  • Phillip Frankland Lee Brings NADC’s Viral Wagyu Burgers Home to Los Angeles

    [ad_1]

Chef Phillip Frankland Lee moved from Los Angeles to Austin during the Covid-19 pandemic, but there was not a damn chance that he was abandoning California.

Lee, who grew up in Los Angeles, has continued to operate Sushi by Scratch Restaurants. The Montecito outpost earned a 2021 Michelin star, and Sushi by Scratch is also going strong at its locations in Encino and the SLS Beverly Hills. Lee keeps pushing harder at Encino’s Pasta | Bar, which has had a Michelin Star for five consecutive years and was featured in Apple TV’s Knife Edge series last year. (In 2025, Lee and his brother, Lennon, made history by becoming the first siblings to earn a Michelin star at different U.S. restaurants in the same year.)

And now he’s back in L.A. to remind his hometown that he’s also an ace at creating casual food. On Friday, Feb. 27, Lee and pro skateboarder Neen Williams will open NADC Burger’s first Los Angeles location in Westwood, near the UCLA campus.

NADC, which is short for Not a Damn Chance, is a wagyu burger spot that Lee and Williams already operate in Austin, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Denver, Charlotte and Nashville. The menu is straightforward and habit-forming, with double wagyu cheeseburgers and beef tallow fries.

The menu is composed of double wagyu cheeseburgers and beef tallow fries. Jake Ostrowski

NADC has become a viral, celebrity-friendly sensation, with clientele including David Beckham and Zedd. Jelly Roll, who has declared that NADC’s burger is the best he’s ever had, loves it so much that he serves the burger at his Goodnight Nashville honky-tonk. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck recently popped by NADC in Austin and also headed next door to Lee’s new Shokunin sushi restaurant.

“I think what sets us apart at NADC is that I run it like I run the line at Pasta or Sushi,” Lee tells Observer. “I put as much attention into every spec when we’re building the burger.”

There’s American cheese, secret sauce (a ketchup and mayonnaise base enhanced with Tabasco and some “little secret notes to make it extra umami”), onions, a generous amount of pickles and “slightly tamed” jalapeños that are boiled before they’re pickled. The beef is American wagyu with Japanese genetics. And when each 3-ounce patty comes off the griddle, it goes onto a resting rack with a 90-second timer so that the juices settle and excess grease drips off. This is precision-focused cooking that grew out of Lee’s backyard hangs with Williams.

Lee applied the same principles from his other restaurants to making the burgers at NADC. Jake Ostrowski

Like Jelly Roll, Zedd and Joe Rogan (who collaborated with NADC on a limited-edition burger in Austin last year), Williams was a guest at the counter of Sushi by Scratch when he met Lee.

“I was already a fan of his because I grew up skateboarding,” Lee says. “He was solo, and I always talk to everybody. He’s like, ‘Yeah, I like to cook.’ I’m like, ‘OK, cute.’ And then he shows me a picture of his backyard where he has a 12-foot masonry hearth that he built himself. I’m like, ‘Oh, you really cook.’”

Lee and Williams started hanging out a lot, skateboarding together, getting their wives together and cooking together.

“We did whole pigs and a lot of steaks over the fire,” Lee says. “And one thing we were doing often was burgers.”

Lee had recently returned from Bangkok, where he had been working on a sushi restaurant and a burger spot that never opened due to the pandemic. So he was in the mood to make burgers, and he and Williams started giving away burgers at Austin skateparks and comedy shows. That led to a 2022 pop-up and then, in 2023, NADC’s first brick-and-mortar location.

Jelly Roll, a huge fan of the NADC burger, was a guest on Lee and Williams’ ‘Not A Damn Chance!’ podcast. YMH Studios

The success of NADC has spawned the Not A Damn Chance! podcast, with Lee and Williams talking to guests like Jelly Roll, Zedd, Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, Mel Robbins, Aaron Franklin and poker pro Doug Polk. Lee is an avid poker player who’s done well in tournaments. And to use a gambling term, he’s been on some kind of rush, opening restaurant after restaurant.

Lee didn’t have any intention of moving to Austin when he went there in 2020 for a sushi pop-up. But after he saw that pop-up sell out with a 25,000-person waiting list, he kept it going month to month. After five months in Austin, Lee looked at his wife, pastry chef Margarita Kallas-Lee, and said, “I think we live in Austin now.”

Lee has built a new life in Texas, where he’s now working to create his most over-the-top project yet. He’s found four acres in Hill Country, about half an hour from Austin, where he plans to have a farm, inn and restaurant with aspirations at three-Michelin-star status and World’s 50 Best recognition.

“We will grow or harvest most of the menu and hunt the rest of the menu,” Lee says. “We’ll milk cows in the morning to get the cream to make butter. We’ll get dairy cows from a local farm and finish them on the grain of the local brewery and the mash of the local olive oil mill.”

