  • Eagles-49ers Wild Card Round injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles enter their Wild Card Round matchup with the San Francisco very healthy, and also fresh after resting starters Week 18 against the Washington Commanders. The 49ers are missing two of their best defensive players, and were on the wrong end of a very physical Week 18 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Here’s the Eagles-49ers injury report, with analysis.

Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs Fri  Status
    TE Grant Calcaterra  Knee/Ankle  DNP
    iOL Brett Toth  Concussion  DNP
    RT Lane Johnson  Foot  Limited
    iDL Jalen Carter  Hip  Limited
    LB Nakobe Dean  Hamstring  Limited
    TE Dallas Goedert  Knee  Limited
    S Marcus Epps  Concussion  Limited
    EDGE Jaelan Phillips  Ankle  Full
    EDGE Azeez Ojulari  Hamstring  Full

    Wednesday notes:

    • Lane Johnson practiced for the first time in months. That is a welcomed step in his likely return to the field on Sunday.

    • Vic Fangio said on Tuesday that he expects Nakobe Dean to play on Sunday.

    • Jalen Carter appeared on the injury report last week with that hip injury, so that’ll be worth monitoring as the week progresses.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

S Andrew Mukuba (IR, eligible to come off of IR after Week 16): Mukuba has had an up and down rookie season, but was beginning to earn the trust of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. On the season, Mukuba has 46 tackles and 2 INTs. He is eligible to come off of IR, though Fangio said a couple weeks ago that he wasn’t ready. Marcus Epps has started in Makuba’s absence.

WR Johnny Wilson (IR, knee/ankle, out for the season): Wilson is a massive receiver at 6’6, 228 who carved out a dirty work role as a physical blocker his rookie season in 2024, though sometimes he was a little too aggressive, as he committed four penalties (3 holding, 1 OPI). He wasn’t much of a threat as a receiver, catching only 5 passes for 38 yards and a TD. He played a little over 400 snaps, and actually started four games.

EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time, season could be over): Okoronkwo was signed to provide edge depth. He played in just one game (4 snaps) before tearing his triceps.

EDGE Azeez Ojulari (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Ojulari was the presumed third EDGE defender in the pecking order when he signed with the Eagles as a free agent, but he is now no better than the EDGE7.

The Eagles’ opened Ojulari’s 21-day practice window on Tuesday.

FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee, out for the season): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.

iOL Willie Lampkin (IR, season over): Lampkin is an extreme oddity, in that he is a 5’11 offensive lineman who only weighs 290 pounds. He looks like a player you’d create in Madden just for fun. However, coming out of North Carolina he received glowing reviews for his play on the field, and he played well in the preseason after signing with the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent. The Rams waived Lampkin with an injury designation. The Eagles then claimed him and placed him on their IR.

The Eagles activated Lampkin’s 21-day practice window, which expired. He won’t play this season.

OT Myles Hinton (IR, Eagles opened up 21-day practice window on 11/19): Hinton is a sixth-round rookie who was up and down in training camp. The Eagles placed him on IR with a back injury, and he has not been on the active roster all season.

The Eagles activated Hinton’s 21-day practice window, which expired. He won’t play this season.

    S Ji’Ayir Brown  Rib  Full
    DT Kalia Davis  Knee  Full
    WR Jacob Cowing  Hamstring  Full

    Wednesday notes

    • Trent Williams is obviously the Niners’ best offensive lineman, by far. He did not play Week 18 vs. Seattle, and he did not practice on Wednesday. It is expected that he will play on Sunday in Philly, but hamstring injuries can linger, and he very clearly is not 100 percent.

    • Ricky Pearsall is a starting receiver, and probably the Niners’ best deep threat. He did not play Week 18 against the Seahawks, and missed practice on Wednesday.

    • The Niners lost top linebacker Fred Warner for the season way back in Week 6. Warner’s replacement was Tatum Bethune, who tore his groin Week 18 against the Seahawks. His season is over.

The opening day starting linebacker opposite Warner was Dee Winters, who suffered an ankle injury when he got stepped on against Seattle. Winters was second on the team in snaps played in 2025, behind only CB Deommodore Lenoir. In 2025, Winters had 101 tackles, a pick-six, and 5 pass breakups. He did not practice on Wednesday.

The Niners also have to worry about LB Luke Gifford, who earned a trip to the Pro Bowl for his special teams play this season. He also had a role in the regular defense, getting defensive snaps in 15 of the Niners’ regular season games. Gifford has a quad injury, and was limited on Wednesday.

Starting in place of Bethune will be 33-year-old Eric Kendricks. He had 138 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 INTs for Dallas in 2024. In 2025, he has appeared in just 3 games. There are worse players around the league who are starting at linebacker than Kendricks, in my opinion. Still, the Niners have major issues at linebacker.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LB Fred Warner (IR, eligible to return at any time): Warner is considered by some to be the best off-ball linebacker in the NFL, with four First-Team All Pro nods. He does everything well. He can play the run, he’s outstanding in coverage, he can blitz, and he’s a smart field general. He suffered a gruesome ankle injury Week 6, and will not play in this game. Warner had 51 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 pass breakups in 6 games this season.

DE Nick Bosa (IR, season over): Nick Bosa is a very good pass rusher, though in my opinion not on the level of guys like Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, and T.J. Watt, to name a few. He had 17 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in 3 games before suffering a season-ending torn ACL.

WR Brandon Aiyuk (left team): Aiyuk had 75 catches for 1342 yards (17.9 YPC) and 7 TDs in 2023, earning a Second-Team All pro nod. He then “held in” at Niners training camp in 2024, before eventually landing a four-year deal worth $120 million. He then tore his ACL and MCL during the 49ers’ Week 7 matchup against the Chiefs, ending his season.

Aiyuk began 2025 training camp on the PUP, and after a while simply stopped showing up to Niners’ facilities, prompting them to place him on the “reserve/left team” list, ending his season, and voiding guarantees in his contract. It’s unlikely that Aiyuk will ever play for the Niners again.

DE Mykel Williams: Williams was the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he started the first nine games of the season for the Niners before a season-ending torn ACL and lateral meniscus.

LB Tatum Bethune: Bethune was Warner’s replacement. He suffered a torn groin against the Seahawks Week 18, and his season is over. Bethune had 94 tackles, a sack, and 4 pass breakups as a fill-in. He played well against the run, but was shaky in coverage.

LB Nick Martin: Martin is mainly a special teamer, but he’s worth noting because of the Niners’ many other injuries at linebacker.

OG Ben Bartch: Bartch is a backup guard. He started two games for the Niners this season and weas in a weird rotation with Spencer Burford at LG earlier this season. His absence is noteworthy in case the Niners lose a guard during the game on Sunday, as he is their first guard off the bench.

  • Eagles-Commanders Week 18 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles enter their Week 18 matchup with the Washington Commanders very healthy at this point in the season, and many of their players will get even healthier as the Birds plan on resting starters in this matchup. The Commanders’ season is long since over, as they have already shut a few of their most important players down for the season.

  • Eagles-Bills Week 17 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles enter their Week 17 matchup with the Buffalo Bills relatively healthy at this point in the season. The Bills have a long list of players on IR, as well as on their injury report this week.

Here’s the Eagles-Bills injury report, with analysis.

    Wednesday notes:

    • Jalen Carter is back at practice for the first time since having a procedure on his shoulders.

    • Still no Lane Johnson, though he is expected to be ready to play in Buffalo.

    • Nakobe Dean didn’t practice, as expected. Vic Fangio told reporters that Dean avoided a more serious injury, but his status for Sunday is “iffy.”

    • A.J. Brown had his wisdom teeth out. He’s fine.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

The Eagles activated Hinton’s 21-day practice window, which expired. He won’t play this season.

OT Cameron Williams (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Williams struggled in training camp, and landed on IR. This is effectively a redshirt season for him. Williams did have his 21-day practice window activated last Thursday, but he remains unlikely to play this season.

