  • Meet The World’s Hottest Boyband: August Moon

Meet The World’s Hottest Boyband: August Moon

    [ad_1]

Growing up a One Direction fan, I am brimming with unnecessary knowledge of four British (and one Irish) men. I have continued to follow
Harry Styles throughout his illustrious solo career, and I still watch their This Is Us documentary once a year. And in the world of boybands and sick obsession comes fan fiction.

Yes, I’m no stranger to the classic fanfic lore: your mother sold you to One Direction because she couldn’t pay her bills, or Harry is the emotionally unavailable soccer star at your school and you, dear Y/N, are the nerd assigned to tutor him. And some fanfics were so addictive that they were turned into films —
see: the After series by Anna Todd.

But now, we’ve been introduced to a new band in a new film that totally doesn’t ring any familiar bells: August Moon.

    Who Is August Moon?

August Moon is the fictional band in the new Amazon Prime movie,
The Idea Of You, directed by Michael Showalter and starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine. Based on the novel by Robinne Lee, “The Idea Of You” was fashioned after Harry Styles and his rumored love for older women. The internet has already been abuzz comparing Galitzine’s Hayes Campbell to Styles- the patchwork tattoos, the One Direction-inspired photoshoots and mannerisms, and of course the British accent.

24-year-old lead singer Hayes meets 40-year-old Solene (Hathaway) at
Coachella (where else?) and sparks fly. If you want to read more about what happens in the trailer, check out our recap here!

    Just like
Daisy Jones & The Six,August Moon will be releasing their music on streaming platforms across the world. Their first song, “Dance Before We Walk”, was featured in the trailer today.

The song itself isn’t as bad as I anticipated, it’s reminiscent of British synth indie pop made popular by bands like The 1975. Singing alongside
Galitzine, there’s Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham, Vik White, and Dakota Andan. And it looks like that won’t be the last of August Moon!

The band has also just activated an Instagram account (and it already has over 5k followers), so it truly looks like they’re taking the Daisy Jones approach. The hype surrounding any band mirroring One Direction is huge, and it only amplifies when the lead singer is played by a current Hollywood heartthrob who’s seemingly in
    everything.

You can listen to “Dance Before We Walk” here:

MORE ABOUT THE IDEA OF YOU

Executive Produced by Douglas S. Jones, Jason Babiszewski, Jennifer Westfeldt, Kian Gass

Starring Anne Hathaway, Nicholas Galitzine, Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo, Reid Scott, Perry Mattfeld, Jordan Aaron Hall, Mathilda Gianopoulos, Raymond Cham Jr., Jaiden Anthony, Viktor White, Dakota Adan

    Genre Romantic Drama

Based on the acclaimed, contemporary love story of the same name, The Idea of You centers on Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet. When Solène must step in to chaperone her teenage daughter’s trip to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex bails at the last minute, she has a chance encounter with Hayes and there is an instant, undeniable spark. As they begin a whirlwind romance, it isn’t long before Hayes’ superstar status poses unavoidable challenges to their relationship, and Solène soon discovers that life in the glare of his spotlight might be more than she bargained for.

  • Cinema Might Be the Secret to Personal Style

Cinema Might Be the Secret to Personal Style

    [ad_1]

We’re living in the heyday of fast fashion. TikTok microtrends are churned out faster than most brands can keep up with and toxic “dupe” culture has convinced us that it’s always better to pay less to participate in trends — despite the environmental and social impact of major fast fashion brands. Is getting one picture in a polyester dress really worth the hours of child labor that went into it, and the eternity that piece of plastic masquerading-as-fabric will spend in a landfill?

Fast fashion giants like SHEIN have convinced us not to think about those pesky problems. Instead, they draw our attention to their cheap prices and sponsored influencer hauls. In an age of hyperinflation, who can be blamed for seeking a bargain?

But there’s another consequence of the reign of TikTok style: everybody dresses like everybody else.

Personal style is a relic of the past. I used to spend hours in New York’s SoHo, window shopping and people-watching to get aspirational fashion inspiration. Now, all the stores and the shoppers look exactly alike. It’s algorithm fashion. Everybody is wearing the same trend-du-jour, paired with a different color variation of the Adidas Sambas.

