Once Fashion Week has come and gone, it’s time to start plotting our spring wardrobe. We’re in that weird transitional period when I never know if it’s going to feel like winter – or summer – when I step out the door. Thanks to global warming, spring no longer exists.
This weekend was filled with floods in the New York area. This had me scrolling through endless online fashion magazines and adding hundreds of dollars of clothing to my various shopping carts. I rarely hit purchase, but it’s nice to dream.
When it comes to spring 2024 fashion trends, I’d like to welcome back the 60s. Yes, Jackie O’s iconic style – hello tweed skirt suits – is trending. Shift dresses are on every rack and color blocking is back in a major way.
Much like the fashion trends of the 1960s, miniskirts are going to be huge spring and summer trends in 2024. Even better, skorts are going to be lifesavers as the weather heats up.
Fashion icons like Jacqueline Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn ruled the scene, and that’s pretty much cycling back. Mod styles like bright colors and minidresses will also reign this summer.
What I love about spring 2024 womenswear is that it’s hyper-feminine, well-tailored clothing. We’re straying from pants and denim in general, and more towards linens, tweeds, and lighter fabrics.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite fashion trends for spring thus far:
Skirt Suit Sets
I’ve always wanted to feel presidential-adjacent like Jackie O in her smart skirt suit sets a la Chanel. Her incandescent style has inspired generations – Gucci even named a purse after her! Now, the skirt suit is back in action and I’m loving it. Abercrombie is currently killing the game with this one.
Miniskirts
Meet your new best friend: the miniskirt. Pair it with a denim jacket, a crop top, a turtleneck – however you want. Personally, the blazer-and-miniskirt corporate combo kills. This is going to be my go-to this spring.
Play With The Waist
I’ve noticed a lot of drop-waist dresses, or dresses with belts below the hip-line. The goal is to create the illusion of an elongated torso, and it also just gives a fun, sophisticated flare. I like Zara for these 60s inspired dresses with fun waist detailing:
Cowboy Boots
Like I’ve said, if Bella Hadid’s gone country, the world has gone country. All-denim fits are a trending moment, but I’d go with a pair of cowboy boots. Easy to dress up or dress down, these are super fashionable in any season.
The White Dress
White is the color of the season! A scary color to favor if you’re prone to spillage and stains like me. But you’ll see tons of white dresses in stores and online this spring, I prefer linen. The Free People Sunshine Mini Dress is my favorite.
Statement Trench Coat
If you’re looking for a go-to jacket, nothing gives sophistication quite like a long trench coat. You knew it was going to be a trend when Kylie Jenner launched Khy and created the statement leather trench coat.
Midlengths
Toward the end of the 1960s, the world switched from miniskirts to midis and maxis. History sure repeats itself – as does fashion. We’re seeing the rise of midi skirts alongside the mini, because who said we can’t do both?
Messy Boho Chic
The style that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson popularized – the grunge messy look is back – baby. Think oversized button downs, leather boho bags, rocker tees and basics. They will reign supreme this spring.
Cheetah Girls
Hailey and Justin Bieber
BACKGRID
Yes, the mob wife aesthetic will remain a popular trend for the time being. That includes animal prints of all sorts: cheetah, leopard, you name it.
Belts Are Back
Not so long ago it didn’t matter whether or not you were sporting a belt. Now, it’s yet again a fashion staple. No, we aren’t bringing back the classic Gucci double G belt that was all the rage in 2017. It’s more about statement belts, or just your average leather belt to pull together your outfit.
Disco Never Died
Think chrome, sequins, chainlink, and all that glitters. Have some fun with a shiny dress or a pair of chrome pants!
Over the past year, I’ve noticed a major shift in the trend-scape. Sure, we have major fashion trends like Sofia Richie-Grainge’s Old Money style or the consistent popularity of Y2K fashion. But there’s a more persistent trend that has wiggled its way into our fashion, our music, and even our dating choices.
Yes, America’s gone country. It started with the rise in popularity of country music: folk inspired, stomp-and-holler musicians like Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan skyrocketed to superstardom. Luke Combs’ version of “Fast Car” was #1 on the Billboard charts, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time album dominated, and then there are artists like Tyler Childers who are quickly becoming go-to radio favorites.
But, lately, the extensive reach of country spreads far beyond music. It’s in our style: cowboy boots are no longer reserved for your yearly trip to a country concert or for the streets of Nashville. They’re now your go-to for your outfits, a staple in your shoe closet.
The Hills’ Kristin Cavallari recently broke the internet for dating one of TikTok’s famous Montana Boyz. Viral for their good looks and country lip syncing videos, the Montana Boyz are your classic truck-loving, boot-wearing country men. And for one of Los Angeles’ original It Girls, this dating choice seemed a bit unnatural.
Cavallari isn’t the only one who has saddled up and gone country…in fact, our resident It Girl, Bella Hadid is leading the pack. Bella’s always loved horseback riding, but these days we notice she’s been spending a lot of time in Fort Worth, Texas.
Who Is Bella Hadid Dating?