Lee is nothing if not ambitious. In 2017, when he was 30 years old, he told me he wanted to have “100 world-class restaurants” by the time he was 50. The pandemic slowed him down a bit, but the L.A. location of NADC Burger puts him at 30 restaurants, and he still thinks he’ll hit his lofty goal.

“I’m the same age Thomas Keller was when he took over The French Laundry, and you could argue that was the beginning of his career,” Lee says. “I’m going to be 39 on March 9, so I’m still young. I think I’ll probably surpass 100 restaurants by the time I’m 50. But I don’t think I’m doing it for the same reasons that made me want to do it before.”

All the success he’s had has motivated him in a more meaningful way.

“I’ve now gotten the stars and the TV and the accolades and the personal freedom to feel like I’ve ‘done it,’” Lee says. “But I think I now get off on different things. It used to be more ego-driven. Now I look around and see someone who comes on as a prep cook, moves all the way into executive chef in our company, has a child and gets a fully paid paternity or maternity leave. They’re getting a 401(k). I have cooks and bartenders buying houses. The more I grow, the more we grow.”

NADC Burger, located at 1091 Broxton Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024, will be open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to midnight.

  • What Do Cruz and Romeo Beckham Think of Their Family Feud

    [ad_1]

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” wrote Brooklyn Beckham on Instagram. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” clarifying—once and for all—his position in a family rift that appears to have widened between the Beckhams’ eldest son and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. To those quick to blame Nicola Peltz, the actress Brooklyn has been married to since 2022, he countered that the prevailing narrative is exactly backwards. For most of his life, he said, it was his parents who shaped and managed his image: “All my life my parents have controlled the narratives in the press about our family. Performative posts on social media, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a constant in the life I was born into.”

As the drama spills into the open, attention has turned to how Brooklyn’s siblings are responding. In addition to their eldest, Victoria and David share three other children: Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper Seven, 14. While the youngest is, of course, too young to comment, the boys have not explicitly weighed in either—though subtle signals have not gone unnoticed.

Cruz, for his part, shared an Instagram story showing himself drinking a can of Guaraná, soundtracked by his mother’s 2001 single “Not Such an Innocent Girl.” The song—long remembered for its sultry undertones—includes lyrics that gesture toward duality and misperception. “First impressions can be wrong / So let me clear what’s going on / Baby, I’m not who you think I am,” Victoria sings in the opening verse. Whether Cruz intended the post as a nod to Brooklyn’s claim that the public version of their mother masks a more complicated reality—or as a cautionary message aimed at his brother—is open to interpretation. What is certain is that the song, from Victoria’s self-titled debut album, surged to the top of the U.K. streaming charts shortly afterward. Cruz later posted a second story, revealing what appears to be the title of an upcoming track of his own: “Lonelist Boy.” The implication—that he may be feeling isolated or adrift amid the family turmoil—was hard to miss.

Romeo, meanwhile, appears to be distancing himself from the feud altogether. He was photographed in Paris with his partner, DJ and model Kim Turnbull, attending a party at the Hôtel Costes during fashion week. Brooklyn, too, seems intent on projecting calm. Shortly after sharing his statement, he was photographed walking hand in hand with Peltz on a beach in Malibu, the couple strolling quietly with their dog.

As each of the Beckham children processes the rupture in their own way, Brooklyn’s words linger—perhaps as both explanation and warning—for Cruz, Romeo, and Harper alike: “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”

  • Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz’s Wedding DJ Has Something to Say, Too

    [ad_1]

    Photo: Steve Granitz/Getty Images

DJ Fat Tony, who slung the tunes for Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding to Nicola Peltz, is sharing his perspective on the wedding that launched a thousand Instagram Stories. Yes, DJ Fat Tony is breaking his silence. Since the wedding in April 2022, things have been strained between the eldest Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. On U.K. chat show This Morning, Tony said Victoria indeed did an “awkward” dance that “humiliated” Brooklyn, but it had nothing to do with Posh’s dance moves. “There was no slut-dropping,” Fat Tony said, “there was no PVC cat suit, no Spice Girl action.” Instead, the thing that humiliated Brooklyn was the way Victoria allegedly turned the couple’s first dance into a mother-son Latin number.

According to the DJ, the “timing” of Victoria Beckham’s dance was what was inappropriate, not the moves. “Mark Anthony asks ‘the most beautiful woman in the room’ to come to the stage,” says DJ Fat Tony. This was the moment which had previously been Peltz’s cue to have her first dance with Brooklyn. But Anthony allegedly switched it up: “Then he says ‘Victoria, come to the stage.” Victoria then went on stage and danced “a Latin thing” with her son. “At this point, Brooklyn is literally devastated,” DJ Fat Tony says, “because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife. Then Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out.” This lines up pretty well with what Brooklyn Beckham said in his lengthy statement on Instagram Stories, seemingly going no contact with his parents permanently.

