  • Orlando hosts three can’t-miss fall food fests this weekend

    The recently reviewed Cairo Express will be one of many vendors at the Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4-11 p.m. at Masjid Al-Rahman at 1089 N. Goldenrod Road. The Halal Brisket, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Taste of Indonesia, Dapper Donuts, Caribbean Grill & Roti Shop and more will be in attendance.

    Stone crab season is upon us and Four Flamingos: A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen will host its annual Stone Crab Brunch Buffet Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The spread will feature bottomless Florida stone crab, shucked oysters, poached Canaveral shrimp, snow crab claws, salmon ceviche, a “grouper à la mojo” carving station, beef tenderloin carving station, made-to-order ricotta pancakes, a noshing table, dessert bar and more.     The Kitchen House in College Park will hold its Fall Fête fundraising dinner Monday, Oct. 27, from 6-9 p.m. featuring a seasonal multicourse menu prepared by “chef ambassadors” Lo Lalicon (Kaya), James & Julie Petrakis (Ravenous Pig), Fabrizio Schenardi (Four Seasons Orlando), Nikk Burton (The Monroe), Jamie McFadden (Cuisiniers) and Kevin Fonzo (La Tavola).     Florida may lack the seasonal change aspect of fall, but rest assured the state is full of autumnal to-dos. This year, Orlando and its surrounding communities are bursting with fall festivities like massive pumpkin patches, corn mazes, festivals, live entertainment, kids’ events and more. 

    Hayrides, apple cider, themed treats, photo ops and even dog costume contests are popping up all around Central Florida. Here are some of the best events fall has to offer. 

    Painted Oaks Academy

    Great Scott Farms

    Great Scott Farms is hosting a slew of fall festivities with a corn maze, “jumping pillow” and a “super slide.” There is also a castle-themed playground, hay rides, and of course a massive pumpkin patch.

    Fall at Grande Lakes Orlando

    Grande Lakes Orlando hosts a Fall at Grande Lakes Festival for just one weekend in October, on Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Expect live music, animal encounters (including a falconer demonstration) family lawn games, seasonal snacks and beverages, and a resident magician. For the very little ones, there will be train rides, balloon artists and face painting.

    Club Lake’s Fall Festival, pumpkin patch and more

    Thursdays to Sundays, through Oct. 31

    Club Lake’s Fall Festival is open weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Festivities feature a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay rides, a country store and activities like “pumpkin chunkin’” and tennis ball cannon launches. Admission price is $18.95 per person; group discounted rates are also available; and infants enter for free.

    Fall Festival at Southern Hill Farms

    Lukas Nursery Annual Tractors and Treats

    This one-day trick-or-treating event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offers kiddos the opportunity to wear costumes and bop around collecting candy. There will be a tractor show and food vendors on site, too. No tickets are required.

    Harvest Holler Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

    At Harvest Holler Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, families can get up close and personal with a working family farm, complete with animals, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch. Maw-Maw’s Country Store on site offers cobblers and plenty of other country treats.

    Sunsational Farms themed Halloween trails

    In addition to its several daytime fall festivals this month, Sunsational Farms is also hosting a haunted trails event on weekend nights through the end of October. Friday and Saturday evenings will see three spooky trails, plus a haunted DJ experience and a “creepy cornhole course.”
