Princess Kate Just Traded Her Skinny Jeans for This Mega-Popular Trend

    [ad_1]

While Prince William is across the pond in New York City this week, Princess Kate is holding down the fort in London. Attending an event supporting the Streets of Growth charity, Kate Middleton wore a camel-colored pantsuit by Roland Mouret. Although she still wears her go-to skinny jeans, the Princess of Wales has lately been favoring wide-leg trousers instead. And who could blame her? The style is incredibly on-trend and looks exceptionally chic.

Other celebrity fans of wide-leg trousers include Margot RobbieLucy Hale, and Rihanna. I particularly love the color Middleton chose. In fact, wearing head-to-toe camel is a signature royal look that Princess Charlene is also a fan of. Scroll down to see Kate Middleton’s newest outfit and shop similar trousers for yourself.

New York Fashion Week Through the Eyes of Aussie Style Muse Gemma Chua-Tran

    [ad_1]

When Australian actress Gemma Chua-Tran landed in New York City for fashion week, she came prepared with a jam-packed schedule of must-see shows, presentations, after-parties, and, of course, some local shopping. For the occasion, the Sydney native packed a suitcase full of whimsical looks worthy of their own spotlight. Best known for playing Sasha So on the popular Netflix original series Heartbreak High—a reimagination of Australia’s popular ’90s coming-of-age show—Chua-Tran has proved herself every bit a fashion muse with her costume-like approach to dressing. Think romantic dresses, unique vintage finds, and satin bows. Oh, she has a knack for seriously cool makeup too.

With stops at some of the week’s coolest shows, including Collina Strada, Bach Mai, and Tanner Fletcher, Chua-Tran documented her fashion-filled week exclusively for Who What Wear.

  • Gap Just Dropped Hundreds of New Arrivals for Fall—Here’s What I’m Buying

Gap Just Dropped Hundreds of New Arrivals for Fall—Here’s What I’m Buying

    [ad_1]

The leaves haven’t even started to change color yet on the East Coast, but it’s safe to say that most people are more than ready for fall. After an unbelievably hot summer, I’m looking forward to crisp sunny mornings, cooler temperatures at night, and perhaps a fall foliage tour well before Halloween. But, before all that, I’ll have to carve out a weekend to do my seasonal wardrobe swap. Thanks to small NYC apartments and even tinier closets, I’ll be getting my chunky fall sweaters, cashmere knits, and leather jacket out of my under-bed storage and into my closet.

While unearthing forgotten gems from my own wardrobe is enjoyable, I’m not afraid to admit that fall is my favorite season to shop for clothes. This year, I’m looking to replace worn-out basics like button-up shirts and blue jeans, add a few fun statement pieces, and yes, probably several new sweaters. Hey—sweater weather is a thing for a reason, right?

Given my affinity for classic style, I always make a point of stopping at Gap to see their new pieces each season. And, although I haven’t been inside a store yet, I have spent hours scrolling through Gap’s new arrivals for fall. Yes, they’re that good.

If you’re ready for 60-degree days, check out the 25 pieces I’m adding to my closet ASAP. Even better? Most items are on sale! So, shop it while it’s hot, and get ready for cooler days ahead.

  • Kim Kardashian Wore Jeans With Nothing But a Crystal Bra Top

Kim Kardashian Wore Jeans With Nothing But a Crystal Bra Top

    [ad_1]

Kim Kardashian didn’t steal the spotlight from Beyoncé as the singer celebrated her birthday during her latest Renaissance concert tour, but she may have come close.

Kardashian was spotted enjoying the show in a sparkly top that was obviously on-theme (everyone has been wearing silver lately), and, predictably, a bit extra. The custom Swarovski crystal top was inspired by different pieces in the brand’s Milennia line, including a bandeau bra, body chain, and layers of necklaces that created a choker effect.  Styled with baggy ripped jeans and a similarly sparkly purse, it’s safe to assume that a few eyes were on Kardashian that evening—at least when Beyoncé was off-stage doing a costume change.

Inspired by the disco ball-worthy look? Keep scrolling for several fun glittery tops, baggy jeans, and silver bags to wear on your next big night out. And good luck scoring those Renaissance tickets!

Resisting These 27 Designer Sale Finds Would Be a Bad Idea, Right?

    [ad_1]

I like to think of myself as a strong, level-headed person, but I’ll be the first person to admit that I have one very dangerous weakness: sales. Whether it’s 15% off or 90%, I’m going to scroll and/or sift meticulously through a sale’s contents, and if the options are good, I usually have no problem justifying a purchase (or two). Luckily, it’s a design flaw that’s made me and my closet very happy, which is why I have no plans to change, especially now that I’ve had some time to look through the late-in-the-season designer sales that are happening as we speak.