    Wednesday notes

    • Apologies, but I’m spending time with my family on Christmas Eve, and will not be diving into the context of the Bills’ injury report this evening. #Analysis to come soon.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

DT Ed Oliver (IR, eligible to return at any time): Oliver is a very good player who had 9.5 sacks in 2023, 3 in 2024, and 3 in 3 games in 2025 before suffering a torn biceps injury. He could return at some point this season, but it won’t be in time for this matchup.

DE Michael Hoecht (IR, season over): The Bills signed Hoecht to decent money this offseason (3 years, $21 million), and he had 2 sacks in 2 games before tearing his Achillles. His season is over.

DE Landon Jackson (IR, season over): Jackson is a third-round rookie who appeared in 3 games before suffering a torn MCL and PCL. His season is over.

DT DeWayne Carter (IR, season over): Carter was a rotational defensive lineman for the Bills in 2024. He tore an Achilles in August, ending his season.

CB Darius Slay (DNR): After the Steelers waived Slay, the Bills claimed him on waivers, but he did not report to the team.

S Taylor Rapp (IR, season likely over): Rapp is a starting safety. He played in six games, before having surgery on a nagging knee that he had tried to play through. His season is probably over.

S Damar Hamlin (IR, season likely over): Hamlin was a starter for the Bills in 2024, but he had a smaller role on the 2025 team. He suffered a pectoral injury, and his season is likely over.

CB Dorian Strong (IR, season over): Strong is a sixth-round rookie who played in four games this season (1 start), before he suffered a career-threatening neck injury.

WR Curtis Samuel (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Samuel has a stat line of 7-81-1 in 6 games this season. He landed on IR with knee and elbow injuries. He is eligible to come off of IR this week.

WR Mecole Hardman (IR): Hardman is a three-time Super Bowl champ with the Chiefs who signed with the Bills this season. He has only played in one game, but he had a 61-yard kick return in that game. He landed on IR with a calf injury, but the Bills opened his 21-day practice window last week.

K Tyler Bass (IR): Bass is a good kicker who has been over 80% every year of his career. He had surgery to correct a hip injury that persisted throughout training camp. The Bills’ kicker this season had been Matt Prater, who is 18 of 20 on field goals, and 43 of 46 on PATs.

  • Eagles-Commanders Week 16 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles have a few new additions to their injury report, and they’ll have a short week to get ready for their Saturday Week 16 matchup with the Washington Commanders. The Commanders will be without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who the team has decided to shut down for the rest of the season.

Here’s the Eagles-Commanders injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Tues*  Wed  Thurs Status
    RT Lane Johnson Foot DNP
    iDL Jalen Carter  Shoulders  DNP

    EDE Jaelan Phillips  Knee  Full
    LB Zack Baun  Hand  Full
    OT Cameron Williams  Shoulder  Full

    Tuesday notes (Walkthrough, estimation only):

    • Lane Johnson is still not yet practicing, but he is expected to make his return to the field Saturday against the Commanders. We’ll see.

    • Jalen Carter still isn’t practicing yet either, though the Eagles defense has been stellar without him the last two weeks.

    • Landon Dickerson played through his calf injury Week 15, and did not look right.

    • Saquon Barkley’s stinger was unknown until now. The Eagles are just two days removed from their win over the Raiders, so we’ll get a better sense if his injury is serious if he continues to be a DNP on Wednesday. He seemed fine in the locker room after the Raiders game, for whatever that is worth. Same with Fred Johnson.

    • Jalen Hurts seemed to hurt his lower leg on an awkward tackle against the Raiders, but he does not appear on the injury report.

He will be eligible to come off of IR next week, though Marcus Epps has played well in his absence.

RB Chris Rodriguez Jr.  Groin  Full
    OT George Fant  Knee  Full
    DE Drake Jackson  Groin/Knee  Full

    Tuesday notes

    • Jayden Daniels has been shut down for the season, in case you missed that. Marcus Mariota will start at quarterback.

    • Starting LT Laremy Tunsil left the Commanders’ Week 15 win over the Giants, but returned to the field later in the game. He did not practice on Tuesday. With the Commanders holding Daniels out for the rest of the season, it’s not out of the question that they might also make sure Tunsil doesn’t make his injury worse by playing hurt. His status will be worth monitoring throughout the week.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

TE Zach Ertz: Ertz had 66 catches for 654 yards and 7 TDs in his first season with the Commanders in 2024. In 2025, he had 50 catches for 504 yards and 4 TDs before he tore his ACL against the Vikings Week 13. He remains second on the team in receiving yards. His season (maybe his career?) is over.

CB Marshon Lattimore: Lattimore looked cooked when he was healthy this season, committing 9 penalties in 9 games. He tore an ACL in November and his season is over. With Lattimore and Trey Amos (below) both on IR, the Commanders’ starters at CB will likely be Mike Sainristil, Noah Igbinoghene, and Antonio Hamilton. So, the Eagles should have some matchup advantages there.

CB Trey Amos: Amos is a second-round rookie who started 8 games this season. 32 tackles, 6 PBUs, 0 INTs. He was up and down this season. Too many missed tackles. He suffered a fractured fibula in November and his season is over.

DE Dorance Armstrong: Armstrong’s season was off to a strong start, as he had 5.5 sacks in 7 games before suffering an undisclosed season-ending knee injury.

DE Deatrich Wise: Wise was set to be part of the Commanders’ D-line rotation this season, but he suffered a season-ending quadriceps injury Week 2.

RB Austin Ekeler: In 2024, Ekeler had 733 yards from scrimmage as the Commanders’ third down back. He tore his Achilles Week 3, ending his season.

WR/RS Luke McCaffrey: McCaffrey had 11 catches for 203 yards and 3 TDs as a receiver, and he was the team’s primary kick returner before suffering a likely season-ending collarbone fracture Week 9 against the Seahawks.

DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste: Jean-Baptiste is a rotational defensive lineman who had a nice start to the season, with 6 tackles and a sack in the Commanders’ first three games. He suffered a torn pectoral muscle way back in Week 3. Usually that’s an injury that players can recover from in-season if they occur early enough, but the Commanders will likely just shut him down for the season.

  • Eagles-Raiders Week 15 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles lost their third straight game on Monday night to the Chargers, but at least they escaped L.A. without any new significant injuries. Their Week 15 opponent, the Las Vegas Raiders, are expected to be without starting quarterback Geno Smith.

Here’s the Eagles-Raiders injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Wed*  Thurs Fri  Status
RT Lane Johnson  Foot  DNP DNP DNP Out

OT Fred Johnson  Ankle  –  Limited   Full  –
OT Cameron Williams  Shoulder  –  Full   Full  Questionable

    Wednesday notes (Walkthrough, estimation only):

    • There is some optimism that Lane will play in this game, but his DNP is not a great start to the week.

    • Carter was considered “week-to-week” after the procedure on his shoulders. He could miss another game. We’ll see.

    • Dickerson left Monday night’s game with his calf injury, but returned to the field later.

    Thursday notes

    • Dickerson went from limited on Wednesday to a non-participant on Thursday, though it certainly makes sense to get him some rest.

    • Fred Johnson was added to the report today, which is not ideal with Lane Johnson already hurt. Johnson’s addition to the injury report perhaps explains why the Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for Cameron Williams on Thursday.

    Friday notes

    • Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter are both out, as expected.

    • Fred Johnson is good to go.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

OT Cameron Williams (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Williams struggled in training camp, and landed on IR. This is effectively a redshirt season for him. Williams did have his 21-day practice window activated in Thursday, but he remains unlikely to play this season.

    Wednesday notes

    • Several reports have emerged that Geno Smith will not play in this game. Smith injured his right shoulder in the third quarter of the Raiders’ loss to the Broncos on Sunday. He also suffered a cut on his right hand.

Former Eagle Kenny Pickett filled in and played well, completing 8 of 11 passes for 97 yards and a TD against a good Broncos defense.

Smith has had a horrendous season. He leads the NFL with 14 INTs, and his total EPA of -70.73 is ranked 70th in the NFL, only ahead of Titans rookie Cam Ward. The Eagles might very well rather face Smith.

