Sydney Sweeney Wore the Best Sneakers for Airport Security

    [ad_1]

Usually, when you think of Venice Film Festival fashion, casual airport looks aren’t the ones that stand out. Rather, the outfits that typically end up being the most memorable are the off-the-runway ensembles that celebrities wear while riding up to the red carpet on chic mahogany boats, outfits from labels like Prada, Chanel, Dior, and more. Yet those same celebs need to arrive and depart Venice somehow—and in something—making their travel looks just as worthy a topic to discuss this time of year.

While many A-listers prefer to risk it at the airport in clothes and footwear destined to make TSA squirm (I’m looking at you, Amal Clooney), Sydney Sweeney isn’t one of them. Following a glamorous week in Venice that involved Giorgio Armani’s One Night Only runway show and Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales premiere, the Euphoria actress waved goodbye to the Italian city in a black sweatsuit and white Miu Miu sneakers with no inconvenient laces in sight. Instead, Sweeney’s choice of airport footwear only closed with Velcro straps, a design technique that, according to airport security, is elite for getting through the line without a single problem or delay in sight.

See Sweeney’s travel look and shop TSA-approved sneakers for your next trip below.

  • The Grungy New Boot Trend That Will Be Everywhere During Fashion Month

The Grungy New Boot Trend That Will Be Everywhere During Fashion Month

    [ad_1]

If you thought Miu Miu’s ballet flats were good, just wait until you see the brand’s grungy new boots that emerged during the previous Paris Fashion Week season. Miu Miu’s much-talked-about F/W 22 collection featured the engineer-style boots are the complete and utter opposite of the dainty, pretty flats that hit viral status immediately following last season’s show in February. Made of thick, distressed leather (classic engineer boots are known for this since the material is so durable) and adorned with an array of metal harnesses and buckles, Miu Miu’s boots have quickly become fashion’s next It item.

But Prada’s little-sister brand isn’t the only one getting in on this trend. On the contrary, leather-shoe brands like Frye have long been known for their engineer boots. Others like Jeffrey Campbell, Steve Madden, and Vagabond are, too, making engineer boots a cornerstone of their fall offerings. And they’re unlikely to be the last. Ahead of their full-blown takeover, scroll down to shop the coolest engineer boots on the market right now.

    H&M’s Having a Secret 24-Hour Sale—Shop These 28 Fall Finds Before It’s Too Late

    [ad_1]

Though it might feel like the summer sales just ended, we’re already back in the thick of it, but this time, you don’t have weeks to ponder about what you want to buy. You only have a day, maybe two if you’re lucky and your favorite store’s feeling generous. Then, after the Labor Day festivities draw to a close, all of those once–red marked items go right back to being full price.

I, for one, am not about to let that happen. After all, the next big shopping holiday isn’t until Black Friday, and that’s still months away. So, when I saw that H&M was having a 24-hour Labor Day Weekend sale involving 20%-off markdowns across the entirety of its website, I didn’t dilly dally or hesitate. I acted, scrolling through all of the brand’s fall arrivals and selecting the pieces I love (especially with a lower-than-normal price tag) before pressing purchase. And to help make sure you do the same, I went ahead and listed out all of my finds below. You’re welcome.

  • Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford Agree These Jeans Are Best With Ballet Flats

Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford Agree These Jeans Are Best With Ballet Flats

    [ad_1]

When it comes to style inspiration via celebrities, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands with supermodels. The supermodels I’m referring to in this case are Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss, two of the most eternally chic women on the planet. Coincidentally, both women stepped out in similar looks from opposite sides of the pond this week, and they answered an important style question you may have: What are the best jeans to wear with ballet flats?

According to both Crawford and Moss, the answer is cropped straight-leg jeans. Crawford wore her pointed-toe ballet flats with cropped white jeans and a lightweight button-down blouse while Moss wore her traditional black ballet flats with cuffed jeans, and a leather jacket. It makes perfect sense that they’d opt for cropped jeans, as ballet flats have very thin soles and long, baggy jeans tend to swallow them up. You’d be wise to follow the OG supermodels’ lead. Scroll to do so by shopping cropped jeans and wallet flats that I highly recommend.

