  • DIY Easy Festive Holiday Decor: Silver Oak Branches

    [ad_1]

    1. Measure the length of your longest leaf and cut your tape to double that (Sandy’s are approximately two inches long). Peel off the paper backing,
place cut tape sticky side up.

    2. Place wire in the center of the tape, half way up the length, leaving at least an inch of wire sitting outside of the tape.

    3. Fold the tape over at its half-way point, sandwiching in the wire.

    4. Place a leaf over the folded tape, align the midrib of the leaf
    with the wire.

    5. Trace around the leaf with a pencil.

    6. Cut out the leaf.

    7. Take a walk and find a fallen branch!

    8. Tie the leaf to the branch by winding the wire around it.

  • A DIY Wreath Made From Foraged Greenery and Berries

    [ad_1]

Making your own holiday wreath involves four good things: a brisk walk; a gathering of invasive plants like privet, multiflora roses, and bittersweet; a conversation—if you are brave—with a neighbor you have never met (in my case recently, this involved a trade of holly branches for me and a bottle of homemade elderberry cordial for them); and, finally, about two hours of focused attention on crafting and creativity. It is occupational therapy at its finest. Plus (five good things!) a really attractive wreath that will last for a month or more. Oh, and (six): Making your own wreath costs next to nothing.

Here are some of the plants you can use, and the minimal equipment you will need to make your own wreath at home.

Above: Our finished wreath on a wall.

    1. Gather your materials.

The most effective wreath features plants that stay fresh-looking for weeks. Combining evergreens with winter berries and fruits guarantees long-lasting decoration. The plants can be foraged, if they are invasive, trimmed from your own garden, begged from your friendly neighbors, and bought from local tree vendors. You can also use trimming from your Christmas tree.

For color in a winter wreath, nothing beats rosehips. I take this opportunity to gather as many sprays of very invasive Rosa multiflora hips as I can find. Privet fruit is at its peak in early winter, and can be collected with a clear conscience, too. Holly, juniper, cedar, pine, fir and spruce are all good options for greenery.

In addition, you will need secateurs for cutting branches, gloves for sharp thorns, and, at home, florists’ wire for easy attachment. (A 22-gauge floral wire is easy to use and very strong.)

Above left: Multiflora hips. Above right: Gloves are helpful when you work with holly, the prettiest and prickliest.

  • Renovating a House Checklist: Step-by-Step Guide to Planning, Budgeting, and Building Your Dream Home

    [ad_1]

Home renovations provide homeowners with the opportunity to take their house and turn it into a home they’ve always dreamed of. The idea of renovating can be intimidating. Where do you start? Who do you call? But before you get overwhelmed, we’ve created a checklist to help answer all your questions and guide you through the home renovation process. Whether you recently purchased a fixer-upper home in Denver or have been living in the same house in New York for years, you can make your dream home a reality with the help of this renovation checklist.

    1. Make a plan for your home renovation

Before you embark on your home renovation journey, make sure you outline your ideas and plans. Maybe you want to add a home office or redo the kitchen. The possibilities are endless. Make sure you know what you want the end result to look like and keep in mind that the project likely won’t be completed all at once.

Before you grab a hammer or start browsing paint colors, ask yourself:

    • Why am I renovating? (To add value, fix issues, or improve comfort?)
    • Which areas need the most attention?
    • What’s my ideal timeline?

PRO TIP: “Dare to dream! Work with someone with the expertise, insight, and creativity to make those dreams a reality.” – Essential Habitat

    2. Set your renovation budget

To determine your budget, decide which projects are the highest priority and what you can live without. Need help figuring out which renovations you want? Consider popular home trends in your area and projects that can add value to your home. Make sure to budget for any problems that could arise during the initial structure check or during demolition. Once you’ve established your budget, you can begin creating a reasonable time frame to help you stick to a schedule.

    3. Inspect your home’s structure and systems

Before taking on a major renovation project, make sure the home’s structure is solid. This includes checking the foundation, electrical systems, plumbing, flooring, and roofing. Older houses are more likely to develop these problems, but it’s important to cover all your bases regardless of your house’s age. It’s essential to consult a structural engineer to help resolve any issues that may exist.

    4. Hire the right professionals for your renovation

Take this time to look over your plans and decide which professionals to hire when renovating your house. From structural engineers and plumbers to architects and contractors, there are countless professionals who can help you achieve your home renovation goals.

PRO TIP: “The key to the design is being faithful to your own inclinations because your taste will never go out of style.” – CCO Habitats

    Foundation

For signs of foundation issues, look for doors and windows that don’t close properly or cracks and gaps along the edges of the wall and floor. If you suspect any issues with the foundation, a structural engineer can help diagnose the problem and create a plan to address any repairs.

    Plumbing and electrical

You should also have your plumbing and electrical systems checked before beginning any renovations. Both plumbing and electrical systems should be up to date so they’re equipped to handle modern-day appliances and piping. If your house is several decades old, it’s a good idea to swap out your pipes and wires, making your home more reliable for years to come.

    Roofing

No matter where you live, a strong and protective roof is essential. Knowing whether you need it repaired or replaced is something you should pay attention to. If the roof is on the newer side, watch for loose shingles and repair as needed. Roof damage that may result in a complete replacement includes wall and ceiling stains from leaks and trapped moisture, attic leaks from damaged shingles, exterior paint peeling from trapped moisture, and cracked shingles.

    5. Obtain the proper permits

After planning your renovation, you’ll need to make sure you have the appropriate home improvement permits, depending on the type of projects you have in mind. You might need to get permits if your remodel involves:

    • Major structural changes
    • Electrical and plumbing
    • Room additions or garage conversions

Failing to get the proper permits can be problematic if you try to sell your home in the future or apply for insurance.

    6. Begin interior demolition and construction

Now, it’s time to start designing your interior. If you plan on demolition, you have two options: DIY or call the pros. Your budget will play a major role in choosing which option is best for you.

Remodeling the inside of your home can mean totally reinventing your living space. Take down walls to open your space up or build new ones to transform your home’s floor plan. If you upgraded your electrical systems or plumbing, your walls will already be open, making it a good time to insulate and close them with drywall. Starting interior demolition room-by-room will help keep the renovation organized.

During this stage, contractors can handle framing, wiring, plumbing, and HVAC installation. Each step may require inspections before moving to drywall and finishes.

If you’re living in the home during the remodel, be sure to create dust barriers and seal off construction zones to minimize disruption.