Bella Hadid and boyfriend Adan Banuelos
Bella Hadid via Instagram Stories
Yes, she’s dating Adan Banuelos, a famous professional horseback rider who is a bit of a star in the rodeo world himself. The couple were first spotted in October 2023 shopping, wearing coordinating cowboy boots and denim. From there, Bella Hadid has been a walking poster for all things country.
She’s posted subtle Instagram nods to her relationship with Banuelos, which consists of a lot of equestrian posts. It makes sense, as Hadid was hitting professional horseback riding competitions until she was diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease. She’s remained passionate about horseback riding since, often posting about her horses on social media.
And if Bella Hadid is one thing, it’s a trendsetter. She popularized the UGG platform slippers that sell out the second the weather drops below 60 degrees. She convinces us that we, too, can rock low rise jeans.
So now the entire planet is enraptured by country. We’re all buying the cowboy boots, leaning into our all-denim Canadian tuxedo fits, and streaming Nashville’s finest.
Want to go country just like Bella Hadid? Here’s how to do it.
Bella Hadid’s Country Fits
We all want to dress like Bella Hadid. There’s countless Instagram accounts dedicated to the younger Hadid sister’s closet. The moment she’s photographed outside, the whole world’s trying to figure out what she’s wearing and if they can afford it.
And if they can’t afford it, they’ll dupe it. So I’ve rounded up a few Bella Hadid-inspired country outfits that are just southern enough…but also endlessly versatile pieces that won’t end up in your donation bin a year from now.
Full Denim Fit
I like this look because it’s a chill street style version of your classic all-denim outfit. The sweetheart styled top paired with low-rise baggy jeans is precisely what you need for a timeless look.
Honestly, couldn’t come up with something better myself. A solid denim jacket is tough to come by. I always struggle with going too oversized and swimming in my coat, but this one is the epitome of a staple denim jacket.
It ain’t a trip to the rodeo without your cowboy hat. Bella Hadid somehow makes this look effortlessly chic. Go plain with a black cowboy hat like this one Bella wears.

This post will show you how to dress in the Vanilla Girl aesthetic, with key wardrobe pieces and Vanilla Girl outfit ideas.
If you’ve been on TikTok or Instagram lately, you’ve likely come across another aesthetic sweeping social media: the Vanilla Girl aesthetic.
Are you wondering what it is or how to get this it girl-approved look for yourself?
Welcome to the ultimate Vanilla Girl style guide, with key clothing pieces to add to your wardrobe and the cutest Vanilla Girl outfit ideas.
It’s no surprise to see an overlap with these aesthetics, which have all been ultra-popular on social media in the last few years.
Dressing like a Vanilla Girl is all about being cozy and classic, and involves wearing neutral colors, soft fabrics, and simple silhouettes that aren’t over-the-top. Monochrome outfits are a Vanilla Girl favorite, so long as they feature light, neutral hues like white, cream, heather gray, and beige.
Basics are going to be your best friend, from long-sleeve crew neck tops to yoga pants (yes, these are a key piece in a Vanilla Girl’s wardrobe).
In fact, this aesthetic proves that just because something is a “basic” doesn’t mean it has to be boring — instead, you’ll find just how cute and versatile basics can be when styled in the Vanilla Girl aesthetic.
There is an effortless vibe to the Vanilla Girl, so her accessories tend to be on the minimal side, and she wears her hair in easy hairstyles that don’t require a lot of effort, using claw clips and stretchy headbands.
And to be a true Vanilla Girl, you’ll also want to smell like… you guessed it, vanilla! Don’t forget to spritz on a vanilla-scented perfume or body spray, and swipe on some vanilla lip balm to embody the aesthetic to the fullest.
Essential Pieces for a Vanilla Girl Wardrobe
Let’s break down exactly what you’ll need to dress like a Vanilla Girl. These are the essential items to add to your wardrobe to create Vanilla Girl outfits on a budget.
Vanilla Girl Tops
Oversized Sweaters
Oversized sweaters and cardigans are Vanilla Girl must-haves. They are equal parts cozy and cute, which is what the aesthetic is all about.
The key is to opt for knitwear that is in neutral or light colors like white, gray, and beige, and only go for prints that are classic, like stripes or Americana themes.
Button-Down Shirts
Every girl needs a classic button-down shirt in her wardrobe, even a Vanilla Girl.
This timeless item can be worn alone or layered with other items, making it ultra versatile. For example, wear it over a simple tank top or wear it under an oversized sweater with the collar sticking out.
In addition to solid white, you can also wear striped button-downs, especially in neutral and light blue hues.
Basic Tops
Basics are essential for a reason, and while they may not be the most *exciting* fashion choice, they are the most practical and versatile.
Luckily, the Vanilla Girl aesthetic embraces basics, so rather than spending money on a ton of ultra-trendy items that you’ll only wear a couple of times, invest in simple tops that you’ll be able to wear over and over.
These can include crewneck short and long-sleeve tops, plain tank tops, and camisoles in light solid colors.
If you opt for tops with a print, go for something subtle like a dainty, light-colored floral print, classic stripes, or anything that has a preppy, Old Money feel.
