‘Very serious retaliation’: U.S. strikes ISIS targets in Syria

The Trump administration launched more than 70 strikes against ISIS targets in Syria on Friday, responding to an ambush attack that killed two U.S. troops and an American civilian interpreter last week.

The Trump administration struck more than 70 ISIS targets in Syria on Friday, according to the Pentagon, in retaliation for a deadly attack on U.S. and Syrian forces last week.On Friday evening, President Donald Trump told a crowd in North Carolina, “Just 2 hours ago, we hit the ISIS thugs in Syria who were trying to regroup after their decimation by the Trump administration 5 years ago. We hit them hard.”Trump further described the operation as successful and precise. In a social media post ahead of his speech, he called it a “very serious retaliation.” That sentiment was echoed by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, also known as the secretary of war, in another post. “This is not the beginning of a war — it is a declaration of vengeance,” Hegseth said. The strikes were in response to an ambush attack that killed two U.S. troops and an American civilian interpreter last weekend. The president blamed the attack on a member of the Islamic State, although the group has not claimed responsibility. Trump said the U.S. retaliation was fully supported by Syria’s new leader, who has overseen warming relations with the West since the fall of the Assad regime last year. Following the U.S. strikes, Syria’s foreign ministry reiterated its commitment to fighting ISIS and underscored the need to strengthen international cooperation to combat terrorism. In a recent national security strategy document, the Trump administration argued that the days in which the Middle East dominated American foreign policy are over. The administration has sought to build ties with countries like Syria, including in the counterterrorism space, but contends that the threats can be contained “without decades of fruitless ‘nation-building’ wars.” The Trump administration is instead looking to focus closer to home, shifting military resources away from the Middle East and towards South America, as tensions mount with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Asked if the Trump administration would rule out regime change in Venezuela, State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in an interview Friday, “The president has spoken about his concerns when it comes to the illegitimate regime in Venezuela, his concerns about the gangs we have seen come from Venezuela, the concerns about the narcotrafficking that we’ve also seen.”

    [ad_1]

Redefining Defense Solutions with Innovation, Agility, and a Relentless Focus on Mission Readiness

Ricardo Defense today unveiled its new name and brand identity: Detroit Defense, marking a bold new chapter in the company’s evolution as a modern, agile leader in defense innovation, systems integration, and digital logistics.

The rebrand reflects more than geography. It represents a mindset – one rooted in Detroit’s industrial legacy, but firmly oriented toward the future fight. The name change follows the December 2024 acquisition of Ricardo Defense by Proteus Enterprises LLC and Gladstone Investment Corporation. That strategic shift has empowered Detroit Defense to expand its capabilities and accelerate delivery of advanced, integrated solutions that enhance readiness and support decision dominance across domains.

Pierre Chao, Co-Founder of Proteus Enterprises and Detroit Defense Board Chairman added, “Having worked across the Pentagon and industry for decades, I can say with confidence there’s no team better equipped to solve the urgent challenges our warfighters face. Detroit Defense brings together deep engineering roots, modern agility, and a relentless commitment to mission success. This brand marks the beginning of something bold – and overdue – in the defense sector.”

Detroit Defense will continue providing proven capabilities like the ABS/ESC retrofit kits that have increased survivability for thousands of U.S. Army HMMWVs. CORAS Rolls Out Early Release of Driver Trees Tool

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Apr 17, 2024

Responding to U.S. Navy’s Agenda for Performance-based Management, Decision-Making, and Readiness

CORAS Federal, a FedRAMP High Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, announced an early release of a Driver Trees feature that adds to its suite of enterprise decision management tools. Driver Trees are a performance-based management process that identifies root causes and the most impactful way of pushing efficient progress and resolution, incorporating the U.S. Navy’s (USN) Get Real Get Better and Performance to Plan (P2P).