DJ Fat Tony DJ’d the welcome party, the reception, and the brunch the morning after, which he says was the most awkward of all because “everything that had gone on the actual wedding night was discussed amongst all the guests the next morning.” Since that weekend, Brooklyn Beckham has been in a cold war with his parents. He claims the Beckhams have only wanted to reconcile in public, social media-friendly ways, refusing to see the Peltz-Beckhams during David’s 50th birthday weekend unless they attended his highly-photographed birthday party. Brooklyn says he was blocked by his family on social media, while Cruz Beckham said Brooklyn was the one doing the blocking.

Circling back to the phrase “slut-dropping,” this is a U.K. term for getting low à la Atusko Okatsuka’s Beyoncé drop challenge. Here’s comedian Nish Kumar demonstrating the slut-drop to the best of his ability on The Jonathan Ross Show:

  • Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones pick a side in Beckham family feud: ‘Not nice’

    [ad_1]

Jenna Bush Hager and her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, have weighed in on the dramatic family feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which reached an explosive turning point on Monday when the 26-year-old released a statement on their rift.

Brooklyn took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement in which he claimed his parents were controlling and “consistently disrespected” his wife, Nicola Peltz.

On Tuesday’s episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, the pair shared their thoughts on the drama that has captured the internet, revealing that they stood firmly with David and Victoria. “Yesterday afternoon in a six-page Instagram story post, [Brooklyn] wrote in part, ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family,’” Jenna began.

“I’m almost nice to a fault,” her co-star chimed in. “But in this case, I actually feel like it’s not nice of [Brooklyn]. I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.”

“I don’t care if it’s true or not. But at the end of the day, to put your parents’ laundry out therewe don’t need to know whatever’s happening.”

“You are where you are because of the work that they’ve done. Maybe I’m speaking as a mom,” Sheinelle continued, adding that Victoria was “doing the best [she] can.” Jenna agreed, explaining that she took issue with him airing out his parents’ dirty laundry online. “That’s the part that feels sort of hypocritical,” she said, adding that David and Victoria must be “heartbroken”.

“Whether it’s true or not, it’s just…do we need to know about it?” Sheinelle queried. “In the 26 years I’ve been in this business, I don’t think I’ve ever given an opinion, and this is the first time where I’m like, ‘I’m Team Mom.’ I have a soft spot for parents because it’s not easy.”

Brooklyn’s incendiary comments come almost a year after speculation of a family feud was sparked, with fans noticing his absence from family photos and events. In his statement, the eldest Beckham son cited several examples of why his relationship with David and Victoria had crumbled, including multiple incidents from his wedding to Nicola in 2022.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he wrote.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he continued. “My mom cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

He added that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola by stepping in for the special moment, and claimed that she “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone”. The Beckham camp has yet to comment on the  statement, which also accused them of being obsessed with their public image, yet their youngest son, Cruz, was the first to return to social media after the post.

In his Instagram stories, the 20-year-old shared some behind-the-scenes moments from a session with his band in a studio. While the clip did not contain a caption or a comment on the family feud, it marked a brush-off of Brooklyn’s statement.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, the eldest son of Victoria and soccer star David Beckham, broke his silence on a long-rumoured family feud and revealed he does “not want to reconcile” with his celebrity parents.

In a series of six Instagram Stories posted Monday, Peltz Beckham shared a lengthy statement in which he accused his parents of attempting to “ruin” his marriage to actor Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Rumours of a dispute between the couple and their estranged son, Peltz Beckham — who adopted a hyphenated surname following his wedding — have been making headlines for several years.

    Brooklyn Beckham’s statement

In his statement, Peltz Beckham said he has remained “silent for years” and has made “every effort to keep these matters private” before sharing instances that seemingly contributed to the alleged clash between him and his parents.

“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Peltz Beckham began.

Peltz Beckham, 26, told his 16.3 million Instagram followers he does “not want to reconcile with my family.”

“I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote. “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”

He said that he has recently “seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”

“But I believe the truth always comes out. My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he further claimed. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

Peltz Beckham alleged that, weeks before his wedding day, his parents “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my life, and our future children.”

“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,” he wrote.

“During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.”

Peltz Beckham said the night before his wedding, members of his family told him that “Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’”

“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders. Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer,” he added.

Peltz Beckham claimed his mother, Victoria, 51, who first gained fame in the ’90s pop group Spice Girls, “hijacked” his first dance with his wife at his wedding and danced “very inappropriately” on him.

“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he wrote. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” he continued. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

He also alleged that his wife has been “consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one.”

“My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable,” Peltz Beckham wrote.

He went on to discuss his father’s 50th birthday celebration in May 2025 at the family’s Cotswolds home and London’s Core restaurant. Pictures published by U.K. tabloid Daily Mail show Beckham with his wife and children, Harper, 14, Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 23, but Peltz Beckham and Nicola are noticeably absent.

Peltz Beckham said they had travelled to London to celebrate his dad’s birthday but claims they were “rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.”

“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he wrote. “When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.”

Peltz Beckham claimed that his family only cares about their “brand.”

“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations,” he wrote.

He continued, “We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family!’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”

Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz wedding dress drama

In 2022, there were reports from various celebrity sites that Nicola had refused to wear one of Victoria’s designs for her wedding.