While I too love to participate in trends that resonate with me (through vintage shopping as much as possible), I often find myself thinking: what is my personal style? I don’t want to dress how I did in college, but I fear that the past few years of social media trends has infiltrated my closet more than I think, erasing any sense of individuality and peculiarity from my closet.

It is after all, the unique and strange things about how you dress and how you style your clothes that make up your personal style. But now that I can’t turn to people-watching or even Pinterest for fresh, new style inspiration, I’ve gone back to basics: watching movies.

Personal stylists like Allison Bornstein or Tibi’s Amy Smilovic have amassed platforms — and both written books — about cultivating personal style in an overwhelming sartorial landscape. And both of them advise us to use three words as our anchors. The idea is this: pick three words that, when you go to get dressed, help you build an outfit that feels true to who you are. These words aren’t “pear-shaped” or “autumn color palette,” but rather words about your character and your inspirations. Words like “edgy,” “romantic,” or “pragmatic.” To find these anchors, I’ve started going back to my favorite movies to discover a whole new vocabulary.

How you dress is a reflection of who you are and what you like. This is why so many TikTok “cores” take inspiration from esoteric lifestyle ephemera, not just specific items of clothing. It’s about world-building. And where better to find worlds that inspire you than in movies and television?

I’m partial to 90s movies just like I’m partial to 90s style. Movies like Love Jones, 10 Things I Hate About You, Basic Instinct, and even Mary Kate and Ashley’s Passport to Paris (I was destined, it seemed, to have a toxic love for The Row) have a sartorial chokehold on me. The 2000s romantic comedy also can’t be ignored, so add How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Under the Tuscan Sun, andLove and Basketball to the roster. Plus anything Gwenyth Paltrow has ever been in, like Sliding Doors, Great Expectations, and The Talented Mr. Ripley.

When I think about it, the most generative content that has helped me navigate my life, and style, as an adult has mostly been television and cinema. As a former Tumblr girl, I am no stranger to analyzing film screencaps and making them my entire personality. And over the past few years, titles like Hulu’s High Fidelityhave actively influenced my purchasing decisions more than any influencer. And who wasn’t sartorially inspired by Euphoria?

Now that I’m looking for style inspiration in movies and TV, I see potential in everything I watch. A color palette from a Regency-era TV show, a silhouette from a 90s period piece, an unexpected styling choice by a quirky character.

And in 2023, the year that the SAG actor’s strike halted a season’s worth of press tours, this was the perfect year to find fashion in film rather than in promotional material. Good thing we had a glut of good movies with great style to choose from. Here are some fashion highlights from the best movies in 2023:

    Barbie

Barbie was a marketing masterpiece. Pretty much a two-hour advertisement for Mattel, the film didn’t pull any fashion punches. From Barbie’s custom Chanel to her cowboy two-piece and even the pink jumpsuits, every moment in this film was a masterclass in style. No wonder Barbiecore reigned supreme this year. Even Ken had his moments — the double denim, the leather vest, and, of course, the “I am Kenough” sweater.

    Bottoms

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Bottoms is proof that we should all be dressing like lesbians. It’s a menswear masterpiece for any gender. Lots of layers, lots of overalls, and an enviable collection of vintage tees were all major style moments in this film.

    Strange Way of Life

This stylish cowboy short film was the star of the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Some have called it filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar’s Answer to Brokeback Mountain. This queer Western, starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal, might seem like an odd choice — until you realize it’s styled by the fashion house Saint Laurent.

    Sharper

This Apple TV film was not talked about enough — despite its all-star cast of Sebastian Stan, Julianne Moore, and Justice Smith. A movie about con artists, how you dress and how you appear is a major theme of the story. So no surprise that, with all the talk of quiet luxury this year, Julianne Moore’s ensembles are a stunning rival to Succession style.