Matches, Net-a-Porter, Nordstrom, Mytheresa, and more continue to mark down last season’s leftovers, and while you might have to do some digging through them, the gems you can unearth are well worth the work. Trust me—I’ve spent the last six or so hours doing just that. To save you some time and curb my never-quenched thirst for sales, I went ahead and rounded up a few of my best designer finds below. That way, you’ll save time (and money), and I’ll still get to do what I love most.

How Amina Porter Is Reshaping the Future of Travel With PS

    [ad_1]

Amina Porter—the visionary CEO behind PS, a private luxury airport terminal for commercial-flight passengers—has completely evolved the travel experience. PS offers a range of elevated amenities, on-site TSA screening, and transportation directly to the tarmac, allowing travelers to bypass the typical hassles of the airport and truly enjoy the process of travel. Currently operating in Los Angeles and Atlanta International Airports, PS has ambitious plans to expand to major U.S. airports in places such as Miami and Dallas by 2025.

As Porter stands at the helm of redefining future travel, her fascination with exploration and the art of travel remains a constant driving force and source of inspiration. Having lived in seven different cities and speaking five languages, she has a genuine passion for experiencing diverse cultures and places. However, her professional journey took an unexpected turn after she began her career in finance, working in China. During her six-year stint in China, Porter leveraged her financial expertise to consult on the opening of Shanghai’s first boutique hotel—a venture that hinted at her future in the world of luxury travel.

In order to add depth to her already impressive business acumen, Porter pursued her MBA at Wharton. Upon completing her MBA, she climbed the ranks to become a senior director at the esteemed real estate investment firm Lionstone. However, in 2018, Porter experienced a personal tragedy that compelled her to reevaluate her priorities. It was this life-altering event that prompted her to make a bold decision. She stepped away from her successful career at Lionstone, halted production on an accessory company she was running on the side, and embarked on a profound journey of reinvention. Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to hear how Porter’s decision to step away from her career actually led her to PS, where she is making a great impact on travel culture.

Madewell Just Put Jeans That Never Go On Sale On Sale—These 11 Pairs Are Epic

    [ad_1]

I’d say that Madewell’s jeans are underrated but they’re not—they have plenty of hype surrounding them and it’s proven to be warranted. I can personally speak to their excellence, as I’ve worn Madewell jeans for the past 15 years. The only sad thing about being a fan of Madewell jeans is that many styles are typically excluded from the brand’s epic sales—until now.

Madewell is currently holding its Insider Event sale, and all you have to do is sign up for an account to receive the 25% off sitewide discount (and those with Stars and Icons status get 30% off). For this particular sale, Madewell is including a massive assortment of denim in the mix, and it’s so significant that the brand calls it “never-on-sale denim” itself on the homepage. I highly suggest taking advantage of this sale because who knows when they’ll be marked down again. All you have to do is pick your pair (s) and sign into your Insider account to get the discount.

Scroll on to shop the 25%-off jeans I recommend adding to your wardrobe before the sale ends on September 25.

  • Meghan Markle, Katie Holmes, and Kendall Jenner Just Wore Fall’s Prettiest Trend

Meghan Markle, Katie Holmes, and Kendall Jenner Just Wore Fall’s Prettiest Trend

    [ad_1]

Between New York Fashion Week and Meghan Markle’s many appearances at the Invictus Games, it’s been quite a week for celebrity sightings. And now that it’s September, people are starting to dabble in fall trends, and I love to see it. I especially love to see it when celebrities have favorite trends in common. And one of them was quick to emerge this week.

Satin was a trend that was spotted on the F/W 23 runways of Tory Burch, Saint Laurent, and Ferragamo (among others), and now it’s been spotted on Meghan Markle, Katie Holmes, and Kendall Jenner within hours of each other. I think it’s safe to say that it’s one of fall’s prettiest trends, if not the prettiest. Whether in jewel tones, pastels, or neutrals, a garment just looks so much more luxe when the fabric is satin—as you can see with Jenner and Markle’s button-downs and Holmes’ pencil skirt.

Keep scrolling to see how these three celebs styled their satin, and shop some of my favorite pieces if you love the trend as much as they do.

