  • Donald Trump Threatens to Sue Trevor Noah Over Epstein Grammys Joke

    [ad_1]

The president has had his feelings hurt, and he intends to do something about it. After the 68th Grammy Awards, Donald Trump lashed out at host Trevor Noah via Truth Social over a joke the comedian made at Trump’s expense, involving both Jeffrey Epstein and the president’s recent obsession with Greenland.

In his Truth Social post, Trump called the Grammy ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and threatened legal action against Noah: “I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.”

Noah returned to host the Grammys for a sixth consecutive time on CBS. During the ceremony, Noah revealed that it would be the Grammys’ last one on CBS—the event is moving to Disney+ and Hulu—and his last ceremony hosting as well, at least for the foreseeable future. After this disclosure, Noah exhibited a bit more of a devil-may-care attitude with his jokes, aiming one about the coveted song of the year category at Trump and his well-documented relationship with deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This category, said Noah, “is a Grammy that every artist wants. Almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense, because Epstein’s island is gone. He needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.” After the joke got a sustained laugh, Noah noted again that this was his last ceremony as host; as such, he had nothing to lose. (Both Trump and Clinton have denied having any connection to Epstein’s crimes.)

Needless to say, Trump was not a fan of the joke—or of Noah’s hosting ability writ large. “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable!” he posted on Truth Social at 1:01 AM. He then shouted out CBS—now run by David Ellison, the son of Trump’s longtime supporter, billionaire Larry Ellison—for ditching the Grammys, writing that the network was “lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.”

Trump turned his attention to Noah while also getting a dig in at another comedian enemy of his: Jimmy Kimmel. “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards,” said Trump, claiming to be unfamiliar with Noah’s work. For what it’s worth, Trump recently pulled the same move with album of the year winner and Super Bowl half time headliner Bad Bunny, claiming that he had “never heard of” the global Latin music superstar before ripping his work apart.

Trump then turned his attention to Noah’s insinuation that he had spent any time on Epstein’s island. “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!” wrote Trump. “I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

Jordan Klepper and Roy Wood Jr. come to Orlando for some serious comedy

Daily Show stars and comedic firebrands Jordan Klepper and Roy Wood Jr. are teaming up to say hello/goodbye to “America, for the Last Time” in December.

Billed cheekily as “a comedic town hall that digs into the issues that matter and many that do not,” Wood and Klepper are taking their show on the road to just two cities [so far announced] in this newest leg of their duo tour: Brooklyn in November and Orlando in December. A Q&A portion of the evening is tantalizingly hinted at.

Both are longtime Daily Show correspondents who have branched out into a multiplicity of solo endeavors — stand-up tours, documentaries and solo specials. And both embody deadpan [Klepper] and exasperated [Wood Jr.] humor like few others.

“America, for the Last Time” comes to the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center on Dec. 7. Tickets are on sale through the venue.

But one candidate really stood out for all the wrong reasons after Wednesday night’s debate: businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who launched a constant stream of “petty insults.”

“I have to admit, he has big dick energy,” Silverman said. “But it’s only because he’s a huge dick.”

“Nikki Haley was America’s top diplomat at the United Nations. She literally kept her cool with the worst dictators in the world,” Silverman pointed out. “And eight minutes on stage with Vivek, and she’s like, You are fucking scum.”

Silverman noted that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis once again tried to smile during the debate.

And once again, he failed, causing Silverman to wonder how “it’s possible to be 45 years old and still not know how to smile.”

Silverman did her best to mimic DeSantis’ weak attempt in the Thursday night monologue:

Asked about documents he signed related to the case, Trump said he was relying on others and wasn’t really aware of the details.

“You all think he’s full of shit, right?” Charlamagne asked his audience. “Yeah, but that’s because you all are Trump haters. I believe this man. I really do. Don Jr.’s defense is that he has no idea what’s going on in his own company and doesn’t even really understand business at all ― which seems right to me!”

Charlamagne also offered a relatable example of people signing things without knowing the details.

“Every website you’ve ever been on has asked you to sign something and you did it without reading it,” he noted. “Mark Zuckerberg might own all of our kidneys.”

“You know your campaign is going terribly wrong when people only wanna talk about your shoes,” Charlamagne said after showing a viral video of DeSantis awkwardly denying that he had lifts in his boots to appear taller.

Charlamagne said DeSantis’ apparent insecurity about his height does explain one thing.

“Now I know why DeSantis is in that huge fight with Disney. It’s not because of wokeness,” he said. “It’s because you gotta be this tall to ride the magic teacups.”

