the looks seen on the carpet tonight. While we saw tons of pink pops, eye jewels, and micro-bangs, the star kept her makeup simple and classic.

Though the star accessorized with false-eyelash sunglasses and white florals everywhere, this kind of timeless red lip is the perfect way to end a night dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld, a man who is most famous for his designs for Chanel.

“For the 2023 Met Gala, we paired an iconic Rihanna-red lip with a glamorous yet edgy high-shimmer, pearlescent eye,” says Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty global makeup artist. “We felt like the combination—matched with a soft-matte, chiseled complexion—celebrated the same classic yet modern beauty of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs.” If Lagerfeld’s legacy were reinterpreted into a beauty look, we’re pretty sure that a bold red lip, a French-girl staple, would be the centerpiece. As usual, Rihanna wins, and we’re not surprised at all.

Tonight’s Met Gala red carpet was seriously impressive. A-listers such as Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Margot Robbie, Gigi Hadid, Priyanka Chopra, and others pulled out all the stops for their Lagerfeld-inspired looks. But if you thought the fun stopped there, you’re wrong.

This year, the after-party outfits were bold, risqué, fun, and undeniably cool. While many celebrities chose to stick to the theme at the main event, they threw caution to the wind for the after-parties. Kendall Jenner, for instance, wore one of her skimpiest looks to date in a thong-exposing sheer mini dress. Scroll down to see what everyone changed into for the 2023 Met Gala after-parties.

“For a girl from the Bronx, to meet someone like Karl [Lagerfeld] was an honor,” Jennifer Lopez said to Lala Anthony, the host of this year’s Met Gala livestream, on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where fashion’s biggest names have gathered on this, the first Monday in May, to celebrate the late designer. “If you think of five people in fashion, he’s one of them.” As such a big fan of Lagerfeld’s work, Lopez had no choice but to show up to tonight’s Met Gala in a top-tier look. And that, she certainly did.

For her umpteenth Met Gala since her debut in 2004, the singer-actress worked with legendary American designer Ralph Lauren to craft an ode to Lagerfeld in dress form. The result? A black-and-pink gown made of both velvet and silk that featured a 3D flower motif made of feathers and a large ab-baring cutout. On the accessories front, she added a black fascinator, a matching baby-pink clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and her signature sky-high platform heels (this particular pair is from Piferi), which every so often could be spotted on the carpet peaking out from under her floor-sweeping hem.
