Companion is a typical love story where a woman, Iris (Sophie Thatcher), meets and falls for a guy, Josh (Jack Quaid). But her dreams are dashed when Iris discovers that Josh is a horrible liar who programed her to love him. Also, Sophie isn’t a real woman at all, she’s just a very life-like android who thinks she’s human.
Admittedly, Iris’ circumstances are unique to her. That’s her problem and also her solution. Because now that Iris knows the truth, she can deal with Josh any way that she sees fit, and that’s very bad news for him.
Companion will stream on Prime Video on October 24.
This October, whether you’re looking for thrills or chills, Peacock has got you covered either way.
For the thriller department in particular, the streamer has plenty of crime, mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, including some brand-new offerings.
This month, Watch With Us has picked a few of the best Peacock thriller highlights, including the new crime comedy caper Honey Don’t! starring Margaret Qualley and the FBI action thriller classic, Sicario.
Read on to see the rest of our list.
‘Honey Don’t!’ (2025)
Honey O’Donahue (Qualley) is a small-town private eye who investigates a series of bizarre deaths that all seem to be linked to a suspicious church. When Honey is called to the scene of a car accident, she realizes that the victim was a prospective client who had called her that same day. Honey discovers that the victim, Mia, was a member of the Four-Way Temple led by the charismatic Reverend Drew Devlin (Chris Evans), and her continued investigation leads her down a dark and dangerous path involving drug deals and dead bodies.
This neo-noir black comedy comes from one half of the Coen brothers directing duo, Ethan Coen, and leans heavily into the brothers’ known wheelhouse of combining gripping crime narratives with wacky, even slapstick humor. Honey Don’t! received praise from critics for its performances and world-building, finding that its consistent gags and silliness often made up for its lackadaisical narrative. Still, Qualley’s performance was noted as a standout and well worth the watch.
Moralistic FBI agent Kate Mercer (Emily Blunt) rises through the ranks of her stereotypically patriarchal profession and receives an important assignment. She is assigned by a mysterious government official (Josh Brolin) to join a task force to bring down a ruthless and powerful Mexican drug cartel. Working alongside the enigmatic Alejandro (Benicio del Toro), Kate’s ideals are tested, and the lines between good and evil are blurred as she descends into the crime and chaos of the US-Mexican drug trade.
Masterful direction from Denis Villeneuve (Dune) and breathtaking cinematography from Roger Deakins come together to create an unflinching portrait of the gray area of human morality and the war on drugs. In addition to being a wonderfully directed and stylized film, Sicario’s narrative is taut and completely engrossing, further elevated by superb performances from the entire cast. At the 88th Academy Awards, the film received nominations for Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Sound Editing.
A plot to kidnap the daughter of a powerful underworld figure turns awry in this hilarious mashup of thriller, horror and comedy. When the ragtag group of criminals takes the 12-year-old girl to a secluded mansion, they learn that there is more to her family than they initially realized — and the little girl carries a terrifying secret.
Abigail features an eclectic ensemble cast including Dan Stevens, Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton and Giancarlo Esposito. Stylish, funny and full of twists you won’t see coming, Abigail is sure to meet your needs for some thrilling entertainment. It received positive reviews, with critics praising it for its atmosphere, cast chemistry and sense of humor.
Sofia Minor (Samara Weaving) is a pop star with a major problem — she has an obsessed fan, Paul Duerson (Ray Nicholson), who thinks they are in love. After an initial attempt to establish contact lands him in prison, Paul escapes and, with the help of fellow inmate Penny (Alba Baptiste), breaks into Sofia’s mansion to profess his love for her. But Paul’s best-laid plans come undone as Sofia is ready with a security guard (Eric Dane) eager for revenge and her own resolve to stop Paul’s stalking once and for all.
While Borderline’s plot is a standard psycho stalker story that Fatal Attraction perfected nearly four decades ago, what elevates the movie is the performances of the two leads. As Sofia, Weaving adds yet another formidable female to her scream queen resume, while Nicholson shows a talent for lunacy that he must have inherited from his famous father, Jack. He has a gift for playing men with madness that isn’t too far off from The Shining’s Jack Torrance.
Getting back into the dating scene is a nightmare for Violet Gates (Meghann Fahy) in Drop. After years of being a single widowed mother, Violet’s young son, Toby (Jacob Robinson), and Violet’s sister, Jen (Violett Beane), encourage her to go on a date with Henry Campbell (Brandon Sklenar), a man she met through a dating site.
