  • Donald Trump Jr. Is Engaged (Again). Will Bettina Anderson Get a White House Wedding?

As the father of the groom looked on in the background, Don Jr. took the microphone, thanking Anderson, standing to his right in a strapless red dress with a stone twinkling on her ring finger, for “that one word: yes.”

“When you’re down there and you’re gonna go, and you’re trying to ask, and you’re not sure what the answer’s gonna be, it’s always a little bit rough,” he said of the proposal. “But she said yes, so that’s a big win for the end of the year.”

This is the third time Don Jr. has gotten engaged, which explains that “always” he dropped. Trump was previously engaged, then married to Vanessa Trump, who has been romantically linked to golf star Tiger Woods since early this year, and before Anderson, was engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, whose relationship with Trump ended about the same time as her ambassadorship to Greece was announced and Anderson and Trump’s relationship became public. Are those last things connected? Who could even begin to say!

The engagement could be seen as a belated birthday present to Anderson, who turned 39 on December 1, or one heck of an early Christmas stocking stuffer.

Or, hey, maybe there’s something in the air: Earlier Monday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently announced that she will resign from her position in January following disagreements with the president, shared that she is also engaged to be married, in her case to journalist Brian Glenn of Real America’s Voice.

The White House, when contacted by Vanity Fair for comment on the presidential offspring’s latest betrothal, referred us to Don Jr.’s representative. As of the publication of this article, that spokesperson did not respond to the request for comment.

Anderson also said a few words to the assembled well-wishers at the White House Monday, where her experience as a benefit host, welcoming and thanking attendees and sponsors, was apparent.

“Wow, what a privilege it is to be here in the White House, Mr. President,” she said. “To our first lady—these decorations! Am I right? Are they unbelievable? This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel just like the luckiest girl in the world.”

Those “unbelievable” Christmas decorations masterminded by Melania Trump include a Lego recreation of her husband’s mugshot alongside one of George Washington’s presidential portraits, as well as topple-ready structures made of dominoes and playing cards. It’s an about-face from the chilling blood-red trees of yesteryear, though no update has been publicly offered on whether she now “gives a fuck about Christmas stuff and decorations” as she said in 2018.

  • ‘I would have freaked’: Orlando man accidentally returns fiancée’s real engagement ring to Amazon instead of her fake one. Then they reach out to Amazon

A couple accidentally returned a real wedding ring instead of a cheaper “fake” one to Amazon, leading to a rabbit hole of calls with the company to get their ring back. In a video with over 188,000 views, Hannah (@hannahhuffer7), and Orlando lifestyle content creator set to get married this year, explained how she accidentally returned the wrong item to Amazon.

In her video, she described how she wears a fake engagement ring to work, bringing her actual engagement ring to other events like her Bible studies. When she went to put on her ring before a study one day, she noticed that her actual, incredibly expensive ring wasn’t there. Her fiancé had accidentally returned her real ring to Amazon instead of the fake one that she’d been using for work.

A desperate bid to get the ring back

The couple immediately jumped into action. They called Amazon, but their return service was of little help to them. Amazon’s return line allegedly told the couple that they couldn’t look through any of the boxes given to them, as they’re sealed. The company “didn’t care one bit” about their predicament, ultimately leading them to a Whole Foods parking lot to try and reach out directly.

In Hannah’s video, you can hear her fiancé trying to get the ring back. He says that he returned the ring on that very same day in a relatively calm demeanor.

    Commenters offer suggestions

Commenters had a few suggestions on things to do to try and get the engagement ring back. For one, many said that calling Amazon’s return service repeatedly works better than calling once.

“One time I accidentally returned a $3,000 camera lens to Amazon instead of a $10 scale. I called and cried like [five] times. [Two] weeks later it miraculously showed back up at my doorstep. KEEP CALLING,” said one commenter.

“Okay…So I accidentally returned an antique plate to amazon. i called them a few times until I got to someone who would help me. They told me they would return it. It took almost two months, but I did end up getting it back,” added another viewer.