Charlamagne then brought in “Daily Show” correspondents Ronny Chieng and Troy Iwata for a deeper discussion of DeSantis’ height.

Roy Wood Jr. Leaves ‘Daily Show’ As Producers Continue Searching For New Host

    [ad_1]

    By Emerson Pearson.

Roy Wood Jr., a longtime contributor to Comedy Central’s “Daily Show”, is saying goodbye to the late-night program as executives continue their quest for a successor to former host Trevor Noah.

Wood clarified his departure to NPR, explaining: “I can’t come up with Plan B while still working with Plan A.”

He expressed his reluctance to continue as a correspondent while another host was being considered, stating: “The job of correspondent… it’s not really one where you can juggle multiple things. [And] I think eight years is a good run.”

Regarding the show’s current situation, Wood’s exit highlights Comedy Central’s challenges as it expands its search for a new leading figure. After Trevor Noah announced his exit in late 2022, guest hosts took over until the Hollywood writers strike halted production.

Initially, Comedy Central had seemed to favour Hasan Minhaj as a leading candidate for the hosting role. However, this decision appeared to be reversed after a New Yorker report questioned Minhaj’s autobiographical comedy routines.

The “Daily Show” is expected to resume original production on October 16, with guest hosts slated to lead the series for the rest of the year. The network aims to have identified a new host in the interim, with that person taking over by 2024.

Comedy Central issued a statement praising Roy Wood Jr. as a comedic genius and beloved teammate, crediting him with helping viewers navigate significant events like the 2016 election and the pandemic.

Noem boasted that her granddaughter, who is almost 2 years old, already owns two guns ― and a pony named Sparkles.

“When my kid was little, I was covering outlets, locking cabinets and cutting grapes in half because they might be a choking hazard,” Klepper said during his Monday night monologue. “Kristi Noem is like, ‘Here’s a shotgun. You’re on watch tonight. Sic semper tyrannis!’”

Klepper said people on the left and right alike should be able to agree on at least one thing when it comes to guns.

“You should not own a gun if you don’t know how to poop in a potty,” he said.

    Then he addressed Sparkles directly.

“Sparkles, this will not end well for you. These people are clearly insane,” he said. “Run while you still can ― there is no time for goodbyes. Go, my friend, go!”

After playing another clip of Noem, Klepper’s advice to Sparkles grew even more urgent.

“Seriously, Sparkles, this family is fucking nuts!” he warned. “Get out of there! Trust no one! Sic semper tyrannis!”

He also played a montage of speakers at the NRA event blaming gun violence on everything but guns ― and showed exactly where this line of false logic has taken the nation:

Or as Wayans put it in his Thursday night monologue: “An anti-gay Republican just got caught in a thirst trap.”

Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, who has supported laws targeting the LGBTQ community, has been commenting on a 20-year-old man’s “thirst trap” pics, including comments such as “love it” and clapping emojis.

When the story broke, a spokesperson for McNally fired back:

“Trying to imply something sinister or inappropriate about a great-grandfather’s use of social media says more about the mind of the left-wing operative making the implication than it does about Randy McNally.”

    Wayans wasn’t convinced.

“I love his excuse, though. His excuse is he’s a great-grandfather,” the comic/actor said. “That doesn’t make it better. The worse part is you know he probably called his grandson in to teach him how to use Instagram.”

  • ‘Daily Show’ Guest Hasan Minhaj Has Filthiest Explanation For Tucker Carlson

‘Daily Show’ Guest Hasan Minhaj Has Filthiest Explanation For Tucker Carlson

    [ad_1]

Minhaj went through the explosive court documents released in recent days that show Carlson and others at the right-wing network knew Donald Trump and his representatives were lying with their claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

But they went on the air with those claims anyway, according to the documents.

Minhaj said one behind-the-scenes message “truly freaked me out.”

It was a message from Carlson warning that viewers might leave for Newsmax if Fox News didn’t toe the Trump line and spread his conspiracy theories.

“He’s saying, ‘If I don’t say this bullshit, my viewers will leave me,’” Minhaj translated. “This whole time we thought Fox News was manipulating its viewers. But it turns out the viewers were manipulating Fox News.”

Then he offered up his explanation of Carlson’s behavior:

“Just think of it like this: Tucker Carlson is a moral vacuum. A hole, if you will, who glorifies election deniers. So, a glory hole. And his viewers expect him to please them with his mouth, and he’s constantly terrified that they’ll find a new, more satisfying glory hole. And that is why Tucker Carlson will never stop sucking.”