  • Rising Star Aria Mia Loberti Channels Audrey Hepburn for Debut TIFF Appearance

Rising Star Aria Mia Loberti Channels Audrey Hepburn for Debut TIFF Appearance

    [ad_1]

To say that Aria Mia Loberti has that It factor, a magnetism that lights up the screen, would be a gross understatement. She did, after all, land the lead role of Marie-Laure LeBlanc in the upcoming adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize–winning novel All the Light We Cannot See out of thousands of hopefuls during a global casting search for blind and low-vision actresses. Although she had no prior acting experience, Loberti—who was recently named the newest L’Occitane global ambassador—made a big impression, and an early preview of the series confirms her star power.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Loberti was celebrated as one of the 2023 TIFF Rising Stars this past weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. The prestigious program showcases the next generation of international acting talent poised for success. Previous honorees include Thuso Mbedu, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Tatiana Maslany. During their time at the festival, TIFF’s Rising Stars are immersed in a series of public events and development meetings with notable industry insiders. For Loberti, the whirlwind three days included stops at the Chanel x Variety annual Female Filmmakers Dinner and the TIFF Tribute Awards. With the help of stylist Sarah Slutsky Tooley, she made quite the fashion impression at both.

Here, Loberti documents the fantasy weekend exclusively for Who What Wear.

  • Don’t Blame Me, Blame Tory Burch—Capri Pants Are Nearing a Serious Comeback

Don’t Blame Me, Blame Tory Burch—Capri Pants Are Nearing a Serious Comeback

    [ad_1]

If you know me, you’re probably aware of my keen interest in trends that many would consider controversial. There’s the hot pants, of course, and underwear worn with just tights (no pants). I wear more low-rise jeans than high-rise ones these days and were fond of wedges before they came back. Though I often describe my style as classic and minimal, my obsession with out-there pieces and styling techniques would beg to differ. So, it should come as no surprise that a particular item caught my eye at Tory Burch’s spring/summer 2024 runway show earlier this week—an item that, for those who dressed themselves in the early to mid aughts, might bring with it some minor backlash.

The silhouette in question is capri pants, which haven’t been done in the chicest of ways in recent years, but got one hell of a face lift in Burch’s spring collection, which featured tailored versions of the anti-puddle pants three times, paired with blazers and matching lady jackets, not to mention sporty sunglasses, retro pocket books, and toe-ring footwear. Once so uncool, the sight of capris at the show immediately flipped my perception of them on its head, making me want to immediately leave the show and start shopping for pairs to add into my early fall wardrobe.

  • Olivia Wilde Just Made Hot Pants Look Shockingly Wearable

Olivia Wilde Just Made Hot Pants Look Shockingly Wearable

    [ad_1]

New York Fashion Week is always accompanied by one too many over-the-top outfits (at least for my taste). Sure, it’s a great opportunity to experiment in the dressing room, making pairings that you’d normally consider to be too out-there for just any day at the office. But at times, the looks go too far. Then, there are the masters, the people who can style those risqué pieces just right and make their outfits feel both fitting for the occasion and not in need of any editing down.

One such mastermind is Olivia Wilde (and her stylist Karla Welch), who arrived at the Michael Kors Collection S/S 24 show in Brooklyn this week wearing 2023’s most daring trend: hot pants. Minuscule in size but huge in impact, the teeny-tiny shorts that have been popping up all year are shockingly difficult to style in a low-key, approachable manner. Yet that’s exactly how I’d describe Wilde’s look, which included the brown suede shorts, a matching cashmere sweater, sheer tights, and a floor-length coat, all of which were designed by the man of the hour, Michael Kors. She also added her signature Ray-Ban Wayfarers, of course, and knee-high suede boots from Stuart Weitzman. Just like that, Wilde cracked the code for styling hot pants for fall. Add a maxi coat, tights, and boots, and voilà—a completely wearable way to style bottoms that are only an inch away from being underwear

Scroll down to see Wilde’s look for the Michael Kors Collection show.

  • Here’s How Our Editors Put Together the Kaia Gerber Cover

Here’s How Our Editors Put Together the Kaia Gerber Cover

    [ad_1]

There are so many things to be mindful of when putting together such a big shoot like this. What are some of the things that you really have to work through?

There are definitely tons and tons of limitations, but we always make it work, and we really pride ourselves on being a scrappy group of gals. Budgets are definitely one. Once we lock in our concepts, we go to our production team, and they’re able to guide us into whether our concepts can be made a reality—if they can help us figure out how to do it within the budget restrictions or if it’s really something we might have to pivot and go back to the drawing board a little bit.

