  • ATP Flight School to Award $15,000 of Type Rating and ATP CTP Training to Alumni Each Quarter

    [ad_1]

ATP Flight School is launching a new initiative to provide eligible alumni with free Airbus A320 type rating programs and Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Programs (ATP CTP). Each quarter, ATP alumni will have the opportunity to be randomly selected to receive one of these training programs, free of charge, to help advance their careers. With its Part 142 airline training center, ATP is one of the few flight schools in the nation with the capability of providing this advanced training to its alumni, and to do so at no cost.

With over 25,000 graduates, ATP JETS is the largest provider of ATP CTP training in the nation. Facilities in Dallas and Orlando, frequent class start dates, and a convenient Virtual Instructor-Led Training option have made ATP JETS the preferred ATP CTP provider for many of the nation’s regional carriers. Major airlines also choose ATP JETS’ type rating and carefully tailored jet transition programs to provide direct pilot pathways for ATP graduates at 1,500 hours.

Each quarter, beginning in March 2025, ATP graduates will have the opportunity to be selected for free advanced training, with one alum eligible for the ATP CTP at JETS (valued at $4,295) and one active ATP instructor eligible for the Airbus A320 type rating program (valued at $10,850). The entire cost of these programs will be paid for by ATP.

“ATP is deeply committed to the success of alumni, and what many may not realize is the substantial financial investment we make to continue supporting our students long after they graduate,” said Michael Arnold, Vice President of Marketing, ATP Flight School. “Through the no-cost, no-fee Alumni Association, ATP has saved alumni over $750,000 dollars by covering the cost of their Flight Instructor Refresher Course through King Schools. ATP is proud to add to this investment by giving graduates a unique opportunity to gain the competitive edge and advance their qualifications by providing up to $15,000 of training for free.”

After completing the Airline Career Pilot Program, ATP alumni and instructors gain access to a comprehensive suite of career development resources. These include job placement assistance, resume services, 38 airline hiring partnerships, exclusive discounts, access to networking events, airline-sponsored tuition reimbursement, and more. The addition of the free type rating and ATP CTP offering further underscores the value of being an ATP graduate, providing an exclusive opportunity to enhance qualifications and stand out as highly professional and qualified pilot applicants.

ATP alumni can learn more through the ATP Alumni Association at ATPAlumni.org.

    [ad_1]

Dallas-based ATP JETS has graduated its 20,000th Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP CTP) student. Training nearly 500 pilots per month at its 29,380 sq. ft Part 142 airline training center in Irving, TX, ATP JETS has scaled to become the largest provider of CTP training to the nation’s airlines.

Nearly 50% of all new hire airline pilots attend ATP JETS for their CTP training, sponsored by their airline. Since first offering the program in 2015, ATP JETS has been trusted by 57 air carriers to deliver this FAA-required training through a commitment to providing airlines with the most professional, flexible, cost-effective training solution possible. Recently, ATP JETS became the first in the nation approved to deliver Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) for the ground school portion of the program. This innovative approach not only saves airline partners thousands in travel and hotel logistics but also provides students with a better learning experience while delivering the same proven training effectiveness.

Beyond ATP CTP training, airlines rely on ATP JETS’ advanced training capabilities to provide fully tailored programs and recruitment solutions. Press Release

    Dec 12, 2022 09:00 MST

AeroGuard is thrilled to announce that AeroGuard Flight Training Center has been selected by Arizona State University to provide flight training services to ASU students enrolled in the B.S. in Aeronautical Management Technology (Professional Flight) degree program. Within this agreement, AeroGuard will train future commercial airline pilots with zero prior flight experience to earn their Commercial Pilot License and beyond, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and a clear path to the in-demand career of becoming a professional commercial airline pilot.

AeroGuard Flight Training Center is an Arizona-based company with over 20 years of experience training over 7,000 professional airline pilots from across the world. AeroGuard is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Deer Valley Airport, with a second location in the Phoenix area at Chandler Municipal Airport, with additional locations in Texas and Florida. Both Arizona training campuses will be available for ASU students to train from as part of this agreement.

AeroGuard provides flight training to student pilots looking for careers with commercial airlines through a specially designed FAA-approved curriculum, supporting training environment, processes and procedures that prepare students for life as a professional aviator. AeroGuard’s proprietary training structure is beneficial for quickly and effectively graduating student pilots at a crucial time for an aviation industry facing a challenging pilot shortage.

Boeing has forecasted that over 600,000 new pilots are necessary over the next 20 years to keep the commercial airlines operating at capacity. This growth is driven by both an increase in air travel, expected to more than double in that time, as well as an FAA-mandated retirement age of 65 requiring a majority of current airline pilots to leave the industry in the next few years. A huge demand for well-trained pilots has led to pay increases in excess of 90%, along with signing bonuses and other attractive benefits.