Vanilla Girl Bottoms
Fold-Over Waist Flared Pants
Comfort is key to a Vanilla Girl, and yoga pants are a staple when it comes to everyday dressing. Look for styles with a fold-over waistband and flared or bootleg silhouette made of soft, stretchy fabric.
While black yoga pants are always an option, opt for a lighter hue like heather gray to get the true Vanilla Girl look. These pants are perfect for pairing with sneakers like Adidas Sambas or Ugg boots or slippers for a cozy vibe.
Light Wash Jeans
Everyone needs a staple pair of jeans in their wardrobe, and Vanilla Girls prefer light-wash denim with a relaxed fit. This type of denim looks good with just about everything, including basic tops and oversized sweaters, making these jeans a solid investment.
In the summer, swap these out for some denim shorts instead.
Beige Wide-Leg Trouser Pants
For a dressier look, you can’t go wrong with some beige trouser pants. This classy item checks all the boxes: a neutral color, a classic style, and a relaxed, loose fit.
A Vanilla Girl would style these with some neutral-colored sneakers like New Balance 530s for a more casual vibe (whereas an Old Money girl might opt for pumps or loafers).
Outerwear
Trench Coat
It doesn’t get more classic than a tan trench coat, which is one of the most chic outerwear options to wear during the spring and fall seasons.
You’ll be able to wear a trench coat for years to come, and its neutral tan color means it matches with just about everything else in your closet.
Teddy Sherpa Jacket
For colder weather, go for a light-colored teddy sherpa jacket. What could be cozier?!
A soft, fuzzy jacket like this is going to keep you nice and warm, and will add a cozy touch to your outfits in true Vanilla Girl style.
Vanilla Girl Shoes
White Low-Top Sneakers
No wardrobe is complete without a pair of white low-top sneakers, and this season, Adidas Sambas are the ultimate pick. These sneakers are basic yet on-trend, making them a total must-have.
In addition to Sambas, consider neutral-colored sneakers by New Balance and Reebok, which will look just as great with all of your Vanilla Girl looks.
Ugg Ultra Mini Platform Boots
Vanilla Girls love Uggs, especially the Ultra Mini styles (including platform boots) and slippers like the Tazz. That’s because this aesthetic embraces comfort and coziness, and these shearling-lined shoes are the definition of that!
Vanilla Girl Accessories
Dainty Gold Jewelry
When it comes to accessories, you don’t want anything too loud or over-the-top — keep it simple with some dainty gold jewelry that you can wear on a daily basis.
Pieces like small gold hoop earrings and layered gold necklaces will make your Vanilla Girl outfits look especially put-together and add just the right amount of shine.
Canvas Tote Bag
A canvas tote bag is the ultimate mix of classic and casual, making it the perfect choice for a Vanilla Girl. And it doesn’t get more classic than an L.L. Bean canvas tote bag, which has been around since 1944!
With plenty of strap colors to choose from, customizable options, and an affordable price tag, this timeless bag is going to complement all of your Vanilla Girl aesthetic outfits to a tee (and makes for a great school bag, too).
Stretchy Headband
Vanilla Girls are masters of looking effortless, so intricate, time-consuming hairstyles are not the vibe.
Instead, look to hair accessories like stretchy headbands, scrunchies, and hair claw clips for easy ways to wear your hair that will take no time at all and look totally adorable.
Vanilla Beauty Products
They’re called Vanilla Girls for a reason! Really *embody* the aesthetic with vanilla-scented beauty products, including body and hair mist, perfumes, and lip balms.
Vanilla Girl Outfits
Now for some outfit inspo! These Vanilla Girl outfits are cute, cozy, and right on-trend, featuring light color palettes, comfy silhouettes, and soft fabrics.
Vanilla Girl Outfit #1
Talk about cozy yet cute. This neutral Vanilla Girl outfit is perfect for the spring season, whether you’re running errands, heading to class, or hanging out with friends outdoors.
Loose-fitting pants are a Vanilla Girl staple, and in the spring and summer, it doesn’t get better than linen pants with a relaxed fit. These white linen wide-leg pants look chic but are actually comfortable (they even have an adjustable drawcord waist), and can be worn with some easy-going Birkenstock clogs or slide sandals.
Throw on a cable knit sweater with an oversized fit like this American flag sweater which has a preppy vibe; you can also wear this tied around your shoulders on a warmer day.
Accessorize the look with a classic-looking canvas tote bag, tortoise print oval-shaped sunglasses —and don’t forget some vanilla lip butter balm!
Vanilla Girl Outfit #2
Vanilla Girls know that being comfy is key, which is why they love wearing loungewear like some stretchy flared yoga pants in light hues like heather gray.
These pants come in a convenient 2-piece set along with a matching long-sleeve basic top, giving you an instant monochromatic look, which is a Vanilla Girl signature.
Wear the set with sneakers like some trendy Adidas Sambas, and throw on a neutral-colored puffer vest if it’s a bit chilly outside.
Since this look has a bit of a sporty feel, be sure to add in some girly accessories like a hair bow clip and a cute heart locket necklace to keep it soft and feminine. This effortless look would be ideal for a day of classes or studying at the library, so grab your backpack, too.