    7. Add desired design elements to your home

Once all the prep work and demolition are complete, the remodel can truly begin. Here are four interior changes to consider adding to your home renovation checklist:

    Built-ins

Believe it or not, built-ins can provide value to a home. Built-ins are custom-made, permanent storage that adds character to your home. They come in many different forms, from shelving, dining nooks, closets, and much more. Not only are built-ins a great way to save space, but they can also help create a unique and long-lasting feature in your home.

    Windows

Upgrading windows can not only enhance your curb appeal but can also increase your home’s efficiency. That way, you can enjoy the seasons through crystal-clear windows, while also investing in your home’s value.

    Cabinets

Although mostly a cosmetic touch, upgrading your cabinets can enhance the design of any space – kitchen, bathroom, or hallway. If new cabinets are not in your budget, a fresh coat of paint can go a long way toward bringing a fresh look to a newly remodeled home.

    Flooring

Flooring plays a huge role in both the comfort and aesthetic of your home. The decision to opt for hardwood, carpet, or other options will depend on your lifestyle and preferences. If your home renovation checklist includes redoing the floors, carefully consider the pros and cons of each floor type and choose the one that’s best for you.

PRO TIP: For many of us, our houses don’t reflect the way we live. Formal living rooms? Who needs one when we’re working from home, the kids need homework areas, and mom has a side hustle making candles? Repurpose those rarely used spaces for rooms that you need. –Icon Building Group

    8. Add the finishing touches and home furnishings

Home furnishings will tie in everything you’ve accomplished during this renovation process and bring your home to life. New wall paint, plant additions, pillows, and rugs can make all the difference. Once you incorporate these new pieces, implementing basic feng shui home design into your space helps ensure your home brings you positive energy.

PRO TIP: “Look for inspiration and ideas from examples that compel or inspire you, then consider what aspects speak to you. Is it the volume of the room, or the materials, or the lighting, or the views?  Do these aspects translate to your space?” – Campfire Collaborative Architecture & Design

    Renovating a house FAQs

Does renovating a house add value?

It depends on the project. While some home renovations are purely superficial, certain home upgrades can add value to your home.

How much does renovating a house cost?

Renovation costs can vary widely based on scope and labor. A typical small renovation will probably cost less than $20,000, while more intensive projects can cost upwards of $100,000.

How long does it take to renovate a house?

How long a remodel takes depends on the scale of the project. If you’re only making minor or cosmetic changes, the whole project might take a few days or weeks. More significant remodels can take several months or even more than a year to complete.

Introduction: Honest SuperToughTape Reviews and Complaints in 2025

When searching for SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025, the results show a mix of praise and criticism. This type of search is common because shoppers want real answers before ordering. They look for customer experiences, refund details, and whether the product performs as advertised. The goal of this introduction is to frame the discussion with transparency, so you know both the positives and the negatives before deciding.

SuperToughTape is marketed as a reusable double-sided nano-gel adhesive. It claims to hold items without nails, screws, or anchors. The pitch is simple: strong hold, reusable design, and no messy residue left behind. These promises have attracted homeowners, renters, and DIY hobbyists. But with rising demand comes scrutiny, and complaints often appear online about the strength of certain surfaces, delivery timelines, or customer service. Looking at both sides helps build trust and gives you the full picture.

Search trends confirm why reviews and complaints dominate. Many products look impressive in ads but fail in daily use. That’s why potential buyers check forums, TikTok videos, and product review sites for confirmation. In the case of SuperToughTape, customer stories range from positive, such as hanging decorations in harsh weather, to negative, such as difficulty removing tape cleanly or delays in refund processing. These real-world voices shape the product’s reputation.

Cultural context also matters in 2025. Consumers are more skeptical of online products, especially those with strong marketing claims. Transparency is key, which is why this review will explore the biggest complaints alongside verified positive reviews. We will cover pricing, refund policies, and expert commentary. By presenting both sides, this introduction builds the foundation for a balanced decision.

For buyers who value time and convenience, SuperToughTape offers appeal because it removes the need for drills, anchors, and tools. You will also know how to avoid common complaints by ordering correctly and setting realistic expectations.

If you want an easy summary, SuperToughTape has earned both strong praise and notable complaints. This review will break down those themes section by section, so you can judge if it is the right solution for your needs.

What Is SuperToughTape and How Does It Work?

SuperToughTape is a double-sided adhesive mounting tape designed to replace screws, nails, and anchors. It uses nano-gel technology to create a reusable, heavy-duty bond that sticks to smooth surfaces indoors and outdoors. The company markets it as a tool-free solution for home projects, decoration, repairs, and organization. The idea is simple: peel, stick, press, and your object stays in place without damage or residue.

What sets SuperToughTape apart is the use of acrylic nano-gel. This material creates a clear, squishy texture that grips tightly while remaining flexible. According to the official description, one strip of SuperToughTape supports up to 16 times its weight. This claim is what attracts buyers who want to hang shelves, hooks, and gadgets without drilling holes. At the same time, some complaints online suggest the strength depends on how well the surface is cleaned before use. Dust, grease, or rough textures reduce effectiveness, which is why the instructions emphasize proper preparation.

The product is designed for versatility. Customers use it in living rooms to secure rugs, in bathrooms to mount soap holders, in garages to organize tools, and even in cars to attach phone mounts. It blends into the décor because the tape is clear and discreet. Positive reviews highlight how it performs in both hot and cold climates, withstanding temperatures between 30°F and 120°F. Complaints often focus on outdoor use in extreme moisture, where performance can vary, showing the importance of setting expectations for where it works best.

SuperToughTape is also reusable. After removing it from one project, many users report they can wash and dry it before applying it again. This feature appeals to renters and students who move often, since they can use the same roll multiple times. Still, some complaints mention reduced stickiness after repeated uses. This shows that while reusable, the tape’s lifespan depends on care and how often it is reapplied.

One of the biggest selling points is its no-residue removal. Traditional mounting methods often leave holes or sticky globs. SuperToughTape is marketed to peel off cleanly, leaving surfaces intact. Verified reviews support this when used on smooth walls, glass, and tile. Complaints arise more with painted drywall, where removing strong adhesive may lift paint. The company notes that correct removal and cleaning are required to avoid this outcome.

In short, SuperToughTape works by combining strength, flexibility, and ease of use. It is designed for individuals seeking rapid results without the need for hardware. It satisfies demand for quick DIY solutions, but like any adhesive, results vary based on surface type and preparation. That balance explains why reviews and complaints both dominate searches: for some, it becomes a go-to tool, while for others, it falls short of expectations.