Although Violet’s date with Henry starts well, she is harassed by strange and alarming messages on her phone that ultimately threaten the life of her son. And if Violet doesn’t cooperate with Toby’s captor and act against Henry, then she may never see her son alive again.
The Outfit takes place almost exclusively in the tailor shop of Leonard Burling (Mark Rylance) in 1956. Leonard’s primary clientele is the Irish mob, as led by Roy Boyle (Simon Russell Beale) and his son, Richie (Dylan O’Brien). Despite his misgivings, Leonard even lets Richie’s girlfriend, Mable Shaun (Zoey Deutch), work at the shop.
Things start to unravel when Richie shows up at the shop badly wounded alongside his top enforcer, Francis (Johnny Flynn). The Boyle family is convinced that they have a rat in the organization, and the proof is waiting in the shop. As Leonard soon discovers, that intel is also worth killing over.
Before Christopher Nolan made his name directing the Dark Knight trilogy, his calling card in Hollywood was Memento. For his first trick, Nolan shows audiences the ending of Memento before they realize what it means. Then he lets the story unfold in two parallel narratives before catching up with the conclusion.
Everyone loves a good thriller. From 1960’s Psycho to 2024’s Conclave, suspense movies have been around for decades and will always find an appreciative audience. The genre has been in a bit of a slump lately, with fewer thrillers released in theaters than in its heyday in the ‘90s. That decade was arguably a high […]
The film revolves around Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a man who lost his wife and his ability to make new long-term memories due to a brutal attack. Now, Leonard’s memories reset nearly every ten minutes, and he’s not sure if he can trust the people around him, including Natalie (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Teddy (Joe Pantoliano). Everyone seems to take advantage of Leonard’s condition, including Leonard himself.
“Humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reaction to Buck’s storyline,” Stark, 32, wrote via Instagram Story on Saturday, April 6, two days after the 100th episode of 9-1-1 featured his character kissing a man for the first time. “I’ve read so many of your messages and I couldn’t be prouder.”
While many fans have been hoping to see Buck explore his sexuality for years, the actor acknowledged that not everyone was happy with the story line.
“If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show, I would like you to know that I truly don’t care,” he wrote. “This is a show about love and inclusion. It’s featured queer relationships from he very beginning including a beautiful Black lesbian marriage played out by two of the best actresses I’ve ever watched.”
9-1-1’s Evan “Buck” Buckley and Eddie Diaz have been a beloved duo since the show’s second season — with some fans even hoping their friendship will turn into something more. Buck and Eddie, portrayed by Oliver Stark and Ryan Guzman, respectively, became fast friends after Eddie joined the 118 during season 2. When a massive […]
Paramedic Henrietta “Hen” Wilson (Aisha Hinds) and wife Karen Wilson (Tracie Thoms) share son Denny and have been core characters since the 2018 pilot, and they are only two of several LGBTQ+ characters with significant story lines on 9-1-1.
Stark concluded, “If one other character finding a new facet to his sexuality and realizing his bisexuality is your deal breaker — I fear you’ve missed the entire point of the show. You are not required to announce your departure.”

Evan “Buck” Buckley (Stark) and firefighter Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) kissed on the 100th episode, which aired Thursday, April 4. Fans of Buck and Eddie Diaz’s (Ryan Guzman) friendship have long hoped that Buck would explore his sexuality, and Stark revealed that he stepped back from social media because it was hard not to publicly agree with the shippers.
“I withdrew myself a lot from social media because you would see these things [about Buck] and I would agree … but I couldn’t agree, right?” he told TVLine on Thursday. “It was such a fine line, because if things didn’t happen, then I’d have been quote-unquote queerbaiting. So thank you [to those fans] for sticking with the story, and I hope there’s an element of it that feels right. I also hope you continue to stay on board and enjoy the story as we tell it.”
LGBTQ characters can be spotted on the small screen more often than ever before, but there was a time when representation was not only scarce but frowned upon. Ellen became one of the most groundbreaking shows in LGBTQ history when the title character — played by Ellen DeGeneres — came out as a lesbian in […]
Earlier this week, Stark exclusively told Us Weekly that the story line surrounding Buck’s sexual identity will continue throughout season 7, and his struggle is one that is universally relatable: you don’t know what is “missing until you have light shined on it.”