Vanilla Girl Outfit #3
Neutrals, neutrals, neutrals! Nothing says “Vanilla Girl” like a head-to-toe neutral outfit, and this one is casual yet perfectly put-together.
Start with a basic white t-shirt and wear an oatmeal-colored cardigan sweater over top, along with some loose-fitting cream-colored jeans. We still want to keep it cozy and laid-back, which is why some Ugg Tazz platform slippers are a Vanilla Girl favorite.
Bring the ensemble together with delicate gold-tone jewelry and accessories like some metal rectangle sunglasses, small hoop earrings, a layered necklace, and a matching hair claw clip.

We all have those days when nothing feels good but a pair of leggings, and, as Gigi Hadid proves with her latest street style moment, even supermodels aren’t immune to the charm of a great pair of leggings. Instead of leaning into the athleisure of it all, Hadid made her leggings look extremely chic — and the outfit formula couldn’t be easier.
For a day out in New York City, Gigi Hadid looked comfortable but super sophisticated in a pair of navy leggings paired with a black crewneck sweater and navy blazer layered over the top for a suit effect.
Raymond Hall
The blazer is a bit oversized and hits at mid-hip, while the sweater is shorter in length and tucked in just a bit for an undone, casually cool vibe. (While we’re not 100% sure, we’d bet the sweater is from her cashmere line Guest in Residence.)
White calf-length socks and loafers are the perfect finishing touch, keeping the leggings from looking too sporty. The model finished off her ‘fit with classic, simple black sunglasses and a black bag, her new bob styled in a cute, trendy flip.
Raymond Hall
This is the kind of look you can definitely whip up with things in your closet and wear anywhere and everywhere, forever. The leggings feel less workout-worthy and more sleek thanks to the sweater and jacket combo, plus the shoes and socks. It’s easy to throw together on a busy morning and great for when the weather feels unpredictable, as you can quickly add or lose layers throughout the day.
Pulled-together, polished, chic yet comfy is basically her trademark at this point; we’re always looking to Hadid’s street style for inspiration, like her recent pop of red layering moment. Thus, it’s no surprise Gigi Hadid may have just created the perfect outfit once again.

We admit, they are a little trickier to wear than trainers (if only for their lack of ubiquity), but if you’re musing over how to wear cowboy boots, an important point to note is that, while the best cowboy boots don’t come with a rule book, the success of your overall look relies solely on what you choose to wear them with.
Where previously we were taught to leave everything else remotely Western-related at the ranch (so to speak), and to avoid pairing them with gingham prints, cowboy hats and denim fabrics, we now have free rein entirely. Take the recent runways of Molly Goddard, Louis Vuitton and DSquared2, for example; from shirts with contrasting seams and embroidered yokes to studded suede leather jackets, the cowboy trend says go big or go home.

Elsewhere, echoing the traditional tooled leather details of authentic cowboy boots again, this we’re seeing stacked Cuban heels (which slant slightly) and elongated pointed toes as key details. From there, though, its a free-for-all.
Traditional black, tan, chocolate and sandy shades are all valid colours if youâre looking to add a pair of womenâs cowboy boots to your everyday rotations â even more so if you’re still apprehensive and don’t want to go too bold too fast â but weâve also spotted gold, silver and colour-block iterations that have us hyped for the warmer seasons ahead. This isn’t our first rodeo.

This post will show you the hottest fashion trends for teens in 2024.
Hello, 2024!
A new year means new fashion trends to try out, so let’s talk about the latest fashion trends you’re about to see everywhere.
If you’re a teen or a young adult, you may not feel like every fashion trend applies to you (there can be some pretty “out there” stuff on the runways), which is why I am breaking down the top 10 fashion trends for teens in 2024.
Stay ahead of the curve with our teen trend guide, along with the trendiest clothing and accessories under $100.
There’s a lot to cover, so let’s jump right in!
Teen Fashion Trends for 2024
Coquette Aesthetic (Bows!)
If you’ve been scrolling on TikTok, there’s no doubt you have heard of the viral coquette aesthetic that has been taking over social media (and real life).
It’s a celebration of all things ultra-girly that involves bows, lace, rosettes, frills, and feminine silhouettes and colors.
This aesthetic is all about embracing your girliest self through your clothing and accessories, playing on other recent “core” trends like Ballet Core and Soft Girl Core, with a hint of vintage-inspired flair. (Think corset and A-line silhouettes, locket and pearl jewelry, knee-high socks, etc.)
Take part in this trend as much or as little as you’d like: whether you go full-on coquette or only accessorize your outfits with a cute bow in your hair, this feminine aesthetic is a fun one to try out in 2024.
Embrace your inner coquette with this mini dress that features a corset-like bodice and a pleated mini skirt, plus lace detailing, a bow, and frilly fabric under the neckline for a layered effect.
If you want to go full-on coquette, accessorize with a hair bow, delicate jewelry, and Mary-Jane shoes or ballet flats.
One of the trendiest ways to get in on the coquette aesthetic happens to be one of the easiest (and most affordable): wearing a bow in your hair.
