  • The 25 Best Pop Songs Of 2025: Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, & More!

    [ad_1]

2025 was truly the best year in pop music we’ve had in a while! It seems like artists are simply locking back into what makes a true pop song and mastering that art. Narrowing this list down to simply 25 songs was quite the challenge, but we think this list is the best of the best throughout all facets of pop music! From Olivia Dean and Chappell Roan to Greyson Chance and so many more, let’s jump in!

Taylor Swift – ‘The Fate of Ophelia’

There is no way to talk about the great pop resurgence of 2025 without highlighting The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift. For us, the entire album is full of examples of a true-to-form pop song, but we had to choose to highlight ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ due to it being inescapable since its release. This song is pure ear candy, and will get stuck in your head for hours even after just hearing a few seconds.

Olivia Dean – ‘Man I Need’

Olivia Dean is taking the pop music world by storm with ‘Man I Need,’ and to us that makes perfect sense. In anyone else’s discography, ‘Man I Need’ would be an easy career highlight, and yet, it’s one of many songs on Olivia’s most recent album, The Art of Loving, that blew us away upon the first listen and could have easily taken this spot.

    Sabrina Carpenter – ‘House Tour’

Man’s Best Friend is stacked top to bottom with pop gold, but after listening back through the album, ‘House Tour’ had to be our choice! Everything from that infectious chorus to the “my house is on pretty girl avenue” line made this one of those songs that will soundtrack nights out for us through the foreseeable future.

Jonas Brothers – ‘Love Me To Heaven’

The Jonas Brothers have been experts at the pop music game since Nick first uttered the words ‘red dress’ back in 2008, so it’s no surprise to us that they are only getting better and better 17 years later. Their newest record, Greetings From Your Hometown, had an obvious stand-out to us the first time we listened, and that was ‘Love Me To Heaven.’

    Audrey Hobert – ‘Phoebe’

Who’s The Clown? by Audrey Hobert was truly on an endless loop here at THP! Upon first listen, it was automatically clear that we were witnessing the artistic birth of someone who had a crystal clear understanding of how to bring themselves through in the music, be specific while staying relatable, and develop a sound that was particularly hers. We could have easily put any song from the album here, but ‘Phoebe’ is a forever favorite of ours!

Greyson Chance – ‘Waiting Outside The Lines ‘25’

No, we are not trying to transport you back to 2011, but there is so much beauty in taking a certified nostalgia-packed hit and reimagining it with years of life lived and heightened vocal ability to back it up. We can’t help but have a permanent smile on our face listening to this track and diving into Greyson’s current catalog (which everyone should do themselves the favor of doing)!

    Jensen McRae – ‘Novelty’

If you asked us what album impacted us the most this year, one of the easiest answers would be I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! Anyone who has dived into Jensen’s discography knows what a savant she is. Her relationship to her pen is one of one, and this album may be the best example of that in her discography so far. ‘Novelty’ is the song that immediately jumps out at us as a must-listen.

Lady Gaga – ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’

Lady Gaga is synonymous with pop music at this point. She has always had the skill on lock, and in many ways, has influenced so much of what the modern genre looks like. MAYHEM was a true return to form for Lady Gaga, and showed that her knowledge and talent with the pop music world has never faltered. ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’ is an instant smash and is still on repeat.

5 Seconds of Summer – ‘NOT OK’

We will forever preach our love for 5 Seconds of Summer and how they get better with every release! (If you didn’t know, this band is literally why THP exists!) EVERYONE’S A STAR came out just over a month ago and is the band’s most ambitious, larger-than-life project yet. But of course, every element was nailed perfectly. Each of the guys has so many standout moments, but there are even more moments when it is so clear why they continue to make music together: everything flows seamlessly.

Sadie Jean – ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’

Sadie Jean is the exact singer-songwriter your playlist is in need of, and we had to highlight a track off her debut album, Early Twenties Torture! Every song on this record feels like Sadie had a insider’s look at our deepest thoughts and struggles, was able to turn them poetic, and then put them to music. That skill of relatability is rare. ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’ is our favorite example of that peek inside our minds.

    Laufey – ‘Lover Girl’

Laufey has seamlessly blended the worlds of pop and jazz music and made a fusion that leaves us regularly at a loss for words. A Matter of Time is Laufey’s most recent album. And upon our first listen, it was clear that this is a generational album, one of those records where anyone who gives it a chance will fall in love with it. ‘Lover Girl’ is our favorite song off the record, so we had to highlight it!

Amber Mark – ‘Let Me Love You’

Amber Mark is the pop star you’ve been looking to add to your playlists! If you’re a fan of artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Dean, Amber’s album, Pretty Idea, and specifically our favorite track, ‘Let Me Love You,’ is going to be right up your alley! We are predicting that 2026 is going to be a huge year for Amber! And with music of this quality, it makes complete sense!

    Justin Bieber – ‘Yukon’

‘Yukon’ was one of our most-streamed songs of the year; it’s that serious to us! SWAG, for us, felt like Justin coming back into his own, making the music that feels true to form. With ‘Yukon,’ that infectious chorus we’ve come to know and love from Justin Bieber is the shining star, which definitely adds to why we are constantly playing this track on a loop.

    Lydia Night – ‘The Bomb’

You may know Lydia Night from her time with the band The Regrettes, but trust us when we say she has turned into a full-blown solo pop star. Lydia released her debut album, Parody of Pleasure, back in August, and all thirteen songs are expertly crafted! ‘The Bomb’ has been a standout since we first dove into this album. The song is playful and reminiscent of early 2000s pop.

Role Model – ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’

Obviously, ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ has taken the world by storm this year, so there was no way we weren’t going to give Role Model his flowers. We haven’t heard a chorus quite as infectious as ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ in quite a long time. It’s impossible not be in an instant good mood when it hits.

Myles Smith – ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’

If you were as obsessed with Myles Smith’s ‘Stargazing’ as we were, then ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’ is the perfect addition to your playlists! Myles is someone who you continue to find new things about his artistry to dig into with each listen.

Zara Larsson is a pop star in the truest sense of the word. Her entire album, Midnight Sun, is a pop masterclass, in which she’s the only person equipped to teach. When we first heard the title track ‘Midnight Sun,’ we knew that this was a whole new ball game in terms of pop music, and that we would take every opportunity to praise what Zara is doing with her artistry.

    HAIM – ‘Relationships’

This song is pure ear candy and truly a discography highlight from one of our favorite trios! The chorus has serotonin woven into every line and lyric. And it makes us want to be out at night in the city with friends, dancing to every word. Their most recent album, i quit, is chock-full of tracks where you will see these themes.

    Conan Gray – ‘Vodka Cranberry’

Conan Gray was born to make the exact music he’s making right now. He releases such infectious pop tracks with lyrics that both feel true to self for Conan and still connect deeply with his audience. ‘Vodka Cranberry’ blew up this year, and to us, it only makes perfect sense. This is a solidified hit.

    Tate McRae – ‘Sports Car’

If you didn’t know, Tate McRae is a name that we have been screaming from the rooftops since we got to interview her years ago (which you can read here!). Tate blends musicality with dance seamlessly to draw people into who she is as a musician. ‘Sports Car’ and its visual components showcase exactly why Tate has quickly become a household name.

Avery Cochrane – ‘Shapeshifting On A Saturday Night’

Hailing from Seattle, Avery Cohrane is bound to be the name you can’t escape this next year in pop music! This year, she released her track, ‘Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,’ and blew us away with the established pop sound she was crafting. If you’re a fan of artists like Chappell Roan or Olivia Rodrigo, we think you will love Avery!