Blame It On Girl Math—These End-of-Season Sale Finds Are Too Good Not to Buy

    [ad_1]

The peak of sale season may already be in our rearview mirrors, but really, I find that I get the best shopping done at the very end of the summer, when prices are the lowest and you really have to dig through virtual sale bins in order to score something big. Personally, I’ve been monituring the discount scene for weeks, waiting for the best possible moment to attack those items on my wishlist that I could never afford at full price. And now, with leftover clearance pieces and Labor-Day Weekend deals teaming up, I’ve reached that perfect last window before all of those beautiful red slashes disappear.

As we speak, a handful of sales are going on. There’s the 25%-off Matches code that you have to spend $300 to qualify for (which is not a hard feat given how elite the selection is) and a secret Tory Burch sale that everyone in the NYC Who What Wear office has been whispering about. Net-a-Porter’s doling out an extra 20% off of already marked-down pieces from the summer, while J.Crew’s at 40% off almost everything on its site. Suffice to say, I know what I’m going to be doing on this Friday afternoon before the holiday weekend: shopping.

Sofia Richie Is the Latest Celebrity to Endorse Fall’s Most Classic Bag Trend

    [ad_1]

You might disagree with me when I tell you that the bag we’re discussing here today is a trend, but that’s okay. Some trends are also quite classic, and that’s certainly the case with the latest Sofia Richie-endorsed bag trend. While out in Beverly Hills this week, Richie wore a casual all-black outfit paired with a suede Saint Laurent bag (the yet-to-be-released Jamie 4.3 Bag in Brown Suede, to be exact).

Just last week we reported on Jennifer Lopez’s suede bag and now Richie is on board with the low-key, yet utterly sumptious trend. In addition to Saint Laurent, brands of varying price points (i.e. The Row, Staud, Khaite, and J.Crew, to name a few), have been busy releasing a slew of chic suede bags as of late, and I, for one, have taken the hint—as has Richie.

Olivia Wilde Just Re-Created Lorelai Gilmore’s Most Iconic Outfit

    [ad_1]

I don’t know about you, but I’m currently on the “why did you drop out of Yale?” side of TikTok. IYKYK. Every Gilmore Girls fan knows that watching reruns is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of fall. Nobody nails sweater weather quite like Rory, after all. So it’s no surprise that I immediately thought of Lorelai Gilmore when I saw Olivia Wilde’s cute new outfit.

Wearing a T-shirt, extra-short shorts, and cowboy boots, Wilde’s outfit reminded me of what Lorelai wore in the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls. You know the one: when she’s late to drop off Rory at Chilton and insists that she doesn’t have anything else to wear because it’s laundry day. And then she proceeds to embarrass both Rory and Emily by walking the prestigious school’s hallways in Daisy Duke shorts. As long as you’re not rolling up to Chilton with your daughter, this outfit is actually on-trend and worth copying. Scroll down to see Olivia Wilde in the iconic Lorelai Gilmore outfit.

Natalia Dyer Is Already Wearing This Runway-Approved 2024 Trend

    [ad_1]

While traveling to Copenhagen Fashion Week is definitely fun, it’s also work. Part of my job is to attend shows and take note of recurring themes that pop up on the runways. For the S/S 24 season, there was one trend in particular that was absolutely everywhere: long shorts. The list of brands that included long shorts in their shows is lengthy, but I’ll attempt to call out several: Gestuz, Baum und Pferdgarten, Kernemilk, Paolina Russo, Remain, Wood Wood, and The Garment. Is that enough to convince you of the trend’s staying power?

Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer is getting quite the headstart on spring 2024 trends, as she was just photographed wearing long shorts in New York City. I love the chill way she styled them: with a loose button-down shirt and loafers. It doesn’t get any easier than that. For a tennis-loving fashion editor like myself, the U.S. Open is truly the most magical time of year. The event always draws a stylish crowd, including one of the most dedicated tennis fans out there: Anna Wintour. (I personally saw her stay at the event until 1 a.m. for the completion of a Roger Federer match, despite the fact that she’s a notoriously early riser.) This year, we were all in for a real treat because former First Lady Michelle Obama graced us with her presence at the Open.

