6 Sneakers That Will Make Your Basic Jeans Look Very 2024

    [ad_1]

On any given day, I’m usually wearing some combination of jeans and slingbacks, jeans and sandals, or jeans and sneakers. (Can you tell I love jeans?). But sneakers, in particular, have been on my mind lately as I’ve been eager to add some fresh new styles to my wardrobe to give my jeans outfits (or any outfits for that matter) an of-the-moment look.

While I’m very much a shoe person, I wouldn’t say sneakers are my specialty, so I went on a deep dive (I’m talking weeks of research analyzing everyone from celebrities to the street style set.) to unearth what styles, brands, aesthetics, and silhouettes are dominating the fashion scene this season.

Below, I’m sharing six styles setting the tone for sneaker trends this spring. These are unquestionably the perfect silhouettes to make your jeans look very 2024. Keep scrolling to see and shop the trends.

  • H&M Is Really Good Right Now—30 Anti-Trend Finds You'll Wear Forever

H&M Is Really Good Right Now—30 Anti-Trend Finds You'll Wear Forever

    [ad_1]

Contrary to what the name implies, you don’t have to spend a lot to pull off the quiet luxury look. In fact, I was recently doing some shopping on H&M’s website when I realized that the brand has so many timeless, chic pieces. Plus, its prices are unbeatable. It’s a win-win for the shopper who’s allergic to anything overly trendy but also doesn’t want to spend a fortune on a wardrobe that looks luxe. I find it hard to resist completely filling up my cart when I’m on the website.

To pull off the anti-trend look, I’m shopping for rich-textured staples, like lush sweaters and wooly coats, in mostly neutral hues. (Though, I’m always a fan of adding a pop of color.) H&M also has a surprisingly underrated selection of accessories, and I’m always partial to adding a pair of sculptural earrings or kitten heels to make a look feel a bit dressier with next to no effort. I also wanted to make sure to include plenty of outerwear in my hunt for quiet-luxury-inspired pieces since a structured coat or a sparkly cardigan can take a jeans-and-a-tee outfit to the next level.

Ahead, you’ll find 30 of the hidden gems I’m currently considering adding to my cart from H&M. Believe it or not, none are over $100, and many are under $50—refreshingly affordable. Now, you, too, can ditch anything overly trendy and stock up on stylish pieces you’ll want to wear for the long-term.

  • I'm Pretty Confident These 30 Nordstrom Items Will Sell Out by January

I'm Pretty Confident These 30 Nordstrom Items Will Sell Out by January

    [ad_1]

I’m competitive by nature. Not the kind of competitive that playing a game with me is a drag, but enough so that I don’t like to settle. For better or worse, this trait comes out in several areas of my life, not the least of which is clothes shopping. When I find a desirable piece that I know is going to be here today gone tomorrow, I can’t help but feel the heat to get my hands on it.

There are several Nordstrom pieces that I currently feel this way about and I’m pretty sure you will too. You’ve been on the hunt for a red knit sweater? Well, I’ve found the perfect pullover mockneck. You’d like to get in on the barrel leg jeans trend? I’ve got you there, too. There’s also a pair of grommeted kitten heels I’ve included on multiple shopping lists because…they’re that good. So, if you’d like to take a break from all the holiday hoopla to treat yourself, have at it! I can say with the utmost certainty these pieces will sell out come January.

Trust Me—These Are the Only 6 Trendy Winter Buys You Need to Shop Right Now

    [ad_1]

Sure, trends come and go, but, this winter we’ve been blessed with some seriously wearable ones. So, it’s understandable if you’ve been on the fence about which items you should add to your cart. While trends aren’t necessarily meant to be long-lasting pieces (although the quiet luxury aesthetic could give us a run for our money, here), it’s always helpful to ask yourself if you can get at least two seasons of wear out of a purchase. On the flip side, since trends are fleeting, buying something “just for fun” is also completely valid (and, well, fun!)

This list is comprised of both those sensibilities. They’re the six pieces that we keep coming back to and frequently stop our scrolling to admire. Not to mention that many of them would make excellent holiday party attire. If you needed permission to press “Add to Cart,” consider it done. The only buys you really need before spring are just a moment away.

  • The Luxe Beauty Products I'd Go Into a *Teeny* Bit of Credit Card Debt For

The Luxe Beauty Products I'd Go Into a *Teeny* Bit of Credit Card Debt For

    [ad_1]

Let’s get one thing clear: I love my 99-cent lipsticks just as much as my $90 ones. However, there are certain products on the pricey side that I consider to be the best. As a beauty editor, I recognize the privilege I have to be able to test high-end makeup and skincare for a living. And I’m here to argue that some of it is worth splurging on.