“And I think that’s kind of the story that we’re able to start to tell here, is that Buck isn’t consciously aware of the thing that he’s looking for or what’s lacking in his life,” Stark shared with Us. “And as he hopefully starts to discover that it’s this cathartic, liberating feeling of just being able to ease into it and breathe out this big sigh of relief at last.”
9-1-1 season 7 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
The Bear stars regularly bring the heat in the kitchen on screen — and they proved they know how to fire up a red carpet too at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
The Bearis nominated for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the awards show. As for the cast, they earned nods in four categories: Jeremy Allen White for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, Ayo Edebiri for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, Ebon Moss-Bachrach for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television and Abby Elliott for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television.
The Bear follows award-winning New York City chef Carmy Berzatto (White) as he returns to Chicago to manage his deceased brother’s sandwich shop. The Hulu series premiered in June 2022 and released its second season one year later. In November 2023, it was renewed for season 3.
White, 32, previously teased how Carmy will deal with the fallout of the events of season 2, which saw his character dealing with anxiety as he worked to open his own restaurant.
“The way that Carmy is talking at the end of season 2 — if we get to do a season 3 — I have to assume he’ll be operating from this sort of loss,” he told Variety in June 2023. “He extended himself, he f—ked everything up by extending himself, and he can’t do it again. That’s where he’s at.”
Six months later, White hinted that Carmy will return to his roots in season 3. “For the second season, so much of it was about putting the restaurant together, so there wasn’t that much cooking,” he told the outlet in December 2023. “But now, in the third season, I think we’re going to go back to that functioning kitchen atmosphere that we had in the first.”
“It’s really not our thought process when we’re making the show, and I understand it can be part of a show’s culture — but I don’t think they’re going to get what they want,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in August 2023. “I think it’s incredibly cool to have this dynamic onscreen that isn’t romantic, but that feels charged and sexy.”
It’s not Thanksgiving without Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, but there’s one major change this year.
The Thursday, November 23, broadcast will kick off thirty minutes earlier than previously scheduled parades. This year’s festivities, which marks the 97th procession, kick off at 8:30 a.m. ET and end by noon. In comparison, the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade started at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
True to form, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast live on NBC, with simulcasts airing on Peacock and Telemundo 47 New York. An encore viewing of the celebration will be shown on NBC at 2 p.m. after the National Dog Show (another Thanksgiving Day staple) crowns its canine champion.
Once the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade begins uptown in New York City, all sorts of floats, character balloons and live performances will make their way down to center stage in front of Macy’s Herald Square outpost.
Christmas pajamas, baking sweet treats and decorating trees with family … oh my! There is no right — or wrong — way to get into the holiday spirit, and many celebrities have shared their favorite traditions during the special season. Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland spent their first Christmas together as an engaged couple in […]
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will once again be hosted by Today show anchors Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker.
“We black out so, no,” Kotb, 59, quipped to Us Weekly in November 2022 when asked if she and Guthrie had any embarrassing moments while emceeing the event. “There will be many coming up this year.”
While they try not to focus on potential flubs, Kotb and Guthrie, 51, do keep the temperatures in mind.
Certain Thanksgiving foods are more beloved than others! While some people can’t get enough stuffing — a.k.a. dressing — others are partial to dishes including sweet potato casserole and deviled eggs. House Method, a home design website, compiled a map breaking down the most most-searched savory Thanksgiving dishes in each state and the findings are […]
“I’m a big layerer,” Guthrie told Us. “It’s like tights, socks, the heat tech, the jeans and I try to wear the boots, they’re not even in fashion anymore, that go way up high over your knee because that’s really thick.”
Guthrie completes her look with hand warmers, a scarf and a hat. “It’s ridiculous. It’s like we’re infernos,” Kotb chimed in. “We’re burning inside.”
This year’s parade will also feature a number of star-studded performances. The lineup includes Jessie James Decker, Brandy, David Foster and Katharine McPhee, En Vogue, Pentatonix and Jon Batiste. Certain Broadway productions — including & Juliet, Back to the Future: The Musical and Spamalot — as well as the Radio City Rockettes will also perform special numbers.

Cher, for her part, is set to make her parade debut to close out the show. The legendary singer, 77, will arrive just as Santa Claus rolls up in his sleigh, signaling the shift to the winter holidays. The appearance comes shortly after Cher released her first holiday album, succinctly titled Christmas.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs on NBC on Thursday, November 23, at 8:30 a.m. ET.
