Nordstrom Just Got So Much New Stock—I’m Freaking Out About These Pieces

    [ad_1]

One of the hazards of being a fashion editor is the constant temptation to add all (and I mean all) the pieces I come across to my virtual cart. Such is the case every time I check the new arrivals section at Nordstrom—My latest perusal was no exception. It is no surprise, though, since Nordy consistently has a great selection of pieces land on their site every week that cater to a variety of personal styles at different price points.

This time around I was excited to find a range of lovely elevated basics including a French-girl worthy ribbed t-shirt, chic linen shorts, classic flats, and the perfect trench coat. I also came across some cool trendy pieces that are guaranteed  conversation starters like a bright matching checkered set, rhinestone boots, baggy jeans, and a sleek corset top. Keep scrolling to check out all thirty-one of my top new Nordstrom picks to round out your wardrobe this season.

  • Everything You Should Know Before Buying Zara Jeans

Everything You Should Know Before Buying Zara Jeans

    [ad_1]

People might disagree with me (especially on TikTok, where edits are constantly made about this topic), but I’m obsessed with Zara‘s product imagery. From the styling to the varying locations and artistic framing, I can’t get enough of it, so much so that I end up buying (and then returning) a great deal of items that I probably wouldn’t have taken an interest in had I gone into a physical store. And of all the pieces I’ve ordered, the ones that most consistently trips me up are jeans

I have a love-hate relationship with Zara jeans. On one hand, the price-to-quality ratio is out of this world, specifically in the case of its non-stretch, 100% cotton offerings. On the other, I’ve been burned by its jeans with elastic that lose their color and shape too quickly, the varying lengths of its denim silhouettes, and confusing sizing. Since you can’t read reviews of the denim on its website, there’s no real way to know how a style will fit or look IRL without actually trying them on. Knowing that, I decided to take one for the team and try on a ton of the brand’s coolest jeans right now and give you the 411.

  • I’m Convinced Everyone Will Be Wearing This “Outdated” Staple This Summer

I’m Convinced Everyone Will Be Wearing This “Outdated” Staple This Summer

    [ad_1]

When I say the words “denim skirt,” your mind probably goes to a classic mini that often features cross-stitching where a pair of jeans would typically split. That description matches the most popular style over the past few years. I can still remember a time when I wouldn’t go more than a few days without wearing my denim mini. The times have changed, and as fashion designers are pushing for longer hemlines, I’m convinced that the sleek maxi aesthetic that ruled the 1990s is going to be the name on everybody’s hips. Fashion people have agreed with them, including the long silhouette in even their casual wardrobes.

This leads to the phenomenon of the longer skirt that I have been seeing all throughout New York City. As temperatures rise, skirt lengths will do the opposite. It’s guaranteed that every It girl will be wearing this come summer. One might call it outdated—having peaked in the early 2000s—but word is out that this staple is back and very much here to stay. With this item being at the top of my list rn, take a look at the below 30 pieces I currently have floating in my shopping cart.

  • The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

    [ad_1]

I am in the midst of updating my closet this season, which just so happens to be filled with a plethora of anti-trend pieces. With my serious dedication to classic style, I can’t help but reach for effortless options each season that can (for the most part) stand the test of time. My goal is always to put together a set of key staples that I know I will wear over and over again. Even so, it feels like it’s time to store, sell, or donate, some old staples to make room for fresh additions.

In most of these cases, I am looking to make the simplest of updates. For instance, I have been a huge fan of the boxy oversize blazer for some time now, but lately, I am craving a more tailored blazer that cinches in right at the waist. In the skirt department, I am taking a break from midi lengths to wear ankle-grazing maxi styles inspired by ’90s throwbacks. Keep scrolling to check out four anti-trend favorites that have served me well and what I am swapping them out for this season.

Fashion Editors and Celebrities Wear These 3 Shoe Trends With Relaxed Jeans

I’m Curvy and Live for Baggy Denim—15 Pairs I Swear By

    [ad_1]

    Photo:

    @indyabrown

As fashion editors tell it, skinny jeans are due for a comeback: Celine is endorsing it, and Giselle Bundchen is wearing them again like its 2003—but the 90s-fixated person in me (because honestly, that was such a time in fashion) won’t let baggy denim go. So bring on the puddle pants—I want to be able to swim in my denim. But as effortless as Bella Hadid or Hailey Bieber make it seem, finding good baggy jeans is much more complicated when you’re not a size 2. I previously documented the complicated journey of buying denim when you have a curvier body, and I’m happy to report that it does get easier when it comes to loose-fitting jeans.