    Explore How SuperToughTape Works

    Features Breakdown of SuperToughTape

When shoppers search for SuperToughTape reviews and complaints, they often want to know what features set it apart from standard adhesive strips or mounting hardware. This product is marketed as a reusable, heavy-duty, double-sided tape built for everyday convenience. Instead of listing chemical ingredients, the focus here is on performance features that matter to real users. Below is a breakdown of the main qualities buyers highlight in both positive reviews and complaints.

    Super Strong Hold

SuperToughTape is designed to hold up to 16 times its weight. Verified buyers confirm that it handles shelves, hooks, decorations, and even outdoor fixtures when applied to smooth surfaces. Complaints often mention weaker performance on rough or dusty surfaces. This shows that the strong hold works as advertised under the right conditions, but requires careful surface preparation.

    Reusable and Washable

One of the biggest features is reusability. Unlike traditional tape, SuperToughTape can be peeled off, rinsed under water, dried, and reused for another project. Positive reviews highlight cost savings, as one roll can be used multiple times. Some complaints, however, claim reduced stickiness after repeated reuses. Longevity depends on how well the tape is cleaned and stored between applications.

    Clear and Discreet

The tape is transparent, allowing it to blend with any décor. Customers appreciate that it keeps attention on the mounted item rather than the adhesive. Reviews highlight this as a major advantage compared to bulky hooks or brackets. Still, some complaints appear when residue is left on painted walls, which can happen if the tape has been applied for a long time or removed incorrectly.

    All-Weather Durability

SuperToughTape is advertised to work in a temperature range of 30°F to 120°F. Customers report success using it both indoors and outdoors, in kitchens, garages, and patios. Complaints arise when used in extreme moisture or rain, where adhesion can be less reliable. This shows that while versatile, it works best in dry, controlled environments.

    No Tools, No Mess

A major selling point is convenience. Buyers don’t need screws, nails, or drills, which makes the tape popular with renters and students. Verified reviews highlight how easy it is to mount items in seconds. Some complaints focus on difficulty removing items without lifting paint, which is why the company recommends testing a small patch before applying it to painted walls.

    Versatile Applications

From rugs and spice racks to phone holders and planters, SuperToughTape is marketed as a universal mounting solution. Positive reviews often describe creative uses, like hanging holiday lights or securing outdoor curtains. Complaints typically stem from mismatched expectations, such as trying to use it on porous surfaces like concrete or unfinished wood.

    Safety and Storage

The tape is odorless and easy to handle, making it safe to use indoors. The manufacturer advises storing it in a cool, dry place. Some complaints about reduced performance link back to improper storage, which can weaken the nano-gel adhesive.

In summary, the standout features of SuperToughTape are strength, reusability, and ease of use. Reviews confirm its usefulness for a wide range of projects, while complaints highlight its limits on certain surfaces and over long-term use. Understanding these features helps buyers set realistic expectations and avoid frustration.

    Pros and Cons of SuperToughTape

Every product has strengths and weaknesses, and SuperToughTape is no exception. Reviews and complaints in 2025 reveal a clear pattern of pros that attract loyal buyers and cons that frustrate others. Breaking these down helps you decide if this mounting tape is the right choice for your needs.

    Pros of SuperToughTape

    Strong Hold Without Tools

One of the biggest pros mentioned in reviews is the tape’s strength. Buyers report using it to mount heavy shelves, hooks, and decorations without nails, screws, or drills. Verified customer stories describe how it held outdoor curtains against the wind or kept rugs from sliding indoors. For people who want quick projects without tools, this feature stands out.

    Reusable Design Saves Money

Another benefit is reusability. Unlike traditional mounting strips that work once and get thrown away, SuperToughTape can be removed, rinsed with water, dried, and reused. Reviews highlight cost savings, especially for renters and students who move often. Some even note that a single roll lasts through multiple projects, making it a practical household staple.

    Clear and Discreet Appearance

Because it is transparent, SuperToughTape blends with décor. Customers appreciate that it doesn’t distract from mounted items. Reviews often mention how it looks cleaner than brackets, hooks, or bulky adhesive pads. This subtle design adds value for people who want a tidy finish.

Works in Hot and Cold Conditions

Positive feedback emphasizes its performance across temperature ranges. From 30°F to 120°F, it continues to stick, which makes it useful both indoors and outdoors. DIY enthusiasts report using it in garages, kitchens, and patios with success. This durability adds to its appeal.

    No Messy Residue

Compared to glue or nails, SuperToughTape usually comes off clean. Reviews describe how it removes from glass, tile, and sealed wood without residue. This product is popular among renters who want to protect walls and avoid losing deposits.

    Cons of SuperToughTape

    Performance Depends on Surface

A common complaint is that the tape struggles on rough or porous surfaces like brick, stucco, or dusty drywall. Reviews point out that while it excels on glass or tile, it loses grip on uneven textures. This can disappoint buyers who expect universal performance.

    Reduced Stickiness After Reuse

While marketed as reusable, some customers report that stickiness fades after several applications. Complaints suggest that improper cleaning or frequent reuses reduce strength. This shows that reusability works but has limits.

    Paint Damage Risk

Although advertised as residue-free, reviews and complaints mention cases where removing the tape lifted paint, especially on lower-quality painted walls. This is a concern for renters and homeowners who want to avoid repairs.

    Outdoor Limitations

Some complaints note weaker performance in extreme outdoor moisture or direct rainfall. While it resists heat and cold, wet environments sometimes reduce adhesion. Buyers who expect flawless outdoor use may feel let down.

    Refund and Shipping Complaints

Alongside performance issues, reviews mention slow shipping and difficulty reaching customer service for refunds. While not universal, these complaints affect the product’s overall reputation.

    Balanced Takeaway

The pros of SuperToughTape center on strength, reusability, and ease of use, while the cons highlight limits with certain surfaces and durability over time. Reviews confirm it solves problems for many households, but complaints remind buyers to follow instructions and set realistic expectations.

Check Whether SuperToughTape Fits Your Needs

    The Biggest Complaints About SuperToughTape

When researching SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025, it becomes clear that certain issues appear more often than others. While thousands of customers praise the tape for convenience and strength, verified complaints highlight areas where expectations did not always match results. Understanding these complaints helps you make an informed decision and avoid common frustrations.