I won’t say that all luxury beauty products are necessarily better than mid-priced or drugstore products. Though, I think it’s on a case-by-case or product-by-product basis. After all, beauty is personal and subjective. Also, some high-end beauty products are priced that way for a reason. For example, they may contain premium ingredients sourced from some mountaintop in a corner of the world the average person would never be able to visit or are processed using proprietary technological methods.

There’s also the longevity factor. Luxury may come with a hefty price tag, but sometimes, the efficiency of the product is well worth it. Or if it’s something that will last you a while, the investment makes more sense over time. On the other hand, there’s plain ol‘ preference. Maybe a $50 eyeliner works better on your lids than a $5 one.

Ahead, find 15 of my favorite luxury beauty brands and products worth spending a little more on, from Chanel lipsticks to fancy scalp scrub. Consider adding these to your cart if you’ve been curious about high-end beauty. You deserve it.

  • The 8 Specific Basics Cool Europeans Are Wearing With Jeans Right Now

The 8 Specific Basics Cool Europeans Are Wearing With Jeans Right Now

    [ad_1]

There’s just something about European style that we Americans can’t get enough of. Even when they’re wearing something casual and low-key, the fashion people of Paris, London, Milan, Stockholm, and other cities always seem to dress with a certain polish—and I’ll go to the ends of the internet in search of ways to re-create their looks myself. In fact, I recently did just that, and I figured I’d share my findings with you here.

Let’s start with jeans, the one item I know every one of us has in their closets right now. Europeans may be known for their sophisticated style, but they’re no strangers to good denim. The main difference in American and European denim outfits, I’ve noticed, is in how they are styled. I scrolled through the Instagram feeds of stylish Europeans for a few solid hours and can confirm that right now, the secret sauce for their denim ensembles all comes down to a handful of very specific wardrobe basics. Here, discover the items that Europeans from Paris to Stockholm are wearing with jeans now, and shop the key pieces.

    I Found Nordstrom's Best-Selling Basics, so Now I'm Spilling

    [ad_1]

We are die-hard Nordstrom fans over here—and by “we,” I mean “me.” It’s where I find myself time and time again after I’ve done a closet clean-out and need to restock with the best basic pieces. Beyond its wide selection including everything from Ugg to Madewell to Skims, it’s one of the few places I can go to grab everything I need—be it undergarments, a jacket, boots, or anything in between—and not leave with a completely depleted wallet.

In case you don’t know where to start, I went ahead and pulled the best-selling basics that are proven crowd favorites. Nordstrom has one of the best sweater offerings I’ve seen. (Seriously, its buyers know what they’re doing.) You quite literally don’t need to look anywhere else for winter boots, and I could go on and on about its puffer coats. Since I’d rather show you instead, here’s a quick roundup of all that and more. I’m on my way to add a few of these to my cart right along with you.

  • Women in Paris Will Wear These Basics With Skirts and Jeans in 2024

Women in Paris Will Wear These Basics With Skirts and Jeans in 2024

    [ad_1]

Every time I travel to Paris, I find myself enthralled by the way that French women can make simple wardrobe basics feel so pulled-together. Over the summer, I sat at a café in the Marais, watching women take their lunch break dressed in jeans, sneakers, and cute miniskirts, and I began to mentally tuck away ideas that I could bring home and make use of myself. Luckily, I realized that I could easily re-create them using items I already own. It would just take some new styling to pull it all together.

What I was particularly struck by is my French counterparts’ ability to use simple pieces like a button-down or a blazer to give a sweatshirt or sneakers a dressier feel. It’s an easy trick, but it has a big impact. Looking ahead to 2024, I’m already putting aside a fresh crop of ideas centered around the two pieces I find myself always going between: jeans and a simple skirt, like a suede mini or a silky black slip skirt. On Instagram, I’ve found some French outfits I can’t wait to re-create in New York, bringing a little bit of Parisian flair over the pond. All of these outfits manage to take simple wardrobe basics and, through thoughtful styling, make them feel more elegant than they might otherwise. Here’s my breakdown of the best basics to mix and match to re-create that Parisian sensibility.