    Story continues below advertisement

Nicola, 31, instead wore a Valentino haute couture gown for her wedding ceremony in April 2022. Her stylist, Leslie Fremar, told British Vogue that creating the dress was the “ultimate couture experience” and said that it had been many months in the making.

Fremar also said there were visits to the Valentino headquarters in Rome, where they worked with the brand’s creative director, Pierpaolo Picciloi.

Nicola previously told The Sunday Times that Victoria had realized her atelier could not finish her wedding dress in time and denied there was any fallout between the two.

“She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that,” she told Variety in an interview about the alleged quarrel in August 2022.

    Story continues below advertisement

In March 2023, Nicola once again denied any type of “feud” between herself and her mother-in-law during an interview with Cosmopolitan.

“I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud,” Nicola said. “It’s really weird, actually, whether it’s my life or someone else’s life or whatever, when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong.”

Beckham brothers unfollow each other on social media

In April 2025, TMZ first reported that Peltz Beckham was not on speaking terms with his brother, Romeo.

The outlet said that Peltz Beckham was upset with Romeo after he began dating Kim Turnbull, with whom Peltz Beckham reportedly had a “romantic connection” with years prior.

    Story continues below advertisement

Turnbull addressed the rumours in June, posting a statement on her Instagram Stories.

“I have never been romantically involved in any capacity at any point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16,” she wrote. “I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation and set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”

By July, the Beckham brothers no longer followed each other on Instagram following an alleged rift.

In his Instagram statement, Peltz Beckham claimed that it was his brothers who “blocked” him.

    Story continues below advertisement

Cruz Beckham, 20, previously shut down claims that his parents unfollowed his brother on Instagram.

In December, he said they would “never unfollow their son,” in response to a Daily Mail story claiming that they did.

“Not true. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right,” Cruz wrote, adding, “They woke up blocked as I did.”

Brooklyn and Nicola renew vows without Beckham family

Peltz Beckham and Nicola renewed their wedding vows in August 2025 in a ceremony at New York’s Westchester County.

    Story continues below advertisement

Nicola also shared a post showing some family members at the intimate ceremony, including her brother Bradley Pelts and her parents, Claudia and Nelson Peltz, who officiated the ceremony.

Beckham and Victoria were vacationing in St. Tropez with their other children while Peltz Beckham renewed his vows.

What has the family said in response?

On Monday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, David Beckham dodged a question from Sky News about Peltz Beckham’s Instagram posts.

The soccer star joined CNBC’s Squawk Box on Tuesday and said that he has tried to “educate” his children on the positives and negatives of social media.

    Story continues below advertisement

“I’ve been able to use my platform and following for UNICEF and it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children,” said Beckham, a goodwill ambassador for the organization.

“I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them, they make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes, that’s how they learn … but you know you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well,” he added.

Beckham did not speak directly about his estranged son’s bombshell statement, but People reports that his former assistant Rebecca Loos reacted to the news in a series of comments on her latest post.

One of Loos’ followers wrote, “Rebecca, you gotta see the awesome ditch Brooklyn just posted in his story about David and Victoria and their lies. I feel like Brooklyn is supporting everyone who knows the facade.”

Loos replied: “So happy he is standing up for himself and speaking publicly finally!!!! I have felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing too well what they can be like!”

Victoria Beckham has not publicly responded to her son’s statements as of this writing.

  • Brooklyn Beckham Just Took On Years of Rumor and Speculation, In Six Shocking Instagram Stories

    [ad_1]

What followed was a remarkable refutation of the Beckham family narrative—one that inverted years of tabloid shorthand. Brooklyn alleged that the much-discussed wedding dress controversy had been misunderstood: that Victoria Beckham had initially offered to design Nicola’s gown, only to cancel late in the process, despite Nicola’s enthusiasm about wearing it. And, he confirmed the rumor of Victoria “hijack[ing] my first dance with my wife,” serenaded by Marc Anthony. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” recalls Beckham, saying “I never felt more humiliated in my life.”

According to Brooklyn, an even deeper rupture stemmed from a dispute over branding—specifically, his refusal to “sign the rights away” to his own name. According to Brooklyn’s posts, that decision impacted a larger family business arrangement, and with it, how he was treated thereafter. “My holdout affected the payday,” he wrote, later stating plainly that “Brand Beckham comes first.”

“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else,” he writes. “Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media.” Yet, even after attending “every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show our perfect family,” Brooklyn alleges that “the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”

There were other details, more intimate and unsettling. He claimed that women from his past were repeatedly invited into family gatherings in ways that made both him and Nicola uncomfortable. He said his parents had refused to see them, while privately and publicly feeding stories to the press—sometimes, he alleged, enlisting his own siblings to attack him on social media.

Perhaps most striking was Brooklyn’s rejection of the dominant narrative about Nicola’s influence. “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he wrote. “I’ve been controlled by my parents for my entire life.”

Representatives for Brooklyn Beckham and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair. This is a developing story.

