I'm Obsessed With Jeans—These Perfect Under-$150 Pairs Have My Attention

    [ad_1]

I am what you might call denim obsessed. Rarely is there a week (maybe a day even!) I don’t wear jeans—after all, what is more versatile than a good pair? It’s arguably the most important piece in a well-balanced wardrobe, and I am always on the hunt for my next favorite pair. Although I love designer denim, my budget does not allow me to pay top dollar whenever I get that shopping itch. Luckily, I’ve found plenty of affordable options in the denim space that are just as fashionable and high-quality as the higher-priced pairs, all $150 and under.

From the cult-favorite Levi’s Ribcage to awesome ’90s fits from Madewell (Can we talk about those Magic Pockets?), I simply can’t get enough of these affordable jeans options. They solve any of my outfits problems on the daily, as they can be styled with all the closet classics, whether that’s a favorite going-out top for dinner with friends; a cozy, chunky knit on the weekend; or a structured blazer for work meetings. Go ahead—wear them on repeat. I can guarantee these affordable jeans will become your weekly go-tos.

  • These 7 Handbag Trends Are Already Defining 2024 Fashion

These 7 Handbag Trends Are Already Defining 2024 Fashion

    [ad_1]

Thanks to the spring/summer 2024 shows that took place back in September, we’re pretty well aware of the trends that will come to define next year’s fashion landscape. In the apparel space, red’s set to dominate, with various shades imprinting on many of the most talked-about collections, as is heavy satin and more sophisticated takes on transparency. For shoes, expect a bevy of flower and bow embellishments and continued success for Mary Janes. And then comes the issue of handbags.

After looking and looking again at every runway image from the spring season, sifting out the ones that feature bags, and then categorizing said bags for the sake of this story, my grasp on next year’s priority purses is firm to say the least. And no, I won’t gate-keep my findings. From lady-like pocketbooks to the return of clutches, everything you need to know about the handbags set to define 2024 fashion is below.

  • I Only Wear Flats With Jeans—These Are the Styles I'm Wearing in 2024

I Only Wear Flats With Jeans—These Are the Styles I'm Wearing in 2024

    [ad_1]

Denim and flats make a pretty unparalleled combo for me. On the daily, I am running to and from brand appointments, schlepping my laptop on the subway from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back, normally not returning home until after dinner. Fussy outfits are a no-no, and uncomfortable shoes just won’t do when you’re running all over town for 12 hours a day. Flats with jeans has become my perfect outfit godsend, a solution for both my achy soles and the daily dilemma of what to wear. No longer am I subscribing to trendy footwear (although, let’s face it—flats have been having a moment) or stuffy outfits. I have been opting for comfort instead.

That’s not to say that I have become lazy with my dressing. Flats with jeans actually can be quite stylish. When styled in a classic way—my go-tos include a good blazer, leather belt, and simple T-shirt—the combination is timeless. From the ever-present mashup of straight-leg jeans and loafers (I’ll admit I own at least four different pairs of G.H.Bass Weejuns) to the mix of slouchier, wide-leg jeans with ballet flats (hitting directly on a wearable way to do ballet-core), I know these will become instant repeats in your weekly outfit rotation. Take a peek below at some of my favorite flats-and-jeans combos to inspire you.

“Sugar Plum Fairy” Makeup Is 2023's Official Holiday Beauty Look—Shop My Edit

    [ad_1]

Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top 30 must-haves or current wish-list items.

The Nutcracker is the pièce de résistance of the winter ballet season. Most ballerinas only dream of dancing the highly coveted role of the Sugar Plum Fairy, but beauty icon and former ballerina Hailey Bieber did at 16 years old. Why am I telling you this? The storied character has served as major inspo for Bieber’s recent beauty looks. I think her festive take is a sweeter version of the balletcore makeup we’ve been seeing this year. Think dewy, rosy cheeks, a frosty highlight, and shimmery, petal-pink lips—all inspired by the Sugar Plum Fairy’s pink and purple tutu, glistening crown, and satin pointe shoes. As a ballet dancer, I knew this would become my go-to look for the holiday season. Keep reading to see all the products you need to re-create this iconic vibe.

I may reside in New York City, but Los Angeles is the place I call home. I was born in South L.A. and raised just north of the Valley, and I’m excited to share a few of my favorite things that make this city special. If you’ve never been before, you should know that L.A. is huge. There are corners of the city I have yet to explore, so curating the perfect list of how to spend 48 hours there was a difficult task, to say the least. It’s a multicultural metropolis filled with incredible cuisines, museums, history, and activities, but when I’m pinched for time, there are a few hits I turn to. Below, you’ll find my top restaurants and free(ish) activities. Plus, I’m revealing my go-to hotel that everyone needs to stay in. 65 Gifts That Would Make Any Homebody Happy

There are plenty of gift guides out there for the fashion friend who has it all, for the person who loves to host dinner parties, or for the Zoomer in your life who has an average daily screen time of nine hours. There’s a large hole missing, though: a curated, thoughtful gift guide for your laziest, most sloth-like friend (read: me).

