  • The Euphoria High Reunion Photos Have Dropped

    Photo: Patrick Wymore/HBO

HBO just released a whole album of Where Are They Now pics ahead of Euphoria season 3. As Sam Levinson said previously, this new season will take place after the cast graduated college. Well, some of the cast. Rue is in Mexico fleeing drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly), which sounds like matriculation wasn’t a high prio these last five years. Nate Jacobs and Cassie Howard are still together (??) and engaged (???) with their wedding being a big set piece of the season (!!!!). It feels like we’re getting new plot details every week, to the point that the show’s April 2026 release feels almost superfluous. JK. We still don’t know what Elliot (Dominic Fike) is up to!

    Photo: Patrick Wymore/HBO

“We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,” Levinson said at a HBO Max presentation in London last week. Based on the above pic, Rue’s flight has maybe caused her to have a crisis of faith. Or a “come to Jesus” moment. She probably needs it.

    Photo: Partick Wymore/HBO

Nate is rocking the suburbs, according to Levinson. And the photo released by HBO indicates the dude is straight grilling. Elordi recently promised Gwyneth Paltrow that Nate Jacobs is “nicer” in season 3 of Euphoria. “I finished filming a new season just recently, and it’s a completely different thing,” he said during his “Actors on Actors” interview. But it’s not like that’s an especially high bar.

Photo: Photograph by Courtesy of HBO

According to Levinson, Cassie Howard is having a harder time of it in the suburbs, compared to Nate. “She’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time,” he said. Good to see the feud with Maddy is still a going concern.

    Photo: Eddy Chen/HBO

Levinson says Cassie’s baby sister Lexi is trying to make it big in Hollywood. And Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone,” he said, “who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.” Lexi’s character photo shows her on a Hollywood studio lot, in front of a full Hail Caesar-ass extras. Showbiz!

    Photo: Marcel Rev/HBO

Judging by the blurry centurions in Maddy’s photo, she’s on the same lot as Lexi. (The Warner Bros. lot in Burbank to be specific. Peep the rounded soundstage ceilings.) “Maddy is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager,” Levinson said. “She’s obviously got her own side hustles going.”

    Photo: Eddy Chen/HBO

Jules is drinking full fat cokes at art school, and we love that for her. Levinson says Jules’ life isn’t as bold and brave as the photo suggests, however. “Jules is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs,” he said.

We’ll see how all these crazy kids come together when Euphoria returns to HBO in 2026.

  • Melania Trump Announces New Production Company

    Photo: Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images

Michelle Obama had a kitchen garden, Nancy Reagan had “Just Say No.” Melania Trump has a vanity shingle. The FLOTUS announced her new production company, Muse Films, on social media Black Friday. She’s just the latest political figure to go Hollywood. Biden signed with CAA after leaving office, and the Obamas had their Netflix overall deal in 2021. But Melania isn’t waiting until her husband’s out of office to get this ball rolling. The company takes its name from Melania Trump’s secret service code name during the first Trump admin. Presumably she has a new one now.

The first film released by Muse will be the documentary Melania. The film depicts the 20 days before Trump’s second inauguration. Directed by Brett Ratner of all people, Melania comes to theaters and Amazon Prime Video in 2026. Amazon paid $40 million for the privilege of streaming the film on their platform.

It’s possible Muse will be involved in the newly announced (presidentially-mandated?) Rush Hour 4. Paramount has agreed to distribute RH4 after Donald Trump personally requested a revival of the franchise, per Semafor. Melania is Ratner’s first feature film since 2014’s Hercules. In 2017, he was accused of sexual misconduct by six women, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge. Variety reports that many distributors didn’t want to touch Rush Hour 4 due to Ratner’s involvement.

  • Pluribus Asks, Would a Better Call Saul Reunion Make You Happy?

Fight for your right to feel crappy.
    Photo: Apple TV/YouTube

Have you ever been depressed at karaoke? Unable to feel the love at a wedding? Ever been to a party and thought, Oh, my vibes are so off — and everyone knows? In the new show from Vince Gilligan, starring Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn, one lady is tanking the energy of the entire world. Here, everything you need to know about Pluribus, the new show breaking the S curse for Apple TV.

You can’t get this guy out of New Mexico. He loves it! Like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul before it, Pluribus is set in Albuquerque. Entertainment Weekly says Seehorn plays Carol, a historical-romance author who wants to “save humanity from happiness.” Some time before the series’ start, a virus swept the globe and made everyone content and placid. And based on the trailer, it seems the world isn’t cool with Carol being left out.

