Songwriter Corroborates Cassie’s Claims Of Abuse By Diddy

    [ad_1]

A friend and collaborator of the singer Cassie corroborated the singer’s claim that her ex, media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, was physically and sexually abusive toward her.

In an open letter to Diddy published in Rolling Stone on Thursday, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Tiffany Red said he “traumatized” her. Red’s piece follows Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy, which was filed on Nov. 16 and privately settled less than 24 hours later.

“I’m breaking my silence, freeing myself from haunting recollections, standing in solidarity with Cassie, and standing up for myself,” Red wrote. “I fear for my safety as her suit alludes to me, although not by name. I hope that revealing my identity to the public will afford me some measure of protection.”

Red has written songs for Cassie, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Tamar Braxton, Zendaya and more, according to her website.

In the “Me and U” singer’s lawsuit, Cassie claimed Diddy repeatedly beat her, raped her and forced her to abuse drugs and alcohol. She also claimed he blew up the car of rapper-producer Kid Cudi when Diddy learned Cudi had a romantic interest in Cassie. Cassie also said Diddy would force her to do “Freak Offs,” a term he used to describe her having sex with multiple male sex workers as he watched, recorded and pleasured himself.

In her letter, Red said she has memories of numerous instances of Diddy being abusive toward Cassie that have since “tormented” her. Red also claimed that everything in Cassie’s lawsuit was consistent with what she witnessed as Cassie’s friend.

“Your abuse of power has inflicted ongoing harm on countless individuals, including myself, my friends, and my peers,” she wrote. “The power imbalance makes it nearly impossible to fight back and terrifying to speak up. But despite that, here I am, standing beside my friend.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs, shown here arriving at the BET Awards in June 2022, settled the lawsuit with his ex-girlfriend on Nov. 17, the day after it was filed.

Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy was filed just days before the Adult Survivors Act was set to end in New York. The law, which expired on Nov. 24, gave victims a year to come forward with abuse allegations even if the alleged abuse occurred outside the statute of limitations.

Cassie’s lawsuit was the first of at least three others accusing Diddy of violence and sexual abuse. On Thanksgiving, a “Jane Doe” alleged that Diddy and singer Aaron Hall raped her in 1990 or 1991. The same day, Joi Dickerson-Neal accused him of raping her when she was a student at Syracuse University and then sharing a video of it with multiple people. These two lawsuits were filed under the Adult Survivors Act.

On Wednesday, another “Jane Doe” accused Diddy of getting her intoxicated and “gang banging” her with two other associates, including record executive Harve Pierre, when she was a 17-year-old high school junior. Doe’s suit included pictures of her with the then-34-year-old music mogul at the studio where she alleged the abuse happened. This suit was filed under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act, which is similar to the Adult Survivors Act and expires in March 2025.

In a statement posted online on Wednesday, Diddy denied the numerous allegations against him.

“Enough is enough,” he said. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Diddy, who changed his name to “Love,” has branded himself as a “fun-loving, often-smiling purveyor of peace,” HuffPost’s Stephen A. Crockett Jr. wrote in a HuffPost opinion article earlier this month. But both confirmed and unconfirmed rumors about him being violent have circulated for years.

50 Cent to make documentary about Diddy’s alleged sexual assaults – National | Globalnews.ca

NOTE: The following article contains disturbing content. Please read at your own discretion.

Rapper 50 Cent has announced that his production company will be creating a documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs, who in recent weeks has been accused of rape and sexual assault by four separate women.

On Wednesday, a representative for 50 Cent (real name Curtis James Jackson III) confirmed to TMZ that the 48-year-old rapper’s production company G-Unit Films and Television is developing a documentary about the allegations against Combs. The rep said proceeds from the documentary will benefit victims of sexual assault and rape.

Jackson teased a snippet of the documentary on Instagram on Wednesday. In the clip, former Bad Boy Records rapper Mark Curry said Combs would spike bottles of Moët with a substance that would make women at nightclubs “slippery.” Curry alleged that Combs would tell his friends and associates not to drink from certain bottles.

    Story continues below advertisement

Curry continued, claiming once women who drank from the bottles were presumably under the influence of something, Combs would put pills into their mouths.

Jackson will be an executive producer of the documentary. His company, G-Unit Films and Television, has produced myriad true crime TV shows and podcasts.

Combs, 54, has denied all allegations against him, including ones from a lawsuit filed on Wednesday that claim the rapper “sex trafficked and gang raped” a 17-year-old girl.

As news of the lawsuit involving a minor was circulating, Combs posted a statement to Instagram and wrote, “enough is enough.”

“For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he continued. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Also on Wednesday, while promoting the documentary, Jackson took aim at rapper Rick Ross, as well as Combs.

He shared lyrics from Ross’s verse on the Rocko song U.O.E.N.O. where Ross raps, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”

    Story continues below advertisement

“Molly” is the common street name for the drug MDMA, also called ecstasy.

Jackson shared a photo of Combs and Ross together. It is unclear if Ross will also be a subject in the new documentary.

Jackson has teased the film under several different working titles, one being Diddy Do It? As of now, it is unclear what the documentary will be called, or when it will be released.

    The allegations against Diddy

In November, Combs’ former longtime partner R&B singer Cassie Ventura accused the music mogul of repeated rape and physical assault spanning nearly a decade. In her lawsuit, Ventura, who was signed to Combs’ record label, said she was “trapped by Mr. Combs in a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking.” Ventura cited numerous instances of graphic abuse in her lawsuit, including alleged instances where Combs “punched, beat, kicked and stomped” her.