    She Came to Me

This odd indie film was a feast of perfectly crafted characters with fashion moments that felt so precise to the core of the characters. The female leads, Marissa Tomei and Anne Hathaway, are no strangers to iconic cinematic attire. Hathaway plays an uptight, wealthy therapist whose wardrobe is another quiet luxury dream for the Brooklyn townhouse creative class. But to me, nothing beats Tomei’s ensembles as a tugboat captain addicted to romance. The juxtaposition between her worker’s coveralls and her corsets is so sumptuous it’s a play I’ll be replicating in my own closet. Carhartts, you’re about to be dressed up with vintage lingerie.

    May December

This chilling character study is another film where appearance is everything. Natalie Portman’s character mirrors Julianne Moore’s character in her quest to embody her essence, copying her clothes and her makeup in a disturbing display. But most surprising is Charles Melton’s dad style in this film. The rugbies and New Balance combo is just at home on this tragic character as it is on fashion girlies in London and NYC.

    Scrapper

Starring Harris Dickinson as a young father, this might seem like an odd choice. But this was the year of Scumbag Style and Blokecore (hence all the football jerseys and sports sneakers you’ve been seeing around) and no movie better encapsulates this than Scrapper. Plus, I can’t get enough of Dickinson’s bleached blonde hair in this.

    Priscilla

Sofia Coppola’s genius is that of perspective and aesthetics. And with a subject as fascinating and fashionable as Priscilla Presley, this film was a fantasy for the Tumblr girl in me and for the year of “girlhood.”

    Asteroid City

It’s Wes Anderson. Need I say more?

    Daisy Jones & the Six

One of the great television triumphs of the year, this series was a feat of world building and nostalgia. It brought 70s style back and gave us some style moments that will likely go down in history. It’s our generation’s Almost Famous.

  • Summer Fashion Trends 2023: The Hottest Clothes For The Hottest Months

Summer Fashion Trends 2023: The Hottest Clothes For The Hottest Months

    [ad_1]

Today, writing this article, I feel hopeful. Why, you ask? Because I’ve finally cycled through enough of these Seasonal Fashion Trends articles to get to summer! Fall, winter, spring — we’ve made it through the year. Though some trends, have not (sorry, apres-ski chic).

That’s right, I sit outside writing this basking in balmy, 80 degree weather. The sun is indeed shining, the birds are indeed chirping. I suddenly have a sense of purpose again – even if that purpose is to write about Summer 2023 fashion trends.

This summer, prepare to stick with what you know: light fabrics like linen, knitwear with a special emphasis on crochet pieces, and lots of sheer moments. Fashion houses are loving rich, royal colors like red and purple as your pop from the coastal neutral vibes we love in the summer.

Big trends to look out for this summer 2023?

    Asymmetrical hemming

Okay, I’ll admit. This was a trend that sent me straight back to the Tumblr era of 2013, and not exactly in a good way. But don’t fret!

They’re all trends we’ve known and loved in the past…but think more elevated. Asymmetrical hems no longer indicate high-low skirts (what I like to call the mullet skirt, business in the front…party in the back). Think diagonal hemlines that feel more like a sexy slit in the leg than the previous asymmetric hemline trend.

    Underwear as the staple

This is one of those circumstances where it’s what’s underneath that counts. Now, it’s no longer embarrassing if your thong is showing through your dress, it’s trendy! Some of these summer fashion trends go hand-in-hand, dresses are popular with your shapewear showing underneath. The more bold go braless.

    Full crochet

I preached this trend in my 2023 spring fashion trends article, but it’s never more prevalent. We are going full 70’s vibes with crochet outfits, which arguably is the most expensive trend in this list. Crochet pieces are hard to make and often unique, so they are going to cost more.

Nothing makes you feel more barefoot Coachella frequenter than crochet. Pants, dresses, jumpsuits, sets, bags, headbands, head scarfs, you name it. Everyone will be wearing crochet.

    Purples and reds

While whites and tans are the dominant colors of the summer to contrast and complement your sun kissed skin, everyone loves to wear bright colors too. Muted pastels like seafoam green and bubblegum pink are a thing of the spring, so make room for royal reds and purples.

