October Prime Day this year is actually a great time to consider investing in a Dyson machine. A number of cordless vacuums and a few viral hair stylers are on sale, some of them hundreds of dollars ff. But none of those come as close to my heart as my trusty AM09. My love for the AM09 is well documented. At this point, I’ve had it for more than five years and I bought it when it was $280 on super-sale at QVC. Previously, I had a Dyson tower fan that worked well until it kicked the bucket after a few years of use. I took the plunge with the AM09 because I generally had a great experience with the tower fan, and at the time, I had been living in apartments that were consistently chilly during wintertime and downright stifling during the summer months.
Now, my house is not all that much different than my apartments of yesteryear — and my original AM09 is still kicking. It does a great job circulating air in the summer (it’s not an air conditioner, to be clear) and it cuts the chill in my particularly icy office during the winter. I love its handy fan, which attaches magnetically to the top of the fan so you don’t lose it and lets you control the fan speed and heater temperature with just a few presses of a button.
But the real kicker with the AM09 is how lightweight it is: at just under six pounds, it’s incredibly easy to pick up and tote upstairs, downstairs or in the other room, wherever you need it the most. It has literally gone from my home office upstairs down to the main floor of my house and down again into our basement all in the same day for different purposes. Am I a little miffed that, in my impatience, I bought a discounted Dyson heater/fan/air purifier over the summer because I desperately wanted another AM09 and it wasn’t on sale at the time? Dyson has big changes coming. The company just announced its biggest batch of new products yet during IFA Berlin, with new appliances coming to both its floor cleaner and air treatment lines. From the already-announced PencilVac to an AI-powered robot vacuum and reimagined V8 Cyclone stick vacuum, the Dyson family of household appliances is about to get a lot bigger. There’s also a brand-new air purifier to come, plus updates to Dyson’s existing fan and space heater models.
While all of these items were announced today, only the new air purifier—the HushJet Purifier Compact HJ10, which will retail for $350—will be available in 2025, by the end of this month. Everything else will arrive sometime in 2026, with pricing still a mystery until closer to each product’s release. Here are the details of everything Dyson’s got in store.
New Classics

A lot of new floor care is arriving in 2026 from Dyson. The PencilVac was announced back in May, and there are three more related gadgets coming, plus a revamp of an old favorite. Pricing is still to come, as are the exact dates of when each of these will be available.
To start with the old, the popular V8 cordless vacuum from 2016 is getting new life 10 years later as the Dyson V8 Cyclone. Dyson says the updated stick vacuum will have 30 percent more suction power with 150 air watts and twice the run time—an hour over the original V8’s 30 minutes. It’ll have a triggerless power button and a self-emptying docking station, which is a feature I love on cordless vacuums. It’s a nice update to a popular vacuum that brings it up to speed with the technology and features we like to see in current stick vacuums.
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is a new cordless stick vacuum with Dyson’s latest motor, a cleaner head that can sense the floor type, and a wet roller head. It promises 315 air watts of power and a 70-minute run time. The All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head will detect what type of floor it’s on and adjust the suction and brush bar speed for optimal performance, and it has LED illumination to help spot dust. You’ll also be able to attach the wet roller head, which is an updated version of the Submarine head—named the Submarine 2.0—that works with the Dyson V15 Detect. But I especially like the wipe-clean mechanism that helps get stubborn dust and long hairs out of the vacuum’s bin. There will also be a compatible self-emptying docking station that can be purchased separately (disappointing that it’s not included, and it sounds like the docking station might come after the vacuum’s initial release).

Several years ago, at the launch of its V15 Detect Submarine, Dyson finally dipped its toe in the wet-mop game. The clever, water-filled detachable head and super scrubbing bars gave customers one device with which to vacuum and wet-mop hard floors. It was a quick, premium fix, for those people who want to bring Dyson’s signature efficacy and ease of use to the horrible chore of mopping. And now with the new Dyson WashG1, the company has ditched vacuum suction altogether and designed an all-in-one wet mop that slurps up debris and scrubs your floors.
I’ve spent the past few weeks using the Dyson WashG1 and have been impressed by the cleaner’s ability to embarrass me with just how dirty my floors had become, while also gathering up a surprising amount of pet hair and general detritus.