    Addison Rae – ‘Headphones On’

It’s no secret that Addison Rae has had a massive year. From the success of ‘Diet Pepsi’ and her tour to her debut album, Addison, everything about her career so far has been the beginning of a pop star who will be talked about and celebrated for years to come. For Addison, pop is a true work of performance art, following in the footsteps of the likes of Britney Spears. ‘Headphones On’ off her debut album summarizes everything we love most about Addison as an artist.

Reneé Rapp – ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone’

We yell the chorus to ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Goneat truly astronomical levels. Everything about this track resonates with us. Something that Reneé Rapp never fails to do is draw the listener in and weave her story in a way that feels relatable to others. On top of the lyrical content of the song, Reneé’s vocals are otherworldly here.

    Demi Lovato – ‘Joshua Tree’

The 2025 version of Demi Lovato is the only artist who could craft an album like It’s Not That Deep. This record is a amalgamation of someone who has gone through it all. Someone who has experienced hardships and heartache and is in the complete opposite space now. And a lot of it is backtracked with songs you want to be in the club dancing to. That’s the duality of pop and of Demi, and it’s beautiful. To us, ‘Joshua Tree’ best represents the album as a whole.

    Chappell Roan – ‘The Subway’

Ending our best 2025 pop songs with one that is still inescapable like ‘The Subway’ only felt right. Chappell Roan is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. She creates with such intention and really takes her time with each project, which comes through in the music. ‘The Subway’ will be looked at years from now as one of the great songs of the decade.

Check out more of our end of year coverage here!

We would love to hear from you! What is your favorite pop song of 2025? Is it something off the new Taylor Swift album? Maybe a Conan Gray song? Or an Olivia Dean song? Let us know by commenting below or by tweeting @TheHoneyPOP! We are also on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

  • The Spookiest and Silliest Celebrity Halloween Costumes This Year

    [ad_1]

Paris Hilton as Tinkerbell on Halloween night.
    Photo: Rachpoot/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images

Halloween is the Met Gala if the theme was “You can go full throttle, and it doesn’t matter if you’re hot or not.” The best costumes don’t have to lean into being sexy. Sure, it’s a nice touch, but the looks that have people talking are funny, creative, and look as though you’ve spent weeks thinking about who you’re going to be. For celebrities, it’s no different — except you might have a whole team prepping months in advance for the big night. Some people might go as classic costumes, like Beetlejuice, or as a pop star like Britney Spears. Others might take the opportunity to be super meta and require a quick Google search to figure out what their costume is. Either way, Halloweekend has begun. Below, the best costumes from Sabrina Carpenter, Heidi Klum, Demi Lovato, Janelle Monáe, and more celebs.

Barbie’s dream house is on Pretty Girl Ave. Carpenter had multiple costumes for her Short ‘n’ Spooky concert, including Fred Flintstone and Wonder Woman. Carpenter even had a special guest…

Don’t worry, Ghost Face has been arrested!

Photo: Mike Coppola/Getty Images for Heidi Klum Hall

We warned you! Klum turned her husband Tom Kaulitz into stone but we get it; it’s hard to keep your eyes off of her.

    Photo: Rachpoot/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images

For his night out, Bloom dressed as a spooky scary skeleton.

Ok, this is really cute. Trudeau paid tribute to his relationship with Katy Perry by dressing as the left shark.

Nicole made her Halloween costume a music video, lip-singing to Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

Photo: Noam Galai/Getty Images for Heidi Klum Hall

Somebody once told me Criss would dress up as Shrek but we didn’t believe them. Now we know.

Photo: Noam Galai/Getty Images for Heidi Klum Hall

Klum’s Halloween party quickly transformed into Pandora when Love Island USA winner Amaya Papaya walked in.

Photo: Noam Galai/Getty Images for Heidi Klum Hall

EJAE could’ve easily gone as Rumi but chose a fuzzier costume. It’s night and it gets cold! Derpy Tiger is perfect for sneaking candy in.

Photo: Noam Galai/Getty Images for Heidi Klum Hall

Hernandez, alongside his girlfriend Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral, transformed into the Addams family. I wonder what his mom and aunt think about their outfits.

Troye’s so cheeky, he’s like hee-hee. I’m like ha-ha-ha. No really, this made me laugh.

The View may be eschewing costumes on Halloween, but the Jenna & Friends hour of Today went all out. Savannah Guthrie was Miranda Priestly, accompanied by Matt Rogers as the Tooch. And Jenna Bush Hager was Priestly’s irl inspo, Anna Wintour.

The former SURver participated in virality in a couple different ways: dressing as a plague victim, and doing the “What’s Up?/Beez in the Trap” TikTok trend. Joining her in the video were hubby Beau and Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney.

He’s in love with the shape of Boo. Ed Sheeran did a full transformation into the Skarsgård incarnation of Pennywise. Welcome to Derry spon?

    @tanamongeaulol

@Chili’s Grill & Bar i want to ask you nicely. if this doesn’t bring us a chili’s brand deal, this is it. i’m done. i love you, please don’t make this the final cheese pull. @trishapaytas 🧀 ❤️

Great minds think alike. Paytas, Mongeau, and Lizzo all embodied an epic cheese pull for Halloween this year. Trish and Tan did a couples’ costume, while Lizzo was a snack all by herself.

    Photo: Santiago Felipe/Getty Images

Chicken Shop Date creator Amelia Dimoldenberg attended Julio Torres’s “The Cursed Amulet” party dressed as Jim Hopper (David Harbour) from Stranger Things on October 30. She also held up a phone displaying a song by Harbour’s ex-wife, Lily Allen, who just released the album West End Girl, on which she implies that their marriage broke down because he cheated on her. On “Pussy Palace,” the song Dimoldenberg’s listening to, Allen wonders, “Am I looking at a sex addict?”

    Photo: Santiago Felipe/Getty Images

Julia Fox, who judged the costume contest at Torres’s party, came dressed as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis after her husband, John F. Kennedy, was shot next to her. “Tonight, I’m serving bloody diva, single mom who’s about to cash that check,” she said on the carpet.

    Photo: Santiago Felipe/Getty Images

Comedian and party host Julio Torres was a burning windmill. The entire windmill is technically a wig, built out of hair, and the blades actually rotated with the use of a disco-ball motor.

Noted anime fan Megan Thee Stallion chose to portray “Hot Girl Choso” from Jujutsu Kaisen. On the show, Choso is a Death Painting Womb who is half-human and half–cursed spirit. He wears a loose robe and a scarf, which Meg hot girl–ified with a little midriff action.

TikTok star and & Juliet alum Charli D’Amelio went as Cher, specifically in Harry Langdon’s iconic photo shoot for her album Prisoner. She posted two more photo shoots dressed as Cher. Somebody get her on Drag Race, where she can really shine.

Niecy Nash and her wife, Jessica Betts, went as two components of this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. Betts is Kendrick Lamar grinning at the camera as he said “Hey, Drake!” while Nash embodies Drake’s ex Serena Williams.

Poot Lovato, Demi’s long-lost twin sister, is making her Halloween debut; she’s finally set free! Lovato poked fun at herself, dressing as a meme from 2014. Long story short: Someone Photoshopped an unflattering photo of Lovato, and fans named her Poot, her twin who was “locked in a basement her whole life.” Lovato finally accepted the meme after realizing someone had Photoshopped her years later in 2023. Poot lives!

Monáe started off the season as a carnival barker. What? You didn’t think she was going to do only one costume, right? You’re not celebrating Halloween if you’re not watching the spookiest movies — BeetlejuiceHocus Pocus, and, obviously, The Craft, which became Monáe’s second costume of the season before transforming into something especially scary.

The Cat in the Hat takes the cake for the creepiest Jennifer Hudson Spirit Tunnel ever. Thankfully, her other costumes weren’t as creepy but were still fun, like Lady Vampira and Beetlejuice — wait, we’ve said it three times, haven’t we?