    • Last week, Crosby was on the Raiders’ injury report with a knee injury. He was limited on Wednesday, and he did not practice on Thursday or Friday. He played all 74 snaps against the Broncos, and had 4 tackles and a sack. He has 9 sacks and 2 forced fumbles on the season, and is pretty clearly the Raiders’ best player. My bet is that he’ll play on Sunday, but we’ll keep an eye out for reporting on him throughout the week.

    • Miller is the starting LT. He is on IR, but he returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since Week 4. He was a first-round pick in 2018, and is Vegas’ best offensive lineman, by far. He suffered a high ankle sprain and a hairline fracture Week 4 against the Bears. Stone Forsythe filled in, and has started the last nine games for the Raiders.

    • Chinn is second on the team with 104 tackles. Like Crosby, he also played all 74 snaps against the Broncos.

    Thursday notes:

    • With the exception of Geno Smith, all of the Raiders players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday were limited on Thursday. That’s a positive development for them.

    • Kolton Miller was still limited. The guess here is that he won’t play, especially since the Raiders have nothing to play for.

    Friday notes

    • Smith is officially out. Pickett will start.

    • Miller is officially out as well.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LT Kolton Miller (IR, 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday): As noted above.

RG Jackson Powers-Johnson (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Powers-Johnson was the Raiders’ starting RG to begin the season. He was the Raiders’ second-round pick in 2024. He suffered an ankle injury against the Broncos Week 10, and his season is likely over. The Raiders’ current starter at RG is Caleb Rogers, a third-round rookie.

CB Kyu Blu-Kelly (will soon be on IR, season over): Blu-Kelly is a starting corner. He had 40 tackles and 3 INTs before suffering a ruptured patellar tendon against the Broncos Week 14. His season is over. The Raiders’ other regular starting corner is Eric Stokes. Third-round rookie Darien Porter filled in for Blu-Kelly after he went down.

  • Eagles-Bears Week 13 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles have had good injury luck for most of the season, but they now have some concerns in their secondary. Their Week 13 opponent, the Chicago Bears, could be razor thin at linebacker.

Here’s the Eagles-Bears injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  *Tues  Wed Thurs  Status
    RT Lane Johnson  Foot  DNP
    WR DeVonta Smith  Shoulder/Chest  DNP
    S Andrew Mukuba  Ankle  DNP
    EDGE Brandon Graham  Groin  DNP
    RS Xavier Gipson  Shoulder  DNP
    RB Saquon Barkley  Groin  Limited
    LG Landon Dickerson  Knee  Limited
    S Reed Blankenship  Thigh  Limited
CB Adoree’ Jackson  “Gameday concussion protocol evaluation”  Full
    iOL Willie Lampkin  Knee/Ankle  Full
    OT Myles Hinton  Back  Full

Tuesday notes (*Walkthrough, injuries an estimation from the team):

    • As you likely already know, Lane Johnson injured his Lisfranc, but does not need surgery, and was not placed on IR. He did not play against the Cowboys, and almost certainly won’t play against the Bears. Fred Johnson will fill in as the starter again.

    • DeVonta Smith’s appearance on the injury report wasn’t expected, as he did not exit the Dallas game. We’ll likely get more information on him on Wednesday, but he has been a DNP on the first practice of the week in the past and has played, so no need for high concern yet.

    • Andrew Mukuba has a broken ankle and is going to be out a while. He will likely go on IR at some point this week. He is somewhere around the 14th-best player on the Eagles’ defense, but his loss is particularly harmful because it’s going to force Vic Fangio to have to start Sydney Brown for the foreseeable future.

Fangio said that Reed Blankenship should be good to go for Friday, so the Eagles at least dodged a bullet there.

Still, the Eagles are likely going to have to add a safety to the gameday roster, because Marcus Epps is on IR for at least one more game. I would expect that the Eagles will elevate Andre’ Sam from the practice squad.

    • Adoree’ Jackson came out of the Dallas game with a head injury, and was evaluated for a concussion. He cleared the concussion protocol, but was kept out of the game as a precaution. The Eagles are required to list players who don’t finish games on their next injury report, but he is good to go for Friday.

    • Saquon Barkley appeared on the injury report prior to the Packers game Week 10 after injuring his groin in the Eagles’ Week 8 win over the Giants.

    • Graham’s injury is new. We’ll update when we learn more.

    • The Eagles should just IR Gipson, who has not been a positive contributor as a punt returner, to put it mildly.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

S Marcus Epps (IR, eligible to come off of IR after Week 13): Epps appeared in eight games for the Eagles before he landed on IR with an undisclosed injury. He absence is particularly noteworthy because of Mukuba’s injury

EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time, season could be over): Okoronko was signed to provide edge depth. He played in just one game (4 snaps), before tearing his triceps.

EDGE Azeez Ojulari (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR after Week 13): Ojulari was the presumed third EDGE defender in the pecking order when he signed with the Eagles as a free agent, but he is now no better than the EDGE7.

FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee, out for the season): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.

LS Charley Hughlett (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Hughlett throws the ball through his legs. The Eagles signed Cal Adomitis to throw the ball through his legs in place of Hughlett, and he has played well, even contributing as a tackler on the punt coverage unit.

iOL Willie Lampkin (IR, Eagles opened up 21-day practice window on 11/6): Lampkin is an extreme oddity, in that he is a 5’11 offensive lineman who only weighs 290 pounds. He looks like a player you’d create in Madden just for fun. However, coming out of North Carolina he received glowing reviews for his play on the field, ands he played well in the preseason after signing with the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent. The Rams waived Lampkin with an injury designation. The Eagles then claimed him and place him on their IR.

OT Myles Hinton (IR, Eagles opened up 21-day practice window on 11/19): Hinton is a sixth-round rookie who was up and down in training camp. The Eagles placed him on IR with a back injury, and he has not been on the active roster all season.

OT Cameron Williams (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Williams struggled in training camp, and landed on IR. This is effectively be a redshirt season for him.

Tuesday notes (*Walkthrough, injuries an estimation from the team)

    • The Bears are very banged up at linebacker. Tremaine Edmunds leads the team with 89 tackles. The next closest player on Chicago’s roster has just 59 tackles. Edmunds also has 4 INTs and 9 pass breakups. Pro Bowl-caliber season. He was placed on IR after suffering a groin injury against the Vikings Week 11. He won’t play against the Eagles.

Old friend T.J. Edwards is the Bears’ other starting linebacker. He has missed six games this season, including the last three against the Giants, Vikings, and Steelers. He did not participate in practice on Tuesday.

Noah Sewell is the Bears’ LB3. He did not play Week 12 against the Steelers, and did not participate in practice on Tuesday. The Bears’ linebacker snap counts Week 12 were as follows:

    72 snaps: D’Marco Jackson
    42 snaps: Amen Ogbongbemiga
    12 snaps: Ruben Hyppolite II

Hyppolite started alongside Jackson, but left with a shoulder injury, and did not practice on Tuesday.

Obviously, the Bears’ linebacker situation will be worth monitoring closely throughout the week. They are potentially razor thin there.

    • The Bears also have a lot of injuries at cornerback. Jaylon Johnson has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons, and he signed a four-year deal worth $76 million. He is currently on injured reserve, but the Bears opened his 21-day practice window last week. Obviously, he did not play Week 12 against the Steelers or he would not still be on IR.

Kyler Gordon is the Bears’ top slot corner. He is also on IR, but like Johnson above, the Bears opened his 21-day practice window last week. Gordon has only played in two games this season.

Both Johnson and Gordon were full practice participants on Tuesday.

In their absences, the Bears have gotten good play from 6’4 CB Nahshon Wright, who has a share of the NFL lead in INTs, with 5. The embattled Tyrique Stevenson (of Bears-Commanders Hail Mary infamy) has also mostly played well this season. The Bears will have some decisions to make at corner should Johnson and/or Gordon return to the lineup, but it’s a good problem to have.

    • Theo Benedet has been the Bears’ starting LT most of the season. Braxton Jones was the Week 1 starter, however, he was benched after Week 4 in favor of Benedet. Jones has since been relegated to special teams duties, and he landed on IR with a knee injury. Benedet started seven games before missing the Bears’ Week 12 matchup against the Steelers with a quad injury. Second-round rookie Ozzy Trapilo filled in as the starting LT in that game. Benedet was a full participant in practice on Tuesday, but he may have been Willy Pipp’d by Trapilo.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LB Tremaine Edmunds (IR, eligible to come off of IR after Week 15): As noted above.