After trying on dozens of pairs (literally) here are some key tips I discovered along the way: wide-leg or styles that are explicitly baggy are always better. Ultimately these silhouettes will always frame and drape the body better than say sizing up on a style that leans more narrow. Following that line of thinking, don’t be afraid to size up! For some of my all-time favorite jeans, I went up two sizes to secure that effortlessly off-duty model look I love so much. Also, keep this sizing advice in mind especially when it comes to rigid denim (the material doesn’t accommodate curves the way some with spandex in them do!). And lastly, don’t be afraid of taking things to the tailor—so many of my stylist friends consistently get their denim tailored to ensure the best fit possible. Now that you know the shortcuts to finding a great pair of jeans, I’ve assembled a list of my current go-to jeans to achieve the cool-girl loose denim look. The good news: most of these don’t require an extra trip to the tailor to get them right, they’re pretty amazing as is. Keep scrolling to see my all of my recommendations.

  • I Tested 7 Pairs of Lightweight Jeans in 90-Degree Heat

I Tested 7 Pairs of Lightweight Jeans in 90-Degree Heat

    [ad_1]

I’m someone who wears jeans almost every day. I’m also someone who lives in the hot and humid South, so wearing denim in the summer months is often a no-go. But a girl can’t live in shorts and dresses alone (at least this girl can’t), so I set out to find lightweight jeans that I can actually get away with wearing in the summer without sacrificing my body temperature.

As luck (or something like that) would have it, an intense heatwave recently appeared and I got to put a stack of lightweight jeans to the test. In choosing the jeans that I would try, I stuck to stretchy styles, most of which were below 11 ounces (denim weights typically run from 5 to 32 ounces). For the sake of variety, some of the styles were slim-fitting while others were wide-leg, but all of them were reflective of current denim trends and were created by some of the coolest denim brands on the market.

Keep reading to find out how I fared in my search for the best lightweight jeans to wear as the temperatures climb this summer and shop them for yourself.

The Reviews Don’t Lie: These Sculpting Jeans Will Make Your Butt Look Great

    [ad_1]

There’s nothing like putting on a pair of amazing jeans that instantly transforms your look and boosts your confidence. But we know all too well that with so many styles, fits, and fabrics out there, finding the perfect pair of jeans that flatters your figure, contours your assets, and fits like a glove is not always an easy feat. Taking a few features into account can help when shopping for your body type and fit preference. Two style details to consider are the position of the back pockets and the design of the yoke. (The yoke is the V-shaped section at the back of the jeans that gives denim a curved seat. Typically, the deeper the V, the more shapelier your bum will look.)

Luckily, when it comes to finding the butt-lifting jeans of your dreams, we’ve done some of the hard work for you. We looked at the top reviews and positive feedback of sculpting jeans from a plethora of retailers to bring you the 24 best out there. • Hailey Bieber Wore the World’s Most Classic Pair of Jeans in a Very 2023 Way

Hailey Bieber Wore the World’s Most Classic Pair of Jeans in a Very 2023 Way

    [ad_1]

As much as I love trying out new denim brands, there’s only one that I’m truly loyal to: Levi’s. Original, I know. But there’s a reason why the more than 150-year-old denim brand is still beloved by so many. Simply put, the jeans it produces have a better fit, are made of better materials, and age better than any of the ones its competitors make—period—especially when it comes to its OG pair, the 501s. While you shouldn’t really need more proof of their superiority if you ask me, I’ll give it to you anyways.

Hailey Bieber, who’s probably tried every single pair of elite jeans on the market, always seems to come back to her 501s. This latest time, she wore a vintage pair from Orlee Weisberg’s L.A.-based vintage denim brand Denim by Orlee, which are purposely oversize and therefore sit low on Bieber’s waist. She paired the jeans with a blue-and-white striped Loewe polo worn tucked in, a Previously Known leather bomber jacket, and Bottega Veneta Westerncore mules. It’s a combination that feels extremely 2023 despite her jeans being originally designed way back in the 1800s. Further adding to its modern aesthetic, she wore arguably this year’s most popular sunglasses, Saint Laurent’s SL 557 Shade, and Miu Miu’s Wander Matelassé bag, a style the Italian brand re-creates season after season.

I’m a Former Nordstrom Stylist—These 6 Denim Brands Are the Best

    [ad_1]

In a past life, before I was an assistant editor at Who What Wear, I worked as a stylist for Nordstrom. I loved everything about being a stylist. I got to play with clothes all day and help people feel more confident about their personal styles. One of the things most people want to know is what denim brand works for me. As an avid jeans wearer, I love a good pair of jeans and have tried almost every brand you can think of.

Not only have I tried several denim brands, but I have also recommended them to clients, friends, and now to you. Nordstrom is my absolute go-to when looking for all things denim. It carries all of my favorite brands plus offers free basic alterations on Nordstrom-purchased clothing, so if I need a quick hem, it’s no big deal. When shopping for jeans, there are three things that are important to me: wash, cut, and fit. I need jeans that not only look luxe but feel it as well and are super flattering. Of course, I’d never brag about all the great denim brands Nordstrom has to offer without letting you in on my favorites.