As news of Ventura’s suit was breaking, Jackson took to Instagram to upload a scowling selfie. In the caption, he appeared to mock Combs’ moniker “Brother Love.”

“Damn brother love, brother love, brother love, you out here looking CRAZY AS A MF. LMAO,” he wrote.

    Story continues below advertisement

Combs and Ventura settled the lawsuit one day after she filed. The terms of the settlement are not publicly known.

Since Ventura’s suit, Combs has been hit with three more.

In one lawsuit, Joi Dickerson-Neal said she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Combs in 1991. Dickerson-Neal appeared alongside Combs in a music video for the Finesse and Synquis song Straight From The Soul.

Dickerson-Neal accused him of slipping an unknown substance into her drink and then raping her. In her lawsuit, she claimed he shared a recording of the rape with other men in the music industry as a form of “revenge porn.”

A third woman accused Combs and R&B singer Aaron Hall of sexually assaulting her and a friend at an apartment in the early 1990s. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, said she and her friend were “coerced” into having sex.

The fourth lawsuit against Combs — one claiming he raped and trafficked a 17-year-old girl in 2003 — included allegations that he invited the girl, known only as Jane Doe, to his recording studio, where he “plied” her with drugs and alcohol. Jane Doe said she was unable to consent to sex. The lawsuit claims she was “gang raped” by Combs, Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Entertainment, and another unnamed person.

As more women have come forward to accuse Combs of rape and sexual assault, Jackson has continued to post online, slamming the Mo Money Mo Problems rapper. Despite backing Combs’ accusers, Jackson has openly fretted that Combs would be “fine” because he has “so much money.”

Combs and Jackson have had bad blood on and off since the 2000s, when Jackson claimed Combs may have been involved in the death of rapper Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G.

    Why now?

Combs, like several other influential people, has been sued under the New York Adult Survivors Act, which in May 2022 created a one-year window for adult survivors of sexual assault to file a legal claim, even if the statute of limitations has expired. The window to file a lawsuit against an alleged abuser began on Nov. 24, 2022, and expired exactly one year later.

Jamie Foxx, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Axl Rose of the band Guns N’ Roses were also accused of sexual assault under the legislation.

  • A Fourth Woman Accuses Diddy of Sexual Assault

A Fourth Woman Accuses Diddy of Sexual Assault

    [ad_1]

Last month, the R&B singer Cassie made a series of shocking claims about her relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, whom she met in 2005 when she was 19 years old. The hip-hop mogul, she said in a federal lawsuit, trapped her in a yearslong cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking, and raped her toward the end of their relationship in 2018.

Combs denied these claims and settled with Cassie the following day. But in the days that followed, two more women filed lawsuits against Combs accusing him of sexual assault. In a fourth lawsuit filed on Wednesday, a woman who is unnamed in court documents claims that Combs and two of his associates took turns raping her in 2003, when she was a 17-year-old high school student.

According to the suit brought against Combs and two associates, the woman met the two Combs associates—Harve Pierre, the former president of Combs’s Bad Boy Entertainment, and an unnamed third man—at a lounge in the Detroit area, and Pierre told her he was “best friends” with Combs and called him with her. Combs allegedly convinced the woman to accompany Pierre and the unnamed man on a private jet to his studio in New York City. At the studio, the suit claims, the three men plied her with drugs and alcohol and began raping her. She fell into the fetal position on a bathroom floor, the suit says, and was flown back to Michigan, when she awoke.

“Incredibly,” the suit says, “the allegations brought by Ms. Doe are in many ways even more egregious than those brought by his prior victims.”

“Enough is enough,” Combs wrote in a statement Wednesday.

As with Cassie’s lawsuit, the new suit was filed by attorney Douglas Wigdor and includes a trigger warning on its first page: “This document contains highly graphic information of a sexual nature, including sexual assault.” The previous three suits against Combs in recent weeks were filed under the Adult Survivors Act in New York, which granted alleged victims of sexual abuse a one-year window to file civil complaints regardless of whether the statute of limitations has passed. The window expired last month, prompting a flurry of new complaints against high-profile actors, musicians, and politicians. The new suit was filed under New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act, which similarly granted a window from March 2023 to March 2025 for accusers to file civil complaints involving sexual assault claims after the expiration of the statute of limitations.

The suit said that the woman read about Cassie’s lawsuit last month as well as an additional complaint filed against Pierre. (A former assistant accused Pierre last month of grooming and sexually assaulting her; the former Bad Boy executive has not commented on the claims.) “Seeing two other women bravely speak out against Mr. Combs and Mr. Pierre, respectively,” the suit said, “gave Ms. Doe the confidence to tell her story as well.”

  • Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Hit With Second Lawsuit Alleging Sexual Assault

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Hit With Second Lawsuit Alleging Sexual Assault

    [ad_1]

Less than a week after settling a lawsuit with former Bad Boy artist Cassie which accused him of rape, Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing more sexual assault allegations.

In a complaint filed on Thursday in New York Supreme Court and obtained by Variety, Joi Dickerson-Neal alleged that Combs “drugged, sexually assaulted and abused” her and that she was the victim of “revenge porn” created and distributed by the rapper. The suit — which also names Combs’ companies Bad Boy Entertainment and and Combs Enterprises as defendants — was filed under the Adult Survivors Act, which allowed alleged victims of sexual abuse a one-year period to file civil suits for offenses beyond the typical statute of limitations. Thursday marked the final day to file a complaint under the act.