Whether you go for a big bow or a small bow, you can’t go wrong with thisadorable hair accessory.
Incorporating a hair accessory also allows you to experiment more with your hairstyles; for example, this pink satin bow barretteallows you to wear your hair half up and half down or put it on top of a high ponytail for another cute style.
You can also DIY this trend by tying your own ribbon into a bow, which is especially easy if you wear your hair in braids.
Baby Pink
With girly, coquettish styles on the rise, it should be no surprise that baby pink is primed to be one of the trendiest colors in 2024.
This soft, feminine color is starting to replace the bright, bold Barbie pink that ruled last season, just in time for spring (because wearing pastels during the springtime is always a good idea).
Add this color to your wardrobe in the form of dresses, corset tops, and even loungewear, which will appear elevated thanks to this sweet shade of pink.
You will feel cozy in this feminine set which features Y2K-inspired details like a diamanté logo on both the top and pants, along with lace trim detailing on the top.
While athleisure and comfy clothing will never not be in style, in 2024, expect to see more elevated lounge looks that are a bit more form-fitting and put-together, like the option above.
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Fashion
Sustainability is always in, and in 2024, it’s more important than ever.
This year, we’re going to shop from brands that are committed to sustainability by utilizing eco-friendly materials, offering recycling programs, employing ethical manufacturing practices, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Of course, thrifting and vintage shopping are arguably the best ways to shop sustainably, as they eliminate waste and make use of clothing that has already been made, but if you’re looking for other options, consider the following brands.
Reformation marries fashion-forward designs with sustainability so that you can “save the Earth and look damn good doing it.” Love that!
For example, this stylish knit long-sleeve top is made from deadstock fabric, which reduces waste by using fabrics that would otherwise go unused and end up in overflowing landfills.
The brand is in the process of becoming climate-positive and 100% circular by 2030, putting an emphasis on using recycled, regenerative, and/or renewable fabrics rather than new fabrics in the clothing it produces.
Reformation also offers a reuse program called RefRecycling, engineered to keep your clothes out of landfills by allowing you to either resell what you no longer wear or send the clothes back to the brand for them to rework into new products.
Beyond the brand’s transparent sustainability practices, they are known as being a top shopping destination for on-trend clothing (especially dresses).
Alternative Apparel is a casual clothing brand that uses eco-friendly materials and responsible manufacturing to make a “positive footprint” on the planet.
Their line of laid-back clothing includes t-shirts, hoodies, jogger pants, and other casual basics, so if you’re looking for a brand to shop everyday essentials from, give Alternative Apparel a try.
You can shop the brand’s collection on Amazon with Prime Try Before You Buy, which is another plus!
Gender-Neutral Clothing
Though it’s by no means a “trend,” gender-neutral clothing is on the rise, and for good reason.
Clothing free of gender norms that can be worn by everyone, no matter how they identify, should be on your radar in 2024.
Genderless fashion allows for inclusivity and removes the limitations placed on individuals who feel like they need to conform to a gender when getting dressed.
These all-gender clothing lines are helping to break societal gender norms and allow self-expression for everyone.
Asos offers a variety of unisex clothing options, both by its in-house brand and by other brands like Nike, New Balance, and Collusion.
This genderless football (soccer) jersey-inspired top is a great way to get into the sportswear trend (more on that below), and comes in a broad size range from 2XS to 3XL.
Clothing For Humans (also known as ClHu) is an all-gender clothing brand and community platform that is about conscious consumption and offers a canvas for personal expression through clothing.
In addition to offering a range of cool, casual garments, the brand has come up with its own color-based sizing method rather than traditional sizing labels in order to champion radical inclusivity.
Prep-School Fashion
Class is in session!
Fashion inspired by prep school uniforms is still going strong in 2024, so don’t stop wearing your pleated skirts, loafers, or sweater vests any time soon.
The best part about this trend? It’s a trend you can actually wear to school (so long as the pieces you pick pass the dress code, of course).
Go for a preppy vibe with a blouse that does the layering work for you.
Though it looks like a cardigan layered over a button-down blouse, it’s a single piece. This top will make getting dressed a breeze by giving you an effortless layered look.
Office-Inspired Fashion
Similar to (but not to be confused with) prep-school fashion is the trend of officewear.
In 2024, expect to see plenty of collared blouses, wide-leg trousers, vests, and other office staples — but with flirty twists. Think of a classic button-down that has been made trendy with a cropped silhouette, for example.
If you’re looking for “office core” outfit inspo, just look to celebs like Billie Eilish, Bella Hadid, and Tate McRae for proof that this is a must-know fashion trend!
This cropped poplin button-down shirt is a perfect example of the office core trend, which is all about putting a youthful, flirty spin on sophisticated, “buttoned-up” pieces that you’d find in a typical workplace.
Where sweater vests are a marker of the prep school trend, tailored vest tops fall into the office core category (I’m so here for both!).
This pinstriped vest top with a halter neckline is equal parts sleek and sexy, making it ideal for wearing on a night out.
Sports Jerseys and Athletic-Inspired Clothing
You don’t have to be a sports fan (or athletic, for that matter) to appreciate the sport-inspired clothing trend of 2024.