Maybe, deep down, it’s the Taylor Swift effect, with everyone honoring her Red and Speak Now albums…who knows?

    Cut-outs

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen cutouts in our clothing. Since the weather is warm, we can get creative with the amount of skin we show…and where we show it. The peek-a-boo cutouts can be featured in dresses, skirts, pants, and shirts.

What Should I Wear This Summer?

After watching White Lotus and manifesting my island getaways…I’ve also seen a focus on resort-wear and espadrilles. It’s about ditching your cardigans and sweaters for kimonos of all lengths, whether it be floor-length lace or knee-length satin.

Ultimately, wear what’s going to make you feel comfortable. For me, it’s about staying cool during the day but with enough coverage to get me through the wind at night. But don’t say I didn’t warn you on what was trendy!

    [ad_1]

    By Melissa Romualdi.

Will there be a Daisy Jones & The Six live show?

Josh Whitehouse, who plays Eddie Roundtree, the passionate bassist of the band in the hit Prime Video series “Daisy Jones & The Six”, took to TikTok on Thursday, teasing a band rehearsal.

“Just arrived at a rehearsal studio to have a band practice with Daisy Jones & The Six,” Whitehouse says in the video before dramatically taking off his sunglasses, adding, “but we already finished the TV show.”

“So why would we be doing that?” he teased, looking directly into the camera.

While Whitehouse did not say what the rehearsal was for, fans immediately took to the comments sharing their guesses.

“It’s a concert for sure,” one fan proposed while another suggested an “SNL” performance.

“If its tour i’m going to throw up,” someone else commented while one user joked, “Already preparing for the Ticketmaster WAR.”

Others urged Whitehouse to “not joke about this” nor “play with my emotions like this.”

“This is very very mean!!!! You can’t tease us like this!!!!” one person commented.

Others begged for answers: “Whats going on Josh??? Don’t be shy.”

Whitehouse’s TikTok comes after co-star Sebastian Chacon teased a possible band tour.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Atlantic Records released Daisy Jones & The Six’s double single, “Special Gift For Our Fans”, comprised of previously-unreleased tracks “It Was Always You” and “Aurora (Live from SNL)”, which can be listened to here.

Both tracks were lifted from episode 9 of the hit series, which concluded its ten-episode rollout on Prime Video last week. They arrive in response to the “overwhelming demand and as a special gift to the band’s diehard fans” following the airing of the final episodes, said Kevin Weaver, President of Atlantic Records, West Coast, in a statement.

“It’s been clear to all of us from the start, how passionate the fanbase is for ‘Daisy Jones & The Six,’” he said. “Never was that more obvious than when the fans took to social media last week loudly campaigning for the releases of these 2 new songs that appeared in the series’ final episodes…Atlantic Records couldn’t be more excited for this week’s release.”

“It Was Always You” and “Aurora (Live From SNL)” are the latest additions to Daisy Jones & The Six’s growing catalog, which has been streamed over 50 million times thus far.

The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Soundtracks chart and #10 on Top Albums, plus, Daisy Jones & The Six themselves debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, becoming the first act from a scripted series or film to do so.

Additionally, today’s release follows the stunning Amazon Original version of “Look At Us Now (Honeycomb),” performed by Marcus Mumford & Maren Morris, out exclusively via Amazon Music. The original duet featuring lead vocals from limited series co-stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin currently sits at the top of viral charts around the globe.

  • Reese Witherspoon Is…Dating Tom Brady?

    Reese Witherspoon Is…Dating Tom Brady?

    [ad_1]

Here’s a headline that you probably didn’t have on your 2023 bingo card: Tom Brady and Reese Witherspoon are allegedly dating, according to Deuxmoi. First of all, the fact that our modern day Gossip Girl is breaking this kind of juicy tea is insanity…but-wait-what?!? Reese only announced her divorce from Jim Toth on March 24.

This is the kind of power couple that will appeal to the entire world: Tom being a major world class, football player
of all time. And Reese being actor, director, book club leader extraordinaire. Now, while Reese has had notable relationships with actors like Jake Gylenhaal, this one is the least expected. Also, this is conveniently coming out after Gisele Bunchen was recently linked to billionaire Jeffrey Soffer. Tit-for-tat, anyone?

