  • The Pitt Season 2: Why Didn’t Tracy Ifeachor’s Character Return to the Medical Drama?

Jesus House is led by Irukwu, who told The Times in 2015 that his goal was to “reChristianise” Britain. It is part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God denomination, a holiness Pentecostal network headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, which spread across the world in the second half of the 20th century, following the country’s diaspora. In 2022, one Nigerian Pentecostal bishop estimated that RCCG churches exist in 200 countries, and there are numerous outposts in the New York City area as well.

Though left-leaning UK citizens have criticized Jesus House—as leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer issued an apology after he visited and praised the church in April 2021—it is still considered part of the country’s religious mainstream. King Charles visited the church twice as the Prince of Wales, once in 2007 and again in 2021. Irukwu was invited to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth as a faith representative in September 2022. In May 2023, he was again on the officiating list for the king’s coronation.

According to the Jesus House Instagram account, Ifeachor’s Q&A session with the pastor’s wife, Sola Irukwu, covered topics such as “standing firm in faith” and how to “navigate being a Christian in the marketplace.” In a reel filmed at the conference, Ifeachor added that she doesn’t like to “compartmentalize” her public persona from her faith. “You are a whole person—that you’re not a Christian here but not-a-Christian there,” she said. “You might not feel like you are the right person to share the gospel or whatever it is. But sometimes your life is a whole prayer; it is a testimony.”

Ifeachor’s exit from The Pitt was confirmed on July 10 of 2025. By July 11, her representative was emphasizing to The Mirror US that the actor is not homophobic: “Any rumors about Tracy participating in any discrimination through her religion are completely incorrect, defamatory, and hurtful,” he said. “This gossip could not be further from the truth. She is a woman who leads with love, kindness, and compassion, and as her very gay publicist, I can say that I see this daily, firsthand.”

If there were any behind-the-scenes issues on the set of The Pitt, it wouldn’t be the first time a medical drama fostered a contentious work environment. A year after Grey’s Anatomy premiered in 2005 and became a massive hit for ABC, reports emerged that Isaiah Washington used a homophobic slur during an on-set argument; in the following months, his costar T.R. Knight came out as gay in a statement to People. Washington apologized for the incident publicly, then revoked his apology in a backstage interview at the 2007 Golden Globes. Following the Globes, Washington apologized for using the slur, but when alluding to the incident in 2020, claimed that he had a right to exercise “free speech.” Eventually, his character, Dr. Preston Burke, was written off the show. (Burke leaves his fiancée, Dr. Cristina Yang, at the altar during the show’s second season finale; Washington did return to the show for a guest appearance in 2014.)

Grey’s Anatomy is now in its 22nd season, and Ellen Pompeo continues to play its title character, Meredith Grey. “The first 10 years we had serious culture issues, very bad behavior, really toxic work environment,” Pompeo said in a 2019 interview with Variety. She added that she only continued in the role afterward because there were “some big shifts in front of the camera, behind the camera” as time went on.

  • My Week—Or Three—at The White Lotus

My cell phone rang. Danielle and Este explained that they were so sorry, but they actually had to leave. That they couldn’t push their flight after all. They had already canceled the charter that would take us to Koh Phangan, but would I be okay staying here by myself? While my mouth was saying, “No problem,” my body was frozen in the terror of finally, and literally, being alone. I looked out at the sea. The full moon rose. The Thai fishing boats, with their Gatsby green lights, chugged into place. There were major pieces missing from my life—a boyfriend, meaningful career success, children of my own. And yet a voice inside me asked a simple question: Could I be happy with everything I had in this moment, which was everything? The answer, of course, was yes.

For the rest of the trip, I woke every day at dawn, refusing to waste even one minute of my remaining time in Thailand, and more generally, on earth. If I was going to be like a character on The White Lotus, at least I wanted a redeeming arc. Dave invited me, this time personally, to come meet him and his traveling circus on their next stop. I no longer wondered if I was overstaying my welcome. I booked a ticket to Phuket.

Phuket was significantly hotter and crawling with tourists. Jellyfish the size of pizzas would wash up on the beach. We mourned the Four Seasons. We mocked ourselves for mourning the Four Seasons. It turns out that it is hard to live in the atmosphere of The White Lotus and not become the type of person The White Lotus condemns.