Oops, she did it again: multiple costumes! You can’t expect anything less from an heiress. Hilton and her family dressed as the Toy Story crew and the Peter Pan Darlings, and for a solo look, she was the original Material Girl and Tinkerbell.

Kardashian picked the ultimate “If you know, you know” costume, dressing as TikToker Jay Guapõ to show other parents she knows what her kids are watching online. It wasn’t the only online costume from the Kardashians; North West also dressed as Kai Cenat with her friends. The kids love the computer!

After looking speechless when asked what their favorite Mariah Carey music-video look was, Katseye made a comeback by dressing as their answers. And the queen herself approves: “My daughter loves them, hello!”

Halloween is a good time to try a new look, and maybe the Ride podcast hosts and the Overcompensating stars are trying everything à la Shakira. Perhaps this will unlock their fursona within — or become nightmare fuel. Either way, perfect subway outfits.

Back in the ‘70s, Las Vegas was about as unhip as things could get.  Well, that is, unless you went all Hunter Thompson, driving into town with a head full of acid in a Cadillac land yacht with the idea of causing as much confusion and destruction as possible.

By the early part of Richard Nixon’s second term, the glory days of the Rat Pack were long gone, and Las Vegas had lost any sense of “ring-a-ding-ding.”  No, fifty some-odd years ago, Las Vegas was a place that catered to bourgeois conventioneers and tourists.  Folks who were thrilled to see acts like Wayne “Mr. Las Vegas” Newton, Liberace, Neil Diamond, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Donny and Marie Osmond, Barry Manilow and Paul Anka.  Not to mention Sigfried and Roy, in their salad days before the latter became an hors d’oeuvre.

But these days, we seem to be experiencing a similar paradigm, i.e. Las Vegas being populated by relatively well-heeled sixty-ish and seventy-ish vacationers who are willing to shell out big bucks to see the big bands of yesteryear.  Recently announced acts booked for Vegas residencies in 2026 include the Eagles, Styx, Santana, Def Leppard, Foreigner and Chicago.

It was bound to happen, but somehow it seems sad to see the wild-ass hell raisers of our (well, at least my) youth playing in such safe and conventional venues.  I am reminded of Joan Cusack’s line from the film Grosse Pointe Blank.  When asked what it was like attending her high school reunion, she answered, “It was just as if everyone had swelled.”  Indeed.

    Ticket Alert

A passel of shows at Toyota Center has just been announced.  On Saturday, April 4, it’s ‘80s hitmakers New Edition headlining a bill that includes Boys II Men and Toni Braxton.  Meet and greet / photo opportunity packages are on sale now along with various presales, and the general sale is set for Friday.  Demi Lovato’s “It’s Not That Deep” tour – her first in three years – rolls into Houston on Monday, May 25.  Curiously, no presales are listed, but you can get to clicking Friday morning at 10 a.m.

Florence + The Machine (Really?  We can’t just say “and”?) is booked at Toyota Center on Tuesday, May 5, as part of the band’s “Everybody Scream” tour in support of the album of the same name, which drops on Friday.  Tickets go on sale next Wednesday, November 5.  The “R&B Lovers” tour, which boasts a lineup including Keith Sweat, Joe, Dru Hill and Ginuwine, will be at Toyota Center on Saturday, June 6, and tickets are on sale this Friday.

As for other venues in town, the White Oak Music Hall will host Echo and the Bunnymen on Wednesday, May 27.  The lads from Liverpool have gone through a bunch of band members since the group’s formation in 1978, and these days it’s only original members Will Sergeant and Ian McCulloch leading the charge, backed by various touring musicians.  Tickets for the Houston installment of the “More Songs to Learn and Sing” tour are on sale as we speak.

In recent years, appearance on a talent-based reality show has become a pathway to stardom.  In the case of Canadian performer Tate McRae, it was “So You Think You Can Dance” (produced by the same folks as “American Idol”) that pushed her into the popular consciousness in 2016.  McRae embarked on a singing career soon after, releasing a number of singles and a couple of EP’s, followed by three albums.  Her most recent effort, So Close to What, reached No. 1 in the U.S. and in several other countries around the world.  You can see what all the fuss is about on Saturday at Toyota Center.

Lainey Wilson canceled her scheduled appearance at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion last month, citing the recommendation of her vocal coach.  Evidently, all is now well with the country chanteuse’s vocal cords, and the postponed show will commence on Saturday.

    YouTube video

Fans of a certain age and a certain bent will be excited to know that the B-52s (no apostrophe, dammit!)  and Devo will co-headline a show on Sunday at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.  The billing makes perfect sense, in that both bands emerged and about the same time (around 1980) with material that was nothing like anything else on the radio.  Lene Lovich, who was also freaking people out around then, will open.

    YouTube video

It would seem that Leon Thomas’ “Mutts Don’t Heel” tour is selling well, since the R&B artist’s gig scheduled for Tuesday at the House of Blues has been moved to the Bayou Music Center.  All tickets for the House of Blues show will be honored at the new venue.  ‘Cause Knowledge is Power: Thomas began his performing career on Broadway, appearing in “The Lion King” and “The Color Purple.”

Drugs, alcohol, and fame have long been intertwined in Hollywood’s industry. The constant pressure to perform, maintain a public image, and navigate global scrutiny often drives stars toward self-destructive habits, which are often disguised as a form of relief. For decades, the entertainment industry has glamorized excess, but the reality behind the scenes is far more sobering. They also further emphasize that recovery and self-control can coexist with success. • We’re ‘Here All Night’ For Demi Lovato’s New Era

    [ad_1]

2025 is the year for nostalgia. All our favorite artists, who we grew up with, are taking this year by storm and pulling out our nostalgic heartstrings one new single at a time. The Jonas Brothers released a new album and are on tour, Jesse McCartney is making new music, Cody Simpson is planning a big comeback, Hilary Duff has confirmed a new era is on the way, and now, Demi Lovato is dropping hits like it’s her full-time job (well, it is, thankfully).

Demi Lovato is breaking back into music and making everyone well aware. She’s probably had the best single releases of the year, and luckily for us, she’s only getting started. We never left the Demi train, but now we’re fully conducting this thing!

Image Source: Courtesy of Island Records

    ‘Here All Night’

Nothing can make us fold as quickly as an intoxicating dance beat, some stellar choreography, and some Demi powerhouse vocals. Demi’s latest single, ‘Here All Night,’ has those three things locked in. This song takes us on a whirlwind of a story – someone has just gotten broken up with and they’re trying not to think about this person all night long. Hitting up the clubs, flirting with the DJ, and dancing until the early morning hours is all but a simple fix for heartbreak. We’ve certainly all been there!

‘Here All Night’ was released alongside a truly amazing music video – something Demi is known for always delivering on! We have to applaud Demi on devouring this choreography and looking absolutely stunning while doing it. Did we ever doubt her? No.

    ‘Fast’

One single is simply not enough. We’ve also been loving Demi’s ‘Fast,’ which proves to be somewhat of a sister song to ‘Here All Night.’ Listening to these two pop songs back to back was an ethereal experience that we encourage all our honeybees to take part in. We want to hear ‘Fast’ at 2 AM in the club, and then ‘Here All Night’ immediately afterwards, walking back to our Ubers! That’s definitely the vibes we’re on for the rest of 2025.

While the visuals for ‘Here All Night’ take place inside Demi’s apartment, the visuals for ‘Fast’ happen on the streets below. It’s all chaos with Demi, the calm of the storm, in the middle, strutting down the street looking like the true star that she is.

    It’s Not That Deep

Of course, releasing two singles is a slight hint at something bigger coming soon. Demi Lovato’s ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, drops on October 24, 2025. Fans were so surprised at this announcement and immediately took to the internet to gush over the album artwork and their praise for their long-time favorite singer.