No one likes a spoilsport, apparently. In the trailer for Pluribus, we see everyone from a shipping-company worker to the president trying to turn Carol’s frown upside down. The guy from the shipping company would give her a hand grenade if it would make her happy. But why is Carol’s local Sprouts abandoned? Do the happy no longer need to eat? We’ll find out more in November.

Seehorn will be joined/opposed by Karolina Wydra (True Blood) and telenovela star Carlos Manuel Vesga. Miriam Shor, Samba Schutte, and Peter Bergman guest-star.

Besides the location and the star? It’s possible. Gilligan told EW that there are little nods to his past work in the show. “There might be a couple if you keep your eyes and ears peeled,” he said. “Fans of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, if they pay close attention, they might come upon an Easter egg or two.”

Catch the fever when the first two episodes of Pluribus come to Apple TV (without the +) on November 7. New episodes will drop every Friday until December 26. And there’s already an order for a second season.

  • The Social Network Follow Up Is App-ening

    Yeah, brother.
    Photo: Merrick Morton/Columbia Pictures/Everett Collection

It’s hard to quantify the success of The Social Network. It made $224 million at the box office against a $40 million budget; it was nominated for eight Oscars, winning three; it recently placed at No. 10 on both the New York Times’ industry poll and readers poll for the best movies of the 21st century. So … let’s make another one, right? That always goes well. The Social Network’s “follow-up” is in development at Sony with Aaron Sorkin returning to direct in addition to writing the script. Below, everything we know about the sequel that’s not exactly a sequel, including the latest cast members.

The movie, which is not a direct sequel to the original film, is titled The Social Reckoning, per Variety.

The film will be based on 2021 Wall Street Journal reports “The Facebook Files,” by Horwitz. Based on leaked internal documents from Facebook, the reports claim Facebook allowed celebrities and public figures (like Donald Trump) to post content that regular users (like activists) would not be allowed to post, then did not tell its Oversight Committee. They also allege that Facebook’s response to human and drug trafficking on the site was “weak” and that Facebook knew that Instagram is “toxic” for teen girls but downplayed the negative effects publicly. The documents that the reporting was based on were gathered and disclosed by Haugen, a product manager on Facebook’s civic integrity team.

Jesse Eisenberg is not attached to return as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Instead, Succession star Jeremy Strong is taking over the part, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hard to imagine J. Strong in a curly wig, but based on the similar cringe-o-meter ratings between “L to the OG,” from Succession, and Zuckerberg serenading his wife with “Get Low,” the casting isn’t out of nowhere. Despite his role as Zuck, Strong will not be the lead of the film. That honor will be shared between Anora’s Oscar winner Mikey Madison, who will play Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen and The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, who will play the journalist who wrote Haugen’s secrets up, Jeff Horwitz. They’ll all be joined by comedian Bill Burr in an unknown role. Maybe himself?

Additional cast members include Sinners star Wunmi Mosaku as well as the recently announced Billy Magnussen, former Mary Lincoln Betty Gilpin, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Anna Lambe of True Detective: North Country.

The Social Reckoning will be released in a little over a year, on October 9, 2026. Get zucking ready.

  • When Will Daredevil: Born Again Come Again?

Season 1 did a Heat, will season 2 do an Irishman?
    Photo: Disney+/YouTube

Daredevil: Born Again was always set up to end in a cliffhanger. Good news, Disney decided to be kind and not leave you (and the residents of New York City) hanging. We already have confirmation from showrunner Dario Scardapene that we’re getting more Matt Murdock. Here’s everything we know about Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

The official trailer for season two isn’t public yet, but we can hear about it — basically, the Matt Murdock experience. Krysten Ritter surprised the crowd and confirmed her return as Jessica Jones. But she wasn’t the only surprise in the trailer. Elden Henson is back (?) as Foggy Nelson (??) even though he died in the season 1 premiere (???). We need an explanation. While we wait, we can watch Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin enter his boxing era as he’s seen fighting someone in a boxing ring.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ends with Kingpin and Mrs. Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio and Ayelet Zurer) ruling over New York City under flimsy fascist pretexts. Timely! But Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) is back. AS is Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, a.k.a. Medium Pun, r.i.p. Big Pun (Jon Bernthal). Together they’ll fight the police state and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) will take back the city.

According to Disney+’s official MCU timeline, Daredevil: Born Again is a part of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is the most recent piece of MCU material released. Does that mean New York will still be under martial law during Thunderbolts*? Unclear. We do know that a Punisher special coming to Disney+ soon, co-written by Bernthal and Reinaldo Marcus Green.

On Instagram, Scardapene let it be known that Daredevil: Born Again would come to Disney+ in March 2026. Just in time for Lent.