We definitely have those conversations ahead of time, so we can not get too excited about having a shoot on an island somewhere and then having that shot down. We also like to think about what the talent will resonate with the most. … At the end of the day, we can run off with our ideas and just excite each other about certain concepts, but we want the talent to be really comfortable. The more excited the talent is about everything—from what they’re wearing to the concept to the story to the photographer, the hair and makeup, all of it—the more excited they are to show up on set and just have a really great shoot experience.

We also need to work within the confines of a lot of brand deals that might be present with the talent. That often will present a lot of brand restrictions. … If someone has a contract with a big LVMH house, there are a lot of brand restrictions that go with that, which can often restrict what we’re able to call in, who we’re able to shoot, and even often our concepts can be a little bit tweaked because of that. Like I said, we try to get all of that knowledge and information beforehand so that we don’t get too married to ideas. I’ve had my heart broken a few times with being told we can’t do something that I really had my heart set on. Like I said, we always figure it out.

  • The Next It Uggs Are Here, and They Represent a Major Fall Boot Trend

The Next It Uggs Are Here, and They Represent a Major Fall Boot Trend

    [ad_1]

Just like clockwork, each September (usually around NYFW), the new It Ugg boot emerges, and a swift sell-out comes soon after. This time around, it’s Lori Harvey who’s giving the boots their celebrity debut. The name of this year’s soon-to-be-viral style is the Ugg Classic Dipper Platform Boots, and they’re right in step with one of fall 2023’s biggest boot trends.

Like last year’s It Ugg boots, the Classic Ultra Mini Platform Boots, the Classic Dippers feature a platform sole, but it’s the sock-like shaft that makes it purely “2023”. This isn’t the first season we’ve seen the sock boot trend, but the interesting thing about it this time around is that all of the iterations on the runway were off-kilter takes on the sock boot, from Bottega Veneta’s leather ones that were crafted to look like crew socks to Chanel’s second-skin knee-high leather pair. Ugg’s rendition is right in step with that distinction.

The VMAs After-Party Outfits That Rivaled the Red Carpet

    [ad_1]

The red carpet at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards was nothing short of spectacular. Taylor Swift stunned in a sultry Versace number while BFF Selena Gomez went with a custom Oscar de la Renta dress in fire-engine red. Olivia Rodrigo shimmered thanks to thousands of Swarovski crystals sewn into her Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress. Oh, and don’t get me started on Cardi B’s metallic dress by Dilara Findikoglu. Now that was a show-stopper.

However, the fun doesn’t end there. The after-party looks were just as daring, exciting, and fashion-forward as the main red carpet. Keep reading to see what Gomez, Ice Spice, and others wore to the 2023 VMAs after parties.

Selena Gomez Used Everyone’s Favorite Liquid Blush at the VMAs

    [ad_1]

If one thing in this world is certain, it’s that if Selena Gomez shows up to an awards show, she’s going to pull a major look. This year’s VMAs were no different—Gomez walked the red carpet in a shimmering red dress and strappy heels to match. Though the outfit was head-turning enough, we can’t stop thinking about her makeup.

Gomez complemented her dress with a monochromatic makeup look. She sported a brown, elongated smoky eye and brown lip liner, but hyper-dewy skin and rosy cheeks balanced out the whole look. In true Gomez fashion, the look is entirely Rare Beauty, and done by her longtime makeup artist, Hung Vanngo

It’s no surprise that Gomez would show up wearing Rare Beauty—she’s one of the few celebs that’s truly committed to her own makeup line. There’s still something gratifying, however, about seeing Gomez wearing mega-viral products like her TikTok-famous Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the wild. Wearing Meghan Markle’s Travel Pants and Flats Would Make Any Flight Better

    [ad_1]

Meghan Markle is on the move—to Europe for the Invictus Games, specifically—and has the perfect travel outfit for the 10.5-hour flight. As someone who admittedly struggles with long-flight outfit planning, I appreciate all the help I can get (even if Meghan Markle didn’t intentionally mean to help me).

While everything about Markle’s outfit for the trip was spot-on, it was her pants and shoes that really caught my eye. Markle opted for loose wide-leg pants for the flight, which I find to be a genius move. The loose trousers provide comfort for the lengthy flight, but also polish (which they have far more of than leggings or sweatpants). For her shoes, she opted for a pair of chic flat mules, and I’ll tell you why that was also a smart move. Obviously flats are key on travel days, and the backless pair may not be quite as secure as, say, a pair of sneakers, but the benefit you get is not having your shoes rubbing the back of your ankle raw as you walk through a massive airport.

To round out her outfit, Markle wore a V-neck sweater, oversized sunglasses, a designer tote bag, and straw hat. Scroll on to shop the look, as well as some of my favorite wide-leg pants and flats for flights.