“This music is a perfect reflection of where I’m at today. I had such an incredible time making this album with Zhone and it was such a freeing experience to let loose and have fun with it. With my past eras, I often wrote cathartic music about heavy topics that I needed to process. When I got back in the studio this time around, those songs just weren’t resonating anymore because I’m not in that place in life. I’m happy, I’m in love, and I just want to enjoy life and have fun. I realized it’s not that deep anymore, and that became the ethos for this album. It’s Not That Deep is meant for late nights and dancefloors, and I can’t wait for you all to dance with me.”

Demi stated in a press release

You can pre-save It’s Not That Deep here and get excited about Demi’s new music with us down in the comments or over on FacebookInstagram, and TikTok. Let us know which single track, ‘Fast’ or ‘Here All Night,’ was your favorite! Can we claim both!?

  • Here’s The Official Cast For Disney Channel’s Camp Rock 3

    [ad_1]

Disney Channel and Disney+ are back, once again, to pull on our nostalgic heartstrings. They’ve hit us with the biggest news of the year – Camp Rock 3 is officially greenlit. Disney announced the full cast today, featuring both new and familiar faces. Our favorite childhood stars are returning, and we could not be more excited. “It’s on, it’s on, it’s on!

“The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”

Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said in a press release

    The Returning Stars

    Demi Lovato

Yes, it’s officially been announced that Demi Lovato will reprise their role of Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock 3! We’re so glad Demi is back for the third rendition of the iconic Disney Channel movie franchise. Right on the heels of their new album, It’s Not That Deep, Demi is destined for greatness the rest of the year and into 2026. We’ll always be here supporting Demi!

    Maria Canals-Barrera

Momma Connie Torres is back! The Camp Rock franchise certainly isn’t complete without Disney legend Maria Canals-Barrera. You know and love her as the Russo-family matriarch in Wizards of Waverly Place, but we have a special place for her character Connie in our hearts as well. Will she still be the camp chef? Or will she take on a new title in Camp Rock 3?

    Kevin Jonas

Any Camp Rocker knows that Kevin was the comedic relief and one of the best characters in the original Camp Rock movies. He’ll be reprising his role of Jason Gray, the junior Camp Rockers’ favorite camp counselor. Maybe we’ll finally get a solo Kevin Jonas moment?

    Nick Jonas

If you had a crush on Nate Gray in 2008, welcome to the club. We may have read one too many fan fictions about meeting our favorite singer, aka Nick Jonas, at a summer camp and falling deeply in love over playing guitar and “a homemade quesadilla.” All that to say, Nick Jonas is returning to Camp Rock 3!

    Joe Jonas

Obviously, if his brothers Kevin and Nick are returning, Joe Jonas has to be back, too. We couldn’t leave mega superstar Shane Gray out of the picture….let’s just hope their tour bus doesn’t fall over a cliff and into a lake again. We wonder what type of classic Disney Channel shenanigans the Gray brothers will get up to in this new movie?

“‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day. Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”

Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, stated in a press release

    The New Faces

    Malachi Barton

Enter camp bad boy Fletch. You may know the name Malachi Barton from Disney+’s Zombies 4: Dawn Of The Vampires and Stuck In The Middle. Barton is a Disney Channel vet and will be a new camper at Camp Rock this summer.

    Brooklynn Pitts

You may know Brooklynn from the 2023 TV show Chicken Girls, but if not, you’ll fall right in love with her character in Camp Rock 3. Pitts’ character, Callie, is the choreography lead in this new movie. Every camper wants her moves, and honestly, so do we.

Image Source: Courtesy of Disney Television Entertainment
    Casey Trotter

Casey Trotter joins the cast of Camp Rock 3 as Cliff, the drummer with his own beat and style. You’ll know Casey from Disney Channel’s The Thundermans: Undercover, but now he’s taking over the Disney movie scene! We can’t wait to hear what kind of musical talent he brings to the big screen.

    Ava Jean

It’s not summer camp in the year 2025 without an influencer or two. Actress Ava Jean is entering Camp Rock 3 as Madison, the intimidating and confident influencer who is always camera-ready. This is probably the new character that we’ll find ourselves relating to the most.

    Lumi Pollack

You’ll know Lumi Pollack from the 2021 movie, The Fallout, starring Jenna Ortega. Now, she’s making her Disney Channel debut as Rosie, the cello prodigy, ready to take Camp Rock by storm. The other new faces better watch out, Pollack is clearly a force to be reckoned with.

    Liamani Segura

Emerging actress Liamani Segura has secured the role of Sage on Camp Rock 3. Sage’s character is described as “bold” and “determined,” but fans know little else about her. You may recognize Segura’s name from Disney Channel’s High School Musical: The Musical and Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

    Hudson Stone

Another new face to the Camp Rock franchise is 13-year-old Hudson Stone. His character, Desi, is Sage’s brother, so we’re expecting to see a lot of Hudson and Liamani on screen together. Desi is described as “easygoing,” and we know that Hudson is a musician himself. We can’t wait to see his talent shine on screen!

Whoa, what an amazing cast reveal! If you haven’t seen Camp Rock or Camp Rock 2 in a while, take this as your sign to head to Disney+ and get to streaming! Are you as excited about Camp Rock 3 as we are? Which new character are you looking forward to learning more about? Let us know down in the comments or on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter

  • Every Disney Icon, Band Reunion, and Pop Star Cameo at the Jonas Brothers Tour

    [ad_1]

Big Rob, Demi Lovato, John Legend.
Photo-Illustration: Illustration: Vulture. Photos: Getty Images

The Jonas Brothers have it figured out. So many of their peers and colleagues from Disney Channel or the 2000s/2010s music scene are re-recording their music or making a comeback to the studio. Why not give them a platform for their return? It’s a win-win; their crowd, who obviously is very nostalgic for their favorite Disney band, will love it, the musicians get exposure to their direct audience, and the Jonas Brothers get to book their pals/idols. It’s simply too good. Below, every band jam, pop star surprise, and Disney reunion from the Greetings from Your Hometown tour (More like Greetings from Your Beloved iTunes library.)

*While technically not everyone on this list appeared on Disney Channel, they were absolutely being played on Radio Disney. Or by tween with an iPod Nano in the 2010s. It’s also fair to say they weren’t only famous on Disney Channel, but that’s probably where you first met them.

    Photo: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images

This is real. Demi Lovato reunited with her ex Joe Jonas on the August 10 show to sing Camp Rock favs like “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” They’re exactly where they’re supposed to be — making a big comeback.

His “Beautiful Soul” joined the brothers in Fenway Park before he started “Leavin’” after his set was done.

The crowd was on fire as Big Rob surprised everyone with his “Burnin’ Up” verse during opening night.

The Click Five is now the Click Three (not really, but three original members are still in the band), and they obviously sang, “Just the Girl,” even if she, like, totally wouldn’t care.

A powerhouse singer in her teens and a powerhouse singer in her adulthood, JoJo probably makes everyone almost faint as she came out to sing “Leave (Get Out).” Has Boston checked their seismometer for that date? There might be some interesting readings from all the jumping and dancing.

Cabrera stopped “On the Way Down” in Texas to sing his 2004 hit. Similar to other early 2000s guests, he also re-recorded his hit recently.

It was worth it. After a seven-year hiatus, Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui announced their comeback during the Dallas show, singing “Work From Home” and “Worth It.”

5SOS had the perfect crowd to surprise with “She Looks So Perfect.” Because if you bought tickets to see a boy band, wouldn’t you love to see another boy band? The answer is yes.

They were “Meant to Live” on the MetLife stage after re-recording their Columbia Records debut of The Beautiful Letdown. Switchfoot joined the brothers on tour twice, singing “Dare You to Move” in Chula Vista for the second cameo.

All Time Low jumped in at the Gainesville show to sing “Dear Maria, Count Me In.”