Others suggested that they invest in ring insurance. Hannah clarified that they did have insurance for the ring, but it was sentimental for the couple.

    Getting the ring back

According to a comment that Hannah left on her first video, a Whole Foods manager was able to find and return the ring to them.

She later clarified in a video update how everything transpired. Her fiancé was making 25 Amazon returns, as she had a large Amazon list for her bachelorette party. They weren’t necessarily planning on returning the “fake” engagement ring at that time, but it ended up in their return pile anyway.

Her fiancé thought that she had put her real ring on for work that day, leaving the fake one out. He put it back in its box, leading to it ending up in his car on the way to return.

Many commenters wondered how he wasn’t able to tell the difference between her fake ring and her real ring. Hannah clarified that her future husband’s life “flashed before his eyes” because of the mistake.

When they got to Whole Foods, they didn’t end up making any progress at first. That’s when Liz, the Whole Foods manager, came in. She ended up finding the ring for them and saving the day. She went through 20 boxes worth of goods to find and return the ring.

Viewers mentioned the fact that Hannah and her partner should get Liz a gift card. Hannah agreed.

The Mary Sue has reached out to Hannah. We’ve also reached out to Amazon’s press email for comment.

  • Georgina Rodriguez Flaunts 30-Carat Diamond Ring From Cristiano Ronaldo

Georgina Rodríguez had no shortage of bling while attending the 82nd annual Venice International Film Festival — and that, of course, included her engagement ring.

Rodríguez, 31, attended the Sunday, August 31, red carpet for the Filming Italy Venice Award, showing off her sleek style in a black lace column gown that she accessorized with a diamond choker, matching stud earrings and a collection of rings.

The model wore diamond baubles on nearly every finger, including one shaped like a flower. She also, naturally, wore the 30-carat engagement ring gifted to her by her fiancé, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rodríguez and Ronaldo, 40, have been together for eight years and got engaged earlier this month.

ABACA/INSTARimages.com Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez may have taken the next step in their longtime relationship. The soccer star, 39, sparked rumors that he and Rodríguez, 30, tied the knot in a recent social media ad for the fitness brand Whoop. While giving a tour around his home gym, Ronaldo referred to his girlfriend by […]

“Yes I do,” she captioned an Instagram photo of the massive rock earlier in August. “In this and in all my lives.”

The soccer star picked out an oval-shaped diamond flanked by smaller stones and set on a silver band.

“[Her] engagement ring is an extraordinary piece, featuring what appears to be an oval-cut diamond in the 15 to 20 carat range,” Lorel Diamond’s ring specialist Laura Taylor told Us Weekly. “The center stone is flanked by substantial side diamonds, adding even more sparkle and making the already impressive main stone look even larger.”

Taylor added, “If the diamond is natural and of exceptional quality in the D-F color range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily exceed around $2 million.”

Neil Dutta, the managing director of Angelic Diamonds, told Us that the ring is likely estimated to be 30 carats.

Several stars are taking the next step in their relationship in 2025 by making things official with their significant other. Days after the New Year, Zendaya sparked engagement speculation when she was spotted on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet with a ring on her left hand. While inside the awards show ceremony on January […]

“A ring of this quality would likely be worth between $3.7 million to $4.9 million,” Dutta told Us. “It’s a piece that rivals some of the biggest celebrity engagement rings, from Beyoncé’s to Kim Kardashian’s, and after [eight years] together, it’s definitely been worth the wait.”

Rodríguez started dating Ronaldo in 2016, going on to welcome multiple children together.

Ronaldo is the father of son Cristiano, 15, though he never publicly identified his son’s mother. Ronaldo later welcomed twins Eva and Mateo, both 8, via surrogate. Rodríguez gave birth to the couple’s first child together, daughter Alana, in July 2017. They later welcomed daughter Bella in April 2022, whose twin brother, Ángel, was stillborn.

