  • Where to eat on Christmas Day: More restaurants are open in Fort Worth

The list of “what’s open Christmas Day” is longer than usual.

Restaurants need the money. But they’re also offering some new ideas for family dining and fun:

    1. MEDITERRANEAN BUFFETS

Dimassi’s, the sprawling cafeteria-style Lebanese buffet restaurants from Houston, will be open Christmas as usual and every day in Fort Worth, Grapevine and at five other area locations.

But there’s a new choice this year: Truva.

If you don’t know the name Truva, you know the Flying Carpet. Chef Can Karataş has both, along with Istanbul Cuisine restaurants in other North Texas cities.

Truva just opened at 1205 Church St. in the Town Center Colleyville shops. It’s billed as the largest Mediterranean restaurant in Texas.

It’s open for lunch Christmas Day, serving a full buffet with grill dishes, omelets, appetizers and desserts.

The price is reasonable: $32.95. The setting is a rich, wood-paneled dining room with panoramic windows and high ceilings, a good pick for a family gathering Christmas Day or anytime over the holidays.

Truva’s regular menu is $16-$17 at lunch, $20-$26 at dinner. The Mediterranean-style steaks are about $40.

It’s open for lunch and dinner daily; 817-576-4064.

    2. BETTER HOTEL RESTAURANTS

—Bricks & Horses, the city’s leading hotel restaurant in a spectacular Western-style setting, will serve Christmas Eve tea, Christmas Day brunch and then a $115 family-style dinner at night Christmas Eve and Day.

    It’s at 3700 Camp Bowie Blvd.; 682-782-6688, bricksandhorses.com.

—Wicked Butcher. a Dallas-based prime steakhouse in the historic Sinclair hotel, will serve its full menu Christmas Eve dinner and all day Christmas Day with steaks, seafood and specialties such as beef Wellington, prime rib or duck à l’orange.

    It’s at 512 Main St.; 817-601-4621, wickedbutcher.com.

(Street parking downtown is free nights, weekends and holidays.)

—Most hotels are open, including the lavish holiday buffets at the Omni Fort Worth, Crescent Fort Worth and Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

    3. TAKE THE TRAIN

The TEXRail trains to Grapevine DFW Airport will be on regular schedule Christmas Day, so take the family to Bacchus Kitchen at Hotel Vin in the Grapevine train station.

The special $95 menu includes beef tournedos au poivre; 215 E. Dallas Road, 817-251-3040, bacchustx.com.

    4. RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN

    More Christmas Day dining:

—Rosebud Steakhouse, the flashy new Chicago-style prime steakhouse in Southlake, will be open at 2102 Texas 114 East; 817-634-5050, rosebudsteak.com.

    —Heaven’s Gate Restaurant, the city’s traditional family holiday buffet, is $27.95. It’s open 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Christmas Day at 3820 N. Main St.; 817-624-1262, heavensgaterestaurant.com.

—Texas de Brazil and most other Brazilian prime steakhouses will open and add turkey or other meats to the selection.

—Also in downtown Fort Worth, Mercury Chophouse at 525 Taylor St. will be open and serving Christmas lunch to customers including Fort Worth police and other first responders; 817-336-4129, mercuryfw.com.

—The Rim restaurants and corporate cousin Rio Mambo will open at all locations and serve an all-you-can-eat $39.99 brunch. The Rim will feature brisket and ham at its restaurants in Fort Worth and Burleson.

—Ol’ South Pancake House, a definitive all-day cafe for Texas travelers since 1962, will open at 8 a.m. Christmas Day at both locations, 1509 S. University Drive in Fort Worth and 225 E. Renfro St. in Burleson.

—Rex’s Bar & Grill, the new sports grill spinoff of Ol’ South, will open at 11 a.m. Christmas and serve all day at 1501 S. University Drive.

—In the Stockyards, Paloma Suerte and Tannahill’s Tavern are both listed as open but have not provided information.

Other restaurants open Christmas Day: all Black Bear Diner locations, Brio Italian Grille in Southlake, all Del Frisco’s Grille and Saltgrass Steakhouse locations, and all Red Lobster locations.