    Shipping Delays and Delivery Times

One of the most common complaints centers on shipping speed. Some buyers report waiting longer than expected for their orders, especially during holiday promotions or bulk sales. Standard delivery is listed at 10 days, with priority shipping at 5 days, but complaints suggest delays sometimes stretch beyond this window. Customers who needed the tape for time-sensitive projects found this especially frustrating.

    Refund and Customer Service Issues

Although the company advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, several complaints mention difficulty reaching support or delays in refund processing. Some buyers report slow responses to emails or long wait times on phone lines. These issues can overshadow the product’s performance and contribute to negative reviews. Transparency about refund steps and patience with processing times are key to avoiding disappointment.

    Surface Compatibility Problems

Another frequent complaint is performance on rough or porous surfaces. While SuperToughTape works well on glass, tile, and polished wood, customers who tried it on brick, stucco, or dusty drywall often felt let down. Complaints describe items slipping or falling within days when the tape was used outside its intended range. This reinforces the importance of following instructions and applying it only to smooth, clean surfaces.

    Paint and Wall Damage

Despite marketing claims of residue-free removal, complaints include cases where paint peeled off during removal. This was most common on painted drywall or older painted surfaces. Customers expecting a flawless peel often felt misled. Reviews suggest that testing a small area first helps prevent damage, but this complaint still appears frequently in user feedback.

    Durability and Reusability Limits

Some buyers complain that while the tape is reusable, its stickiness weakens after multiple applications. Washing and drying extend its lifespan, but performance is not always the same after repeated use. This has led to complaints from customers who expected unlimited reusability.

    Outdoor Performance Variability

A subset of complaints focus on outdoor use. While the tape is rated to withstand hot and cold climates, customers in very wet or humid regions sometimes report adhesion problems. Items mounted outdoors during heavy rain or damp conditions occasionally failed to hold. This has led to disappointment for those who expected flawless outdoor results.

    Balanced Perspective on Complaints

It is important to note that these complaints represent only part of the picture. Many buyers still share positive reviews, praising the tape for saving time, avoiding wall damage, and handling heavy items. Complaints often arise when instructions are overlooked or expectations exceed what adhesive tape can reasonably deliver. By being aware of the limitations-surface type, storage, and proper removal, you can reduce the risk of disappointment.

Positive Reviews: Why Customers Like SuperToughTape

While complaints about SuperToughTape attract attention, positive reviews show why this product continues to sell and why thousands of buyers recommend it. Verified customers highlight convenience, strength, and versatility as the main reasons they keep rolls of this tape on hand. Looking at the praise side of SuperToughTape reviews in 2025 helps balance the conversation and explains why it has become a household favorite.

    Convenience Without Tools

Many reviews describe the freedom of mounting items without screws, nails, or drills. Customers say it saves time and avoids the frustration of handling hardware. A renter from Texas explained that SuperToughTape made it possible to decorate without losing her deposit, while another customer in California praised how quickly he was able to set up holiday decorations in his backyard. These stories show how the tape fits into daily life as a fast, practical tool.

    Strong Hold That Surprises Users

Another theme in positive reviews is strength. Buyers share examples of using the tape to hold heavy frames, tool racks, and even outdoor curtains. One verified buyer reported that it withstood 30 mph winds when securing plastic sheeting to brick, and another mentioned using it in the garage for metal hooks without any failures. These experiences highlight that when used on the right surfaces, the tape performs as promised.

    Reusable and Cost-Effective

Positive reviews also emphasize reusability. Instead of throwing away adhesive strips after one project, customers wash and reuse SuperToughTape for multiple jobs. A verified buyer explained that one roll lasted through three different moves, helping her mount kitchen racks, living room shelves, and bathroom hooks. This flexibility adds to its value, and reviews highlight cost savings compared to buying new mounting tools for every project.

    Blends Into Any Décor

Buyers also appreciate the clear and discreet look. Reviews point out that the tape is invisible behind mounted items, giving a cleaner appearance compared to bulky brackets or visible fasteners. Parents with kids and pet owners praise how it secures rugs and furniture without altering the look of the room. This aesthetic advantage comes up often in positive feedback.

    Trusted Across Platforms

SuperToughTape has gained attention on TikTok, Reddit, and product review blogs. Positive posts often go viral, showing users mounting items in seconds. This kind of word-of-mouth marketing explains why new buyers are curious. Reviews on official sites, social media, and YouTube channels consistently emphasize quick use and strong performance.

    Reliability Indoors and Outdoors

Another reason for positive reviews is durability in different climates. Customers in hot southern states and colder northern regions share success using the tape both indoors and outdoors. While complaints exist about extreme wet conditions, most reviews agree that it holds up well in typical weather, making it versatile for many applications.

    Balanced Takeaway From Positive Reviews

SuperToughTape reviews show that customers value convenience, strength, and reusability the most. Positive experiences highlight how it saves time, avoids wall damage, and delivers results across different projects. While complaints still exist, the steady stream of positive reviews explains why the tape remains popular and continues to attract repeat buyers.

    See Why Customers Recommend SuperToughTape

Is SuperToughTape Legit or a Scam?

One of the top searches in 2025 is whether SuperToughTape is legit or a scam. The rise of heavily advertised products online makes consumers cautious, and reviews and complaints both influence perception. To answer this, it helps to examine legitimacy signals, customer protections, and common red flags.

    Legitimacy Signals

SuperToughTape is sold through the official Super Brand Tools website, which uses SSL encryption and accepts major payment methods like Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Apple Pay. These details indicate that transactions are secure. The company also provides clear contact information, including an email, phone number, and business hours. These support options build trust and show that the business operates with transparency.

Another legitimacy factor is the 30-day money-back guarantee. The refund policy allows customers to return products if they are unsatisfied. Positive reviews confirm that some buyers have successfully used this guarantee, which helps reduce risk. In addition, the company highlights that it has served tens of thousands of customers worldwide. While marketing numbers should always be verified, the presence of verified testimonials and consistent sales activity suggests real product distribution.

    Common Red Flags to Consider

At the same time, reviews and complaints highlight areas where skepticism is justified. Some customers report delays in shipping, difficulty getting refunds processed, or limited communication with support staff. These issues don’t necessarily prove a scam, but they can harm the buying experience. Complaints about exaggerated advertising claims, such as the tape working perfectly on every surface or lasting indefinitely, also appear online. These are signs of aggressive marketing that require careful reading.

