Harry Jowsey Dresses Up as Tree Trunk on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Tour

It’s one thing to own your criticism and grow from it. It’s another to literally become that criticism.

Harry Jowsey dressed up as a tree trunk on the Dancing With the Stars tour this week, showing his new outfit in a TikTok video posted Thursday, February 29.

The fit is a tribute to the harsh insult DWTS guest judge Billy Porter gave him last November, saying of Jowsey and his dance with Rylee Arnold, “You can loosen up a little bit and you can challenge yourself to do more steps now, and not just be a tree trunk for her to use and abuse.”

Jowsey, 26, seemed to own it right away, immediately commenting “#teamtreetrunk” on the show’s Instagram account the week of the episode. He’s also sported a T-shirt on his own Instagram that simply reads, “Tree Trunk.”

Rylee Arnold isn’t the first family member — let alone sibling — of a Dancing With the Stars pro to enter the ballroom. Julianne Hough was the first dancer to face off against her brother, Derek Hough, in the competition. After Julianne got her start on the series in season 4 in 2007, she was […]

This time, rather than a shirt, Jowsey has opted for some more arboreal flair on stage. As the tour moves through Texas — they’re in Grand Prairie, Sugar Land and Midland this weekend — Jowsey seems all-in on his new nickname. The costume appears to be a simple brown onesie designed to look like the bark of a tree, with a pointed brown cap and leaves coming off the top. In the TikTok, Jowsey is also holding a small, leafy branch, just in case anyone missed the reference.

This isn’t the first time that Jowsey has made headlines on the Dancing With the Stars tour. Earlier last month, he bizarrely ran off the stage during a show in Clearwater, Florida, after a solo performance with Arnold, 18. She later posted a video explaining what happened, making it clear that Jowsey actually became confused and forgot what he was supposed to do next. Instead of adjusting, he admitted he ran off the stage.

Still, he’s not one to lack confidence, and the Too Hot to Handle season 1 contestant has made it a habit to clap back at his critics. After some Dancing With the Stars fans alleged the show was rigged in his favor, Jowsey posted a smiling photo of himself driving his car with the top down via Instagram. The caption read, “Winners focus on winning and losers focus on winners.”

Jowsey and Arnold ultimately placed sixth on the show’s 32nd season, which actress Xochitl Gomez and her professional partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, eventually won.

Porter hasn’t responded to the tree trunk costume yet, but perhaps that is because he’s … stumped.

  • Val Chmerkovskiy Is 'Not Retiring' From 'DWTS' After Season 32 Win

Val Chmerkovskiy Is 'Not Retiring' From 'DWTS' After Season 32 Win

    [ad_1]

Val Chmerkovskiy is shutting down the rumors of his potential retirement from Dancing With the Stars.

Chmerkovskiy, 37, and wife Jenna Johnson fielded questions from social media users on Saturday, December 9. One fan even asked if the reigning mirrorball champ would return for DWTS season 33.

“This is so funny. We have had so many people ask us, well ask Val, if he’s retiring this season,” Johnson, 29, said in the Instagram Story  clip, sitting next to her husband. “Do people know something that we don’t know? Val?”

Chmerkovskiy succinctly replied, “I don’t know, [but] no, I’m not retiring. What is that? I would love to be back if the show brings me back. I’ll be there.”

Johnson speculated that the retirement rumors were likely fueled by her reaction to his final dances with partner Xochitl Gomez.

“I think there was a video that people maybe thought meant something. There’s a video of me sobbing like a baby after Val and Xochitl’s foxtrot from the finale,” Johnson added. “I think maybe people were like, ‘Oh, she’s so sad. It’s his last time dancing,’ but I think we’d both love to be back if Dancing With the Stars had us next season.”

Chmerkovskiy and Johnson were both part of the season 32 pro lineup on DWTS. While the Ukraine native was partnered with 17-year-old Marvel star Gomez, Johnson danced with model Tyson Beckford. Johnson and Beckford, 52, were eliminated during Motown Night in week 3. Chmerkovskiy and Gomez, meanwhile, made it to the Tuesday, December 6, finale, which they won.

Tuesday’s victory marked Chmerkovskiy’s third mirrorball win after he previously took home the trophy with Rumer Willis and Laurie Hernandez, respectively.