Every night at sunset I would join the more aquatically inclined actors and their families for a swim in the sea. I became particularly close to the heart of the crew, whom I jokingly nicknamed the Wives of The White Lotus—Iris Apatow, Emma Hewitt, and Tana Kamine. Since I was free from the obsession of my own interiority, we could go on adventures to winding alleyways full of shops and off-the-beaten-path restaurants, and take boat rides, followed by canoe rides, into bat-infested caves.

In total, I stayed in Thailand with the cast and crew of The White Lotus for three weeks. When I announced to Emma, Parker, and Dave that I was leaving, their hands flew to the sky in despair.

“Why?!” they asked me, and they had a point. I had become so disconnected from my life I didn’t really have anything to go home to—my friends in LA had started new relationships, left old jobs. I knew it was time to go when it became harder to leave than it was to stay. I texted my ex’s mom. I was finally ready to take back whatever detritus—ankle weights, a few tangled G-strings—that I had left with her son. For my last night in Thailand we had a goodbye dinner with so many people they had to give us a table inside. I had been swimming in the ocean until the very last second and was now shivering. As a last act of kindness, Walton walked back to his villa, the closest to the restaurant, to get me a shirt.

I cannot understate the surreality of later watching these same people, in this same place, transform into totally different people on television. I took the long way back to my hotel room, and got lost in the snaking outdoor alleyways between villas. Somehow I ended up back at the restaurant, where outside White was enjoying a private moment by the pool. I hadn’t seen him since Pig Island and now here I was, almost three weeks later, half wet in a bikini, covered in sand.

He turned to me, eyes bulging.

    “Are you still here?”

  • SNL creator Lorne Michaels breaks silence on controversial casting cuts

SNL creator Lorne Michaels has come under fire in recent weeks for a series of shocking cast cuts that left fans in disbelief. With seasoned stars like Ego Nwodim and Heidi Gardner leaving the show, as well as newer talent like Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow, many SNL diehards have been calling for its cancelation. Lorne broke his silence on the casting situation on the Emmys red carpet on Monday, explaining that it was normal for the show to continue fostering new talent.

“The show has always brought people in from different ages and different generations, and it’s how it revives itself,” he told Entertainment Tonight“It’s always hard when people leave, but there’s a time for that, and our audience has always stayed relatively young, and more so now with TikTok. Change is good. The people we’re bringing in, I’m really excited about.”

SNL‘s freshest faces include Ben Marshall, Veronika Slowikowska, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane and Kam Patterson, while the show’s returning players are Mikey Day, Sarah Sherman, Marcello Hernández, Andrew Dismukes, James Austin Johnson, Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman. The mass exodus occurred after the SNL50 anniversary special, which won the Emmy for Best Variety Special on Monday night.

Lorne revealed that the project took two years to prepare, and “when it was finally over, that was both exciting and something of a relief”. SNL beat out other contenders, including Netflix’s Beyoncé Bowl, Apple Music’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar and The Oscars to nab the top prize.

“I was younger and I had a lot of dreams about what would happen in my life, and one of my dreams was that I’d still be doing the same show for 50 years,” Lorne told the audience during his acceptance speech. “I want to thank NBC and Comcast for their support. The show was two years in the planning, and they said, ‘We don’t care what it costs, as long as it’s good.’”

Lorne won an Emmy for the SNL50 variety special

“Maybe that didn’t say that, maybe that’s just the way I heard it. I also wanted to thank the Academy for continuing to keep the word ‘television’ in their name, as long as it’s in that, we’ll keep showing up,” he added. While the departing cast members shared touching tributes about their time on the show, many viewers wondered at the decision to cut so many fan-favorites from the series.

Fans said goodbye to Ego Nwodim amid the cast cuts

Bowen Yang, one of SNL‘s most famous players, opened up about his decision to stay despite worries that he planned to exit the show and pursue other interests. “I’ve always gone by the instinct of, do I have more to do? And I feel like I do,” he told People“Even Lorne and I talked about it, and Lorne was like, ‘You have more to do,’ and that means a lot, because I even confessed to him. I was like, ‘I feel the audience is maybe getting sick of me.’ And he was like, ‘That’s not true. There’s more for you to do. I need you.’”

“I have to honor that. That man has changed my life, and I owe a lot of my life to that show. And I love working there, the people are the best. I really love each of them so much,” he added.