According to the complaint, Dickerson-Neal and Combs met while she was a student at Syracuse University in 1991 and she agreed to attend a dinner with him after appearing in one of his music videos. The suit then alleges that Combs “intentionally drugged” Dickerson-Neal during the dinner, sexually assaulted her, recorded it on video and shared the tape with others. Dickerson-Neal is suing Combs for “substantial and lifetime injuries” that she says resulted from the alleged assault, including “severe depression and suicide ideation.” Dickerson-Neal is demanding a trial by jury and compensation for alleged “mental and emotional injury, distress, pain and suffering and injury to her reputation,” according to the complaint.

Representatives for Combs and his businesses did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment. However, in a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for Combs called the allegations “made up and not credible,” adding that the suit is “purely a money grab.”

“This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head,” the spokesperson told CNN. “Mr. Combs never assaulted her, and she implicates companies that did not exist.”

The new lawsuit follows one filed last week by Casandra Ventura, aka Cassie, in which she alleged that Combs raped and beat her over the course of a decade. Combs denied the allegations. Just one day after the suit was filed, Ventura and Combs reached a settlement.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Ventura said in a statement at the time.

“We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love,” Combs added.

In a follow-up statement, Combs’ attorney Ben Brafman said, “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Cassie Spotted For First Time Since Diddy Lawsuit Amid Rumors He Pressured Her Into Getting Breast Implants Before Demanding Reduction

    [ad_1]

New pictures show that Cassie Ventura seems to be in good spirits after going public with her bombshell allegations against her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs. Her sighting comes amid a new report alleging that she suffered a traumatic plastic surgery experience as “demanded” by the Bad Boy Records head.

    Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty

In photos obtained by Page Six, the singer can be seen smiling as paparazzi capture photos of her walking outside in her hometown of New London, Connecticut on Monday.

As she took her stroll, Cassie was dressed casually in a gray sweatshirt, a matching pair of sweatpants, and a pair of chunky sneakers. She wore her long, wavy hair down and parted down the middle, seemingly going all-natural with no makeup.

The star was accompanied by her little one, holding the hand of her daughter Frankie, who will turn 4 next month. In her other hand, she carried a pink puffer jacket along with a game of Twister, possibly getting prepared for some family fun over the holidays.

This marks the first time Cassie has been seen publicly since filing a lawsuit against Diddy on Thursday. In the complaint, she alleged that he had subjected her to years of sexual, physical, and mental abuse throughout their decade-long relationship.

Though Combs “vehemently denie[d] these offensive and outrageous allegations,”  the pair reached an out-of-court agreement just 24 hours later.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

In his own statement, Diddy said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Regardless of their settlement, new rumors about the former couple’s relationship are still coming to light. According to reports from Daily Mail, Combs once pressured Cassie to get breast implants–only to order her to have them removed the following day despite the plastic surgeon’s warnings it could harm her.

A source close to the former couple allegedly told the outlet about her horror while witnessing the exchange, which saw Cassie, fresh from surgery, crying but silent as the Bad Boy founder demanded celebrity surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan immediately remove the implants despite the serious health risks.

“Diddy thought they could go right back into surgery, like now, and take them out,” the witness recalled to the DailyMail. “And Dr. Ryan was like, ‘No way,’ trying to explain to him that we should wait at least six months to see how it heals because she was just opened up.”

“But Diddy was like, ‘No, they’ve got to come out, call who you need to call, they’ve got to come out,’” the source continued.

The witness said the discussion took place shortly after Thanksgiving in 2009 at the office of Dr. Ryan, who died the following year after driving off a cliff in Malibu while sending a text message. The source said she did not speak out at the time to avoid causing more problems for the couple.

  • Cassie & Diddy Reach Settlement In Lawsuit Alleging Assault, Abuse & Trafficking

Cassie & Diddy Reach Settlement In Lawsuit Alleging Assault, Abuse & Trafficking

    [ad_1]

Just one day after Cassie filed a bombshell sexual assault, abuse, and trafficking lawsuit against Diddy, they decided to settle.

According to the NY Times, Cassie and Diddy announced the settlement on the evening of Friday (Nov. 17). This comes after the “Official Singer” singer filed on Thursday afternoon in New York under the city’s temporary ‘Adult Survivors Act,’ which is set to expire on Nov. 23.

The 35-page filing accused Diddy of sexually assaulting Cassandra Ventura on several occasions after allegedly coercing her into a relationship. Cassie stated that during their ten-year-plus relationship, Diddy physically abused her with severe beatings witnessed by staff. She also accused him of forcing her to perform sexual acts with male sex workers across state lines while he allegedly watched, made demands, recorded, and self-pleasured.

Cassie And Diddy Release Statements After Settlement

Amid news of settling the lawsuit, Cassie and Diddy released statements via the NY Times.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie told the NY Times in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy told the outlet via statement:

“We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

In an additional statement to The Shade Room, the producer’s lawyer stated the following:

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

It’s unclear how much the former pair settled the lawsuit for.

However, after denying Cassie’s lawsuit allegations, a lawyer for Diddy accused Cassie of wanting a “payday.”

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Diddy’s lawyer Ben Brafman said on Nov. 16. “For the past 6 months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.”

Meanwhile, her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, said that Diddy had previously offered Cassie “eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of” her lawsuit. However, she had “rejected his efforts.”

Parties Reached Settlement Following Trending Videos Of Past Interactions

Hours before the parties reached their settlement, social media users looked closely at past content featuring Diddy and Cassie.

Diddy’s 2022 BET Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech came into focus. Cassie had mentioned the speech in her lawsuit, saying Diddy thanked her for holding him down in “dark times” when he was the one holding her down — in a negative way.