“It feels great. This one feels a little different. Gomez reciprocated the choreographer’s praise in her own interview with Us. “That goes both ways,” she gushed. “You can’t really know how to really do any of this unless you have someone who really understands you. So you really understood me and you did all the dances that had my personality in it. And I think that’s what’s important.”

Chmerkovskiy and Gomez were the first recipients of the newly renamed Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy to pay tribute to the late DWTS head judge. Goodman died in April at the age of 78, less than one year after his retirement.

Erbert’s health scare came after she and Derek took the stage together at the D.C. stop of his Symphony of Dance tour on Wednesday, December 6. Meghan Trainor was in the audience and praised Erbert’s performance while commenting on Derek’s post.

“The show was absolutely amazing … Hayley was fabulous … I am so sorry this happened,” Trainor, 29, wrote. “We were sad to not see her at the end of the show. I had a feeling something happened … Many prayers and sending love 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️.”

One year prior to Erbert’s health scare, the So You Think You Can Dance alum revealed that she and Derek got into a car accident while driving on icy roads together.

“Given the circumstances, we have so much to be grateful for,” Erbert wrote of the crash via Instagram in December 2022. “I only walked away a little banged up, a swollen face, and four stitches above my eyebrow. Now, more than ever, we realize how fragile life is and how important it is to love those around you.”

In an Instagram comment, Derek noted that Erbert didn’t “remember anything” from the accident.

“She was dazed afterwards, being cheerful saying we should keep going to dinner as blood ran down her face. That really scared me,” he wrote. “She came to 20 minutes later when the firemen arrived.”

Mauricio Umansky says he and his estranged wife, Kyle Richards, are giving each other time amid their separation.

During a podcast appearance on Thursday, Mauricio, 53, opened up about his current status with Kyle, 54, explained why he limits his filming time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and reacted to the ongoing rumors about his marriage while also teasing Buying Beverly Hills season two and sharing why he’s always so positive.

“I was born with a terminal blood disease and I was lucky to survive that,” Mauricio revealed on the November 16 episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. “Between surviving that and then pretty much spending the first seven years of my life in a hospital, and I forgot, I cannot recall anything of my past prior to my seven-year birthday. It just doesn’t exist. It’s not in my brain. I’m lucky to be here and I’m lucky to be healthy.”

Looking back at his journey to success, Mauricio revealed that despite starting in textiles, he loved real estate and knew he had “charisma and the ability to read a room,” which made him a good salesperson. So, when brother-in-law Rick Hilton, 68, gave him a job at his real estate firm, he knew it was what he should be doing.

Now, years later, he’s showcasing his own firm, The Agency, on Netflix’s Buying Beverly Hills, which also features his stepdaughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 35, and daughter Alexia Umansky, 27.

“It’s not a toxic environment. It’s about a business and I get to do it with two of my girls and you’ll have to tune in to see if there’s a third one coming on,” he teased, signaling to daughter Sophia Umansky, 23.

When Mauricio was then asked about his experience on DWTS, which saw him starring alongside partner Emma Slater, 34, who he was romantically linked to, he said it was “an incredible workout” and “the most fun [he’s] ever had.”

“You rehearse four hours a day. So you’re literally, dancing, working out four hours a day, then, I was spending at least another hour in the gym, stretching, still working out, lifting weights, all of that stuff,” he detailed.

During his time on DWTS, Mauricio admittedly blacked out and lost his vision amid one of his live performances, which taught him an important life lesson.

“I missed a third of my dance … It taught me empathy for the people that work for me when they make mistakes,” he explained, adding, “I wouldn’t trade it.”

Moving on to his separation from Kyle, Mauricio admitted it’s been extremely frustrating dealing with constant rumors and reports regarding what is or is not going on between them.

“It’s out of control. The amount of stories that are coming out on a daily basis — everybody wants to know what’s going on with my marriage. [And] I do too,” he stated. “We’re going through a struggle. We’re going through issues, just like everybody else does. There’s no playbook for how to deal with it. And it doesn’t change on a daily basis. If we’re separated, that means we’re giving each other time to allow things to happen, which means it can’t change every single minute and every single day.”

