    The Mega Millions winner who won a $90 million jackpot during the Dec. 2 drawing didn’t waste much time deliberating how to receive his life-changing funds.

    Mega Millions reports that a man walked into a New Jersey Lottery office just days after his ticket matched the winning numbers of 17, 25, 26, 53, 60, and the gold Mega Ball 16.

    While the winner wished to remain anonymous, he shared some interesting details about what had preempted his Mega Millions win.

    I was up (the night of the drawing). Hoping for something. Then, whomp, a bird hit my window,” the newly minted multimillionaire told lottery officials. “I knew something was coming for me, but I didn’t know just what.”

    “I played some of my numbers for Pick-4. Nothing,” the player said, explaining his winless streak prompted him to try his luck on Mega Millions, a jackpot that comes with odds of 1 in 290.47 million.

    “I finished work, and I came in and played the Mega and used all of my numbers,” the winner said.

    The New Jersey man opted for the one-time cash option of $41.9 million. After federal and state taxes, the payout came to about $24 million. 

    Powerball Hits $1 Billion

    Tonight’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $1 billion, with the cash value at $457.7 million. The jackpot ranks as the seventh-largest in Powerball history.

    The current Powerball run has endured 41 drawings without a jackpot hit. If the jackpot isn’t won tonight, the run will set a new record for the longest Powerball drought.

    The streak also makes history by marking the first back-to-back jackpot of more than $1 billion in any US lottery game’s history.

    Portnoy Slings Jackpocket Following Michigan Man Meltdown

    Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took time out of his Michigan Man meltdown on X to shill Jackpocket, DraftKings’ courier service that allows users to purchase lottery tickets online in 15 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico.

    Portnoy, on a quick break from being hysterical about the scandal surrounding Michigan’s former football coach, Sherrone Moore, told his 3.7 million X followers how to get a free Powerball play for tonight’s $1 billion jackpot.

    “It’s jackpot season. We teamed up with Jackpocket, the best way to download lottery tickets right on your phone,” Portnoy said. “I’m paying attention, Powerball, Mega Millions, these jackpots are going to the moon.”

    Dave Portnoy is expanding his real estate presence with a new Florida Keys residence, and breaking records while doing it.

    The unapologetic internet personality and Barstool Sports founder purchased an Islamorada mansion this week for $27,750,000, the highest property sale the village has ever seen. 

    Located at 76180 Overseas Highway, the home has eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and a total 7,562 square feet across a main residence and a guest house. 

    The estate sits on 1.65 acres of waterfront land, and it comes with two pools, a private beach, a boat ramp and dock, an outdoor kitchen and 150 feet of private water access, per the listing. Inside, there are two laundry rooms, an elevator, a 180-bottle glass wine cellar, Sonos sound system and more.

    There are also two gated driveways, a four-car garage and lots of tropical landscaping. 

    Portnoy, 48, already owned more than $95 million worth of real estate in both Florida and other areas like Montauk, Nantucket and Saratoga Springs. He also is the owner of a $14 million home in Miami.

    Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said he nearly had his Castaway moment after he and his boat were almost “lost to the ocean” on Monday.

    In a social media video, Portnoy said he was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after he became stranded on his boat without power, radio or an anchor while attempting to set sail in Nantucket, Mass.

    The business mogul, who calls himself “Captain Dave” in the clip, said he wanted to take his mother on a boat ride, but realized only after untethering the vessel that the engine had no power.

    “Captain Dave was almost lost to the ocean, Mother Ocean,” Portnoy detailed in a dramatic monologue. “No power, no radio, no anchor, no nothing. Heavy, heavy winds. Next thing you know Captain Dave is lost at sea.”

    Portnoy, 47, admitted to being “a relatively new boater,” and said he forgot to check the boat’s power before unhooking the buoys.

    He said he had to try not to crash into other ships in the harbour while the wind pushed his boat farther and farther out from shore. Portnoy shot a flare gun into the sky to call for help but said none arrived.

    “I was clearly at this point exasperated, sunburned — it was like Tom Hanks in Castaway,” he said.

    Finally, as Portnoy was calling out for help, a woman in a rowboat approached the vessel. The woman, who Portnoy said recognized him, climbed onboard and used a radio to call the U.S. Coast Guard.

    Portnoy described “four burly dudes” from the coast guard coming to his rescue. The officials towed his boat back to the harbour, with Portnoy safe and sound.

    “Captain Dave lives to tell another tale,” he said, winding down his nautical story.

    Portnoy was obviously glad to be on dry land again and joked, “Captain Dave may never go on the boat again.”

    In an official statement to WFXT in Boston, coast guard officials said they received a report of a 28-foot pleasure boat in need of rescue.

    “We are glad that he used distressed signals and applaud the Good Samaritan for having a VHF radio ready to hail the Coast Guard,” the spokesperson said.

    On X, the First Coast Guard District of Boston, Massachusetts encouraged Portnoy to “boat safe” and wished well to his internet-famous dog, Miss Peaches.