  • Taylor Swift Is Over Her Coy Era

Taylor Swift’s summer seems to be anything but cruel: Hot on the heels of announcing her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, and its attendant 97,000 vinyl variants (so far), with Travis Kelce at her side, the pair made another big announcement Tuesday. In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared news of their engagement, Swift flashing a 10-plus-carat cushion-cut diamond ring in a fairytale garden crammed with the lushest of blooms.

The message is clear: Karma is her fiance, thankyouverymuch.

Just over a month before she drops her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, and a week and change away from the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener, Swift and Kelce have once again snatched the day’s headlines together by sharing the happy news. Don’t spend it all in one place? Nah, they seem to say, blow the bank. Scrooge McDuck the currency of happiness and success.

It’s a marked change from the past two years of Swift and Kelce’s public relationship: As the so-called dads, Brads, and Chads sniveled about seeing Swift cheering during cutaways at NFL games and complained about the star “ruining” the sport (if it’s that easy to ruin, how big of fans could they have been in the first place?) and analysts wrung their hands about the possibility of the singer being a distraction, Swift and Kelce kept their profile as low as possible for two of the world’s most famous people. Yes, they kept showing up for one another’s professional triumphs, but stepped carefully to minimize critique.

Now? They’re done playing coy. If Swift ever had an ounce of division between her work and her personal life, she set it on fire when she featured Kelce in an onstage Eras Tour cameo scooping her off the ground in the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” intro in London, dropped dynamite on it by announcing The Life of a Showgirl on his podcast with a two-hour conversation with him and brother Jason Kelce, and then threw in some napalm for good measure by soundtracking this engagement post with “So High School,” a song she wrote about him. He’s part of her work and her life, at this point, and the world’s just going to have to live with that. Contrast that with lyrics from Swift’s 2022 Midnights track “Lavender Haze,” in which she laments that “all they keep askin’ me is if I’m gonna be your bride / The only kind of girl they see is a one-night or a wife.” (Kelce gets the questions too.) Then-Taylor waved the question off. Now-Taylor has gone full Miss Americana, donning a white silk Polo Ralph Lauren sundress with black pinstripes, complemented by Kelce’s classic navy cable-knit short-sleeve polo sweater by the same brand, and smiling huge, flashing that enormous Artifex Fine engagement ring and letting people think what they’ll think.

Even Donald Trump, who seems to have a one-sided rivalry with Swift and recently shared his opinion that she was “NO LONGER HOT” since he declared his hatred for her (Sydney Sweeney, on the other hand, was “HOTTEST,” he said, since finding out she’s a registered Republican in the wake of her American Eagle “good jeans” campaign fiasco), was forced to sigh and accept the news. A journalist broke the news to Trump as he emerged from a Cabinet meeting and asked for his reaction.

“Well, I wish him a lot of luck,” Trump said. “I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy. And I think that she’s a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck.”

So much for Trump being “not a Taylor Swift fan” and liking apparent Republican Brittany Mahomes “much better than Taylor Swift,” as he proclaimed ahead of last year’s Super Bowl, eh?

Swift, who again wore that diamond-trimmed Cartier watch she’s been so fond of recently in the couple’s engagement photos, probably won’t say anything about it, just like she didn’t say anything about him using an AI photo of her implying her endorsement, or several of his other slams and fibs. Why should she humor it with a response? As she herself sang in The Tortured Poets’ Department’s “But Daddy I Love Him,” “No, you can’t come to the wedding.”

As she said on New Heights, her relationship with Kelce “is what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.” She bought back her masters, and now she’s owning her narrative right along with them. As her tyrannical hot girl cult pairs off one by one—Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, the list goes on—Swift, too, is growing up to live the reality she’s been writing for herself all along, no apologies necessary or offered.

  • Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Engaged

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged to be married, the singer confirmed via an Instagram post Tuesday featuring a carousel of photos of the two canoodling in a garden, a very large diamond on Swift’s ring finger. This, friends, is no paper ring.