Mmmmmm yeah. Another trio of brothers came to sing “MMMBop” for Virginia Beach crowd.

Cartel has a lot to say. They sang “Say Anything (Else)” in Hershey, PA. The band recently rereleased their hit album Chroma, out now.

You don’t need a reason to see Hoobastank. They surprised all the millennials in the crowd to sing “The Reason.” A perfect evening if you ask me.

Joe shared how much Dashboard Confessional has influenced his songwriting, specifically with “Take a Breath.” They sang “Vindicated” in Fenway Park.

A perfect surprise for those who love a good iPod playlist. The Chicago, Tinley Park enjoyed “Hey There Delilah,” and most likely experienced a nostalgic drive home, thinking of their MySpace profile song.

The Jonas Brothers dared to ask: Hey, what other song can we add to the setlist that will make everyone cry? The easiest answer is “All of Me” from John Legend for their LA show.

On opening night, he sang “Loved You Better,” his collab with the boys on Greetings from Your Hometown.

If the world was ending, JP Saxe has the perfect song for it. He sang “If the World Was Ending” and stayed on stage to play guitar during “Gotta Find You.”

The love for Alessia Cara is multi-generational for the Jonas family. Kevin shared how much his family, specifically his daughters, love her music as she sang “Scars to Your Beautiful” in Toronto.

There’s always room to introduce a rising star to new audiences. Russell Dickerson came out to sing “Happen to Me” in Detroit.

Peter Pan Syndrome? Yuck! Kelsea Ballerini singing “Peter Pan” in Dallas? Hooray!

The singer and former Dancing With The Stars star (who famously tried to get voted off the show because he really missed his cat) sang “I’m Yours” in Chula Vista.

Demi Lovato Opens Up About Why She Considered Retiring From Her Music Career While Filming Child Star Documentary: ‘I Needed So Much…’

    [ad_1]

Demi Lovato recently revealed that she almost considered retiring from her music career while filming her newly released documentary Child Star. Lovato also shared why she made this movie, which marked her directorial debut. The project explores the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the experiences of some of the world’s most famous former child stars. Read on further to know more details!

Demi Lovato recently appeared on  Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast, where she opened up about her documentary Child Star and how she thought of retiring from music. According to EW, Lovato shared, “One of the reasons why I made this film was, like, ‘Why did we turn out the way that we did?” The singer wanted to understand how those experiences affect her now, whether she still wants to pursue her career, and why she felt the need for outside approval.

When Badgley asked the singer if she succeeded in her search for answers, she responded, “I do,” explaining that one of her questions was whether she still wanted to continue her career, noting, “You know, going into this film, I was considering retirement because I didn’t know if it fulfilled me anymore.”

However, the singer acknowledged that working on the project was “therapeutic,” noting that she realized she didn’t need success. The singer, who began her career as a child artist, shared that discussing fame with other former child stars guided her in understanding what she wanted from her music career.

Lovato noted she realized she didn’t need success, saying, “I need to be happy. And at the end of the day, music does make me happy, and that’s why I wanna continue it. I don’t wanna do it because I feel like I have to. I wanna do it because I love it. And working on this film has helped me kind of fall back in love with music.”

She then discussed her new song You’ll Be OK, Kid, revealing that creating the track was an important milestone in her musical journey, noting that this experience was a turning point for her, as it marked a moment when she finally felt a genuine love for something she had created. The singer added, “I’m so self-critical that, like… I have had a really hard time, like, finding my sound and going into the studio and finding that confidence again.”

Demi Lovato admitted that with the track You’ll Be OK, Kid, she realized that she loves music, writing, and working on this, saying, “I wanna still continue it.”

Meanwhile, Child Star is now streaming on Hulu.

Demi Lovato is making a documentary on the dark sides of being a child star

    [ad_1]

Demi Lovato is set to make her directorial debut, co-directing a documentary about the highs and lows of being a child star.

Named Child Star, the documentary film – which will be released in September – will explore what being a young person in the entertainment world can mean, with many famous faces appearing to share their experiences of growing up in the spotlight.

It’s set to be a must watch, especially after the controversy that surrounded Quiet On Set – a recent documentary that looked at the toxic environments surrounding popular TV shows for young people in the 1990s and Noughties, including The Amanda Show (starring Amanda Bynes) and Zoey 101 (starring Jamie-Lynn Spears), and how it affected its child stars.

Here’s everything we know about Child Star so far.

What is Demi Lovato’s Child Star documentary about?

According to a synopsis and statement from Hulu, Demi Lovato’s documentary Child Star “explores the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. Through celebrity interviews, verite scenes and archival footage, this film deconstructs the stages of earlier stardom and looks at the entertainment system over the last century.

Demi will interview other child stars, including Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Wednesday‘s Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa and Alyson Stoner, who co-starred alongside Lovato in Camp Rock.

  • Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo Work It Out on the Remix?

Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo Work It Out on the Remix?

    [ad_1]

We’re in the best of times (brat summer), but we’re also in the worst of times (constantly fielding articles by Some Guy about how brat summer is dead). But how could brat summer be over if I feel it in my heart? If they’re still playing “Guess ft. Billie Eilish” at Tenants of the Trees in LA (where Charli XCX herself had her birthday party for some reason)? And if the impact of brat summer is still causing ripples through the culture it cannot be over.

No, I’m not talking about Kamala’s brat green rebrand. I’m talking about something more substantial — the very same thing that had last summer in the same chokehold: the infectious and irresistible power of girlhood.

Last summer caused a vibe shift. Culture started catering to women. Let’s be real: Women have been the drivers of pop culture for a long time. I, for one, will never forget that artists like The Beatles and Elvis, who are still taken seriously as iconic musical artists today, caused fanatical frenzies, not unlike artists like Justin Bieber and One Direction. Yet, despite our clear good taste, women have historically been written off as fickle while culture catered to men.

Just think of how the 2000s were defined by blockbuster summer movies. Usually, an action movie would dominate, followed by a “chick flick” that was relegated to date nights or the whims of teenage girls. Yet, when
Barbenheimer resurrected this dynamic, one had a clear chokehold on the internet and the world. And since I haven’t seen Oppenheimener-flavored Olipops, no prizes for guessing which one it was.

This summer isn’t defined by movies (Twisters and It Ends With Us aren’t the Barbenheimer redux we wanted) it’s characterized by music. And while the guys gave it the old college try — Kendrick did release the ultimate hater anthem with Not Like Us in the Spring — the girls take it yet again.

And despite seasonal albums from established pop stars like
Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, queer (or queer-coded) female artists have blown up this summer. All of them have also been grafting behind the scenes for years before finally getting their flowers. But now the world is listening. We’re learning. And we’re obsessed.

Of course, there’s the princess of the summer,
Sabrina Carpenter, who is the latest Disney veteran to make it big. We’ll get to her Disney drama later, but this summer, it’s all about our Short n Sweet queen’s infectious earworms. We called it earlier this year: she is the moment. Her rise to fame has been inevitable.

Then there’s the surprise star of the year,
Chappell Roan. So glad bisexual women decided not to gatekeep this absolute star. The fact that I’ve been listening to Chappell since 2020 and I’m still not tired of “Pink Pony Club” says a lot.

    But
Charli XCX’s mainstream moment is arguably the most surprising. Charli is a giant to music lovers and, of course, the queer community. A real dyed-in-the-wool party girl, she grew up in the clubs and doesn’t just talk the talk, she throws the parties. Despite her collaborations with literally everyone, her Grammys, and her hits, Charli XCX is only now becoming a household name. Why? Because we’re finally ready for her.