Each star has three children…making it a full house! Reese has three children – Ava and Deacon – with ex-husband and ex-co star Ryan Phillippe. And a third – Tennessee – with top talent agent, Jim Toth. Brady has two kids – Benjamin and Vivian – with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. And another – John – with Bridget Moynahan.

    Tom had
just shared pictures of himself and fellow former NFL players like Rob Gronkowski partying beach-side, which obviously now warrants a million questions. Is Reese there? Has Tom seen Legally Blonde? Has he read any of her Book Club recs such as Daisy Jones & The Six?

While not every blind sent into Deuxmoi is necessarily the truth, this has been dubbed a “Deuxmoi Exclusive”. And it’s been re-confirmed on their Twitter account…so we will take this as fact until Tom and Reese tell us otherwise.

  • What Shows Should You Stream This Spring?

What Shows Should You Stream This Spring?

    [ad_1]

I’m at that point in life where I’m re-watching my favorite comfort shows for the zillionth time because nothing else is on. All of the shows I watch aren’t currently airing, and quite frankly, I’m bored. I can essentially quote New Girl word-for-word now because of this agonizing lull.

And while Zooey Deschanel is never the wrong choice, I’m already counting down the days until I have something new to watch. There are plenty of good shows in existence, but when it takes Euphoria three years to create a new season…times get tough.

Luckily enough for me – and the rest of the world – there have been a few recent announcements that have restored my faith in the streaming service gods. The TV networks have seen me re-watch Ted Lasso for the umpteenth time and decided it’s finally time to give me a new season. We can collectively release a sigh of relief.

HBO Max, Apple TV+, Netflix, and more have been slowly announcing their upcoming shows for spring 2023 and I’m finally feeling better. I can feel myself being released from the grip of excessive reality television as we speak. I’ve even been watching countless re-runs of Degrassi (which is Drake at his best, by the way).

If you’re feeling a little uninspired, underwhelmed, and burnt out from browsing Hulu’s main page for a show to stick out – same. But there’s hope on the horizon. Here are the best shows to stream this spring across all platforms:

    Ted Lasso – Apple TV+, March 15

With 40 Emmy nominations and 11 wins, the accolades speak for themselves.
Ted Lasso follows Jason Sudeikis as the title character throughout his time coaching AFC Richmond soccer as an American football coach. With lovable characters like Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), it’s hard not to become obsessed with the show.

Everyone loves a good underdog story, and this one is no exception. This season’s dilemma? How will Coach Nate coaching Rupert’s team affect AFC Richmond’s future?

Succession – HBO Max, March 26

Another huge contender at the Emmy’s: HBO Max’s Succession. It’s a drama series reminiscent of the Murdaugh family, with Logan Roy (Brian Cox) heading the media conglomerate Waystar Royco. Although his retirement is ever-looming, his children Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) are constantly competing for a spot at the head of the table.

Viewers go insane for the relationship between Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) and Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen), but season four is going to be explosive considering all of the children are in their “Reputation Era” of sorts.

    Quarterback – Netflix

    Netflix just announced they’re releasing
Quarterback, which follows three QBs in the NFL during the 2022 season. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Marcus Mariota (Atlanta Falcons), and Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings) were mic’d up each game and are now giving fans the most intimate look into the season.

Since there are a little under 200 days until we see the next snap of a football,
Quarterback will be a great placeholder. Fans of the game will have a chance to see some of the league’s most exciting quarterbacks in action like they’ve never seen before.

    You – Netflix, March 9

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvwvHrtL1xY

It feels like Penn Badgley becomes the most viral person on the internet whenever a new season of You premieres. The newest installment of the Netflix series has been divided in two parts. The first is out now, and the next comes out March 9.

We are finally seeing Joe get a taste of his own medicine. In a Knives Out-style who-dunnit, Joe is surrounded by a group of rich elite in England and someone is out to get him. With rising stars like Lukas Gage (Euphoria, White Lotus), I’m anticipating big things from part two.