  • Sofia Vergara Skips Emmys 2025 Due to Medical Emergency

One previously announced celebrity presenter was missing in action at Sunday night’s 2025 Emmys ceremony. Though Modern Family star Sofia Vergara was supposed to present the award for outstanding performance by an actor in a limited series or movie, the five-time Emmy nominee was nowhere to be found at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. On Instagram, Vergara revealed that she was forced to skip the ceremony due to a medical emergency.

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Vergara posted a selfie, featuring her very swollen and puffy left eye. “Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER 🤣😩sorry I had to cancel,” she wrote. “Craziest eye allergie [sic] right before getting in the car!🤣🤣.” In one of the carousel videos shared, Vergara can also be seen lying on a hospital bed, waiting for her doctor. In another video, you can see the Griselda star at the hospital rinsing her eye out with water.  Stars like Terry Crews responded in Vergara’s comments section, writing, “Oh no! Get well soon!” Snoop Dogg also responded with the prayer hands emoji.

To replace Vergara, the Emmys brought out not one, but two actresses who know how to meld beauty and comedy. The Emmys producers called upon Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow to pinch-hit and present the category. The two actresses playfully nodded toward their characters’ arcs on Netflix’s Texas-set melodrama while presenting the award to Adolescence star Stephen Graham.

“Wow, it took me a really long time to get here. Sorry I took so long to come out,” said Snow. “I don’t mind waiting for you to come out,” responded Akerman, to delight of the crowd. “Thank you for the help,” responded Snow.

Hunting Wives has been renewed for a second season—so perhaps next year, Akerman, Snow, and an allergy free Vergara will all attend the ceremony together.

  • Emmys 2025: What You Didn’t See on TV

The winners have been revealed, the trophies handed out, and the acceptance speeches have been delivered. But that’s not the end of the story for the 2025 Emmys. Vanity Fair’s Rebecca Ford and John Ross were inside the Peacock Theater for the ceremony and roaming the afterparties once the last prize was handed out (to HBO Max’s The Pitt), spying all the celebrity interactions that didn’t make it onto your TV.

Look below to learn which afterparty had the most dancing, who was caught walking barefoot out of the theater, and which winner had nothing prepared for an acceptance speech—but made up for it by recycling old podcast jokes.

A Blast from the Past During Commercials

During commercial breaks, the audience in the Peacock Theater was shown “Emmy flashback” clips—some of the most memorable moments from previous years. The list included Meryl Streep’s 2004 Emmy acceptance speech for Angels in America, in which she said, “There are some days when I myself think I’m overrated—but not today.” The audience also saw Alan Alda’s 1979 cartwheel and 2011, when Amy Poehler orchestrated a lovely idea: having all her fellow nominees, including Melissa McCarthy, Tina Fey, Edie Falco, and Laura Linney, join her on stage before the category’s result was announced. (The winner was McCarthy.) These clips reminded the audience how impactful a great acceptance speech can be—and maybe gave this year’s group of future winners some inspiration before they took the stage.

    Cheesy Concessions

The cheesiest thing about the Emmys, in our opinion, is the concessions sold in the lobby. The lines are always horrendous, and the offerings range from nachos to hot dogs. Because that’s exactly what you want to eat when wearing your black tie finest. To quench your thirst, you have to choose between cans of beer. or cans of wine. But in a fun twist, there’s no VIP section—which means that nominees are standing in line like the rest of us. Among them on Sunday night was Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio. Can’t imagine what he thinks of this food.

    Lobby Hob-Nobbing

After the first hour of the show, the lobby at the Emmys starts to get crowded. By this point in the slow, a good portion of the nominees have lost and are ready to let loose a bit more—while others are just really hungry because they haven’t eaten all day. Shrinking’s Brett Goldstein was there, surrounded by fans, and The White Lotus siblings Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook were munching on popcorn and chatting in the corner. Taika Waititi ran up to give What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén a quick hug. Guillén bought Red Vines at the snack area, while Sirens nominee Meghann Fahy and a friend grabbed a can of chilled red wine after posing for a photo with a fan.

A Rush to the Stage, and a Barefoot Exit

When The Pitt was announced as the final winner of the night (for drama series), a few members of that team must not have been expecting the announcement. We spotted them running down the aisle from the lobby to join the rest of their team onstage; they made it in time, but it’s the fastest we’ve ever seen someone run in that room. Separately, when the show ended, The Bear’s Molly Gordon was spotted leaving the theater without shoes on. Quite brave to walk those downtown Los Angeles streets barefoot!