CB Jaylon Johnson (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): As noted above.

CB Kyler Gordon (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time)>: As noted above.

DE Dayo Odeyingbo (IR, season over): Odeyingbo has started in 8 games for the Bears this season. He has 21 tackles and 1 sack. He tore his Achilles Week 9 against the Bengals, and his season is over. Second-year pro Austin Booker has since filled in as the starter opposing Montez Sweat.

OT Braxton Jones (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Jones has been the Bears’ starting LT since he was a rookie in 2022. However, he was benched after Week 4 in favor of 2024 UDFA Theo Benedet. Jones has since been relegated to special teams duties, and he landed on IR with a knee injury.

CB Terell Smith (IR, season over): Smith was a 2023 fifth-round pick, who played 377 snaps in 2023, and 207 in 2024 as a reserve outside corner. Smith tore his patellar tendon during a preseason game, and his season is over.

DT Shemar Turner (IR, season over): Turner is a second-round rookie who has played in five games this season as a rotational D-lineman. 6 tackles, 0 sacks. He tore an ACL Week 8 against the Ravens, and his season is over.

OT Kiran Amegadjie (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Amegadjie was a 2024 third-round pick. He played 126 snaps as a rookie, but has not yet played in 2025. Amegadjie landed on IR in September with an elbow injury.

  • Eagles-Cowboys Week 12 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a potentially highly consequential injury against the Detroit Lions Week 11, when they lost Lane Johnson likely for a least a month with a Lisfranc sprain. The Dallas Cowboys recently had some important players return to the field, and they are pretty healthy for a Week 12 game.

Here’s the Eagles-Cowboys injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs Fri  Status

EDGE Jaelan Phillips  Shoulder  Limited  Full  Full  –
OT Miles Hinton  Back  Full  Full  Full  Questionable
iOL Willie Lampkin  Knee/Ankle  Full  Full  Full  Questionable

    Wednesday notes:

    • Lane Johnson has had a tough 2025 season. He left the Week 3 Rams game with a neck injury, the Week 4 Buccaneers game with a shoulder injury, the Week 10 Packers game with an ankle injury, and most recently, the Week 11 Lions game with his Linfranc injury. Johnson will likely end up on injured reserve, but the Eagles have not yet made that roster move.

Whenever Johnson has had to come out of games this season, he has been replaced by Fred Johnson, who was the team’s swing tackle in 2024 but who left in free agency last offseason. He returned via trade just before the start of the 2025 season. Fred Johnson has played as reasonably well as anyone could have hoped for in Lane Johnson’s absence. However, it’s worth noting that Fred Johnson has not yet started any games, so opposing defensive coordinators almost certainly haven’t spent a lot of time picking apart his tape and trying to exploit any weaknesses they might find. The Cowboys will.

Another concern is if the Eagles will need to count on Matt Pryor at any point, should Fred Johnson or Jordan Mailata go down.

    • Jurgens has had a tough season, too. He missed the bulk of training camp while still recovering from back surgery. He wasn’t 100 percent healed when the season began, but he played through it, and hasn’t been the same player he was a year ago. Jurgens suffered a knee injury against the Lions, and did not return. He now appears on the injury report with a concussion. Jurgens has missed two games this season, and it feels like he’ll miss third against the Cowboys. We’ll see. There’s an argument to be made that replacement Brett Toth has played better at center when Jurgens has been out.

    • The Eagles opened up the 21-day practice window for Hinton’s return from IR. Lane Johnson’s injury probably has something to do with that.

    • This will be Lampkin’s third week of practice. He remains on IR, though.

    Thursday notes:

    • Jurgens practiced. He might be good to go for Sunday after all.

    Friday notes

    • Jurgens is listed as questionable, but as full practice participant he’s likely to play.

    Saturday notes:

    • Jurgens will play. The Eagles announced on Saturday that they have removed his “questionable” status.

    • Also, they announced that WR DeVonta Smith will travel separately from the team to the game, for personal reasons, but he will play.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

Wednesday notes (walkthrough, injuries an estimation)

    • Prescott is fine, just soreness, per head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

    • Smith is the Cowboys’ best offensive lineman. He played every snap against the Raiders Monday night. He’ll likely play.

    • Hooker and Wilson are starting safeties who both returned to the field against the Raiders Week 11 after missing time. Hooker had missed the previous five games; Wilson missed the previous two. Hooker played particularly well against the Raiders.

    • Fowler has 7 tackles, 2 sacks this season. Clowney has 8 tackles, 2 sacks. They’re both part of the edge rusher rotation.

    Thursday notes

    • Dak was a full participant. He’s good to go.

    • Hooker didn’t practice, but not for injury reasons.

    Friday notes:

    • Everyone on the Cowboys’ injury report is good to go for Sunday, except Clowney and Adeniji, who are both listed as questionable. Adeniji is a new addition to the report. He is a backup tackle.)

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

CB Trevon Diggs (IR, eligible to return after Week 12): Diggs was unexpectedly available for the Eagles-Cowboys matchup Week 1 after rehabbing a knee injury all offseason. He played in six games this season before landing on IR with a head injury suffered in his own home. He also has a knee injury, though it’s not the same knee he rehabbed during the offseason. Diggs was one of the NFL’s premier ballhawks, but he is not close to the player he once was. The Cowboys’ CB snaps looked like this Week 11 in Las Vegas:

    • Caelen Carson: 60 snaps
    • DaRon Bland: 57 snaps
    • Shavon Revel (NFL debut): 19 snaps

LB Jack Sanborn (IR, eligible to return after Week 13): Sanborn was a starting linebacker for the Cowboys, but he landed on IR with a groin injury. At the trade deadline, the Cowboys added Logan Wilson, who has taken over part of Sanborn’s role.

S Juanyeh Thomas (NFI, eligible to return after Week 14): Thomas is the Cowboys’ third safety. He has been suffering from migraines, so the Cowboys placed him on the non-football injury list. He’ll miss at least four games.

OG Rob Jones (IR): Jones suffered a fracture in his neck, and his season is over. He signed with the Cowboys this offseason on a one-year deal worth $3.75 million. He was poised to be an important backup, active on gamedays.

RB Miles Sanders (IR): Sanders’ season is over with knee/ankle injuries. His fumble Week 1 against the Eagles was probably the biggest play of the game. The Eagles would have probably preferred that Sanders be healthy for this matchup.

CB Josh Butler (IR): Butler is a depth corner who started three games for the Cowboys last season. He has not played in any games this season.

RB Phil Mafah (IR): Seventh-round rookie, got some positive training camp buzz, has missed the entire season so far with a shoulder injury.

DE Payton Turner (IR): Turner busted as a Saints first-round pick, but he was expected to play a supporting role on the Cowboys’ D-line this season. He’s been on IR all season so far with broken ribs.

OG Trevor Keegan (IR): Our old friend.

    • We should also mention DE Marshawn Kneeland, who had 12 tackles and a sack in a rotational role before he passed away.

  • Cam Jurgens clears concussion protocol, will play vs. Cowboys

Eagles center Cam Jurgens has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and will play against the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in North Texas.

Jurgens entered the weekend listed as questionable but the Eagles on Saturday announced they removed that status. That means that Jurgens is good to go.

The only Eagles player who was ruled out was Lane Johnson (foot), who is expected to be out 4-6 weeks with a Lisfranc sprain.

The Eagles on Saturday also announced that WR DeVonta Smith is traveling separately from the team for personal reasons but has no game status. That means he is gong to play.

Jurgens returned to action last week after missing two games with a knee injury. But then he had to leave in the second half after suffering that concussion. Jurgens this week was listed only with the concussion and not the knee. Veteran Brett Toth will be available if Jurgens is unable to get through this game.

Meanwhile, veteran Fred Johnson will start in place of the injured Lane Johnson.

  • Eagles-Lions Week 11 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles had their bye Week 9, so they were relatively fresh heading into their Week 10 game against the Packers. They escaped Green Bay without any significant injuries, as there were no absentees on Wednesday in advance of their matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Lions listed 16 players on their initial injury report.

