    1. Coronation Street spoilers: Bethany faces a masked intruder

Bethany finally returns home from the hospital after her terrible ordeal in Turkey. Sarah gets a call from an unknown number. But she’s too distracted by her emotional daughter to pick up.

It appears Damon is trying to get through to her…

After settling Bethany down in the flat, Sarah pops to the shops to pick up some food.

However, Bethany hears a strange sound and comes out from her bedroom to see a masked intruder in the living room.

She scrambles to hide herself, but is she too late?

    2. Gail gets rushed to hospital

The Platts’ luck seems to be getting worse as Gail gets rushed away in an ambulance.

Carla tells David and Shona that she’s made an offer on the Platt house. They’re not happy to hear the news…

Later on, David and Sarah pick a fight with Jesse, clearly not trusting him. Feeling at the end of her tether, Gail then tells the kids to leave.

Jesse puts himself to work by trying to locate Lily’s bicycle pump. He rummages in a cupboard, but ends up making a shocking discovery.

Jesse doesn’t have time to dwell, however, as Gail calls out. He finds her struggling to breathe and clutching her arm in pain.

An ambulance is then quickly called.

Feeling overwhelmed, she darts out of the flat, leaving Lauren and the social worker behind.

Is Lauren’s presence just too much for Dee-Dee to cope with?

    1. Coronation Street spoilers for next week: Joel’s body is found

The week starts with Joel’s investigation in full swing. Craig and Kit sit down and watch the CCTV from a train station car park.

Both are shocked to see Joel and then his dad around a locker. Following the lead, Kit interviews Gus in a desperate attempt to reveal the truth.

Later on, three lads are passing by the river and see a body floating in the water. Police believe the body to be Joel’s.

Kit steals himself to break the news to Dee-Dee and Lauren at the hospital, while Lisa breaks the news to people in the Rovers.

Meanwhile, coroners undergo a shocking post mortem, which reveals he was already dead before he was chucked into the river.

The potential suicide has now switched to a murder investigation. Police draw up their suspects…

    2. The suspects are lined up

Could it be Lauren? Could it be Mason? Police are investigating all lines…

Kit first questions Lauren and asks where she was on September 27, the night of Joel’s death.

Elsewhere, Dee-Dee reveals to Ed and Ronnie that Joel was murdered…

More details of the post mortem are revealed, which say that Joel died from two blows to the head with a heavy weapon, most likely a crowbar.

While on the cobbles, DS Swain learns from Yasmeen that she threw Mason out because he had a crowbar, something which puts him as a main suspect.

Ever the protective mother, Lisa tells Betsy to stay away from Mason, which only leaves her intrigued.

Betsy warns Mason that the police are onto him. Hearing her warning, Mason disposes of the crowbar in a bin behind the factory.

However, it doesn’t go smoothly as he is caught in the act by Kit.

Still in despair and trying to patch things up, Daniel explains to Sarah how Bethany has got it into her head that he won’t want to be with her as she now has a stoma bag.

Daniel emphasises this means nothing to him, but it doesn’t seem to be getting through to an insecure Bethany.

However, the next action is… questionable.

Later, Jenny tells Daisy that she bumped into Daniel and recounted his relationship struggles.

This makes her determined and Daisy sets off to the hospital, to put Bethany straight…

Bethany’s medical flight was no small purchase. Gail is still adamant about selling the house.

However, David is still on edge and has been carefully going over his finances to see if he can buy the house.

He feels particularly mistrusting after Jesse offers to lend a hand and reveals he’s taking Gail on a trip to Whitby. Could there be an ulterior motive?

The younger Platts think so. Sarah and David take a moment to discuss his supposedly ‘strange’ behaviour. However, the conversation is cut by the arrival of an estate agent putting up a “for sale” sign. David reacts expectedly…

Jesse, unaware to their suspicions, tells Gail he wants to get to know her kids. He treats David, Sarah and Nick to lunch in the Rovers.

There, the kids quiz him on his finances and he admits he’s awaiting some cash after he sold his home.

Elsewhere, Sarah accuses Adam of stealing Damon’s money from the lock-up. Adam assures her he had nothing to do with it, nor did Daniel and the most likely suspect is Damon’s cousin who went to ‘check’ on it.

At the lunch, David advises Sarah to forget about Damon’s missing money, but she’s not done yet.

Adam stirs the pot as he says Jesse may have overheard her and David discussing the missing money and Sarah becomes adamant that Jesse took it. She follows Jesse after he has to leave early.

    What could she find?

At the Bistro, Nick gets a concerning call revealing that Rowan is pleading not guilty. He divulges this to David, and adds the family will have to go to trial against Rowan.