    Having a Ball

Right after the show, winners, nominees, and other partygoers make their way to the Governors Ball. This year’s event had different food stations set up by former Top Chef competitors. Along with getting a bite to eat or a drink, winners take this opportunity to get their names added to their new hardware at an engraving station. Adolescence star Owen Cooper, who won the lead actor in a limited series award, went over with his mom, grabbing his phone out of her purse and taking a photo of the decorative giant Emmy statuette. His parents accepted a free bottle of Johnny Walker Blue on his behalf. (Cooper is just 15.) His Adolescence co-star Stephen Graham arrived a bit later at the station; while Graham was waiting for one of his three trophies to be finished, he was dancing along to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” with his son.

On the way from the ceremony to the Ball, Severance Emmy winner Tramell Tillman couldn’t take more than two steps without being stopped and congratulated by fans, as well as TV Academy members who asked for photos and told him they had voted for him. His co-star Dichen Lachman, who plays Gemma on the show, ran up to him to give him a hug.

As Graham left the Governor’s Ball, he ran into fellow winner Noah Wyle and congratulated him profusely, telling the other actor, “Your performance was beautiful.” Graham spoke in detail to Wyle, specifically about the scene in which Dr. Robby has a breakdown. (No spoilers here!) While the two actors chatted, their respective spouses hugged and got to know one another.

  • Colman Domingo Clarifies Reaction After Losing Emmy to Jeff Hiller

Colman Domingo clarified his reaction to Jeff Hiller’s victory at the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14.

Hiller, 49, won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Somebody Somewhere, fending off competition from Domingo, 55, for his role in The Four Seasons, Shrinking’s Harrison Ford and Michael Urie, The Studio’s Ike Barinholtz, The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Saturday Night Live favorite Bowen Yang.

As Hiller’s name was called out Sunday, Domingo, Urie and Yang appeared surprised before breaking out into applause and cheering for the actor, as pointed out by one viewer on X.

Domingo commented on the post late Sunday night, writing, “Actually, we all are reacting lovingly to our colleague who we know deserves so many flowers. He is a gem. Bravo Jeff!”

Hiller won his first-ever Emmy on Sunday for playing Joel in HBO’s hit comedy Somebody Somewhere.

Collecting the award, the comedian said, “I feel like I’m gonna cry because the past 25 years I’ve been like, ‘World, I wanna be an actor,’ and the world’s like, ‘Maybe computers.’”

Hiller went on to thank his husband, artist Neil Goldberg, and costar Bridget Everett, who plays Somebody Somewhere lead character Sam Miller.

“Thank you to my sweet husband and my family for never laughing at me. And most of all, thank you, Bridget Everett. You’ve changed my life, and you told so many people to believe in themselves, and they do,” he said.

  • 2025 Emmys Highlights: PDA and What You Didn’t See on TV

It was the night of nights for Hollywood’s television industry — and action rolled even when the cameras didn’t.

Staged inside Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Sunday, September 14, the 2025 Emmy Awards brought together the year’s most acclaimed actors and actresses, leading to an incredible star-studded gathering caught in person by Us Weekly.

Celebrating exceptional performances and behind the scenes work in TV, host Nate Bargatze opened the night with an unconventional bang, roping in three Saturday Night Live cast members (Bowen Yang, Austin Johnson and Mikey Day) to set up an unexpected skit and kick off a night of entertainment.

The opener set the tone — this Emmys was full of surprises, especially when it came to the sought-after statutes themselves.

Despite 10 nominations, The White Lotus walked away without a single accolade, as did The Bear, which was up for six awards. Netflix series Nobody Wants This left empty-handed too, failing to convert its own three nominations.

But the most talked-about surprises undoubtedly arrived off the stage. Scroll down to see what you didn’t catch on TV.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Enjoyed a Date Night

The husband and wife duo were seen whispering in each other’s ears, visibly enjoying their night out together. As some Emmy winners strived — but failed — to keep their acceptance speech under 45 seconds to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club, the pair appeared particularly amused by the donation count’s hilarious decline.

This Is Us Star Justin Hartley May Have Instigated Sterling K. Brown’s Scooter

Before Brown was spotted on stage with a knee scooter, Hartley was seen saying, “Chin up” to his former costar, who in fact arrived to the Emmys on crutches. Following the interaction, an Emmys official brought a scooter out for Brown, who had torn his Achilles tendon prior to the ceremony.