Brooklyn and Nicola have been feuding with the Beckhams for some time. The 26-year-old seemingly blocked the Beckhams on Instagram just days before Christmas.

Brooklyn spends Christmas away from the Beckhams amid feud

Taking to Instagram last night (Friday, December 26), Brooklyn and Nicola shared some pictures from their Christmas Day celebrations in the US.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, were seen posing for pictures in front of their Christmas tree whilst wearing matching pyjamas and smiling with Nicola’s parents, Nelson and Claudia.

“We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year filled with so much love, peace, and happiness,” Nicola then captioned the post, which was also shared to Brooklyn’s Instagram.

It marks a stark contrast for Brooklyn from last year, when the couple spent Christmas with the Beckhams.

Meanwhile, Victoria made a point of saying how good a father David is by sharing some pictures from their family Christmas.

The couple spent Christmas alongside their children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, as well as Victoria’s parents, Jackie and Anthony, and David’s mum, Sandra.

Victoria shared several videos and pictures on her story of the festive celebrations. One video showed Victoria and dad Anthony dancing together.

“Making memories,” Victoria captioned the clip.

Another video then showed David dancing to Islands in the Stream with his daughter, Harper.

As the lyrics, “we rely on each other”, were heard, the father and daughter duo shared a hug.

“Truly the best daddy,” Victoria captioned the video.

    Brooklyn blocks the Beckhams

The Beckhams’ family Christmas comes just days after Brooklyn blocked them all on Instagram.

Cruz Beckham hit back at claims that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn by sharing a news story about it on his Instagram story.

“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son…Let’s get facts right,” he wrote.

“They woke up blocked… as did I.”

However, the reported “real” reason why Brooklyn has blocked his family has been revealed.

A source alleged to The Sun that Brooklyn blocked his family after Victoria liked one of his posts. His comment section was then flooded with comments from followers urging Brooklyn to make up with his family. Brooklyn is believed to have got annoyed with his mum’s public display of affection and hit the block button.

“David and Victoria are understandably heartbroken by what’s gone on here. This came out of the blue for them. And in the lead-up to Christmas, when families are supposed to come together, it’s devastating,” a source then claimed.

  • Brooklyn Beckham appears to cut ties with parents David and Victoria amid ongoing feud

    [ad_1]

Brooklyn Beckham appears to have further distanced himself from his parents David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, amid reports of ongoing family tensions.

In a noticeable social media shift, Brooklyn has unfollowed both of his parents on Instagram, with David and Victoria no longer following their eldest son in return. While Brooklyn is understood to have been estranged from his parents for much of the year, he had continued to follow them online until December 20.

The move comes just weeks after there appeared to be tentative signs of reconciliation. Most notably, Victoria shared a message on her Instagram Stories revealing that her mother had put up a Christmas stocking for Brooklyn, a gesture many fans interpreted as an olive branch. However, despite the public show of warmth, Brooklyn has now seemingly removed his parents from his social media feed.

It marks the most visible indication yet that communication between Brooklyn and his parents remains strained. His wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, also does not follow David or Victoria on Instagram, and they no longer follow her either.

Brooklyn and Nicola were spotted arriving in Miami earlier this week, where the couple are believed to be spending Christmas with Nicola’s family. The hot sauce entrepreneur shared a relaxed photo alongside Nicola’s brother, Bradley, in the garden of the family’s Palm Beach mansion.

In recent weeks, David appeared to reach out publicly by sharing a nostalgic throwback photo of himself with Brooklyn and his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz, a post many saw as an attempt to bridge the divide.

Cruz also made a subtle gesture of support, sharing a sweet beachside snap from Brazil featuring himself, Brooklyn and Romeo. In the image, Brooklyn is seen wrapping an arm around his youngest brother, offering a rare glimpse of closeness amid the reported tensions.

Cruz’s public displays of brotherly solidarity come as the Beckhams anticipate Christmas without Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz. They are expected to celebrate with her family in Florida, while the rest of the Beckhams will spend the festive season in the UK.

David received a Knighthood earlier this year

Last week, David, 50, admitted he wanted to “cry” as he posted a picture of his estranged son Brooklyn – along with the rest of his children, including 14-year-old daughter Harper – shortly after his MLS Cup Final triumph. He shared a family snap taken at the pivotal game earlier in the month while holding the trophy his football team Inter Miami CF had just won.

This was positioned next to a photo of the night he won the MLS Cup Final in 2012 while still a professional player for team LA Galaxy. In the throwback photo, the then 37-year-old sportsman held up a UK flag while posing behind his young sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz. He captioned the compilation: “License to cry.”

While the family has not commented publicly on the situation, fans continue to hope that time and distance may help heal the rift – particularly during the traditionally reflective Christmas period.

  • Victoria Beckham Confesses to a Fashion Faux Pas

    [ad_1]

Fake it until you make it. This mantra, popularized by the culture of personal development on social media, was already being applied by Victoria Beckham in the early 2000s. This Wednesday, in an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the designer was as comfortable as she was amused. On the pink armchair, the former Spice Girl sets herself free: each anecdote is more sincere, more piquant, more unexpected than the last.