Dense Fibers
The secret to the mopping suction of the Dyson WashG1 lies in the two highly absorbent microfiber rollers that rotate counter-clockwise to each other. A pump then distributes water from the 27-ounce tank evenly across 26 pulse-modulated (read: squirty) water outlets, soaking each roller. As the rollers spin, they scrub the floor beneath, while the 64,800 filaments-per-square-centimeter of microfiber soak up spills and cling onto any bits of dust, food, pet hair, and Cheerios.
Traditional wet-and-dry vacuums have been able to suck up all manner of stuff for years, but cleaning them is often disgusting, with hair and dirt matted around wet, grubby brush bars. Here, Dyson has done a superb job separating the solids from the dirty water, making cleaning impressively simple. Fill the water tank, press Go, push around your home, and dirty water is extracted from the rollers and pumped into the dirty water tank. A nylon-bristled inner brush removes dirt and debris from the microfiber rollers, depositing it in the removable debris tray.

It is a significant upgrade in almost every way from the Dyson Submarine.
The pull-out debris tray has a 500-micron mesh to further separate dirty water from the large debris. The result is dirty, but not gritty, water in the tank—which can be simply poured down the sink—and a tray full of dirt that can be tapped into the bin. It’s worth noting too that, once back charging on the supplied upright dock, it will automatically self-clean to be ready for the next job. Dyson recommends you manually clean the rollers after three washes, which involves running everything under the faucet.
Wait a Minute
The Dyson WashG1 cannot entirely replace the need for a traditional vacuum. Maybe if your home has only hard floors and is hermetically sealed, you might get away with it, but for most people, especially those with pets and kids, you’ll still need to vacuum or have a robot do it for you. Dyson claims it can replace your vacuum, but I’m not yet convinced. Combined with even the cheapest Dyson cordless vacuum, you’ll not get much change from $1,000.
It is great at cleaning hard surfaces though, and I was impressed by how little standing water was left after passing the rollers over the kitchen tiles. When I first tried the WashG1, the color of the water in the dirty tank was shameful. I naturally blame it on the two dogs that had stayed the previous week. I was most impressed by the cleaning performance on tiles. While it won’t bring grout back to life, the tiles were noticeably cleaner.
The wonders of Dyson’s hair tools are unmissable. Plastered across social media are creative Air Wrap tutorials or shared shock and awe at how the Air Strait gets your hair from wet to dry in seconds.
But as someone with tight, coily hair, I always thought that the tools wouldn’t work for my curls unless they were straightened, stretched or blow dried. Essentially, I was on the outside looking in, and I wasn’t alone. “Convinced Dyson hair dryers are just not for the curly babes,” one X user wrote. Another chimed in: “I’m saddened to announce that after 16 months of trying to convince myself otherwise, the Dyson Air Wrap does not work on curly hair.”
Haircrush, a Black haircare platform, pledged to change the narrative around Dyson tools by holding an event which re-introduced the products like the Dyson diffuser with curly and coily hair in mind, spotlighting how the features work for our hair type. I have to admit I was impressed. I left feeling like I could finally, confidently, use the Dyson tools.

Dyson stylists and technicians re-introduced us to the Supersonic Hair Dryer (£280, originally £330), using the Wide Tooth Comb (£30) attachment and the Wave+Curl Diffuser (£30) for two separate styles. The Wide Tooth comb uses triangular shaped tongs to carefully detangle and comb your hair, without poking your scalp or breaking as it combs your hair. A standout feature is the magnet that keeps the Dyson attachments firmly in place, making the wide tooth comb “more ergonomic and allows for more tension without restraint”. I’ve been through many so-called universal comb attachments, dangerously taped in place or holding on for dear life while I struggle to blowdry my hair at home, so this sold it for me.
But it was the Dyson diffuser that I immediately added to my basket on my walk home. Celebrity hairstylist Dionne Smith styled model Kemmy’s hair using the popular finger coiling method. Smith used the Dyson diffuser to elevate the style, adding more volume and definition to the finished look.
At £30, the diffuser attachment is like no other. Its dome shape allows heat to flow into the bowl, rather than directly to your scalp or onto the tongs, reducing how hot it feels when using the tool – IYKYK. This increases definition without the excessive heat (the Dyson only goes up to 140 degrees, 160 in “boost” mode).
If you’re intrigued about how a Dyson could work on your hair, or whether to take the plunge and get a Dyson diffuser, here are Smith’s top tips for using the attachment to get defined coils and bouncy curls.
Your Hair Needs to Be Wet
Smith says that the main mistake people make when defining their curls is trying to style on dry hair. “Your hair needs to be soaking wet,” she tells us. “Even when taking the style down, you’ll need to wet your hair before detangling.”
A gentle hand is key here, as your hair can be more fragile and more susceptible to breakage when wet. It’s best to avoid detangling your hair in the shower, so use a spray bottle to dampen your hair instead.
Soft Versus Hard Curls
Through your own experimentation, you may already know the difference between using a curling cream or a curling gel. Smith explains that using a curling cream results in softer curls, while a gel can give you harder curls which hold a little longer.
“Sometimes a gel can be a nightmare to take down once you’re done with the style, so I prefer to use a cream, like Aveda’s Be Curly Curling Cream,” she recommends.
Start on the Lowest Setting
Since you’ll be starting with wet hair, as explained above, it’s best to start on the lowest setting when reaching for the dryer. This goes for heat and airflow.
When it’s time to diffuse, start at the ends of your hair. “I rest the ends of the hair into the dome, which helps to spread the heat throughout the hair and softly dries it,” Smith shares.
Want More Volume?
While definition is the main goal, sometimes a little more volume can push your style to new heights. Smith says if your hair is long enough, toss your hair over and diffuse the ends by placing them into the bowl.
If your hair is shorter, diffuse as normal and then lift your roots slightly by picking them with a wide toothed comb or Afro pick. This will keep the definition in the ends of your hair too.