Obama attended the opening night celebration, which honored the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Open becoming the first sporting event to offer equal prize money to men and women. (Thank you, Billie Jean King!) For the occasion, Obama wore a denim Oscar de la Renta dress with my favorite 2000s trend: a shrug. Cropped cardigans were a staple in my high school wardrobe and I’m delighted to see it resurrected in such a stylish way. Scroll down to see Michelle Obama’s new outfit.

  • Every Product on Kim Cattrall’s Face For Her Million-Dollar AJLT Appearance

Every Product on Kim Cattrall’s Face For Her Million-Dollar AJLT Appearance

    [ad_1]

Last week, we were all treated to the most anticipated television appearance of the year. For one episode only, Kim Cattrall reprised her role as the widely beloved Samantha Jones in the season two finale of And Just Like That. The cameo only lasted for 74 seconds (and it’s rumored that Cattrall was paid over $1 million for her time) but it gave audiences something they’ve desperately been missing: her signature Samantha Jones flair.

With that came the return of Patricia Field, the iconic stylist who outfitted the characters in the original Sex and the City. Cattrall also brought along her makeup artist, Kyra Panchenko, who created a glam look worthy of Samantha.

Cattrall sported smoky eyes, glossy lips, and glowing skin for her return. For someone who famously doesn’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where she’s not enjoying herself, she certainly made the most of her 74 seconds on-screen. We’re holding out hope for a season 3 appearance, but in the meantime, keep reading for every product Panchenko used on Cattrall for the episode.

Gigi Hadid Just Wore the Jeans Micro-Trend That’s About to Be Everywhere

    [ad_1]

Something has been proven time and again: If Gigi Hadid wears a pair of jeans, they already are trendy or soon will be. She has great taste (as we all know), but she also is one of those fashionable celebs who are influential enough to make people around the world want to go out and buy something. I’m saying all of this now because Hadid just wore the next big denim trend, and it happens to fall under the low-rise umbrella.

For a night out earlier this week in L.A., Hadid wore a pair of cutoff-waistband jeans. First of all, they look quite comfortable. Second of all, this is a trend that I’ve noticed has been bubbling on the market as of late, so it’s only natural that cool It girls like Hadid would be adding the trend to their wardrobes.

Hadid paired her low-rise raw-waistband jeans with a crop top (naturally), fun jewelry, and Miu Miu penny loafers, and it’s all just perfect.

  • The Barrier Preventing You From Discovering Your Personal Style

The Barrier Preventing You From Discovering Your Personal Style

    [ad_1]

Tell me a little bit about the process. Why did you think, “You know what? Let’s put all this information together in a book”?

I was staying at my cousin’s house, and I was doing my FaceTime styling sessions in her guest bedroom. In between each session, she would run in and be like, “Okay, who was she?” We would talk about each person, and then at the end of the day, we sat down, and we were talking about the women that I had met that day. We were kind of analyzing them.

Maybe it’s crazy, but it was the first time that I was thinking about the clients on a larger scale. Of course, we all have individual struggles, but in talking to my cousin, I realized that there were almost prototypes that were emerging. Even though the specific issues and the wardrobes were totally different, the prescriptions were similar.

We all have different wardrobes and different struggles. A lot of us don’t know our style, or we know it, but we’re not confident to try, or we don’t understand how to dress for our body or what we perceive our body to look like, or we don’t understand what we have in our wardrobe, or we have shopping trauma. There are all these little buckets, and I feel like a lot of the solutions are similar, regardless of what your closet looks like.

Hailey Bieber’s NYC Looks Are Proof That This Is the Only Color That Matters RN

    [ad_1]

I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing I enjoy more from the celeb set than when they go all out with a theme (I’m looking at you, Margot Robbie). And that’s exactly what Hailey Bieber’s done for the New York City press tour of her latest Rhode launch: the Strawberry Glazed Doughnut Peptide Lip Treatment designed in collaboration with Krispy Kreme.