Photo: Valerie Macon/AFP via Getty Images

According to Nate Bargatze, nobody watched Succession “in the grand scheme of things.” But those who did had to watch him tonight, as the famously milquetoast comedian hosted the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, where the crème de la crème of post-prestige television duked it out for a couple shelves’ worth of trophies. The Studio beat The Bear for the most wins for a comedy series in a single year, while The Pitt reigned supreme in its rivalry with Severance and Britt Lower pulled an upset in Lead Actress in a Drama over Kathy Bates. • Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen Win Emmys 2025 Humanitarian Award

Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen were honored with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2025 Emmys.

The Cheers alum, 77, and the Oscar winner, 72, became the first couple to receive the accolade during the Sunday, September 14, awards show at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Danson’s The Good Place costar Kristen Bell and the show’s creator, Michael Schur, presented them with the honor, calling Steenburgen “both a brilliant actress and devoted philanthropist” and Danson “tall and from San Diego, according to a bio his publicist sent over since neither of us is familiar with his acting work.”

The duo put jokes aside to call Danson and Steenburgen “an unstoppable force both on screen and off” before playing a highlight reel of their charity work over the years.

“[This award] is named after a man who’s very name was Hope, and that’s what Bob Hope brought to people for 50 years as he traveled the world entertaining our troops,” Danson began their acceptance speech. “We send our love to his family and our thanks. … There is no honor that would mean more to Mary and me than this one, and the fact that it’s been given to both of us means the world.”

Lights, camera, fashion! The 2025 Emmys have commenced, meaning stars have brought their A-game to the red carpet. This year, the awards are being held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14. Stars including Uzo Aduba, Kristen Bell, Quinta Brunson, Ayo Ederibi and Jean Smart all looked flawless as they hit […]

Steenburgen continued by sharing that the couple receiving the award would have “meant the world” to their parents because it’s about “living the lives they taught us to live.” She told a story about her father, a train conductor, who “played by all the rules at work besides one. When he came across a man down on his luck and hiding in a boxed car, he didn’t put them off the train. He let him ride. And even though I was a child, I understood the beauty in that act of kindness.”

Danson, for his part, shared that his father was an archeologist who “spent most of his life digging up and finding the remnants of past cultures.” He explained that his dad’s job taught him that “this life is not just about us. A lot of people have come before us and a lot of people will come after us. It’s about our stewardship of what we’ve been given.”

Steenburgen continued, “If it’s true that life is made up of two emotions, love and fear, the world’s a little out of balance right now. We don’t want to live in fear. So we work for organizations that move the scale away from fear and put us smack dab in the middle of love.”

The couple concluded their speech by thanking their children and grandchildren, whom they called their “best teachers” and their “beloved community.”

“Together we have a sacred assignment to remind the world of its dreams, its failures, its laughter, its courage and most especially its hope,” Steenburgen said, to which Danson added, “The two of us feel very blessed to spend our lives doing just that with you. Thank you for this honor.”

The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award is presented by the Television Academy’s Board of Governors to individuals in the media industry “whose deeds and actions have a lasting impact on communities and whose philanthropic efforts exemplify Bob Hope’s decades-long altruism and positive impact on society,” according to a July press release.

Danson is a longtime environmentalist and ocean conservation activist, while Steenburgen has collaborated with various organizations such as No Kid Hungry, Oceana and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The couple — who have been married since October 1995 — are also the cofounders of Angels at Risk, a nonprofit that provides resources for children, teenagers and families who are at risk for drug and alcohol abuse as well as outspoken LGBTQ+ allies.

“Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen have long used their voices — and their hearts — to champion causes that uplift the planet and its people,” Cris Abrego, chair of the Television Academy, said in a July statement. “From environmental advocacy to humanitarian relief, they lead with grace, integrity and purpose. The Television Academy is proud to honor their extraordinary legacy of service with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.”

This marks the sixth time the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award has been given out since it was established in 2002. Past recipients include Danny Thomas in 2004, George Clooney in 2010 and Sean Penn in 2022, among others.

Outside of his philanthropic efforts, Danson is a two-time Emmy winner with trophies for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 1990 and 1993 for his role as Sam Malone on Cheers. He has received 18 Emmy nominations throughout his career, including for his performances on Damages and The Good Place.

  • Hannah Einbinder Isn’t Alone: The 2025 Emmys Weren’t Afraid to Get Political

Bardem continued by shouting out Film Workers for Palestine, a group that recently released a pledge, signed by stars including Bardem, Emma Stone, Ayo Edebiri, and Olivia Colman, to boycott Israeli film institutions “implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people.”