  • The Next Minecraft Movie Gets a Release Date

Photo: Carlos Tischler/Eyepix Group/LightRocket via Get

Chicken jockeys, we ride at dawn. Jared Hess announced on Instagram that there will be a second Minecraft movie. Though what it will be called is TBD. A Second Minecraft Movie? Yet Another Minecraft Movie? Or, hear me out, Not Another Minecraft Movie, and you cast Chris Evans as a cheeky nod to his cinematic roots.

We don’t know much about what this next Minecraft movie will be, except that it almost certainly will be huge. A Minecraft Movie broke all sorts of records this summer, and helped Warner Bros. have one of its most successful years ever. Remember when you were walking the One Battle After Another press tour, Paul Thomas Anderson, and there was only one set of footprints? That’s when A Minecraft Movie was carrying you. The main deet Hess shared with his IG audience was the release date. Minecraft Movie 2 Name TBD comes out July 23, 2027. Same as the second Simpsons movie.

  • Riverdale’s Exquisite Corpse to Be Brought Back From the Dead

Gotta bring this scream queen back!
    Photo: The CW

Things that pose a threat to consume and destroy the human brain: (1) zombies; (2) the CW’s Riverdale; (3) a spinoff Riverdale about zombies. Disney+ is developing Afterlife With Archie, an apocalyptic hourlong drama written and produced by the same duo behind Riverdale and Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Greg Berlanti, per Deadline.

If you think that a zombie show about Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and the gang sounds random, you must be new here. For one, Afterlife With Archie will be based on an actual run of horror-themed Archie comic books written by Aguirre-Sacasa in 2013 and ’14. Furthermore, a zombie apocalypse wouldn’t even scratch the surface of weirdest things to happen in the fictional town of Riverdale. For example, a brief list of stuff far spookier than zombies that happened over the course of the show’s seven-season run:

Cult kidnappings, an organ-harvesting ring, ritualistic human sacrifice, a mass murderer called “The Black Hood,” a “Gargoyle King,” a “Mothman,” literally Satan, something called “the serial-killer gene,” a possessed doll containing the spirit of a triplet consumed in the womb, a twincest relationship featuring a rotting corpse, a juvenile-prison fight club, underage-tickle-fetish porn, Veronica developing pheromone-venom that kills her lovers, a Biblical plague upon the town’s firstborn, and musical numbers.

TV just hasn’t been the same since Riverdale went off the air in 2023. Disney+ can’t dig up that grave fast enough.

  • The Lion, Lady Bird, and the Streaming Service

She’s gonna do it. (Make Barry Keoghan Mr. Tumnus.)
    Photo: James Devaney/GC Images

Greta Gerwig has already made Barbieland, historical Massachusetts, and 2001 Sacramento feel real. All that’s left is Narnia. Gerwig is current filming her adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, which she had already started writing a draft of before even beginning filming Barbie. The project was first revealed in July 2023, confirming Gerwig would make at least two movies in the series. Slowly but surely, details about the new franchise are hitting the page, including the extremely famous actors being cast. Plus, Gerwig has convinced Netflix to show the film on Imax screens. It’s always good to have a resurrected lion Jesus — especially one played by Meryl Streep — on your side. Below, the latest cast and production updates.

Mark Ronson, the Barbie soundtrack ringleader, will score the upcoming Narnia film, Variety confirmed on September 23. Notably, the film stars his fellow former Gerwig collaborator and mother-in-law, Meryl Streep. We knew it meant something when they presented together at the Grammys. Ronson’s involvement, as he’s a pop-music producer used to working with stars like Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, and Miley Cyrus, implies that the film might be a little less stately than previous Narnia adaptations. Does this mean we get to hear some pop stars on this soundtrack like we did for Barbie? Charli XCX might not have ended up in the role of the White Witch, despite initial rumors, but that doesn’t mean she can’t drop a banger about snow. In our wildest dreams, the whole score is a collaboration between Ronson and his “True Blue” collaborator Angel Olsen. Burn your Turkish delight for no witness.

Gerwig may be chronicling Narnia, but there’s a lot of lore in that world, and two movies wouldn’t come close to covering the whole series. Gerwig is tackling The Magician’s Nephew, the sixth book to be released in the series. That book covers the origins of the iconic White Witch and Aslan’s battle that rages on in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, focusing on two young children, Digory and Polly, who are sent to Narnia by their uncle Andrew. There is much debate in the Narnia community about what book to read first, between The Magician’s Nephew and TLTWTW, because the original series’ release pattern eschewed chronological order. Lewis first put out TLTWTW in 1950, continued the series for three chronological installments in 1951 to 1953, put out two separate prequels, The Horse and His Boy (1954) and The Magician’s Nephew (1955), and then ended the series with The Last Battle in 1956. It looks like Gerwig has chosen a side.

