Square Enix has released another trailer for the upcoming compendium game Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis (). This trailer, following the mobile-optimized active time battle combat system showcase and crafting and summons trailer, Square Enix released the “Countdown to Launch” trailer for the game. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis launches in under a week worldwide, and today’s trailer looks Sephiroth’s backstory. This is easily the best trailer yet, and I’m curious to see how Square Enix fleshes Sephiroth’s origins here. Watch the new trailer below:

Barring young Sepiroth here looking like Christie from Dead or Alive, I’m very impressed with the music and cut-scene work. I just hope the gameplay delivers when it arrives on Septmeber 7th worldwide. Square Enix just announced that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis () will release on September 7th worldwide for iOS and Android. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will be a compendium-type mobile game that aims to cover the complete Final Fantasy VII story across spin-offs, mainline games, and other media. Following its early 2021 reveal, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will launch next month after a closed beta and more. We even had a big showcase for it at Summer Game Fest this June with an Android beta.