The first Dyson headphones, the Zone (4/10, WIRED Review), with their attachable air filter for cynical techno-futurists, were so ridiculous and stupid it was hard for me to take the company seriously. Let’s face it: Dyson’s vacuums and hair care products are very nice, but many of its other products have been feeble, design-forward gimmicks that quickly fade behind the media hype. Sure, you’d see a few “fanless” Dyson air movers or purifiers in luxe locales after they first came out, but they never reached the broad-market ubiquity of its shiny plastic-sucking machines.
All this to say: I had low expectations for the new, $499 Dyson OnTrac headphones. With everyone from established brands like Apple, Sony, and Bose to newer brands like Sonos at the peak of their noise-canceling headphone game, it was just hard to imagine Dyson could create a product that competes in anything other than extruded plastic styling. But after a few weeks with my review unit, I think they’re some of the better headphones in the market.
These are visually customizable over-ear headphones with great sound, excellent noise reduction, and 55 hours of battery life. I am surprised to admit I like nearly everything about them.
Sucking Up
A large stately box accompanies the new OnTrac cans, but the hard case you use to protect the headphones between uses leaves a lot to be desired. Much like the case that comes with AirPods Max (8/10, WIRED Recommends), the one that comes with the Dyson cans is a slip-in situation with holes in the bottom and top of the case that allow dust and other dirt in when you throw them in your bag. It does little to protect the headphones from bumps and bruises, which is annoying when you’ve dropped this much on a pair of headphones.

The headphones themselves look a bit like Dyson vacuums: They’re maximalist, plastic, and full of color options. My review units came in a flashy metallic copper with navy blue accents, with the option to swap for different color earpads and earcup caps. Given the price, I actually like that you can swap things like this with such ease, because it means you can change them as they wear out.
Unlike recent competitors like the Sonos Ace (8/10, WIRED Recommends), they’re large and bulky, not sleek and light, with a weight of 451 grams compared to the Ace’s 311 grams and AirPods Max’s 385 grams. That said, a comfortable and well-padded headbands and thick cloth earpads give them a great seal around my ears for good passive noise isolation, and they don’t feel heavy on my head.
Bells and Whistles
When you want to turn the headphones on, press a small physical button on the bottom of the right earcup until you hear the noise and see a small light flashing to indicate they’re in pairing mode. From there you’ll control the headphones with either a joystick (another nod to Apple’s AirPods Max) on the right earcup or by touching the left earcup with your hand to toggle between transparency mode or noise canceling. This mix of touch controls and physical controls is perhaps the only annoying thing I found with the OnTrac; I kept accidentally brushing the earcup and turning off ANC when I was doing yard work. I wish that was just another button on one side or the other, rather than controlled by touch.
For me, a dryer lives and dies by its diffuser, and I’ve never seen one like this, which is actually two diffusers. In “diffuse mode,” it looks like any diffuser you’ve ever seen, with prongs to get right into the root to dry and help with volume. Dyson says this one is best for more textured curls and coils.
Pop that prong part off to use “dome mode.” Instead of pushing air out, it creates a vortex of air within the dome so air spins around the curls to dry them. It’s meant to elongate and enhance waves and curls. For my hair, they were best used together, and I think many curl types would benefit from both. I dried the roots and coarser bottom layer with the regular diffuser, and then switched to the dome for the length, particularly focusing on the damaged curls on top that require a bit more care to bring out the shape.
You’ll notice a few slight visual changes from the first Supersonic. Lights change colors based on the heat setting, turning blue for cool, yellow for low heat, orange for medium, and red for high. It makes it a little more fun-looking, but it’s also a nice visual cue to quickly check which setting you’re on. My favorite new addition though, is the clear back where the settings are, which gives you an inside look at some of the internals. As a huge fan of ’90s clear tech, I want more of this all the time. Dyson, if you’re reading this, the people want fully transparent hair tools with candy-colored wires.
Putting most of the controls on the back of the barrel is a smart move (as it was with the original). Most dryers put the buttons right where your hands grip the handle, so you can accidentally change settings when you’re just trying to hold it to your head. Here, the power switch and cold shot button are on the handle, but out of the way.
Smart Features