“We don’t target people by their identity. That’s absolutely wrong; nobody said that,” Bardem said. “We target film companies and institutions that are complicit and are whitewashing or justifying Israel’s genocide and its apartheid regime. That’s what we’re targeting—not to stand with those who oppress people.”

While talking with Variety on the red carpet, Bardem said that he was “hopeful” for a brighter future in these incredibly bleak times: “There have been so many deaths and children being murdered that the world is waking up.”

Not every political moment at the Emmys had to do with Israel and Palestine. After being introduced by This Is Us star Justin Hartley, the chairman of the Television Academy, Cris Abrego, shed light on the recent shuttering of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. “At the end of this year, CPB will close its doors because Congress has voted to defund it,” Abrego said, to loud boos from the audience. Abrego went on to remind viewers of television’s ability to “bend that arc of history towards justice.”

“Neutrality is not enough. We must be voices for connection, inclusion, empathy,” he continued. “We know that culture doesn’t come from the top down; it rises from the bottom up. Culture belongs to the people. So if our industry is to thrive, we need to make room for more voices, not fewer.”

The political moment of the evening, however, belonged to Stephen Colbert. The host of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on CBS received a standing ovation as he presented the first award of the evening. A vocal critic of President Donald Trump, Colbert’s top-rated late-night show was shockingly canceled by CBS as the network’s parent company, Paramount, waited for the Federal Communications Commission to greenlight a multibillion-dollar merger with Skydance. “Is anyone hiring?” Colbert quipped before shouting out the 200 Late Show staff members who will be out of a job after his late-night series comes to an end in May.

Members of other late-night programs spread the love to Colbert, like the team from Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, who took home the award for outstanding writing for a variety series. Senior writer Daniel O’Brien opened his speech by saying, “We share this category with all writers of late-night political comedy—while that is still a type of show that’s allowed to exist.”

The love in the room for Colbert and his program was palpable even before The Late Show was announced as the winner of outstanding talk series. After that envelope was opened, Colbert received the loudest applause of the night as well as the biggest standing ovation of the evening. As Colbert made his way onto the stage, there were audible chants of “Stephen! Stephen!” filling the room.

Before the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, the Emmys 2025 red carpet captured what’s proving to be a very exciting time in fashion. Following a series of new appointments to some of fashion’s biggest houses, viewers were treated to a variety of looks on the red carpet – so it’s no wonder a series of award-worthy looks stole the show before the ceremony even began.

  • Emmys 2025 Red Carpet: All the Fashion, Outfits, and Looks

The Emmys 2025 red carpet is must-see TV. Whether your Sunday nights are sacrosanct and reserved solely for appointment viewing, or you prefer to binge shows long after they’ve aired, eager to finally see what all the hype is about, the Emmys 2025 are where the best in American prime-time programming is celebrated.

Hours before the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are broadcast from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, the fun starts on the Emmys 2025 red carpet. With stars from Severance, The Pitt, The Studio, Adolescence, The White Lotus, The Penguin, The Diplomat, Slow Horses, Paradise, The Last of Us, and Bad Sisters, among others, all nominated, the Emmys 2025 red carpet will be the place to strike a pose for a sea of photographers, reunite with fellow cast members, and stop for interviews—all while dressed to the nines.

As for what to expect once the ceremony begins? Here’s what you need to know: Comedian Nate Bargatze is slated to host. Severance, Apple TV+’s sci-fi psychological thriller, leads this year’s pack of nominees with 27 nominations (including nods for Creative Arts Emmys, which were awarded last week), with Adam Scott and Britt Lower nominated, respectively, for outstanding lead actor and lead actress in a drama series. Which leads one to wonder: Will their innies or their outies be in attendance? (It is job-related, after all.) Furthermore, what might they wear on the Emmys 2025 red carpet?

Just behind the dystopian series is The Penguin, HBO’s Batman spin-off, which earned 24 nominations (including nods for Cristin Milioti and Colin Farrell). The Studio, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s satirical series, racked up 23 nominations, as did the Mike White–directed White Lotus. Emmy nominees Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, and Aimee Lou Wood might have checked out of the fictional resort, but will they take home an Emmy statuette as a souvenir?

Below, see all the fashion from the Emmys 2025 red carpet. For more from the Emmys 2025, stay up to date with Vanity Fair’s live blog.

