Chad DiMera and kids to leave Salem for Arizona in Days of Our Lives
Chad DiMera and his kids will leave Salem for Arizona on the February 17, 2026 episode of the Days of Our Lives.
DOOL has confirmed that tomorrow will be Flynn’s final appearance on the show as Chad DiMera. As per spoilers, he will exit the town with his kids, Thomas and Charlotte. Following Flynn’s departure, Conner Floyd will be stepping into his shoes as Chad.
During his exit, the former opened up about his experience working on DOOL and joining The Young and the Restless. He told Variety, “We do the best work we can despite the obstacles that we’ve faced as a show. Part of that move [to Y&R] I’m excited about is they move slower, and there’s more time to do stuff.”
Referring to DOOL’s shoot schedule for filming episodes nine months before air date, he said, “But I was trained like a warrior here!” Flynn further added, “There’s a different pace [here], but it’s made me the actor and the person I am today.”
Talking about Chad, he shared, “I think with this character, I’ve done everything I can with it. I’m looking forward to doing something new.” Moreover, Flynn mentioned how he ended up connecting with the character.
“I’ve got to play this entire revolution,” he said. “I don’t know what else to do with him. He’s been as much of me as I think I probably will ever put into another part,” Flynn continued. The actor further explained, “There were some times when I was going through some really hard things in my life, and it just so happened that Chad was going through similar things: losing his wife, and I had lost somebody close to me.”
He added, “Things have all lined up with the character that made it [so] I put more of Billy into Chad than I probably would’ve otherwise. There were moments in it that became like a love letter to my own kind of life. It’s special in that way.”
Emily O’Brien earns another Emmy nomination for her role in Days of Our Lives; however, the actress doesn’t think she will win. The 40-year-old says she appreciates the recognition but sees the nomination as a celebration of her work rather than a sure win.
Emily O’Brien ‘wasn’t expecting to have a nomination’ at this year’s Emmy for her DoOL role
Emily O’Brien replaced Jen Lilley for the role of Theresa on Days of Our Lives. She revealed that it shocked her. Because she “wasn’t expecting to have a nomination as Theresa.” Explaining, she said it was tough to make the character her own and find her “footing.”
Through her Emmy-nominated role on Days of Our Lives, Emily O’Brien proves her range as a soap actress. She also has The Young and the Restless under her experience. She has also realized how important Theresa’s wig has become in her part. O’Brien joked that she might take it as a date to the Awards.
However, the actress feels that she might not win this year. Per Soap Opera Digest, she said, “I even thought about bringing the wig with me as a date! I’d have to mention the wig in there somewhere [if she were called to make an acceptance speech], but I’m not thinking that far ahead. I really don’t think it’s my year. I’m just happy to be on this ride again and alongside Linsey [Godfrey, Sarah, who was also nominated for Supporting Actress] for a second time. That part is just the most fun, and it’s enough for me just to have that fun right now!”
Even though Emily O’Brien thinks she will not win the Emmy for her role on Days of Our Lives, she says she will still get nervous. Despite that, she has her groundwork laid out. It is to manage the nerves, be present in the moment, and enjoy it.
Jennifer Aniston got candid about her turbulent childhood in a tell-all interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, sharing that her parents used her as a “pawn” in their nasty divorce. The 56-year-old is the only daughter of soap star John Aniston and sitcom actress Nancy Dow, with the pair marrying in 1965 and divorcing in 1980 when Jennifer was just nine years old. “Their divorce was not amicable in any way, shape, or form, and it was a time when there wasn’t a lot of awareness of how to behave for the sake of the kid,” she explained.
“That was the least of [their] worries – it was more, how could they hurt each other? And I was just a pawn.” Despite the pain of her parents’ divorce, Jennifer shared that John and Nancy were “ridiculously funny people” and that she grew up “around a lot of laughter”. Her father was best known for starring as Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives on and off for 37 years, and also appeared in shows like The West Wing, Gilmore Girls and Mad Men.
Meanwhile, Nancy made her name with roles in The Beverly Hillbillies, The Wild Wild West and The Ice House. Jennifer previously revealed to Interview magazine that “growing up in a household that was destabilized and felt unsafe” allowed her to build resilience and learn how to deal with heartbreak. She remained close to her father until his death in November 2022, and even accepted his Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award that same year.
“This is truly a special moment for me,” the Friends star said. “It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.” Unfortunately, she shared a far more difficult relationship with her mother, and explained that the divorce had a lasting effect on Nancy.
“She was a model, and she was all about presentation and what she looked like and what I looked like,” Jennifer toldThe Sunday Telegraph in 2018. “I did not come out the model child she’d hoped for, and it was something that really resonated with me: this little girl just wanting to be seen and wanting to be loved by a person who was too occupied with things that didn’t quite matter.”
Jennifer’s parents John and Nancy were married from 1965 to 1980
Nancy wrote about their tense relationship in her 1999 memoir, From Mother and Daughter to Friends, which prompted Jennifer to cut ties altogether. “I never thought my mom would not know my husband,” she told Diane Sawyer in a 2004 interview for ABC News, referring to Brad Pitt, whom she was married to from 2000 to 2005.
The blonde beauty was always close with her soap actor father
Jennifer and Nancy reportedly reconciled following her divorce from Brad and remained in each other’s lives until Nancy’s passing in 2016. “I forgave my mom,” she told Allurein 2022. “It’s important. It’s toxic to have that resentment, that anger. I learned that by watching my mom never let go of it. I remember saying, ‘Thank you for showing me what never to be.’”
The actress shared a turbulent relationship with her mother
While Nancy never said “I do” again after her divorce from John, she was previously married to Jack Melick from 1956 to 1961, and shared a son, John T. Melick III, with him. Jennifer’s dad remarried after Nancy to Sherry Rooney in 1984. The couple welcomed one son, Alexander Aniston.