She described the “dark times” as “those she spent trapped by Mr. Combs in a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking,” per the filing.

Another video that came into trending focus early Friday was an excerpt of a red-carpet interview with the entertainers. In 2018, a Vogue reporter asked Cassie at the Met Gala about revealing any confessions. She responded that she keeps “everything” within herself or between her and Diddy.

A video of the “Me & U” singer embracing husband Alex Fine after he reportedly ran 50 miles to support a domestic violence shelter also got viral attention.

Another resurfaced clip that shook the internet was Yung Joc revealing the moment Diddy allegedly demanded Cassie shave her head — leading to the iconic hairstyle that dominated the early 2010s.

After Cassie filed her lawsuit, several fellow entertainers stepped forward to support her allegations, including Kid Cudi. He reportedly confirmed through a spokesperson that his car exploded in his driveway shortly after alleged threats by Diddy — who was allegedly jealous of Cudi’s brief romance with Cassie.

Three out of five Dainty Kane group members, Aubrey O’Day, D. Woods, and Dawn Richard, also showed their public support for Cassie.

  • Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Cassie settle lawsuit one day after she accused him of rape and abuse

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Cassie settle lawsuit one day after she accused him of rape and abuse

    [ad_1]

Sean “Diddy” Combs and R&B singer Cassie reached a settlement Friday in an incendiary lawsuit she filed the day before accusing the mogul and entrepreneur of rape and a “cycle of abuse” during their decade-plus relationship.

No details of the settlement were released, though Combs’ attorney previously accused Cassie of seeking an eight-figure payout in recent months. Combs had denied the allegations through his attorney.

Cassie dated the famed hip-hop producer for about 11 years before they split in 2018. She filed her sex trafficking and sexual assault lawsuit against him in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York just days before the expiration of a “lookback window” that allowed adults who alleged they were sexually abused to sue despite the statute of limitations having run out.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” the singer, who sued under her legal name Casandra Ventura, said in a statement issued through her legal team. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Combs issued a similar statement, saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Ventura’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, said he was “very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so.”

In the lawsuit, the 37-year-old Ventura accused Combs, 54, of raping her in her home after she tried to leave him; physically attacking and injuring her; forcing her to engage in sex acts with male sex workers while filming the encounters; running around with a firearm; introducing her to “a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse”; and requiring her “to procure illicit prescriptions to satisfy his own addictions.”

According to the lawsuit, Ventura met Combs in 2005, when she was 19 and he was 37. After signing her to his label, the suit alleges, Combs took control of her professional and personal life, and began sexual and physically abusing her with increasing frequency.

“He signed her to his label, Bad Boy Records, and within a few years, lured Ms. Ventura into an ostentatious, fast-paced and drug-fueled lifestyle, and into a romantic relationship with him — her boss, one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry, and a vicious, cruel, and controlling man nearly two decades her senior,” the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit detailed bruises Ventura said she suffered as a result of the alleged abuse, as well as accounts of drug use, voyeurism, male sex workers and more.

Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, said in a statement to The Times Thursday that his client “vehemently” denied the “offensive and outrageous allegations” and accused Ventura of being “persistent” in demanding more than $30 million from Diddy for the last six months.

Brafman added that the lawsuit — which also named Combs’ businesses Bad Boy Entertainment and Bad Boy Records among the defendants, as well as Epic Records and Combs Enterprises LLC — was “riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’ reputation and seeking a payday.”

The lawsuit was brought during the one-year window provided by New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which created a one-year “lookback window” during which adults who allege they were sexually abused could sue despite the statute of limitations having run out. Other lawsuits were filed in that state this month against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, music executive Antonio “L.A.” Reid and former Grammys chief Neil Portnow.

    That window expires next week.

Times staff writers Nardine Saad, Emily St. Martin and Stacy Perman contributed to this report.

As previously reported Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a lawsuit against the music mogul on Thursday, which alleges her ex-boyfriend spent years abusing her while she was signed to his record label. After meeting Diddy when she was only 19, the singer claims her then-boyfriend began controlling her through a “lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse” in addition to mental and physical harm.

Following news of this bombshell lawsuit, two other women who were signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records have spoken out in support of Cassie.

Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richard are former members of girl group Danity Kane, which was formed on MTV’s reality TV show Making The Band in 2005. They went on to be signed by Diddy, and though their years as an active group were sporadic, all of the women have experience working with the mogul.

Richard took to X to voice her support for Cassie after news broke, writing: “Praying for Cassie and her family, for peace and healing. You are beautiful and brave.”

O’Day also responded to the news, taking to her Instagram to post a screenshot of the lawsuit headline in her Story and writing, “Been trynna tell y’all for years. Prayers up for this queen @cassie.”

In another upload, she shared a clip from Making The Band, which showed Diddy and O’Day getting into a yelling match before he stood up and questioned why she should be in the group.

She added a caption to the clip that read: “If you think what made the cut was as ugly as it got… you’re wrong.”

Aubrey also shared another photo of Diddy and referenced his song, “Lonely,” writing, “He was right. It gets dark and lonely.”

O’Day previously spoke out against Diddy in December 2022, claiming on an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that she was fired from the label because she “wasn’t willing to do what was expected.”

“Not talent-wise, but in other areas,” she told the host.

“You know, I have such a love-hate [relationship] with it all because I don’t think I would’ve been able to be so successful in so many other areas had I not been trained under Diddy,” Aubrey admitted. “He was the hardest person that you can work for, and it was torture. And not the work part of it, but the other stuff — mind games.”