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift, who wore a striped Polo Ralph Lauren sundress in the photos, wrote in the caption. Kelce wore a cableknit sweater, also by Polo Ralph Lauren.

The couple have been dating publicly for nearly two years. Their debut, when Swift showed up in a VIP box at a Kansas City Chiefs game on September 24, 2023 to cheer Kelce on, was Jumbotron-worthy. After the football player’s team won, the pair literally rode off into the sunset in a convertible after weeks of rumors that they were dating. In the months following (with a side of seemingly ranch), the couple’s profiles only got bigger: Swift continued on her globe-spanning Eras Tour, and Kelce and the Chiefs went all the way to a Super Bowl win, with both parties literally cheering each other on along the way. Swift became a fixture at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium when her tour dates permitted, and managed a wild feat of time zone management and air travel to make it to Las Vegas from Japan in time to watch the Chiefs take the W in the big game and provide victory smooches and go to karaoke after. For his part, Kelce trotted to multiple continents including South America, Australia, Asia, Europe (a bunch of times, including an on-stage cameo), and, of course, home sweet North America.

It makes sense that Kelce would keep that streak of Eras tour appearances going: It was an important part of their origin story. He saw Swift perform in his adopted hometown of Kansas City in July 2023 and tried to shoot his shot with his then-crush by delivering a beaded friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. It didn’t work, he moaned on an episode of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with brother Jason Kelce, saying, “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least, she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal. But it was an unbelievable show.” That got Swift’s attention, evidently. As she revealed in an interview with TIME, “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.”

“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she said. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”

Lauren Alaina is married to Cameron Arnold after four years together.

The American Idol runner-up, 29, and Arnold tied the knot at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday, February 4. The duo exchanged vows in front of 450 guests, including Jason and Brittany Aldean, Hardy and Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney.

“Here’s the funny thing: I wanted a small wedding and Cameron wanted a big wedding,” Alaina told People, adding that she and Arnold had a “big, loud” celebration. “So we compromised — and had a 450-person guest list. I think it’s just a reflection of how fortunate we are — we have a lot of people who love us and we love a lot of people.”

Prior to her romance with Arnold, Alaina was previously engaged to her high-school boyfriend, Alex Hopkins, who popped the question in July 2018. The duo split in January 2019, and although she moved on with comedian John Crist four months later, they broke it off in September 2019.

Christian, for his part, has shared various details about his life leading up to NFL fame — especially how his dad prepared him to become a professional football player at 8 years old.

“He had us doing dynamic warmups dude. No sodas, bedtime 7:30,” Christian shared on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast in March 2023. “They would take our phone ‘til I left for high school, at a time. He’s going to hate me for saying all this, but it worked.”

He added, “Diet was always important. Sleep was always important. Now, we were kids, man. We could go over to the friends’ house, it wasn’t anything like that. But when it came to sports and to school, it was, ‘Hey if you want to be here, here are the things you need to do.’”

Christian’s mom, Lisa, is a podcast host. She and football reporter Ashley Adamson are the voices behind the “Your Mom” podcast.

When it comes to having kids in the NFL, Lisa made it clear that she never pushed any of her sons to find success in sports.

“Who knows if they are going to be talented or not,” she told The Denver Post in 2015. “But I want them to be involved in what they love. If that’s books or music, that’s a good thing, too.”

  • Is Saoirse Ronan Engaged or Just Wearing a Very Nice Ring?

Is Saoirse Ronan Engaged or Just Wearing a Very Nice Ring?

Irish actor and four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan may be engaged to be married, or she just has really stunning taste in jewelry. Actually, great taste whether it’s an engagement ring or not.

Ronan has been spotted wearing a ring with a large stone on her left-hand ring finger, sparking rumors she might be headed toward marriage. Earlier in October, she sported it while leaving a fashion show, and she was seen wearing it while walking a dog with partner Jack Lowden, a fellow actor, on Sunday. The dog’s name is Fran. The ring’s significance remains unconfirmed.