Another red flag involves counterfeit products. Customers who purchased from unofficial third-party sites sometimes received lower-quality tape or did not receive their orders at all. This highlights the importance of buying only through the official website, where guarantees and customer service are available.

Why Some Call It a Scam

Some buyers label SuperToughTape a scam when it fails to meet their expectations, especially if used on rough walls, painted surfaces, or in extreme outdoor conditions. For those customers, the promises made in ads feel overstated. Others view slow shipping or refund delays as part of the problem. These complaints feed into scam-related searches, even though the product itself is real and sold by a verifiable company.

    Balanced Verdict on Legitimacy

Based on available information, SuperToughTape is not a scam. It is a real product, sold through a legitimate company, with thousands of verified buyers and an official refund policy. Complaints about performance, customer service, and expectations are valid, but they don’t make the product fraudulent. Instead, they highlight the importance of setting realistic expectations and following instructions for best results.

If you are considering a purchase, the safest option is to order directly from the official website and review the refund terms carefully. That way, you are protected against shipping issues and counterfeits.

    Learn the Facts About SuperToughTape

    Expert Insights and Industry Research

SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025 don’t exist in isolation. They fit into a larger trend where consumers are seeking tool-free, reusable solutions for home improvement and organization. To evaluate whether this tape delivers on its promises, it helps to look at broader industry research and expert commentary on adhesive technology, consumer habits, and market growth.

    Adhesive Technology Trends

Experts in materials science point out that nano-gel adhesives represent a growing segment of the market. This technology is designed to distribute weight more evenly and create a stronger bond without permanent residue. Industry studies confirm rising demand for advanced adhesives that can replace traditional hardware. Reviews of products like SuperToughTape align with this trend, as customers increasingly look for convenience and portability in their DIY solutions.

    Consumer Sentiment in 2025

Market research shows that buyers today value speed, simplicity, and flexibility. Reports indicate that more than half of consumers prefer reusable household products to reduce waste and save money. This explains why positive reviews often highlight SuperToughTape’s reusability and versatility. At the same time, complaints about weak adhesion on rough surfaces match common industry warnings that no adhesive works universally. Experts stress the importance of surface preparation and realistic expectations, which align with what both satisfied and dissatisfied customers report.

    Affordability and Access

Analysts note that affordability drives much of the demand for reusable adhesives. A roll of SuperToughTape, especially when discounted in multi-pack bundles, is cheaper than buying hardware and tools for each project. This cost advantage is a key reason why the product appeals to students, renters, and budget-conscious households. Positive reviews reinforce this value, while complaints often focus on refund delays or shipping fees rather than price itself.

    Expert Cautions

Adhesive experts also caution that while products like SuperToughTape perform well on smooth surfaces, they are not designed to handle porous or heavily textured materials. This is why many complaints mirror expert advice: rough walls, brick, or unfinished surfaces reduce effectiveness. Engineers stress that adhesives should be viewed as complementary solutions rather than universal replacements for hardware. This insight explains why some buyers call it a scam while others swear by its convenience.

    Cultural Adoption of DIY Products

Sociology research highlights the cultural shift toward DIY convenience in 2025. Younger buyers in particular are more likely to try quick-fix solutions advertised on TikTok and Instagram. SuperToughTape fits directly into this movement. Positive reviews often come from users who value creativity and speed, while complaints appear when ads set unrealistic expectations. Experts suggest that clearer education on best practices could reduce complaints and increase customer satisfaction.

    Balanced Insight

Taken together, expert insights and industry research confirm that SuperToughTape is part of a legitimate and growing adhesive market. Reviews reflect the strengths of nano-gel technology, while complaints highlight the limitations that experts already acknowledge. The key is matching the product to the right use case. Used correctly, it aligns with consumer demands for convenience and reusability. Misused, it leads to the complaints that dominate some forums and review sites.

Comparing SuperToughTape vs Alternatives in 2025

When looking at SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025, many buyers also compare it to alternatives. The market is filled with mounting solutions ranging from 3M Command Strips to heavy-duty double-sided construction tape. To decide whether SuperToughTape is the right choice, it helps to compare its features, refund terms, and cultural presence against these competitors.

    SuperToughTape vs Command Strips

Command Strips are one of the most well-known mounting products. They are praised for easy removal but are typically single-use. SuperToughTape, by contrast, is reusable. Reviews highlight this as a major cost-saving advantage. Complaints about Command Strips often center on limited weight capacity, while complaints about SuperToughTape involve surface compatibility. Both products perform best on smooth surfaces, but SuperToughTape supports heavier loads when applied correctly.

    SuperToughTape vs Generic Double-Sided Tape

Generic double-sided tapes are cheaper but lack the durability and nano-gel design of SuperToughTape. They often leave sticky residue and fail under heavier weights. Positive reviews give SuperToughTape an edge for strength and cleanliness. Complaints arise when buyers expect the tape to work perfectly on textured surfaces, but overall, it outperforms most budget alternatives.

    SuperToughTape vs Industrial Mounting Adhesives

Industrial-strength adhesives, such as construction tape, are designed for permanent use. They often hold more weight but leave damage when removed. SuperToughTape appeals to renters and casual DIY users because it offers strength without permanent marks. Reviews emphasize this advantage, while complaints about reduced stickiness after multiple uses highlight its trade-off compared to permanent solutions.

    Refund and Guarantee Comparisons

Refund terms also matter. SuperToughTape comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, which is not always available with cheaper generic tapes. Command Strips and brand-name alternatives usually offer satisfaction guarantees as well. Complaints about SuperToughTape refunds involve processing delays, while complaints about competitors often involve lack of refund options altogether. This makes SuperToughTape competitive in terms of consumer protection.

    Cultural Presence and Visibility

SuperToughTape stands out because of its cultural presence on TikTok, YouTube, and blogs. Reviews and demonstrations circulate widely online, creating buzz and awareness. Command Strips remain a household name, but SuperToughTape’s viral marketing gives it a strong reputation among younger buyers and renters. Complaints about exaggerated ads are common, but this visibility also drives popularity.

    Balanced Comparison

SuperToughTape is not the only adhesive mounting solution on the market, but it carves out a niche with its reusability, heavy-duty grip, and refund policy. Reviews indicate that it outperforms cheaper generic options, whereas complaints suggest it is less universal than permanent adhesives. Compared to Command Strips, it holds heavier items but comes with more variability on rough surfaces. For most buyers, the decision comes down to whether they want reusability and heavy strength or prefer a lighter, single-use option.

