I Spent 3 Hours Sorting Through This Epic Skincare Sale—Here’s What I’d Grab

    [ad_1]

If you’re like me, you’ve been lulled into a false sense of sale-shopping security. After all, we’re in between Labor Day and Black Friday (two of the biggest sale events of the year), and there are seemingly no discounts on the horizon. So, we should kick back and expect to pay full price for all of our favorite skincare products, right? Not so fast.

From October 3 through October 11, Skinstore is holding a pretty epic Friends & Family SaleScore up to 25% off skincare products and devices when you use the code FRIENDS at checkout. Personally, I’m using this as an opportunity to get a head start on holiday shopping. Ahead, check out the skincare products (and a few makeup products) I’m adding to my cart before the sale ends.

I’ve Tried, But I Just Can’t Stop Thinking About These Fall Ref and Mango Finds

    [ad_1]

Since I look at clothes pretty much all day, every day, being able to resist pretty things is practically an essential part of my job description. If I couldn’t, well, my paycheck would never actually reach my bank account. There are far too many temptations in the way. With that in mind, when I’m categorically unable to say no and mean it, the pieces causing this internal battle have to be good. Trust me. I’m not giving in for just anything.

Right now, there are really only two brands swirling around my mind with no intention of leaving and no one exactly kicking them out: Mango and Reformation. That’s because I spent a few too many hours today scrolling through both retailers’ fall collections and was thoroughly impressed with what I found. From viral-worthy dresses to the prettiest boots you’ll see, like, ever, find a little bit of everything your fall wardrobe’s been craving below from Reformation and Mango. At least, I know I did.

Louis Vuitton Just Set the 2024 Trends Everyone Will Want to Wear

    [ad_1]

Every Louis Vuitton show is a unique experience, but there are a few things you can count on each season: an A-list front row, a spectacular set design, and museum-worthy runway looks. The spring/summer 2024 show held in Paris today didn’t disappoint in any of these categories.

As for celebrity attendees, the list reads like a who’s who in Hollywood: Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, Pharrell Williams, Emma Chamberlain, Ana de Armas, Cynthia Erivo, Gemma Chan, and Chloë Grace Moretz were among the celebrities sitting front row. The striking venue on the famed Champs-Élysée was swathed in orange plastic and LV logos, making for quite the unique backdrop. The best part of the experience, however, was what everyone came for: the new clothes and accessories. Scroll down for the top trends of the new collection.

Kaia Gerber Just Wore Madewell’s Best-Selling Shirt in Paris

    [ad_1]

I don’t know about you, but I’ve long been obsessed with the “model-off-duty” look. In stark contrast to peacocking showgoers—I still love you, street style stars!—models tend to dress in chill, casual outfits when not on the runway. Case in point: the look Kaia Gerber wore on her way to walk the Valentino show during Paris Fashion Week this weekend.

Gerber wore Madewell’s best-selling Signature Poplin Oversized Shirt ($85) with slouchy trousers and simple black accessories. The shirt boasts over 90 glowing reviews, with customers admiring the crisp material, good quality, and trendy oversize fit. While white is arguably the most classic choice, the shirt also comes in five other colors: black, light blue, khaki, pink, and lime green. Scroll down to see how Kaia Gerber styled the shirt and shop it for yourself.

  • From Spice Girl to Multitalented Storyteller: Geri Halliwell-Horner’s Evolution

From Spice Girl to Multitalented Storyteller: Geri Halliwell-Horner’s Evolution

    [ad_1]

There’s no denying that Geri Halliwell-Horner is an icon. At just 22 years old, she skyrocketed to stardom as Ginger Spice in the legendary girl band the Spice Girls, whose debut single, “Wannabe,” took the world by storm, topping charts in 22 countries. The group’s unparalleled success continued with their record-breaking stint at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, making them a global sensation and best-selling girl group at the time, notorious for both their music and style.

Then, in 1998, Halliwell-Horner embarked on a solo music career, releasing three studio albums. Yet her artistic journey didn’t stop there. She discovered her passion for storytelling, leading her to venture into the world of literature. Her best-selling autobiography, If Only, opened the door to her career as an author. Her fictional children’s series Ugenia Lavender achieved remarkable success, selling over 250,000 copies within its first five months. And tomorrow, on October 3, Halliwell-Horner’s latest book, Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen, makes its debut. To enhance the reading experience, she has even composed music to accompany the novel, demonstrating her boundless creativity and dedication to storytelling.