CORAS Driver Trees are already at work within the USN supporting Program Managers in their “hunt for leverage”, using metrics and cause-and-effect relationships to predict future performance and determine the highest-capacity drivers of those metrics. CORAS Driver Trees empower users to identify baseline conditions, align workflows to key performance indicators (KPIs), predict future outcomes, and promote clear ownership and accountability within teams.

“U.S. Navy departments already trust CORAS to deliver complete insights, informed decisions, proactive collaboration, and a single source of truth across complex multi-system secure environments,” said CORAS President and CTO Dan Naselius. “The CORAS Driver Trees tool is a direct result of listening to our U.S. Navy customers’ needs and delivering them another weapon in our arsenal for DoD defense systems that articulates clear objectives, outcomes, drivers, and data-informed analyses. This tool will keep evolving as we continue to collaborate and refine CORAS Driver Trees’ functionality through customer feedback.”

USN Vice Admiral Morley recently presented a leadership masterclass on Program Management and Driver Trees with an agenda of understanding how to leverage tools like driver trees to align team accountability and deliver positive delta outcomes in USN acquisition environments. CORAS supports the warfighter by bringing disparate data sources together in secure, real-time environments for leadership to make fully informed decisions with live reporting, predictive AI/NLP, what-if scenarios, automations, and workflows.

  • XRP Turn Around: Price Bounces Back Signaling Upward Trend

XRP Turn Around: Price Bounces Back Signaling Upward Trend

    [ad_1]

XRP experienced a significant decline over the past week due to unprecedented market whirlwinds. However, the crypto asset has regained bullish momentum from this dip, signaling an upward trajectory.

    XRP Experiences Rebound After Plunge

XRP daily chart has shown resiliency recently, pulling off a noteworthy rebound following a drop that unnerved traders and investors. The chart shows that the cryptocurrency is speedily recovering from its fall.

The recent price movement indicates that XRP might be approaching the $0.70 mark. The token’s capacity to stay above the 50-day and 100-day moving averages indicates a bullish outlook for the asset.

According to the chart, XRP may be ready for a run at the next resistance level, around $0.65, if it can sustain above the $0.60 mark. If the token manages to go past $0.65, the $0.70 mark seems plausible.

These averages are significant pointers frequently pointing to the market’s long-term prospects. The fact that the price of XRP is rising above these lines indicates that the market is very confident.

In addition, the digital asset’s RSI has leveled off following a brief excursion into the overbought area. This suggests that the recent price rebound was sustained market interest rather than a fluke. The RSI returns to neutral levels without a notable price decline, sparking possible future growth.

XRP’s market is on an uptrend; the token seems to have benefited from these positive market emotions by raising its price. The price of XRP is growing and might keep rising, per a crypto analysis by ProSignalsfx on TradingView.

Nonetheless, the crypto asset is still relatively down from the $0.75 price mark it experienced on November 13. This was due to a false report shared by an X user about an exchange-traded fund (ETF) filing by BlackRock. However, the crypto experienced a price correction immediately after the report was debunked.

The Crypto Asset Is Set To Do Well In The Next Bull Run

According to crypto influencer BoringSleuth, since XRP has no ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), its price could gain impressively from the bull market. The influencer believes cryptocurrencies not connected with the CCP will benefit from the next bull run.

“The protocols that weren’t in bed with the CCP will be the benefactors of future bull cycles. A protocol like DAG, which works with the DOD is one example of a well-positioned protocol. XRP is another,” he stated.

The crypto asset trades at approximately $0.639, indicating a 1.17% decline in the past 24 hours. Its market capitalization is currently at $34,288,273,612, indicating the same percentage decline in the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.

BrainGu Secures $125 Million Contract to Revolutionize U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System

    [ad_1]

BrainGu, a technology company driving innovation through platforms that deliver resilience, scalability, reliability, and security, has been awarded a transformative five-year sole-source IDIQ with a contract ceiling of $125 million to provide cutting-edge Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) capabilities to support the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS).