“When I know what I’m doing with my marriage, I will let you guys all know, Until then, everybody can take a hike and f*ck off,” he added.

Still, Mauricio acknowledged that people “want to know” about him and Kyle because they’re “public figures.”

“I don’t have a Google alert on myself. I don’t have a Google alert on my wife. I’ve chosen this year not to watch the season of [RHOBH] … because I also know they’re dramatizing everything and there’s a bunch of stuff that I don’t even want to see,” he shared. “I always tell my wife, I’m like, ‘I know what happens to us.’ So I don’t need to read the speculation and B.S. that’s out there about us.”

While Mauricio has been featured on RHOBH for all of its 13 seasons, he said he’s learned to limit his screen time.

“I’ve taken the decision to be in and out. I’m in, my wife’s always right and then I get out as fast as possible,” he laughed. “I go in just enough to be in a conversation, to listen, but I am completely out of the drama. The drama is all about the women and I have no interest in that. It’s worked out for me for 13 seasons. I’ve gone 13 seasons unscathed.”

In addition to not being seen on camera too frequently, Mauricio makes a point not to get too invested in the ladies’ status with one another, especially since he and Kyle get so close to their castmates.

“Reality television’s really strange, particularly the [Real Housewives],” he explained. “It’s gossipy, it’s toxic, they’re talking, they‘re fighting. It’s a lot of that. The men stay out of that, at least on [the RHOBH] franchise … and we kind of have this thing where it’s like, ‘Let the wives do whatever they need to do.’ We know that tomorrow’s gonna change because they’re gonna have to get back together.”

“I’ve seen Kyle get home and tell me how much she can’t stand a housewife, she’ll never talk to her again, and then three episodes later, it’s her best, best friend,” he noted. “So I have very much decided to not be judgmental and just to allow the whole thing to happen.”

Despite his current issues with Kyle, Mauricio offered some sound advice to other couples who are struggling: Avoid the mundane.

“[Focus on] being open, being willing to take some risks, being willing to be outside of your comfort zone. [And be] creative,” he recommended. “As a couple, you still have to continue to go find things to do together.”

‘Dancing With the Stars’: Barry Williams Soars to Fan-Favorite on ‘Whitney Houston Night,’ Final 6 Couples Revealed

    [ad_1]

It was “Whitney Houston Night” on “Dancing With the Stars” — and every couple pulled out every stop.

Last week, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy struggled after she suffered an ankle injury and a wardrobe malfunction. But they were determined to come back stronger than ever this week — and did just that. After their tango, they received the first perfect score for an individual routine of the season, a routine that Carrie Ann Inaba called “flawless.”

After the solo dances, the dance-off returned as couples faced off against one another, doing the same dance style at the same time. The winning couple of each received three bonus points added to their totals. Because they topped last week’s leaderboard, Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov received immunity, did not have to participate, automatically receiving three bonus points.

Here’s how the rest of the pairs did:

Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev beat out Xochitl and Val after their cha cha to “So Emotional.”

Barry Williams and Peta Murgatroyd earned the bonus three points instead of Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach after they both performed the salsa to “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” — and Billy ultimately ended up taking off his shirt. (Plus, the crowd couldn’t stop chanting his name.)

Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber won over Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold following their rumba to “One Moment in Time.”

Ultimately, Billy and Peta were eliminated. Scroll down for the night’s full leaderboard:

    [ad_1]

Harry Jowsey channeled Justin Timberlake — frosted tips and all — during Dancing With the Stars’ Music Video Night.

Jowsey, 26, and his partner, Rylee Arnold, performed a jazz routine to ’NSync’s 2000 hit “It’s Gonna Be Me” during the Tuesday, November 7, episode.

Jowsey recreated Timberlake’s doll-like look from the song’s music video, in which the boy band members pretended to be action figures of themselves. He sported a curly blonde wig, an acid-wash denim jacket with matching jeans and airbrushed makeup that made him look like a doll.

“This was so much fun ❤️❤️❤️,” Jowsey commented via Instagram photos of the routine shared via Dancing With the Stars’ official account.

Although Jowsey was styled like Timberlake, 42, it was another member of ’NSync who gave him a pep talk before the show: Lance Bass.