Pricing, Refund Policy, and Where to Buy

When researching SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025, pricing and refund details are among the most important factors. Many customers want to know if the deals advertised are genuine, how the refund guarantee works, and where to safely buy without risk of counterfeit products. This section covers the facts so you can make an informed decision.

    Official Pricing Packages

According to the official Super Brand Tools website, SuperToughTape is often promoted with steep discounts. As of September 2025, single rolls are advertised at $11.95 each, down from a retail price of $29.99.

Bulk bundles provide even lower per-roll costs:

    • 3 rolls + 1 free: $14.95 each

    • 6 rolls + 2 free: $13.29 each

    • 9 rolls + 3 free: $11.63 each

    • 12 rolls + 4 free: $9.97 each (best value)

These bundle deals appeal to families, renters, and DIY enthusiasts who need multiple rolls for different projects. Reviews often praise the value of the multi-pack offers, while some complaints question whether discounts are limited-time or part of ongoing marketing tactics.

    Pricing Disclaimer

Always check the official website for the most current pricing and details, as they are subject to change at any time. Third-party listings may show different prices or outdated promotions.

    Refund Policy and Money-Back Guarantee

SuperToughTape comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If customers are unsatisfied, they can return the product for a full refund. Positive reviews mention successful refunds, especially when buyers followed the correct steps. Complaints focus on delays in refund processing or slow response times from customer service. These issues highlight the importance of keeping order details and contacting support within the 30-day window.

    Steps for Requesting a Refund

    1. Contact customer support via email or phone.

    2. Provide proof of purchase and reason for return.

    3. Follow the return instructions provided by the company.

    4. Allow processing time for the refund to be issued.

Most refund complaints trace back to missed deadlines or incomplete information, which slows down the process. Following the steps carefully helps avoid these problems.

    Where to Buy Safely

The safest place to buy SuperToughTape is through the official Super Brand Tools website. This ensures that the order qualifies for the 30-day guarantee and that you receive authentic tape. Complaints about counterfeit products come from customers who bought through unauthorized resellers or marketplace listings. Buying direct eliminates this risk.

    Avoiding Counterfeit Risks

Some review complaints describe receiving lower-quality tape or no product at all when ordering from third-party sites. This is why experts recommend avoiding platforms like eBay or unverified discount sellers. The official site provides secure checkout, order tracking, and professional customer support.

    Balanced View

Pricing and refund terms for SuperToughTape are competitive, especially compared to brand-name alternatives. Reviews show appreciation for bulk savings, while complaints mainly focus on refund speed or delivery times. Ordering directly from the official site is the best way to secure the advertised discounts and protections.

    Safety, Risks, and Responsible Use

SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025 often mention performance, but another important part of the discussion is safety. Adhesive products may not carry the same health risks as supplements or chemicals, but they still come with usage guidelines, storage recommendations, and practical limits. This section outlines how to use SuperToughTape responsibly and avoid the most common problems reported in complaints.

    Safe for Indoor Use

SuperToughTape is made with acrylic nano-gel adhesive, which is odorless and easy to handle. Customers report no strong chemical smell, making it safe for use around children and pets. Reviews highlight its convenience in kitchens, bedrooms, and offices. Complaints rarely mention safety hazards, but some users do warn about improper removal damaging painted walls. Testing a small area before full application is a safe practice.

    Surface Risks and Responsible Preparation

Many complaints about SuperToughTape involve failed adhesion or wall damage. Experts point out that these problems are avoidable with proper preparation. The surface must be smooth, clean, and dry. Dust, grease, or moisture reduce effectiveness. Reviews confirm that performance is strongest on glass, tile, and sealed wood. Complaints about slipping items almost always involve rough or porous surfaces like brick, stucco, or unsealed drywall. Responsible use means matching the tape to the right surface type.

    Avoiding Paint Damage

While marketed as residue-free, reviews include complaints about paint peeling during removal. This is more likely on older or low-quality paint. The safest approach is to test a small strip first or avoid applying the tape directly to painted drywall. For renters, this precaution reduces the risk of damage fees when moving out.

    Storage and Reuse Precautions

SuperToughTape is reusable, but proper storage affects performance. The company recommends keeping unused rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Complaints about weakened adhesion often trace back to improper storage or repeated use without cleaning. To maintain stickiness, users should rinse the tape under water, allow it to dry completely, and then reapply. Responsible care extends the lifespan and reduces frustration.

    Outdoor Risks and Weather Conditions

Reviews confirm that SuperToughTape performs well in normal hot and cold weather, with a rated range of 30°F to 120°F. Complaints appear when it is used in extreme humidity, heavy rain, or direct outdoor exposure for long periods. Responsible outdoor use means applying the tape in dry conditions and avoiding areas where it will be soaked by water. For projects requiring permanent outdoor adhesion, more specialized adhesives may be better.

    Setting Realistic Expectations

One of the biggest risks with SuperToughTape is not physical harm but disappointment. Some buyers expect it to work like industrial adhesives on every surface. Reviews make clear that while it is strong, versatile, and reusable, it has limits. Responsible use means recognizing those limits and using it for projects where a heavy-duty, tool-free adhesive is appropriate.

    Balanced Safety Takeaway

SuperToughTape is safe for most household projects and convenient for renters, parents, and DIY enthusiasts. Complaints typically reflect misuse, poor preparation, or unrealistic expectations rather than safety hazards. By following instructions, storing rolls properly, and using the tape on recommended surfaces, buyers can maximize safety and performance.

    Use SuperToughTape the Right Way

    User Testimonials and Case Studies

SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025 come from a wide range of buyers, each with different needs. By looking at testimonials and case studies, you can see how the product performs across real-life scenarios. These stories provide a balanced picture, showing both satisfied users and those who encountered challenges.

    Homeowners and Renters

A common theme in reviews is that homeowners and renters use SuperToughTape for quick organization projects. One renter explained that she mounted spice racks, bathroom hooks, and wall art without leaving holes in her apartment walls. She praised the clean removal when it came time to move out. On the other hand, a homeowner reported peeling paint after removing the tape from painted drywall, which aligns with common complaints. This shows how results depend on the condition of the surface.

    DIY Enthusiasts

DIY hobbyists often give detailed testimonials. A garage owner in Ohio described how he used SuperToughTape to organize heavy tools and install shelves without drilling. He confirmed that the tape held strong even during summer heat. Another customer, however, tried using the tape on textured cinder block walls and reported that items fell within days. This case study illustrates why instructions stress smooth surfaces only.