The IDIQ is a Small Business Innovation Research Phase III award that includes the deployment of a cloud-based command and control environment, bolstering the ABMS capabilities for enhanced operational effectiveness. BrainGu will leverage its expertise in DevSecOps and cloud-native software through its DevSecOps platform StructsureTM, on-premises, in the cloud, and at the edge, across various security classification levels.

As part of this landmark contract, BrainGu will provide a comprehensive suite of products, and support services, including Structsure with Platform One Big Bang at its core, Mission Application Development, DevSecOps Advisory, and Special Projects, all productized and offered through firm fixed-price items. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center has initially awarded a task order worth $25 million in research, development, test, and evaluation funds for fiscal years 2022 and 2023, underscoring the strategic significance of this partnership for JADC2 initiatives.

“America faces a unique, global challenge as it works to stand up a vast and complex network to connect users in the field with mission-critical data from sensors on the other side of the world,” said BrainGu CEO John “Spence” Spencer-Taylor. “The Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contract signals a clear desire by DoD to establish an innovative platform where new information and leading-edge technologies can be rapidly integrated and utilized. BrainGu’s work in support of Platform One and WIDOW did just that by showcasing how our Structsure platform can transform performance, security, and usability challenges into opportunities. Shipping Captains Receive Space Security

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Dec 23, 2022

Piracy is still an issue in modern times, with criminal groups using advanced equipment and tactics to attack commercial vessels in waters around Africa and Asia. These attacks involving the robbery and ransom of ships cost between $13 and $16 billion annually. The actual number of attacks is unknown due to underreporting by shipping companies, which may be concerned about insurance premiums. While some measures, such as escorts and onboard security, have been taken to protect vessels in high-risk areas, using weapons for self-defense remains controversial due to international treaties.

“Sadly, captains on shipping vessels are typically left alone with little to no support during piracy events; our answer is the FALCON.”Wil Glaser, Space-Tech CEO

FALCON (Forward Area Long-range reCON) leverages 2023 technology for sensors, processors, and UAV control. FALCON provides advanced scanning and surveillance at an affordable price in an asset that can be launched, operated, and recovered without sophisticated equipment or trained specialists.

With advanced satellite quality optics, images from over 1 kilometer away are broadcast to the Augmented Reality HMD, allowing the user to control the mission with simple voice menu commands, eliminating the joystick controller. A single operator can hold a dozen units remotely, allowing a fleet of Falcon drones to cover an entire theater or fire threat region, creating a real-time map of fire spread or providing radar and visual surveillance over open waters.

Space-Tech SAGS Service (SPACE-TO-GROUND SECURITY) blends its satellite platform & FALCON with a combination of state-of-the-art assets, sensors, and AI Tools.

Space-Tech combined billion-dollar efforts from Nvidia for Edge AI Computing with sensors from advanced digital cameras and satellite quality optics to create real-time digital twins of the theater of interest.

A peek inside shows an impressive build of materials like a GPS, Radio, Acoustic, Radar, LIDAR, and vision sensors on board with an AI object or threat recognition tool to report if threats are detected, minimizing operator radio bandwidth and tasking. Communications and video links can be encrypted and broadcast over RF, WiFi6, and 5G communication channels.

Missions include perimeter security, surveillance, search and rescue, and 3D Terrain Mapping. Intelligence can be relayed to the base and coordinated with the ground or other assets.

Constructed out of lightweight advanced Carbon / Graphene Composites, the Autopilot allows selected missions to be programmed to enable forward deployment without needing a trained operator. A local technician would launch it into the air and swap batteries as needed, but the piloting is 90 percent AI and 10 percent remote expert.

CORAS’s unique capabilities aggregate disparate data and create a single source of truth in real time. CORAS toolsets support leadership at all levels across multiple departments to deliver real-time decision management capabilities, AI models and visualizations, core business processes, and analysis. With no rip-and-replace requirements, CORAS is up and running in days, configured to work alongside existing programs to read and codify unstructured data and provide real-time reporting for decision-makers.