“You need to get out of your head and just perform,” Bass, 44, told Jowsey during rehearsal. The visit boosted Jowsey’s confidence. “If I could just take Lance’s advice, … I know the best dance of the night: it’s gonna be me,” the Too Hot to Handle alum told cameras.

Despite getting a visit from Bass himself, Jowsey failed to wow the judges and earned the lowest score of the night: a 24. The crowd booed Carrie Ann Inaba as she told Jowsey that his backup dancers had upstaged him. “Once the boys were no longer in front of you, it was not as good,” Inaba, 55, said.

Jowsey redeemed himself during the group dance-off later in the night. He kept his blonde wig on while performing “Gangnam Style” by PSY alongside Arnold, 18, Lele Pons, Brandon Armstrong, Xochitl Gomez, Val Chmerkovskiy, Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev.

Having good chemistry with your Dancing With the Stars partner is crucial — and the remaining couples are sharing their thoughts on their fellow competitors. For Lele Pons, the obvious choice is Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold. Her partner, Brandon Armstrong, argued that he and Pons, 27, also have great chemistry, but the YouTuber shut […]

Judge Derek Hough was floored by Jowsey’s stage presence during the group number and got up to give him a hug. Noting that he’d “figured out” Jowsey’s strength, Derek, 38 said, “You’re not a soloist, you’re a team player.” Jowsey’s team received a perfect score of 40 from the judges while the opposing team received a 37.

Despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard, Jowsey and Arnold were saved by viewers’ votes while Pons, 27, and Armstrong, 29, were eliminated.

Arnold’s nod to the “SexyBack” singer comes as other blasts from Timberlake’s past have recently made headlines. Britney Spears’ new memoir, The Woman in Me, which hit shelves last month, featured several bombshells about her relationship with Timberlake, whom she dated from 1999 to 2002.

In the tell-all, Spears, 41, accused Timberlake of cheating on her “a couple of times,” claimed he ended their three-year relationship via text message and alleged that Timberlake attempted to comfort her after she had an abortion by playing guitar for her.

Timberlake, who has not publicly addressed his ex’s memoir, turned off his Instagram comments last month. Shortly thereafter, he was seen vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with his family, including wife Jessica Biel. A source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the trip “had nothing to do with Britney’s memoir” and had been planned months prior.

“[Justin] is supportive of Britney’s decision to put her truth out there,” the insider added.

Bass, meanwhile, has stood by his bandmate’s side amid the drama. “I mean, everyone has their own opinion. I just feel like the world is so full of hate right now that we need to practice a little forgiveness,” he told TMZ in October. “Britney did, so let’s take a note from her.”

Despite the candid confessions about her dynamic with Timberlake in The Woman in Me, Spears told fans via Instagram last month that “my book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means.” She added that the events recounted in the memoir are “in the past” and said writing it “has given me closure on all things for a better future.”

Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater were caught strolling into a Los Angeles nightclub “arm-in-arm” over the weekend as his estranged wife, Kyle Richards, attended BravoCon in Las Vegas, where she seemingly slipped about their “divorce.”

Although the couple previously denied that they are ending their marriage, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member, 54, said over the weekend that her “divorce” has been hard — while also noting on Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge‘s podcast that Mauricio’s explanation about why he was seen holding Emma’s hand late last month was “strange.”

“Listen, we are separated. So, we’re allowed to do what we want,” Kyle noted on the November 4 episode of Two Ts in a Pod, via Page Six. “It’s just, you know, strange to see. I don’t know. We were married for almost 28 years. So, that’s hard to see.”

As RHOBH fans may recall, Mauricio, 53, and Emma, 34, stepped out for dinner in Beverly Hills, where they were caught holding hands, on October 23. They were quickly met with dating rumors, which they denied in a joint video on Instagram.

“We were talking about the week during dinner. And when we came out of dinner, um, we were recapping [the week], and I reached out, um, to grab Emma’s hand, and she grabbed my hand and, uh, and then we walked, you know, to the cars. Just recapping and summarizing,” Mauricio explained as Emma admitted they have a “special bond” due to their time together on Dancing With the Stars.

Still, after saying on Watch What Happens Live that she was “hurt” and “taken aback” by the pics of Mauricio and Emma, Kyle denied claims of hypocrisy involving her relationship with Morgan Wade, 28, to Teddi, 42, and Tamra, 56.