Ronan and Lowden acted opposite one another in 2018’s Mary Queen of Scots, in which Ronan’s marry reluctantly agrees to marry Lord Darnley (played by Lowden). They cause a constitutional crisis with their marriage, and then Darnley is discovered in bed with Mary’s private secretary, David Rizzio. Oops.

Ronan and Lowden also co-founded a production company, Arcade Pictures, together.

In February, Lowden told Esquire UK that producing with Ronan was “a great adventure.”

“Saoirse is, first and foremost, one of the best actors in the world, so to work with her in that way and help in any way I could was great,” he said. “It’s hopefully the first of many—it was wonderful.”

Ronan, too, speaks highly of Lowden, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “When a person you respect as much as I do him says that, it means more than anyone else’s opinion.”

When asked if that praise was as good as an Oscar, she responded, “Well, I mean, an Oscar would also help.”

Representatives for Ronan and Lowden did not immediately return requests for comment.

  • Nick Viall Had ‘Insecurities’ When He Started Dating Natalie Joy

Nick Viall Had ‘Insecurities’ When He Started Dating Natalie Joy

Nick Viall’s “insecurities” made him hesitant to start a long-term relationship with now-fiancée Natalie Joy.

“We were long distance,” Viall, 43, explained while appearing on Kristin Cavallari’s “Let’s Be Honest” podcast on Tuesday, October 31. “I was worried we might be in different places of our lives. But she was like, ‘I think we should date here’s why. Here’s how I feel about you, take it or leave it.’”

Joy, 25, initially “peaced out” after Viall “didn’t come around” to her feelings, but he eventually got her back.

“When I first met her, I thought she was beautiful,” Viall recalled on the podcast episode. “I was surprised by how much I enjoyed her company early on and then she quickly integrated with my friends, and they liked her.”

After two seasons of The Bachelorette and his own season of The Bachelor, Nick Viall has found love with Natalie Joy. The “Viall Files” host and surgical technologist were first linked by fans in 2019, but speculation about their relationship didn’t start heating up until 2020. In February 2021, shortly after the pair first went […]

He added, “As we kept hanging out, I think it was just her general confidence and the fact that she was very clear — we wouldn’t be together if it weren’t for her.”

Viall and Joy started dating after she slid into the former Bachelor star’s DMs. They took their relationship public in January 2021.

“Natalie is the first woman I’ve been with where we have so many little things in common that I took for granted,” Viall told Cavallari, 36. “Liking the same foods. Liking the same shows. Doing the same things. … Every day isn’t a struggle.”

After more than two years together, Viall proposed to Joy in January. The couple announced in August that they are expecting their first baby together, a daughter.

Viall previously spoke about the “romantic” way that his relationship with Joy began.

“We kind of kept hanging out, and she finally got to a point where she was like, ‘I want to date,’ and I was kind of like, ‘I don’t know,’” he recalled on the “Viall Files” podcast in February 2021. “She was just like, ‘OK, this is what I want. It’s fine, no big deal, but I’m gonna go do my thing,’ and she did and I was like, ‘What?!’ … She went and showed me exactly what I’d be missing.”

While the duo are gearing up to tie the knot and become first-time parents, Viall has been open about how much Joy has taught him about love.

“Not only taught me, but she’s shown me how to be present,” he gushed to Us Weekly exclusively in October 2022. “And she has shown me just how important it is to take the time in any moment — whether you’re getting a coffee at a barista or you’re checking out at the grocery store, those little moments of seeing people and making them feel validated is really special on a day-to-day basis and especially in a relationship.”

  • I Was Overjoyed To Get Engaged At 19. Then, Like With Millie Bobby Brown, The Comments Began.

I Was Overjoyed To Get Engaged At 19. Then, Like With Millie Bobby Brown, The Comments Began.