  • The $99 Nordstrom Boots I’m Buying to Get the Grungy Miu Miu Look on a Budget

The $99 Nordstrom Boots I’m Buying to Get the Grungy Miu Miu Look on a Budget

    [ad_1]

No single pair of boots has taken up residence in the brains of practically every person in fashion in recent years quite as significantly as Miu Miu’s moto boots, which the brand debuted in its F/W 22 collection. Mixed among penny loafers and the now-viral satin Mary Jane flats were a variety of heavy-duty, distressed leather boots in brown and black with a round toe, an ankle strap secured by large metal fasteners, and buckles up the leg that brought the thick material together on either side. Similar to the other footwear they were accompanied by on the runway, attendees and digital onlookers alike were instantly smitten.

As a result, over the past year, many brands have hopped aboard the moto-boot train, with options arriving from Steve Madden, Mango, and more. But none has gotten me quite as excited as the $99 pair I just discovered on Nordstrom.com. Ankle height, buckled to perfection, and featuring just the right amount of heel, the boots, courtesy of Nordstrom’s in-house, editor-favorite label Open Edit, check off every box. And the price isn’t half bad either. (I’m obviously kidding—the price is the *best* part.) Scroll down to shop Open Edit’s just-in moto boots ahead of fall’s official arrival.

  • Amal Clooney Just Wore the 9-to-5 Version of Fall’s Chicest Outfit Trend

Amal Clooney Just Wore the 9-to-5 Version of Fall’s Chicest Outfit Trend

    [ad_1]

I just love to talk about Amal Clooney’s chameleon-like style. One evening, she’ll be decked out in a glamorous, trendy look while out with husband George Clooney, and the next morning she’ll be back to business attire for her career as a human rights barrister. That’s exactly what occurred this week as she stepped out in a corporate-chic look after attending an event in NYC for her foundation in a white Versace gown the night before. But since we already discussed the bridal vibes of the gown, I’m here to talk about the morning-after look.

One of the biggest outfit trends right now is the combination of a long vest-like top and a slim maxi or midi skirt. Given how chic and effortless the outfit is, it’s not surprising that it’s been such a popular look over the past several months. Clooney opted for a gray pencil midi skirt and a long matching vest, which she accessorized with an oversize leather bag, a belt to cinch the vest at her waist (another on-trend element), and black pumps. Scroll on to see examples of the outfit trend (including on Clooney, of course), and shop it for yourself.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Both Wore This Lingerie-Inspired Trend in Paris

    [ad_1]

It’s been a busy fashion month here at Who What Wear—and it’s not over yet! Not only are we tracking the standout runway trends in each city, but we’re also closely following the street style and celebrity fashion scenes. For instance, both Madelyn Cline and Kendall Jenner were on the same page about formfitting leather dresses this week. Now, we have another twinning moment courtesy of Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner.

Attending the Victoria Beckham show in Paris today, the mother-daughter duo wore coordinating slip dresses. The lingerie-inspired trend is a favorite of fashion people, and it’s not hard to see why. The slinky material makes for an instantly sexy look, while the extra-thin straps are so on-trend thanks to this year’s ’90s renaissance. Scroll down to see what Kim and Kris wore to the Victoria Beckham show and shop slip dresses for yourself.

Madelyn Cline and Kendall Jenner Are Both Wearing This Dress Trend in Paris

    [ad_1]

Paris Fashion Week is not only exciting because of all the new clothes showcased on the runways. I also look forward to this week twice a year because of all the A-list attendees who turn up in their absolute best looks. Madelyn Cline and Kendall Jenner, for instance, are certainly no exception. Both ladies are wearing the same dress trend in Paris this week: formfitting black leather dresses.

Cline chose a slashed Givenchy dress to wear to the brand’s runway show, while Jenner went the more classic route with a sleeveless sheath dress. Both looks have convinced me that I need a (faux) leather dress for fall and winter this year. Scroll down to see their brand-new outfits and shop the trend for yourself. Whether you only want to spend $55 or you’re ready to invest in a designer version, I found the perfect leather dress for you.

The Expensive-Looking Trend That’s All Over Zara and H&M Right Now

While some people are excited about the arrival of sweater weather, I, for one, am excited about leather weather. I can’t wait to break out all of my favorite (faux) leather pieces, including blazers, pants, dresses, skirts, and coats. There’s one item, in particular, that I’m spotting all over H&M, Mango, and other popular retailers right now: leather trench coats.

Priced at $129, one of H&M‘s versions looks triple the price. I also found plenty of other stylish options for your shopping pleasure. As far as styling goes, the options are truly endless. Try pairing your leather trench coat with a silky slip dress for a fun mixed-material look, or simply throw it on over your favorite jeans-and-tee outfit. Scroll down to shop my favorites.