Girlhood is brat. Brat is girlhood. Girl, it’s so confusing, but it’s about being a girl

Girlhood is the name of the game and Charli writes for the girls and the gays. Her album speaks to the desire to hold on to the feeling of youth juxtaposed with the realities of growing up. Who can’t relate? She talks about themes integral to girlhood: going on vacation and thinking it will change your life, going to a party and thinking it will change your life, and having dinner with a girl and thinking she hates you.

    @thepopupdates The best duo everrrr #charlixcx #lorde #girlsoconfusing #brat #popmusic #music #foryou #foryoupage #fyp #viral ♬ original sound – Pop Throwbacks & Updates

The latter was the impetus for the internet-breaking track “The girl, so confusing version with lorde.” After Charli released the original version of “girl, so confusing,” the internet rightly assumed it was about her years-long pseudo-beef with
Lorde. Lyrics like: “I’m all about throwing parties / You’re all about writing poems,” and “People say we’re alike, they say we’ve got the same hair,” added fuel to the fire of their reported feud. So imagine our surprise when Charli released a version with Lorde herself. Like Miss Ella, honestly, we were speechless.

Lorde knew what she was doing when she said: “When we put this to bed, the internet will go crazy.” Sure enough, the internet erupted. And it did the same once again when footage was released of the two scream-singing their instant classic of a collab at Charli’s birthday party. What a way to put the feud rumors to bed.

Will Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo work it out on the remix?

    @ce__1l girl girl 💚 // #ce__1l #fyp #foryoupage #lyricsvideo #music #sabrinacarpenter #oliviarodrigo #brat ♬ Girl, so confusing featuring lorde – Charli xcx & Lorde

After Lorde and Charli worked out their decade of competition over a Jack Antonoff beat, the internet speculated: who would be next to quell their beef with the power of song? If it seems like the plot of a Disney movie, get in for the ride — the Disney of it all has just begun.

A few weeks ago, sources reported that former Disney stars turned stadium-selling pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter might be collaborating on a song. With the upcoming release of Carpenter’s highly anticipated album sneaking up on us, fans speculate that this could be a surprise track waiting on the record.

If you don’t understand how earth-shattering this is, let me take you back to 2021, when
Olivia Rodrigo first took the world by storm with her song “drivers license.” The song, and subsequent album, chronicled her heartbreak about how her costar and ex-boyfriend Joshua Bassett left her for “that blonde girl.” The blonde in question? Sabrina Carpenter.

That’s right. Our very own me espresso was the villain in
the “drivers license” saga. And you mean to tell me the two of them have put their boy drama aside to collaborate? Please, please, please tell me if this is true. If it is, I’ll be sat watching it unfold. As if I needed another reason to eagerly await the release of Short N Sweet.

In the meantime, I’m making a list and checking it twice about all the other celebs I want to see quell their beef. And yes, the list gets more and more unhinged as you go down, tis the summer of collabs. And our favorite artists are proving that magic can be made if they do it together. Billie and Charli did it. Kendrick and the entire rap community did it. Who is next?

    @kittywaless their lore😍 (pls keep the comments respectful) #catherineprincessofwales #princessofwales #princesscatherine #princesskate #catherinemiddleton #katemiddleton #duchessofcambridge #brat #girlsoconfusing #britishroyalfamily ♬ Girl, so confusing featuring lorde – Charli xcx & Lorde

People we want to see work it out on the remix:

    One Direction

This is my ultimate dream. The
Paris Olympics may have made you fantasize about what life would be like if you hadn’t quit JV basketball, but it made me dream about seeing my beloved One Direction again. After all, I can’t watch an opening ceremony without thinking about their performance at the 2012 London Games. Stranger things have happened than a boyband reuniting. The second they announce a tour, I’m quitting my job and dedicating my life to following them around on tour. Hold me to that.

    Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan

The Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo feud is the closest our generation will ever get to experiencing the magnitude of drama caused by Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. As the two defining Disney sensations turned movie stars of their time, Duff and Lohan were pitted against each other by the media. Everybody knew it: the two were rivals in their careers and in their relationships. We’ll never experience that kind of TMZ-stoked animosity again. But we’re older now. Duff and Lohan are both in new phases of their careers. If they worked it, the (millennial side of the) internet really would go crazy.

    Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber

These two divas have been competing to be the prince of pop for years. And their silent feud runs deep. In a radio interview at the beginning of Shawn’s career, Justin responded to a question about the other Canadian crooner with the dismissive and deadly, “who’s Shawn Mendes?” Then, after Mendes appeared with Hailey Baldwin at the Met Gala in 2018, Bieber quickly reignited his relationship with our favorite nepo baby and married her. Talk about winning the battle. The two already have a song together, “
Monster,” but no one is buying that they’ve really worked it out. I want to see Shawn at Justin and Hailey’s baby shower or bust.

    Justin Bieber and Harry Styles

Speaking of pop feuds, Bieber and Styles have been toeing a tension-laden line since 2012. Rumors swirled that One Direction was supposed to open for Bieber on his
Believe tour but the plans were canceled — and dreams died. Reasons abound as to why but I suppose we’ll never know. As someone who attended that Believe tour, I have been waiting for them to work it out on the remix ever since.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers

Other feuds from my childhood I want fixed: the Disney Channel stars involved in the seminal sustainability single, “Send It On.” That was our Fleetwood Mac
Rumors. With loyalties crossed, relationships breaking friendships, and a whole lot of teen angst going on, the Disney Channel producers had one song and one song only to change lives. While we were watching “Send It On” play during Disney breaks, we had no clue about the drama simmering beneath the surface. But imagine if they put that to bed? The internet would go crazy.

    Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift

Of all of Taylor’s exes, she’s clearly already worked it out with Taylor Lautner — who was backflipping across her Eras tour stages for a brief stint last summer. But the reconciliation I really want is between Taylor and Joe. Sure, she’s written some scathing songs about him. And she told the world on
Ellen that he broke up with her in 17 seconds. And she’s befriended Sophie Turner. But for a brief moment, Taylor made up with Kanye West, so stranger things have happened. Can you imagine a mashup between “SOS” by The Jonas Brothers and “The Story of US” by Taylor Swift? My Spotify Wrapped would become unshareable.

    Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Though allegedly this feud started due to the backup dancers, Perry has become one of
Swift’s famed list of enemies. And as the queen of “Karma,” Swifties know that all of Taylor’s adversaries never fare well — just look at Ye or Scooter Braun. Katy Perry’s comeback might be another one of these casualties. Ouch. If the two managed to reconcile their “Bad Blood,” imagine the album Katy Perry would create.

    Nelly Furtado and Fergie

    Remember the song “
Give It To Me” by Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake? Thanks to TikTok, the song experienced a recent resurgence. But did you know the entire song is a diss track? Justin Timberlake’s verse is about Prince (more insane than “what tour? The world tour”), Timbaland’s verse is about Scott Storch, and Nelly Furtado’s verse is about Fergie. But what if we stopped pitting two pop icons against each other and instead begged them both to have a comeback … together?

    The Don’t Worry Darling Cast

    The
Don’t Worry Darling press tour pitted all our favorite stars against each other in the public arena: Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, and Gemma Chan. And while that trainwreck of a movie doesn’t need a sequel, I would animatedly watch one just to keep keen eyes on the press tour.

The It Ends With Us Cast

If we thought there would never be another press tour as dramatic as
Don’t Worry Darling, Justin Baldoni of the It Ends With Us cast just hired Johnny Depp’s lawyer — so it’s inarguably surpassed its dramatic predecessor. With Blake Lively and Baldoni both waging a press war, some are hoping It Ends With Us will just … end. But I need a little entertainment to tide me over into fall. And if the movie itself won’t provide it, the hope of a last-gasp reconciliation might.

    Kendrick Lamar and Drake

I know this will never happen. In fact, if it did, I’d
lose some respect for Kendrick, honestly. But sometimes I like to imagine that all of this was just marketing for a joint album a la “Watch the Throne.”

