Looking for a recipe for only a few people, this is the perfect recipe to make! This crock pot turkey breast is simple and delicious!

We love easy recipes and this one is definitely that.. super simple! It’s perfect for just a few people and great for Thanksgiving. It takes practically no prep and it’s loaded in flavor. It’s one of those recipes that goes great with our creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole.
In this recipe, you can use whole cranberry sauce in the can or jellied cranberry sauce. We made this with jellied cranberry sauce, but it works with either! This is made with Lipton Onion Soup Mix but if you don’t want to use that, you can always make your own…here is our recipe.

We leave the netting on the turkey breast when we cook it in the slow cooker. It helps the turkey breast keep its shape. This is a very moist recipe and it will fall apart, so if you want to slice it on a plate, I suggest leaving it on. Also, some turkey breast comes with a gravy packet; we didn’t use that in this recipe. I would suggest keeping it and serving the gravy over mashed potatoes.


For many years we had a non-traditional Thanksgiving. We served different dishes and everyone loved it. You don’t have to go the traditional route.


This simple crock pot turkey breast is great for a few people. Only a handful of ingredients, super simple and great for the holidays eason.
Place your turkey breast (with the netting on) in the slow cooker and pour the melted butter over it.
Mix the dry onion mix and ONE can of cranberry sauce together and pour over the turkey breast.
Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3 or until the turkey test done with your meat tester (should reach 165 degrees).
Once done, remove from gravy and take off netting. Slice and place on plate. Take the other can of cranberry sauce and spoon it over the turkey breast. You can put the gravy in gravy boat to pour over turkey if you like. (the gravy is great over mashed potataoes)
The turkey breast came with a gravy packet and we didn’t use it. It would probably be delicious over mashed potatoes.

We love a good apple dessert and this one is a great one! It’s simple to make in an iron skillet but you could also make it in an a 2 quart baking dish. This is a versatile dish since we added in some great spices but you could mix it up and make it your own. You can also use any apples you like in this dish.
We used cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in this dessert but you can easily switch that up. Add in some allspice or top it with cinnamon sugar if you like. Caramel sauce is always a good addition too! Some people love cheese on apple cobbler, so if you are one of those, then definitely add it to this one.

This spiced apple cobbler has all the wonderful seasonings that go with apples. Made in an iron skillet or a 2 quart baking dish and comes together quickly.
Whisk together the brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a bowl. Toss the chopped apples in the sugar and spice mixture. Add apples to the bottom of a 10 inch iron skillet or 2 quart baking dish.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl. Stir in milk, butter, vanilla extract and egg. Spread over apples in dish. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 45 to 50 minutes until crust is done and brown on top. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream on top.
I usually sprinkle on some extra cinnamon before cooking just because my family loves it and cannot get enough of it. You could sprinkle some cheese on the apples before adding the topping if you like cheese but we like it as stated above and it is one of our favorites.

If you are a fan of Apple Pie, you will want to give these delicious muffins a try! They are easy and fantastic with a cup of coffee.
We love a good muffin, and these are great with the apple pie filling. Then you add the pecans and all the delicious spices, and you have a delightful treat! These muffins are super versatile and keep well in an airtight container. They make about 18 muffins!
These muffins could be made with any pie filling. You could also add raisins to the muffins and top these with a little brown sugar too. If you are not a fan of the spices, simply switch them up. You can use pecans, walnuts or no nuts at all. Top these with a basic powdered sugar glaze if you like. You can freeze these muffins.


I keep these in the refrigerator or a cool place. They would be great warmed up with ice cream too. You can freeze these.

These are delicious and make a wonderful breakfast on the go. The apple pie filling makes this treat super simple to make.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add the vanilla extract, buttermilk, melted butter and eggs. Mix well with a spoon.
Spray a 12 cup muffin tin, add about 1/4 cup batter to each cup. Drop about 1 tablespoon of the apple pie filling into the batter. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes until brown on top.
This recipe makes around 18 muffins.
You can make these with about any kind of pie filling. They keep well and easily reheat in the microwave. I refrigerate any leftover. We love the filling “oozing” out of the muffins. You could add raisins along with the nuts and you could sprinkle a little brown sugar and cinnamon on top before baking.