The Disney- and Fox-released film series in the 2000s only made three movies, never getting to the planned adaptation of the fourth-released book, The Silver Chair, despite a 2014 fan contest to name the film’s antagonist. Those films avoided the prequels altogether, as did the 1988–90 BBC series. In November 2023, Scott Stuber, the then–film chief of Netflix, told Variety that, while The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the “preeminent” book, Gerwig was working on how to “break the whole arc of all of [the series].”

Gerwig told Time that she was drawn to the “paradox of the worlds that Lewis created,” through the combination of mythologies like Greek fauns, Father Christmas, and the British Empire. Ted Sarandos, meanwhile, told the magazine that Gerwig’s version of the story will be “bigger and bolder” than what audiences imagine. Lewis’s version of the story is deeply associated with Christianity to the point where “Talking Narnia to Your Neighbors” is a real 2005 headline from the Evangelizing website Today’s Christian Woman. In terms of adaptation, Stuber confirmed to Variety in his November interview that Gerwig’s version is “rooted in faith.” Previous examples of Gerwig’s work being informed by Christianity include Lady Bird eating non-blessed communion wafers, Lady Bird getting suspended for sassing a pro-life activist, and Barbie killing God.

Daniel Craig will be playing Andrew, that dastardly fellow. He’ll be joined by Carrie Mulligan as Digory’s sick mother. At least one Barbie is joining the cast, because the White Witch will be played by Barbie and Sex Education star Emma Mackey. According to the The Hollywood Reporter, she beat out Margaret Qualley and multiple other actresses who were interested in the role (Deadline previously reported that Charli XCX could potentially trade her brat green to play the White Witch.) Meanwhile, Meryl Streep will be playing Aslan. Yes, the lion. Notably, there is no official casting for the purported leads of the film, Digory and Polly.

Principal photography began on the film on August 11, per Far Out. Early videos coming out from set look like they are set in the mid-1950s, rather than the original Victorian era.

Gerwig’s first movie is set to hit Imax screens on Thanksgiving 2026 after a big win in negotiations with Netflix. That means it won’t be available on streaming until Christmas, but some things just feel right.

  • Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Gladys, She’s Starring a Prequel

The breakout bone chilling star of the year is getting her big break — a big break that isn’t just the best Halloween costume idea this year. Weapons’s creepy but silly villain, Aunt Gladys (played by Oscar nominated actress Amy Madigan), is getting an origin story movie. Director and writer Zach Cregger confirms that he is in talks with Warner Bros. for a prequel to everyone’s favorite auntie. “It is real and I’ve been talking to Warner Bros. about it. There’s a story and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s not bullshit,” Cregger shared with Fangoria when talking about the home release of Weapons. He also felt “ready” for another installment in the same universe: “I had it kind of in my pocket before the movie came out.”

News of another film, whether a sequel or prequel, has been floating around since mid-August when Weapons became a hit with critics and the box office. There was a part of the film dedicated to Gladys’s origins, but it fell on the cutting room floor, THR reports. Thankfully, it’s being picked up by Warner Brothers for more. Aren’t you Glad’ys in development now?

  • Superman’s Sequel Will Have More Lex Luthor

    Super cast.
    Photo: Steve Granitz/FilmMagic

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s script treatments, blue-light lenses, and lots and lots of coffee. James Gunn has confirmed he’s officially working on a sequel to Superman (in addition to a ton of other stuff for the DCU). So, what’s he cooking up for Superman’s next adventure? Below, the new title, release date, and everything Gunn’s teased for the sequel’s plot.

On September 3, James Gunn announced the new Supes movie title and release date. It’ll be called Man of Tomorrow and perhaps feature Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) in a mecha suit. That is, if the Jim Lee art Gunn posted on Instagram is a clue to the film’s plot.

Previously, Gunn said this movie wouldn’t be a direct sequel to Superman. “Superman has a major role,” he wrote on Threads. “It’s not Superman 2.” So who is the titular Man of Tomorrow? He later explained to Howard Stern how Superman and Lex Luthor will have to “work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat.” Gunn also teased that Luthor will be much more involved. “And it’s more complicated than that. It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie,” he continued. “I relate to the character of Lex, sadly.” He also shared they’ll start filming in April 2026.