Outer Banks – Netflix, February 23

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0w8iL2vS04

Brace yourselves. Soon everyone will be back trying to mold themselves into a John B derivative. Outer Banks is back for another season of rewriting The Goonies and us eating it up. Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Drew Starkey, Madison Bailey, and Jonathon Daviss will take up our social media from here on out.

Netflix knows they have a grip on the TikTok community with this show, so I can only imagine there will be lots of thirst-trap-worthy clips, a run-in with the police and the Kooks, and a plethora of bandanas tied around the neck. The Outer Banks, paradise on Earth.

Daisy Jones & The Six – Amazon Prime Video, March 3

If you know me, you know I’ve been anticipating this show for almost a year now. One of my favorite books of all time by Taylor Jenkins Reid has been turned into an Amazon Prime miniseries. If you’re a fan of Fleetwood Mac and 70’s rock and roll, this show will give you your fix.

With a star-studded cast featuring Riley Keough (Elvis’ granddaughter), Suki Waterhouse, Sam Claflin, and Camila Morrone, I expect nothing less than excellence. Keough and Claflin play TJR’s version of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, as the show follows the tumultuously talented band looking back on their prime years.

Riley Keough Skips ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Event Amid Trust Dispute With Grandmother Priscilla Presley

    [ad_1]

    By Paige Gawley‍ , ETOnline.com.

Riley Keough sat out of a recent promotional event. Following Lisa Marie Presley‘s death, and amid a battle over her trust with Priscilla Presley, the 33-year-old actress opted not to attend an event for her upcoming show, “Daisy Jones & the Six”.

Riley herself revealed that she wasn’t at the London gathering by sharing pics of her co-stars’ night out on her Instagram Story. One post was from Camila Morrone, and featured the model posing alongside Suki Waterhouse.

“Karen & Camila take London,” Camila captioned the post, referencing her and Suki’s characters in the upcoming Prime Video series.

Riley shared the post on her Instagram Story and referenced her own character, writing, “Meanwhile, Daisy has FOMO.”

Josh Whitehouse also documented the evening, sharing a shot of himself with Camila, Suki and Sam Claflin.

“Great night celebrating the upcoming release of ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ in London last night with these absolute beauties — what wonderful company I keep,” he captioned the pic. “Thanks for such a great night and so much more to come!”

Riley shared Josh’s post on her Story, and reacted to the photo with a heart emoji.

While Riley did not attend that particular event, she has been promoting “Daisy Jones & the Six” in the wake of her mom’s death. In fact, the actress joined TikTok and shared a giggle-filled post with Sam to do just that.

Personally, though, Riley has been dealing with an ongoing battle over her late mom’s trust. Following Lisa Marie’s death on Jan. 12, her rep confirmed to ET that Graceland, the former home of her father, Elvis Presley, would go to her three daughters: 33-year-old Riley, and 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley.

It later came to light that Riley and her brother, Benjamin (who died in 2020), were named co-trustees of Lisa Marie’s trust in 2016. However, Priscilla is contesting “the authenticity and validity” of Riley’s appointment, claiming that “there are many issues surrounding” it.

Amid the legal challenge, Joel Weinshanker, a Managing Partner at Elvis Presley Enterprises, spoke out in favour of Riley maintaining her trustee role in the wake of Lisa Marie’s death. In a follow up statement to ET, Priscilla spoke out about the situation.

“There is an individual that bought their way into the family enterprise that is trying to speak on behalf of our family. This person is not a representative of Elvis or our family,” she said, without sharing whom she was referring to. “Please allow us the time we need to work together and sort this out. Please ignore ‘the noise.’ As I have always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans, I will continue to forge a pathway forward with respect, honesty, dignity, integrity and love.”

Later, a source told ET that Keough and her grandmother “aren’t communicating at this time.”

“It has been a very tense and heartbreaking few weeks for both Riley and Priscilla,” the source said. “Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member. Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court.”

The source added that while “they are both gearing up for court, Riley would prefer to settle this dispute privately.”

