If you’ve ever dreamt of calling “Dawson’s Creek” home, now could be your chance.

For the first time since the hit drama series ended more than 20 years ago, the iconic Wilmington waterfront home featured in the show has hit the market, as reported by Realtor.com.

Famously known to fans as the home of Dawson Leery — played by James Van Der Beek, the historic white abode is nestled along Hewlett’s Creek surrounded by ancient live oaks, magnolias and pines at 6424 Head Road.

According to by the Sabourin Homes Team of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, the home was built in 1880 and held by the same family for nearly 140 years.

Fun fact: It was even moved to its current creekside perch by horse-drawn log rollers over a century ago.

“Our family has cherished this home for generations, and while it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re hopeful the next owner will love it as much as we have,” a family representative said in a media release, speaking on behalf of the sellers. “This isn’t just walls and windows to us — it’s a chapter of Wilmington’s story.”

    Inside the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ home

Selling at $3.25 million as is, the 2,465-square-foot home sits on a 1.7-acre lot just minutes away from the beach. Inside, it’s built with four bedrooms, three and half baths, a formal dining room and living room, the listing says.

Outside, French doors open to a screened front porch, a private pier and floating dock to venture out by boat.

    Buyer will get ‘behind-the-scenes mementos’

“It’s a home that bridges past and present in a way few places can,” Jill Sabourin, the listing agent with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, said in a release. “From the moment you walk through the door to the screened in porch or sit on the dock at sunset, you can feel the history and a sense of magic here. It’s truly special to represent this property.”

If you’ve ever seen “Dawson’s Creek,” you’ll remember that primarily the exteriors and surrounding property were featured on the show, including scenes on the dock. But most interior shots, like in Dawson’s bedroom and kitchen, were shot on sets to match the house’s look, according to the listing agent.

In the past, the family has welcomed fans for informal yard visits, its listing agent says, but that stopped during this selling period. Still, the owners hope the next buyer “appreciates the history and connection to the show.”

They are even preparing to “hand off a treasure trove of personal stories, old photos, and even some behind-the-scenes mementos to the new owner — a continuity of lore from one chapter to the next.”

“The ideal buyer is someone who will be a steward of the place,” the family representative noted, “maybe an enthusiast of history or a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ superfan – someone who’ll appreciate that this isn’t just any waterfront lot.”