For the trip—which included an event at the Krispy Kreme flagship store in Times Square, a stint on Good Morning America, a Ferrari-red Corvette convertible, and a helicopter ride—Bieber wore not one, not two, but three looks in a single day, all of which featured the color on everyone’s lips right now (just to clarify, I don’t mean the PLT, that’s clear): bright, fiery red.

First, she was spotted leaving the GMA offices wearing a drapey, red midi dress from Vivienne Westwood’s fall 2023 collection, paired with matching sky-high Maison Ernest sandals and Ferragamo’s buzzy Wanda bag. She then traveled downtown to TriBeCa, exiting her van in an equally drapey fall 2023 Marc Jacobs minidress in white, paired with the same Ferragamo top-handle bag and new Manolo Blahnik Maysale mules in the vibrant color. After a quick outfit change at Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York, one of NYC’s hottest new hotels, Bieber stepped out in a red, corset-style strapless minidress by Ermanno Scervino, styled with the same Maison Ernest heels from earlier in the day and a matching Courrèges bag. It’s as if she and her stylist, Dani Michelle, had a color palette in mind…

The Alaïa and the studded Khaite versions have proven to be particularly popular among the fashion set, but they are far from the only options you have when trying out the look. Amal Clooney, for instance, just wore a much fancier version of the trend in the form of mesh heels.

Brian Atwood Designed the Shoe Version of a Capsule Wardrobe for Express

    [ad_1]

Versace’s chief designer of women’s accessories. The Red Carpet Fashion Awards’ Shoe Designer of the Year in 2010 and 2011. The founder of an eponymous footwear brand worn by Zendaya, Victoria Beckham, Sofia Richie Grainge, and Jennifer Lopez. These are just a few of Brian Atwood’s successes throughout his decades-long career in fashion—specifically in shoes. Now, the former model who was hired by Gianni Versace himself has another completely casual achievement to add to his résumé: creative director of footwear at Express.

On Tuesday, American giant Express announced Atwood’s new position at the helm of its shoe department as well as his debut line for the brand, Brian Atwood for Express. “I grew up with sisters, so Express has been in my life, even since an early age,” Atwood says. “Working with such a huge company, one that has national mass appeal, was exciting and also challenging.” Never one to say no to a difficult feat—according to an interview in Coveteur, Versace once asked him out of the blue to try his hand at haute couture footwear for one of his collections—Atwood says he was intrigued by the opportunity to elevate the brand’s current assortment and bring its loyal customers something new and unexpected using his immense knowledge of shoe design.

For his first collection for Express, his goal was simple: great shoes. “Shoes should have a timeless nature to them, and that’s exactly what I have created with this collection,” he says. “Classic styles that women are going to want to wear and keep forever.” Of course, at the same time, he wanted to ensure that the collection had a bit of fashion in it. “I think the materials and colors are gorgeous, and with each design, we are giving the Express customer something they haven’t had from the brand before,” he explains.  According to Atwood, Express let him do his thing. He adds, “They know my expertise and where I can help.”

Louis Vuitton’s Newest It Bag Has Arrived—and Cate Blanchett Already Owns It

    [ad_1]

When you’ve worked in fashion as long as I have, you know to trust your instinct that something will hit the big time. At first glimpse of Louis Vuitton‘s newest handbag launch, my fashion editor senses were immediately tingling. Never mind the fact that Cate Blanchett and Hoyeon already own the hot-off-the-press bag—the sophisticated design alone makes it worthy of this season’s most coveted accessory award.

Louis Vuitton’s new GO-14 bag is actually a relaunch of a bag first shown at Nicolas Ghesquière’s October 2014 runway show, hence the name. The bag features a padded crisscross pattern called malletage, which is inspired by the padded interior of Louis Vuitton’s traditional trunks. The bag is a perfect representation of the house’s commitment to artistry. “The creative process requires more than 20 different steps, including the utmost meticulousness on the patina to ensure a satin or toasted finish and to perfect the color’s subtle gradations,” the press release stated. How’s that for attention to detail? Scroll down to see how Cate Blanchett styled the bag and shop it for yourself.