Remember last year’s “bloke-core” aesthetic? That vibe is continuing and shifting into an even sportier version of itself in the new year, so grab your jerseys, track pants, and soccer sneakers to “score” major style points this season.
The best part about this trend? It’s super comfortable since these pieces tend to be designed for movement.
If you don’t have an actual sports team to root for, have no fear. Thissoccer jersey-inspired top will give you the look of wearing a legit jersey — without needing to belong to a team.
Its yellow and green color combination makes it pop, while its oversized fit and breathable mesh design will keep you feeling comfortable (and cool).
They are extremely comfy, but when paired with street-style pieces like a faux leather bomber jacket and a corset or a bodysuit, they will look elevated.
Wear these to class or when chilling with friends for the ultimate trendy-meets-athletic look.
Flared Pants
This year, we are feeling the flares. Flared pants, that is!
Ditch your standard leggings for a flared pair instead. The flared silhouette has a vintage-inspired design that feels new again in 2024.
Their slouchy, loose fit gives them an ultra-laid-back look, but the waistband-less design with a low-rise cut makes an intentional style statement that won’t go unnoticed.
Show it off by pairing these with a crop top so that the waistband-free design is on full display.
Their loose yet not overly baggy silhouette is just right for wearing day or night.
Style them with sneakers and a baby tee during the daytime, or dress them up with heels and a cropped corset top at night.
Denim Everything Else
Denim is going to have a major moment in 2024 — just not in the way you might expect.
Yes, jeans are always going to be in fashion, but this year, denim is set to take over other categories, including tops, skirts, bags, shoes, and more!
In 2024, experiment by wearing denim in new ways, whether with a denim corset-inspired top or a pleated denim mini skirt.
Denim tube tops, corset tops, and crop tops are among the best ways to wear denim in 2024 — because wearing denim on top rather than on the bottom is definitely unexpected!
This denim tube top has a bustier-inspired design with stretch, which gives it a flattering fit. Exposed zipper details, front flap pockets, and a notched hem add to its eye-catching design, as well.
For a fashion-forward look, style it with a beige skirt or pants in a chino-like material.
The other trendy way to wear non-jeans denim this year? Denim mini skirts.
You’ll be seeing these everywhere in 2024, so get ahead of the trend by scooping one up immediately.
Pleated denim mini skirts are an especially on-trend option since these have the prep-school-inspired vibe we covered earlier in this post.
You can just as easily wear a pleated denim mini casually with sneakers and a t-shirt as you could dress it up with heels and a going-out top, making it a versatile piece to add to your wardrobe.
In 2024, we are moving away from the tiny bag trend and will be seeing bigger bags back in action, which makes this pick extra trendy.
The size of this tote bag is roomy without being huge, making it a great everyday bag that is enhanced by its Y2K aesthetic and denim fabrication. It also has plenty of pockets, which is always a plus!
What do you think of our teen fashion trends 2024 guide?
Would you wear these trends? Which teen fashion trend is your favorite?
Despite the nature of my job, I’m not a big shopper. I go on no-buy periods occasionally (I was recently on one since October), and if I do buy something, it’s usually one or two things each season. If there is a time when I do hit “add to cart” more than usual, it’s during fashion month. I’m always inspired by the street-style images that come or the newest collections released by designers, and thus like to make a wishlist of what I love and would want in my wardrobe during fashion week and beyond. With fashion month upon us, I thought I’d share a peek into my running wishlist in case you’re on the hunt for a bit of shopping inspiration.
Ahead, you’ll find my complete fashion month wishlist from red mesh flats to balloon jeans. Keep scrolling and see if anything special catches your eye. I haven’t clicked purchase on anything yet, but I’m certain that fate will change by tomorrow.
Valentine’s Day is one week away, so needless to say, it’s crunch time. Not to stress you out or anything, but the time to order those last-minute gifts is now. I know we’ve all barely recovered from holiday gift shopping, but time marches on. The deadline has already passed on some retailers’ sites but there are still plenty of options that will arrive before February 14—from the likes of Shopbop, Nordstrom, and Net-a-Porter, to name a few excellent ones.
Valentine’s Day gift shopping is a little tricky as stereotypical “cutesy” gifts can be difficult to avoid, but I think I did a great job of finding cool gifts for the holiday, if I do say so myself. So scroll on while there’s still time to get something good for your loved ones—or treat yourself to a Valentine’s Day gift of your own choosing. You deserve it.
While some wardrobe staples come and go, there’s absolutely nothing like a classic. A white turtleneck will always be a must-have in my opinion. Just a few weeks ago, I went through my winter staples to figure out what I was missing. I found that it had been a while since I upgraded my selection of white sweaters. I also found that my favorite white turtleneck was piling and slightly outdated. While a practical person would be bummed to find that a sweater they once loved wasn’t right for them anymore, I was thrilled with the opportunity to replace it in my collection.
If you’re like me and have been holding onto things for a little bit too long, this is your sign to say goodbye to the sweaters of yesterday and hello to a brand-new future. At the same time, if you already have a great collection of white turtleneck sweaters, there are so many ways to wear them that I just have to tell you about. Below, find the nine white-turtleneck outfits that I will be copying this fall.