Trying to take his mind of things, Nick flirts with a customer, but doesn’t realise Sam is watching.

Sam takes matters into his own hands and tells the customer his dad is engaged and not available.

In an attempt to reignite Nick and Leanne’s love, Sam prepares a romantic meal at the flat.

Coronation Street confirms Nathan Curtis is returning to Weatherfield

    [ad_1]

It’s all connected to the disappearance of Lauren Bolton – but does he have anything to do with it? And how will Bethany cope when she sees him again?

He’s back and that can only mean trouble (Credit: ITV)

Nathan Curtis returns to Coronation Street

Sick Nathan got Bethany to fall in love with him in Coronation Street back in 2017. He plied her with booze and drugs and then forced her to have sex with his friends.

She escaped as he was trying to take her abroad to sell her to sex-trafficking ring.

Bethany will spot him in the crowd at a reconstruction of Lauren’s last known movements. It sends her mind spinning as she was convinced he was still in jail.

When she discovers he was released some time ago and is working nearby, she is convinced he knows what happened to Lauren. Determined to bring him to justice, Bethany is forced to relive her horrific past once again.

But is she right? Does Nathan know where Lauren is?

For his part, he’s determined to prove he’s a changed man. However does a leopard really change his spots?

    Chris Harper on his comeback

Speaking about his return to the show, Chris Harper, who plays Nathan, said: “I was emotional when I was told about Nathan’s potential return. During the 18 months he was in it before, hundreds of people shared with me how the storyline reflected something they, or someone they loved, had lived through. It remains important to keep them in mind as we continue Bethany’s story.”

He also went on to thank the charities who have helped the soap with the storylines.

“Once again, I am grateful for the ongoing support of Barnardo’s, NSPCC, S.H.E.UK, and all the people who trusted me last time. We have another chance to raise an issue that affects so many lives, so often shrouded in shame.”

On the character of Nathan, Chris admitted: “I do love playing Nathan though. He is funny, deceitful, slippery, manipulative and ruthless. Now he is also under a lot of pressure too. This new storyline is absolutely full of twists.

“It really is good to be back on the hallowed cobbles. So much has happened since we saw Nathan sent to prison, but Coronation Street is a constant. I feel like the cast, crew and the whole team are old friends.”

  • Coronation Street newcomer Emrhys Cooper reveals his real-life experience of cults as he explains more about Rowan

Coronation Street newcomer Emrhys Cooper reveals his real-life experience of cults as he explains more about Rowan

    [ad_1]

Emrhys Cooper has arrived in Coronation Street, playing sinister cult leader Rowan Cunliffe. He’s wowing Leanne and making his presence felt already.

He may seem charming now, but it’s not long until Toyah starts to be suspicious about what his real motives are. Will Leanne be drawn into a creepy cult?

Actor Emrhys Cooper has taken on the role of Rowan, and in a strange coincidence, he’s got personal experience of cults after a difficult experience with his parents.

We sat down for a chat with Emrhys to find out all about drawing on his own life for the role, and what made him swap the bright lights of Hollywood for Weatherfield!

Leanne is Rowan’s first target on the Street – but not his last! (Credit: ITV)

    Dancing Christmas tree!

Emrhys started his career as a dancer, but he was ambitious! After dancing in the West End and even performing as a dancing Christmas tree in the Corrie panto, he decided to head to Los Angeles.

He appeared in shows including CSI New York, Person of Interest,  Desperate Housewives, Mamma Mia, and Vanity. He’s written and directed two films, including The Shuroo Process which is based on his own experiences and is all about someone who joins a cult!

And now he’s come to Coronation Street.

    Coming home

Weatherfield is quite a change from LA but Emrhys says he wanted to come home and this was the perfect excuse.

“I’m loving it,” he says. “I’ve actually been yearning to come back for a few years now, but I didn’t want to come back without a job. The job and the role are a dream come true for me and I’m embracing the change with open arms.”

And as a lifelong fan of Corrie, he says he’s “having the best time”!

He says: “I always looked up to Jane Danson (who plays Leanne) and I’ve been a fan of her work and I love sharing a screen with an icon!”

But the audition proved a bit of a challenge.

“I actually filmed the audition when I was sick as a dog with the flu but I gave it my all. Offered the role on 20 December. It was the best Christmas present ever!”

Emrhys loves working with Jane Danson, who plays Leanne (Credit: ITV)

    Art imitating real life

He says he couldn’t believe the coincidences between his real life and the part of Rowan.

“I was immediately struck by how well I knew the character,” he tells us. “Some roles just fit like a glove. I’m really grateful that Coronation Street saw that in me. I have all that knowledge but they didn’t know that. It was a wonderful surprise.”