  • Casa CeCe: Midtown’s ultimate supper club experience where you can expect the unexpected | amNewYork

Casa CeCe is bringing an immersive experience to a supper club environment.

Casa CeCe—where you expect the unexpected—delivers Midtown Manhattan’s newest immersive experience.

Performance art and sensual cabaret collide here, led by Miss Daddy Ringmaster and her troupe of rebellious goddesses, immersing you into a world of pure femininity that’s reminiscent of cabaret.

“You have a restaurant and that’s it,” said Eric Biberman, one of the forces behind Casa CeCe. “We start you off with drinks, food, and a show—now that’s nightlife. That was the whole concept behind this.”

Biberman brings a decade of city nightlife experience, and his partner Cover (of the Dream Hotel Group) adds twenty years in hospitality. Together, they set out to bring a different experience to the New York City nightlife scene. They designed the supperclub to be intimate, allowing guests to see every part of the aerial performance from any angle in the establishment.

Every detail in the restaurant speaks for itself, with mirrored accents and green velvet banquettes that set a theatrical tone. While reinforced surfaces, soaring ceilings, and integrated rigging allow the space to shift seamlessly from dinner to performance to late-night party.

“I wanted a place where my friends and family can go have dinner… It’s not a nightclub, it’s an immersive experience,” Cover told amNY.

Casa CeCe offers a long list of cocktail small bites (the boa buns stand out) and an extensive, curated drink menu, making it the perfect spot for dinner with a twist.

With Casa CeCe, Cover and Biberman have created a venue where dinner, performance, and nightlife fully converge—an immersive, transformable space unlike anything currently in New York’s hospitality or entertainment landscape.

  • VEGAS DINING NEWS: Steaks Stripped from Caesars Palace Eatery, Red Rock to Swap New Restaurant for Old One – Casino.org

    Posted on: November 15, 2025, 06:00h.

    Last updated on: November 15, 2025, 09:06h.

In March 2023, Caesars Entertainment and Tao Group Hospitality debuted Stanton Social Prime at Caesars Palace as an offshoot of New York City’s Stanton Social, which closed in 2018. But steak didn’t cut it for the owners — at least not as much as the Stanton connection did.

Executive chef and Stanton Social brand owner Chris Santos traded prime cuts for primavera at Caesars Palace. (Image: Caesars Entertainment)

So the restaurant quickly and quietly switched both its cuisine and name last week to Stanton Social Italian. Former Stanton Social executive chef and co-owner Chris Santos still mans the kitchen, only now it’s prepping primavera instead of prime cuts.

“The next chapter for Stanton Social focuses on classic Italian cuisine by way of New York’s long and storied history of Italian-inspired, iconic neighborhood restaurants from Little Italy to the Bronx,” Santos said in a Friday announcement.

The new menu features a curated selection of modern Italian dishes designed for sharing, including Fritto Misto with calamari, shrimp, squash, cherry peppers, arrabbiata sauce and preserved lemon aioli.

Astonishingly, the restaurant managed to remain open during the change.

    Dining Ins & Outs

The Hello Kitty Café opened at Park MGM in July 2019. (Image: sanrio.com)

A third New Hello Kitty Café is coming to the Strip. Kitty White, the icon behind the global pop culture brand, will open the eatery on the second floor of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. (The other Hello Kittys are at Park MGM and the Fashion Show mall.)

Zippy’s, the beloved Hawaiian food diner that opened its first Las Vegas location in October 2023, will open its fourth and fifth locations in early 2026: at 10810 W. Charleston Blvd. in Summerlin South and 5485 Camino Al Norte in North Las Vegas. (Its current restaurants are at 7095 Badura Ave. in southwest Las Vegas, 4590 S. Hualapai Way in Spring Valley and 9570 S. Eastern Ave in Henderson.)

Leoncito ya no está en Red Rock Resort. (Image: Facebook)

The Hush Puppy — comforting Las Vegas and enriching its cardiologists with southern-fried goodies since 1975 — will open its second Las Vegas location, at downtown’s Neonopolis, on November 18.

Red Rock Resort quiet-closed Leoncito modern Mexican in late September. According to Vital Vegas, it will be replaced early next year with Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar. Bizarrely, this is the very restaurant that Red Rock shuttered in 2023 to create space for Leoncito.