Everyone has their go-to procrastination tactic. Maybe you find yourself refreshing your Instagram feed, whipping up an elaborate meal, or going for a leisurely walk when you’re putting off a task. My personal coping mechanism? Making shopping lists. No matter what mood I’m in or why exactly I’m looking to kill time, my first instinct is to draw up a list of things I need (well, more often than not, things I want but don’t actually need). Grocery lists, arbitrary to-do lists, and, yes, shopping lists.
Being a fashion editor, I keep a running tab of my favorite brands and boutiques that are owned or designed by Black talent. These names are top of mind throughout the year, but given that February is Black History Month, it’s the perfect time to highlight all the stunning Black-owned fashion items that are occupying my cart (and my headspace) right now. In the below edit, you’ll find a range of items from pretty pearl earrings to trendy sneakers and brands from smaller indie labels like K.ngsley and Sammy B to industry heavyweights such as Telfar and Christopher John Rogers. This one goes out to you, Who What Wear readers, because there’s no one who loves a good shopping list more than you do (except for yours truly).
Rejoice: the spring 2024 collections are beginning to land in stores, and there’s so much to discuss. Now that the spring looks are making their way into our carts and even onto the street, it’s time to report on what is actually resonating in the wild because, let’s face it—not everything we loved on the runway will translate into a practical item worthy of our (already maxed-out) closets.
We may have dissected the runways months ago, but now we’re actually observing which items are becoming popular and buzzy IRL, and we’re pleased to say that there are a number of pieces that have managed to break through as *the* ones to know. Whether it’s the pretty satin mules from Prada’s spring runway, the High Sport kick-flare pants that are the talk of every fashion Substack, or the new Bottega Veneta bag that celebrities are already carrying, the most-buzzed-about luxury items are set to define spring, if not 2024 as a whole.
Here, we’ve put together our master list of the 29 pieces that are making their mark on style right now. These are unquestionably the items that have everyone talking.
If you’re like me, you probably have enough black, and neutral-colored shoes at this point, so it’s my fashion-editor duty to put some color on your footwear radar. We talk a lot about shoe trends here at Who What Wear, but a more niche subject is shoe color trends. Yes, they’re definitely a thing, and they’re usually in line with the overarching color trends during any given season.
You could say that one of my personality traits is that I’m obsessed with shoes. So, you’re in good hands when it comes to shoe trends. I often scroll through Instagram with the sole purpose of looking for shoes. And now that winter is winding down, the shoe color trends for spring have really revealed themselves. And while the red shoe trend is still going strong, I’m here to talk about the even fresher color trends.
Scroll on for the five biggest shoe color trends of the season, and to shop the best pairs in each colorful category.
The watch industry is traditionally a male-dominated space, but we’ve seen women carving out a bigger presence in it—from an expert POV and a shopping standpoint. On social media, specifically, we’re seeing a new wave of experts who are educating their audiences on the world of watches and inspiring a new generation of collectors. Among them are Brynn Wallner of Dimepiece and Trang Trinh of Girls O’Clock, whose content is both educational and entertaining, making the watch world a fun, less intimidating place to enter. As Wallner puts it, “With social media, anyone can talk about it, and there’s no gatekeeping. If you use the tool correctly, then you get your voice heard, and it has the power to impact the entire industry.”
Wallner got her start in the watch world after she was laid off from Sotheby’s in 2020 and set the tone for the new direction of women in the industry. “To me, what I was doing wasn’t all that groundbreaking—it was mostly just identifying watches that celebrities wore, but with my tone and my point of view and the people that I was covering,” Wallner explains. “Scary Spice to Bella Hadid to Princess Diana—all of these women with great style—and I injected my personal sense of humor into it.” Trinh, too, approached the luxury watch space less traditionally. “I began Girls O’Clock with two missions: to be a resource for women who don’t know where to begin in the world of watches and to amplify the dialogue on why women are interested in watches and the styles they lust after, all of which I hope I accomplish with a bit of fun!” Trinh shares. Each of their platforms has resonated in a major way and has translated to a new generation of watch enthusiasts and collectors.
Curious to know more about where the watch world is headed in 2024, I consulted Wallner and Trinh. Ahead, learn about the hot watch trends and styles to own.
Let’s be honest for a moment. Fashion can feel frivolous at times, especially within the context of contemporary couture. It can sometimes feel ostentatious compared to our approachable capsule wardrobe. Because modern couture is inaccessible to most consumers and there’s so much happening in the world, it’s only natural for most to ask, Is haute couture really that serious? I’d never surmise that it would have the weight that so many other topics do in the world, but I’d also never discount its influence. Like it or not, couture has often acted as a reflection of current times—it can tell us what’s happening in the stars and the stock exchange. Long before something blows up on TikTok, you better believe its origins can be traced back to couture fashion week.