This has been a *year* with too many questionable, chaotic, and high-energy moments to count. While everyone is getting ready to celebrate the holidays and party 2023 away, I’m more than happy chilling at home under a weighted blanket and watching Sex and the City reruns. We all have a friend whose definition of fun is lighting a candle and reading or experimenting in the kitchen instead of going out on the town. For all the homebodies in our lives, it may be hard to gift them with something that feels exciting and fresh to capture their personality. Thankfully, as a lazy girl myself, I’ve rounded up more than 65 thoughtful gifts your besties will thank you for.

I Just Came Back From Copenhagen— This is the Sneaker Trend I Spotted Everywhere

    [ad_1]

It’s no surprise that the stylish, colorful Scandi crowd has a few sartorial rules they live by. Number one: an outfit is (nearly always) boring if you’re wearing all-black. Number two: flat shoes are an essential if you’re walking or biking anywhere in the city.

After spending almost a week in Copenhagen earlier this fall and winter, I’ve got to admit, I’ve been coming around to the colorful sneaker trend that the Danish set swears by. I picked up not one, but two (!!!) saccharine sneakers while I was in the Scandi city and, as expected, they don’t disappoint.

While colorful sneakers can be daunting to style, though, there’s a few outfit formulas that the  Copenhagen crowd has perfected to a science. Below, scroll for colorful sneaker outfit inspiration and shop some of the best, can’t-miss pairs of the season.

10 Chic Winter Trends European Girls Are Wearing on Vacation

    [ad_1]

Typically when we cover “vacation outfits” you’ll see many sun-drenched photos on the rocky beaches of Mallorca and the like. But today, I’m focusing on the cozy winter vacations that European girls take. Instead of jetting off to Italy or the South of France, lately, chic European girls have been visiting cities like Copenhagen, New York, or Paris, or opting for something a bit more rural such as the English countryside or the Scottish Highlands. Accordingly, their recent vacation outfits are basically the opposite of the bikini-clad ones we see throughout the summer.

As to be expected, these chic vacation outfits contained plenty of current trends, and I’m here to highlight the standout ones. From a certain coat trend that’s perfect for Paris to the shoes that are just right in Wales, these cozy cold-weather trends are great ones to try whether you’re traveling or staying local this winter. 37 Handbags That Any Fashion Person Would Want as a Gift

    [ad_1]

Confession time: I am one of those people… You know, a bag lady. Despite pleas from loved ones, I can’t stop buying more handbags. In fact, I could consider it a full-fledged hobby at this point because I’m constantly searching for rising brands, secondhand gems, and new trends. It may be annoying to some, but true fashion insiders know that this accessory is one of the best investments you can make.

Not only can a handbag make or break an outfit, but designer accessories can also retain and gain value over time. Unsurprisingly, then, there’s no better gift idea than giving them a handbag. But if you are shopping for someone who’s a self-professed bag person (like me), you can’t give them any old purse. You’ll want to give them a bag that can retain value and become a pivotal part of their wardrobe.

In that vein, I did the research to identify 37 purses that will retain value and remain stylish well into 2024. Keep scrolling to see the best handbag gift ideas at every price point.

  • No Joke, I Got Stopped on the Street While Wearing This Luxe-Looking Macy's Coat

No Joke, I Got Stopped on the Street While Wearing This Luxe-Looking Macy's Coat

    [ad_1]

I have a love-hate relationship with statement coats. Some days, they’re my worst enemy when it comes to dressing, especially on a day I’m feeling fashionably burnt out and want to simply put on an all-black outfit and move on with my day. Other times, though, an eye-catching coat is the outfit, allowing everything else to come secondary and serving past its purpose of providing me warmth. While it’s hard to strike a balance between cute and hypothermia-proof, I think I’ve found it in the most unlikely of places: the Macy’s sale rack.

Before you stop reading, hear me out. The retailer isn’t the obvious choice when it comes to shopping for chic winter attire. I live down the street from the brand’s flagship New York City store, so I’ll occasionally pop in on my way back from work or when I need to do some retail therapy. It is, however, a far cry from the tried-and-true retailers I check every morning. When I saw this polka-dot trench at a recent event for the brand’s new womenswear launch, I was sold. It looks eerily similar to another coat by a well-known designer from years ago that sold out once, and I’ve been hunting at The RealReal ever since. After seeing it, I had to test it out myself.

From New York to Seoul to Porto, this trench coat came with the compliments attached. Everywhere I go, I get asked at least twice about it—mostly from other chic editors whose jaws drop when I tell them it’s from Macy’s. While wearing it during Seoul Fashion Week, I got flagged down by a group of fashion students, who asked where I bought it. When strangers start feeling your outfit, that’s when you know you did something right.