“She is heartbroken that this has turned into a public matter and knows her mother would never want this. Riley is very stressed at the moment and has been trying to keep a positive attitude and outlook ahead of her new series coming out,” the source said. “Her daughter and husband have been keeping her in good spirits.”

“Daisy Jones & the Six” will premiere March 3 on Prime Video.

Daisy Jones & The Six Inspired Trends To Catch Early

In all my time on BookTok, there have only been a few novels that actually earned the hype. The algorithm crams book after book down your throat but then, surprisingly, you find one that’s well worth the wait. In this instance, I’m talking about Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

I read this a few years ago and forced everyone in my immediate circle to do the same the second I turned the last page. From start to finish, it’s flawless. It’s a fictionalized epic based on the notorious drama behind Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. It’s as if you interviewed the tumultuous, mystical band and they left nothing on the table.

The book follows Daisy Jones, a mesmerizing artiste who was clearly born to be a star. It leads us through the 60’s along her inevitable rise to fame. Daisy had the looks, the voice, and the attitude — sleeping with rockstars and dabbling with drugs. At the same time, the band The Six led by the angsty Billy Dunne are taking off. When an eagle-eyed producer matches Daisy with The Six, the world is forever changed.

Cue the drama. The merger of Daisy Jones + The Six goes on to impact the music industry as their internal drama becomes public. The tale twists and turns until one final concert at Chicago’s Soldier Field signals the end of their time together.

Now, years later, a rising journalist gets the chance to hear their sides of the story. It’s equal parts sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

The story is so addictive it can’t be missed. So if you’re not a reader, you’re in luck. The upcoming TV adaption debuts on March 3, 2023 on Amazon Prime. The 10 episode miniseries is already garnering buzz with a promising cast.

Riley Keough, daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of Elvis, will play the lead Daisy and Sam Claflin (Me Before You) will play Billy. Other notable names are Suki Waterhouse and Camila Morrone, who you may also know as Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend.

I can already feel a 70’s-style resurgence on the horizon. This is Gen-Z’s Almost Famous, without a doubt. The way the TikTok community will never be the same after this miniseries premiers. I don’t even know if SHEIN has enough bell bottoms in stock for the trend-hungry consumers.

Sometimes, you can sniff a trend from a mile away. Call me crazy, but I just know we are all going to obsess over the It Girls from Daisy Jones — just like we did with Euphoria. Get your record players out, here are the top trends Daisy Jones & The Six will reignite:

    A Curtain Bang Resurgence

No one did curtain bangs and blowouts quite like the women of the 70’s. Whip out those Revlon blow dry brushes (or Dyson Air Wraps for the blessed) and cut your front pieces. We are aiming for bombshell hair and wispy bangs.

Remember, blow dry the top parts and front pieces of your hair away from your face to get the utmost volume.

    The Bell Bottom

Honestly, I live for bell bottom jeans. While the baggy jean look has reigned for months, sometimes I like a little shape in my jeans. I’m not talking about anything crazy like skinny jeans, but a fitted thigh is all I need.

I guarantee you that every cast member of this show will at one point rock a pair…and I equally promise that every store will be pushing the 70’s favorite jeans by April.

    Band Tees

I can totally see a revival of retro band tees coming back into Urban Outfitters. The oversized vintage-style tee is all the rage, so slap on a picture of the Rolling Stones logo and you’re in business.

Nothing says “I’m with the band” quite like a vintage-inspired tee. This one from Urban is exactly what I’m talking about.

    Record Players

Remember that era in 2014 when everyone went out and bought a Crosley record player with Tumblr-recommended aesthetic records like The Neighbourhood and The 1975? I just have the weirdest inkling that we are on the cusp of roaming around record stores yet again.

There’s no shame, my dining room wall is covered in vintage records I bought on a discount at my local record store. Bring on all the vinyl for me.

    Fur Vests

Anything fur-lined really. A fur vest is the ultimate accessory for your weekend outfit. Seriously, I act differently when I wear a fur vest. Add a pair of sunnies and you’re a rockstar with other places to be.

My personal rec is this Free People fur vest that’s perfect for literally any occasion.