Versace has had a busy week. First, the brand showed its S/S 24 collection in Milan, featuring the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Natalia Bryant, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid on the runway. Next, the brand decamped to New York City for its inaugural Versace Icons dinner hosted by Anne Hathaway. And finally, Versace sponsored last night’s Albie Awards hosted by Amal and George Clooney. Phew! I can hardly keep up.

At the Versace Icons dinner, Cindy Crawford‘s outfit immediately stuck out to me. She made jeans look exceptionally chic for a night out—are you taking notes yet? Specifically, she wore wide-leg jeans, which have been much more popular than skinnies with celebrities lately. Scroll down to see her new outfit and re-create it for yourself.

We might be in the middle of Paris Fashion Week, but that didn’t stop an A-list crowd from attending tonight’s Albie Awards in New York City. “The awards—named after Justice Albie Sachs for his seminal role in ending apartheid in South Africa—aim to shine a spotlight on brave individuals who, at great personal risk, have devoted their lives to justice,” the Clooney Foundation’s website explains.

Wearing a shimmering white Versace dress, Amal Clooney looked like she could be walking down the aisle tonight. Her wedding-worthy gown was complemented perfectly by George’s sleek suit and bow tie. Other well-dressed celebrities in attendance included Anne Hathaway, Viola Davis, Mary J. When I see two different style icons wearing the same trend days apart from each other, you can bet my interest is piqued. Both Amal Clooney and Pamela Anderson stepped out in long beige trench coats this week, reigniting my love affair with the wardrobe classic.

Trench coats are the quintessential fall fashion staple, seamlessly blending style and functionality. Originally designed for military use during World War I, trench coats have evolved into a wardrobe must-have. Their enduring appeal lies in their versatility, making them perfect for the transitional season. Often equipped with water-resistant fabrics and double-breasted closures, trench coats provide chic protection against unpredictable autumn showers. Whether you style one over a casual sweater and jeans or a formal ensemble, you really can’t go wrong with a trench coat. Scroll down to see how both women style the fall staple.

  • Selena Gomez Wore Fall’s Most Anti-Quiet Luxury Boot Trend in Paris

Selena Gomez Wore Fall’s Most Anti-Quiet Luxury Boot Trend in Paris

    [ad_1]

When we look back at what defined fashion in 2023, it will undoubtedly be the quiet luxury aesthetic that has seemingly permeated every aspect of fashion. But as the end of the year nears, there are signs that people also just want to have fun with fashion. One person that’s been displaying that as of late is Selena Gomez.

Gomez is currently in Paris for Paris Fashion Week, and some of her looks have been far more “maximalist” than “quiet luxury”. While many of the fall 2023 shoe trends are understated and elegant (think riding boots and slingback flats), Gomez opted to wear the least quiet luxury shoe trend of them all to go to a restaurant last night. That trend is snakeskin boots. For context, Khaite can be credited with reviving the snakeskin trend with its python-studded S/S 23 collection. Ever since then, the fashion crowd has been enamored.

In Paris, Gomez wore a pair of thigh-high Stuart Weitzman boots, keeping the rest of the outfit simple with a white button-down and corset and denim miniskirt. It’s a look that’s easy to replicate with the right tools—the most important one being the snakeskin boots. Given that, scroll on to shop some of the best pairs on the internet.

Happy fashion month! I hope you’ve been enjoying our coverage as much as I have. So far, my colleagues have dissected the only Milan runway trends you need to know, the elite street style outfits from London, the top-tier runway looks from NYC, and much more. As for me, I decided to do a little compare-and-contrast exercise with the newest street style photos from Milan and Paris.

So how is the fashion set dressing differently in each city this season? For starters, Milan showgoers heavily favored baggy pants and jeans, while Paris attendees largely went with straighter-leg and more tailored styles. Scroll down to see examples of how the two cities differ right now.

  • H&M’s Chicest Collection of the Year Just Dropped—17 Items I Know Will Sell Out

H&M’s Chicest Collection of the Year Just Dropped—17 Items I Know Will Sell Out

    [ad_1]

Roughly three months ago, I walked into top-secret H&M territory in a lofted space in New York City to preview the fashion brand’s fall/winter 2023 Studio collection with the strict order to keep everything I saw there under wraps until its far-off launch date. Today, that date doesn’t feel so far away, probably because it’s happening right now. Finally, after months of letting the collection—H&M’s most design-driven of the year—stew inside my brain with no outlet in sight, I’m allowed to not only share its existence, but give all of my fellow fans of the brand the opportunity to buy pieces from it.

