Jawan 3rd Friday Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan starrer continues to remain choice in India; Netts Rs 6.75 crores

Shah Rukh Khan led Jawan, directed by Atlee Kumar and co-starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and others, remained the first choice at the Indian box office even on its third Friday, despite the release of the new Vicky Kaushal film The Great Indian Family, as it collected Rs 6.75 crores nett in Hindi and Rs 7.25 crores including regional dubs. The numbers are less than 10 percent down from Thursday, which goes to show the level to which the film has been accepted theatrically. Going by the advances for Saturday and Sunday, it is pretty obvious that the SRK-Atlee film will have yet another terrific weekend theatrically. As on its third Friday, Jawan has netted Rs 469 crores for its Hindi version and Rs 522 crores including dubbed versions, in India.

Jawan Remains The Most Preferred Indian Movie Choice For Its Third Consecutive Friday At The Box Office

Jawan will be crossing Pathaan‘s India nett total (Rs 531 crores nett) to emerge as the highest grossing Hindi origin film in India today, that is on its third Saturday. Following the recent success of Jawan at the box-office, the makers of the film hosted a press meet at the YRF office in Mumbai on Friday.

The press meet was attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Atlee, Sanya Malhotra, Raja Kumari, Anirudh Ravichander and others.

Is Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan inspired by Money Heist? Casting director Mukesh Chhabra reveals

Shah Rukh Khan is just a few days away from stealing thunders with his much-awaited and highly anticipated next, Jawan. Directed by Atlee, Jawan marks King Khan’s second-biggest outing of the year after his blockbuster comeback film, Pathaan. In the much-talked-about Atlee directorial, SRK will reportedly be seen playing a double role. It is also believed that King Khan plays the ‘chief’ of a fierce and fearless girl gang, a glimpse of which is also shown in Jawan’s prevue. While millions of SRKians are eagerly waiting for the film to hit theatres, a few of them have come up with their own theories about Khan’s upcoming project.

As per one of the many fan theories, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is inspired by the globally acclaimed Spanish web series, Money Heist. In the popular web series, a criminal mastermind who goes by the name ‘Professor’ leads a team of eight skilled members with unique abilities, including two girls – Tokyo and Nairobi. In an exclusive conversation with entertainment journalist Faidoon Shahyar, Bollywood’s popular casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, who has done the casting in Jawan, reacted to the comparisons that are being drawn between Jawan and the popular Spanish crime thriller. When asked if Jawan is inspired by Money Heist, refuting the fan theory, Chhabra replied, “Jitne logon ko guess karna hai karte rahiye. Jab Jawan bahar aayegi toh aapko pata chalega aapne dekha. Trailer ke baad mujhe itne messages aaye, but I didn’t disclose. I want you all to wait and witness it on the big screen.”

The casting director who is a big Shah Rukh Khan fan says Jawan is a ‘special’ film for him as well. Moreover, he is confident that the film will surprise millions of SRK fans in a big way.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, who is gearing up for the release of Jawan, treated his fans and followers with a new motion poster of the film on Friday. The latest motion poster of Jawan gives a glimpse of the intriguing five different looks of the superstar in the film. With Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Anurag Kashyap enjoyed the dialogues of the Hindi mainstream movie after a long time. He praised the writers, Ishita Moitra and Gogo Roy for the same. However, his favourite parts were the ‘unrequited love story’ between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi and the ‘patriarchal villany’ of Jaya Bachchan. He praised Tota Roy Choudhary and Churni Ganguly for their performances Rani’s parents and also Aamir Bashir who played Ranveer’s father in the movie. Deepika Padukone admits binge-watching THIS controversial show; Reveals her favorite cartoon

Deepika Padukone, the celebrated actress is currently on top of her game with back-to-back promising projects in her kitty. The popular star was last seen in Pathaan, the spy thriller that featured Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role and emerged as one of the biggest successes in the history of Hindi cinema. Later, Deepika Padukone garnered immense popularity with her appearance at the Academy Awards 2023 event and several other international events.

Recently, Deepika Padukone treated her fans with a surprise AMA session on her official Instagram handle. The Cocktail actress had a highly fun interaction with her followers and answered a few selected questions. Interestingly, the usually calm and composed star showcased the rarely-seen entertaining side of her personality with her answers.

Deepika Padukone admits binge-watching Indian Matchmaking

During the AMA session, a few of the fans asked Deepika Padukone which show is she currently binge-watching. The famous actress answered this million-dollar question with a super fun video posted on her Instagram story. Deepika, who initially hesitated, suddenly had a big, naughty smile on her face, as she answered: “Indian Matchmaking.” However, the actress immediately ran away and quickly got into her vanity van, before her staff members and fans judged her for her choice of show for binge-watching.

The Bollywood star is also all set to make her Telugu debut with the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Project K. She is sharing the screen with pan-Indian star Prabhas in the film, which is helmed by Mahanati fame director Nag Ashwin. The movie, which is set to release by the first half of 2024, is releasing in five languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Chris Gayle wants to dance with Deepika Padukone and says she is ‘a very nice lady’

Jamaican cricket player Chris Gayle recently launched his latest single Oh Fatima which he recorded with Indian singer-composer Arko Pravo Mukherjee. During the music launch event on Tuesday, he stated that if he ever gets a chance to dance with a Bollywood actress, it would be Deepika Padukone.

He said, “I have met her in person.Deepika Padukone, a very nice lady. I would love to dance with Deepika Padukone in a song.”

Chris also described how the COVID-induced pandemic lockout motivated him to write some music and said, “It all started during the pandemic when we all were locked in our houses. A friend of mine said let`s do a song together. He turned up at my house and we did a song together. I was so fascinated by it and the best part was people in Jamaica accepted it. Then I recorded another song and eventually set up my own studio at my own home and started collaborating with people from the music field. At no point in my cricket career, I had imagined I would ever venture into singing.”

For Oh Fatima, Chris worked alongside composer-singer Arko Pravo Mukherjee. Karina Karra, an artist from Uzbekistan, also appears in the Rammjii Gulatii-directed video. The upbeat tune combines Jamaican and Indian musical styles.

Talking about the song, Arko said, “Our collaboration comes as a great opportunity to introduce India to Jamaican music, along with Indian music reaching a massive global audience. Through this foot-tapping, energetic song, Indian and Jamaican styles of music come together in a melody created to make you swoon, groove, and enjoy life.”