As for how the pre-production process was for Gunn? Smooth sailing. He tells a fan on Threads that writing the sequel was “much much much easier” and “so fun.” Gunn told Collider on August 16 that he’s “totally done with the treatment” for the second film. “We’re scheduling it now,” he shared. “My treatments are incredibly intense. They’re not regular treatments. They’re 60-page treatments with dialogue and everything. And so, now I’m just turning that into a script. We’re planning out when we’re going to shoot that. It’s going to be much sooner rather than later.” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also confirmed this in an earnings call on August 7, where he teased that Gunn will write and direct the “next movie in the Super-Family.”

WBD has set July 9, 2027, as the release date for Man of Tomorrow. Where does it fit on the new DCU timeline? Our guess is maybe somewhere in between Lanterns and The Brave and the Bold?

Krypto’s dog-mom, of course. Supergirl is here to save our summer on June 26, 2026.

  • Charlie Hunnam Is Going Psycho in Monster Season 3

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are returning to the true-crime well. After courting controversy with their takes on Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez brothers, the pair are digging up one of the first true-crime sensations in America: Ed Gein. And would you believe there’s already a long history of problematic adaptations of the grim material? Below, the teaser trailer, release date, and everything else we know about Monster season three starring Charlie Hunnam, coming to Netflix on October 3.

The third season of Monster will cover one of the most dramatized serial killers in history: Ed Gein. Gein is perhaps more famous for his DIY projects than for murder. He killed at least two people and was suspected of killing seven more. Police discovered several mutilated corpses in his house when he was arrested. “You’re the one who can’t look away,” Hunnam’s Gein ends the trailer dancing in a full skin suit and mask.

In real life, Gein upholstered chairs and a trash can with human skin and made bowls out of skulls. He also made a corset out of a woman’s torso and a belt out of women’s nipples. “You’re working too fast!” his mother, played by Laurie Metcalf, yells into the dark work room where a bald Hunnam hammers away at a human face. “Just go slow and steady. Take your time, sweet boy.”

The corset Gein made seemed to stick in certain authors’ minds, as the case has been fictionalized and used to demonize the trans community multiple times. Robert Bloch turned Gein into the crossdressing and mommy-obsessed Norman Bates in the original Psycho novel. Thomas Harris drew from Gein to create sewist serial killer Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs. Gein was also a reference point for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1000 Corpses, and even AHS: Asylum’s Bloody Face.

Tom Hollander and Suzanna Son will star. This is also Metcalf’s second time she’s playing the mom of a serial killer.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story comes to Netflix at the start of spooky season, dropping on October 3.

  • Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock Are Brewing a Practical Magic Sequel

    Photo: Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection

Potion for a perfect sequel includes:
    – 2 Oscars
    – 2 Emmys
    – 1 George Lopez producer credit
    – 1 AMC commercial
    – 1 Paddington Bear astronaut

It’s midnight somewhere, so start making some margaritas. Here are all the details bubbling up about a Practical Magic sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Practical Magic sequel is brewing with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock attached to executive-produce and reprise their roles as sisters Gillian and Sally Owens. It will be written by one of the original screenwriters of the first film, Akiva Goldsman. Right now, there are no plot details available for the sequel. But when we last left off with the witches, they overcame the family curse preventing them from ever finding love. Are any more curses going to be uncovered from the past 20 years? Sally’s daughters would be all grown up by now; maybe they have their own relationship (or broomstick) woes.

Aunts abound on the cast for Practical Magic 2. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are reprising their roles as the Owens girls’ aunts. Unfortunately, Evan Rachel Wood isn’t coming back as eldest daughter Kylie. “I am getting asked about this a lot, so l’ll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the Practical Magic sequel,” Wood wrote on Instagram Stories. “l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.”

We know two things for certain: Lee Pace is (1) six-foot-five, and (2) appearing in Practical Magic 2. Other new faces in Spookytown, Massachusetts, include Joey King (who’ll play Sally’s daughter), Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.

A better question is, have they finished frolicking in the fields? The answer to both is yes. “That’s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic ✨” Kidman wrote in an Instagram caption on September 13.

The magic returns to theaters on September 18, 2026. Get your broomsticks ready.

  • The Hunting Wives Season Two Is Calling

    Make it a double.
    Photo: Lionsgate/Netflix/Everett Collection

Sexy spoilers for The Hunting Wives season one follow.

Psychosexual, violent mind games between wealthy women never have to end. Just one day after we finally got an update on Big Little Lies season three, Netflix renewed The Hunting Wives for a second season. So if you randomly saw lesbians, gay men, and straight women who love mess coming together for a hug today, that’s probably why. Vulture critic Roxana Hadadi called the first season “bawdy, tawdry, and perfectly ludicrous” so it’s no surprise that it was a wild success for Netflix, garnering over 20 million views in the U.S. over five weeks, per the streamer.