She also spoke out against Diddy giving artists their publishing rights if they agreed to sign NDAs.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2018, the group said that Diddy would try “power moves” to prove he owned their careers. At the time, Richard said the women would have to walk on eggshells every time they spoke to him.

    [ad_1]

In 2022, Sean Combs received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards. As a new lawsuit filed by Casandra Ventura recounts, he thanked his former girlfriend and Bad Boy Records signee in his acceptance speech. “I have to give a special shoutout, thank you, love, to the people that was really there for me.” He named several people, including Ventura, better known as the R&B singer Cassie, “for holding me down in the dark times, love.”

In the suit, filed on Thursday in Manhattan federal court, Ventura said that she spent these times trapped by Combs in a yearslong cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking. The complaint alleges a disturbing pattern of assault and retaliation that took place for the duration of their relationship beginning when a 37-year old Combs, an established power player in hip-hop, met Ventura as an aspiring 19-year old entertainer in 2005. He signed her to his high-flying label and within a few years, according to the suit, lured her into “an ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled lifestyle, and into a romantic relationship with him her boss, one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry, and a vicious, cruel, and controlling man nearly two decades her senior.”

Ventura claimed in the suit that Combs repeatedly beat her and forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters. According to the suit, Combs described these encounters as “freak offs” designed to fulfill a fantasy he called “voyeurism,” and they often involved drug use that eventually sent Ventura on a path towards addiction. Towards the end of their relationship in 2018, Ventura said in the complaint, Combs forced his way into her home and raped her.

In one of the alleged “freak offs” in 2016, the suit said, Combs punched Ventura in the face and gave her a black eye. When he fell asleep and she tried to leave their Los Angeles hotel room, Ventura claimed, he woke up and followed her into the hallway, where he threw glass vases at her. According to the suit, Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for the footage.

“After years in silence and darkness,” Ventura said in a statement. “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.” She filed the lawsuit under the Adult Survivors Act in New York, enacted last year, which grants alleged victims of sexual abuse a one-year window, ending next week, to file civil complaints in instances where the statute of limitations has passed.

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Combs’s attorney Ben Brafman said in a statement. “For the past 6 months, Mr. Combs, has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’ reputation and seeking a pay day.”

In response to Brafman’s statement, Ventura’s attorney Douglas Wigdor said, “Mr. Comb’s offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit. She rejected his efforts and decided to give a voice to all woman who suffer in silence. Ms. Ventura should be applauded for her bravery.”

In 2011, during a rough patch in Combs and Ventura’s relationship, according to the suit, Ventura briefly dated the rapper Kid Cudi. When Combs returned from a trip, the suit said, he demanded that Ventura participate in a “freak off.” During this encounter, Ventura claimed, he found emails between her and Kid Cudi on her phone and lunged at her with a corkscrew placed between his fingers. Ventura ran away to Kid Cudi’s home, she said, before returning because she felt that she wouldn’t be able to escape Combs and his staff, whom the suit described as his “network of enforcers.” According to the suit, Combs then hit her several times and kicked her in the back.

The following year, the suit said, Combs told Ventura he was going to blow up Kid Cudi’s Car with the rapper and his friends home when it happened. “Around that time,” the suit said, “Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.” (“This is all true,” a spokesperson for Kid Cudi told the New York Times.)

“Mr. Combs asserted complete control over Ms. Ventura’s personal and professional life, thereby ensuring her inability to escape his hold,” the suit said. “He provided unprecedented avenues for success for the aspiring artist, but in return, demanded obedience, loyalty, and silence.”

The producer–full name Sean Combs–was sued in federal court by Cassie on Thursday, according to reports from The New York Times. In her lawsuit, she accuses her ex-boyfriend of rape and repeated physical abuse over approximately a decade.

In the suit, Cassie–full name Casandra Ventura–says that Diddy began a pattern of control and abuse not long after she met him in 2005 when she was just 19 years old. Her accusations included Combs plying her with drugs, beating her, and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes while he filmed their encounters. More than a decade later, in 2018, the suit says Combs forced his way into her home and raped her near the end of their relationship.

“After years in silence and darkness,” Cassie said in a statement, according to the publication. “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

A lawyer for Combs, Ben Brafman, says the music mogul denies all of the allegations being leveraged against him.

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” he began. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

On the contrary, Ventura’s lawyer says her ex was the one to offer money to stop the lawsuit.

“Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit,” laywer Douglas Wigdor said. “She rejected his efforts.”

While naming additional defendants in the suit, the court papers assert that others who worked for Diddy helped him control his then-girlfriend, threatening her with things like suppressing her music if she did not obey his orders.

In an interesting part of the suit, Cassie also alleges that Diddy retaliated against Kid Cudi after learning that they were dating in 2012 and the rapper confirmed the validity of the allegation to The New York Times.

“In one incident described in the court papers, Ms. Ventura says that in early 2012, Mr. Combs grew so angry about her dating the rapper Kid Cudi that he said he would blow up the rapper’s car.

“Around that time,” the suit says, “Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.”

Through a spokeswoman, Kid Cudi confirmed Ms. Ventura’s account.

“This is all true,” he said.

    The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

Diddy Celebrates His VMAs Global Icon Award by Performing With 3 of His Kids

    [ad_1]

Diddy celebrated his legendary career at the 2023 MTV VMAs on Sept. 12 — and he did it with his family by his side. The music icon received the show’s Global Icon Award and hit the stage, marking his first performance at the event since way back in 2005. During his performance, Diddy was joined on stage by his son King Combs, 25, and his twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, 16. The pair danced with their dad during his greatest-hits medley, while King popped up throughout the performance.