Handler’s skit showed how she has practically superhuman powers because she doesn’t have children ― or at the very least can spend the day doing “whatever the fuck I feel like.”

That triggered both Carlson and a guest on his show as well as others in right-wing media, and Handler said that proves her point.

“Why would I even need my own children when I get to hear these crybabies all the time?” she asked.

Then, she had a question just for Carlson.

“Are you really upset about how much freedom I have ― or are you upset that you haven’t been able to take it away from me yet?” she asked, then promised to keep “triggering” him with more videos.

“I think we both know that you are hate-masturbating to me, and I’m down with that,” she said:

Right-wing figures have blamed the military’s recruitment problems on wokeness, but Silverman spotted a new poll of teens and young adults that finds the top reason they’re not enlisting is that they don’t want to die.

“Only Republicans would have the freakin’ lips to blame the lack of army recruitment on wokeness when the number one reason [is] that people really like not dying,” she said. “These Gen Z kids are like, why would I go get shot in the Middle East when I can get shot in the comfort of my middle school?”

Comic/actor Silverman sarcastically added: “I’m kidding. That doesn’t happen in America.”

She also revealed why it’s a non-issue in the military in her Tuesday night monologue:

Yet in the new poll, just 5% named “wokeness” as a reason for not enlisting. The much bigger reasons include fear of injury or death, post-traumatic stress disorder, leaving friends and family, and putting life on hold.

  • Jon Stewart Grills Disgraceful Attorney General Who Can’t Let Go of Trump’s Fake Election Conspiracy

Jon Stewart Grills Disgraceful Attorney General Who Can’t Let Go of Trump’s Fake Election Conspiracy

    [ad_1]

Another day, another interview where Jon Stewart elegantly grills a Republican politician until he doesn’t just feel the heat, he fully chars. This time around, the host of AppleTV+’s The Problem recently sat down with Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who, despite being able to admit that Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, can’t come out and clearly say that there was zero election fraud.

In the interview, set to air in this Friday’s episode of The Problem, Stewart is flabbergasted that Brnovich is conducting numerous investigations into reports of voter fraud based on the ex-president’s baseless conspiracy theories. “Donald Trump lost Arizona, period,” Brnovich starts. But, he hedges when Stewart asks if he can just plainly confirm that Trump’s claims of voter fraud were completely unfounded. Brnovich, seemingly trying to play both sides, notes that there are still ongoing investigations and that people can draw their own conclusions from the results.

“People cannot draw their own conclusions!” Stewart replies. “That’s the point of the law. The law is you have fact and you have fiction. And the fact is the election in Arizona was well-run, not stolen, and not fraudulent.”

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Stewart, the former host of The Daily Show, is in sharp form in the interview, grilling Brnovich for knowing the truth and refusing to state it plainly to the people of Arizona, nipping the voter fraud theories in the bud once and for all. Stewart also brought the facts, reading out Trump’s false claim that hundreds of thousands of ballots were illegally cast in Arizona, resulting in his loss. “The truth is none of that was real,” Stewart told Brnovich, pressing him to agree that Trump was lying all along. Brnovich sidesteps every opportunity Stewart provides him to confirm that the election was not stolen.

“This is blowing my mind,” Stewart says with a laugh, echoing audience sentiments.

The interview is reminiscent of another one Stewart recently conducted for The Problem with Arkansas attorney general Leslie Rutledge, who appeared on the show to defend her state’s senseless ban on transgender children receiving gender-affirming medical care. Stewart calmly eviscerated all of her transphobic talking points. The interview went viral, with Stewart getting praise for standing up to the attorney general and using his platform to deliver an array of indisputable, science-based facts about the importance of gender-affirming care.

    Content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

The Problem with Jon Stewart is the TV host’s grand return to the world of political late-night TV. The show, now in its second season, airs weekly and features Stewart taking an in-depth look at topics ranging from gender to taxes to globalization. The upcoming episode featuring Brnovich revolves around the U.S. midterm elections.

Previously, Stewart hosted The Daily Show, Comedy Central’s satirical, political late-night series, from 1999 to 2015. During his tenure, he conducted a series of razor-sharp interviews with political and cultural adversaries, including media figures like Jim Cramer and Grover Norquist. He also memorably ridiculed future Fox News blowhard Tucker Carlson when the two appeared together on CNN’s series Crossfire in 2004—a roasting from which Carlson has never recovered.

Since returning to the form in The Problem, Stewart’s interview style has become less comedic and more incisive, holding each interviewee in feather-light crosshairs. It’s a welcome transition, an evolution in style from one of late night’s rising elder statesman.