“AeroGuard is incredibly excited to announce our new partnership with Arizona State University! We have a long history of training future airline pilots and equipping them with the skills they need to have long, successful careers in the commercial airline industry. Through this partnership with ASU, we are excited to bring our same high-quality, safety-focused training to more students who are pursuing training alongside a university degree,” said Joel Davidson, CEO of AeroGuard.

Gregory Files, program lead for the B.S. in Aeronautical Management Technology (Professional Flight) degree program and assistant teaching professor within ASU’s aviation programs, said, “We are excited to select and partner with AeroGuard Flight Training Center as we continue to grow our Professional Flight Program. AeroGuard is globally recognized for their training quality and is one of the largest flight schools in the U.S. Because AeroGuard is based in Arizona, ASU finds AeroGuard uniquely qualified as experts in the local region and airspace. AeroGuard brings a high quality of training to our program that we hope will benefit students for years to come as they transition to their future careers in aviation.”

The ASU B.S. in Aeronautical Management Technology (Professional Flight) has over 250 enrolled students completing their practical pilot training and supporting coursework at ASU’s Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Arizona. This degree allows students to complete their Private, Instrument and Commercial Single and Multi-Engine Ratings, as well as optional Flight Instructor Certificates. With approval from the FAA, graduates are qualified for the Restricted-ATP at 1,000 flight hours, helping them advance more quickly to their careers compared with other pilots requiring over 1,500 hours of experience.

AeroGuard will begin training ASU students immediately at their current Arizona campus locations, with more students starting in this upcoming Spring Semester. These students will train alongside AeroGuard’s current Pilot Pathway Program and International students completing accelerated flight training courses on a similar path to become professional pilots.

ATP Flight School Adds 500th Aircraft to Fleet With Delivery of New Cessna Skyhawks

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Nov 18, 2022 10:30 EST

On Thursday, ATP Flight School took delivery of five new Cessna Skyhawks and surpassed the fleet milestone of 500 aircraft. Each new plane brings ATP students a state-of-art training platform with Garmin’s G1000 NXi Integrated Flight Deck. The Skyhawks join the 86 new aircraft ATP has taken delivery of since 2020 and will be used exclusively for airline pilot training and career development.

ATP’s investment in new aircraft is paired with equal investment in flight safety and monitoring. ATP recently completed a 40% expansion of its operations center in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, to accommodate growing safety and quality assurance teams. To support the safe operation of 500 aircraft, ATP’s safety department integrates an airline-based Safety Management System (SMS) and provides Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) through real-time oversight of all training flights using ADS-B technology.

“Reaching the milestone of a 500 aircraft fleet is significant, not just in scale, but for the operational support required to provide a safe and dependable training environment for our students,” said Michael Arnold, Director of Marketing, ATP Flight School. “The capabilities and advancement of ATP’s flight operations center mirror that of airlines, with maintenance, flight operations, flight safety, flight standards, and quality assurance teams working in unison to promote a high level of safety and support for our students. The milestone of 500 planes is only made possible through the commitment each ATP team member has to the training success of our students and providing a reliable state-of-art fleet operated in a safety-focused environment.”

As the leading provider of new hire airline pilots, ATP’s fleet expansion will increase capacity to graduate 20,000 airline pilots by 2030. Deliveries of an additional 85 new aircraft are scheduled throughout 2023 and 2024.

AeroGuard has partnered with SkyWest Airlines for the past five years, and as part of that relationship, their Pilot Pathway Program has offered a clear path for students to build their flight experience and join SkyWest Airlines with a guaranteed First Officer interview and Tuition Reimbursement.

Now, as the demand for pilots increases, SkyWest Airlines has announced agreements with the four major airlines such that SkyWest Captains of two years can receive Guaranteed Pilot Interviews with each of them.

This means that from the moment a student joins AeroGuard Flight Training Center, with no necessary prior experience, their path to become an airline pilot at four different major airlines is clear and predictable.

After completing the program as a student, with 7 FAA Ratings and Certificates, AeroGuard Graduates are offered a Guaranteed Interview for a Flight Instructor position with AeroGuard to build their flight experience to the required minimum, typically 1,500 hours, while earning a salary and benefits.

After these pilots have gained the required flight time, which typically takes about 2.5 years from their start as a student, they are then guaranteed a First Officer Final Interview with SkyWest Airlines, where following acceptance and completion of Initial Operating Experience, they will also receive a Tuition Reimbursement of $17,500.