When a Georgia woman started her day by trying to make eggs before her midterm, she didn’t expect to end up in the emergency room. But she says that’s exactly what happened when her Cuisinart stainless steel pan suddenly exploded.
In a recent TikTok video that’s been viewed over 78,500 times, Annie (@anniesright) describes how it all happened.
“This morning I woke up and I was like, ‘I’m gonna get a jump start on some last-minute studying,’” she says. “I went to make myself an egg breakfast, eggs being brain food.”
She explains that she used her Cuisinart “stainless steel name-brand wedding gift pan” and heated it on an electric stove using the water-droplet test to check when it was hot enough. But the moment she tilted the pan, everything went wrong.
“I turn it to maybe like a 30 or 45-degree angle, and molten hot metal exploded on me,” she recalls. “It exploded out of my pan, all over my stove and all over the floor.”
Annie shows the aftermath in her video: metal chunks fused to her stovetop and splattered across her floor. “Got back from urgent care because molten metal dried on my finger and I had to pull it off,” she says. “Just so lucky that it didn’t get in my face or eyes.”
Annie tagged the official TikTok account for Cuisinart in the comments.
After the video spread, another TikTok creator, professional welder Anne (@highergroundwelding), shared a detailed explanation of what might’ve happened.
She said it was likely not stainless steel that melted, but the aluminum layer inside the pan. “That’s aluminum,” Anne explained. “It’s not stainless steel because when stainless steel reaches temperatures that are hot enough to melt it, it turns black and crystalline.”
Many stainless steel pans, Anne explained, have an aluminum core between two stainless layers for more even heating. Cuisinart’s stainless steel pans also have this layer of aluminum, according to their Amazon listing.
“Aluminum makes it lighter and heats more evenly—but it also melts much faster,” the welder explains.
She guessed that Annie’s stove overheated the pan past its limit. “Your pan glowed red, that’s a great way to destroy your cookware,” she said. Tipping it at an angle likely concentrated heat on a single point, which caused the aluminum to liquefy and burst through the outer layer.
“Basically, the inside of your pan became popcorn,” she said. “Pressure built up until it burst. Throw the pan away and don’t do that again, especially not with high heat.”
Other experts also advise against leaving stainless steel cookware unattended or overheating it, especially on high-powered burners. Once the aluminum inside gets too hot, it can become unstable.
And just like Anne pointed out, the bright red glow in Annie’s video was a dead giveaway that the pan had been pushed far beyond safe cooking temperatures.
People in the comments also debated the cause. Some echoed Anne’s theory, while others pointed fingers at the stove, or the brand.
“I’d bet that’s a clad pan with an aluminum core,” one user wrote. “You melted the aluminum core. The instructions probably say not to heat it that high.”
Another added, “You heated it until it was glowing. Like, glowing red. I’ve never seen that in my life.”
Others suspected a hardware failure: “Your stove coil is damaged. Your pan made a short circuit in the coil and you basically made a welder. No normal stove can melt metal like that.”

And some thought Annie should consider legal action. “Truly does feel like lawsuit material,” one viewer said.
Another added, “Send it for independent testing and see what metal it actually is. Also, sue them.”

This recipe for Amish Brown Sugar Dumplings is adapted from a recipe in a very old Amish cookbook I’ve had for years. I have added a few ingredients and used a little less sugar. It’s delicious and a wonderful dessert. We love it topped with ice cream, but whipped cream would be great too.
The Amish recipe I have does not call for the cinnamon, raisins, nuts or vanilla extract. Their recipes very often do not show exact measurements either. You can experiment with this and leave out what you don’t like, etc. The recipe above is the way I make it for my family. If you are not a fan of raisins, leave those out, too, or use craisins instead. Switch up the pecans for walnuts.


These dumplings are great reheated in the microwave or even served cold. If you like brown sugar you will love this delicious dessert.

This is an Amish recipe that my family loves. Perfect dessert for any occasion.
In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar and cinnamon. Stir in the nuts and raisins. Cut in the softened butter. Add milk and stir. The dough should come together in kind of a large ball. It should all be wet but not real sticky.
Next, combine the syrup ingredients except for the vanilla extract in a pot on top of the stove and bring to a boil. Remove the syrup, stir in the vanilla extract and pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Drop spoonfuls of the batter on top of the hot syrup. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 30 to 35 minutes until the batter is done on top
The Amish recipe I have does not call for the cinnamon, raisins, nuts or vanilla extract. Their recipes very often do not show exact measurements either. You can experiment with this and leave out what you don’t like, etc. The recipe above is the way I make it for my family.

You can switch out the cheese in this recipe to suit your taste. You can also leave out the onion and use onion powder instead if you prefer. You could also add cauliflower to this soup it you like. Want to add some protein? Add some rotisserie chicken!


For a hearty way to enjoy this soup, serve it in a bread bowl. Alternatively, you could top it with croutons for a little extra something, or even add chopped bacon too. Of course we love it with our fried cornbread.

This Broccoli Cheese Soup is super versatile and loaded with flavor and the best part is it comes together really quickly!
In a microwave safe bowl or saucepan, combine the chicken broth, onion, carrot and broccoli. Cook in the microwave for 8 minutes stirring after about 4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In a separate saucepan on low heat melt the butter stir in the flour. Just like you were making gravy. Slowly add the milk stirring constantly and the cream of chicken soup.
Have your cheese cut in chunks and add to the milk mixture. Then add the broccoli mixture to this and continue cooking on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
Makes 8 to 10 cups.
I don’t ever bring this to a boil, but just cook on low heat.

If there is anything we love as a family, it is a donut, and these are the perfect Fall treat. Made with a cake mix, this recipe is even easier. Then, add our delicious caramel icing, and you are in heaven! We are big pumpkin fans and the spices in these are perfect. Add these to your recipe list and make them this Fall season. These donuts come together pretty quickly; you can make these in about 30 minutes.
You can switch out the seasonings in this if you prefer to add more pumpkin spice. You can also top this with a cream cheese frosting, just a powdered sugar glaze, or leave it off altogether. We love the caramel frosting. For a bit of sweetness, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.