A Deeper Look Into Demi Lovato's 20+ Tattoos – POPSUGAR Australia

    [ad_1]

Demi Lovato got their first tattoo when they were 16, and they’ve been adding to the collection ever since. Over the years, Lovato has gotten classic one-word designs as well as script tattoos, and as she’s continued in her career, she’s progressed to larger, more realistic portraits on places like their head, ribcage, and even their hands.

Similarly to their tattoo of the word “free,” Lovato’s pieces are known for having a deeper meaning. In January 2022, she revealed a spider tattoo on the side of their head, which she later shared was inspired by the Cherokee folktale called “Grandmother Spider Brings the Light.” “It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things,” Lovato wrote on their Instagram Stories. “She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web – each of us having our place in this world.”

It seems that for Lovato, tattoos act as a testament to life’s experiences, especially as they’ve opened up about their journey to sobriety. Back in 2019, they got the word “survivor” on their neck after experiencing a nearly fatal overdose the year before. Since then, Lovato has added numerous other designs to their body-art collection, so we compiled all of their known ink to date.

Read ahead to see all of Demi Lovato’s tattoos and learn their meanings.

Toby Gad is a collaborative genius- co-writing mega-hits like Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy”, Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper”, and John Legend’s “All Of Me”. He’s working on re-creating his extensive repertoire by recording piano versions…his latest installment being Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, accompanied by famed singer-actress Victoria Justice.

Justice’s strong vocals and ability to belt make her the perfect touch to Gad’s already iconic writing. When re-imagining music, you want to make it uniquely your own. Which is why Justice and Gad put such a refreshing, soothing approach on the song that makes it unlike anything you’ve heard before.

    Conan Gray- “Killing Me”

Conan Gray’s gentle tone yearns to move on in “Killing Me”, his latest track about being unable to move on from those relationships that are toxic. The hold they have on you remains, but you can’t seem to find any more redeemable qualities that keep you around. Those relationships feel like they’re killing you, and Conan Gray has a special way of putting it into words.

“I wrote “killing me” while I was sick with the flu. It was a miserable time where I was both physically sick, but also super heartbroken over somebody. Hence, ‘you’re KILLING me.’ I think we all have those people who don’t treat us nearly well enough, but we just can’t seem to let them go. People who call you at 2AM, and who you know you shouldn’t pick up……but you do. “Killing Me” is for when you’re on your last limb begging this person to just please stop torturing your heart.”

    ericdoa- “dancinwitsomebawdy”

At age 21, you wouldn’t expect ericdoa to be as experienced and talented at creating a hit track…but he is, and that’s what makes him a juggernaut in the hyperpop, rap scene. He blends genres into one that just makes sense, which “dancingwithsomebawdy” is an example of. The track gets us ready for a new album in the new year, “dancingwithsomebawdy” is both a thrill to listen to and a promise of what’s to come.

“I missed a lot of childhood being in meetings, obsessing over trying to be this artist that I wanted to become,” he says. “I really lost the freeing, adolescent feeling of just creating whatever I wanted.”

    ROSIE- “It’s Not Christmas”

The first holiday song on our Weekend Playlists! It was inevitable, but ROSIE’s is a beautiful encapsulation of what it’s like to miss someone during the holiday season. We know it as a time of celebration and to be around family, but don’t often consider what it may be like for those missing a person. A pleasant reminder to stay positive, ROSIE delivers a heart-warming holiday track.

“It’s Not Christmas” is about missing someone during the holiday season. Although this time of year is full of joy and magic for some, it can be extremely difficult for others, so I wrote a song for anyone who needs a reminder that’s it’s okay to be sad, even on Christmas!

Dax ft. Darius Rucker- “To Be A Man”

Nigerian-Canadian country rapper Dax has a way of molding country music into its own, special sound. Pairing up with hit country singer, Darius Rucker, makes “To Be A Man” even better thanks to his smooth sound that can complement anyone’s vocals. The track instantly went viral on Instagram, which makes sense due to its empowering, uplifting lyrics that hit home with any listener.

It’s an introspective, honest track that encourages you to look inside and acknowledge when you need help as well. It’s a look into mental health, the struggles we go through, and what it means to “be a man.”

    Zoe Ko- Baby Teeth

When you listen to Zoe Ko’s EP, Baby Teeth, you’ll get notes of pop-rock princesses like Gwen Stefani during her No Doubt days, Olivia Rodrigo, and maybe even a hint of Paramore in there. You’ll hear her cutting edge, witty lyrics and lilting voice that hits every note just right, and want even more from her.

Baby Teeth consists of five tracks to give you the perfect sampling of who Zoe Ko is as an artist: honest, funny, and edgy. In the world of Zoe Ko, there is something satisfying about the guitar riffs and confidence that exudes from this EP. She’s one to watch in the industry for sure.

Sammy Virji- “If U Need It”

Sammy Virji is on fire lately, “If U Need It” is the perfect track to go out and dance to. It’s got the makings of a staple on your going out playlist: a hook that makes you want to sing, a beat that makes you want to dance, and the innovativeness to sound fresh and new every time you hear it. “If U Need It” has it all.

Known for his risk-taking with his music, Sammy Virji is proving that he’s a name to be remembered in electronic dance music. We can’t wait to see what comes next, knowing that he delivers time after time.

    Joy (Anonymous)- Cult Classics

Joy Anonymous is here with their vital collection of tracks essential for a night on the dance floor. With all tracks technically (and cleverly) titled “JOY”, you’re getting what is considered Joy Anonymous to their core. It’s a bold mix of disco, house, soul, and classic EDM that works perfectly.

“Cult Classics is the soundtrack of Joy Anonymous meetings over the past two years. It began in Imogen Heap’s house in Romford. Where we spent two weeks working with various friends and new collaborators to form the skeletons of what was to become the album you hear today. Then we took these sounds on tour and tested them out in meetings around the world, honing and developing the sound on the move. Joy Anonymous is a movement where people feel included and feel safe to share expression and emotion. We have tried to capture that in the sound, process, and delivery of this album.”

    Take That- “This Life”

Gearing up to release their ninth studio album as a band, Take That shares the second single from their upcoming album, Brand New Sun. “This Life” is a showcasing of Take That- their vocals, their band, and their production skills all display their expertise in the industry. It’s polished, well-rounded, and a sign that Take That has it all figured out.

“It’s been a wonderful experience being back in the studio together making this record. It has that feeling of spreading your wings, letting out the old and bringing in the new” commented the band. ‘We’re incredibly proud of the new album – there’s a sense oftogetherness, whether that’s us coming back together as a band or people wantingconnection in their own lives. We’re excited for this new chapter!”

‘The hookups that I had with a girl..’: Demi Lovato REVEALS song Cool for the Summer is about fling with another female celebrity

    [ad_1]

Demi Lovato has been open about several things in her life including her struggles with anxiety, depression, and coming out as a bisexual. The 31-year-old, known for starring in Camp Rock, has been vocal about music being her outlet, like several other musicians and artists. She recently opened up about her hit pop track Cool for the Summer.

She revealed how it was inspired by a fling of hers with another famous female celebrity. Lovato also talked about how she took a while before coming out as a bisexual since she was from a Christian household. Here’s what the former Disney star divulged about the same.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Lovato gave some insight into her hit song Cool for the Summer which was released back in 2015. “I was thinking about the hookups that I had had with a girl and decided to write this song,” the singer said. She further revealed that the muse in question was another famous woman who she was in a relationship with at one point in time, though she refused to reveal any details about her.

Lovato pointed out that it would be disrespectful to her boyfriend, musician Jutes if she shared too many details about that previous fling. “I’m in a relationship now and I feel like that would be inappropriate. I missed the moment. Should’ve said it back then,” she added. Regardless, the actress did add that the mystery woman in question is unaware that she inspired the popular song. Lovato also disclosed that their relationship was never public.