The Supersonic Nural has a few unique smart functions that make the hair-drying process a little easier. Scalp protect mode uses a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and infrared beam to detect when the dryer gets close to your head, automatically turning the temperature down to 131 degrees Fahrenheit. Though it works with only some of the attachments, like the gentle air attachment, styling concentrator, and smoothing nozzle, it means you don’t have to fiddle with settings as you move from roots out.
There’s also only one roller head on the Submarine, but it already has a debris tray you can no-touch rinse and empty. It’s also easy to take apart the Submarine head to rinse it and let it air dry at my laundry room sink. After six months of use, the roller head still doesn’t smell. If you’re wondering why Dyson is releasing a new wet floor cleaner when the Submarine just came out, you’re not the only one. The WashG1 doesn’t clean with suction and doesn’t have a separate dustbin.
In a briefing, a reporter asked whether one can use the WashG1 to handle common household messes, like broken glass. Dyson representatives suggested first sweeping or vacuuming the shards separately—a two-step process that seems to defeat the purpose of an all-in-one floor cleaner. This holds especially true in a market crowded with competitors like the much more affordable Bissell CrossWave OmniForce ($380) I’m currently testing.
Dyson’s killer app, so to speak, has long been its ability to move air in new, beautiful, and sometimes frighteningly forceful ways, whether that’s in a high-end air purifier, in a vacuum, or a hair styler that spins the strands of your hair up and around a hot barrel for effortless curls. However, despite reporting consistent revenue increases, the company has had a few pretty notable flops in the past few years.
The Zone, Dyson’s venture into high-end audio, was kind of silly. There is still no sign of the new battery technology that prompted the construction of a new facility in Singapore. The company must still be searching for new robotics and software developers to hire because our reviewer found the new Vis Nav robot vacuum’s ability to make its way around table legs lackluster.
Still, with a few notable exceptions, we have all underestimated the allure and the efficacy of Dyson’s premium designs at one time or another, and home cleaning is one of Dyson’s core strengths. Am I a little skeptical? Yes. Am I still going to test it eagerly? Also, yes.

Additionally, an LCD panel atop the machine displays the amount of vacuumed debris, providing supplementary information that, while not directly aiding in cleaning, adds a nice touch.
This panel also indicates the remaining vacuuming time and the current mode selected. Despite the V15’s potential 60-minute runtime in Eco mode, other modes, notably Boost, operate for shorter durations. However, the V15 boasts automatic adjustment of vacuum power, adapting based on detected dirt levels, likely extending its lifespan.
Equally impressive is its performance across various surfaces, excelling on hardwood and carpets alike, showcasing its versatility for most homes. Admittedly, its premium status comes with a high price tag, and the dirt bin occasionally presents some challenges, a minor drawback for a high-end vacuum. Nevertheless, the V15’s suite of features far outweighs these minor inconveniences, making it a worthy investment for those seeking the pinnacle of Dyson’s offerings.

Pet hair can present a challenging task for most vacuums, but the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal, a reasonably priced cordless model, excels in managing pet hair, largely thanks to its hair screw tool. While it’s not entirely immune to blockages, it handles pet hair without any problem and any blockages caused won’t be because of pet hair.
The vacuum’s suction power is robust, though not as potent as some later Dyson models like the V11. However, its cost-effectiveness compensates for the slight power compromise, especially for pet-specific cleaning needs. Even if you have a more heavy-duty vacuum for tougher debris, investing in the V10 Animal for its pet hair prowess is worthwhile. Its three vacuum levels offer ample power, making cleaning easy and efficient.
Additionally, its lightweight design enables effortless ceiling cleaning and stair manoeuvrability. The whole-machine filtration system is another plus, capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns, ideal for allergy sufferers. Nonetheless, these aspects contribute to its advantage: easy storage due to its compact size and lighter weight, making it efficient and quick to use. Thus, it boils down to the compromises one is willing to accept.
Consider the runtime, around 20 minutes, albeit with only two suction modes, which might deplete faster compared to other vacuums in Eco mode. On a positive note, it can transform into a handheld vacuum, halving its weight, making it suitable for hardwood floors and handheld usage.