Remember, these are cake mix donuts, so they have a cake-like consistency, and the icing keeps them very moist. We store them in an airtight container and they are actually good, cold if you prefer to keep them in the refrigerator.

These cake mix donuts are topped with a delicious caramel frosting. These are so easy to make and a perfect way to start the day.
Pour the pumpkin mix into a large mixing bowl and add the spices. Stir with a spoon to mix well. Add yellow cake mix and stir until all ingredients are wet. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray. My pan makes 12 medium sized donuts.
Spoon the mixture into the donut pan or could use a piping bag. I just used a spoon. I filled each cup almost full. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 12 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool in donut pan for 10 minutes before removing. This made 18 donuts for me. Add frosting.
Combine brown sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan on top of the stove until melted and starts to boil. Remove and add vanilla extract and powdered sugar. Stir well. Drizzle or pour over cooled donuts.
If frosting gets too thick just add more milk. If too thin add more powdered sugar.

This Hamburger Potato Soup is wonderful comfort food! Great to enjoy with family and friends.
Brown the hamburger, onions and minced garlic in a skillet on top of the stove. Remove, drain and put in soup pot or crock pot. Add remaining ingredients to soup pot or crock pot and if cooking on top of the stove, cook until potatoes and carrots are soft.
Cook in crock pot for 6 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
Once cooked, garnish with cheddar cheese.

If you love hearty dishes that are super simple to make, this Cowboy Casserole is the one for you!
You will find many different versions of this casserole online, and this is our favorite way to make it. We skipped the creamed soups and added tomatoes and green chilis, and it was a big hit! This is a super versatile dish and is great for cold weather or a day of tailgating. We suggest making our fried cornbread to go with it, as that is the perfect combination.
You could easily switch the ground beef for ground turkey, ground chicken or Italian sausage. Not a fan of kidney beans, simply use another kind or leave them out. Like spicy food, add more hot sauce. This is such a versatile recipe!


We put the potatoes on the bottom so they will be closest to the heat and cook faster. Also this dish has liquid because we love to dip cornbread in it. If you would like less liquid, drain the tomatoes and possibly skip the broth, but you may need to add a little so it doesnt stick.


This Crock Pot Cowboy Casserole is hearty and delicious! One your family will love and you will make over and over again.
Brown ground beef, onions and peppers in a skillet on top of the stove, drain.
Place the potatoes in the bottom of a 3 1/2 quart crock pot and sprinkle corn on top. Add the browned hamburger with onions and peppers on top of the corn along with the kidney beans.
In a bowl combine both cans of diced tomatoes along with the 1/2 cup water or broth. Stir in the black pepper, salt, garlic, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne or hot sauce. Mix well and pour over the contents of the crock pot.
Cook on high for 4 hours or low for six hours or until potatoes are done. Once the casserole is finished cooking, sprinkle on shredded cheese, put the top on the crock pot and let it melt.

You could cut this recipe in half or double for a large group. If you like Italian food, you will love this dish.

You can switch out the pasta for any you like! If you are not a fan of green peppers or onions, you can simply leave them out. You could use low-fat cream cheese and low-fat sour cream in this recipe. We love it with the mozzarella, but you could easily use an Italian blend too.




This Cheesy Italian Casserole will quickly become a family favorite. The combination of spices and pasta makes this a great dish.
Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside. Brown ground beef, onions and green pepper in skillet on top of the stove and drain if needed. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, sliced mushrooms, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and basil to skillet and heat for about 10 minutes.
Spread pasta in the bottom of a large casserole dish. Cover with hamburger mixture. Combine softened cream cheese and sour cream by mixing together with a spoon and then spread over top of hamburger in casserole. Sprinkle on cheese. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

We love fudge and this easy version is quick and delicious! Super versatile too.
This is the quickest and easiest fudge recipe you will ever make! It only takes a few minutes and it is so good. I cut this into small pieces and keep it in my fridge for when I am craving something sweet, and since I am a chocoholic, it makes the perfect treat.
This a super versatile and straightforward base recipe. You can easily switch out the chips, could use peanut butter or butterscotch or a combination. We have made this with butterscotch and it was delicious. You could also add in some raisins, take out the nuts, add in coconut. This is a recipe you can really play with.


This is a softer style fudge, not super hard and I feel like it is even better the next day, so you can easily make this in advance.


This easy fudge recipe is only 4 ingredients! So simple to make and always a hit.
Dump the milk and chocolate chips into a microwave safe glass bowl. Microwave 1 minute and 30 seconds. Remove and stir until smooth. Add vanilla extract and nuts. Mix well and pour into a sprayed 9 x 9 dish. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours. Cut into squares. Makes about 24 pieces depending on size you cut your squares
I have tried this with fat free condensed milk and it does not get as hard as the whole condensed milk but could not tell much difference in the taste.