Diddy performed classics like “I’ll Be Missing You,” “It’s All About the Benjamins,” “Bad Boy For Life,” “I Need a Girl (Part Two),” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.” Yung Miami also joined him for his track “Gotta Move On,” while Keyshia Cole took the stage to perform “Last Night.”

Mary J. Blige introduced Diddy before he took the stage, and she and his oldest daughter, Chance Combs, presented the mogul with his award afterward. “This is a dream come true for me,” he noted during his acceptance speech. “I grew up watching MTV. I started as a paperboy at 12, and then I was going to be an NFL football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers.” But then Diddy shared that he broke his leg, crushing his dreams, until he got scouted as a dancer and realized he wanted to work in music.

“I want to thank every executive, every producer, every songwriter,” Diddy added in his remarks. “I gotta thank the Bad Boy family because without them, I wouldn’t be up here.”

He urged the audience, “You just gotta keep dreaming. I know sometimes you get hit with those hard things. Like I said, I thought I’d be playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but God made another choice.” Diddy added, “I pray to God y’all get to do something that you love for 30 years consistently.”

Last, he said, “Before we go, in true Diddy fashion, I’m a hustler. I’ve got an album coming out this Friday.” Diddy had Jessie and D’Lila lift up copies of the album, titled “The Love Album: Off the Grid,” his first solo album since 2006.

At the award show, Diddy was also nominated for four other awards. His song “Gotta Move On (Queens Remix)” was nominated for best collaboration and best hip-hop, while Metro Boomin’s song “Creepin’ (Remix),” which he features on, was also nominated for best collaboration and best R&B.

Though only four of Diddy’s kids attended the award show, the hip-hop icon is a proud dad of seven total. His youngest daughter, baby Love, was born in October 2022. Diddy is the third recipient of the MTV Global Icon Award after the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2022 and the Foo Fighters in 2021.

  • Diddy Shares First Picture Of Newborn Daughter In Christmas Family Photo

Diddy Shares First Picture Of Newborn Daughter In Christmas Family Photo

    [ad_1]

Sean “Diddy” Combs shared the first look at his newborn daughter in a heartwarming family photo.

On Sunday, the iconic hip-hop mogul celebrated Christmas by posting photos of his holiday with his kids, including his seventh child, Love Sean Combs.

“Merry Christmas from my family to yours! LOVE,” the New York rapper captioned the photos featuring his kids wearing matching red and green striped pajamas.

The 53-year-old entertainer posed with six of his children — Quincy, 31, King, 24, Chance, 16, and twins D’Lila and Jessie, 16, and newborn Love — for the snapshot. His son Justin, 28, whom he shares with Misa Hylton, was not pictured.

The adorable moment comes just a little more than two weeks after the Grammy winner announced the birth of Love on social media.

“I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world,” he tweeted on Dec. 10 before shouting out his mom and other children. “Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!”

Diddy, who legally changed his name to Sean Love Combs last year, did not share the identity of the baby’s mother though he’s reportedly dating City Girls rapper Yung Miami.

After the announcement, hordes of social media users speculated Yung Miami, whose real name is Caresha Brownlee, was the child’s mother. However, fans quickly pointed out that the 28-year-old did not appear visibly pregnant in any recent social media posts, sparking confusion from spectators.

According to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ earlier this month, Love was born in October to her mother, Dana Tran, a 28-year-old cyber security specialist.

Yung Miami seemingly addressed Diddy’s surprise baby announcement on Twitter two days after his tweet.

“I’M NOBODY SIDE BITCH LETS JUST MAKE THIS CLEAR ON THIS GOOD MONDAY! I don’t come 2nd to no bitch!” she wrote on Dec. 12.

A beautiful newborn isn’t the only thing Diddy has been celebrating. Last week, the Bad Boy boss celebrated his twin daughters’ 16th birthday with a lavish futuristic-themed party and matching Range Rover trucks.

In February last year, Diddy got candid about growing closer to his daughters during the COVID-19 pandemic after their mother and his ex, Kim Porter’s death.

“For me, my life got better because I was running myself into the ground, and I wasn’t taking enough time for my family and for myself. It’s really been a blessing,” he told iconic producer Clive Davis during the virtual Pre-Grammy Gala.

“I lost the mother of my children, and the time that [my kids and I] were sequestered together, it helped me to make up for all those years I was on tour and to get closer to my family,” Diddy continued. “For me, it’s been a blessing, but really using the time to become a better father and a better person.”

Diddy Announces Birth of His Baby Girl, Love Sean Combs

    [ad_1]

Sean “Diddy” Combs welcomed a new member to his family this week.

On Saturday, the 53-year-old rapper shared the happy news of the birth of his daughter on Twitter, “I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world.” He did not reveal the baby’s mother’s identity, but he said, “Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!”

The music mogul is already the proud father to six children with three different women. His eldest son, 31-year-old Quincy Taylor Brown, he adopted when he was in a relationship with Quincy’s late mother, Kim Porter, who died of pneumonia in 2018 at the age of 47. Over the course of Combs and Porter’s on-again, off-again relationship, they would go on to have three more children together, 24-year-old Christian Combs, and 15-year-old twins D’Lila Star and Jessie James Combs. The Grammy winner is also father to 28-year-old Justin Dior Combs, whom he shares with stylist Misa Hilton-Brim, and 16-year-old Chance Combs whose mother is Diddy’s longtime associate Sarah Chapman.