When Millie Bobby Brown posted what appeared to be an engagement announcement to Jake Bongiovi on Instagram, it nearly broke the internet. While some commenters offered congratulations, many people couldn’t get over the fact that she is 19. In fact, “She’s 19” trended on Twitter soon after she posted the news.

I was 19 when my boyfriend of two years dropped to his knees on the beach at sunset and asked me in his nervously awkward but oh-so-endearing way if I would marry him.

I didn’t hesitate to say yes. He swept me into his arms and kissed me, relief surging through every muscle of his body. We watched what should have been the sunset over the water but the horizon had filled with stunning lightning strikes that punctuated the dark sky in the distance.

Then we headed into town to celebrate. I was too young to toast our engagement with Champagne, so we got ice cream cones at Dairy Queen. The heat and humidity of that July evening melted them and, as we strolled through the quaint seaside town, the chocolate dripped down my arms and onto my pink dress, which still hangs in my closet all these years later.

When we excitedly broke the news to our families, most of our relatives thought we were too young, too naive, and didn’t have enough of a practical life plan to get married.

They weren’t completely wrong about that last part. My recently-graduated-from-college fiancé was having trouble finding a job, and I had only just finished my sophomore year of college and was bouncing from one creative major to the next, leaving most people to question my less-than-traditional career ambitions.

My late 30s self now recognizes how absurd this must have seemed to everyone around us. We had nothing figured out except that we each had found our person. There was no plan. All we knew is we wanted to start our life together by having the world legally recognize that we were on the same team.

Unlike Brown and Bongiovi, we didn’t have to face backlash from the Twitterverse or the rest of the hellscape known as social media because (1) we aren’t famous but also (2) none of that existed at the time of our engagement. Yet, we still faced so much criticism, especially from the people closest to us.

At least three different older adults sat me down and tried to talk me out of getting married ― or at the very least waiting.

People pelted us with questions like “Are you going to quit school?” and “How are you going to pay for things?” and “You’re too young to know what you want.”

The last one was my favorite because I heard it from the same people who had always told me how stubborn and single-minded I am when I do know what I want.

And I knew what I wanted.

I wanted to marry the awkward ― but awesome ― young man that I was certain loved me with his whole self.

Despite our insistence that this was right for us and that we’d figure things out as we went, most people refused to get on board with our plans, and our wedding approached with little fanfare from them. No one offered to plan a big splashy bridal shower or bachelor and bachelorette parties for us, as they’d done for other, older family members who had gotten engaged.

A cousin of mine who had gotten married a few years earlier felt bad that I was missing out on all the traditional celebratory things that she had just experienced and put together a lovely bridal luncheon for me. I hadn’t gone to her wedding and we didn’t know each other particularly well at the time since we lived several states apart and have an age gap between us, but even now I’m still touched by her kind gesture.

My then-fiancé put together a very small surprise shower in someone’s apartment. It was simple, unfussy, and totally unlike the big affairs that are so common for engaged couples. But he made me feel loved by making sure I had this experience and now I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Our wedding planning chugged forward despite all the naysaying. Since I had the good fortune to win a large sum of cash on a game show, we paid for our dream wedding with my prize money and held a casual oceanside event with 40 guests that took place just steps from where we got engaged.

One family member strode up to my soon-to-be mother-in-law on the morning of the wedding and told her that the marriage was a bad idea because I would grow tired of her son. Other than that, most of the friends and family who had warned us against getting married did end up attending. Their approach to us formalizing our relationship was less celebratory and more “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” We didn’t care ― we were just thrilled we were getting married and about to officially start our lives together.

The early days of our marriage were definitely a financial struggle, but they were fairly happy days despite that. We very rarely argued and we supported each other.

We spent our first few years sleeping on an air mattress as we each tried to find a career path that suited our goals both individually and as a couple. I chased my dreams of acting and photography. My husband was a grad student getting a degree in a field he later figured out he hated.