“I’ve seen people say, ‘Oh, but you’ve been running around with your friend.’ First of all … there’s no weird pictures of me with anybody on the internet at all,” Kyle stated.

As for Mau’s chemistry with Emma, Kyle said it isn’t “easy” for her to see.

“I really wanted him to do well and I voted for them every week, and you know, I was very supportive,” she explained. “With that said, it’s a lot, you know, it really is.”

“[We’re] allowed to do what [we] each want to do,” Kyle added, but they should keep it “under wraps.”

Although Kyle and Mauricio have maintained that they are working on their marriage, Kyle seemed to slip and say “divorce” during an interview at BravoCon.

“I’ve gone through a lot this last year. It does change you. Losing my best friend to suicide changed me and going through my divorce and all that. It’s made me stronger but it definitely changes you as a person,” she told TMZ.

While his estranged wife was in Las Vegas, Mauricio was back home in L.A. with Emma at his side.

In photos shared by TMZ on November 5, the former DWTS pair was spotted at the Line Hotel club in Koreatown, where they walked “arm-in-arm” into the venue with a female friend at their side.

According to TMZ’s sources, Mauricio allegedly put his hand on Emma’s back at one point in the evening — and they looked “very chummy” together as they smiled and chatted with friends.

As for kissing or hand-holding, there was none of that.

REPORT: Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Not "Getting Along” After Emma Hand-Holding as He Explains Why He Addressed Dating Rumors & Talks Future After DWTS, Plus Live Viewing Thread

    Credit: Bravo, Instagram

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s amicable separation has reportedly taken a turn for the worse.

As a new report claims the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple is no longer getting along amid Mauricio’s “highly flirtatious” relationship with his Dancing With the Stars partner, Emma Slater, 34, Mauricio has confirmed plans to continue to dance with Emma — even after their elimination.

Following their October 31 exit from DWTS, Mauricio, 53, and Emma participated in an interview with Access Hollywood on the ballroom floor, during which Mauricio reflected on the experience.

“I have gained a lot. I have gained memories that will last me forever. I’ve gained the experience of dancing and learning how to dance. I’ve gained a new friend,” he shared, signaling to Emma. “I’ve gained the knowledge that I can conquer something that’s super uncomfortable … I started off with three left feet and I’m going home a dancer and I’m going to continue this experience.”

“I hope so. I’m here. I’m ready. I will do it,” Emma replied. Mauricio proclaimed, “Let’s go!”

As for why they felt the need to address the dating rumors that surfaced after they were caught holding hands after a Beverly Hills dinner date, Mauricio said, “There [were] just so many stories out there and we don’t need to have stories out there.”

Meanwhile, Emma added, “Sometimes it’s not fair when we didn’t think it needed to be addressed and then when we realized people are staying all this stuff and we realized, it’s probably valuable for us, as it’s about us, to have our narrative.”

In an Instagram Story video days ago, Mauricio and Emma insisted there was no romance between them.

“For full clarity, we are not dating,” Mauricio said. “We’ve been dancing together now for six weeks, four hours a day every single day.”

According to Emma, the “intense” experience of DWTS leads to a “very special bond” between the star and their pro.

“We [share] similar personalities,” she added. “We’ve got a super supportive relationship. Last week was extremely emotional, so [it’s a] super supportive relationship. We’re definitely there for each other, and it’s beautiful. That’s a great thing.”

As for the hand-holding, Mauricio explained, “We were talking about the week during the dinner, and when we came out of dinner we were recapping, and I reached out to grab Emma’s hand. She grabbed my hand, and then we walked to the cars, just recapping.”

But when Kyle, 54, saw the images, she wasn’t thrilled, telling Andy Cohen, 55, on Watch What Happens Live that Mauricio’s behavior was hurtful.

“I don’t know if anything’s happened yet, but obviously there’s something there. Listen, I love him very much and we are amicable. That really did hurt me. I just don’t think you hold hands like that with somebody,” she shared.

Although nothing more has been said between the pair, an insider this week claimed things are currently rocky between Kyle and Mauricio.