Red Rock also plans to close the oven on Side Piece after four years and replace it with another pizza concept, Good Pie.

Finally, as per Vital Vegas — which we gratefully credit for half of this column’s news — the struggling  Pepper Club at downtown’s English Hotel will close on January 1, 2026. Its replacement is something that the real-estate development group renting the space called “something exciting” in a press statement even though it probably has nothing lined up or it would have mentioned it.

  • VEGAS MYTHS RE-BUSTED: Celebrity Chefs Work in Their Own Restaurants – Casino.org

    Posted on: September 26, 2025, 07:21h.

    Last updated on: September 25, 2025, 09:51h.

EDITOR’S NOTE: “Vegas Myths Busted” publishes every Monday, with a bonus Flashback Friday edition. Today’s entry in our ongoing series originally ran on June 17, 2024.

It’s not too difficult to figure out who started the myth that celebrity chefs work in their own restaurants. According to an old menu at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace: “If you think the guy sitting at the end of the bar looks a lot like Gordon, well, it just might be.”

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay poses for a photo in a restaurant in which he has never cooked, Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace. (Image: vistlasvegas.com)
Ramsay poses for his contractually required photos at the grand opening of his first Hell’s Kitchen in January 2018. (Image: Brenton Ho/KabikPhotoGroup.com)

    Booking the Cooks

Caesars Entertainment wants you to think you can meet or see Ramsay by dining at one of the six Las Vegas restaurants they operate for him — so much so that the casino company requires him to visit each one at least once a year, for at least 24 consecutive hours.

During each visit, Ramsay is contractually obligated to allow himself to be photographed as though his being there is a perfectly normal occurrence and not just a requirement for him to earn his $340K annual name-licensing fee per restaurant, along with 5%-6% of Caesars’ gross profits from it.

This suggests what we all kind of know intuitively — that once someone earns millions from TV shows and passive licensing deals, they don’t want to have to cook your Crispy Skin Salmon over a hot stove after you arrive famished from seeing Mat Franco’s 7 p.m. show at the LINQ.

Celebrity chefs may sometimes help design the menus at their Las Vegas restaurants — that’s both may and sometimes. But they never cook in them. Doing so may actually be illegal if they don’t possess a Nevada health card.

Instead, they rely on their hotel partners’ food and beverage departments to manage the restaurants.

Ramsay cooks in a scene for his long-running “Hell’s Kitchen” Fox-TV reality series, which is always shot on soundstages, never in his restaurants. Seasons 23 and 24, now filming at the Foxwoods in Connecticut, is set on a soundstage at the casino resort, not in the Hell’s Kitchen there. (Image: Fox-TV)

    How We Know For Sure

We only know about Caesars’ deal with Ramsay because it was among the financial relationships exposed by the Wall Street Journal during the company’s 2016 bankruptcy proceedings.

We assume that Caesars, and other casino companies, have similar deals with Guy Fieri, José Andrés, Guy Savoy, Giada De Laurentis, Michael Mina, and David Chang, though those deals have never been made public.

The only time celebrity chefs can be counted on to be at their restaurants is for their grand openings.

Unfortunately, that’s one of the only times you can’t be because those are invite-only affairs open exclusively to celebrities and other casino VIPs.

Look for “Vegas Myths Busted” every Monday on Casino.org. Visit VegasMythsBusted.com to read previously busted Vegas myths. Got a suggestion for a Vegas myth that needs busting? Email corey@casino.org.

I also see around 7 restaurant specific offers in my account, with savings as high as 50%.

Even without any gift card deals or promotions, you can earn 20% back in rewards every time you pay with a credit card through the inKind app. On top of that, it triggers the Amex Gold Card Resy credit, if a restaurant is also on Resy.

Check out the details of this latest gift card sale below.

    Guru’s Wrap-up

This is a good deal that will save you 35% on dining. Not only it makes it cheaper to dine out or grab a drink, but also more convenient. With inKind you don’t need to give your server the credit card and wait for them to come back. Instead you just enter the check number in the app, and the check details pop up.