Below, the returning cast members and what we know about the next season of The Hunting Wives.

Based on a book by May Cobb, the drama follows Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow), a woman who moves to Maple Brook, Texas, after accidentally committing vehicular homicide and becomes obsessed with a woman named Margo (Malin Akerman) and her group of “Hunting Wives.” Spoiler: The two women end up having an affair. That would be enough for most shows, but on this one, there’s also the mystery of a murdered teenage girl to solve. By the end of the season, multiple characters die, Sophie and Margo’s husbands hate them, and they’re at the center of it all, for better and for worse.

Creator Rebecca Cutter will be back for the second season. “I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook,” she said in a statement. Cutter will be joined by returning cast members Brittany Snow and Akerman, who gave fans something to nibble on in a season-two promo video. “You know I know what you sound like when you’re breathing on the phone,” Margo says when she catches Sophie mid-crash-out.

Those two leads will get to play with Margo’s former lover (and the one who pegs her husband) Callie, played by Jaime Ray Newman. The returning men are Dermot Mulroney, who plays Margo’s husband, Jed, who is running for governor of Texas; Sophie’s husband, Graham, played by Evan Jonigkeit; and local teenage boy Brad, played by George Ferrier. Which of these six will make it out of season two alive?

Netflix waited three years to put out a second season of Wednesday. We wouldn’t start hunting it down just yet.

  • Start Packing for Your Vacation at the Pokémon Concierge

Get ready, trainers, for the biggest battle of your life: deciding between a mojito or a margarita (or a lemonade if you’re by the vending machine). Pokèmon Concierge, a slice-of-life animated series that follows Haru (Karen Fukuhara for the English version) and her Psyduck working at a resort for Pokémon, returns for its second season this week. Directed by Iku Ogawa with a screenplay by Harumi Doki, the stop motion series will release four more new episodes with Netflix; unfortunately, they did not learn that we need way more episodes to satisfy Poké nerds— give us at least 6! The only problems on the island are figuring out how to give the Pokémon the best day ever — well, until your ex-boyfriend shows up. Here’s how you can book your ticket to the Pokémon resort.

Pokémon Concierge lands on Netflix this Friday, September 4, with four new episodes.

The most important question. Plenty of Poké friends are taking the ferry over for some relaxation. Based on the trailer, it looks like Shinx and Luxray get a tour of the island from Haru and Psyduck. As for new arrivals, Hoppip, Skiploom, and Bulbasaur get a warm welcome right off the ferry. While enjoying all the amenities, Sealeo gives Bellsprout and Dedenne a ride on the water (DEDENNE PLEASE DON’T FALL!!!). It looks like Brett even got some helpers this season from Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour — even if they’re fooling around on the job. But the biggest surprise of them all was Haru’s ex-boyfriend Kent, who shows up at the resort — exes always show up when you’re doing well, don’t they?

Changes are hard, especially when your favorite emotional support Saturday Night Live writers announce their departure from the show. After celebrating 50 years at 30 Rock, some of the crew are taking this moment to say their goodbyes to SNL as season 51 quickly approaches — October’s season premiere will be here before you know it. Here’s everyone who’s saying farewell to Studio 8H, from the cast to the writers, who’ll be enjoying having their weekends free this Fall.

After three seasons, cast member Devon Walker is not returning to SNL and he’s finding a more light-hearted approach to hard launching the news, writing “me and baby broke up” on Instagram. At the top of the note on the third slide, he asks, “wait… did he quit or did he get fired?” before addressing that it doesn’t really matter. “To me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages,” he begins. “Some of em last for a long time if we’re lucky, but most of them are fleeting. Permanent until they’re not. That’s the deal. You know what it is it when you sign up.” Walker does look to the future, with hopes of landing a gig on a “prestige drama” sometime soon, “ideally something with Julianne Moore.”

Behind the screen, two writers have confirmed they’ll not be returning to SNL. Celeste Yim, who frequently wrote with Bowen Yang, announced on August 25 that they’re departing the show after five seasons, giving Yang a special shout-out. “Thank you Bowen for changing my life and for making me feel normal,” Yim wrote. Rosebud Baker, who wrote for four seasons, is also leaving the writers’ room for SNL the same day as she announced a fall comedy tour.

SNL is back on October 4. There’s no host or musical guest announced yet, but if we had to nominate anyone, may we suggest a showgirl?

  • Will Stranger Things 5 Flip the Script Upside Down?