For Thanksgiving, Combs spent the holiday with his three daughters working with The Caring Place at the Miami Rescue Mission to help feed roughly 3,000 people from Miami’s unhoused community. There, they were also joined by the musician’s girlfriend Yung Miami, born Caresha Brownlee

In September, the City Girls rapper explained the nature of their open relationship to XXL, saying, “We are dating. We single, but we’re dating. People don’t know what dating means. He’s single, I’m single, but we’re dating. That’s what I mean when I say we go together. When we’re together, we’re together. We’re having the time of our lives, but we’re still single. I think it just went over people’s heads, you know? People just like to take whatever they wanna take from.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair in August 2021, Combs confessed that his daughters want him to find someone to settle down with full-time, but he feels like Porter was the true love of his life and the one that got away. He explained, “I had to start to deal with it when I lost Kim. ’Cause I was like, man, you had it. I’m not saying I would do any of it differently. God willing—I would have had more time.” He added, “I look at my life as I got a second chance. I’m on my second mountain.”

Part of Diddy’s new lease on life also appears to involve extending his business empire into Silicon Valley, as it was revealed last month that he is one of the investors who helped Elon Musk make that $44 billion purchase of Twitter. According to TMZ , the Sean John designer invested more than $10 million in the social media takeover to have a seat at the table.

Earlier this year, the two entrepreneurs went to a comedy show at the Hollywood Bowl and a listening party for Kanye West’s “Donda 2″ album in Miami.

  • Worst Celebrity Halloween Costumes: Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford? Or Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly?

Worst Celebrity Halloween Costumes: Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford? Or Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly?

    [ad_1]

Halloween: a holiday for spooky-themed debauchery. Its allure can partly be attributed to its unabashed celebration of our inner children. We’re encouraged to be creative. To carve pumpkins, dress up in costume, and revel in our shared silliness. We show off our interests — from our favorite characters and to our favorite memes — with our elaborate get-ups. Even if you opt for a minimal, last-minute, or outright “sexy” outfit — bunny ears or cat ears included — it’s all about the fun.

    Until it isn’t.

Halloween is also a night when people exploit this annual opportunity to dress up and cross a line. Racism reigns as people head to parties in offensive costumes, often including cultural appropriation or even Blackface. With the current alarming rise in public anti-semitism, more than a few Nazi costumes were out this year. And after the success of Netflix’s Dahmer, Jeffery Dahmer costumes are also concerningly abundant. Appalling.

There’s still a long way to go. But in the age of increased awareness, thankfully, we’re seeing less of these costumes in public — or at least on social media. Say what you will about cancel culture, but it makes people think twice before doing something stupid. And for that alone, I am grateful.

This especially applies to celebrities. Hopefully, we’re beyond the days of public apologies for blatantly offensive Halloween attire. But this Halloween, a couple of problematic celebrity costumes fell through the cracks. Now that we’re not distracted by as many celebs in Blackface, I guess we have the opportunity to dissect more nuanced costume faux pas.

    Let’s get into it:

First of all, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly. Hollywood’s most extra couple stepped out as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. After the success of the Hulu adaptation starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan, the pair’s fabled romance has been thrust back into the spotlight.

However, there are many things wrong with the Hulu series. For a show supposedly critical of the exploitation of female sexuality, it sure did a bunch of exploiting. The show allegedly examined the media’s power structures that fosters a sexist culture. Yet, those very same structures ignored Anderson’s perspective on the show.

Pamela Anderson was vocally against the show — not wanting to relive that part of her life. Especially seeing it glamorized on screen as some wacky, edgy adventure. And while Anderson herself has done some problematic Halloween costumes, it’s time to untangle her narrative from the media’s portrayal of it.

As if that weren’t bad enough, this revival again branded Pam and Tommy as just another volatile, rock-n-roll relationship. I’m sure you can see why it attracted Megan and MGK. However, what pop culture seems to have forgotten, is that Tommy Lee was convicted of physical assault against Pamela Anderson.

Like many people, MGK and Megan Fox may not have known about the domestic violence in the relationship. And that’s the problem. Rather than prioritizing Anderson’s voice and story, the culture has chosen to highlight a sensationalized version of events. Seems we didn’t learn much from Free Britney.

Excising their relationship’s abusive ending allows the story to live as a glamorized mythos. Ignoring the abuse while capitalizing on Anderson’s trauma reveals that popular culture still has a long way to go.

But Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox were not the only ones who made us cringe with their carelessly conceived costumes.

New couple Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford had one of the most controversial costumes of the weekend. The two sparked dating rumors a few weeks ago after being repeatedly spotted together.

Given their 11-year age difference, the internet had some thoughts. How old is Billie Eilish? Eilish is 20 — and turns 21 in December. While Rutherford — best known as the lead singer in The Neighborhood — is 32. Not a great look for the ‘Sweater Weather’ singer, who the internet has since been accusing of grooming.

Eilish has spoken about grooming and being taken advantage of by older men early in her career. So fans were surprised about this relationship. Meanwhile, other fans claim that this is the same age gap as Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde — why don’t they get the same hate?

Well, first of all, I’d compare this more to a Leonardo DiCaprio situation. In that instance, Camila Morrone was 21 and free to make the mistake of dating DiCaprio — a relationship that has now, thankfully, ended. But that didn’t make it any less creepy.

Our culture fetishizes younger women, and Eilish has felt this all of her career. So when older men pursue younger women, especially women in their early 20s whose brains literally haven’t fully developed, we’re right to be suspicious. It’s a concerning dynamic. But while we can be critical, it doesn’t help to infantilize Eilish and her decisions.