Commenting on archival photos selected by the host, the Englishwoman paused on a photo of herself with husband David Beckham in the streets of London. In it, she wears an immaculate outfit and a Louis Vuitton bag that matches perfectly… or almost perfectly.

“It wasn’t a real Louis Vuitton bag,” she confessed. “We were shopping on Bond Street, and it was a fake.”

Marc Jacobs, the house’s artistic director at the time, contacted me after seeing the photo. He said, ‘I’ll send you a real one.’” Mischievously, she concluded with a pun on her long-ago nickname: “Not as posh as you think, Alex. Not all the time.”

Who could have imagined that Victoria’s bag was a counterfeit? At the time, no one would have dared. She was a Spice Girl, the wife of the world’s most famous footballer—the epitome of luxury and status. The story, then, reminds us that how people perceive us is often a question of looks, confidence, and what you project.

In the end, the anecdote speaks volumes about Victoria’s trajectory. By wearing the fake, she ended up invoking the real—and it worked. Since then, Victoria Beckham has built an empire at the helm of one of Britain’s most respected fashion houses. It seems almost unreal to think that the accomplished businesswoman she has become once felt the need for a fake bag to exist in conversation. And if we had to sum up her career, another mantra might be: Trust the process.

  • Victoria Beckham Is Done Proving Herself: “I’ve Earned My Right to Show in Paris”

    [ad_1]

Andy Cohen, Victoria Beckham, and John Arthur HillHippolyte Petit

They weren’t the only Beckhams in attendance. Victoria’s longtime husband, David Beckham—perhaps the most famous footballer of all time as well as the co-owner of soccer clubs in both the US and the UK—was also there to support his wife, carrying what looked like three large canvas bags filled with gifts she’d received from other attendees and sitting front row at the event. While he was clearly chuffed to celebrate the mother of their four children—Brooklyn, 26; Romeo, 23; Cruz, 20; and Harper, 14; none of whom were in attendance—he kept his thoughts about the evening close to his chest: When asked about the doc, he replied, “Ask my wife—you’re better off with her.”

Victoria had plenty to say when the main event began. After opening remarks from Wintour, who appears in the docuseries looking, as she joked, like Beckham’s “mad old aunt,” Beckham spoke with Guiducci about her rough post–Spice Girls era, her reinvention as a fashion designer, and most candidly, her yearslong struggle with an eating disorder.

“When I was a youngster, and your body’s changing and you’re going through puberty, it’s a really difficult time,” Beckham told Guiducci. “I was bullied a lot mentally and physically when I was at school.” While attending theater college before joining the Spice Girls, “I was constantly told by the staff at the dancing school that I was fat,” says Beckham. “I was at an age—it is an impressionable age, and it’s confusing and it’s hurtful.” When she joined one of the most successful girl groups of all time and married the most famous footballer in the world, she found herself living under a microscope. “I’ve never complained, and I’m not complaining about it. It is a very different time now,” Beckham said. “You couldn’t get away with weighing someone on television six months after they’ve had a baby, literally.”

To do so, Victoria says she transformed into “a simpler, more elegant version of myself” and debuted her first collection—10 dresses shown in a Waldorf-Astoria hotel suite—sans David, to eliminate any distraction. After earning rave reviews, Victoria gained a foothold in the fashion industry. But despite the professional respect, financial strain crept in. David was “investing a lot” in her business, and “we were tens of millions of pounds in the red,” Victoria explains in the documentary.

“I was panicked by it. Because I never saw anything coming back,” David says of his investment in the business. “We always agreed that we would support each other no matter what, but it worried me. This isn’t sustainable.”

Though her business recovered, the scars of that experience remained. But in the new series, David makes it clear to Victoria that he’ll support her no matter what she does. “You are so driven, so passionate, dedicated,” he tells her in the documentary, growing teary-eyed. “It makes me quite emotional because you are always trying to prove yourself to people. But who are you trying to prove it to?”

“Maybe to you,” Victoria replies, wiping away a tear. “Of course, I feel bad. About all those times I’ve had to ask you to bail me out. When I saw your face and the kids’ faces [during her Paris fashion show], I saw for the first time how proud of me you were.”

“You could make a cheese sandwich, and we’d be proud of you,” David replies.

“Actually, I couldn’t,” she laughs, to which he responds, “I know.”

From her showgirl past in the most mythical girl group of the turn of the century to her status as England’s most famous WAG and the launch of her flourishing fashion and beauty business. Harper Beckham is celebrating her 13th birthday today and proud parents David and Victoria have shared messages for their daughter.

Harper is former footballer David and fashion designer Victoria’s youngest child. They have three older sons – Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 19.

Over the years, Harper has enjoyed some lavish birthday celebrations. But one in particular sparked some backlash from people online.

For her sixth birthday in 2017, Harper celebrated at Buckingham Palace. The little girl partied with her pals alongside Princess Eugenie.