Now SkyWest Airlines has announced Guaranteed Pilot Interviews with Delta, United, Alaska, and most recently Southwest Airlines, for pilots to upgrade to captain for a two-year period. This makes the full career path from student pilot to premier regional, to Major Airline clear at every step.

Since the COVID Pandemic, demand for air travel is exceptionally high, and there has never been a better time to become a pilot. This program with AeroGuard and SkyWest is unique in offering pilots a choice of four major airlines and providing the pilot control over their career and timeline.

AeroGuard Flight Training Center has four locations nationwide and focuses on developing future airline pilots through a high-quality curriculum, accelerated training and professional training environment.

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Mar 18, 2022

The Spirit Charitable Foundation and ATP Flight School, on behalf of the ATP Alumni Association, have awarded a $20,000 training scholarship to an aspiring airline pilot, Kayce Sorbello, during the 2022 International Women in Aviation Conference.

Originally from St. Louis, Kayce Sorbello started her journey towards becoming a professional pilot in August 2021 at ATP’s Raleigh-Durham location. A driven female aviator, Kayce overcame childhood struggles and hardships to pursue her passion for aviation, becoming the first pilot in her family. During college, she uncovered her second passion – humanitarian aid – while working with two community-based projects in Uganda and Sierra Leone. “I have every intention of using my skills in aviation to benefit others,” said Kayce. “While my current goal is to spend a majority of my career as an airline pilot, I also hope to maintain proficiency in general aviation and volunteer with organizations that are dedicated to supporting both domestic and international communities in need.” Having earned her commercial pilot certificate in February, Kayce is nearly complete with the Airline Career Pilot Program and is now at ATP’s CFI Academy training to become a flight instructor.

“Kayce represents the best of the aviation community, whose story, determination, and drive to help others will be an inspiration to many young females aspiring to follow in her steps,” said Chris Carey, Director of the ATP Alumni Association. “It is an honor to partner with the Spirit Charitable Foundation and present this scholarship to Kayce on behalf of the ATP Alumni Association.”

“Being able to contribute to the growth of aspiring female pilots like Kayce is at the heart of our mission to invest in education,” said Lania Rittenhouse, President of The Spirit Charitable Foundation and Vice President of Guest Experience & Brand for Spirit Airlines. “Kayce’s resilience is an inspiration to all of us, and we’re honored to be partnering with the ATP Alumni Association to help advance her career, which we’re confident will be a meaningful one.”

ATP Flight School Purchases 20 Flight Simulators (AATDs) From Frasca to Support Airline Pilot Training

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Mar 14, 2022

ATP Flight School has announced the purchase of 20 Flight Simulators, specifically Advanced Aircraft Training Devices (AATDs), from Frasca Flight Simulation. Carrying a list price of six million dollars, the FAA-approved AATDs will be used exclusively in ATP’s Airline Career Pilot Program to train the next generation of airline pilots.

ATP pioneered accelerated airline pilot training in 1984 and, since then, has continued investing in new technology to lead industry performance and provide efficient training that develops professional airline pilots. The purchase of 20 simulators from Frasca represents the next evolution of that mission, as ATP expands its fleet of simulators, making it possible to introduce students to foundational skills in a safe and controlled environment. This airline-oriented approach increases proficiency and maximizes the time spent learning in the aircraft.

Each device features an accurate physical representation of either a Piper Archer or Cessna Skyhawk flight deck, with 220° wrap-around visuals surrounding the student. Inside, actual Garmin G1000 avionics mirror the identically equipped Archers and Skyhawks in ATP’s fleet, including the 40-plus new aircraft ATP has on order. Active control loading is paired with modeled flight data to replicate the aerodynamics and control feedback of the actual aircraft. This industry-leading fidelity and realism allow for a more impactful transfer of learning and skill from the simulator to the airplane, increasing the effectiveness of training.

“Key to providing the most efficient path to a successful airline pilot career is investing in new technologies and resources that allow ATP students to train more effectively and safely,” said Michael Arnold, Director of Marketing, ATP Flight School. “Investing in these state-of-art AATDs increases safety during the initial stages of training and will allow students to gain proficiency in fundamental skills on the ground to maximize their time in the air.”

“Frasca and ATP have been partners for many years. These 20 new Frasca FTD’s for the C172 and Archer will support ATP’s training programs with the most technically advanced and realistic flight simulation available. This will ensure a maximum transfer of learning and contribute to increased safety,” stated John Frasca, President of Frasca International, Inc.

ATP operates 450 aircraft and 130 simulators across 70 locations, including an existing fleet of Level 5 and 6 flight training devices. Deliveries of the new Frasca simulators will begin at the end of the second quarter and continue through year-end.