From slinky slip dresses to almost gothic velvet separates, this collection features a little bit of something for every variety of dresser and mood, with my all-time favorite piece arriving in the form of a patent-leather midi column skirt that Stockholm-based Ann-Sofie Johansson, the brand’s head of design and creative adviser, wore to the early-summer preview. Specifically, the line was meant to evoke different horror-movie heroines, according to Linda Wikell, the concept designer at H&M Studio, thus the silk, leather, and velvet, not to mention the heavy influence of black and abundance of delicate lace. Sound alluring? I thought it might.

Before everything sells out like it does every time H&M launches a new Studio collection, get to shopping below.

This Brand Was a Scandi-Girl Secret Until Kendall Jenner Wore It

As lovers of Scandinavian fashion, we can’t help but get excited when an American A-lister puts one of our favorite brands on the map stateside. Yes, Scandi folks have known about the Skall Studio, the women’s ready-to-wear fashion and accessories brand, for ages. But, thanks to a recent rainy day sighting, we can thank Kendall Jenner for directing the spotlight on this Copenhagen-based designer.

Celebrated for its smart, functional outerwear, highest-quality knits, and capsule-wardrobe-like offerings, Skall Studio is known as a value-based brand, striving to make a difference in the fashion industry by emphasizing the use of natural materials, while also excluding fur or leather from its collections. • Selena Gomez Went Pantsless in the Boldest Boot Trend of the Season

Selena Gomez Went Pantsless in the Boldest Boot Trend of the Season

    [ad_1]

Leave it to Selena Gomez to pull off the best Risky Business outfit before it’s even October. The “Only Murders in the Building” actress shared a mirror selfie from her hotel room, showing off her legs in a pair of statuesque stiletto over-the-knee boots and a fitted white shirt dress.

Styled by Erin Walsh, the outfit is almost deceptively simple—just the shirt and boots, no pants—but made for excellent evening attire with the addition of some simple, everyday gold jewelry from Gomez’s favorite designers.

While the pantsless look isn’t for everyone, this outfit illustrates the importance of choosing the right proportions from head to toe. A loose-fitting button-down shirt paired with just socks and sunglasses is very Tom Cruise circa 1983, but amp up the volume on top, and cover up some leg with a stunning pair of boots, and suddenly, you’re so 2023.

Ahead, check out a few of our favorite white button-downs and some seriously chic over-the-knee boots that can be worn to recreate Gomez’s eye-catching outfit. And, if you want to repurpose the shirt for Halloween, it makes for a great last-minute costume, too.

In case you aren’t on the same side of TikTok as I am, there’s a trend going on where people tell their significant other that Taylor Swift put Travis Kelce on the map, explaining that no one knew who he was before news broke that the pair were dating. As you might imagine, exasperation ensued, with sports fans quickly coming to Kelce’s defense and arguing that he’s the “best tight end in the NFL.”

Considering I’ve been a fashion editor for ten years and I’ve never written about a football player until now, it’s safe to say Swift has indeed put Kelce on the map—the fashion map, at least. • Jenna Lyons on Joining the RHONY Cast and Running Her Own Beauty Brand

Jenna Lyons on Joining the RHONY Cast and Running Her Own Beauty Brand

    [ad_1]

Can you tell me about some of the most significant lessons that you’ve learned? I feel like this has got to have its own level of learning curve.

I think the biggest thing is I grew up in a world where you were touching things. It was a physical experience, primarily.

Even though you could order online, we had many stores. There was an opportunity for the customer to go in and touch—and they wanted to.

I learned business that way. I learned in a totally different era. Now, everything is visually online.

My biggest mistake was the packaging. The very first iteration of the packaging, I have this glossy L on the outside.

When you hold it up in front of a camera, you can’t see it. It was very subtle. I thought it was very chic, and no one knows what the hell it is.

I think the other really big mistake I made is I got the team way too big too fast. I came from a world where everyone’s job was very specific.

We thought we were gonna go quickly—we also then got slammed with the pandemic—and so we had to really downsize the team.

When you start doing that, when people have really specific jobs, all the sudden you’re looking at people and a lot of us didn’t know what we were doing— myself included.

That was really a huge learning curve to understand. People who have come up in a small business have a totally different mental and capacity for flexing and bending and doing other things.

Whereas people who come from a very specific role, it’s harder. Not because of any fault of their own, it’s just they’re just not used to it.

So you’re asking someone to do something they may not necessarily feel comfortable with. I also didn’t necessarily know how to direct.

I could spend an hour talking about all the mistakes I made.
