    Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes added to the international superstars who descended on Perth at the weekend.

    The 82-year-old stunned shoppers when she randomly turned up in Murray Street in the CBD.

    Passers-by couldn’t believe it was the crude-witted, hilarious TV star who was unmistakable as she was seen doing some mystery filming. She was “laughing and smiling” as she was assisted by a younger woman.

    Margolyes was later spotted on Sunday at The Kosher Providore bakery in Menora doing more filming.

    Her presence in our city added to a packed city of famous names over the weekend, with US singer Lizzo also in town and English soccer captain Harry Kane.

    English star Margolyes famously played Professor Pomona Sprout in 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

    She splits her time between the UK and New South Wales where she shares her life with her partner, Australian historian Heather Sutherland.

    The screen star became an Australian citizen herself 10 years ago. She made a Netflix show called Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian.

    Margolyes recently explained her potty mouth to The West Australian and why she doesn’t mind shocking on camera or on her social media with her swearing or rude admissions.

    Gracie Piscopo has dabbled in school holiday fun with her young son in the Perth CBD.

    The mother-of-one, 27, took her son Romeo, 4, to enjoy the ice rink, snow slide and carnival rides at the School’s Out Winter Fest — at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre throughout the winter school holidays.

    In some sweet snaps shared to her Instagram story, Piscopo’s son can be seen skating around the ice rink, holding on to a blue penguin for support.

    In one photo, the well-known personality appeared alongside Romeo.

    She wore casual attire, including a white top, light blue jeans, and a jumper wrapped around her neck, shawling over her shoulders.

    The brunette beauty had some of her hair tied back in a white claw clip as she held her son’s shoulder.

    Appearing happy and excited, the four-year-old also went on the inflatable snow slide, swiftly streaming down in a big black inflatable doughnut.

    While at the event, Piscopo shared photos of plastic tubs filled with pink fairy floss and a swing carousel — lit up in red and blue.