Here’s the Eagles-Lions injury report, with analysis.

    • As you can see above, four of the Eagles’ five starting offensive linemen are banged up, and were listed as limited participants in the Eagles’ initial practice. Otherwise, they’re in great shape heading into Week 10.

    • There’s not a lot to say. The Eagles are super healthy. Jurgens is the only starter on the team who is not a full participant in practice.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LS Charley Hughlett (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Hughlett throws the ball through his legs. The Eagles signed Cal Adomitis to throw the ball through his legs in place of Hughlett.

The guess here is that they’re both probably fine. LaPorta is a little more of a mystery. We’ll get a better idea if their injuries are serious if they don’t practice on Thursday.

    • Joseph last played in a game Week 6 against the Chiefs. He continues to miss practices.

    • Reed is a starting corner who signed a three-year deal worth $48 million this offseason. He suffered a hamstring injury against the Browns Week 4, and was placed on IR. He has 16 tackles, 1 INT, and 4 PBUs in 4 games this season. The Lions starters with Reed out have been Terrion Arnold, Amik Robertson, and slot CB Arthur Maulet. The Lions opened up Reed’s 21-day practice window this week.

Arnold missed Wednesday’s practice with a concussion, so the Lions could be thin in their secondary.

    • Davenport began the season as a starter, but he landed on IR with a pectoral strain. Dan Campbell recently said that Davenport could return around the end of November. The Lions opened his 21-day practice window this week.

    Thursday notes:

    • Sewell and Hutchinson were back at practice. They’ll very likely play on Sunday night.

    • LaPorta’s second straight day of missing practice has to be a big concern for the Lions.

    • Joseph feels unlikely to play, and we already know that Reed is unlikely as well. If Arnold can’t play because of his concussion, the Lions could be without three starting DBs. Add in that Amik Robertson is a new addition to the injury report and the Lions could have major depth issues in their secondary, particularly at corner.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LG Christian Mahogany (IR, eligible to return after Week 13): Mahogany is the Lions’ starting LG. He was placed on IR last week with a knee injury. Former Eagle Kayode Awosika started Week 10 against the Commanders. The Lions also lost C Frank Ragnow to retirement this offseason.

CB D.J. Reed (IR, hamstring, 21-day practice window opened): As noted above.

EDGE Marcus Davenport (IR, pectoral, 21-day practice window opened): As noted above.

iDL Levi Onwuzurike (PUP, season over): Onwuzurike had surgery during the summer to repair an ACL injury, and his season is over. Onwuzurike doesn’t have impressive production (3.5 sacks in 2024), but he was a starter.

DL Josh Paschal (NFI, 21-day practice  window opened last week): Paschal had surgery to repair a back injury this offseason. He played in 14 games last season, starting 10. He had 21 tackles and 2 sacks. The Lions opened his 21-day practice window last week.

LB Malcolm Rodriguez (PUP, 21-day practice window opened 10/27): Rodriguez had 42 tackles and 2 sacks before tearing an ACL in late November last season. He has not yet played in any games this season. The Lions opened his 21-day practice window on October 27.

LB Zach Cunningham (IR, eligible to come off of IR after Week 12): The former Eagle has played in 4 games for the Lions this season as a reserve run-down linebacker. He had 7 tackles.

OT Giovanni Manu (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Manu is a backup OT who started at LT in place of an injured Taylor Decker against the Bengals Week 5. PFF had him down for 2 sacks allowed in that game.

CB Khalil Dorsey (IR, wrist/concussion, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Dorsey is a backup DB, mostly in the slot.

CB Ennis Rakestraw (IR, season over): Rakestraw was a 2024 second-round pick who has had an assortment of injuries, and not a lot of playing time. His season is over after having surgery on a shoulder injury suffered during training camp.

  • Eagles-Packers Week 10 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles had their bye Week 9, so they should be fresh heading into an important stretch of games against the Green Bay Packers Week 10, the Detroit Lions Week 11, and the Dallas Cowboys Week 12. The Packers initially listed 13 players on their injury report.

Here’s the Eagles-Packers injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Thurs  Fri Sat  Status
C Cam Jurgens Knee DNP DNP DNP Out
iDL Moro Ojomo  Concussion  Limited  Full  Full  –
CB Adoree’ Jackson  Concussion  Limited  DNP  Full  –
RB Saquon Barkley  Groin  Full  Full  Full  –
WR A.J. Brown  Hamstring  Full  Full  Full  –

CB Jakorian Bennett  Pectoral  Full  Full  Full  Questionable
G/C Willie Lampkin  Knee/Ankle  Full  Full  Full  Questionable

    Thursday notes:

    • Jurgens’ lack of practice is noteworthy coming out of the bye. His knee injury can’t be a long-term concern, seeing as the team did not place him on IR prior to their Week 8 game against the Giants. But we’ll monitor his progress (or lack thereof) as the week continues. Brett Toth played well at center against the Giants in relief of Jurgens.

    • Ojomo’s limited practice status with a concussion means that he probably wouldn’t have played if the Eagles had a game Week 9. But as a limited participant in practice on Thursday, he should be good to go for Monday. Jackson, too.

    • Brown said that he’s playing.

    • Barkley hobbled off the field with a groin injury after a long run Week 8, and he did not return. His status was in question heading into this week. Full participation is a good result.

    • The Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for Smith and he was a full participant, so his chances of playing on Monday feel pretty good.

    • Brandon Graham appeared on the practice report last week. He’s not on there anymore.

    Friday notes

    • Jurgens remains out. His available for Monday feels doubtful. We’ll see.

    • Ojomo was a full participant. Good news for him.

    • Jackson did not practice, but it was due to a personal matter.

    Saturday notes

    • Jurgens is out. Toth will almost certainly start at center.

    • Everyone else practiced in full on Saturday, though Smith, Bennett, and Lampkin are listed as questionable. Smith is the player who matters of the three, by far, and he is expected to play.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

EDGE Nolan Smith (IR, triceps, 21-day practice window opened): In 2024, Smith got out to a slow start, but the light seemed to come on for him after the Week 5 bye. In the 15 games he played from October on, Smith had 10.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles, and he did a lot of the dirty work in the defense like taking on pulling guards and burying them. He also led the NFL with four postseason sacks. He tore his triceps in the Super Bowl. Smith entered the 2025 as the team’s top edge defender. Through the first three games he had 10 tackles and 0 sacks, before “tweaking” his triceps injury.

Smith has missed five games, but the Eagles activated his 21-day practice window on Tuesday.

CB Jakorian Bennett (IR, pectoral, 21-day practice window opened): The Eagles traded for Bennett in early August at a time when existing corners Adoree’ Jackson and Kelee Ringo were struggling during training camp.

The CB2 spot in the Eagles’ defense has not yet stabilized, so it will be interesting to see if and when Bennett gets a chance to play. The Eagles opened Bennett’s 21-day practice window prior to their Week 8 matchup against the Giants.

EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR after Week 8, but will be out much longer than that): Okoronko was signed to provide edge depth. He played in just one game (4 snaps), before tearing his triceps.

The Eagles signed Cal Adomitis to throw the ball through his legs in place of Hughlett.

    Thursday notes

    • The Packers signed Hobbs to a four-year, $48 million deal this offseason. He’ll miss a couple of weeks, per Matt LaFleur. The Packers will likely start Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine at CB on Monday night, with Javon Bullard in the slot.

    • Van Ness was the 13th overall pick in 2023, and is part of the Packers’ D-line rotation. He has 1.5 sacks, but has missed the Packers’ last three games. He did not practice on Thursday.

    • The Packers’ passing game weapons are very banged up.

    1. Tucker Kraft’s season is over (as noted below).
    2. Jayden Reed is on IR (as noted below).
    3. Christian Watson is on a bit of a pitch count after returning to the field from a 2024 torn ACL.
    4. Golden left the Packers’ loss to the Panthers with a shoulder injury.
    5. Wicks did not play Week 9 against the Panthers.
    6. Williams got hurt against the Panthers Week 9, and also had a devastating fumble in the red zone.

