    This year’s African American Heritage Festival explores the theme, Red, White, Blue, and Black, highlighting the often-overlooked stories of Black military service throughout American history. In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, we’ll examine how African American service members have shaped, and been shaped by, the nation they served.

    Join Charlotte Museum of History for a full day of thought-provoking panels, engaging speakers, powerful performances, vibrant art, and local vendors and organizations, all centered around the legacy of Black military contributions.

    From the Revolution to present day, reflect on themes of service, sacrifice, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom and equality.

    The Filipino-American Community of the Carolinas is hosting a Filipino Festival on Saturday, November 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., at Urban District Market, 2315 N Davidson Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.

    The festival celebrates the flavors and cultures of the Philippines with authentic food, shopping, performances, and tiangge (flea market.)

    This is a free event and open to all ages.

    • 10 a.m.: Food trucks and Tiangge begin
    • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Afternoon Performances (Opening Remarks, Purple Remedy, Ran-ran, Dance Philippines, Cambodian Dancers, Angelyn Guardiario, Pinoy Noir Lite, Kultura Filipina dance and workshop)

    UNC Charlotte’s International Festival, a popular, free festival that started in 1975, is taking place September 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Admission and parking are free.

    This year the International Festival is part of the Charlotte International Arts Festival.

    Fall is looking great around Charlotte, whether you’re looking for something spooky or totally kid-friendly! Check out our HUGE list of fall festivals, big lists of Halloween parties, and Trick or Treat events, plus our list of Charlotte area haunted trails and the best Charlotte area pumpkin patches, hayrides and corn mazes!

    The festival takes place at Barnhardt Student Activity Center, 9290 Barnhardt Lane, Charlotte, NC.

    The festival features:

    • Booths sharing the diverse cultures of 40 nations
    • Dance performances
    • Music performances
    • International Game Zone
    • Parade of Nations, showcasing the different communities’ traditional clothing.

    Booths, Games and Food

    Booths will be operated by UNC Charlotte’s international students, as well as members of Charlotte’s international community. The booths will include arts, crafts and attire.

    Many booths are offering international food for sale. Please bring cash. There are some ATMs on campus, but lines can be long.

    At the International Game Zone, you can participate in and learn about the cultural significance of games. Try out archery, play life-sized chess, or join a soccer match.

    The Yiasou Greek Festival is returning in 2025!

    It will take place September 5 to 7, 2025:

    • Friday, September 5: 11 a.m. to 10 pm.
    • Saturday, September 6: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Sunday, September 7: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    The festival takes place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Boulevard.

    Admission is $5, with free admission for children under age 12.

    The festival, one of Charlotte’s most anticipated events of the year, features:

    • The address is 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC.
    • CATS/Bus/Lynx Light Rail – The Festival is less than a mile from the East/West Boulevard Lynx station.
    • You can park at INLIVIAN Housing Redifined, 400 East Boulevard, after 5 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. It’s about two blocks away.
    • Side street parking is available on nearby Dilworth neighboring streets, adhere to posted parking guidelines. Please do not block any driveways.

    Food at the festival