When she first started shooting Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown was 10 years old playing Eleven. The 20-year-old actress is now married (into the House of Bon Jovi, no less), and the fifth and final season of the Netflix show still hasn’t dropped. The long wait isn’t because the Duffer brothers couldn’t figure out how to wrap up all the loose ends — in fact, the series creators told Variety in 2022 that fans shouldn’t expect to wait another three years since they already had an initial outline for the last installment of the show. But it was one of many projects across the industry that faced unexpected delays due to the double Hollywood strikes in 2023. Filming finally started on January 8, 2024.

Finn Wolfhard recently hinted to Us Weekly that season five is “huge” and contains “a lot of action sequences,” and other cast members have similarly talked up the scale of what we can expect. Here’s everything we know, including which familiar and new faces are in the cast, what details we’ve gotten about the “full circle” plot, and whether there’s a release date yet.

Not yet. But on July 15, Netflix celebrated Stranger Things 5 hitting the halfway point of filming by giving us a glimpse of the cast in costume on set in a behind-the-scenes video. We’re assured that the wait will be “100%” worth it and that season five feels even bigger than season four. It’s not like they could say it’ll be a letdown that feels smaller, but we’ll take it.

The majority of the cast. If you need proof, check the black-and-white photo Netflix shared to mark the start of production in January. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Jamie Campbell Bower, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, Amybeth McNulty, Charlie Heaton, Brett Gelman, Natalia Dyer, and Priah Ferguson are all pictured.

Joseph Quinn is notably not in the shot, but he seemingly hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning. “Nothing’s impossible,” he told The Hollwyood Reporter when asked in June 2024 about popping up in season five. “I don’t know,” he added, pointing out that he might have a “sly smile” on his face.

Four of ‘em so far, yup. Netflix announced in 2023 that Linda Hamilton would be the latest ‘80s icon to star in the ‘80s-set show. In July 2024, Netflix confirmed that Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux are also playing new characters.

Matt Duffer told The Guardian in 2023 that season five will be like season one “on steroids.” As you might recall, by the end of season four, Vecna got the Upside Down to start bleeding into Hawkins. With the gang all back in town, Matt said that we can expect to see Eleven and the boys interacting more like they did when we first met them. Ross Duffer also suggested to Collider in 2022 that the final installment will be “coming full circle back to season one.” He added that he expects that to happen with several character arcs, including Will, whom Matt identified as “a big part and focus” of the final season. “We’re starting to see his coming of age, really,” Matt explained. “Which has been challenging for a number of reasons, some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him come into his own.”

Meanwhile, if you’ve still got burning questions about the Upside Down, you’re in luck. The Duffers previously told Tudum that they wrote 25 pages about the mysterious dimension’s mythology during season one. The duo teased during Geeked Week in 2022 that questions answered by that lore document will translate to “big reveals” that are “really going to affect what season five is about.” (So perhaps it’s not surprising that Matt previously confirmed to Collider in 2022 that this season will primarily take place in Hawkins and the Upside Down.)

Oh, and yes, we’re getting a time jump. Was there ever any doubt?

It’s not a full press tour yet, but we’ve been getting little details in interviews throughout the year. Finn Wolfhard told Us Weekly on November 1 that season five will include “a lot of action sequences.” According to Wolfhard, the season will be “intimate,” but also “huge” in scale — a contrast he’s also teased in other interviews. He also echoed the Duffers’s full-circle comments by telling The Hollywood Reporter in March that the show is returning to “a lot of the dynamics of season one,” including some “leader Mike” moments.

During a Happy Sad Confused podcast live special in October, David Harbour said that as someone who can be “very critical” of Stranger Things, he thinks the season five finale is the best episode of the entire series. He added that cast members started crying halfway through the table read for it. “Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite,” he said.

In June, Jamie Campbell Bower reflected on iHeart’s I’ve Never Said This Before podcast that while he found season four’s plot easy to follow, he struggled to keep up with what was happening this time. “If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like, it’s bonkers. It really, really is,” he said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane.”

Meanwhile, Joe Keery said in February on The Movie Dweeb podcast that “good, good things” will happen for Steve.

Eight, which Maya Hawke described to Podcrushed in July as “basically, eight movies.” If that wasn’t clear enough, she added, “The episodes are very long.” That seems to align with Matt Duffer’s July 2022 appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, when he said he expected the season-five finale to have a runtime of at least two hours, per The Wrap.

For now, Stranger Things has shared the first couple lines of the script for the first episode, which already has a confirmed title: “The Crawl.”

As of publication time, no and no. If July was a true halfway point in filming, then it seems like shooting could wrap in January 2026. But there’s also post-production time to consider after that. As soon as we hear any official confirmation, we’ll come running up the hill to update this post.