“Sometimes I write songs and I just leave them, let them be,” she continued and added that she wasn’t afraid the song would affect her career. For the unversed, Cool for the Summer has bisexual themes and references. Talking about her sexuality, Lovato explained, “It was more so like coming to terms with it myself — I didn’t actually come out as bisexual until I was 24 or 25. I think coming from a Christian household made me nervous for that.”

She also revealed that her mother Dianna De La Garza told her she just wanted her to be happy, while her stepfather Eddie De La Garza joked that he already knew about it. “My dad was like, ‘Yeah, you have a song called Cool for the Summer, like it’s obvious,’” she told Stern. Lovato recently performed at the MTV VMAs which were held on September 12.

Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato cut ties with manager Scooter Braun: reports – National | Globalnews.ca

    [ad_1]

Singers Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have parted ways with high-profile music manager Scooter Braun, according to numerous reports.

Billboard reported that both Lovato, 31, and Grande, 30, have severed ties with the music mogul, though the reasoning for the split remains unclear. Entertainment Weekly also confirmed reports of the business breakup.

Grande signed with Braun’s entertainment group SB Projects in 2013. That same year, she released her debut album Yours Truly. It is not clear when exactly Grande reportedly ended the professional relationship with Braun, 42.

For her part, Lovato signed with Braun and SB Projects in 2019. Billboard reported that the Skyscraper singer parted ways with Braun in July. Lovato does not have new management, but the outlet reported that “conversations” with prospective parties are already taking place. Reports maintained that the split between Lovato and Braun was amicable.

Lovato and Grande have not commented publicly on the situation.

On social media, Braun appeared to poke fun at the reports and on Tuesday tweeted, “Breaking news… I’m no longer managing myself.”

Lovato and Grande are not the only clients to recently exit Braun’s talent roster. In May, popular Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin left SB Projects to instead sign with the entertainment agency Roc Nation.

Earlier this month, rumours circulated that Justin Bieber was also going to part ways with Braun, who launched him to fame, but the reports were quickly denied. A representative for the Canadian singer told Page Six on Friday that the rumours of the pair’s alleged fallout are “not true.”

Alongside Bieber, SB Projects still appears to manage a number of stars, including Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen, Quavo of the rap group Migos, David Guetta and the Black Eyed Peas.

Braun is one of the most well-known contemporary music managers, but his reputation has not always been stellar.

Aside from being an entertainment industry mogul, Braun is well known for his infamous feud with Taylor Swift. In 2019, Braun’s investment group Ithaca Holdings purchased Big Machine Records, which signed Swift at the beginning of her career as a young country singer. The deal meant Braun came to own Swift’s master recordings for her first six albums.

Swift claimed in 2020 that after failed negotiations with Braun, he sold her masters to a private company. Swift said she wanted to personally buy the rights to her masters but was denied. She said Braun also wanted her to sign an “ironclad NDA stating I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive.”

In protest, Swift left her record label and signed with Universal, where she has been re-recording her older albums. This month, she announced the upcoming release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Swift has already re-recorded and released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021), Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (2023). The re-recorded albums have not only delighted Swift’s loyal fanbase but have also devalued the original masters owned by Braun.

In 2021, Braun sold Ithaca Holdings to the South Korean entertainment conglomerate Hybe, which manages a number of world-famous artists, including BTS.

This year, Braun became the sole CEO of Hybe America. SB Projects continues to operate under Hybe America.

  • Your Weekend Playlist: New Music To Listen To Friday

Your Weekend Playlist: New Music To Listen To Friday

    [ad_1]

I think I can speak for the collective when I say this week has felt long and arduous. I feel like I’ve used every last shred of energy saved up to even survive all the workweek, so needless to say, I’m exhausted. But, that’s not stopping me from gearing up for another week of new music.

If you don’t know by now, we have a weekly thing going here. I round up all of these new, glorious releases every Friday and you, dear reader, run to your streaming platform of choice and listen! It’s a mutually beneficial relationship, one that I look forward to weekly.

This week is no different, we’ve got heavy hitters coming out with new music now that the summer is essentially over. The Disney Trinity is returning to music soon: Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus all have music coming within the next two weeks. It’s almost like it’s 2006 and I’m tuning into a Disney Channel Original Movie soon.

And then, even further on the horizon, we have Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS looming. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves here, it’s only August 18! And while it may be my roommate’s birthday, it’s also a week full of new music.

    Let’s Get Listening!

Demi Lovato – “Confident (Rock Version)”

Demi Lovato has one of the strongest vocal ranges in the music industry- which makes her voice perfect for rock and roll music. She’s able to hit all the notes that pierce your soul, added the heavy drumbeat and scathing electric guitar to give us the versions of her old pop songs that feel fresh. It’s apart of her new REVAMPED album, coming September 15, which features rock versions of all our fave Demi songs.

We first saw the new rock era of Demi on her 2022 HOLY FVCK tour, and fans have been anxiously awaiting to hear Demi’s new spin on old faves. Alongside her all female band, Demi Lovato reinstates herself as the queen of genre-blending sound, a true musical genius.

Khloe Rose – The In Between (album)

Khloe Rose is our feature artist of the week: someone who has the ability to sing, write, and play multiple instruments deserves their own segment…especially when that someone is 19-year-old Khloe Rose. She’s created a flawless album with The In Between, which includes the title track about those in-between moments in relationships…where you can’t quite figure out what’s happening.

It’s a refreshing feeling to have all of your emotions put into words, which is exactly what her music provides. It’s therapeutic to listen to, and her music is insanely catchy. She’s one to watch these days, if you’re a fan of artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift- check out Khloe Rose.

Icona Pop – “Fall In Love”

Icona Pop makes music for those who are ready to let loose and have a good time. The duo has given us bangers like “I Love It (ft. Charli XCX)”, “All Night”, and “Desire” with Joel Corry, but now they’re here with “Fall In Love.” It’s the perfect taste of their new album, out September 1, CLUB ROMANTECH. “Fall In Love” feels fun, lighthearted, ethereal in ways, and makes us feel all the emotions falling in love does. Icona Pop says,

“‘Fall In Love’ is about that moment when you fall sooo hardfor someone it’s almost like hitting a wall; you get all dizzy and almost lose touch with the ground andcan’t focus on anything else. The track is kind of an experiment for us to play around with our poppierside; we wanted to play around with mixing up our lyrics, but approach the melody almost like you wouldwith a sample, except it’s just us singing.”

Mantra of the Cosmos – “X (Wot You Sayin?)”

Mantra of the Cosmos is like if you assembled the Avengers of UK music and put them into a band. Consisting of successful musicians from iconic bands, this group knows what they’re doing. I mean, when you put together Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays, Black Grape), Zak Starkey (The Who, Oasis), Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride), Bez (Happy Mondays, Black Grape) and latest members, Brix Smith of The Fall, you know you’re getting the best music.

Their latest single “X (Wot You Sayin?) is pure fun. A refreshing drumbeat and creative lyrics meld into harmonica runs to create a genre-blended single. Every single member of this band put a little of their magic into the song, which is prevalent when you’re listening.

Surf Mesa – “First Time (ft. Stevie Appleton)”

Surf Mesa is making a name for himself quickly as a sought-after producer and someone who can make a banger track every single time. Ever since his essential debut with “ily (I love you baby)”, the world has been enjoying Surf Mesa’s ability to produce Beachy tracks that send you to the coast of California every time you press play. “First Time” with Stevie Appleton is classic Surf Mesa- chill, instilling within you some sort of wanderlust to be wherever the water is and the drinks are.

Following hit singles like “Manzanita,” it’s an exciting time to be a fan of Surf Mesa. He doesn’t disappoint, giving you what you didn’t know you needed.