    • Tom is the starting RT and probably the Packers’ best lineman. He has dealt with oblique, back, and hip injuries this season.

    • Banks is the starting LG. He suffered a stinger Week 9 against the Panthers, and Sean Rhyan filled in.

    • Parsons is a star player, obviously, and Cooper is becoming one. Their injuries are new, and worth watching as the week progresses.

    Friday notes

    • The Packers added WR Malik Heath to their injury report, as if they didn’t already have enough hurt receivers.

    • Golden went from a limited participant on Thursday to a non-participant on Friday.

    Saturday notes:

    • Hobbs and Van Ness are out.

    • The most notable player with a “questionable” designation is Tom, who has been banged up all season, as noted above.

    • Three receivers — Golden, Wicks, and Williams — are all questionable, while Reed remains on IR.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

TE Tucker Kraft (IR, torn ACL, season over): Kraft was having an All-Pro type of season, with 32 catches for 489 yards and 6 TDs through the Packers’ first 8 games, but he tore his ACL during their Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and his season is over. He is the Packers’ leader in receiving yards and receiving TDs.

WR Jayden Reed (IR, shoulder/foot, eligible to return from IR at any time): Reed is probably the Packers’ best receiver. In 2024, he led the team in receptions (55) and receiving yards (857), and had 6 TDs. He had a big game in Brazil against the Eagles, catching 4 passes for 138 yards and a TD, plus a 33-yard TD run. Reed had concurrent surgeries on a broken clavicle and a Jones fracture in his foot in September. He is eligible to come off of IR at any time, but is extremely unlikely to play Week 10 against the Eagles:

EDGE Brenton Cox (IR, groin, eligible to return at any time): Cox is a backup edge defender who had 4 sacks in 7 games for the Packers in 2024.

LB Nick Niemann (IR, pectoral, eligible to return after Week 12): Niemann is a sneaky important player for the Packers, as he is fifth in the NFL with 11 special teams tackles. He suffered a pectoral injury Week 8 against the Steelers.

  • Eagles-Giants Week 8 injury report, with analysis

During their Week 7 win in Minnesota over the Vikings, four Philadelphia Eagles players — C Cam Jurgens, CB Adoree’ Jackson, EDGE Azeez Ojulari, LB Jeremiah Trotter — all left with injuries and did not return. They also added a bunch of other players to their injury list this week.

The Giants have a growing injury list as well, with three defensive starters who did not practice on Wednesday.

Here’s the Eagles-Giants injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs Fri  Status
    WR A.J. Brown Hamstring DNP
    C Cam Jurgens  Knee  DNP
    CB Adoree’ Jackson  Concussion  DNP
    EDGE Azeez Ojulari  Hamstring  DNP
    LB Jeremiah Trotter  Ankle  DNP
    LG Landon Dickerson  Ankle/Back  Limited
    iDL Moro Ojomo  Shoulder  Limited
    TE Dallas Goedert  Calf  Limited
    TE Grant Calcaterra  Oblique  Limited
    CB Jakorian Bennett  Pectoral  Limited
EDGE Brandon Graham  Not injury related  Full

    Wednesday notes:

    • Brown didn’t practice, but he was out on the field today, chatting it up with Big Dom. He finished the game against the Vikings on Sunday, and made the game-clinching play, so my sense is that he’s getting something of a rest day. We’ll see.

    • Jurgens’ status for Sunday will be of major importance. If he can’t go, Brett Toth would likely get the start at center. 😬

    • Vic Fangio said that Ojulari isn’t likely to play on Sunday.

    • Dickerson’s ailments continue to pile up.

    • Goedert and Ojomo are important players, and new additions to the injury report. We’ll monitor them throughout the week, but as practice participants on Wednesday, they feel likely to play Sunday.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

EDGE Nolan Smith (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR at any time): In 2024, Smith got out to a slow start, but the light seemed to come on for him after the Week 5 bye. In the 15 games he played from October on, Smith had 10.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles, and he did a lot of the dirty work in the defense like taking on pulling guards and burying them. CB Jakorian Bennett (IR, pectoral, eligible to come off of IR at any time): The Eagles traded for Bennett in early August at a time when existing corners Adoree’ Jackson and Kelee Ringo were struggling during training camp.

The CB2 spot in the Eagles’ defense has not yet stabilized, so it will be interesting to see if and when Bennett gets a chance to play. On Wednesday, the Eagles opened Bennett’s 21-day window from return from IR.

WR Darius Cooper (IR, shoulder, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Cooper is an undrafted rookie free agent who was able to crack the 53-man roster after an impressive training camp and preseason. He had begun carving out a role as the “dirty work” receiver after Johnny Wilson was lost for the season. He went on IR After Week 3 and is eligible to come off of IR at any time.

EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (IR, triceps, eligible to come off of IR after Week 8, but will be out much longer than that): Okoronko was signed to provide edge depth. He played in just one game (4 snaps), before tearing his triceps.

FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee, out for the season): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.

    LB Swayze Bozeman  Ankle  Limited
    QB Jaxson Dart  Ankle  Full
    K Graham Gano  Groin  Full

    Wednesday notes:

    • Three Giants starters —  Burns, Adebo, and Holland — did not practice. Obviously, their progress throughout the week will be of high importance. They’re also three of the Giants’ highest-paid players.

    • Like the Eagles, the Giants have a couple of nicked-up offensive linemen in Eluemunor and Schmitz.

    • The Giants opened the 21-day practice window for Gano, who is a significant upgrade over his replacement, the recently released Jude McAtamney.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

WR Malik Nabers (IR, out for the season): Nabers is the Giants’ best offensive player. As a rookie in an awful offense in 2024, Nabers had 109 catches for 1204 yards and 7 TDs. He tore his ACL Week 4 against the Chargers. His season is over.

LB Micah McFadden (IR, foot, eligible to come off of IR at any time): McFadden was a starting linebacker. He had 107 tackles and 3 sacks last season. He is expected to miss a big chunk of the season with a foot injury. Second-year player Darius Muasau has filled in at linebacker in McFadden’s absence.

K Graham Gano (IR, groin, 21-day practice window opened): Gano seems to get hurt every year. The Giants signed K Jude McAtamney and Younghoe Koo while Gano was out, and decided to play McAtamney, who missed two consequential PATs in the Giants’ loss to the Broncos Week 7.

OL Joshua Ezeudu (IR, eligible to come off of IR at any time): Ezeudu has filled in at various position for the Giants, and it has usually gone badly. He’s on IR with an undisclosed injury suffered during training camp.

  • Eagles injury report: Saquon Barkley upgraded ahead of Giants game

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was upgraded to a limited participant on Tuesday as he works through some soreness in his knee.

Barkley was listed as a non-participant on the first injury report of the week on Monday before being upgraded on Tuesday, but is fully expected to play against the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night.

“Nothing I’m too worried about,” Barkley said on Tuesday. “Some general soreness and I’m excited to go play.”

The Eagles are not practicing this week because they play on short rest and are holding walkthroughs. So this injury report is an estimation:

Did not participate: LG Landon Dickerson (ankle), TE Grant Calcaterra (oblique)

Limited: RB Saquon Barkley (knee), LB Jihaad Campbell (biceps), DT Byron Young (triceps)

    Full: LB Nakobe Dean (knee)

Both Dickerson and Calcaterra have been listed as DNPs for the first two days of this week and it seems very possible both will miss the Eagles’ Week 6 game against the Giants.

Dickerson, 27, has started all five games in 2025 but has been dealing with several injuries. He injured his ankle on Sunday and played just 12 snaps against the Broncos before exiting that game. Dickerson was seen leaving the Eagles’ locker room with his left ankle wrapped after the loss.

If Dickerson can’t play, expect 29-year-old veteran Brett Toth to start in his place. Toth has played 60 offensive snaps this season and has been the backup left tackle. Toth has started just two games in his career and hasn’t started a game since 2023.

If Calcaterra can’t play, the Eagles’ tight ends for this game would be Dallas Goedert, Kylen Granson and Cameron Latu.