The essence of what’s fashionable always comes back to haute couture because it’s about the craft of making clothing. It’s not about hyperconsumption; it’s about the art. That feels particularly topical as more conversations in the cultural canon center on the idea of adopting the quiet luxury ethos—the shift from keeping up with trends to investing in timeless items. Couture offers people a permission slip to escape from the never-ending trend cycle, and it’s a way to fall in love with well-made clothing again. At best, couture can make us see the world in a new light or, at the very least, change our wardrobes. If you’re still not convinced about how couture can apply to your relationship with your own closet, you’ll want to keep reading.
After hours of image research, I’ve narrowed down the six best spring/summer 2024 couture collections based on how they made haute couture feel relatable to our everyday lives. Plus, I’ve identified three looks from each show that are easy to re-create with shopping recommendations. Prepare to become a lover of haute couture.
Japan is known for many things—spectacular food, beautiful temples, high-speed trains, and a welcoming culture—but fashion certainly tops the list. So when I visited for the first time a few weeks ago, I was eager to drink up all the street style around the major cities. While all of Japan is incredibly chic, Tokyo, specifically, boasts a standout street style (it’s no surprise given it’s the biggest city with influential fashion neighborhoods like Shibuya and Harajuku). It’s also a haven for vintage shopping, with entire streets lined with incredible stores filled with treasures from the past.
That effortlessly cool style mixed with the electric city energy against the backdrop of neon lights was exactly the style inspiration I had been craving. So needless to say I had my fashion-editor cap on while exploring Tokyo, taking note of what all the most stylish Japanese people were wearing. While Tokyo style is quite directional and people have their unique styles, I did notice a few trends many people were incorporating into their wardrobes in interesting ways. From an emerging outerwear silhouette to a statement accessory color, below are the four fashion trends I saw all over the streets of Tokyo.
While Mytheresa is a luxury retailer through and through (one of the best, I might add), not everything in its inventory is in the thousands—far from it. I check the new arrivals nearly daily and among the Loewe It bags and The Row and Alaïa shoes everyone want to get their hands on, I routinely find items for far less—great items, I might add.
Since I scroll through Mytheresa so often anyway, I thought I’d share my favorite wallet-friendly finds with you—with $250 being the limit. Among them are the perfect pair of earrings, designer socks, trend-forward accessories, chic basics, and swimwear for the season ahead—to name a few of my finds. Present and accounted for are Gucci, Toteme, and Jacquemus, among others.
If this sounds up your alley, scroll on to shop the picks I’m currently coveting from Mytheresa (and some I already own, so I can certainly vouch).
Although we spend the majority of our days looking at new trends, there are moments when we like to shine a light on the tried-and-tested pieces that work 365 days a year. You know, the jeans that fit in all the right places or the blazer that makes you look like you’ve made an effort—even if you haven’t brushed your hair. Then there’s the top that never lets you down: the Breton.
As far as iconic fashion pieces go, the striped top is up there with the best of them. Introduced as the uniform for the French Navy in 1858, the one and only Coco Chanel later took inspiration from the sailors’ look for her nautical collection in 1917. Since then, we can categorically say that the rest is, well, history.
Striped tees and jumpers are now go-tos for an entire range of women, from the likes of Kate Middleton to the fashion industry’s elite. Giving that certain je ne sais quoi to any outfit, this is the chic separate that will go the distance in your wardrobe way beyond 2024.
There are plenty of trends to get excited about this year, and there’s no doubt I’ll be delving into a few of them. Capri pants and sheer skirts, I’m looking at you. I am, however, adamant to shop more strategically in 2024. For me, this means investing in classic pieces that I can mix and match throughout the year and beyond and that still feel fresh and of-the-moment. I’m prioritizing versatility and honing in on styles and silhouettes that are easy to wear and will ensure the chicest version of myself.
Below, I’m sharing seven classic styles that will make getting dressed easier and feel au courant thanks to their dominant presence on the runways and the fashion set. From straight-leg jeans to kitten heels, these basics will make even the most disgruntled wardrobes feel brand-new.
There was a time when wearing white jeans at any time of year besides the summer was a true fashion faux pas. White jeans were for summer, and blue jeans were for everything else—no room for debate. While many traditional folks still buy into this narrative, fashion people tend to disagree. What can we say? We like to break the rules. Wearing white jeans whenever it feels like the right time to put them on is exactly what I would expect from the fashion crowd, and I’ve been seeing a lot of it lately.
With the vanilla-girl aesthetic *still* all over my FYP, there hasn’t been a better time to wear white denim in any which way that you like it. Whether you’re after the “winter whites” look or you’re going for a wardrobe revamp, these eight outfits will inspire your white-denim adventures.
There are a few items that are basically always relevant in some capacity but enter the spotlight again in greater ways from time to time. A denim jacket happens to be one of said basics. That’s right. After scrolling through my Saved images on Instagram, it became evident that the chicest fashion people are wearing jean jackets more regularly again—similarly to how bomber jackets are more popular.
Given its highly versatile nature and ability to be paired with a range of casual outfits, a jean jacket could easily be deemed a wardrobe staple. You may have one already in your offering, but if you’re looking to refresh that wardrobe or want to add a stylish jean jacket into your rotation once and for all, I rounded up the best jean jackets for you below. You’ll also notice styling inspiration if that’s of interest.