  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Michelle Williams, and More Celebrate at FX and Vanity Fair Pre-Emmys Party

Hosted at the historic Chateau Marmont, the opulent cocktail party unfolded across the hotel’s cozy living room and lavish outdoor terrace, where about 180 guests from the network sipped on cocktails and nibbled on lobster rolls, wagyu sliders and fries. The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach was the first guest to arrive with his wife, photographer Yelena Yemchuk. Last year, Moss-Bachrach won his second consecutive Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy series for playing Richie, an abrasive friend of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) who finds redemption after a period of personal loss and struggle. His winning streak at the Emmys may not have come to an end yet: Moss-Bachrach is nominated once again in the same category at Sunday’s ceremony, and is a top contender to win a third time.

“I never really dreamed or thought about winning awards. I was just trying to get jobs to pay my bills,” said Moss-Bachrach while taking a quick breather from mingling. “I feel very gratified that something I care so deeply about has been accepted and lauded by my community and the world. It feels really great. I know I’m lucky.”

Carmen Christopher, Enrico Colantoni, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Stephanie Koenig, and Sean Patton.

    Photograph by Nick Riley Bentham.

Moss-Bachrach set the party’s lively tone, making the rounds and socializing with nearly everyone. He caught up with his Bear costars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Edwin Lee Gibson, Matty Matheson, and Molly Gordon, as well as his Brooklyn neighbors Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys (who famously fell in love while starring on FX’s The Americans). At one point, Moss-Bachrach even exchanged phone numbers with Jenny Slate, a nominee for her work in Dying For Sex. Later in the evening, he connected with Michael Chiklis, the 2002 best actor Emmy winner for the FX police drama series The Shield. The two laughed as a guest noted that had played The Thing in different versions of the Fantastic Four franchise.

  • Ron Howard’s brother insists ‘we’re just people’ with jobs as he shrugs off fame despite Hollywood dynasty

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Despite his brother being an Academy Award-winning director, his niece’s bona fides as an action movie star, and his prolific acting résumé, Clint Howard stresses his family isn’t “anything special.”

“I understand that, yeah, what Ron [Howard] and I have done is very unique,” Clint Howard told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “We’re just people that make a living. We’re just people that have jobs and, you know, yeah, our jobs are creative, our jobs are creative. That doesn’t mean we’re anything special.”

He also praised Ron’s daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, 44, who starred in three films of the “Jurassic World” franchise.

“Bryce is a wonderful, wonderful person, great, great mother, great leader amongst her friends,” Clint gushed. “She’s directing now, and she likes to act, and she’s really humble about it all.”

RON HOWARD’S GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY MOVE WILL HAVE YOUNG LOVERS TAKING NOTES

Clint, 66, and Ron, 71, both started in the business as children, with Ron playing Opie Taylor on “The Andy Griffith Show” starting in 1960 and Clint finding fame on “Gentle Ben” in 1967.

Since then, Clint has done everything from “The Jungle Book” to “Seinfeld” to “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and several incarnations of “Star Trek,” and Ron is a celebrated director of movies like “Splash,” “Parenthood,” “Apollo 13,” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

He also won two Oscars for “A Beautiful Mind” in 2002, and was nominated for best director and best picture in 2008 for “Frost/Nixon.”

The two brothers are also celebrating the fact that they are each up for their first acting Emmys this year: Ron for his guest spot on “The Studio,” and Clint for his 13-episode turn on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

RON HOWARD’S DAUGHTER HAD ‘MESSED-UP’ CHILDHOOD FIXATION THAT WORRIED HER PARENTS

“I know in heaven, somewhere, my mom is up there just beaming, beaming that her boys got nominated for Emmys,” Clint said. “And it’s pretty wacky. I mean, the fact is I think this is one of the first times that two brothers have been nominated in the same year for Emmys. You know, so I’m sure it’s happened … but it’s a wonderful achievement.”

He said while he’ll be attending the Daytime Emmy Awards for his nomination in “The Bold and the Beautiful,” he would be watching the Primetime Emmy Awards from home, “and I hope to God Ron wins.”

Ron has received more than two dozen Emmy nominations in the past for directing and producing, and won a Golden Globe for his acting on “Happy Days” in 1978.

Clint said that from a young age Ron realized he wanted to be a filmmaker, but he was also a “very deserving actor.”