The Eagles activated Dean’s 21-day practice window last Wednesday. Dean was a full participant for the first time last Friday and has now been full for the first two days of this week. After rehabbing from a torn patellar tendon suffered in the wild-card round against the Packers in January, it’s possible Dean makes his return on Thursday.

Here’s the latest on the Giants’ injury situation with a couple of offensive starters listed as DNP again:

DNP: LB Swayze Bozeman (Ankle), OT Jermaine Eluemunor (Back), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (Hamstring), WR Darius Slayton (Hamstring)

Limited: S Dane Belton (Shoulder), S Jevón Holland (Calf), S Tyler Nubin (Groin) ,CB Dru Phillips (Hip), RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (Shoulder)

    Full: QB Jaxson Dart (Hamstring)

  • Eagles-Broncos Week 5 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles’ injury list / injured reserve list is beginning to pile up, while the Denver Broncos are very healthy after the first four games of the season.

Here’s the Eagles-Broncos injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs Fri  Status
TE Dallas Goedert Knee DNP Limited Full  –
RT Lane Johnson  Shoulder  Limited  Full  Full  –
iDL Jalen Carter  Shoulder  Limited  Full  Full  –
LB Nakobe Dean  Knee  Limited  Limited  Full  Out
CB Adoree’ Jackson  Groin  Limited  Full  Full  –
TE Grant Calcaterra  Illness  –  DNP  Full  –

    Wednesday notes:

    • Goedert took a hard hit on Sunday in Tampa against the Bucs, came out of the game for a bit, but then returned. Goedert’s absence hurts both the passing game and run game.

    • Lane Johnson participating at all is a positive after he injured his shoulder against the Bucs and did not return.

    • Nakobe Dean had his 21-day practice window opened in advance of his eventual return from the PUP list.

    • Adoree’ Jackson practiced, but Vic Fangio noted that Kelee Ringo has a chance of starting going forward.

    • Jalen Carter may be dealing with his shoulder injury for a while, but he’ll very likely play.

    Thursday notes

    • Johnson and Carter were both full participants. They should be good to go.

    • Jackson should be good to go as well, but did he already lose his starting job?

    • Goedert practiced, a good sign for his availability on Sunday.

    Friday notes:

    • Dean being out isn’t a surprise, as he has to work his way back into “football shape.”

    • Jihaad Campbell missed practice because of a personal matter.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

EDGE Nolan Smith (IR, triceps): In 2024, Smith got out to a slow start, but the light seemed to come on for him after the Week 5 bye.

Through three games he has 10 tackles and 0 sacks. He “tweaked” his triceps injury, and will miss at least four weeks on IR.

LB Nakobe Dean (PUP, knee): Dean is technically still on PUP, despite the team activating his 21-day practice window.

CB Jakorian Bennett (IR, pectoral): The Eagles traded for Bennett in early August at a time when existing corners Adoree’ Jackson and Kelee Ringo were struggling during training camp.

WR Johnny Wilson (IR, knee, ankle): Wilson is a massive receiver at 6’6, 228 who carved out a dirty work role as a physical blocker his rookie season in 2024, though sometimes he was a little too aggressive, as he committed four penalties (3 holding, 1 OPI). He wasn’t much of a threat as a receiver, catching only 5 passes for 38 yards and a TD. WR Darius Cooper (IR, shoulder): Cooper is an undrafted rookie free agent who was able to crack the 53-man roster after an impressive training camp and preseason. He had begun carving out a role as the “dirty work” receiver after Johnny Wilson was lost for the season.

FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.

G Quinn Meinerz  Illness  –  DNP  Full  –
TE Lucas Krull  Foot  –  –  DNP  Out

    Wednesday notes:

    • As noted above, the Broncos have had great injury luck so far. They are virtually devoid of concerning injuries to important players.

    Thursday notes:

    • Again, not much to say here. Meinerz didn’t practice with an illness, but that’s probably not going to affect his status for Sunday.

    Friday notes

    • Lucas Krull was added to the injury report on Friday. He won’t play. I’ll be honest — I’ve never heard of Lucas Krull.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LB Dre Greenlaw: You all remember Greenlaw from his scuffle with Big Dom. Since tearing his Achilles while running onto the field during the 2023-2024 Super Bowl, Greenlaw has only appeared in two games. He is currently missing time with a quad injury.

LB Drew Sanders: Sanders was a Broncos third-round pick in 2023. He played in all 17 games as a rookie, starting four. He tore his Achilles in April of 2024 and missed the first 13 games of the season, but played in the final four. He injured his foot in 2025 training camp and began the season on IR.

iDL Malcolm Roach: Rotational interior D-lineman, played for Sean Payton both in New Orleans and Denver.

  • Eagles-Rams Week 3 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles have no surprises on their injury report heading into their Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams suffered an injury at cornerback Week 2, and they could also be without their starting LG.

Here’s the Eagles-Rams injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs Fri  Status
    RB Will Shipley  Oblique  DNP
    TE Dallas Goedert  Knee  Limited
    QB Tanner McKee Thumb Limited
    iDL Jalen Carter  Shoulder  Limited

    Wednesday notes:

    • Goedert didn’t practice at all heading into the Eagles’ matchup against the Chiefs Week 2. His limited participation on Wednesday is an encouraging sign for his availability Week 3 against the Rams.

    • Shipley, McKee, and Carter have all been on the injury report with their various injuries, though Carter wasn’t on it Week 2. Carter played through some pain in the Eagles’ win over the Chiefs, but never had to exit the game because of his injury.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LB Nakobe Dean (PUP, knee): Dean tore his patellar tendon in the Eagles’ Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers last season. As our Evan Macy detailed back in January, patellar tendon tears are more serious than ACL or Achilles tears. Dean began training camp on the PUP list and remained there to begin the regular season. He will miss the first four games, at a minimum. Rookie Jihaad Campbell is starting opposite Zack Baun, and has played well to begin the season.

He played a little over 400 snaps, and actually started four games.

FB Ben VanSumeren (IR, knee): VanSumeren was poised to take on a bigger role in the Eagles’ offense in 2025 as a full-time fullback, but he tore his patellar tendon on the opening kickoff of the season. His season is over.

Player  Injury  Wed  Thurs  Fri  Status

    Wednesday notes:

    • We’ll update when the Rams’ injury report is made available, but starting LG Steve Avila is expected to be on it. He sprained his ankle Week 1 against the Texans. If he can’t play, Justin Dedich will likely start at LG, as he did Week 2, when he struggled against Jeffery Simmons.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

CB Ahkello Witherspoon: Witherspoon is a starting corner. He broke his clavicle Week 2 against the Titans and landed on IR. The Rams’ top three corners Week 1 were Witherspoon, Emmanuel Forbes (!), and Cobie Durant. Darious Williams did not play in the regular defense Week 1, but played Week 2 after Witherspoon went down. With Witherspoon out, the Rams’ may have the smallest set of corners in the NFL:

    • Emmanuel Forbes (6’0, 180)
    • Cobie Durant (5’11, 182)
    • Darious Williams (5’9, 192)

If A.J. Brown can’t get going against these guys, an already alarming situation will become more worrisome.

  • Eagles-Cowboys Week 1 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles are mostly healthy heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have several notable injuries on the defensive side of the ball, and of course, they traded their best player in Micah Parsons.

Here’s the Eagles-Cowboys injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020
Player  Injury  Mon  Tues Wed  Status
LG Landon Dickerson Back DNP  Full  Full
QB Tanner McKee  Right thumb  DNP  DNP  DNP  Out
S Andrew Mukuba  Hamstring  Limited  Full  Full  –
EDGE Josh Uche  Groin  Limited  Full  Full  –
iDL Jalen Carter  Shoulder  Full  Full  Full  –

    Monday notes:

    • Dickerson recently underwent surgery for a meniscus injury, but he’s listed with seemingly a new back injury. He wasn’t out on the field at all on Monday, even as a spectator. We only get to watch a small portion of practices in-season, but Brett Toth got first-team reps at Dickerson’s LG spot during individual drills.

    • McKee didn’t practice at all either. No surprise there.