  • 32 New J.Crew Items That Whisper “French Girl”

32 New J.Crew Items That Whisper “French Girl”

    [ad_1]

French style is, at its core, super simple, but it’s also very particular. Think of what the quintessential French muse might have in her weekly rotation, though, and a few mainstays are guaranteed—the best jeans one can get their hands on, an assortment of essential tees to pair with jeans and relaxed trousers, put-together cardigans and sweaters, blazers and tailored coats for layering, and comfortable shoes made for walking. Basically, it’s everything you’re bound to find on a trip to J.Crew’s website.

Everyone’s favorite anti-trend trend—the pieces that emulate Parisian style most—are seasonless staples you can almost bet will never go out of style. I’d say that just about sums up almost every J.Crew purchase I’ve made. Currently, the brand’s online offering has everything from embellished sweaters and cropped cardigans to tweed dresses and enough striped tops to lose count, which is all very French, if I must say. I rounded up my favorites below, just in case you were looking to restock your wardrobe with a few tried-and-true styles.

  • 7 Things I'm Buying to Make My Wardrobe Look More Expensive in 2024

7 Things I'm Buying to Make My Wardrobe Look More Expensive in 2024

    [ad_1]

With the New Year upon us, I’m doing a bit of wardrobe reflection. There’s no time like the present to take stock of what my wardrobe is lacking and start shopping for those pieces that’ll upgrade my closet in many ways. In general, an expensive-looking wardrobe is my goal—one that feels of the moment but won’t look dated in a few years. I’m prioritizing purchases that I can wear beyond 2024 and that will make my outfits look more luxe every single time.

The caveat is that I certainly don’t want to do harm to my bank account, so I’m prioritizing items that don’t cost a ton. And if they are more of an investment, I really want to get my money’s worth (as in, wear them over and over for years). If you too are in the market for a wardrobe refresh for 2024, join me and shop these seven outfit-transforming items.

  • 5 Shoe Trends Taylor Swift Always Wears

5 Shoe Trends Taylor Swift Always Wears

    [ad_1]

At 5’11, Taylor Swift already towers above many of us, but despite that, all of her favorite shoe trends are heels. She looks great in heels, so it makes sense. Much to the delight of all the Swifties out there, she’s been out and about a lot this year, with photographers following her every outfit. As an editor who covers lots of celebrity style, I don’t think I’ve missed a Taylor Swift outfit yet this year, and I’ve been looking for themes.

Swift has changed her personal style off and on over the years, but when she’s in an “era”, she really stays true to that aesthetic. I don’t personally know Swift (unfortunately), but I do think that she’s really stayed true to herself this year, and worn what she loves and feels comfortable in. On that note, I’ve noticed that for the most part, she sticks to a handful of shoe trends when she’s out in the world, and I’m here to do my due diligence and talk about them.

With that, scroll on for the five shoe trends Swift wears constantly, and shop the best pairs if she’s inspired you to dress like her.

This involves a wardrobe overhaul, but one thing I’m certain of is that I definitely don’t want to break the bank while doing it. I was checking out some of my favorite retailers to see where the best place to begin would be, and I found myself obsessing over the latest arrivals from H&M.

It still amazes me that H&M can create some of the season’s best pieces at under $100. Right now, I’m predominately shopping for wardrobe staples that can be worn a million ways, which is exactly what I found during my recent scroll. Below, find the 35 pieces I’m beginning with.

I Just Came From Australia—This Is What All the Cool Girls Were Wearing

    [ad_1]

Earlier this November, I felt downright giddy when I realized my Australia trip was right around the corner. A sunny reprieve in the middle of winter (okay, I live in California, but still)? Yes, please!

I was so blinded by my own sunny outlook that I chose to ignore my Australian relatives’ warnings. November, they warned me, was more akin to spring, and rain was far likelier than beach days. “Totally,” I agreed as I spread bikinis out on my bed.

Here’s the cold, hard truth: Melbourne is chilly. Weather-wise, it’s got the moody marine layer of San Francisco with a healthy dash of Seattle fog. It’s a gorgeous city but a gray city nonetheless! Your girl was freezing, her dreams of returning stateside a sun-kissed goddess dashed. Ever the optimist and buoyed by a daily diet of piping-hot meat pies, I chose to look on the bright side. I was 11 hours ahead of home, putting me in the unique position of living in the future, baby! With newfound zeal, I hit the streets, credit card at ready and a keen eagle eye trained on what the cool Melbourne girls were wearing.

The cool, minimal flats have been spotted on many in the fashion crowd.