People gotta to learn the hard way, I guess.

However, the fledgling couple sparked ire this weekend with their Halloween getups. In an attempt to be self-aware about the gossipy conversations about their relationship, they dressed up as a baby and an old man. Gross.

Their exaggeration of the age difference is a pointed jab at the haters. But inadvertently, it’s making light of grooming as a phenomenon. So disappointing as Eilish has been vocal about the industry’s penchant for grooming. And while she’s free to make her own decisions and pursue her own relationships, this costume choice leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Like any concerning Halloween costume, this one ignores the larger social context. Downplaying the concept of grooming is not as funny as the pair thought. For any couple, going as a baby and an old man would be really-really disgusting. For this couple, it’s even more layered.

But luckily for us, this Halloweekend was actually full of great costumes, too.

For celebs, Halloween is an extreme sport. Not only do they have the money and resources to put together the most elaborate costumes — they’re also creatives. If anything, it’s their job to think outside of the box and perform! To entertain! To put on a show! And on Halloween, they deliver.

Now, as social media has upped its game, many celebs take their costume reveals as seriously as their baby reveals. They st up professional photo shoot pictures with extravagant sets with special effects and staging. These are a far cry from my blurry costume photos taken halfway through my nights out.

But I love the extraness! The production value! It’s camp!

So, as a palette cleanser, here are some of the best Halloween costumes from this weekend.

    Chloe Bailey as Lola Bunny

    Kali Uchis as Jessica Rabbit

    Hailey Bieber’s Runway Look

The Riverdale Girls as the Hocus Pocus Witches

  • Jeremy Fall’s Probably Nothing Launches ‘Probably A Label,’ a Web3 Record Label With Warner Records

Jeremy Fall’s Probably Nothing Launches ‘Probably A Label,’ a Web3 Record Label With Warner Records

    [ad_1]

The label sells out 5,555 passes in 7 minutes. First drop from Diddy & JasonMartin exclusively to pass holders.

    Press Release

    Oct 26, 2022

Jeremy Fall, former celebrity restaurateur turned Web3 creator of Probably Nothing, announces the launch of Probably A Label, a Web3 major record label in collaboration with Warner Records.

Probably A Label believes music best comes alive when there’s context people can connect to emotionally. They are creators that help artists rewrite those stories using the power of NFTs and believe Web3 allows artists to create with more freedom and connect with fans on a much deeper level — their mission is to live at the intersection of that culture.

This new type of record label is aimed at redefining IP ownership in the music industry, utilizing Web3 technology. It is the first time that a major label joins forces with a leading NFT culture brand to build an ecosystem that enables artists to create freely using new technologies. Their mission is not to redefine how people listen to music but to elevate the experience in which people consume it, as well as collaborate directly with artists in a manner that helps develop their creative language.

The label launched 5,555 passes that exemplify its vision of what the future of music looks like, which sold out in seven minutes. These debuted on OpenSea, following last week’s announcement of the partnership with Warner Music Group. Their first music drop will be from Grammy Award-winner Diddy and JasonMartin, claimable for Probably A Label holders. While artists will use the Web3 label as a new platform to release music for holders, the community will capitalize on “Studio A,” an incubator that will help community IP come to life. Studio A shines as a key feature where the label partners with select members, accepting pitches for any ideas specific to that project’s IP. If someone owns IP from an approved project and has an idea for a concept around it, Probably A Label can help bring it to life utilizing their resources.

Studio A will begin by accepting pitches using NFTs from approved partner projects, including Azuki, BAYC, Clone X, Cryptopunks, Degen Toonz, Doodles, Photosynthesis, Project Gojira, Pudgy Penguins, Stickmen Toys, Women & Weapons and World of Women, with more partners to be announced soon. Projects accepted into this incubator program will have access to resources from Probably A Label, Probably Nothing, and Warner Records’ ecosystems, including financing, marketing, creative development, partnerships, branding, and PR. Probably A Label sees itself as the bridge between music in Web2 and Web3, which simultaneously evolves the connection between the traditional record label model and music fans.

Other features include the ability to own a community-created NFT project that will serve as the label’s initial virtual musician. This project will be built in conjunction with the community of holders through a voting system on design, storyline, and other creative. More features include exclusive access to the label’s future drops, a community-driven music library for holders’ use, educational content highlighting best IP execution practices, access to in-person and virtual events, merchandise, and more.

“I grew up in the ’90s listening to so many artists on Warner Records. It’s surreal to have it come full circle and help them redefine how people experience music in today’s Web3 era,” said Jeremy Fall, creator of Probably Nothing. “There are a lot of conversations to be had around IP ownership and how to best utilize that IP. What attracted me the most about Warner Records is that they wanted to enter the NFT space the right way by offering full IP rights for Stickmen Toys, which we ended up partnering on.”

The collaboration with Probably Nothing and Warner Records started with Stickmen Toys. Probably Nothing helped Warner Records enter the Web3 space by providing the bridge from Web2 to Web3. Stickmen Toys is a collection of 5,000 unique, audio-visual avatars, giving collectors creative and commercial freedom to push boundaries with their ownership of the copyright.

Sebastian Simone, Vice President of Audience & Strategy at Warner Records, said, “Jeremy and the Probably Nothing team share our vision of evolving the connection between labels, their artists, and fan communities. We’re excited to be partnering with Probably A Label on developing what the future of music ownership looks like, collaborating with our communities on bringing IP to life, and working with artists to enter the Web3 space in a meaningful, authentic way.”