So what was Emrhys’s real-life experience that made him so keen to take on the role of Rowan?

He says that he grew up in Totnes, Devon, which is a very new-age town with, as Emrhys says, “lots of gurus and holistic doctors”.

“My parents encountered a few Rowan types over the years,” he explains. “I didn’t really understand it growing up but as I got older and witnessed it first-hand, I understood some of the dangers of these type of characters. My mother’s health was severely affected by some very dangerous advice she received, which is still very upsetting to me.”

Is Rowan going to put Leanne in danger? (Credit: ITV)

    Leanne in danger?

But is Leanne in danger as she gets more involved? Who is the mysterious Rowan?

“Rowan is charming, not slimy, he’s relatable and down to earth,” Emrhys tells us. “His main role is recruitment. He travels all over to present conferences and seminars identifying the more receptive people and encouraging them into the fold.”

But he adds: “What we’ve seen so far is only the tip of the iceberg. Rowan is very clever and very good at what he does. He can see the people who are susceptible because they’ve been through trauma – he can see that Leanne is packing a lot! He knows the buttons to press. He’s not fazed by Toyah’s reaction to him, and there will be other characters who find themselves in his thrall and may find themselves in the Institute!”

Stu is eaten up with guilt over Dom and Eliza

In the café, Eliza sits with her earpods in, refusing to engage with anyone. Yasmeen and Alya look on worried – knowing how upset she was when Dom failed to turn up on Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, Stu feels wretched for paying Dom off. He calls Dom and leaves a message for him, saying that Eliza is very upset. He reveals that he thinks he may have made a mistake.

Will Dom answer Stu’s calls for help?

    Stu tells Yasmeen the truth

Later, Stu admits to Yasmeen that it’s his fault that Dom disappeared. He reveals how he paid Dom £10k to stay away from Eliza.

As he explains how he thought it was in Eliza’s best interests, Yasmeen is horrified. He goes on to tell her how Dom now won’t come back.

Afterwards, Yasmeen tells Roy what Stu has done. She laments the fact that she’s fallen for another man who does nothing but lie to her after what happened with ex-husbands Sharif and Geoff.

But what will she do next?

    Yasmeen counsels guilty Stu

Stu tells Yasmeen and Alya that he doesn’t want Eliza blaming herself for her Dad’s disappearance. He suggests that it would be best if he tells her the truth about Dom and the £10k.

Yasmeen tells Stu that he should probably not tell Eliza – as he’s the only family she has now, and she’d be terribly hurt and betrayed.

Will Stu listen to Yasmeen’s advice?

Coronation Street: Is the Rovers closing for good? Soap reveals pub is being turned into flats

    [ad_1]

The Rovers in Coronation Street is up for sale again. And it looks like a property developer is going to buy it and turn it into flats.

Jenny Connor was left devastated by the turn of events tonight (Friday November 17). But just what will the pub’s future be?

Is the Rovers really closing for good in Coronation Street?

After serial killer Stephen’s antics there, current owners, Waterfords, believe no one will want to drink in the boozer so are getting rid.

The only interested party so far is a property company who want to demolish the building and make it into residential apartments.

Next week Ronnie and Ed are lined up to do the work and transform the beloved boozer into swanky flats. Jenny is devastated at what she sees as their betrayal.

However, long-time fans of the show needn’t panic: it’s already been confirmed that the iconic pub is going nowhere.

    Who buys the Rovers?

Although we don’t know who will buy and run the Rovers yet, what we do know is the pub is going to reopen in time to see in 2024.

The Rovers is boarded up at the moment, but it won’t stay that way for long.

Teasing what’s to come for the iconic pub, show boss Iain MacLeod told Entertainment Daily and other media recently: “It reopens on New Year’s Eve. But, the interesting thing about it is the circumstances of it becoming open again are all tied up with Stephen’s legacy.

“The reopening of it will be based on this slightly shaky foundation of a criminal act.”

Ooh, so what does that mean? Is Stephen’s stolen Underworld money found and given to the benefactor of his will, Audrey? Will she be the pub’s new landlady?

Or did Stephen put the cash in someone else’s name? Girlfriend-at-the time, Jenny, perhaps. Could she be back behind the bar as the owner using Carla’s cash illegally?

    Fans react

Viewers always knew the Rovers wouldn’t close its doors for good. They have previously shared their thoughts on X.

“Everyone knows it’s going to re-open and be back to normal by at least Christmas, right?” pointed out one fan.

“Can’t take the Rovers story seriously, we all know it’s going nowhere,” laughed a second.

“It’s so obvious The Rovers will soon be open again. It’s an integral part of the programme. It could do with a makeover though,” said another.