Hayes played the character of Doug Williams on the daytime serial since 1970, five years after the show’s debut. He met his real-life wife, actress Susan Seaforth, on the series set in the fictional Illinois town of Salem.
Hayes and Seaforth were married in 1974. Two years later, their characters were married on the show. The same year, the pair also appeared on the cover of Time magazine in a cover story on the popularity of daytime soaps.
“I have known Bill for most of my life and he embodied the heart and soul of ‘Days of our Lives,’ ” said executive producer Ken Corday. “Although we are grieving and will miss him, Bill’s indelible legacy will live on in our hearts and the stories we tell, both on and off the screen.”
Hayes’ character was one of the longest-running characters on the soap, now produced by Sony Pictures TV. As pillars of the show, the couple faced numerous trials, ranging from Doug’s deranged ex-wife, an exploding oven and numerous serial killers.
Hayes earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for his work on the show in 1975 and 1976. Hayes and Seaforth-Hayes earned lifetime achievements award from the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2018.
Hayes’ career began in the early days of network TV in 1949 when he starred on Olsen & Johnson’s “Fireball Fun-for-All” and later worked on Sid Caesar’s “Your Show of Shows.”
Born in Harvey, Ill., Hayes, a singer and dancer, made his Broadway debut in the Rodgers & Hammerstein tuner “Me and Juliet” in 1953, according to SoapCentral.com. He also did national tours of such stage musicals as “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Student Prince,” “Anything Goes,” “Camelot,” and “The Pajama Game,” according to SoapCentral.
In 1956, Hayes had a pop hit with his rendition of “The Ballad of Davy Crockett,” the song made popular by actor Fess Parker, who played Crockett on the Disney-produced series that aired in daytime from 1954 to 1955.
By 1970, Hayes was a divorced father five children. The role as a formerly imprisoned con artist turned nightclub singer on “Days” proved to be that fit.
In 1984, the couple quit “Days” after their characters’ airtime diminished. Seaforth Hayes ended up returning to the show in 1990 without Hayes. Hayes made sporadic appearances in Salem and performed on stage throughout the rest of the 1990s. Hayes also earned a doctorate in education from West Virginia University.
In 2003, Hayes and Seaforth Hayes returned to the series, even though both characters had been presumed by viewers to be dead.

Another amazing episode of Days of Our Lives was released this week. This time, the plot captivates viewers with emotional fervor, and an unexpected surprise keeps them guessing. So get your blankets and munchies and get ready to snuggle in, because you don’t want to miss out on anything. Drugs are freely flowing in Salem, and Paulina (Jackée Harry) is determined to put a stop to it. She’ll need a major player to hunt down the source and put an end to this illegal ring that’s destroying people’s lives all around town.
Her top pick? Of course, Harris (Steve Burton)! He is a tough newcomer to the force with a lot to show. In addition, he’s dating (kind of) former Mob Princess Ava (Tamara Braun). Maybe she can shed some light on what’s going on (hint, wink).
At the same time, Theresa (Emily O’Brien) is doing the same thing. She and Brady (Eric Martsolf) fight again, and this time it’s not pretty. Thankfully, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) arrives and puts an end to the feud before it escalates.
Meanwhile, Xander (Paul Telfer) makes a decision regarding the custody battle that could change everything. He offers to withdraw the case, but will this be yet another incident that disrupts their fragile peace? Is he really going to give Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) custody of Victoria?

“I got past 13 weeks … and then we went to a 26-week cycle and then we went to a year cycle. I still have moments where I pull into the studio and think, ‘Is the key card going to work?’”
For 47 years (with a couple of brief breaks) she’s been entertaining fans as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days. In the role, she’s faced demonic possession not once, but twice, has been presumed dead multiple times, endured kidnappings and abductions, been framed for murder and fallen in and out of love with various characters.