  • I Tried On 19 Pairs of Black Skinny Jeans—These 7 Are the Best

I Tried On 19 Pairs of Black Skinny Jeans—These 7 Are the Best

    [ad_1]

They may not be the most exciting thing in a closet, but a good pair of black skinny jeans is a wardrobe essential that I can’t imagine life without. This was made much more apparent to me recently when I got rid of my trusted pair of black skinnies that I’d worn for years and were definitely past their prime. Only once this key piece was missing from my closet did I realize just how important it was that I invest in a new pair. (You really don’t know a good thing until it’s gone, amirite?) I have L.A. style, after all, so I wear jeans pretty much every day, and a black, skinny option was very noticeably absent after only a few weeks.

So I set out on the most daunting quest of them all: denim shopping. Nothing gives me a headache quite like the glare of fluorescent dressing-room lighting, but I wanted to make sure I weighed all my options before deciding on a new pair. Since virtually every brand under the sun makes a basic black skinny, I had many options to choose from. To save all of you the same headache (and unflattering lighting), I’m here to share my tips on how to find the best black skinny jeans. I tried on a total of 19 pairs between in-store and online orders, but there were only seven true winners that I would feel 100% confident replacing my old pair with. The brands I didn’t like shall remain nameless, but the ones I did are going to get a huge shout-out momentarily. Below, my seven holy-grail pairs and why I feel so strongly about them. Plus, some poorly lit fitting-room selfies for your entertainment.

Found: The 26 Best Tummy-Control Jeans to Buy Now

    [ad_1]

There are several things to look out for when purchasing a new pair of jeans. Are they comfortable? That’s very important. Do they have a versatile wash? Another deal-breaker. And how about the price tag? Though jeans can get very expensive—and fast—sometimes, they’re worth the splurge, especially when you know you’ll be wearing them nonstop. However, there’s one other possible design element in the bottoms that you may not have thought about, but once you try it out, you’ll never go back. I’m talking about tummy-control jeans that are seriously game-changing.

Tummy-control jeans are exactly what the name suggests. They’re designed with built-in panels at the waistline that control from within, if that’s of interest. Ahead, I rounded up the best tummy-control jeans on the market.

The Reviews Don’t Lie—These 29 Nordstrom Jeans Are Best, Period.

    [ad_1]

I have a love-hate relationship with jeans. On one hand, they’re my favorite thing to wear. On the other, they can be extremely difficult to shop for. Everyone has a denim horror story, jumping up and down in the fitting room struggling to make a pair you so desperately wanted to work fit your body. While I’ve had my fair share of traumatic middle school fitting room experiences with low-rise jeans, I’ve come to figure out a personal life hack when it comes to shopping for denim. All you have to do is read the reviews.

Although no one knows your style and body better than you do, shoppers around the world more than likely have the same concerns when it comes to jeans. Is the wash unflattering? Are they too long? Will they uncomfortably pinch your waist? While you can’t exactly know how jeans will fit them until you try it on, you can get a head start on figuring out which pairs are better than others by reading what other people think of them. That’s where Nordstrom comes in.

Nordstrom’s no-frills rating and reviewing system is a lifesaver when it comes to finding jeans. After combing through reviews to find a pair myself for an upcoming trip I’m taking, I knew I had to share my full-proof system for finding the best jeans. From low-cost, high-joy pairs to denim that has hundreds of glowing reviews, these 29 pairs passed my personal test. Scroll through to discover the highest ranked jeans on Nordstrom.

Suki Waterhouse Just Mastered the Pantsless Trend In a Pair Of Denim Underwear

    [ad_1]

If anyone can pull off the tights-as-pants look that’s been popping up everywhere in 2023, it’s Suki Waterhouse—and she knows it. I presume that’s why she decided to make the trend even more risqué than going pantsless naturally is by trading in the minimal briefs that’ve gone hand in hand with the trend ever since it first went viral following Bottega Veneta’s spring/summer ’23 runway show last September for a denim version. Might I add that she donned the micro jorts to do press on the top of the Empire State Building (casual).

The New York City occasion was all about Waterhouse’s new Prime Video show Daisy Jones & The Six, which she stars in alongside Riley Keough, Camila Morrone, and Sam Claflin. Waterhouse plays keyboardist Karen Sirko in the series, so naturally, she had to look the part of a musician in the ’70s but with a modern touch. As such, she chose the first look from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini’s fall/winter 2022 collection—a cropped blazer, exposed bra, silk blouse, and denim hot shorts—adding ripped tights, Gucci pumps, and an oversize furry jacket for effect.

Though the denim underwear in her look isn’t for the faint of heart, the overall ensemble is easier to achieve than it might initially appear. Below, shop our favorite denim short shorts of the season and check off the first step in recreating Waterhouse’s hyper cool take on the no-pants trend.