  • It’s Always Sunny Takes a Field Trip to Abbott Elementary

After 16 seasons of absolute mayhem, the It’s Always Sunny gang truly has no business being around children. However, they’ll be taking a field trip to Willard R. Abbott Elementary School soon.

October 3: Abbott Elementary mastermind Quinta Brunson posted a photo with Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney on set, seemingly teasing that a highly anticipated crossover was finally in the works. However, the testing only lasted for so long. An ABC rep confirmed to Vulture that there is a crossover episode this upcoming Abbott season. It makes sense for the two to collab; both shows are owned by Disney (Abbott through ABC, and Sunny through FX) and set in Philadelphia. Hell, both of them had Jason Kelce pop in for a cameo. It was only a matter of time. There’s no details about what the episode could entail, but we have some guesses about what the gang could get up to while at school:

The Gang Breaks Into an Elementary School.
    The Gang Gets Their Degree.
The Gang Tries to Empower the Youth.
The Gang Goes to Career Day.

October 9: A lot of NSFW improv is hitting the cutting-room floor as the Abbott Elementary crew shapes their crossover episode with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. “When we were shooting last week, Rob [McElhenney] had this improv in this one scene with Ava that I did not know was … coming; he just thought about it extemporaneously,” Patrick Schumacker told The Wrap. “It made me spit out my coffee, and then wish that we had just an episode that was like a gag reel of all the stuff that we can’t use.” Apparently, there is a lot they can’t use. As the Sunny/Abbott crossover was masterminded by the shows’ stars, the BTS producers are now struggling to make it make sense within the worlds of the TV shows. “When Quinta first brought it to me and Pat, I was like, ‘I don’t know how the fuck this is going to work … how are we going to marry these two tones but each show stay true to their own show?’” Abbott EP Justin Halpern said. “It was incredibly fun to do.” The Abbott folks added that McElhenney and Charlie Day spent time in the writers’ room to make it work. No word yet on when the crossover ep will air.

October 26: This gives Disney Channel epic “That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana” crossover vibes. Instead of just the Gang barging into Abbott Elementary, the teachers will also be having a drink at Patty’s Pub. Variety confirmed that the crossover would be the ninth episode of the season for Abbott, but it’s not stated when the Always Sunny episode will air, as they have just begun production and will film with the cast in a “few weeks,” per Kaitlin Olsen. However, the Abbott episode will have a heavy “Charlie” (Charlie Day) storyline. Maybe Gregory’s Garden Goofballs will have some flowers for him.

  • It’s Time to Search for the Next Elle Woods Again

It’s Time to Search for the Next Elle Woods Again

    She’d love mock trial.
    Photo: MGM/Courtesy Everett Collection

Legally Blonde the film came out in 2001, commencing a butterfly effect that resulted in the single greatest, most-colon’d piece of art of our time: the 2008 MTV reality-competition program Legally Blonde: The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods, in which ten under-30-year-olds were subjected to physical and psychological torture in order to play Elle Woods in the musical adaptation of Legally Blonde on Broadway. And, well, it’s time for a remount. Prime Video has announced a Legally Blonde prequel series titled Elle, produced by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine. According to a press release, Elle will follow a high-school-age Elle Woods “as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love.” That’s incredibly vague, and we’re sad to think of a Legally Blonde property without Paulette, but we are choosing to channel our inner Elle Woods and be optimistic about the series anyway.

“I truly couldn’t be more excited about this series!” Witherspoon said in a statement. “Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?!” Well, Reese, we actually have an answer: What could be better is a reality competition in which 20-year-olds must fight to play Elle Woods. It worked for Madonna … kind of.

  • The Office Spinoff Is Finding People to Stare Directly Into the Camera

Oh my God! Okay, it’s happening. Everybody stay calm! A spinoff of The Office is about to start onboarding new hires. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) and Domhnall Gleeson (Run) will both star in the upcoming project, which is being produced by Universal Television. We first heard rumors that Dunder Mifflin would be restocking back in September 2023. But Greg Daniels, who is behind the American version of The Office, later clarified to TheWrap that he does not consider this new take to be a reboot. Instead, he likened it to the way that The Mandalorian fits into the Star Wars universe. “Something like the notion of this documentary crew doing a documentary about a different subject. That, I think, could be intriguing and creative,” he said. “But I don’t even know what you would call that.” Sounds like a spinoff to us! Daniels is reportedly working on the show with Nathan for You’s Michael Koman. Further details on who is involved are sparse. If the show is set in the same universe as the beloved NBC workplace comedy, perhaps we can look forward to at least a couple cute cameos from former cast members? Jenna Fischer told People she hasn’t been approached yet. We’re sticking by what we said last year: bring back Creed.