AeroGuard Flight Training Center Aims to Solve Pilot Shortage With New Reduced Hours Course

    [ad_1]

The Newly Approved Course Saves Aspiring Pilots Expense and Timeline In Flight Training

    Press Release

    Mar 10, 2022

AeroGuard Flight Training Center is excited to announce its new FAA-Approved Reduced Hours Commercial Pilot Course, focused on saving aspiring future commercial pilots time and expense in their training.

This new course, developed in-house at AeroGuard by its team of expert flight instructors, has been specially reviewed and approved by the FAA, meeting the same high-quality standards in a lower number of flight hours than is typically necessary for a commercially rated pilot.

As part of Commercial Pilot training, the FAA sets certain flight-hour requirements, and for students training in a Part 61 setting, which is typically less structured, this is 250 hours of total flight and simulator time. In a more structured Part 141 environment, these hours are decreased to a total of 220.

AeroGuard’s new Reduced Hours course has been approved at 165 total hours, meaning that students can complete the program in up to 35% fewer total hours and 25% fewer flight-hours, providing significant time and cost savings compared with other courses or other top flight schools.

This FAA approval is based on a complete review of the AeroGuard curriculum, as well as the training environment, supporting processes, and AeroGuard personnel, requiring all areas to meet the highest quality standards.

With the Pilot Shortage in full effect, and airlines looking to quickly fill their staffing needs with highly trained pilots, this course will provide huge benefits to airlines as well as students.

AeroGuard is partnered with SkyWest Airlines, the largest U.S. regional carrier, flying under the flags of American, United, Delta and Alaska Airlines. Under this partnership, SkyWest offers AeroGuard students a Guaranteed First Officer Final Interview, and a Tuition Reimbursement following Initial Operating Experience.

AeroGuard Flight Training Center has four campuses nationwide in Arizona, Texas, and Florida. Each located in areas with ideal flight training conditions, including weather and local airspace complexity.

This new course is available at most AeroGuard locations for students that join with zero prior flight experience.

Alongside this course rollout, AeroGuard will also implement a change to its pricing to allow students to take full advantage of the reduced hour requirement.

  • AeroGuard Flight Training Center Receives FAA Diamond Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

AeroGuard Flight Training Center Receives FAA Diamond Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Feb 8, 2022

AeroGuard Flight Training Center has again been honored by the FAA, receiving the AMT Diamond Award program for 2021, its fourth consecutive year, further securing its place as one of the top pilot training schools in the U.S.

The nationwide flight school with headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, is the recipient of the FAA Award of Excellence for its commitment to aircraft maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance. At a time when airlines are eagerly hiring pilots in large amount to keep up with the post-pandemic travel recovery, AeroGuard understands the importance of focusing on safety and quality that will help its students gain long and successful careers.

AeroGuard’s goal in the flight training industry is to “Set a Higher Standard” for its students, going beyond competitors in the industry, and this award is proof of just that. The Diamond Award requires that 100% of all mechanics, repair staff and technicians earn the AMT Certificate of Training in 2021, surpassing the FAA regulatory requirements with additional education in specialized components.

The team of 40+ technicians expertly maintains a fleet of over 70 aircraft in order to accommodate hundreds of pilot program graduates each year across its four U.S. campus locations by working around the clock to meet the needs of a growing student population.

Shawn Rockey, Director of Maintenance, credits the maintenance team’s resilience and professionalism during a turbulent year of enhanced safety protocols by noting, “The FAA Diamond award is evidence that our maintenance team demonstrates the highest caliber of integrity and dedication to safety possible. The AeroGuard team continually goes the extra mile to serve our students, including availability of aircraft to keep their training on track.”

Safety is the highest priority in the aviation industry and, with so many student pilots passing through the doors each year, AeroGuard is leading the way to success by investing in its maintenance personnel, who ensure the fleet is flight-ready for students to quickly progress through their training.

Participation in the AMT Award program is voluntary and not required by the FAA or any governing bodies, but AeroGuard sees it as a standard operating procedure, with CEO Joel Davidson adding, “We have a duty to our students to provide exceptional training in the safest, most responsible manner possible. Each student’s success is determined by our ability to maintain our aircraft quickly and safely for daily operations. We are proud to be recognized once again for our commitment to excellence. “

With the ongoing shortage of trained commercial pilots, major airlines are rapidly hiring cadets and this rate of training increases graduation speed to give students a head start on a path to a very lucrative career.

AeroGuard’s Pilot Pathway Program, now available in Austin, Texas, is offered in partnership with SkyWest Airlines, which also provides a tuition reimbursement incentive to its graduates.
