  • TD Bank Head of Analytics, Intelligence, AI Ted Paris to speak at FinAi Banking Summit

    Ted Paris, head of analytics, intelligence and AI at TD Bank, will speak Monday, March 2, at the FinAi Banking Summit.  

    The summit, which will be held at the Westin Denver Downtown, brings together executives, technologists and decision-makers across the FinAi ecosystem.

    Paris is responsible for leading, developing and advancing the analytics strategy for TD’s U.S. division. Prior to joining TD in 2016, Paris worked at Essex Lake GroupBarclays and Citi, among other institutions. 

    He will join the following panelists to discuss the future of financial services in the age of AI at FinAi Banking Summit:  

    • Kevin Green, chief marketing officer, Hapax. 

    In January 2025, TD’s Chief Analytics and AI Officer Luke Gee told FinAi News the bank is deploying AI for software development and customer assistance.  

    The bank last year deployed its AI-driven platform TD AI Prism to predict consumer needs and proactively provide them with solutions, Sumee Seetharaman, head of AI machine learnings, told FinAi News.

  • J.P. Morgan Payments’ Matthew McCown to speak at FinAi Banking Summit

    McCown will speak on the panel “AI strategy at scale: Lessons from global banks” at 11 a.m. local time. He will be joined by Prageeth Sandakalum, vice president and principal product manager for digital, data and AI at U.S. Bank. 

    During the session, panelists will discuss:  

    • Aligning technology with business strategy; and 
    • Developing data-driven products at scale. 

    McCown joined J.P. Morgan in 2018 and has since held several roles within payments data and analytics where he leads the team of product analysts, data scientists and technologists.  

    J.P. Morgan ranked first across innovation, leadership and transparency in think tank Evident AI’s 2025 Evident AI Index released in October.  

    “We are proud to be recognized once again as a leader in leveraging AI for the benefit of our employees, clients and communities,” Chief Data and Analytics Officer Teresa Heitsenrether said in an October statement. 

    The $4 trillion bank’s AI efforts include the October rollout of its AI-driven LLM Suite, which has led to quantifiable efficiency gains.

    Lachman will speak on the panel “Gen AI in the ring: Fight against fraud” on Tuesday, March 3, at 1:15 p.m. local time. He joins Austin Capital Bank founder and Chief Executive Erik Beguin on the panel.  

    During the session, panelists will address: 

    • Identifying gen AI-driven fraud; 
    • How to fight advanced threats with emerging technology; and 
    • Enhancing AML, fraud prevention and regulatory reporting.  

    The $62 billion Valley Bank has been investing in anti-money laundering capabilities, including the use of an AI AML agent from digital solutions provider WorkFusion, FinAi News previously reported. In January, the bank credited the agent for a 65% reduction in false positives.  

    Lachman joined the Morristown, N.J.-based bank in 2024. Previously he was vice president of data platform solutions at BNY Pershing and data analytics manager at Fulton Bank.

  • Austin Capital Bank CEO Beguin to speak at FinAi Banking Summit

    Austin Capital Bank co-founder and Chief Executive Erik Beguin will speak at the inaugural FinAi Banking Summit in Denver on March 3, 2026.

    Fraud increased 25% year over year in 2024 to $12.5 billion, according to FTC data.  Beguin and his team work to deploy emerging technology to keep that threat at bay. Austin Capital Bank’s security efforts include the July launch of its Fort Knox High Security Savings Account, which introduces friction to digital banking processes to fight fraud.