“[Mauricio and Emma have] a highly flirtatious relationship [and] seem a little too close,” the source explained in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

A second insider stated that “[Mauricio and Kyle] aren’t getting along,” adding that Mauricio’s wandering eye was a “catalyst for [their] separation.”

Xochitl Gomez Works Through Apparent ‘DWTS’ Injury During Monster Night

    [ad_1]

Xochitl Gomez can work through anything — and her Dancing With the Stars performance on Monster Night proved it.

The Marvel star, 17, and partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed a Contemporary routine to “Game of Survival” by Ruelle, which received a 37 out of 40. While they earned high scores, questions were raised when Chmerkovskiy, 37, carried Gomez after their routine came to an end.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough — along with guest judge Niecy Nash — questioned whether she was OK as DWTS host Alfonso Riberio appeared to assist in stabilizing her. However, when asked, Gomez continued to tell the judges she was “great.”

When it came time to get her scores, Chmerkovskiy held up the bottom of Gomez’ dress, which was seemingly stained with blood. Gomez chalked it up to Halloween.

The teen told viewers to “trust” when she was asked whether she would make it back on the dancefloor for the “Monster-thon” marathon dance that would be occurring later in the episode.

Last month, Chmerkovskiy told Us Weekly exclusively that he was “excited” to be paired with Gomez because of her experience doing “all these stunts.” Gomez echoed his sentiment.

“I’m having a blast,” she gushed to Us. “[Rehearsals have] been really fun. I’ve really liked kind of doing the work and then earning something out of it.”

She called Chmerkovskiy a “good teacher” when asked about his reputation as a tough pro. “[He’s exactly what a teacher should be,” she added.

Chmerkovskiy added that he goes into every DWTS season like it’s his year to win the mirrorball trophy — which has since been renamed to honor late judge Len Goodman.

“I do put the pressure, but the pressure is just to kind of bring out the best in my partner and I’m only as good as my partner,” he explained to Us. “That’s kind of the philosophy of ballroom dance in general. And so, anytime I’m given an opportunity to dance with such an incredible talent, it’s a huge privilege for me. But it’s also an incredible responsibility.”

Kyle Richards appears to be very unhappy about the recent rumors linking her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, to his Dancing With the Stars partner, Emma Slater, as a new report is revealing she is upset.

Just after photos of Mauricio, 53, and Emma, 34, holding hands after a dinner date hit the web, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member, 54, seemingly rescinded her support of Mauricio’s role on the dancing competition while also stepping out with her own rumored girlfriend, country singer Morgan Wade, 28, in Malibu.

“Kyle Richards hits the beach with rumored lover Morgan Wade in Malibu – after estranged husband Mauricio Umansky held hands with Emma Slater,” Daily Mail Celeb shared in the caption of a couple of photos of Kyle and Morgan shared on their X page.

As Kyle continued to fuel rumors of a romance with Morgan, who she’s been linked to since earlier this year, prior to her and Mauricio’s separation being confirmed, she made a point to erase the past support she’s given to Mauricio amid his DWTS run.

In a screenshot shared by Bravo and Cocktails on Instagram, Kyle’s Instagram account was seen, along with a message reading, “Kyle deleted all her DWTS photos supporting Mau on her Insta.”

According to TMZ, Kyle deleting the posts supporting Mauricio and Emma was a very intentional act as sources close to her found the photos of them holding hands, which hit the net earlier this week, “super disrespectful.”

Sources tell the outlet that Kyle doesn’t believe Mauricio’s claims that he was only holding Emma’s hands due to being overtaken with emotion after speaking to Emma about his marriage to Kyle during their sushi dinner date. The source stated,  “It’s obvious what’s up.”

As for Kyle and Mauricio’s living situation, they continue to share the same house despite their separation with an insider stating their relationship is “generally amicable.”

When it comes to claims of hypocrisy over Kyle being photographed repeatedly with Morgan, the source says it’s not the same since she hasn’t been showing heavy PDA with the country singer.

As RHOBH fans may have seen, Kyle was in the audience during Mauricio’s premiere on DWTS last month, and she has shared regular posts encouraging her fans and followers to vote and keep him on the show in the weeks since.

“I feel like he’s gonna do great. He’s very excited,” Kyle stated during a September appearance on Amazon Live. “He’s really, really enjoying that, so I will be there cheering him on for sure.”