“Actually, my brother’s dream of being a filmmaker started when he was about 16 years old,” he explained, but he said even as a child Ron was an excellent actor.

“I’ll tell you, my brother did a movie called ‘The Courtship of Eddie’s Father’ with Glenn Ford, and Ron was about seven or eight years old at the time,” he said. “And he gave the best performance by a juvenile actor I’ve ever seen. And I’m very critically conscious about what I’m saying. Ron’s work on that movie was frigging awesome.”

Clint said it was “amazing” to him that Ron “had never been nominated for [an acting] Emmy Award considering he’d been in the frigging television business for frigging, I don’t know, it’s going on 70 years now with him.”

Clint has also been in the business for nearly the same amount of time as his big brother, with more than 200 acting credits to his name.

But he didn’t receive his first Emmy nomination until he played homeless man turned rock star Tom Starr on “The Bold and the Beautiful” last fall.

He said that he had originally signed on to do two episodes after doing an improvised audition, “and the next thing you know, I’m on the show.”

The part ballooned from two episodes to 13 until his character was fatally poisoned in a whodunit.

And then, oh, now he’s Tom the homeless guy who has a job because of [character] Deacon’s [Sharpe] restaurant. And then I’m Tom the Homeless Guy with a job who also has a past. Tom the homeless guy was actually Tom Starr, the rock star. And so all of a sudden, I mean, I’m a rock star, and then all of sudden I’m Tom the homeless guy who had a job, who was a rockstar, who drank the blue Gatorade, or whatever it was.”

“It was a wonderful moment,” he admitted. “My wife, Kat, I love her dearly, and she was around the set. They asked her if she’d like to be an extra that day that I die, and I fell into my wife’s arms. When I died, they didn’t have a stuntman, but I trusted my wife would catch me. So everything worked out well.”

He also noted that the pace of doing a soap opera is “second to none.”

RON HOWARD REVEALS WHY ANXIETY OVER ‘HAPPY DAYS’ CHARACTER FONZIE LED TO HAIR LOSS: ‘I KEPT EVERYTHING INSIDE’

There’s a “tremendous amount” of lines to learn in a short period of time,” he said.

“I think my experience working on ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ has only made me a better actor because, you know, you gotta go, you gotta go, You gotta shoot, you gotta shoot … You don’t have a lot of time to screw around,” Clint explained.

Clint has several films coming out soon, he was in the cult horror hit “Terrifier 3,” and he’s developing a reboot to his 1995 slasher film “Ice Cream Man,” revealing that Ron will make a cameo.

“As a little secret here, my brother has agreed to be in the movie,” he said, along with Ron’s daughter Paige Howard, and Clint’s own teenage daughter, Raffie.

Clint has also been directed by his brother multiple times and called him an “actor’s director.”

“I love being directed by Ron,” he told Fox News Digital. “Ron is an actor’s director. You know, there are some directors that don’t know how to handle actors. There’s some directors that don’t understand actors, but Ron does. Ron knows when to goose us, Ron knows to stroke us, and Ron knows when and to allow, I mean, the entertainment business is a collaborative effort. You know, being an actor in show business on movies or television, it’s a collaboration. You’re really only as good as … the people around you and especially the director, you know? And so, I always enjoy being directed by him.”

  • Emmy Nominations 2025: See the Full List Here

Mike White and season three of The White Lotus might be to blame for some of that, as it once again dominated the supporting-actor and supporting-actress categories. Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Aimee Lou Wood, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell were all nominated, posing the eternal question: Who will be the Jennifer Coolidge of 2025? The jury’s still out, though the cast members with the best monologues—Coon and Rockwell—might have a running start.

The 2024 Emmys were rocked when Hacks surged ahead of The Bear, finally beating it for best comedy series. This time around, Hacks also got more total nominations than The Bear—14 to The Bear’s 13—and seems to have more steam, coming off its mostly acclaimed fourth season. But this time around, in the end, both might be steamrolled by The Studio, Seth Rogen’s very insidery and very industry-beloved Hollywood satire. A Rogen acceptance speech, or three—he’s up for directing and writing the show, as well as starring on it—would tie an appropriately meta bow on top of The Studio’s first season.

For now, there’s still time to analyze the Emmy Nominations 2025 list before the 77th annual Emmy Awards kicks off at 8 p.m. September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Those watching from home can watch the ceremony, hosted by first-timer Nate Bargatze, via broadcast on CBS, and can stream it on Paramount+ Premium.