    Parents and Families

Parents often review products with practicality in mind. A mother in Florida shared that she used SuperToughTape to secure rugs, hang holiday decorations, and mount bathroom organizers. She appreciated not needing power tools with children in the house. A complaint from another parent mentioned that after several reuses, the tape lost some stickiness. The difference between these two testimonials highlights how reusability works best when the tape is cleaned and stored properly.

    Outdoor and Seasonal Users

Some buyers report using SuperToughTape outdoors. A verified customer testimonial described securing plastic curtains to a brick patio wall, holding up under 30 mph winds. Positive reviews like this appear often in outdoor case studies. Still, complaints from humid regions mention that heavy rainfall reduces adhesion, leading to disappointment. This variation shows why setting realistic expectations is key for outdoor projects.

    Gift Buyers and General Consumers

SuperToughTape has also been purchased as a practical gift. Testimonials mention it being included in toolboxes, holiday gift baskets, and even given to college students moving into dorms. Positive reviews emphasize its usefulness as a versatile, everyday tool. A few complaints come from gift buyers who felt the packaging did not reflect the advertised premium quality.

    Balanced View on Testimonials

Across these testimonials, patterns emerge: strong results on smooth, clean surfaces and complaints when used outside those guidelines. Case studies reinforce what experts say: SuperToughTape is effective but not universal. Reviews highlight the freedom it gives renters, parents, and DIY fans, while complaints reflect the importance of preparation, correct use, and realistic limits.

Does SuperToughTape really hold heavy items?

Yes, reviews confirm that SuperToughTape can hold up to 16 times its weight when applied correctly. Customers have used it for shelves, hooks, and tool racks. Complaints arise when it is used on rough or dusty surfaces, which reduces adhesion.

    Can SuperToughTape be reused?

Yes. The tape is designed to be reusable. After removing, you can rinse it with water, let it dry, and use it again. Reviews highlight savings from this feature. Some complaints mention weaker stickiness after multiple reuses, showing that lifespan depends on cleaning and storage.

    Will SuperToughTape damage my walls?

SuperToughTape is marketed as residue-free. Positive reviews confirm clean removal from glass, tile, and sealed wood. Complaints appear when used on painted drywall, where peeling paint has been reported. To avoid this, test a small strip first and avoid applying to fragile painted surfaces.

Is SuperToughTape safe for outdoor use?

Yes, within limits. The tape is rated to withstand 30°F to 120°F. Positive reviews describe success in garages, patios, and outdoor setups. Complaints note that extreme moisture, humidity, or heavy rain can weaken adhesion. For permanent outdoor solutions, more specialized adhesives may be needed.

What surfaces does SuperToughTape work best on?

Smooth, clean, and dry surfaces. Examples include glass, tile, polished wood, and sealed metal. Complaints often come from buyers who tried using it on porous or textured surfaces like brick, stucco, or concrete.

How do I remove SuperToughTape without leaving residue?

Peel the tape slowly and evenly. For stubborn spots, a damp cloth can help loosen the adhesive. Reviews say removal is clean in most cases, but complaints about paint peeling show why caution is important.

    Is there a refund policy?

Yes. SuperToughTape offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Reviews confirm some buyers have received refunds, while complaints mention delays in processing. Keeping order details and contacting support within the 30-day window improves the process.

Can I buy SuperToughTape in stores?

No. The safest place to buy is through the official website. Complaints about counterfeit or poor-quality tape usually come from third-party marketplaces. Ordering direct ensures authenticity and access to the refund guarantee.

    Is SuperToughTape a scam?

No. Reviews confirm it is a legitimate product sold by Super Brand Tools. Complaints usually relate to surface compatibility, refund delays, or high expectations, not fraud. Ordering from the official site is the best way to avoid problems.

    Who should buy SuperToughTape?

Renters, homeowners, students, parents, and DIY fans benefit most. Reviews show these groups find it valuable for tool-free projects. Complaints often come from buyers who try to use it outside its intended range.

Bonus Tips: How to Avoid SuperToughTape Complaints

When looking at SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025, it’s clear that many issues stem from avoidable mistakes. Customers who follow best practices usually report strong results, while those who overlook simple steps are more likely to leave negative feedback. Below are practical tips to reduce frustration and get the best value from SuperToughTape.

Order Direct From the Official Website

Many complaints come from buyers who purchased through third-party sellers and received counterfeit or low-quality tape. The safest option is to order from the official Super Brand Tools website. This guarantees authenticity, access to the 30-day money-back policy, and proper customer support.

    Prepare Surfaces Before Application

Reviews show that SuperToughTape sticks best to smooth, clean, and dry surfaces. Dust, grease, or moisture reduces adhesion and leads to complaints about items falling. Always wipe surfaces with a clean cloth before applying. This step makes a significant difference in performance.

    Use Within Recommended Limits

SuperToughTape is strong, but it has limits. Complaints often come from buyers who tried to use it on rough brick, stucco, or heavily textured walls. Stick to glass, tile, polished wood, or sealed metal for reliable results. Testing a small piece first helps ensure compatibility.

    Follow Reuse Instructions

One of the top features is reusability, but reviews confirm that improper cleaning shortens the tape’s lifespan. After removing, rinse under water, allow it to dry fully, and then reapply. Complaints about weakened stickiness usually come from skipping this step.

    Be Cautious With Painted Walls

Paint peeling is one of the biggest complaints. To avoid damage, do not apply SuperToughTape directly to fragile or older painted drywall. If you must mount items on painted surfaces, test with a small strip first. Reviews confirm clean removal on high-quality paint, but complaints show inconsistency.

    Track Shipments and Refund Requests

Some complaints involve delayed shipping or slow refunds. Ordering directly and saving your confirmation email makes it easier to track your package. For refunds, contact customer support promptly within 30 days and provide all details. Reviews show that following the correct process increases success rates.

    Set Realistic Expectations

SuperToughTape is a reusable adhesive, not a permanent construction tool. It works well for mounting, organizing, and decorating, but it cannot replace nails or screws for every project. Buyers who recognize this distinction leave positive reviews, while those expecting unlimited strength often leave complaints.

    Balanced Takeaway

Avoiding complaints about SuperToughTape comes down to preparation, proper use, and realistic expectations. Most negative feedback is preventable with these steps, while positive reviews consistently highlight how it saves time and effort when used correctly.

Get the Best Results With SuperToughTape

Final Verdict: Should You Try SuperToughTape in 2025?