At the time, David, 49, shared photos from the bash on the palace grounds. He wrote on Instagram: “Happy Birthday to our special little young lady. Such a special girl who brings so much joy and happiness into our lives..

“Happy 6th birthday (I can’t believe you’re 6 already) have the most amazing day we love you pretty lady.”

However, the post sparked some backlash from trolls.

Even royal experts offered their opinions, with former palace press secretary Dickie Arbiter telling Sky News: “None of them has got a right to be there.

“Is it being opened up as a theme park? It devalues what the place is all about. Why do the Beckhams get special treatment?”

David defended the visit, saying on Instagram at the time: “Just to be clear this wasn’t the palace opening the gates for Harper’s birthday party, this was a tea party where us and other guests were invited so it was a beautiful thing to do with my mum, Harper plus a few school friends. We were honoured to be able to there… Beautiful tea party.”

David wrote on Instagram: “Happy 13th Birthday to my beautiful little girl. Daddy is so proud of you, you have grown up to be a kind, generous and a beautiful young lady with the most amazing heart and the most amazing smile that we all love so so much. • David Beckham and King Charles are Beekeeping Buddies

David Beckham and King Charles are Beekeeping Buddies

    [ad_1]

Fans of the sustainability-focused charity the King’s Foundation are abuzz this weekend, after retired soccer great David Beckham was announced as its latest ambassador. All it took was a royal conversation about the birds and the bees.

Beckham, whose wife Victoria Beckham has transitioned from Spice Girls stardom to life as a well-respected fashion designer, retired as a player in 2013. Since then, he’s dabbled in team ownership, gotten additional tattoos, and filmed himself doing partially clothed push-ups. As documented on his Instagram account, he’s also become a bit of of a beekeeper.

The athlete is confident enough in his bee care duties that at a meet and greet last year, David Beckham presented King Charles III with a pot of homegrown honey. “I made some honey for you. It comes from my bees in Oxfordshire,” said the footballer to the King.

“Really?” Charles responded “Well, I’ll have to swap it with the one that I do.”

That’s right, the King also makes his own honey, as he tends the bees at at his Highgrove House country home in Tetbury. According to the royal family’s official website, Clarence House is also home to two beehives, and Buckingham Palace boasts four. (You might recall those colonies from the headlines of fall, 2022, when palace beekeeper John Chapple informed both groups that Queen Elizabeth II had died.)

One wonders if last year’s honey swap created a sticky bond between the two, ad the pair came together again last month at Highgrove Gardens, a statement from the King’s Foundation reads. After Beckham saw “first-hand the charity’s impactful education programmes that take place at specialist workshops on site,” the athlete decided to partner with Charles’s charity, which seeks to fight the climate and natural resource crisis through education and training.

“I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work,” Beckham said in a statement. “I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”

“Having developed a love for the countryside I’m also on a personal mission to learn more about rural skills which is so central to the Foundation’s work. It was inspiring to hear from The King about the work of His Majesty’s Foundation during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens – and compare beekeeping tips!”

Beckham is actively hoping to be offered a knighthood, reports the Mirror, so an appointment like this could help move that aspiration forward. Meanwhile, an affiliation with the celebrity could help rehab the King’s Foundation’s image after a 2021 “cash-for-access” scandal. According to a report by the Guardian, a representative of the group—then known as The Prince’s Foundation—was offering dinners with Charles in exchange for hefty donations. Charles was reportedly unaware of the alleged scheme, and after an investigation, Metropolitan police declined to take action.

This weekend’s announcement adds The King’s Foundation to Beckham’s already-long list of promotional partnerships. The celebrity was also announced as the global ambassador for Alibaba-owned e-commerce platform AliExpress last week. According to the Guardian, “He is also an ambassador for Tudor watches, Tempur mattresses, Unicef, and Nespresso coffee machines, and he also fronts a Walkers crisps ad.”

“It’s important to evolve and try new things,” Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham said in an interview on the eve of her landmark birthday celebrations. And while that’s probably true, the pop icon turned fashion designer is in the news today for a weekend act of nostalgia—a reunion with the band that made her a household name.

Beckham, who turned 50 last Wednesday, hosted a star-studded shindig Saturday in honor of the occasion. Held at Oswald’s, a members-only club in London known for visits by Prince William, Joan Collins, and Boris Johnson, guests including Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, Salma Hayek, and Jason Statham, People reports.

Perhaps most thrillingly, Beckham’s co-Spice Girls were all in attendance: Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, Melanie Janine Brown (also known as “Mel B” or “Scary Spice”), Melanie Jayne Chisholm (that’s Mel C/Sporty Spice), and Geri “Ginger Spice” Horner (née Halliwell).

It’s hard to imagine that all five of the members of the group that provided the basic soundtrack of the 1990s haven’t gathered in private over the years—after all, as the song goes, “friendship never ends.” But the group hasn’t publicly performed together since 2012, when they reunited for the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. Beckham did not participate in the band’s 2019 reunion tour, saying then that “it just didn’t feel like the right thing to do.”