    • Mukuba’s injury — and the time he missed during training camp — will likely cost him a starting spot Week 1, with those responsibilities likely going to Sydney Brown instead, but Mukuba could eventually supplant Brown.

    • Uche’s injury was previously unknown. He’s the third edge rusher, so that’s worth monitoring.

    • Carter was a full participant, so there’s no real concern that he won’t play.

    Tuesday notes

    • The only player who did not practice was McKee. Sam Howell will likely be the QB2 on Thursday night

    • Dickerson practiced, so his new back injury likely isn’t all that alarming. Also, though his knee almost certainly isn’t 100 percent in the aftermath of his meniscus surgery, it would not have prevented him from practicing this week.

    • Mukuba was a full participant, which is at least interesting. But Vic Fangio made a point of noting that he missed two weeks of camp and is further behind of where he would otherwise be.

    Wednesday notes

    • The Eagles didn’t practice on Wednesday. This is just an estimation if they had.

    • McKee is the only player out. everyone else is good to go.

Dean began training camp on the PUP list and will remain there to begin the regular season. He will miss the first four games, at a minimum. Rookie Jihaad Campbell will likely start opposite Zack Baun, and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. could have a role as well.

He played a little over 400 snaps, and actually started four games.

Player  Injury  Mon  Tues  Wed  Status
DT Perrion Winfrey Back  DNP  DNP DNP  Out
CB Trevon Diggs  Knee  Full  Full  Full  –
LT Tyler Guyton  Knee  Full  Full  Full  –
TE Brevyn Spann-Ford  Ankle  Full  Full  Full  –

    Monday notes:

    • Diggs was a full participant, but he is only recently returning from a serious knee injury. He told Cowboys reporters that he’ll play by Week 4.

That quote sounds like he’s not playing Week 1. We’ll see. The Cowboys are already razor thin at corner.

Dallas’ starting CBs are Diggs, Daron Bland, and Kaiir Elam. Diggs may or may not play. The Cowboys’ three primary backups — Caelen Carson, Josh Butler, Shavon Revel — are all on IR/PUP/NFI, as noted below. Their three reserves thereafter are two waiver claims (Trikweke Bridges, Reddy Stewart), & a career STs guy (CJ Goodwin).

If Diggs can’t play, a bottom-of-the-roster guy will have to start.

    • Guyton started as a rookie in 2024, and finished second in the NFL with 18 penalties. PFF had him down (very generously) for 6 sacks in 2024. He got benched multiple times during the season.

If there were a player that the Cowboys really needed to have a good training camp this summer, it was Guyton, but he broke a bone in his knee and missed the bulk of camp. Guyton has since returned to practice, and will probably play Week 1, but he hasn’t gotten an ideal amount of work this summer.

    Tuesday notes:

    • No changes on the Cowboys’ front.

    Wednesday notes

    • The Cowboys didn’t practice on Wednesday. This is just an estimation if they had.

    • In a bit of a surprise, Diggs will play.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

LB DeMarvion Overshown (PUP): In Week 14 last season, Overshown shredded his right knee, tearing his ACL, PCL, and MCL. The optimistic return timeline for him is November. Overshown was having a fantastic season when he went down, as he had 90 tackles, 5 sacks, an INT, a forced fumble, and 4 pass breakups in 13 games.

OG Rob Jones (IR): Jones suffered a fracture in his neck, and his season is over. He signed with the Cowboys this offseason on a one-year deal worth $3.75 million. He was poised to be an important backup, active on gamedays.

WR Jonathan Mingo (IR): For some insane reason, the Cowboys gave up a fourth-round pick for Mingo at the trade deadline last year. Mingo has 60 career receptions in three NFL seasons. He was in contention to be the Cowboys’ WR3 this season, but will miss at least the first four games with a knee injury.

CB Caelen Carson (IR): Carson is a second-year player who started five games for the Cowboys as a rookie last season.

CB Shavon Revel Jr. (NFI): Revel was the Cowboys’ third-round pick. He tore an ACL in September of last year, ending his season. Otherwise, he’d have been picked much higher. He will miss at least the first four games of the season.

CB Josh Butler (IR): Butler is a depth corner who started three games for the Cowboys last season.

RB Phil Mafah (IR): Seventh-round rookie, got some positive training camp buzz.

DE Payton Turner (IR): Turner busted as a Saints first-round pick, but he was expected to play a supporting role on the Cowboys’ D-line this season. He’ll miss the first four games with broken ribs.

Eagles-Buccaneers Week 4 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles listed six players on their initial injury report ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs initially listed 16 (!) players on their injury report.

Here’s the Eagles-Buccaneers injury report, with analysis.

    051020EaglesLogo2020

RG Mekhi Becton Finger  Limited   Full   Full –
CB Darius Slay Knee  Full   Full   Full  –
DT Milton Williams  Groin  –  Limited   Full –

    Wednesday notes
    :

    • The Eagles could be without Brown, Smith, and Johnson on Sunday. Obviously, we’ll monitor their progress throughout the week. On the bright side, the Eagles’ early bye Week 5 might be a blessing when it was previously thought to be a curse.

    • Becton said that he will play on Sunday. Slay also said on Twitter that he’s fine.

    • Dickerson’s injury was not known until Wednesday. He didn’t miss any snaps on Sunday in New Orleans, so his injury is not likely to be serious.

    Thursday notes

    • Players with concussions who don’t practice on Thursday rarely play. We’ll see. Obviously, Brown’s DNP is also a bad sign for his availability.

    Friday notes

    • Brown practiced for the first time since he injured his hamstring.

    • It seems Johnson will at least make the trip to Tampa. We may or may not find out on Saturday if he will be cleared by a neurologist to play.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

S Sydney Brown (PUP): Brown tore an ACL in the 2023 regular season finale against the New York Giants, and is still rehabbing that injury. During training camp practices, Brown could be found standing well behind the action during team drills, engaged and taking mental reps. He also did sprints on a side field, and looked fast. Brown is eligible to come off of the PUP list after Week 4.

The Eagles have four safeties on their active roster — Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Reed Blankenship, and Tristin McCollum. Avonte Maddox can play safety as well.

WR Britain Covey (IR): Covey has been the team’s primary punt returner since 2022. He was arguably the best punt returner in the NFL last season. As a receiver, Covey hasn’t gotten many opportunities in the regular offense, but he started to get a little bit of a role this season. In the first three games, he had 7 catches for 34 yards. He previously only had 4 catches in the first two years of his NFL career.

S James Bradberry (IR): The Eagles kept Bradberry on their active roster for no good reason at 53-man cutdowns, and then the next day he suffered a “lower body” injury that will keep him out 6-8 weeks.

WR Ainias Smith (IR): After a shaky camp that finished mildly promisingly, Smith conveniently suffered an ankle injury that will keep him out 4-6 weeks.

TE Albert Okwuegbunam (IR): The Eagles burned an IR-DFR designation on Okwuegbunam prior to 53-man cutdowns. He is out a projected 6-8 weeks with a core muscle injury.

    Wednesday notes:

    • Winfield, Vea, Goedeke, Kancey, and Johnson were all out last week against the Broncos.

    • Otherwise, holy crap. Almost all of the Bucs’ best players are on their injury report. Aside from the players noted in the bullet point above, the most notable players to monitor throughout the week who were limited on Wednesday are Wirfs, Evans, Godwin, and Barton.

    Thursday notes

    • With the addition of Gaines all of the Bucs D-line starters are on the injury report.

    • Winfield is still out. It’s feels unlikely he’ll play. Wirfs, Evans, Godwin, and Vea remain limited.

    Friday notes

    • Winfield is arguably the Bucs’ best defensive player. He is out, as is Kancey, the second-year starting DT.

    • With Kancey out, Vea’s availability on Sunday is huge. The inactive announcements will be very meaningful Sunday morning.

    • Vea aside, Goedeke is the most important player among the other Bucs listed as questionable.

Notable players on IR, PUP, suspension, etc.

RB Chase Edmonds: 49-176-0 as a runner for the Bucs in 2023, 14-81-0 as a receiver.

OG Sua Opeta: Opeta played in 38 games for the Eagles over four seasons, starting 10. He signed with the Bucs this offseason, but tore an ACL during training camp.