SuperToughTape reviews and complaints in 2025 reveal a balanced picture of a product that delivers strong results for many buyers but also carries limits that should be understood before purchase. After looking at the pros, cons, testimonials, and expert insights, it becomes easier to decide if this mounting tape is the right solution for your needs.

    Why Many Buyers Recommend It

Positive reviews emphasize convenience, strength, and reusability. Customers highlight how it replaces nails, screws, and drilling for everyday projects. Parents use it to secure rugs and decorations. Renters appreciate that it avoids wall damage and makes moving out easier. DIY enthusiasts rely on it for quick setups in garages and outdoor spaces. The tape’s ability to support heavy items on smooth surfaces is one of the biggest selling points.

    Where Complaints Come In

On the other hand, complaints focus on surface limitations, refund delays, and occasional shipping issues. Customers who applied SuperToughTape to rough or porous materials, such as brick or stucco, often felt disappointed. Paint damage during removal is another recurring complaint. Refund concerns appear when buyers miss deadlines or experience processing delays. While these issues don’t make the product a scam, they highlight the importance of following directions and ordering through the official site.

    Who Benefits the Most

SuperToughTape is ideal for individuals seeking quick, tool-free solutions. Renters, college students, homeowners, and busy families are ideal users. If you need a reusable adhesive that holds shelves, hooks, and décor securely on smooth surfaces, reviews suggest you’ll likely be satisfied. If you expect flawless adhesion on every surface or plan to use it in extreme outdoor conditions, complaints suggest you may be disappointed.

    Is It Worth the Price?

With frequent discounts and bundle offers, the cost per roll is affordable compared to alternatives. Reviews point to good value, especially when factoring in reusability. The 30-day money-back guarantee reduces risk, though complaints about refund processing mean you should keep records and act quickly if returning. Overall, the pricing is competitive for the features provided.

    Final Takeaway

SuperToughTape is not perfect, but it is a legitimate, practical product that satisfies most buyers when used correctly. Reviews confirm that it delivers on its promises of strength, reusability, and versatility. Complaints highlight avoidable mistakes and misaligned expectations. If you want a tool-free adhesive solution for smooth surfaces, SuperToughTape is a safe choice in 2025.

Still: The Art of Noticing by Mary Jo Hoffman: A Review

    [ad_1]

What happens when you assemble and photograph found bits of nature every single day for 12 years and counting? Mary Jo Hoffman calls her art—as well as her blog and her new bookStill and writes that her practice is not only “a respite from the enervating buzz of contemporary life,” but a way of paying attention. “Finding each day’s subject requires me to live more often than not in a heightened state of awareness that makes me extraordinarily happy.”

I can relate: I have a similar daily habit that evolved from collecting leaves on dog walks (see How I Became an Accidental Botanical Artist). But though we’re admiring much of the same foliage—I’m based in a bucolic patch of the Bronx and Mary Jo lives on three acres outside Minneapolis—our work is quite different.

Her photographs, whether of a single feather or an elaborate seed composition, have the satisfying completeness of solved equations. Mary Jo, you see, is a Stanford-educated applied mathematician and worked for 20 years as an aeronautical space engineer. “There will always be some engineering, more or less evident, behind what Mary Jo crafts of her materials, and what she crafts of herself,” writes her husband, Steve Hoffman, in the prologue to Still: The Art of Noticing.

Here, a look at some highlights from the book, which, when I last checked, was the best-selling volume from Phaidon Press’s spring catalogue.

Wanting to join an online art community, she decided to begin with photography, something she was already good at, and to spend time in nature. She committed to making her art daily for a year back in January 2012—and has never missed a day since. “It’s like my daily yoga; I find it too life-enhancing to stop.”

  • The Bug Snug: An Easy DIY Insect Habitat by OmVed Gardens

The Bug Snug: An Easy DIY Insect Habitat by OmVed Gardens

    [ad_1]

Every so often a DIY project comes across our Instagram feed that stops us in our tracks–as was the case when Omved Gardens shared a video tutorial on building a “bug snug” for hibernating insects. Here was a truly easy to do-it-yourself project that uses materials gardeners likely have on hand (sticks and twine) and solves a common problem (what to do with extra cuttings and slow-to-compost twigs), all while supporting wildlife. We bookmarked it straightaway, but what was even more intriguing was that within a few weeks, we saw other gardeners recreating the bug snug or reposting OmVed’s video on their own feed: This humble garden DIY had gone about as viral as a garden post could go.

Founded in 2017 on a formally tarmacked piece of land in north London’s Highgate Village, Omved Gardens is an educational garden and community space with a focus on biodiversity and permaculture. John Gaffney, the landscape gardener at Omved, says inspiration for the bug snug came from a visit to the Royal Horticultural Society’s Wisley Garden last fall. “When leaving the gardens I noticed these pyramidal structures dotted around the car park,” says Gaffney. “There were signs posted explaining the purpose of these interesting structures and how they were made.” The towers of sticks support insects and invertebrates by providing a safe place to hibernate, and the hollow stems of dead plants, in particular, make excellent little hideaways.

So when Gaffney was left with piles of sticks and hollow stems after preparing Omved’s wildflower beds for winter, he decided to make a smaller-scale version of the pyramids he’d seen at Wisley. “As gardeners, it’s very easy to want to get in the garden and clean up all the mess and the cuttings off the floor. But actually what wildlife wants is a bit of mess,” Gaffney says. And not only are the structures functional and attractive, he notes, they have made for great conversation starters about how to “prepare” for winter and the need to leave a bit of untidiness around for wildlife.

Here’s how to create your own bug snug.

Photography by Will Hearle, courtesy of OmVed Gardens, unless otherwise noted.

    Step 1: Build the frame.

Gaffney demonstrates how to create the frame for the bug snug. Stills from video by Will Hearle for OmVed Gardens.
Above: Gaffney demonstrates how to create the frame for the bug snug. Stills from video by Will Hearle for OmVed Gardens.

Choose a position for your snug in a sunny spot if possible. Gather three sturdy wood poles of equal length; Gaffney used hazel, but says you can use any straight pieces of wood, including bamboo canes. You can make your snug any size (OmVed’s snugs stand about chest high). Gaffney tied the poles together informally; if you want to get fancy, you can use a clove hitch to create a proper tripod lashing. Once you’ve secured the poles, they should stand up by themselves, but you can knock them into the ground with a hammer or mallet to make the pyramid more secure.