But while Kyle attended the first show, she has been absent in the weeks since as other members of their family, including their daughters and his parents, dad Eduardo Umansky and mom Dr. Estella Sneider, have continued to show their support.

Tom Bergeron explains ‘Dancing With the Stars’ departure: ‘They screwed me’ – National | Globalnews.ca

    [ad_1]

Three years after his surprising departure from Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), TV personality Tom Bergeron has strong words to explain his exit: “They screwed me, I’m gonna screw them.”

During a recent appearance on DWTS pro Cheryl Burke’s “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans” podcast, Bergeron said he left the show after criticizing producers for their controversial decision to invite former White House press secretary Sean Spicer to compete.

Bergeron, 68, famously hosted the competition dance show from 2005 to 2020. Despite his 15-year tenure with the production, Bergeron said his insistence that Spicer should not be allowed on DWTS did not go over well.

Bergeron told Burke he envisioned DWTS as a “wonderful escape” from the regular rigmarole of U.S. politics and the state of the country leading up to the 2020 election.

    Story continues below advertisement

“I said, ‘Guys, this is exactly what we said we wouldn’t do. Don’t go there,’” Bergeron recalled telling a group of the show’s producers over lunch.

The former host said he’d already signed a new three-season contract by the time Spicer was selected in 2019. Regardless of his protestation, Bergeron said DWTS showrunners were set on having Spicer in dance shoes.

Bergeron offered to take the 28th season of DWTS off. In return, DWTS producers offered to release him from the new contract, he said.

“That’s how strongly they felt,” Bergeron explained.

He said the decision to keep Spicer ignited his temper and “really pissed me off.”

“At that moment, I knew this is probably my last season, because of that one betrayal,” Bergeron continued. “Up until that point, there were people of character there.”

Bergeron even released a disapproving personal statement at the time of Spicer’s casting announcement. Though he did not name Spicer specifically, said he was not aligned with the franchise’s decision to book political figures of any affiliation.

“We can agree to disagree, as we do now, but ultimately it’s their call,” he said at the time.

The public’s reaction to Spicer’s casting was similar to Bergeron’s own, with people many outraged to see a political figure, former or active, in the show’s lineup.

Bergeron discussed his personal statement on “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans” and said he wanted DWTS viewers to know the producers threw him “a curveball.”

He said he did not tell network executives before releasing the statement because “they didn’t deserve to know.”

“They had screwed me. I’m gonna screw them,” Bergeron defended. “I wanted the viewers to know this was a step too far. This was a step too far on the cusp of an election year.”

“I would have responded the same way if they had booked Hillary Clinton, whom I voted for,” Bergeron maintained.

DWTS has not released an official statement in response to Bergeron’s latest criticisms.

Bergeron still hosted the 28th season of DWTS. Spicer was voted out after eight weeks of competition.

In July 2020, Bergeron and his then-co-host Erin Andrews both announced they were leaving DWTS. Hosting duties were subsequently filled by Tyra Banks.

Banks departed from DWTS earlier this year and was replaced by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough in Season 32.

Mauricio Umansky dedicated his upcoming Dancing With the Stars performance to Kyle Richards amid the duo’s separation.

“Tonight’s Dance on @dancingwiththestars is about life and how it’s not always perfect and when you think it’s impossible to move mountains and you’re at your lowest moment and you think all doors are closed you need to rise up and rise unafraid and move mountains,” Umansky, 53, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, October 24, ahead of the ABC series’ latest episode. “My time was 1996 when Kyle and I got married and Alexia was born.”

Richards, 54, was already the mother of daughter Farrah, 34, whom she shares with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie, when she met Umansky. The Buying Beverly Hills star recalled the early days of his marriage to Richards as difficult, in part because money was super tight.

“We had Farrah and Alexia. I was 26 when I was fired from my job and was broke,” Umansky recalled. “Kyle was my rock and together we rose up and we rose up 1000 x and we moved mountains a lot of them. It’s been an incredible journey. Tonight’s dance is dedicated to Kyle and my Family.”

Umansky went on to say that he and Richards “do not know” what the future of their relationship looks like. “We’re not hiding anything,” he continued. “We legitimately do not know what that looks like.”