We worked long hours and were both frustrated when we reached professional milestones only to discover that they didn’t make us any happier then we’d been or kept us from spending time together. We both changed careers.

We finally started making a little money and bought a real mattress and then, eventually, a fixer-upper on a quiet country road. The Great Recession hit us a couple of years in and we were poor again, struggling to pay our mortgage and stay afloat. We each switched careers again, trying to find something that would allow us to prioritize our vision for what we wanted our family life to be like.

After a lot of trial and error, we’ve found freelancing suits us and allows both of us to work at home and be with each other and our kids. We’ve fallen into a happy rhythm, starting the day drinking our coffee together and ending the day by putting the kids to bed together, each of us singing one bedtime song ― with lots of adventures and outings and fun in the hours in between.

Despite how happy we are ― and have been since we said “I do” all those years ago — I understand why there’s so much worry about people making a huge life decision like marriage at a young age. It’s a big risk and it doesn’t always work out. But I still believe when you know, you know ― and if any of our children choose that path, we will support them (with the caveat that the person they choose to marry treats them with the love and respect they deserve).

Even though we had no idea how our lives would work in the future, we figured it out ― together. We survived the naiveté of youth, career changes, and the devastating loss of one of our twin sons because we’ve always had each other’s backs. All of the things that have tested our relationship and could have broken us apart have only made us more sure of the strength of our marriage. I know no matter what happens in the future, as long as we have each other, we’ll be OK.

I think even though I certainly didn’t know much at 19, I did know that.

My husband was my person then, and now, almost 20 years later, he still is ― even after all the growing up and changing we’ve both done.

We’ve been happily married for 17 years and I can say without a doubt we proved the critics wrong. I know our choices aren’t for everyone, but I wouldn’t change a thing. If I could do it all over again, I would, and I wish Millie and Jake all the best.

  • Justin Long and Kate Bosworth Confirm Their Engagement

Justin Long and Kate Bosworth Confirm Their Engagement

Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are planning on spending the rest of their lives together.

On the latest episode of the actor’s podcast, Life is Short with Justin Long, he interviewed his new fiancée about their relationship and shared the romantic story behind his proposal. Bosworth explained that they decided to address this happy news together, “because we’re probably gonna be asked about it and we thought, ‘Well, how can we talk about this in a way that makes us feel the best,’ and we thought, ‘Oh, I’d really like to just talk about it with you.’” Long then went on to reveal that his proposal didn’t go exactly as he originally intended. “I did have a special thing planned around [Kate’s] birthday and about a month before that, we were talking about, things change, and sometimes they change pretty drastically without any warnings.” He continued, “It was a moment where it just felt so organic and it felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through, like, a real life change, and so it came out in a very organic way.”

Bosworth then shared her version of the event, recalling, “We had just gone through this really hard thing and we had spoken to a therapist and we were trying to move through things at the time and she gave us a really great piece of advice which was: Make sure that you’re pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need.” She added, “I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session and I looked at Justin and I said…I remember, I smiled at you, and I said, ‘What do you need?’ And he, like, really looked at me and he said, ‘To spend my life with you.’ And I smiled and I said, ‘Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that,’ and he said, ‘No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you.’” Long revealed that that moment, “was the easiest…the words just came out, like, so naturally.” His new fiancée noted, “I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal.”

The couple initially sparked rumors that they might be engaged last month after Bosworth was photographed wearing a large, new diamond ring at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. The Blue Crush star and Long first met while filming Barbarian together in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2021 and, by December of that year, news broke that the pair were officially an item. In April 2022, Long hinted that a wedding could very much be in their future, going so far as to call Bosworth “the one” during a conversation with Bachelor star Nick Viall on his podcast The Viall Files. “I had gotten to a place where…I was comfortable with myself, I was ready to be—I didn’t know it at the time—but I was ready for the one,” he explained. “And the one I had met…I had found.” He added that keeping their relationship out of the public eye has been complicated as he does “want to scream it from the rooftops, but I also want to be protective. It’s sacred.”