Fans hopeful that the group will again take the stage will probably have to wait a bit longer, though. In an interview with the most recent edition of The Sunday Times, Beckham seems most focused on a new line she’s designed for the fast fashion brand Mango. But her remarks came before last night’s party, where she joined her bandmates in a singalong to “Stop,” one of the Spice Girls’ second-album singles.

The performance was captured by Posh’s spouse and retired footballer David Beckham, who posted the seemingly spontaneous show to his Instagram. The Spice Girls were sans microphones, so we can’t evaluate their voices—but it’s clear that they still recall the choreography to a quarter-century-old song, which is worthy of praise. And Posh was dancing while in a fracture boot, as she’s still recovering from a February gym mishap during which she broke her foot. Now that’s a commitment to presentation.

“I mean come on,” Beckham captioned his post, on which he tagged his wife’s former colleagues. “Sooo fun!” Longoria added in the post’s comments. Posh also shared her husband’s video of the mini-show, captioning it “Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much!”

The party might be a taste of things to come, if recent remarks made by Brown are any indication. In an appearance on Today earlier this month, Brown said that “us five are working on something that is going to be announced soon,” and told another show, Loose Women, “we are definitely doing something” (but didn’t way what).

Beckham didn’t allude to any reunions when she spoke to the Times, but she didn’t rule anything out, either. “I’m excited about the future,” she said. “The thing with aging is that it is what it is … generally I feel good about things. I have better opportunities now than I did when I was younger.”

And we had a meeting with him, and I said, ‘Look, I know Leo’s not ready now, but I want your son to play for my club in the future.’ So, fast forward five years. We knew that month that there was a decision to be made, because Leo had announced that he was leaving PSG. So, four or five A.M. in Japan, and I’m in bed, and my phone keeps buzzing and buzzing and buzzing … I then see, ‘Leo Messi has decided to come to Miami.’ And I get goosebumps now. I sit up in my bed, and I start crying.”

Britney Spears and Jada Pinkett Smith demonstrate the delicate dance of the celeb memoir | CNN

    CNN
     —

Would you want to revisit your life and your past in order to share it all, both the good and the bad?

I certainly wouldn’t, but I’m not famous nor do I have famous people problems (knock on wood). Being a celebrity is something many people dream about, but while the riches certainly make life more comfortable, what comes a long with it probably isn’t what most of us would want.

    Let’s talk about it.

Both Britney Spears and Jada Pinkett Smith grasp the concept that drama sells.

Before their memoirs – Spears’ book is titled “The Woman in Me” and Pinkett Smith’s is “Worthy” – were recently released, there were plenty of tabloid treats from them teased throughout the media landscape.

The two biggest revelations from the stars’ tomes both happened to involve their celebrity relationships.

Spears shared that she had an abortion during her time with Justin Timberlake in the early aughts, while Pinkett Smith went public with the news that she and Will Smith have been living separate lives since 2016.

While both of these revelations sparked conversation, they also showed how there’s a delicate dance when it comes to the art of publishing a celebrity tell-all.

On the one hand, you have to share enough to get people excited for the book. Yet at the same time you don’t want to reveal too much, because then what is the incentive to purchase said book?

It should be said, though, that both Spears and Pinkett Smith are most probably used to a lot of attention by now.

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham in 2004.

Another instance of a star laying it all out there for public consumption is the “Beckham” docuseries on Netflix.

I am far from a soccer fan, but I greatly enjoyed visiting the highs – and lows – of David Beckham’s stellar career. The series is really well done and filmmaker Fisher Stevens got both Beckham and his wife, Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham, to open up about difficult times.

One of those tough times featured in the doc is the decades-old alleged affair between David Beckham and his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos.

In a recent interview, Loos complained that Beckham was portraying “himself as a victim” in the series. That’s another tricky area when it comes to celebs telling their life stories – it affects others who were also there, and who are portrayed via the star’s lens and recollections.

    Taylor Swift performs during the

At this point I am aiming to see how many newsletters in a row I can talk about Taylor Swift.

This time it’s the fact that she’s dropping “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” Swift’s latest rerecording of her old music after losing her masters.

Yes, much of the recent attention paid to Swift has more to do with her love life than her love of music, but if you know Swift you know that there is a direct correlation between the two.

I don’t even have to sell it here because it’s Taylor Swift, the star of the moment, and her music. Enough said – except that the new(ish) album debuted Friday.

    Fabrice Morvan attends the

Reader you know it’s true – Milli Vanilli was the duo to beat back in the day. Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan had hits in the late 1980s/early 1990s and were flying high in the music industry.

    Until they weren’t.

A new self-titled documentary traces their rise and eventual fall when the world learned they weren’t actually singing on those songs. It’s a more tender look at the pair than one might expect, given the vitriol that was spewed about the controversy at the time which resulted in their best new artist Grammy being revoked.

The “Milli Vanilli” documentary is streaming on Paramount+.
